Perfect Family Spot with Something for Everyone Victoria Park in Kitchener is a fantastic place for families! The playground is well-maintained and has plenty of space for kids to play. My children love the swings and slides, and there’s even a small lake where you can rent paddle boats during the warmer months. The walking trail around the lake is peaceful and offers beautiful views, especially at sunrise or sunset. It’s a perfect blend of nature and recreational activities. Whether you’re there to enjoy a picnic, take a leisurely walk, or simply let the kids play, Victoria Park has something for everyone. Highly recommend it!
It’s beautiful view all together in winter. Beware of ice covered on the lake, read instructions carefully. Dog unleash area etc. winter trails are beautiful. Summer vibes are different all together. Overall nice park for every season of the year.
A wonderful play area suited for all ages. Great paths, benches, water features and trees. Lots of picnic tables and benches to sit and enjoy nature. It was a pretty good place. It has low grass, tall trees, waterside and fountains. Absolutely beautiful park, with great walking trails and a playground area with a children's water play area.
Victoria Park is a historic and vibrant green space that serves as a central hub for community activities and leisure. Established in 1896, it is the oldest park in Kitchener and has since become a cherished landmark. The park spans 19 acres and offers a wide range of amenities and attractions that cater to diverse interests and age groups. One of the park's most notable features is its picturesque lake, which is home to various waterfowl and provides a serene backdrop for leisurely strolls and picnics. The iconic iron bridge, which crosses the lake, is a popular spot for photography and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. In addition to the natural beauty, Victoria Park boasts several historical monuments, including the Boer War Memorial and the clock tower, which add to its charm and significance. For those seeking recreation, the park offers numerous facilities such as playgrounds, sports fields, and tennis courts. The pavilion and bandstand are often used for concerts and community events, making the park a lively gathering place. During the summer, visitors can enjoy outdoor festivals, markets, and cultural events that highlight the vibrant spirit of Kitchener's community. Victoria Park is also a popular spot for walking, jogging, and cycling, with well-maintained paths that wind through the lush greenery. The park's beautifully landscaped gardens, complete with colorful flowerbeds and mature trees, provide a tranquil setting for relaxation and reflection. Whether you're looking for an active day out or a peaceful retreat, Victoria Park offers
Best neigbourhood park I ever had. So peaceful on weekdays but busy on weekends. There are lots of benches and desks to relax . Centre of attraction is the lake with beautiful birds including swans. Would love to talk a walk around the lake always
Beautiful park with lots of wildlife. Especially in the spring when the Canada goose come home and have their goslings. There’s a pair of white swans here that seems to play nice with the goose. Also a very nice giant playground for the kids here!
It's calm, senic, very close to the down town and lots of space to sit down and relax. Many activities and events take place in the park during summer time. Great place to take a walk, picnic, bring the family, do wedding photo's or just ride your bike. It's the natural backdrop of Kitchener. It's worth the visit.
I really enjoyed this park. It is a great place to visit with the family. Very serene with great views, bridges, playground, outdoor gym, splash pad and picnic areas. We also found ourselves at a ribfest that was being held at the park grounds. The only downside is the parking. During busy times, it is very hard to find parking.

Museum
Heritage museum
Museum featuring exhibits on Waterloo's history, plus the 24-acre Doon Heritage Village.
Slide 1 of 8
The Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum is a large and well-maintained museum, great for both learning and photography. I recently visited for a photoshoot and found the exhibits well-organized and informative. One highlight was the train model, which was detailed and fascinating to see. The admission price is $12 for adults, which is reasonable for the experience. There are exhibits related to St. Mary’s Hospital, showcasing interesting medical aspects for the visitors. The museum is especially good for kids, offering free events and educational programs. I previously attended a summer camp here, which was a fun and enriching experience. In the winter, the outdoor areas are closed, which is something to keep in mind if you’re planning a visit. However, there is still plenty to see indoors. The museum does a great job preserving local history and making it engaging for visitors of all ages. Overall, this is a fantastic place to explore, whether for learning, photography, or family outings. If you’re in the Waterloo region, it’s definitely worth a visit!
Quaint little Museum. Some interesting local history. Went during March break around 3 o’clock. They had some cool daily activities that week. Didn’t realize they closed at 4 PM and we were not warned at the front so we had to rush through the museum in about 15 minutes following our 30min planetarium activity with the University of Guelph. Sufficient parking and easy to find otherwise. Great location to grab food down the street.
Fun visit with friends last week on a PD day. It was sad to see very few people here. Inside is a very beautiful exhibit of local Waterloo region history and artifacts. VERY disappointed, though, that the pioneer village has been closed for so long. You are able to walk around and see the outside of the buildings, but that's about it. These days, this generation needs to know how people lived back then, before technology. We need immersive history lessons and displays. I hope the village opens again soon.
such a great place to learn about Waterloo, sad to see that there wasn’t that many people visiting on a weekend. tickets are discounted for UW students! would love to visit the heritage village when it opens next year ☺️
Is a great place for kids to have birthday parties, tours and learn about Waterloo history. It’s important for us to have heritage of the region celebrated and this place does it very well in a beautifully designed building and exterior Martin house and town centre. Lots to do and see. Won’t be disappointed.
Well maintained museum of Waterloo Region history. It was very quiet on Civic Day Monday. Great place to visit no matter how long you lived in the region. Unfortunately the doon village ground is closed for the summer.
Very inviting exhibitions, I really liked how they are designed to grab a visitor's attention. The video installation about immigration experiences and the Hazel wheel became my favorite pieces
The Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum is a standout destination for photographers who appreciate architecture, history, and storytelling through space and design. As the largest community museum in Ontario, it offers a compelling mix of modern exhibits, heritage structures, and vibrant visual contrasts that make it a rewarding site to explore with a camera. The museum’s architecture itself is a work of art — sleek, contemporary, and filled with natural light. Its glass façade reflects the surrounding greenery and shifting skies, while inside, clean lines and open layouts create beautiful compositions that highlight both form and function. Photographers interested in architectural detail will find plenty of inspiration in the interplay between glass, wood, and steel throughout the building. Beyond the modern design, the museum connects directly to Doon Heritage Village, a meticulously restored early 20th-century living history site. This outdoor area is a treasure trove of photo opportunities: dirt paths winding between period buildings, heritage gardens, wooden barns, and costumed interpreters who bring the past to life. Each corner feels authentic and atmospheric, especially in the soft light of morning or golden hour. Inside the museum, exhibitions explore the story of the Waterloo Region through artifacts, interactive displays, and vivid installations. Low-light photography skills can be put to good use here, capturing the textures of old machinery, the glow of display lighting, or intimate details of historical objects. Throughout the year, the museum hosts seasonal events — from vintage festivals to holiday celebrations — that add lively, candid photographic subjects. The mix of architecture, landscape, and human presence makes it equally suitable for wide environmental shots and close, story-driven portraits. For photographers, the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum offers more than just visuals — it’s a dialogue between past and present, structure and story. Whether you’re capturing the minimalist modernity of the main building or the rustic charm of the heritage village, it’s one of southern Ontario’s most visually and historically rewarding locations.

My kids and I loved it!!! There are only a few places that my teens and tween can really all love together, and this place is one of them! We had a delightful day together!! This place isn't perfect, but I give them 5 stars for giving us such a wonderful day!! I'll list the pros and cons below. Pros: Their purple slide was incredibly fun! It was so nice to be able to share the ride with one of my kids each time. The other slides that you go down face forward were pure fun as well, and I was able to go down at the same time with all of my kids -- such a great design! Cons: Avoid the weekend. The wave pool was so packed that I couldn't actually swim for 90% of the time. I had to just continuously maintain position. The prices for the food are out of this world. Keep food in your car and walk back to it; they allow you to go in and out. They do a full inspection of your bags when you come in. Also, their website specifically says that they have lockers. I was relying on that. However, when we got there, they said that lockers weren't available for use. It was annoying having to sit there guarding our stuff; my teens so kindly took turns with me so I could participate. ❤️ Also, there wasn't a lot of shade at the picnic tables. The lineups for the slides were also very long. In addition, the path that you had to cross to get to the 1st lineup for the purple slide was painful to cross. They need to do something about that rocky ground! Note: I took most of the pictures at closing time to avoid having people in my pictures. The shots don't reflect how busy it was.
We arrived around opening time on a Thursday and had plenty of options for seating. The water was not freezing, and there were basically 4 rides (for grown-ups) plus the tidal pool, but since there weren't too many people earlier in the day we could enjoy them as much as we wanted. It got really busy when the summer camp kid groups arrived, though. Bring an umbrella if you plan on arriving later. Only gave it 4 stars due to ride options (a lazy river would be nice) als the inconsistency of rule allocation by the lifeguards - I would go down something with a necklace/sunglasses/ring, and the next lifeguard would tell me to remove them before going down 2 minutes later.
We just spent a week there at the camping ground!! We had the Best time!! We did the ultimate play and stay package. Its well worth it. There is so much for the kids to do!! We were a family of 5 and the package is for a family of 4. So we bought a season pass that was worth the cost as well. Wish we could have just added to the package but not a deal breaker. The water park was great. We have 3 boys 12 10 and 6 and they all had plenty to do!! The lifeguards are all super friendly and lots of them. So you feel safe!! I had read on another review that the person didn't have a great time because of all the campers. Yes the campers where there for like 1.5 hours in the day. We just asked when they would be in the pool and went and did something else for that time and then went back, it didn't bother us at all. (Thursdays there are a couple of other day camp groups that come for the day. Just so people are aware) The only thing I would have liked to see differently is that the campers pool have later hours(even if it was use at your own risk) and also allow people to use a floaty (they have tubes in the wave pool, so it didn't make sense why we couldn't use a float in the camping pool) just my thoughts. They have so much land still that I hope they expand and make more slides. And more smaller slides that the little ones can do. I hope they put one in where the old slide was beside the purple one. The pictures of the old slide looked amazing. But we had a great time and we will be back!
We have had seasons passes for the last 3 years. While the kids enjoy the slides and wave pool, it is clear that an update is needed. The concrete is uneven in spots, and the age of the slides shows. Going early or after 4pm is best because it is less crowded. The camps take over the pool once a day, so it is very busy then. You cannot bring in your own food and the food choices there are limited. Overall, it is a lot of fun. The slides are great. There is good variety of swimming/water activities. The staff is always alert, kind, and helpful. The seasons pass is a great deal and provides lots of perks. But it is time for an update.
We had an excellent time at Bingemans Water Park! It’s a super fun place for kids and families, our children had a blast, and we enjoyed it just as much. There were many lifeguards paying close attention, which made us feel safe and comfortable. Highly recommended for a fun family day!
I went with a 6 year old and two 8 year olds. With the wave pool, the slides and kid area, this place kept us all busy and having fun for the entire day! Will be back again!
We have been to Bingemans a few times over the years. We have always enjoyed the campgrounds, the water park and the amenities. This time was no different, the kids always have a blast, and are beat out by the end of the day. The staff and life guards were great, helpful and attentive. Some parts of the park are showing it’s age, but they seem to do a great job keeping it up and making the grounds look nice. Would definitely recommend for a family trip, a great camping experience and days full of fun. Especially for younger kids.
It is a nice place to go during the week. However, I would never visit the waterpark on the weekend due to the size of the place It is kind of small for the amount of people they let in. It was busy during the week and felt pack, I can’t imagine how it gets on the weekend It’s also kind of pricy. I went on Thursday since they had a discount (almost half of the price) but the regular price is expensive for what you get

So full disclosure I used my canoo app to gain entry which is free. But for four people it’s around $40 which is not bad because you get so spend unlimited time here. I highly recommend this for children and toddlers. There are multiple levels. And each day a show for the younger crowd. On the day we went it was a dinosaur show which everyone enjoyed. If you go in the morning it’s not crowded at all the rush around started post lunch time and we left by then. There’s nursing room on the 3rd floor. And almost each floor you will find seating. You are allowed to bring your own meal and eat at the ground floor. Don’t miss out the science section in the basement. So much fun. They also rent out for birthdays and events which I believe is fun for children. Stroller friendly place. tonnes to Do. There’s ball pit and painting and water games. Lots of fun. Easily can spend 3-4 hours here.
The sold out Mac and Cheese and Beer Fest was probably the most amazing event I’ve been to in KW. It was my 5th time and as many have pointed out the new pricing model and fewer vendors definitely impact the quality of the experience negatively. I hope there is someone on staff with institutional memory going back to say 2018 who would be willing to recreate that vibe. We will still come back in the future but we hope that the event will go back to the old model of being able to sample more or less all products. In other words I would like to feel stuffed before I ran out of coupons and not have to do mental math which samples I can “afford”. I would be happy to pass this feedback through other channels if those exist.
Had a nice visit! This place is great for 10 and under. Schools bring kids here. However, there are quite a few interesting things for a kid in their early teens. My early teen enjoyed her day! It takes about 2.5-3 hours to do everything in this 3 level museum. There is also a makerspace in the basement; some activities in the basement are extra, and some are free. We paid around $11 to make a kaleidoscope craft that is supposed to add to the kaleidoscope exhibit. It didn't really add much to the exhibit, but it was a good craft to do where she learned to drill with a power drill. It took about 50 min. to make it. It was kind of like a Kiwi kit. My daughter seemed pleased with it. When my kids were young, we got a membership, and it was definitely worth it! Younger kids love the water table! Tip: Make sure you ask when the StarLab Star Show times are. They didnt tell me at the front desk, so we were in the basement of the building in the Makerspace, and we didn't want to leave our craft half done when we heard the announcement, so we had to wait around for the later show time. 2 show times currently: 11:30 & 2:30. Show was 22 min in length. My teen loved the vortex tunnel! Washrooms: Yes, there are washrooms on every level. Their main floor's washrooms had run out of soap though. They had added a lot of water to a dispenser, and there was virtually no soap. The water table was filled with bugs or something. See my pics. Food: There is no food here except slushies in the store in The Museum. There is a vending machine, but it is broken. You are allowed to bring your own lunch here, and there are picnic tables on every level. The main floor has also chairs, high chairs, and a water bottle filling station. Parking: You can park at Duke Street paid Parking Garage and walk directly into the museum from the main level of the garage. This is your best option. You can get 2 hour free street parking near The Museum. Wheelchair accessibility: They have elevators on every floor.
Great experience for our kids to explore and take part in a lot of interactive activities. Exhibit flows well from one to the next - will definitely visit again.
Absolutely phenomenal experience! Today was my son’s very first day at THEMUSEUM day camp, and I honestly can’t say enough good things. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so kind, welcoming, and engaging. The facility itself is incredible creative, vibrant, and full of hands-on learning opportunities. What truly blew me away was how much my son loved it. He didn’t want to leave at the end of the day — which, as a parent of a child who faces some mental health struggles, is amazing to see. It’s not often he connects so quickly with a new place or group, but the environment and staff clearly made him feel safe, excited, and included. Huge thanks to the team at THEMUSEUM for creating such a positive, inspiring space for kids. We’ll absolutely be back you’ve made a lasting impression on both of us! 💛
Was not that busy so kids were able to experience all activities. This museum is more suitable to younger children so if you have mix age groups, may not be the best. Overall, I did enjoy seeing my little explorer having fun!
I took my 3 1/2 year old grandson. He had a great time! All kinds of interactive experiences for him, A perfect couple of hours for a high energy toddler. The first thing he saw when we walked in was a big open room with giant, soft blocks. That was it, he was off climbing them! The staff were all very friendly. Parking garage with easy access to The Museum. I would take him back.
We visited on a Monday at 10:10am. They open at 10:00. It was empty. We paid $16.99 for seniors, which is 55 and up. She asked to see ID. There’s 4 floors and washrooms on each floor. This place is great for parents with kids. There isn’t much to do for adults. We did the virtual short movie- 9 minutes on the jungle meets the water. There’s 4 movies and some are 13 minutes long. You could spend close to an hour here if you watch all 4 movies. It’s not suitable for people who have vertigo because you can get dizzy. I also liked the immersive room. Kids will really like this room. The gift shop was closed at 11:00 and the employee said to give it another 20 minutes till opening. We did not see the dinosaur or some of the other stuff posted on their website. But I read that they change their exhibits from time to time. There also is no place to get something to eat. There was an area that said lounge with lots of chairs but that was closed. The place has elevators and is wheel chair accessible. There is parking connected to the museum and we paid $7 for 2 hours. We arrived an hour before the museum opened and were shocked to see a lot of homeless people walking around or in groups in front of some stores. And you could clearly some were high on drugs. Very sad. We didn’t feel safe to walk around. So we went into a coffee shop across from the museum. Later we saw a few police cars and some of the people seemed to move to another area. But this museum is worth the visit and we’re glad we did.

Chicopee was a pleasant experience, it was our first time there. The lift tickets are priced competitively to other similar sized facilities. The lodge and lift lines were properly staffed and flowing well. The hill was maintained nicely while we were there. We would recommend Chicopee and will be going back .
Great place to start if you’re a beginner. Hills are well maintained and groomed. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Their rentals are really high quality and name brand. The magic carpet at the beginner centre is not working due to the place waiting on parts. The wait times for the lifts were not bad on Saturday. The staff were very fair when organizing the flow of people on the lifts. Only 1 out of the 2 lifts were available. Would’ve love to see more trail maps around. Restaurant and quick stop and go available. Plenty of options from mains, snacks, and drinks to choose from. Pricing for food was reasonable.
We have been here a few times over the years and always had a good experience, staff is helpful, the lineups are never too big(on the days we go), the terrain is a good mix for beginners - intermediate. March 9 and the base was deep, snow soft in the sun - 2024/2025 winter will be one for the books. I cannot speak to the cafeteria, or food options as we packed our own. I’ve been skiing and snowboarding for 30 years in Ontario but we always went up north - however, as I’ve learned recently, Chicopee appears to be the best choice in the area (within 1 hour of Hamilton.
An engaging introductory skiibg experience. A trainer provides encouragement and support for the initial two slides. Independent learning commences from the third segment onward. The session's advertised 50-minute duration is misleading; instructional content comprises only 30 minutes. The $120 fee represents poor value for an ineffective group session. Accompanying an experienced individual is recommended to enhance the learning experience.
Chicopee is a great place for kids to learn to ski! My boys had a fantastic time - friendly and patient instructors made the lessons enjoyable, and the manageable hill size was perfect for young beginners. Even on weekends, the lift lines weren’t too long.
Cute ski hill with just enough hills for a day of skiing! Perfect for beginners and enough of a challenge on their black diamond. The staff are so kind and helpful. My daughter's come here for lessons and after many tears before their first lesson they were reluctant to leave after their first lesson. They loved it and we're hooked after lesson #1. The parents typically ski while kids are in their lesson or enjoy a glass of wine in the lodge. Food is excellent as well! And live music in the evening! Love it.
Great place to learn how to ski. Especially great for younger children who can take advantage of the fantastic learning to ski programs offered at this hill. Best part is that it’s so close to the GTA and offers really convenient access. Basically you can pull up right next to the hill, unload all your gear and get ready for the day. The restaurant offers a really good breakfast at a reasonable price which is perfect for parents waiting on their kids who are enrolled in ski lessons. Highly recommend this place. Good stepping stone before hitting the bigger hills. Gives kids and adults a level of comfort and ability to practice their skills.
This is a good learning hill. It's small and the lines are long, but it's a good local option without having to drive far on a weekly basis for lessons for the kids. There are three lifts and depending on who is working them, often, each chair is not at capacity (i.e. there is only one or two people on the 3- or 4-person chairlift). I get some people may not be comfortable sharing, but that contributes to the long lines. The staff have been kind and helpful, as my daughter was more advanced than her initial group and the instructors had no problems changing her group. We have our own equipment, so I can't speak to the rental experience, but I see the line-ups are often long. There's a small terrain park that the kids enjoy, and which typically has a much shorter line-up. The staff keep some fires going outside, which is a nice way to warm up the hands a bit in-between runs. Again, it's a good hill to learn to ski, but if you're a regular skier, you'll find the runs short and will likely find a better experience elsewhere. Still, it's a good option to spend a day out with the family.

I had a lovely time here. If you love to know about the history of old buildings and places, you must visit this village. My kids loved it. They also have activity tables for kids where they can make art and crafts.
It's been many years since I've been here. It was interesting to see how the people had lived thier lives back then. You seen how they dressed, worked and schooling. We have come along ways since then. But it's nice to see the history they had here along time ago.
Doon Village Heritage is a hidden gem! The historic buildings, costumed staff, and hands-on activities bring Ontario’s past to life in a fun and engaging way. It’s beautifully maintained, educational, and perfect for families or anyone who loves history. Great for School Trips, Family Time and Events. Highly recommended!
i visited the village earlier with my family and we had a blast! it was so interesting to be able to see what the people of the past used to live like! the guides were all very informative and were more than willing to answer any questions they were asked
I’ve loved this place since I was a kid. Since moving out of Kitchener, I’ve brought friends and now my own children here multiple times. It’s really a gem!
So good to do the lantern tour, missed being inside the homes, enjoyed the interaction with interpreters outside & apple cider & shortbread cookie
Went for a kids Halloween event, paid quite a bit of money and it was a huge disappointment. Only two of the little stores in the village were open, there wasn’t much to see at all. It was supposed to be a trick or treating event but my kids got maybe 5 small pieces of candy. Not at all worth it for the price.
The staff are very friendly, so many good things to see here and everything is so well-planned. A good place to bring kids.

Kid friendly, picnic friendly. This trail is well marked and well maintained! Large grassy areas for play and picnic. For those looking for a hike the park has 6 easy trails. The marks are easy to find and follow. The trails are very well maintained! Also, the red trail is paved and wheelchair accessible. The others vary from gravel to dirt. Regular shoes can do well on all these trails but prefer to use hiking shoes for the dirt only trails. The trail around the lake had plaques telling the story of a turtle and its community! It's a great way to get children excited about finding the next piece of the story on the trail.
I recently hiked this trail on a crisp afternoon, and it exceeded expectations! The trail was incredibly well-maintained, making for a smooth and enjoyable journey. The Autumn colors were breathtaking, with vibrant hues of orange, red, and yellow surrounding me every step of the way. If you're looking for a scenic and relaxing hike during the fall season, look no further! This trail is a must-visit.
A peaceful and well-maintained community space, ideal for picnics, relaxation, and enjoying nature. It features scenic walking trails, a family-friendly programs, and various programs at the community center. The park is clean, beautifully landscaped. It's a tranquil spot that doesn't get too crowded, making it a perfect place for a quiet visit.

This place is a regular for my wife and I. Excellent place for hike and good space to hangout with friends and family. Has restroom and sufficient parking area. Do be careful of the mosquitoes and make sure you keep a track of the way you get into the trail, it’s a little confusing and dark in some areas.
Beautiful trails to walk mornings and evenings. Great views of trees and ponds with turtles of you are lucky to spot. It gets colder as you enter the dense trails, good to carry a jacket or sweater even in spring and autumn! Kids have a sand play area and restrooms if needed. Few parking spots in the entry, might have to wait.
The trail takes you through a stunning, densely forested area. The beauty of nature truly shines during the fall season. The trail surrounds a well-maintained, tiny pond, and there’s even a natural play area for kids to enjoy. Keep in mind that during peak seasons, the parking lot tends to fill up quickly, so street parking might be necessary.
This place is simply spectacular, especially in the fall when the leaves turn into a stunning array of reds, oranges, and yellows. It feels like stepping into a painting! The trails are well-kept and perfect for everyone. The presence of people and their activity further enhances your visit, making it even more enjoyable.

Very fun, not at all what I expected. Was here for a birthday on the weekend. The kids enjoyed crafts and the play room. Unrelated to the kids, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they support women's health boxes in the bathroom. These need to be everywhere.❤️🙌🏼
We visited Schneider Haus National Historic Site on a Sunday afternoon. The house is 169 years old, and it’s open Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Normally, admission is $7 for adults, $4 for kids (5–12), and free for kids under 4. They also have a family pass for $16 (two adults and dependent kids). We got a library pass, so it was free for us! Parking was easy and free, right across from the museum on Queen Street. It wasn’t crowded at all, and the staff were super nice and welcoming. Photography is allowed inside. Only the main floor was open to visitors — the second floor (through the front door) is just for staff. On the main floor, there’s a kids’ area with lots of crafts and games, and even a birthday party area. It’s a fun little spot for younger kids. If you go left after entering, you reach the old house part — it felt a little spooky! Staff mentioned that all ghost rumours are just fake stories. The rooms are clean, but the lower level was really cold and honestly felt pretty creepy to me. Maybe you’ll feel its normal though :D
What an absolute gem! First time visiting with my four young children and we had a wonderful time. The front portion of the main building is historic with artifacts. The back portion of the building has three new spaces for children to explore, a maker space, and two play spaces. The spaces kept my little ones (ages range from 3-8) engaged for hours and they still didn't want to leave. There are also outdoor spaces and buildings to explore on a tour. The March Break kitchen science experiments were very engaging and we all learned a lot. The staff and volunteers were absolutely wonderful - very knowledgeable and patient. They engaged well with the children. There is a little gift shop and a few snacks and drinks to purchase.
On Sunday, I attended a cheesy bread making class at Scneider Haus. The instructor was friendly. The recipe was easy to follow and really yummy. While the dough was rising, we got to have snacks and explore the historic location. The bread was baked in a historic wood burning oven. We had an amazing time. Would strongly recommend. Great for all ages.
This was one of the first homes built in Waterloo region, by Mennonites from Pennsylvnia in 1816. We went on a Sunday morning, tickets were cheap, and there were no crowds. Inside, the original interior is well preserved with plenty of artifacts, giving a glimpse of daily life back in the day. Several friendly staff members were walking around, offering to give tours and answer any questions you may have about the house's history and the family that once inhabited it. There is no parking on-site, instead it is recommended to park near Victoria Park, and the house is not wheelchair accessible, due to its age.
It was part of Open Doors Ontario 2025. You were able to tour the house and its grounds. As well as ask questions they were individuals on hand to ask questions. Mr. Schneider was the founder of Schneiders meats.
Beautifully maintained and lots to view! I wish there were more tour guides or if they were located in varying locations throughout the property. I couldn’t access the app to tell me the history of the home so we just viewed. I would return but would schedule a tour or plan better next time by ensuring I could access all information to make the history come alive.
Great place to spend a few hours with the family. $18 including tax for a family of 4 Free parking available across the street They have a new modern play/craft area that is wonderful for children. Many craft materials including clay, tape, glue, scissors, cardboard, popsicle sticks, markers, paint sticks, paper, etc The staff working there is also super kind.

We had to come here to get our secure bike parking key fobs, and the service was excellent! A kind employee greeted us at the front door and asked us what we would like to do. When we told her, she led us to the service counter, where we retrieved appointment tickets. She then sat us down at the correct waiting area where we were to receive our fobs. The staff member giving out fobs was amicable and informative. When asked about parking hours at city hall, she tried her best to answer and even asked security to verify the details for us. In addition, the building is clean and modern, with accessible washrooms available for the public during opening hours.
Constant battle to clean out the mess made by homeless problem. Area could use more petrol as tent city resident coming over from Victoria and Webber screaming and high. Does not make a good impression for visitors visiting the city.
8th June 2025 Sunday I had parked my car in front of my home and went inside the house at near 5:50 pm and at 6:12 pm and officer gave me a ticket his name is K Costello and gave me a parking ticket now on the same road I see one more car parked that car was not give ticket but my car was given a ticket Chevrolet Malibu I complain about it however I don't have time to dispute but city of kitchener is giving ticket randomly to anybody now today I saw a car parked in front of me and inform them nobody dare to give ticket to that car. Are you biases giving tickets to vehicles. If this happens to anyone else please dispute and fight back. Thank you for reading. 🙏
Dear governor I have bought a kitchen sink today. Let no plumber suffer my fate. To the city of kitchener Waterloo. No Indian will say it is as if to all men. Let the government pay a policing service and enforce its law upon the land. That is my decree.
Kitchener City Hall, located conveniently downtown Kitchener for all of your city affairs, from permission issuance to paying for your traffic violation tickets ( if this happens.) It has a great architecture design, and the spacious area at front get busy in summer as it gets occupied by many organizations when events like food and music festivals take place in the city. I only wish if they have more security to control some activities that might take place in and around the building. The water fountain is a great work that gives a wonderful view and it's turned to an ice skating spot in winter time!
Edit: How is a 20% over year tax increase acceptable when the city/ Region provides worsening services year after year. This is criminal and nobody gets held accountable! The city of Kitchener is an embarrassment on every level. I would like to know why our street was unnecessarily made 5' thinner to the point a firetruck cannot get down the street with cars legally parking each side. I am making this known for when there ever is an issue, the city is going to be hugely liable. Busses and trucks have already been stuck multiple times with nowhere to go. Residents, if your street is being done, I recommend reaching out to stop and correct this before the failed infrastructure reaches your area. Of course, when reaching out to the city during construction or after the fact, nobody provides a proper answer to these concerns. The people making these mindless decisions never get held liable and we are the ones that lose. Even though it is our money wasted. Do better Kitchener and stop wasting our hard-earned money hiring grossly incompetent people to work on infrastructure design projects way over their head. Nothing against the construction company who was great and when speaking with them, they are stuck constructing whatever the brainless muffs designed.
Great architecture. On "Hero's Reborn" excellent views North & South on King & quick walk West to Victoria park.
It's really nice to spend the end of the day here, watching the kids running around on the water splash and enjoying a nice meal from Yo sushi

A hidden gem in Kitchener. The historical house is only open October-December but the grounds are open year round. There's a covered patio area with lots of tables and seating as well as a large nicely groomed lawn/ perfect for gatherings with friends and family. Surrounding the area is a beautiful old-growth area with well maintained foot paths and an old train track. We saw lots of blue Jays!
Did not actually visit the museum due to it being off season, but this is such a hidden gem of an area in terms of nature. My only concern is the fountain/pond that REALLY needs to be emptied and refilled. Definitely a lot of algae and still water that could be harbouring serious mosquitoes
This is an excellent place to walk or bring a lunch! The building and grounds near it are very well kept. The farther areas near the train tracks are sometimes forgotten about, but the tall grass is good for the bunnies and fireflies. Love this place. BUT please do something about that pond. It's getting so rough, I had a frog jump out with a leather jacket and a switch blade and ask for my phone.
Woodside Park in Kitchener is one of the city’s most peaceful and beautiful green spaces, perfect for a relaxing day outdoors. Located near downtown, it’s a large park filled with tall trees, open lawns, and walking trails that make it a great escape from the busy city life. The park is especially popular with families, joggers, and people who enjoy picnics or quiet nature walks. One of the highlights of Woodside Park is its connection to the historic Woodside National Historic Site, the childhood home of William Lyon Mackenzie King, Canada’s longest-serving Prime Minister. The area is well maintained, with benches, shaded areas, and lots of greenery that changes beautifully with the seasons—from bright blossoms in spring to colorful leaves in fall. It’s a great place for photography, light exercise, or just sitting back and enjoying the fresh air. The park also attracts wildlife like birds and squirrels, adding to its calm and natural charm. Whether you’re looking for a spot to read, take a stroll, or spend quality time with friends, Woodside Park offers a perfect blend of history, nature, and tranquility right in the heart of Kitchener.
Wonderful place to visit! You can freely roam around to explore every room and take your time admiring the furniture and everything else. The house is well managed and I could even live there )). Staff was very polite and offered us freshly baked shortbread which was delicious.
2025 web shows it is open but it is closed, bathrooms are locked, window shades drawn so you cannot see inside, lily pond has dried up, 10 minutes in trails around property, lovely large picnic area 2022: Beautiful grounds with walking trails, lots of benches to rest & relax, hope it will be open longer hours soon
Very nice place, staff is so nice, the lady staff we met there is very knowledgeable and nice, it is a great historical site to visit.
The staff were very kind and the house was adorable. We enjoyed our visit!

Shopping mall
Shopping
Slide 1 of 8
one of the largest shopping centers in Kitchener area, featuring a good mix of popular retailers, restaurants, and services. Oftentimes it can get quite busy, especially on weekends. Parking is generally available but can be challenging during peak hours. The food court has a variety of options, though seating can be limited. Overall, it’s a convenient spot for shopping, but it doesn’t stand out as anything exceptional.
This location is exceptional. I commend the building's architectural design. Numerous prominent brands are represented, including Hollister, Miniso, Tim Hortons, Real Juice, and Plateora, among others. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained. The expansive food court features a wide array of renowned food brands. I highly recommend a visit.
Very quiet and well spaced out mall. The food court is a bit small and could use more variety. The mall has walmart and other bigger chains. They also have 3 bubble tea joint.
Loved the cotton candy vending machine at Fairview Park Mall, Kitchener! Super easy to use, fast, and the cotton candy is always fresh and fluffy. A fun treat for kids, families, and anyone visiting the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Definitely worth checking out next time you’re at the mall!
Great mall. Always clean. Usually even if completely packed can move around no problem. Shops are varied for cost and value. Something for almost everyone somewhere in the mall. Never seen it not clean. Puts my hometown Toronto malls to shame for cleanliness... Security seems good too. Lots of em, friendly and helpful but not in your face all the time. You notice them on the edges heh. They don't do the standard in your face of most mall cops or gather in huge groups for no reason. Kudos to whomever that or those security companies are. All around pretty darn good mall. Lots of room in a crowd even. It's amazing how they manage it. Only thing that's a bit much is food court gets crowded but that's always the kids. Was when I was one too heh...
A decent shopping mall, Fairview Park is a great way to spend a couple hours. With multiple high-end shops, a phenomenal food court, and a clean - well kept interior, Fairview Park mall is one of the more impressive malls within the area. However, the increasing gang activity, and unrestrained activity of the teens in and around the mall have begun to take a toll on the experience. I have seen fights, police intervention, and even someone urinating in a corner near the food court... While these things don't bother me due to my own career where I experience these things daily - they can definitely deter those who aren't accustomed to it... I understand that this is not Fairview Park mall's fault necessarily, however they could take means to control it better... More wandering security, more cameras, more police presence, etc. However, putting all of that aside, it is an excellent mall, with plenty of shopping opportunities. This is a great place to do birthday or holiday shopping. It's lively, active, and a great location to come spend time at. Overall, I highly recommend Fairview Park mall!
It’s alright, I think better security for customers and staff would improve this place. They should also think of opening up some attractions for the community and youths to keep the area engaged/productively busy.
A great mall to spend time, shop, and dine. It offers a wide variety of clothing stores like Hollister and Hudson's Bay, as well as Bath & Body Works. There's also a Jump+ store and a Walmart for grocery shopping. The food court includes options like Tim Hortons, A&W, and several other eateries. It's the perfect place to find everything you need in one location, with plenty of parking space available.

Beautiful piece of Kitchener history! Wish it was open to the public, though understandable as to why no one is allowed to climb it (dangerous heights, and vandalism). If you visit in the fall months, make sure you venture over behind the cemetary and check out the splendid views overlooking the Grand river. If you venture down the trail, make sure you check out the awesome metal walking bridge over the river.
A lovely place for photo ops and to enjoy a leisurely walk along the river. The tower is a beautiful backdrop, as were the nearby lilac bushes. Disappointed (but understandable) that the door to the interior stairs of the tower is locked so you can’t enjoy the view from the top lookout. There’s a paved trail to accommodate bikes, strollers, etc. and a small playground with free gravelled parking lot.
Beautiful! The tower is open to the public only on special occasions such as Doors Open Waterloo Region.
A monument to remember first amish people who arrived in this area and a small cemetery. A well deserved building in middle of a park land with a beautiful scenery to grand river valley. Nice place for walking and enjoying nature. The problem is this building is hidden from direct view from distance. It is surrounded by residential buildings. But it is nice to see something about early pioneers of Waterloo and surrounding area. More historical facts and information about first settlers including natives will attracts more people.
2023 September 4★ A historic look out tower erected in 1925. As the sign reads: WATERLOO PIONEERS In the year 1800 a small number of Mennonite families arrived from Pennsylvania to settle Block 2, former Six Nations land along the Grand River Mennonites, followed during the next three years until problems regarding ownership of the land curtailed the migration. Representatives were sent back to Pennsylvania to raise the money necessary to secure clear title to the land, with the result that a joint stock company was formed and 60,000 acres purchased. Pennsylvania Dutch settlers quickly took up this land, creating the first sizeable inland settlement in Upper Canada. Located beside Kuntz Park and parking available. Not opened to the public typically. Special events such as Doors Open allow access. Staffed by Parks Canada.
Beautiful park and open space for family photography sessions with a great playground as well to entertain young children. Would love to do a Princess or prince session in front of the “princess” tower!
Beautiful scenery. View of the tower is nice to capture few clicks. Saw people riding bikes and walking on the trail.Thw spot is overlooking the grand river. The parking was mentioned as private parking so was little worried if I could park there though there is ample parking available. The houses nearby are very beautiful and the area is very calm and nature friendly. Lovwd the short visit to this place.
Worth exploring, good spot. It has a connection towards grand river trail. It will lead to a bridge crossing grand river. Good walk for photographs, walk and peace of mind.

The pictures really don't do it justice, this is an absolutely gorgeous church, the music is pretty good and the mass was well done. Came to the 8:30 mass and there were still quite a few people there, really lovely and would recommend wether you visit once while out of town or come back again and again. I wish this was in my home town!
We are visitors from Malta in Kitchener. Every Sunday we come to hear Mass. it’s a lovely church and we feel much at home as the church welcomes us a lot.
I thoroughly enjoy the presence that is evident in St.Mary's Catholic Church in Kitchener. This is a Church for another time...beautifully adorned...and the presence of Our Mother Mary is incredibly comforting ....I could stay in St.Mary's Catholic Church for hours 🙏💖🙏💖🙏
In my faith journey, at St Mary’s Church, I have noticed that no matter who you are or where you come from, you are warmly welcomed. Rooted in the spirit of cooperation, it aims to create a space of belonging and purpose for all. St. Mary's strength in collaboration, beginning with families and extending into communities finds a home among our voluntary organizations and religious congregations an is united by a shared commitment to care, support, and faith. Join St. Mary’s walking this path together, building connections and fostering a sense of true community.
My church not only keeps our faith’s rituals alive, but is doing the TRUE WORD OF JESUS, aiding all those in need, not only homeless, but those sick, or burden by sadness. GOD BLESS US ALL 🙏🏻
Basically just a parking scam with unclear signage, hoping to bill you. Beware of their lot.
St. Mary's is a very welcoming and engaging church. Located in central downtown Kitchener, it has a spectacular architectural effect (oldest Catholic church in Kit), beautiful stained glass (worth a visit!). This past year and a half, St. Mary's has been focusing on Outreach and partnering with other community services (ie. The Working Centre, Mennonite Central Committee, etc. ) to provide care and support to our neighbors in need in the downtown area. Early this winter, St. Mary's provided emergency Warming Centre sleepovers for over 100 people for almost 2 weeks as winter came upon us early this year. We also have a very active St. Vincent de Paul Society which distributes food to those in need twice a week. If you've been thinking of returning to Mass, consider St. Mary's. I guarantee a welcoming experience! St. Mary's has weekday Mass, Tues-Fri. at noon, and is also home to the Latin Mass congregation each Sun. at 3:00 p.m. Introduce yourself, at the regular Masses, to Fr. Toby, Fr. Dan, Fr. Joseph and Rianne, the Outreach worker! They love to meet new friends!! PLUS - Hearing aids available and sound system amazing!
Going to Mass is so comforting. At St. Mary Our Lady of Seven Sorrows the atmosphere is revert, peaceful & welcoming . I have found community, uplifting music, traditional spirituality & thought provoking homilies. Plus they support initiatives to aid the homeless & others. Tiny Home Takeout is a wonderful initiative staffed entirely by volunteer parishioners. From Tuesdays to Saturdays, they offer calzones, a "bite" such as a small salad or soup plus a few drink offerings. Meant to support underprivileged/ unhoused persons, all food & bevvies is by donation. Pay what you can, but if one can't pay, then eat anyway. It's a real blessing!🙏🏼

Will definitely be visiting again soon! Can’t believe I took this long to check out my local art gallery but wow was it lovely! Spent about an hour by myself exploring the art. It was fairly quiet on a weekday. It is free admission but you can donate to the gallery with cash or tap if you’d like. The staff was helpful when I told her it was my first time and told me about the exhibits.I loved the variety of art and the artists showcased. The experiences were immersive (sound, smell, visuals, and interaction). There were free art books and poetry to take home related to the exhibits. I will be back!
Wonderful displays and free too , nice place to chill
Great exhibits from Canadian and international artists. Their summer camps are engaging with a mix of art and craft activities followed by the Art Show on Fridays.
This is a nice local little gallery running 2-3 exhibits at a time. Each one is meaningful and well presented. I just with there were more to explore.
This local art gallery was so lovely to visit. Admission is free. With large scale exhibitions spanning a range of topics, excellent curation, and a variety of mediums - including aural and interactive art. Our favourite exhibition was about "The Hag" and was so stunningly beautiful my partner and I stayed in the exhibition room in awe for longer than we thought possible. They also have a small collection of art books for sale outside the exhibition hall. There is a paid parking lot and some free street parking up the road if you are willing to walk a bit longer. Currently undergoing renovations, the building is unable to offer washroom access temporarily.
As a common art practitioner who appreciates art from either a complex or simplest form. I greatly admire the work of other artists who's perfecting their craft, including those that are rediscovering theirs. For a free admission gallery, I say the exhibit is a great place to visit.
Unfortunately when we arrived there were closed exhibits so it was not as fun as I'd hoped. I do love how big and open it is though. I will definitely be back when there is more to see.
Must visit if you are in the area, the exhibition also have local artists and students’ work! Beautiful gallery! Plus there are so many programs you may join for free to enrich your life in a creative way!

I am very glad that I visited this place. The Mother's Day Garden Party took place here, where I was a vendor. The organizers created a festive atmosphere, despite the very cold and rainy weather. The museum and gallery is a great place to explore Canadian history and art. There is a beautiful garden and park around the museum. The sculptures in the park are very unique. I will definitely come to this amazing place again.
Booking with Tanner was perfect very lovely to deal with and accurate with all the details. We had a painting party at the gallery and it was an amazing experience! Our artist, Emily, was friendly, professional, and incredibly patient with the kids, which made the event extra special. The only thing I would mention is that the timing felt a bit short, but overall, the space is beautiful and welcoming. We definitely plan on hosting here again!
As I stepped into the historic Homer Watson House and Gallery, I felt as though I had traveled back in time. The beautifully preserved house and grounds, once home to the renowned artist, offered a glimpse into the past. The gallery itself is a treasure trove of art, showcasing a diverse range of works from a variety of artists. Each piece tells a story, inviting viewers to connect with the artist's vision and emotions. I was particularly impressed by the efforts made to educate visitors about local history. The knowledgeable staff provided insightful commentary on the exhibits, shedding light on the cultural and artistic significance of the region, thanks Katie! It's clear that the Homer Watson House and Gallery is more than just a museum; it's a vital cultural institution that plays a crucial role in preserving our heritage and inspiring future generations.
Charming art gallery in a beautiful building. Great selection of local art on display. My daughter adored the art camp and made so many cool pieces while there. We also love going for the family art events, which are so well organized and fun.
I took the 4 week cozy wheel pottery with Alyssa. She is fantastic but the studio is not organized at all. Our pieces were not bisque fired for our last class (glaze) so we had to fill out forms for them to glaze them. The glaze work is terrible. Every piece has a blob of area completely missing glaze making none of them food safe. This is extremely disappointing. I've taken wheel workshops at other places in KW and I wouldn't recommend coming here.
I recently had the opportunity to visit the Homer Watson Gallery in Kitchener and was thoroughly impressed. The exhibition featuring local artists showcased the best of KW's artistic talent, and learning about Homer Watson's legacy was truly inspiring. My partner and I left feeling motivated and even stopped by the art shop to pick up some supplies for our own painting practices. I highly recommend visiting this gallery and look forward to returning again in the future.
Attended the outdoor art show today at the Homer Watson art gallery. It was a lovely time! Lots of original art with the artists engaging with customers strolling around the property. The inside of the gallery has art installations from the Watson family along with local artists. Definitely worth a view and the grounds are beautiful. Try to make a small donation inside the gallery itself, they ask for $5 but in these times I'm sure they can use a little more!
Today i speak of Homer Watson house, in his time he was described as the Canadian Constable. Some would argue the Group of Seven copied him, some would say he them.Myself I find he is a tad more realistic and somehow brighter. Two of his pieces were purchased by Queen Victoria's man in Canada. I am sure he has an official title. As I have often said small town Canada museums and galleries are the heart and soul of this country. The staff and volunteers here work hard and well to make sure there is always something to ignite interest. I heartily recommend the 1 hour or so drive. May I suggest a Saturday drive and then explore Kitchener and surrounding are.
