Bodies of Water
Lake George is a town in New York’s vast, protected Adirondack region of mountains and old-growth forest. The town sits on the lake of the same name. On the shore, the Fort William Henry Museum & Restoration is a restored British fort, built in 1755. Nearby, Million Dollar Beach has picnic areas and a boat launch. The Prospect Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway offers views of the lake and the Adirondack High Peaks.

You honestly can’t beat the view from Prospect Mountain- absolutely breathtaking. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause and just take it all in. Feels so raw, untouched, and peaceful. Whether you hike or drive up, the reward at the top is the same: pure beauty. A must-visit if you’re in the area!
It was a sudden decision to go on a trip to Lake George, but before that, we thought of visiting Prospect Mountain. With that instant decision, the journey began. It was a fairly long drive, and as we drove up the mountain, the beauty of the hills kept captivating us more and more. Surrounded by enchanting scenery, the higher we climbed the towering mountain, the stronger the feeling of joy became. On that sunny afternoon, looking down at the lake from such a height felt truly magical. The speedboats gliding across the water looked like white swans, and the interplay of sunlight and clouds created a fascinating dance of light and shadow. It felt as though we were wandering in some fairytale kingdom. If possible, I would have loved to stay there the entire day, immersed in that breathtaking beauty.
Breathing taking view of beautiful lake George and Adirondack mountain ranges. It’s one of the best places to visit fall colors too. You can hike upto the summit and it’s accessible via car too. There is no parking at the summit, it’s just a pick up and drop off point. However, the parking lot is 10 mins hike , but it’s a steep slope, won’t advise for someone with knee issues. There are benches and shed at top for a good picnic. A must visit place if you are visiting Lake George.
The view is beautiful, worth the time. The trail is 2-3 miles long but there is a road for people that simply don't want to take the trail route. There are 4 overlooks for cars and a parking on the fourth included on entrance (10$). There when you park it is clear where to go to the fifth outlook easily being the best one. There are some trees here and there blocking the view but there are easy go arounds for that making it a must see attraction when visiting Lake George.
Beautiful views and easy to do a quick 19 minute climb if you park on the third stop (parking lot)
Beautiful view. Extremely difficult hike from the parking area to the summit
Such a beautiful and historical place. Clean air, clean water, kind people
Worth the hike up, but you can also drive up on the Prospect mountain memorial highway, though that costs money & they don't honor the NYS parks pass (which is ridiculous). Anyway, good spots to view the surrounding countryside & have a picnic at the picnic tables, they even have outhouses up there. Please remember to carry out what you bring in 🙂

It was a great recreation of the original fort. It has a lot of great exhibits. Living historians there to give you demonstrations and information. Very great detail throughout the entire fort. Explaining living conditions, hospital care, and the different jobs others would complete throughout their time there.
Drop into and experience 1755. The Tour Guides are very knowledgeable and have a good wit. For accessibility there are some areas that are difficult to traverse and some buildings that have stairs only access. I did not feel as though I missed out on anything during my visit. They do have a staff operated outdoor elevator so those in wheelchairs can access the fort walls. You're ticket is good for 2 days so you have plenty of time to explore.
One of the best forts I have ever been to. Just visited this place as a spur of the moment visit while traveling through back home from Maine to Ohio. This place does not disappoint. The guides who also do reenactments and demonstrations were very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. Would love to go back someday.
Really enjoyed our time there. The tour was really interesting and we loved the musket and cannon demos. Very unique. We went in Oct and the backdrop of the fall leaves… it was breathtaking. Highly recommend.
We did the haunted tour. Very informative. The guides were great, funny, and told spooky stories. They even gave the option to be in the basement with the lights out. Definitely recommend if you're into history and/or the paranormal!
What a wonderful experience! All ages in our group of 6 and we loved it here. From the stories told on the guided tour to the cannon demonstration. I could not find one thing to say wrong about this place. We learned so much as well. Also if you are a fan of the last of the mohcans you would also be a fan of this stop on you trip to the lake or village.
I love old forts and historical places this is one. Nice quiet day good staff good service great time beautiful location great view a little pricey but I loved it old style dress and reenactment history tours lots of information on the time period and fort history and friendly staff good verity of historical artifacts and with fort ticonderoga north of lake George
If you enjoy American History and/or the story (&movie), Last of the Mohegans, put this on your To Do list. Our guide was engaging and fun. He and his Captain were very informative. This is the fort from the book/movie. Purely historical. No elevators. When we went, the buildings were so hot. (No ac in 1755).

Love this winery! So many amazing wines, I’m not into dry wines but the ones I tried were incredible. Everyone was super helpful, we had Ben mostly helping us and he was amazing! We bought more bottles than intended just from his tips. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in Lake George!
Our server Carm was amazing. She was very knowledgeable of the varieties of wine selections. Her suggestions for my preference of dry wines white/red for my wine tasting experience was on point. Loved all my wines. Definitely will come back again.
Great tasting! Delicious wines...The cost is worth it. Very knowledgeable sales staff. PLEASE get a restroom... personally did not enjoy walking two blocks to find a restroom
Stopped in & was greeted immediately. Very knowledgeable & friendly bar staff who was very helpful in selecting a gift for the holidays. Will be back for a tasting !
Best experience during off season. Young woman was very knowledge of the winery. Make reservation or walk-in. Drinks was amazing and the whisky 🥃.
Adirondack Winery truly made my dad’s birthday so special. This was our second time coming back after a year, and Amber was still here just as hilarious, welcoming, and entertaining as ever. We were helped by Maya and Ben who were wonderful. Maya was sooo helpful helping my extremely indecisive family choosing wines for our flight. We laughed, we ate, and we learned about the wonderful wines the Adirondack Winery offered. Thank you Maya & Amber for the cherry on top of a wonderful weekend in Lake George! We’re so excited to share the multiple bottles we got with friends and family after this trip.
What a great tasting room! The staff was amazing! Zach really knew his product and taught us so much, Paige was so kind and Ben was a good laugh! My husband and I had a great time trying all the wonderful wines! We even got some Bourbon. Try the Peach wine!! Can't wait to go back in Spring!

Retro kiddie park with a train through the forest, storybook displays & various rides & play areas.
Slide 1 of 8
Great place to bring younger kids, but not really teens. The rides are made small & very eclectic of the 1950s when this was Magic Forest. The dinosaurs are very cool, they move & roar, even though they blinked too much. The snack bar was reasonably priced compared to many of the other attractions in the area, but again the food is catering to children. There is also an amazing wood sculpture!
We visited Expedition Park on a field trip for my son’s preschool a few weeks ago. It was small for an amusement park but was just the perfect size for our 2.5 year old to explore everything! He loved the toddler friendly rides and we all loved walking through the forest to see the dinosaurs. The little town with the school, firehouse, church, etc. was also adorable and fun to check out. Great for families of young children!
Great Experience at Lake George Expedition Park! We had a wonderful time at Lake George Expedition Park! The Dino Land section was super fun and very kid-friendly, with plenty of rides that are perfect for young children. The realistic dinosaur displays make the park feel natural and immersive. There’s lots of seating, clean restrooms, and nice gift shops to explore. The staff was friendly, and the park was clean and well-maintained throughout. Luckily, all the rides were included in the ticket price, which made the day flow smoothly without extra charges at every corner. They also offer gem mining and magic shows for an additional cost if you’re looking for extra activities. Only downside: the cost of admission—$39.99 per person for ages 2 and up. We paid about $170 for 2 adults and 2 kids (our infant was free). A bit pricey, but overall worth it for a fun and memorable family day. Definitely recommend for a one-time visit—the kids will have a blast!
A nice old fashioned park. Lots of shade, places to sit. A great deal for $40/person- the rides are all free. We were here from 10:30-3pm. Magic show at 11, 1 and 3. Fun for kids probably ages 3-10.
This place is a hidden gem that has all the nostalgia of the days of circuses and steel made amusement rides built to last!! It says small town love of fun written all over each detail from the Hansel and Gretel style buildings to the one man magic show to rides like the scrambler and the whip!! It was our first visit to the magic forest and the roar valley included in ticket no need for bracelets or extra tickets for rides, everything included. We loved the no lines and had some rides to ourselves we even got to ride a couple times in a row. This place has something for everyone young and old!! Parking lot is huge and no fee to park, and they had many different food options as they can with every to kids like. My son is 9 and he loved it here! Westayed for 3.5 hours!! Highly recommend as it’s perfect for families and not the giant place like a six flags much more home feel here.
A good price for 3 year old daughter and almost 4 year old niece. They had a BLAST!!! They loved pretty much every ride. Would definitely recommend it! Not much of a wait, if any for the rides. They enjoyed the Magic show too and the food prices are pretty good! The bathroom had a ramp, but it was a little steep so not sure how someone in a wheelchair would do.
My son is obsessed with dinosaurs . This was a hit for us ,along with the rides ! We go every year. It's a small parks so rides aren't far away from each other but the Dino part is definitely a walk ! We shared French fries that were great ! My son's favorite "ride" was the slide ! I only give it three stars because the ride workers do not seem happy to be there , no smiles at all besides a few .
What an absolutely amazing amusement park! I just spent 5 hours exploring this amazing park with my four and six-year-old today. We did most of the rides, several times over, Dino Roar Valley (which was unbelievable), saw a magic show AND met Santa!!! He has a cute little workshop where we made Christmas ornaments, wrote him a letter and put it Santa mailbox. I was worried that the park wouldn't have a lot of rides or would be too "babyish" for my kids but my worries were put to rest once I pulled into the parking lot. AND what you see from the roads/parking lot is just the tip of the iceberg. This amusement park is under the cover of this amazing forest so you're not walking around in the beating Sun all day, it's cool, comfortable, it was not crowded and my kids were able to go on most of the rides over and over again. Once or twice I had to go on a ride because my daughter is only 40 inches, I believe 48 inches rides without an adult, but there was only two rides out of the 10+ rides that they went on that they need me to go with her . There were some that we didn't even get to! We've been coming to Lake George for 3 years and I can't believe I never knew about this park until now. WE WILL BE BACK again and again and again. The price is $40 per person / child and kids under two are free. They have a Snack Shack with very pleasant employees where you can get popcorn, cotton candy, water, slushies, soda, hot food all for a very very reasonable price. Two kids popcorn, a regular box of popcorn and two large drinks was $12 . The magic show was cute, the magician even called a few of the kids on stage so it made them feel really special. Last but not least, the dinosaurs are not to be missed! it's a bit of a walk down around and back up a path through the forest but just the sight of them with the animatronics was stunning. They even have a little show towards the end of the path that's cute for kids and nice to sit and take a break. It's in an open seating theater outside and they even bring out a "real dinosaur" (Roary). There is a huge parking lot in front with no charge to park, every single employee we came in contact with was helpful and friendly. The park is clean, kept up and you can tell that they care about maintaining the appearance and the rides so they give each guest the best experience. All of these attractions, rides and shows were well worth the $40 per person admission price. Just a wonderful place to spend the day!

Great spot… We came in the beginning of April on a cool overcast day, so it wasn’t exactly beach weather. I’ve been here before and it’s a great spot. Plenty of parking with nice clean facilities and friendly staff. The sand and the views are spectacular… Worth going out of your way for a visit.
We visited million dollar beach and we were overall very happy with the cleanliness of the beach and water. There is a 10 dollar cost to park your car but still worth it. The water is low so it’s enjoyable for people of all ages. The lifeguards can get very annoying with the blowing of the whistles, especially for what seems like Minor offenses, but they are just doing their jobs. Definitely recommend this beach
Imagine you need a calm, peaceful place where only the sound of ocean waves, seagulls, and children’s laughter surround you. Or maybe you’d like to enjoy a small picnic with your friend circle or take a cruise trip. In that case, Million Dollar Beach is a wonderful spot. I didn’t want to return home, it felt like I should stay a little longer, gazing at the friendship of the sky and mountains, mesmerized by the rhythm of the water’s waves.
We had a great time as a family at Lake George's Million Dollar Beach. It's a really nice place to swim, and we felt comfortable with the good lifeguard supervision in the designated swimming areas. We would definitely come back again when we're in the area. We visited on a Monday (8/11) in the middle of the day, and it was quite crowded. My only minor complaint is that there wasn't a lot of space to lay out towels in the sand, especially near the main walkway and closer to the lake. There was more space available on the side of the building, but those areas didn't have lifeguards, which made it a little difficult to find a spot to relax while still being near a supervised swimming area. Despite that, it's a great location that's easy to get to, and the locker rooms and bathrooms were clean. Overall, we had a fantastic day and would recommend it for a fun family beach trip.
Lifeguards are present, but basically unnecessary for actual safety. Just there to enforce the way too many rules. No balls, no floats, no games, no fun. “Swimming” area is WAY too small and shallow. Might be worth it if your kid is 5 or younger. Not for anyone who likes doing more than sunbathing or standing in knee-deep water.
Clean beach & changing rooms, attentive lifeguards and plenty of parking. Skip the snack bar: 56 minute wait in line for a drink
we went end of august. paid $10 to park. nice beach. great views of the lake and mountains. water clear and clean. swimming area roped off and on shallow end only (because it drops off to 30 feet), good for little kids. we walked over to dog beach which allows you to swim out further, but no lifeguard. there’s place to grab snacks. there’s restrooms and outdoor shower/faucet to wash feet.
We were able to enter beach with no parking fee. We lucked out. Beach is closed this past weekend, but a beautiful area to walk around and enjoy Lake George views, & people watch.

Monster-theme attraction combining wax & animatronic figures with scary special effects.
Slide 1 of 8
The House of Frankenstein Wax Museum is a one of a kind wax museum in Lake George, NY. The museum has many different wax exhibits ranging from horror movies, sci-fi movies, classic literary tales, mythical monsters, and horrifying historical periods. The museum also adds in some interesting and scary optical illusion displays. Upon entering the wax museum you will notice a few wax figures like Frankenstein displayed in the lobby. There is a sign stating there are no refunds and parents should use good judgement as to whether the museum is appropriate for kids. After you go in the main door you walk around in dark hallways, in what feels like a labyrinth. Throughout the darkened halls you will see different wax displays. As you walk around different displays will sometimes move or pop out at you, but you will not get hit by anything. A few of the displays have buttons that make the displays come to life. Some of the displays might even frighten you. Near the end you will walk through a spinning star like display that is totally fun, but could make you dizzy. While many wax museums have interesting exhibits, this one is the most unique for the thrills and chills it adds to seeing the exhibits. It is an interesting and fun way to present the exhibits. The museum is not for the easily frightened or young kids. Check the museum’s website for hours. Tickets are available at the entrance. If you’re visiting Lake George this is definitely a great place to visit.
Cheesy, silly, and extremely fun! The exhibit is mainly a series of dark hallways with vignettes visible through windows. There are some surprises and effects throughout the exhibit. If you like haunted attractions or need a little Hallowe'en out of season, this is definitely the place to visit. Note I parked for $20 for the day near the steamboat tours and this is a good location for all Lake George attractions.
It’s alive! It’s alive! What a hidden gem in upstate New York. A house of horrors to thrill any classic horror buff. Missing horror nights? This is the cure. The entry not only has a walk around Frankenstein monster, but two vignettes of Frankenstein and the haunted mansion. There are also beautiful display of collectible figures from the universal classic horror collection. Inside, there are vignettes, depicting, classic monsters, horror, icons, Medieval torture, and a few new surprises! If you love Dracula, Frankenstein, or the macabre… don’t die without seeing this phantasm!
Our kids really enjoyed the visit to the House of Frankenstein. There were a few moments that seemed a little scary, but overall it wasn’t frightening at all. Personally, I didn’t find it scary, and many of the horror movie references were ones our children didn’t even know. It was more fun than scary — a good family experience in Lake George.
What a treat! Been wanting to do it for some time now and we were not disappointed! Don't want to spoil the experience, but the last section was mind bending! Definitely check it out! (Not too scary, but gory at some parts and definitely creepy. Know your kiddo if you're brining them along!)
This place is still as cool as it always has well worth the money. Would recomend to any one who does not mind dark and spooky things. The wax figures were cool and some are even interactive.
A classic for Lake George, this has been in place for around 50 years. A great adventure for the family age 10 +. Frankenstein at times is outside greeting people and taking pictures with people. A must stop. IF YOU DARE!!!
Me and the kids were looking for something to do so we found this online and I'm so glad we went in!!!! It was so fun! Tho I hesitated because I had my baby with me and staff said it could be loud, I had to go in because the teens couldn't enter without an adult but honestly she didn't even know what was going on! I had her in my arms under her blanket and she was fine lol... I'm so happy I didn't just turn around! Definitely worth doing with kids especially 12 & 15 lol.... dont be scared and just DO it!

We got there about 1040am and parked in lot #2. There are bathrooms there. Go before you hike down. The trailhead is down part parking lots #1. Walk down about .4 mile and you'll hear the falls. Stop and take some pics but don't make that your final stop. Continue walking all the way down til you come to a fork in the trail. Turn right. You'll cross some stream beds. The bridge is not there anymore. Continue on to the lake. You'll find some rocks. You can walk to a flatter portion to walk right into Lake George. It's beautiful! Clear waters! Just gorgeous! Bring some floats and a picnic! Remember to bring your trash out.
Nice view of the Falls. Getting to Parking area is a long 20 minute drive on unpaved road. Path to Falls is well marked. Footpath is easy but some early parts require walking on rocks. Path leads to top of Falls; getting to the bottom requires some steep descents. May not be appropriate for those who are not sure-footed. Continuing on the Red path for about 10 minutes leads to a nice view of Lake George from the East Shore (though there is no clear place to sit and relax).
Beautiful waterfall in a beautiful area. Definitely worth checking out if you are anywhere nearby. Not a long walk to reach it and not particularly difficult either, though the very beginning of the trail by the road requires crossing over quite a few rocks which may be more difficult for some than others.
Wonderful short hike to falls but if you keep going to end up by the bays that all the boaters like to hang out at. Pretty cool site to see. Recommend!
Amazing and stunning view of the falls. A short hike there too. My only complaint is the lack of markings to find the falls. There was a tiny sign on the left that is easy to be missed while driving. Had to ask others who were following people who have already been there before.
Our purpose was to enjoy the beauty of the waterfall. Since we arrived a bit late, it was getting dark. However, as soon as we approached the waterfall, the surroundings became illuminated, and the sound of the cascading water felt truly peaceful.
This Hikikg experience is one I never forget. Did the entire red trail. It was intense, physical & beautiful worth the trek. Highly recommend anyone who loves hiking trails. On my "visit again list".
Great little walk and hike down a hillside. Gorgeous waterfall. There's no marked trail down to the waterfall just need to find your path

Had a 3 hr boat tour today with Captain Tim. Can’t say enough great things: it was such a fun memorable experience, breathtaking views of the lake, cliff jumping, tubing.. Everything was very smooth and easy: from booking till getting to the boat. All 10 of us had a blast! Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back! Thank you!
If you're looking for a tubing/lake adventure charter, this is the one! Booking online was easy, communication was prompt and clear, and the experience itself was so amazing! Captain Ted was knowledgeable, professional, and kind. Our kids loved the tubing and the adults loved seeing the gorgeous lake from the water. We jumped off cliffs (safely of course), explored coves, and saw a bald eagle. We also learned from Captain Ted a little about Lake George's history and geography. I cannot recommend this family-run business enough. Five stars for sure.
I can't recommend Bolton Boat Tours highly enough! We went on a 3-hour tour with Captain Ted on a gorgeous Saturday morning to celebrate my husband's birthday. The time flew by and Captain Ted made the whole experience worth every penny. He is knowledgeable, affable, entertaining, and most importantly he is safe and responsible. The booking process was simple and the directions for parking and arrival are made crystal clear well in advance. You will not regret supporting this family-owned business!
Worth every penny. And I'm typically thrifty and don't love paying for conveniences. But to avoid the hassle of renting your own boat, then renting tubes, not knowing the waters, worrying about damage, etc... you pay Tim or his dad, and they take you out on the water for a few glorious hours. When we started, he actually asked what we hoped to get out of the day. Some people may not care about rock / cliff jumping, others may not want to get out an swim for a while, but would prefer more of a tour of the local mansions and state-owned land. He sort of catered our time on the lake to what we wanted to experience. And it was probably my favorite outing of our entire week. Relaxed... safe... tailored to our group's wishes. We went to a small, semi-private cove and rock jumped a bit... swam a bit... all of us got to try tubing behind the boat once or twice... which, if you've never done it... DO IT. It's pretty awesome! Overall, this made for a fantastic outing and Tim was terrific!
This activity was exactly what we had hoped. Tim was a knowledgeable, responsible, kind, and entertaining captain! My wife and I booked this boat with our two boys ages 4 & 2. Tim was very sweet with our kids, keeping them safe, but also entertained. We wanted a short tour around the highlights of the lake, and we wanted to spend a little time swimming and tubing- we did all of this and truly enjoyed our time. Tim is an excellent captain and Bolton Boat tours is a world class company ! Definitely recommend!!! We noticed Tim taking out a bachelorette party after our trip- so it is the perfect choice, no matter the occasion !
Boat ride, tubing, swimming, cliff jumping and sight seeing. Group of 7, booked 2hrs at 5pm in August. What an incredible experience. Capt. Tim guided us, and was terrific—genuine, good vibe, engaged with our kids well and our group couldn’t have felt more comfortable the entire time. My boys agreed this was their favorite part of the week at Lake George. Highly recommend. Would repeat.
Absolutely fantastic! Captain Tim took us out for a two hour tour of the lake George and we had a wonderful day! He was very courteous, responsible, and knowledgeable of Lake George. We were going to rent a boat and then decided to go to Bolton boat tours and it was the best decision we made all week! Highly recommend him and his business for your next tour on the lake.
Probably one of the best experiences I've had while visiting lake george! Tim, who was our captain, went above and beyond to make our two hour tour worthwhile. He was easy-going and nice to everyone. Both the rock jumping in the cove and the tubing made the tour something to remember. Highly recommend using this family-run boat tour company as opposed to the ones near the village and Glens falls.

This deli is a hidden gem! They have a wide variety of wraps, sandwiches, and breakfasts, great for any meal of the day. I got a breakfast sandwich with fried eggs as the bread, and it was really delicious as well as the perfect portion for me at a decent price (~$8). The service was fine, no complaints there. There are a handful of tables and seats inside but on a nice day, I think the food is best enjoyed at one of the picnic benches outside. There is such a wide variety at this place, I definitely want to go back to try more of what they have to offer.
The worst thing that a deli may have is a cook with attitude. My daughter in law asked for a gluten free wrap and when she discussed with cook, he was very disrespectful in the answer. Also, our order missed one of the sandwiches. When we claimed, another attitude came from the cook. They checked the receipt and he failed to do the sandwich. Some of the orders came out with sides that were not requested. Despite being a small deli, if quality and service are not at the par with the sandwiches, it is not worthwhile.
Delicious, flavorful egg sandwiches on bread rolls like a cloud. Large variety of unique breakfast & lunch sandwiches. Good ingredients. Friendly staff. 🍳
I am not sure how I didn’t know about moose on the loose until today! I’ve been missing out. Stopped in spur of the moment, ordered a Reuben sandwich and was not disappointed! Made fast and fresh as I waited and was a quality sandwich at a great price point. Will definitely be back to try some other options!
Amazing service! Such nice people who served us. Food was really good too with a nice presentation.
Nice place to stop for a bite. Lots of options especially for those who are looking for GFree sandwiches or pizzas. Excellent customer.
The Perfumery (Perfuma LLC) not only had in stock my favorite scent which is difficult to find in the states (Fidji by Guy Laroche), but the man working there (Noah) was a surprising conversationalist and made the trip worthwhile. I was able to purchase some intimates from the Hanes/Champion/Bali/Maidenform outlet as well.
Tons of great outlet stores, we specifically stopped to visit the children's place and found many great deals. We visited a few different places and service was great at each one! Parking was easy, many spots available. It was a bit tricky to pull out of the parking lots as traffic was steady.

Gorgeous views ! The summit is 3.3 miles up from the parking lot so essentially hiking uphill the entire time ( and then 3.3 miles downhill). The trail is pretty rocky especially close to the summit and the leaves on the ground are very slippery so I would recommend hiking poles. My partner and I completed the hike in 3.5 hours with minimal breaks.
Relatively light hike for the first 1.5 miles or so, nothing but stream crossings through gradual incline. The last call it 0.75 miles will make you earn the view and can be quite slick so be mindful of recent rainfall. Views were great despite overcast conditions and some rain when I hit the summit. Did the whole trail in under 2.5 hours including about 20 mins or so up top. Limited parking around trailhead, I’d recommend avoiding during peak season especially on weekends. There’s plenty of places to sit at the summit if there are lots of people but the proximity to LGV makes this a tourist hotspot which is why I only do these types of weekday mornings off-season.
Great views at the summit. Trail conditions were pretty good, but a bit muddy in a few places where streams cross the trail. 1000 feet of elevation gain in the first 2 miles and another 1000 feet in the last mile. Trail was a bit difficult to follow in places during the last mile. Was able to run for about 90% of the outbound half of the hike if you’re into that sort of thing.
Challenging hike with inclines and difficult footing. The summit is beautiful if willing to experience some pain to get there.
Too much, longest hike ever to the summit. View is beautiful. Worth it? Up to you when you get there
Not a bad day hike, you can probably do this one within 3-4 hours if your moderately in shape. If you’re not, or you want to take breaks, it’s closer to 5 hours. Bring bug spray, we went up the mountain in June and we were combating the bugs just as much as the trail itself. Expect to cross a few streams, nothing too difficult. As you get closer to the top, the incline increases a lot. You’ll get close to about a mile or so from the summit and find your most challenging parts of the trail. There are a few false summits, however, I thought they had some of the best views. Moderate to challenging hike overall, i definitely enjoyed it.
Tough but absolutely a beautiful trail and worth the hike up for the view of Lake George.
This was one of the challenging hikes I have done so far. It's a 7 mile hike with the first half roughly 600ft elevation gain and the second half is 1300ft elevation gain. Carry a large snack or a good meal and have it at the top of the hike watching lake George and the vast mountains overlooking New Hampshire. It's truley beautiful❤️

When it came time to start looking for a new boat, Yankee was our first and only stop. From the beginning of the process to the end, this company could not have been more friendly and accommodating in helping us find just what we wanted. Our new Godfrey Sweetwater 2086 Xperience SBX is perfect for all our needs. Brian was wonderful in explaining everything about the boat when we came to take her away. We are thrilled! Thank you everyone at Yankee!!!
I recently had the privilege of attending a Wake For Warriors event on BEAUTIFUL Nautique watercraft hosted by the crew at Yankee Boat Center. 🏄🏼‍♀️ I can honestly say it was one of the most uplifting and meaningful experiences I’ve had since leaving the service! As a disabled veteran, opportunities like this can be rare — but the team at Yankee Boat Center made every single one of us feel seen, supported, and celebrated. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt safe, comfortable, and most importantly, like we belonged out there on the water. Andrew, Brian and Donnie were not only incredibly professional and skilled, but also patient, kind, and encouraging. Whether it was coaching us on the waves, or just sharing stories and laughs throughout the day, their passion and respect for veterans was clear in everything they did. This wasn’t just a weekend of wakesurfing on Lake George - it was a weekend filled with freedom, camaraderie, and healing,. It reminded me of the best parts of being part of a team again. I’m truly grateful to Yankee Boat Center for sharing their time and resources to create such a positive space and giving back to those who’ve served 🙏🏼 I highly recommend checking them out - I guarantee you won't be disappointed! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ll carry this experience with me for a long time.
Andrew found the boat we were looking for- Yankee went above and beyond to source a new trailer , service and deliver the unique Nautique we had been searching for. Recommend with confidence.
This company was outstanding to work with from start to finish. Brian was great at communicating everything with us for the purchase of the boat! Very knowledgeable about the boat and value. It was worth the 4 hour drive to buy the boat. I would highly recommend Brian and Yankee Boat Center for your next boat purchase!! This a first class outfit!! 5 Stars all day!! Thank you Brian!!!
Yankee Boats has been amazing to work with time and time again. My husband and I have purchased several boats through them, and their staff consistently goes above and beyond to make the process easy and enjoyable. They don’t just sell boats — they take care of their customers. I also had the honor of attending the Wake For Warriors event they sponsored for veterans, and it was an unforgettable experience. As a local, I’ll continue to bring my business to Yankee Boats, knowing I’m in the best hands.
Let me start by saying I am a disabled combat veteran, and Yankee Boating Center absolutely went above and beyond for us. They dropped everything to take a group of veterans out on Lake George through Wake For Warriors and gave us the full experience of riding a real wave. Their team made sure every single person’s needs were met, and they created an environment where everyone could participate and enjoy themselves. From this experience, I can confidently say that whenever I’m on Lake George, Yankee Boating Center will be my go-to stop—for fuel, gear, and even rentals. Truly outstanding service and hospitality!
Josh and john in the service department are probably the two nicest guys you’ll ever meet. They’re so accommodating and no one really cares the way Yankee does. It takes a lot to get respect on Lake George in the boating industry and with Yankee all you have to do is be a nice guy and Pay :-)MU
Wasn’t a customer, rather for 2 years now many other veterans and I have been at the receiving end of these guys amazing generosity. They take us out on their immaculate wake boats, treat us with delicious meals, and ask their friends and neighbors to house us in their lakeside homes. Can’t thank them enough.

What a great place to taste local spirits. The hostess Asia went above and beyond to make this such a memorable experience. Thanks so much Asia for making this a wonderful part of our trip to Lake George!
Stopped in unexpectedly when walking by yesterday. The gentleman behind the counter was super friendly and knowledgeable. The moonshine was great and low proof (40ish). Super reasonable, for $8 had three tastings and a shot glass to take home. We will return.
Awesome place. Aja is great, very knowledgeable about the products and super friendly. This is always on our itinerary when We come to the Lake George area. We love trying the new products, and never walk out empty handed.
Aja was fabulous and knowledgeable about the drinks! Such a great deal, $8 for a tasting of 3. Went home with a bottle of apple pie moonshine and are hoping to make it back up here soon!! Worth the visit (make sure to try a slushie)
Amazing place. The mango cherry moonshine slushy was so smooth it's dangerous. The staff was crazy friendly. It was like a little party! Cool merchandise. Extremely tasty drinks. The sweet tea and lemonade moonshine are delightful.
Bartender was extremely friendly, kept us laughing the whole time. Drinks were very good on a hot day. Would love to come back
Laid back, quiet spot with a decent selection of spirits. Bartender wasn't pushy, and answered all our questions.
I've stopped by this storefront once in 2016 and again in 2017. Both times no one else was in there. The staff on hand was friendly. I did a full tasting in 2016 and ended up getting their "Adirondack Wildfire Whiskey", which I really enjoyed since I love cinnamon. This year I didn't do a tasting and I picked up their "Bullhead Bourbon" on a whim. I'm really enjoying that as well. When I go back in 2018 I'd like to try their "Apple Pie Moonshine", which sounds awesome.
