Prem Castle stands guard on the hill and proudly adds beauty to the surrounding landscape, giving it an idyllic scene like in a fairy tale. One of the oldest Slovenian castles, with a rich history and architecture that has changed over the centuries, so that a beautiful blend of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architectural elements has been preserved to this day. It was recently renovated in the style introduced by the last owner, the Trieste doctor Bruno Zucculin, who bought the castle as a ruin in 1927 and decorated it as his summer residence.

Well preserved castle, rich in history. There is a guided itinerary through the Museum halls, with audioguide available with qr code. The surroundings are wonderful. The value for money is also good (€6 for adults). Absolutely recommend.

Beautiful castle full of history but the museum display or the exhibits are weak, I'm sure there's much more to show. But on the other hand, it's beautiful that such little village has it's renovated castle you can visit. Thumbs up!

Nice enough castle in a remote part of Slovenia. The views from the castle are stunning, overlooking the edge of the Karst area and towards Croatia. It's 5 eur to enter the inside of the castle but you can walk around the outside for free. Public parking on site.
