Magical monastery and a beautiful church to worship God. Saint Paisios is one of the holiest men to have ever lived. There is plenty of parking available for everyone. Mind you that on weekends the monastery gets a lot of visitors and if you want to buy any memorabilia, you will need to bring cash.
Visiting the monastery of St John the Theologian, and all the monasteries in the region is a blessed experience. Come with faith and patience. Attention: shorts should not be worn by anyone(of all ages). Men should wear pants, women should wear longer skirts. We waited an hour to venerate the grave of St Paisios. It was peaceful and prayerful. Patience abound, it was a blessed experience with tremendous hospitality by the Gerondissa and nuns. The schedule is strict, and also accurate on Google maps. May the Saints pray for us.
A beautiful byzantine style church close to Thesaloniki. The monastery is the home of a congragation of nuns. You can find the tomb of Saint Paisios of the Holy Mount of Athos. You can also worship here the relics of Saint Arsenios of Cappadocia. The scenery is stunning. The entry is free but the visitation is limited to some days abd hours. Check before traveling
Visiting the grave of Elder Paisios had long been a dream of mine, and by God’s grace, that dream finally came true. I am deeply grateful to Sister Marina for her kindness and her gift—it truly meant a lot to me. I hope, God willing, to return here again, but this time with my family. May the Lord bless you!
Monastery opened 10 am and we were there waiting 9.30. About 20 cars and 2 buses were there before us. Only 40 min waiting to the Saint Paisios grave. Toodler waited also patiencently. Beautiful and holy place, the church was magnificent!
Beautiful blessed place run by lovely nuns. It's a calm place and easy to drive and park your car in. It also has Agios Arsenios' relics inside the church. It was a wonderful surprise, but since Paisios wrote about him, it makes sense. It is strict with clothes entry but advertises this on their website. This monastary was built by Paisios and the nuns to be run as strictly as Athos for them on their request. I got a few lovely photos that I asked to take. No video. The nuns give you some blessed holy oil and they have a lovely gift shop with books in many languages. We bought some lovely icons, prints, books and prayer bracelets. Cash only, no card. Thank you, my family loved the experience. So happy to visited ☺️ 🙏❤️
A very beautiful monastery with a special emotional charge. Once you reach the monastery, it seems to call you to prayer. God help us! May our faith in God be strengthened by St. Paisios the Athonite
This beautiful monastery houses the tomb of the great elder St. Paisios. There are so many people everyday waiting to venerate this saint, so there's a crowd and queue. You'll have to wear long sleeves. No shorts are allowed, especially to enter the beautiful church. The nuns there are so loving. I recommend buying the books of St. Paisios - they are filled with so much spiritual wisdom.
