Basilica
Sights & Landmarks
The Euphrasian Basilica, a 6th-century Byzantine-style Episcopal basilica complex, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved early Christian architecture and art. Named after the sponsoring bishop Euphrasius, this masterpiece of Byzantine art and architecture features stunning mosaics, frescoes, and intricate carvings. Its historical significance has put Porec on the tourist map as one of Croatia's most visited destinations.
Visited during the morning and it was really beautiful with no one around. This 6th-century UNESCO World Heritage site is a stunning example of early Byzantine architecture. The basilica's intricate mosaics, particularly in the apse, are among the finest in the world, depicting biblical scenes with extraordinary detail and vibrant colors. The basilica has been a place of Christian worship for over 1,500 years, making it not only an artistic marvel but also a site of deep historical and religious significance. Half price for students. Nice view of the sea from the walls too.

This was an amazing experience as you step through time from the Romans to the Byzantine period and all the way through the 16th century to today. It is an experience not to be missed. You feel directly in touch with history and the sense of the centuries in the church is palatable, making it a unique experience in today’s modern fast-paced life. I cannot recommend a visit to Porec anf the Basilica enough. I would go again.
Ranjith L — Google review
We visited Poreč, a 2,000-year old Croatian city on the Istrian Peninsula influenced by Roman, Byzantine, and Venetian rule. It is known for its historic UNESCO World Heritage site, the Euphrasian Basilica complex, dating back to the 6th century. The complex showcases an amazing collection of mosaics housed in Byzantine-influenced architecture.
Francine L — Google review
Built in the 6th century, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the best-preserved examples of Byzantine art, this basilica is a must-visit.
Evren B — Google review
One of the oldest Basilica in the world. For the most part retained its original shape. The mosaic floor done in the 4th century can be seen. Just very fascinating! Worth of the visit!
Barbara S — Google review
The Euphrasian Basilica is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important examples of early Byzantine architecture in the Mediterranean. The tall, simple Romanesque-style bell tower seen in the photo is separate from the main basilica structure and can be accessed from a side street within the old town.
G W — Google review
Price of the tour is 10 euros and they were well spent.
Darko J — Google review
One of the best preserved basilicas of the 6th century in the world. To fully enjoy and decipher the meaning behind mosaics, a local guide is definitely recommended. Definitely a must visit place.

My steak wad cooked medium and it was perfect pastas are really good too!!!

What a treat! I had a fantastic beef consumee with fresh pasta and tiny, tender and tasty meatballs in it. Fresh homemade bread and great Croatian Cabernet. The restaurant is in a historic building and is decorated nicely. Very pleasant atmosphere and my waiter, Srdan was friendly, patient and attentive. The menu had a lot to choose from and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Highly recommend this restaurant if you want to be away from the horde of tourists.

Disco club
Byblos in Porec, Croatia is renowned for its vibrant nightlife and is considered the largest disco in the area. It attracts partygoers with world-famous DJs such as David Morales and Fatboy Slim regularly performing there. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a unique experience by taking a bus ride with the cheerful and music-loving driver Matko, who creates a pleasant atmosphere during the journey.
I went to Biblos and it was the best night of my life, not only because of the beauty of the place but especially because I met the best and most beautiful bartender in the place, Mihaela…
Pietro P — Google review
The staff is really rude. My friends and I (both male and female, 1 female was celebrating her birthday so she payed for our VIP area and the bottles (important for the rest of the story)) decided to go for a night out. While we were dancing and celebrating out of nowhere a worker came up to our table and completely ignored us girls (which were in the beginning of the table) to go up to our male friends and asked them if we were bothering them because she immediately assumed that since women are in the VIP area we are wh*res and we are trying to get with the guys to get free drinks. Especially on a so called “Girl’s night” in the club it was one of the most disrespectful and rude things we have ever experienced from any staff and ESPECIALLY since it was a female worker. But at least the DJ was good.
Ana M — Google review
I left Byblos in Poreč deeply disappointed. For a place that tries so hard to look “exclusive,” the overall experience was a letdown. The music was flat, repetitive, and completely uninspired — more like a background playlist than anything that could get a crowd moving. The staff were unfriendly and unapproachable, adding to the sense that customers are more of a burden than guests. But the real low point is their clumsy, overcomplicated payment system. Instead of simply accepting contactless cards — which they clearly already use as the underlying infrastructure — you’re forced to load money onto a wristband. On top of this pointless hassle, they even charge you a ridiculous €1 “fee” just for the privilege of depositing your own money. It feels like a scam dressed up as “convenience.” All in all, Byblos is a perfect example of style over substance: pretentious presentation, poor service, bad music, and a payment system that treats customers like cash machines. If you’re looking for a good night out in Poreč, look elsewhere.
Mattia D — Google review
I had to wait in line way to long, the girl at the top-up was treating us very unfriendly. I think it was a horrible experience and I will not visit this club ever again!
Marijn R — Google review
Byblos is the best, we met Lana at top up, she explained everything and makes the whole night feel better, her vibe, energy and smile really lift the place up
Cas Z — Google review
Dj was disappointing and the girl at the entrance cold unfriendly, but the other staff was great, especially Lana, we will come back just because of her

The Romanesque House in Porec is a well-preserved residential building located at the junction of Decamanus Street and Marafor Square. While it may appear slightly derelict, it remains a popular attraction for visitors interested in experiencing the city's historical architecture.
Really beautiful house.
Nélia C — Google review
Unfortunately, a little derelict and out of shape. There is no info if you can visit it from the inside at all. Too bad, because it seems like an interesting house. It dates back to the Romanic period, somewhere around the 13th century. The house is built out of big stone blocks.

Trg Marafor is a charming square nestled in the heart of Porec's old town, steeped in history and vibrant life. Once the focal point of a Roman military camp during Emperor Augustus' reign, this square showcases remnants of ancient temples dedicated to Mars and Neptune. While these structures are now mere ruins, they evoke a sense of nostalgia for the past. The square is adorned with beautiful architecture and lively cafes that capture the essence of Porec’s authentic atmosphere.

Ralf-G. S — Google review
(Translated by Google) The square is located at the intersection of the Cardo Maximus and the Decumanus, the ancient Roman forum, of which only a few remnants remain, such as the paved pavement. Besides hundreds of small shops, restaurants, and street food stalls, it's worth looking up and spotting the Venetian-style buildings, smothered in shop windows. Porec is definitely worth a stroll, at least for the Basilica and the narrow streets of the center, which deserve a five-star rating, but overtourism and too many shops would cause it to lose at least one star.

Restaurant Sveti Nikola

Restaurant
Nestled along the picturesque waterfront, Restaurant Sveti Nikola is a culinary gem that beckons food enthusiasts to indulge in its exquisite offerings. This upscale dining establishment boasts a stunning terrace with breathtaking views of the harbor and the nearby island, creating an enchanting atmosphere for any meal. The menu is a delightful showcase of traditional meat and seafood dishes, featuring highlights such as grilled octopus, fish filet drizzled in scampi sauce, and succulent beefsteak paired with tartufi sauce.
The service was really, really good. The staff were talking multiple languages and were extremely friendly and efficient. Seafood was fresh and could be prepared as you like - baked in oven, on the grill and more. Courses were beautifully done and some combinations of flavors were truly creative and tasted great. We went to dine there two times in the week we were in Poreč. The restaurant is located by the seaside, with view of the sea and the shore. It’s more of a fancy place, prices a bit higher than other restaurants. But absolutely worth it! The waiter who was serving us both times was wonderful and did his job perfectly. His name was Zeljko and he knew his food and wine, for sure. We will most definitely come back the next time we visit Poreč.
Solgunn V — Google review
Restaurant was highly rated so was excited to try it but was left disappointed. Carpaccio starter was fine but nothing to get too excited about. We ordered a risotto and seafood pasta for mains. The risotto looked like a bowl of soup with rice in it, and while the seafood itself was cooked well the pasta dish as a whole was very bland and flavourless. We decided against having dessert based on what we'd had and went elsewhere. What made this particularly disappointing was the price compared to other places nearby, didn't feel like the quality matched the cost. Positives were the wine, and our waiter was very nice. View out on the harbour is nice too. Overall, you can get a nicer meal for half the price nearby.
Peter F — Google review
Hello, how are you? I’m not so good. I was at this restaurant with my family today, and my experience was not the best. My father had undercooked meat. My risotto 🤌🏻 was not so great, my rice was hard and undercooked. My boyfriends risotto was the same scenario. But my mother had really great time with her spaghetti carbonara, she gives 5 ⭐️.
Vanesa P — Google review
The meals are delicious, the feeling of the place is also has its own vibe. I would reccommend fish fillet with aspargus and truffels if you like fish. The waitress was kind and friendly They even bring us a little cold appetizer.
Lajos M — Google review
Although not perfect, this restaurant is head and shoulder above other places in Poreč, in terms of the quality of the food. Their service is also exceptional. Mr. Nikola, the owner of the restaurant, would personally greet every guest during their stay, which is quite unusual and impressive. They have a daily special menu for both lunch and dinner. The lunch consists of three course and costs about 14 euro. The dinner has 4 courses and price is about 20 euro. I had the opportunity to try both, and I must say they offer exceptional value given the quality of the food, plus the excellent service. The calamari is my favorite - it is both fresh and delicious. I am however less impressed with the grilled fish. Somehow it tasted bland, and less tender, compared to the grilled fish I had last night at another local restaurant nearby.
Skywalker F — Google review
Wanted to go here for a while Had really high expectations which hadn't been completely fullfilled. Food is good Portions size are fare Loved the dessert and mushroom soup Main dish which was fish fillet was tasty but I found a small bone Which really shouldn't happen And vegetables that came with fish were really bland and overcooked. Calamari were really tasty. When it comes to service They did their best but something was lacking. There was this really tall waiter, he was really nice and helpfull even though he explained that he was new. All in all a good restaurant with lovely food and few things to work on.

We were recommended to go to this restaurant and as soon as we got there we could see why. Everything was just so good. Water & Amusement Parks
Amusement park
Aquapark Aquacolors in Porec is the largest water park in Croatia, offering over 20 water attractions, including 13 giant water slides and a 500-meter lazy river. It can accommodate thousands of visitors daily and is suitable for all ages. The park features a beachfront wave pool, a bar, and a kids' zone. Additionally, it boasts Crocodile Bay, a newly built relaxing zone with massages and large swimming pools.
I really enjoyed this aquapark! I even managed to go on some slides twice, and it was a lot of fun. The whole place was entertaining and well worth the visit. The one thing I would improve is the opening hours - it would be great if the park stayed open longer.
Sandro B — Google review
Great waterpark and not totally full. Parking ticket 3 eur extra There are enough space to lay down on gras without renting a parasol extra fee 9 EUR Ice cream up from 3-4,5 eur Speed pass only for 2-3 water slides. 20 eur extra per pass Please note, no refund for purchased tickets by heavy rains or storms. You can buy tickets online same day. However, you have to go to the counter to get the arm belt for purchasing inside the park
Christian U — Google review
From an adults perspective I'd only visit here with a child. There's alcohol and some places you can get beer from. Despite what their website says you can bring your own food and drink in. We didn't as the website said otherwise but we noticed loads, dozens of families bringing in their own shade tents, cooler boxes, beers and food. All out in the open, not snuck in by any means. Get their for opening in you want to rent some chairs under a shade umbrella, they go fast in peak season. Same with lockers. We rented a small locker for our phones and money. The park provides you with a wrist band that you make purchases with (don't lose it) and you pay at the end.
Hidden P — Google review
We spent the day here today and had a good time. There is a good variety of rides , the croc bar is very cool and the kids enjoyed the lazy river. The problem here is the lack of staff and life guards. There are no life guards or staff looking over the lazy river or the pools except the wave pool, which the guy spent the whole time on his phone. Every time we past him we didn't see him look up. There's maybe more staff on site but we barely saw any apart from the ones manning a few of the rides that they were supposed to. This then meant there were a bunch of kids going mad in the lazy river and throwing in the rings at each other and jumping off the side, and another group taking all the free rings and building a wall to try and block the water flow. I mean, 30+ rings, and were actually laughing at people trying to get in when they were going up and taking them saying haha there's non free because we have them all. This would easily be stopped if there was adequate staff. The lights in some of the rides were also not working so you had to lean over and try and see when the previous person came out the end. It's a shame, as we did enjoy the day over all. We paid as we arrived and had no queuing, the rides we also didn't have to queue too long. I would definitely recommend, but the management of the park needs to improve.
Frankie C — Google review
I definitely recommend! We’ve had such a great time!

This place is awesome! We spent 4 hours here and could've stayed longer. There's slides and activities for all ages and the longest we had to wait for a slide was about 10 minutes. A couplee of pro tips.... 1. Get the fast pass to skip any lines. 2. Check out their free entry on your birthday promotion!
Chris B — Google review
Great place to spend a day, great activities (I believe they were here because of Dalmaland's Birthday but I am not sure). If you are going I suggest you get tickets for both the aqua and fun park as it's not too big and if you got to only 1 it can get pretty boring pretty quickly.
Borko N — Google review
Not worth it: only come here, if you can enjoy 90% of the rides. For me on 8 September this was 88 euro with parking and safe rental and two sunbeds (2x person). The water was too cold. The lazy river was flowing too slow. I avoid the slides. So only thing left for me is sunbathing but then it absolutely not worth paying so much.

Excellent pizza and carbonara! The large pizza is big enough to serve 2, maybe even 3 people. The service was fantastic, and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommended! P.S. Make sure to come hungry—it’s no joke! 😉

One of the best places in the area! We’ve been coming here for about 15 years, and the food and service have always been excellent 😊

The best pizza in Poreč, for sure! At dinner time the crowd is huge, you have to eat quick. There is no sitting and talking with your friends after dinner here. The stuff is very friendly but always in a hurry. Despite all, still my favourite place by far.

Great cozy, plaze! Amazingly delicious pizza. Great service, fast, smiling, pleasant. The atmosphere waz very nice, pleasantly warm inside, while quite cold outside. Best gnocchi I have ever eaten.

Nov. '23: Taste of food still very good. Staff now much more friendly. The atmosphere is spoiled this time by the price of Radler (0.5 l bottle) €5.5 !!! - pure robbery and totally unfair to customers... Oct. '22 / Mar.'23: Very good pizzas and other dishes also tastes very good. Open all year round what is great. It only spoils the impression that the staff act fairly disinterested.

Well deserved high score on reviews! The staff are so lovely! The food options really make you to want to go back and try everything! Tasty meals, larger than what they seem on the menu ! Good quality! Made in-house 🥰 Lovely atmosphere, so relaxing!

We were on holiday in Porec and were really positively surprised that there is such a good vegan restaurant there. Service was really friendly and courteous. I can only say one thing about the food: it was perfect! I can only recommend it with all my heart!

Thank you dear Artha team for cooking with so much love 🥰 Delicious vegan meals and desserts, friendly staff and lovely ambience. Our recommendation are the Fu variations (especially the one with green pepper sauce) and Panna Cotta. But everything else we tried was also very yummy and most important cruelty-free ❤️

very good vegan kitchen, prices very ok. a little, family owned restaurant with a lot of self-made products. even our kids were happy with their food. a little jewel off the tourist-mainstream. next time we are in porec we will visit Artha again!

While looking for vegan options in Istria this restaurant will pop up quickly, due to already very good reviews, but it’s a rare thing that someone comes with high expectations and the place seems even better, this restaurant does. Lovely owners (family) and very tasty food, good portions and fair prices. Great place for both vegetarians/vegans and those that are not, but are happy to just eat tasty, non-bland vegan food. Will re-visit again on this trip to Istria, and on every subsequent trip.

Cozy family business with super tasty vegan food. The Fu was fantastic and totally go for a desert. Cake and panna cotta fingerlicking good. They know what they’re talking about or should I say what they’re cooking up ;) we had lunch here and food was up super fast for the two of us. Places were cosy and quiet. Nicely shaded and menu in all different languages. Definetly recommended ❤️

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The location is really nice, directly next to the water, offering a beautiful view that makes the dining experience even more special. The food was delicious, with each dish bursting with flavor, and the wine was really good as will. What truly stood out was the friendly and attentive service that made us feel welcomed throughout our visit. Highly recommend!

expensive, good, excellent wines but food was used to be better and more inventive...last 2 years its not that surprising, but more expensive. Price is starting to be more than value...pasta with truffles was very nice, tuna was done correctly but taste was boring and bit smelly...
Tomas D — Google review
We had a lovely dinner at Divino, perfectly located on the promenade in Poreč. The atmosphere was elegant and relaxing. We enjoyed traditional Croatian dishes — including amazing homemade pasta with seabass, capers, and olive oil, which was full of delicate, fresh flavors. As a complimentary treat, we received a delicious truffle cheese spread to start and a traditional Croatian spirit to end the meal. The black risotto, gnocchi with beef, and marinated anchovies were also excellent. The service was friendly and attentive. A truly wonderful dining experience — highly recommended!
Horia S — Google review
I’m very picky and usually the waiters are incredibly annoyed by me asking for things to be made without oil. HOWEVER. the waiters in Divino were accomodating, he went to the kitchen to check the ingredients of a dish, then he assured me multiple times that he told the chef to not add oil. The grilled veggies and squid actually came without any oil and the mixed salad was incredibly refreshing! I was really impressed. Thank you for the great service!

The staff at Divino are amazing. We felt so welcome from the moment we arrived. The waiters moved tables for us to accommodate a large group and were so attentive and kind. We appreciate their strong English, explanation of the menu and help and support with our little ones. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We ate here three times during our holiday and would love to come back again some day. Thank you!

Beautiful restaurant with very friendly staff and great food. Lovely atmosphere and location is to die for. If you can grab yourself a table with a front seat view of the sunset consider yourself lucky ! Their tiramisu especially deserves a shoutout, very light and the portion is just perfect, and an espresso to round out the meal hit the final spot. Well done to the team and the managers 👏🏼

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Divino restaurant! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and our waiter Gabriel truly made the evening special. He was incredibly kind and attentive, helping us find the perfect table with a great view. Gabriel also gave us excellent wine recommendations that perfectly complemented our meal, and he guided us through the menu with thoughtful suggestions. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere cozy and elegant, but Gabriel’s service truly elevated our entire experience. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back!

The waiter was very knowledgeable about wine and made excellent recommendations and even offered us a complimentary after dinner drink. It was nice to sit water side and people watch and relax. The cheese and prosciutto starter was enough to fill us up before dinner arrived.

Nikky T — Google review
Well, we love fine-dine restaurants so we needed to give this one a chance as it is rated close to 4,9☆...but honestly, from our point of view it does not deserve that high rating (we had the 5 course fish and meat menu). We missed the wow effect in nearly all courses, nothing which was amazingly special or unexpected - and those moments need some WOW for that price. Positively to mention the really nice and friendly service and how the dishes are prepared (but taste is not able to compete with the great look), of course also the location itself - still main focus most be the food and this is not as exciting as expected for such an place.

The most beautiful and delicious experience in Poreč! First of all, the staff is really lovely and willing to make any of your desires true. I had as an apperitiv a Gin Tonic, and I could only recommend it due to its rich flavor and amazing presentation. For dinner I got myself the fish menu, which you can see in the pictures, and I dare say it was scrumptious. Every single dish tastes like love and passion. Luckily I also got the wine pairing for every dish, and I was delighted. I am definitely coming back to this wonderful restaurant. If you want to indulge yourself, this is the place to go to.

The best food we had all week in Porec. I had the Tofu Poke, which was a great combination of fresh healthy ingredients. Very filling and tasty. My girlfriend had the Panko Ebi Tempura, which was just exactly what she was looking for. Friendly and welcoming service. Wish we’d discovered it earlier in the week. As we would definitely have been regulars.

We didn't fancy anymore pasta, pizza or potatoes. So it's great to find this little place It's in a quieter side of the old town. Away from the hustle and bustle. Great food and service. We had the tuna tatake, tempura prawns, rice paper rolls and Kung Pao pork to share. All tasted great! On par with what we get in Sydney. Delicious and fresh! . Loved them all. Prices are reasonable too. Would have tried more but we were so full. Highly recommend.

Located in the historical center of Porec Parenzo, Chili Fusion Street Food offers a delightful culinary experience with outdoor seating on a charming pedestrian road. The menu features an enticing selection of Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese dishes, all prepared with fresh ingredients that authentically capture the original flavors. The quality of the food is exceptional. The Yellow Chicken Curry, while slightly watery, was outstanding in taste. The option to add eggs and rice as affordable side dishes is a great addition. The staff is efficient and welcoming, enhancing the overall dining experience. The eco-friendly approach, with food served in recycled paper bowls and wooden cutlery, is commendable. Prices are reasonable, and while portion sizes are decent, those with larger appetites might want to consider ordering appetizers or additional sides. Overall, Chili Fusion Street Food provides a very good dining experience, combining excellent food quality with attentive service and a pleasant atmosphere.

Parking in Poreč centre was a bit of a pain—lots of circling, a bit of swearing. When we finally found the place, we had to wait about 10 minutes to get seated. The sushi was fine—tasty enough, but nothing special. We were hungry, and as expected, sushi isn’t great value when you are. In the end, we paid around 90 euros for two and still didn’t feel totally full. Overall: decent food, but between the parking, the wait, and the price, probably not something we’d rush back for.

Superb place if you want to have a cockail and enjoy the view of the port and the sea. We also loved the small, private areas inside - you really can feel its 600 years. The staff is super nice (thank you Dan for showing us the gorgeous Istrian gins!) Absolutely highly recommended place🌞

Great place to grab a drink in Porec. You get a nice view from on top of the Rotunda while being able to enjoy something truly historical at the same time. There are some nice Istrian specific cocktails on the menu as well as all of the usual suspects. It is truly unique. The indoor seating would be interesting on a cooler day!

Was in Porec for an event and decided to stay an extra day, and go explore the city in the evening. I saw the umbrellas on the top of the old cylindrical building, which looks like a castle, at the port and just hoped it was a bar. It was a bar and what an amazing place. The building is really really old, the spiral stairs are narrow and steep, so fun. Even more fun coming down them after a few cocktails, luckily they are padded in key places to prevent the head from being bumped. The middle floor has the bar and booths which are embedded in the wall, would be really cosy in the winter. We were there in summer so we went right up to the roof. The view of the sunset was amazing, the cocktails were delicious, we were served by a very knowledgeable waiter who helped us chose cocktails, and the service was fast but never rushed. We liked it so much we called some friends to join us and we ordered a bottle of champagne. We went to dinner in the town and then came back again for an after dinner cocktail, it was starting to cool down so the staff brought blankets to keep the girls warm. The drinks were a bit more expensive than other bars in the town, but I had no problem with that, if it had not been, I expect we would not have been able to get in because there would be so many people there. Do t go to Porec without going to Torre Rotondo for a drink ! !

This tower was built in the 15th century by the Venetian authorities. Back then it used to have a military purpose (defend Poreč from the Turkish). Now it has turned into a café. The atmosphere is delightful, you can sip a cocktail or two and you have a wonderful view. What else could you ask for? I recommend this café to all visitors.

The place is great but the service is disappointing. The people working there are polite but we (and people around us) were waiting way too much (more than 40 min) to get very simple orders such as cheese plate or similar. Hope the service gets better because the place has great potential.
Bojana J — Google review
Very beautiful place and nice atmosphere when there is a wine and paint or live music going on. Unfortunately the staff is so unprofessional and rude that I have to give it a 1 star because it kills everything about this place. They question your orders based on their ideological beliefs, if there is no space at the table for your food they don’t try to find a solution but put the plate on a different table far away from you and don’t make the effort to bring the table close to you. There is 0 hospitality in these people (idk if its the low pay they receive each month or what but there is no smile on these people’s faces when they talk to customers, no love for the art of hospitality). On top of everything the cocktails are average even thought the brands that they use are not. It’s such a shame because this place has a good location and looks fabulous. It could easily be a 5 if the staff was good. I’ve been here about 5 times throughout the last three years and always had some bad experience with the staff that I just shrugged off as them being tired. But having a bad experience with them the last two was too much. I wish I took a photo with the plate being far away from me because that was diabolical 😂

Delicious food, perfect garden with lovely decorations and very polite waiters. The fish baked in the oven was really succulent but even though the dish was for 2 you get one fish. The shrimp with almonds were a delicous appatizer. The prices are a bit higher then other restaurants in Porec but I think this one is deffinately worth a try because the food was tasty and you feel like in a fairytale because of the lovely decorated garden.

Getting around Porec can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

Trieste Airport

Airport
International airport
Trieste Airport, located in the capital of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, serves as a gateway to this cosmopolitan city that blends Slavic, Austrian, and Italian cultures. The region boasts traces of ancient Roman civilization and has been revitalized after a devastating earthquake in 1976. Despite its small size, the modern and clean airport offers convenience with quick security procedures and direct access to the train station.
He and his wife mostly use airports in nearby Italy. Of course, due to the much wider availability of flights and competitive prices. Trieste Airport is often among them. Today we flew here from Ireland. A car was waiting for us at the P8 parking lot. We paid €62 for a good five days. Access to the parking lot is connected to the new overpass and it only takes 5 minutes to reach the airport building.
Bogdan M — Google review
I understand that this is a small airport, therefore i wouldn’t expect too much out of the business lounge. But the bare minimum requirements such as water or cleaning should be provided.
Andrea B — Google review
I can’t understand why are so many people complaining about this airport. It’s a refreshment after being on busiest airports in the world. Security is easy and fast, you don’t have to take buses/trains between terminals, there is not a lot of people around, 1st floor area before security is peaceful and nice, coffee and charging is easy to find. People complaining about food options or older facilities need to wake up, this is airport not a restaurant or hotel. You use it to travel between locations and most important thing is that it works and is easy/fast. I traveled here 10+ times and never experienced a problem. One thing I can say - prices in duty free are crazy. That’s why you eat before coming here and bring something with you.
Joe M — Google review
Flight out experience was great: quick security, good shop/duty free, plenty of toilets, but needs a lot more seats (which they have room for). Three stars reflects that there is no water refill tap (basic requirement and making people buy wasteful bottled water), plus the really slow passport control on landing. It took over 20 minutes, despite 3 desks being open and I was in the first 40 people off the plane. Good access to the train station via walkway, assume 10 minutes after passport control (though I ran it in 5!)

My personal experience with this airport was pretty good, I had an early 6 am Sunday flight. I arrived at 5 am, had an instant security check in and then I had time to visit a cafe! Fast, clean, nothing to complain about

Small airport for TRA but with mainly Ryanair flights for domestic and international. ITA airways flies to Rome and Milano Linate.
Tomislav Z — Google review
Bunch of racist staff.. once they realize you're from a poor country they behave very rude: Double checking your luggage on arrival, nitpicking on your personal food items, behaving like you're here to occupy their country, etc. Despite being in many places in Italy, I've never seen such a behavior in any other airport, only this one. Unfortunately, a lot of ICTP visitors, are booked a flight through this particular airport, who they may face an unwelcoming behavior upon their arrival. I'd rather fly to VCE airport, it's just an hour away, a lot cheaper, and more professional!
Ali K — Google review

Pula Airport

International airport
Airport
Pula Airport, with the IATA code PUY and ICAO code LDPL, is an international airport situated in Pula, Croatia. It serves as the largest airport in Istria County and the third-largest in Croatia. The airport is conveniently located just 6 km (3.7 mi) from the city center of Pula.
The airport security queue can be very long, would suggest getting there earlier than you would want to. The seating area is small and gets full extremely quickly. Duty-free is expensive, aswell as the sweet and salty bar. Only a heads-up for you. On the plus side, there is a nice big smoking/viewing area. No seating FYI.
A C — Google review
As someone who travels frequently – both individually and with organized groups – I’ve visited airports across the world, including in countries with far fewer resources than Croatia. Unfortunately, Pula Airport ranks among the worst I’ve experienced. The airport is extremely small and completely unfit to handle the current volume of passengers. Instead of focusing on basic passenger needs, most of the limited space is dedicated to shops and restaurants. There are only two toilets in the entire terminal – this is unacceptable and disrespectful to travelers. The level of safety is also concerning. In the event of an emergency, evacuation would be chaotic, if not impossible. The check-in and boarding systems are outdated, there are not enough seats, and many passengers are forced to sit on the floor. The facilities are old, worn down, and far below the standards one would expect in the EU – yet prices remain fully in line with other European airports. I strongly urge the airport authorities to take immediate action – either expand and modernize the facility or limit the number of flights it handles. An airport like this should not be operating under current conditions within the European Union. It’s a disgrace.
Rafał — Google review
Very small airport, going though security was fine, but quite a long wait to get through. It’s close to the city centre of Pula, but I could not find bus stops near by, tried to walk to bus stop showing in Google maps, but it was not there. Lots of taxi drivers next to airport, but quite expensive. I paid £32 to get to my apartment hotel. Once you get through security there is only one board to find out when your flight is boarding. When I had almost 2 h before the flight it did not show any updates till 20 min before departing my flight. No gates get shown on the board and when it was time to rush through to the gate, which was only announced by my micro fob. It was quite hard to hear and it did not how even on board that my flight is boarding. There is a seating area, but because it’s so busy you can’t even get a seat. There is one restaurant for food. The one thing I liked in this airport was their shops. So if you’re looking to get some souvenirs, drinks, cigarettes etc you can buy them there. Quite pricey, but good selection.

Small, efficient airport, friendly staff. On Sunday around noon it was not crowded, there is a café before and after the security check (but offering just small snacks). Toilets at arrival area aren't in good condition, the other toilets were quite OK. Cheapest 0,5 liter water is 3,50€. At our Ryanair flight the size of cabin bags was not checked.

Cute little airport. Very small, but indoor waiting area has lots of tables and chairs which are free to sit at. Coffee cost €3.70 but other canned drinks expect closer to €5. Small duty free shop and cafe inside. Passport control and security went quick with no bags to check in. There are bike racks outside the entrance so you can cycle here and lock your bike if living nearby and popping away for a few days. We emailed to ask about the bike racks and had an instance response from someone at pula airport. Ryan air flight was super delayed with no updates- they kept saying final boarding but there wasn’t even a plane to board haha

Assume this is a quaint if not unremarkable airport most of the time. Has a cafe either side of security etc. However (get ready), the day we visited definitely ranks in the worst airport experiences to date. Arrived just over 2 hours early for a flight to Stansted. There was a single passport gate, one security conveyor and some kind of technical issue that meant the queue was maybe 400-500 people long. It zigzagged inside the check-in area and even went outside. No information. No announcements. It took us over an hour to edge forward 2 metres. When an announcement did happen, it caused everyone in the queue to rush the security area, causing a crush of confusion and chaos. Brilliant. Hilariously, the managers in hi-viz literally walked out of the building leaving one enterprising chap from the check-in desk to run over to stand at the front and attempt to filter out and prioritise flights as they got near (or passed) their departure times. It was a brilliant case study of now not to deal with a problem, especially from the managers. Appalling behaviour. It would have been so easy to regain order by creating queues related to each flight and checking them through in priority order. Luckily (!) our flight was delayed by an hour and was also the last flight out. We finally made it to the gate just as the delayed plane arrived and the staff literally threw protocol to the wind, opened the door to the runway apron, disappeared (again). Passengers just walked through, no scanning boarding passes and passports. That said, probably saved another 3 hours. As we boarded, the hi-viz managers conveniently appeared, stood at a distance, arms crossed, not doing anything. All very peculiar behaviour. I make a point of not really getting stressed in these situations, as it doesn’t help, but this one tested that philosophy somewhat. Well done to the chap who took it upon himself to sort *everything* out while his colleagues deserted him. So there you go, a review of Pula airport. Maybe get there 5 hours before, just in case. Or maybe it’ll be fine. That is the Pula roulette.

6 hour delay by EasyJet left hundreds literally asleep at Pula airport. Scheduled for 21.20 take off and finally left at 03.30. No reasons given. See how relaxed we all felt!

I wish all airports were like this. Spotlessly clean, easy to navigate and stress free.
