Lots of trees, grass and plenty of space to walk. If you are into local history it is a good spot to visit. They offer short boat tours or paddle boats for rent. There is also lots of places to eat that are along the river. If you are visiting Pueblo and want something quick but also nice to do, I recommend doing the river walk.
Wanted a small break on our way to Carlsbad from Denver. Stopped at Angelino's for a pizza and enjoy the fall weather. Not too many shops but the walk was very relaxing. Very dog friendly we were able to take our pup into the patio area for lunch.
Beautifully redesigned by Pueblo. Easy to get to, lots of free parking, a great place to take a stroll, restaurants along the walk, boat rides, public art, and movie in the park.
Water was dingy and gross green. We were there on a.l Saturday evening and expected lots of people and there was hardly anyone even around. Picked a place to go eat and have a drink. Walked in was seated. Waited for about 10 minutes without anyone coming to serve us- so we left and went back to hotel to order in with Door Dash. Would not recommend spending time or money to visit this place to others.
Pretty cool to walk around & explore.. you can ride a tour boat for a cost. Restrooms r on the 3rd floor of main building..
It was dog friendly pet friendly for plenty of restrooms and play me a room for kids to play And have a lot to take me there put these pictures from not exactly at that it's fine go enjoy yourself
My dog loves the pueblo river walk... It's Very Nice here. Many Dog Friendly Restaurants on the Walk & Great Atmosphere all around.
Beautiful place! The boat ride was amazing!

Definitely not the big Zoo you see in Larger cities, but still earned a 5 star from me because I absolutely enjoyed myself. Eazy to walk through and plenty of room to play for kids. Would definitely add this to my list of awesome places to explore while getting some much needed exercise.
Pueblo Zoo is an awesome zoo, despite being smaller than Denver Zoo or Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. I went for the "Meet The African Penguins, Behind The Scenes" tour and it was absolutely outstanding. The staff handling the tour were very knowledgeable and friendly. I got to meet Quinn, who is the cuddliest penguin in Colorado, maybe even the whole world. Getting to pet and learn more about such an amazing animal has been the highlight of my year so far. I also got to see how the exhibit is maintained and managed which is also a cool peak inside the amazing effort the zoo takes to keep these animals healthy. I appreciate how the zoo directly supports conservation of endangered species and puts emphasis on ways to help in your every day life. Besides the penguins, the rest of the zoo had a bunch of cool enclosures and exhibits, a lot of great activities for children, and many historical sites from when the zoo was first built in the 1930's. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend spending some time here. It only takes about 2-3 hours to see everything the zoo has to offer, so its easy to plan an afternoon on a weekend around. Thanks to everyone working here for providing a wonderful experience.

I read that some other reviews said it was small, and I’d have to disagree. It took us about 2 hours to see everything which is quicker than big cities zoos like St. Louis MO, however, it was (in my opinion) the perfect size! Lots of unique animals to see up close, very well taken care of animals, super friendly staff, and plenty of fun experiences. I 100% recommend! Don’t forget to donate to help their conservation efforts as well!
The zoo is a sweet little place to go and spend an afternoon or an late morning adventure. It's not very big and all the paths are sidewalked and ready for strollers or wagons or wheelchairs. The variety of animals is not very big but they have lions and kangaroos and a red panda which are very fun to see. At 3:00 they do a education, talk and feeding of the penguins which was a lot of fun to see. It's a perfect zoo for young kids and families to go. And walk around. Have a picnic lunch and finish the zoo all within a couple of hours. You'll enjoy your time there.
Beautiful place, exploring is great exercise, Momo the red panda is unforgettable. You can get a yearly pass for pretty cheap, it's a great idea, that place is good for the soul.
Always have a fun experience here! Usually can see the whole zoo in a couple hours so it's a lot smaller than others. But my kids always love it. Since it's located in a park there are plenty of other fun activities to do if you happen to go through the whole zoo faster than expected. The earlier you get there the less crowded it is.
Boo at the zoo, fantastic event, we'll put together and more than enough trickery treaters and candy.

It was impressive collection of planes, jets, and NASA space equipment. In one of the hangars you can get it the aircraft and it was the coolest experience for my family and I. Thanks again, shout out to George our tour guide. Come see it!!
Second time my family and I have been here, and we love it each time! The staff is amazing; the wonderful lady working in the front is so friendly and made sure my boys were having a great time. Our tour guide is a very knowledgeable and super kind great guy! We met Mr. Corky Hayden, and he showed my boys all the experiments and let them play. He is very charming and very friendly; we could have talked with him for hours. The best museum around!
Smaller but very nice aircraft museum very informative volunteers, we loved talking with George and watching the Earth rise video in the hanger with the Space Program exhibits including the actual helicopter that picked up Alan Sheppard from the water after his Freedom 7 flight into space.
What a great museum with 2 massive hangars full of planes and a large outdoor display of planes as well. The best exhibit in my opinion is the B29 Superfortess which you actually climb into and see the flight deck. Lots of historical planes from WW2, the Vietnam and Korean wars plus the Cold War right up to Desert Storm. Absolutely loved to the place
This is a great aircraft museum, well worth visiting and it has a fairly easy access from I25 so its a great place to get out and stretch your legs. The staff are great and very knowledgeable. My Father was a Waist Gunner on a bomber in WWII, I feel like this museum has done an outstanding job of honoring those that served as well as those who were lost in our various wars. There is also a great display of our various space endeavors. And they have a nice gift store as well.
I am very thankful for this opportunity to see such history of our great country and feel like it is so alive to touch and imagine like I was there this is the greatest country that has ever been. I hope this place is around forever as a reminder of why these things we're built and the freedom we have because of this them. I wish they could have been built for peace✌️ just think.. .. ..... thanks and thankful!!@@!!
Especially for such a small town, this museum is absolutely excellent. Tiny price of entry and extremely rich history on display. They have all kinds of incredible displays, from uniforms donated by remarkable individuals themselves to massive aircraft with great historical and technical value. The staff themselves are excellent people as well, all with their own great personal stories too. Ask for details about anything and you will not be disappointed!
Great and knowledgeable staff! Very friendly! My kids loved how they could get inside some of the planes and helicopters. Lots of NASA stuff and two hangers to go into full of things and air crafts to explore and look at plus a bunch of airplanes outside to see and you can get on the tank and take pictures. Highly recommend

My first visit to The Rosemont Museum was at the Christmas open house Sunday. It did not disappoint. The main doors were open to visitors, which opened to the grand staircase where carolers performed. What a treat! Each room had wonderful decorations celebrating the season. And I know now that I will be back after the holidays to see the original decor, which I was told over 85% are original to the Thatcher family. Surprisingly, the 3rd floor housed many artifacts brought over from the Andrew McClelland Museum, including a mummy. I'm especially shocked to see that there as I would have thought the Egyptian government would insist on its return. Still, fascinating to see so close up. Each room showcased life for the family from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. Pretty interesting to see.
This museum is so neat to walk into! Not to pricey to look around and get a full tour. Everything in the Victorian house is preserved so well you get a really good idea of what it was like to live as a posh Thatcher during the Victorian Era. Our guide did a great job sharing stories, answering questions and explaining different parts of the house. You cannot take pictures inside the building but the art alone throughout the house is like an art gallery. So many beautiful details to admire. The fireplace mantels, chairs, drapes and more are all very ornate and neat to see. The stained glass by the staircase is as big as a cathedrals very beautiful and detailed.
Fantastic Museum / Mansion. There is no self guided tour - you get a tour guide when you walk through this large home. The woodworking detail is in every room, painted ceilings, grand fireplaces, large painted (stained glass look) windows, many exhibits including a real mummy. May have to wait a few minutes for a tour time and there is limited parking - 2 hour parking time limit around museum on street. We took exactly 2 hours with tour and gift shop. Prices were extremely reasonable. Don’t pass by this place. No picture taking allowed inside building.
Wow, what an amazing Victorian Mansion this Home is and that it is so full of Historical facts about the Owners. As a Denver Native, I had never heard about this Home until my wife & I went to Pueblo recently to take a tour. Debbie was our very knowledgeable Guide so we learned so much on our Tour. If you have a chance to go see this Wonderful Home, you will not be disappointed.. Thanks Debbie and Staff we really enjoyed our Tour. Steve & Lorri Hose ~ Littleton ~
The Rosemont Museum is a beautiful hidden gem in Pueblo! The stained glass window is absolutely stunning huge and full of color, definitely a highlight. The staircases and woodwork throughout the home are amazing, and you can really feel the history in every detail. Our guide was great and very informative. My only complaint is that the tour felt a little rushed, and I wish we had more time to explore or peek into more of the rooms. Still, it was a lovely experience overall and I’d definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area! I will definitely come back!
While the facility itself was fantastic and truly impressive, our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the way we were treated upon arrival. Our group consisted of four moms and our kids—16 people total—all of whom had purchased tickets in advance through Groupon. We carefully reviewed the website ahead of time to plan our visit, and at no point did we see any requirement to make a reservation for groups over 10. When we arrived, the person who greeted us (Deb) seemed visibly frustrated and immediately chastised us for not making a group reservation, insisting that the website states this is required. I have since double-checked and still see no such mention. If group reservations are necessary, that should be clearly stated on the website and during the ticket purchase process. More disappointing than the misunderstanding, however, was the unwelcoming attitude we received. Deb made it feel as though our presence was an inconvenience and spoke as if scrambling to accommodate us was a burden. As paying visitors supporting a local historical site, we expected to be met with hospitality, not frustration. We sincerely hope this was an isolated incident, as the facility itself is well worth the visit—but a warmer welcome would have made all the difference.
As being from the south with our plantations and big estate's this is so amazing....to have built this from such humble beginnings. This is real America. Sounds to me like this guy was the only one in the territory that could be trusted. He had land to texas 250 miles away It kind of sounds like job but without the trials......God is amazing... thanks😊 for the trip!!@@!!..... ps I hope to come back thanks
OMG!! This place and the history is incredible. I lived every minute of our experience here. It has so much beauty and history. I would definitely recommend seeing this place. I would love to go back around Christmas time when they have it all decorated. We visited in July and they had all the beautiful wedding dresses out! I asked when her birthday was as if you’re like me and curious she’s a libra! Nice to know as a Gemini. I could see the similarities in the decor she loved. Amazing place! Check it out.

Props to the park staff in maintaining the parks beauty! Clean restrooms with showers available. The staff at the gates are very friendly and helpful. This park is maintained very well with plenty of campsites with comfortable spacing in between. Great bike paths for ebikes along the outer edges of the park. Hiking opportunities and mountain biking are plentiful as well. Whether you plan on staying several days or just passing through, Pueblo State Park is well worth the visit!
South shore Marina is awesome. Staff are helpful and friendly. Everything is explained well and they have every kind of water "toy" for rent. It's a great place to fish, boat or just hang out. Well worth your time! Just go!
The lake was absolutely beautiful and swim area was nice! The camping area was well maintained and bathrooms were kept clean daily. Make sure you prepare yourself for cold shower but that’s camping for you. The only thing I will note is the camp sites do not have a lot of shade trees so you might want a canopy. Our family had a blast and hope to come back in the future.
This is a very nice state park. Campsites are spread out pretty decently and the park is well kept. The services are limited in that the campground we were in, Arapahoe Ridge had electric service only at the site. There are no sewer connections or individual water hookups. There were water hydrants between every 2 sites which was sufficient for our needs and they had a nice dump station with easy access. There is not a lot of shade but there was a tree near every site (unfortunately the tree at our site was completely dead) and a picnic table canopy that also provided shade. There are also flush toilet houses with nice shower facilities adequately dispersed throughout the campground. Overall this was a very nice place to stay.
Pleasantly surprised by the stunning landscape and bright blue water. It's a much larger lake than I expected. The trails are well kept from what we walked. There were a fair number of bicyclists on the trails too. There is a public restroom (no running water) that was clean.
A beautiful, humongous state park with many family oriented things to do - boating, biking, fishing, sailboarding, kayaking, hiking & camping. On the downside, not all the showers got hot & the camp host was a pretty non existent entity unless you specifically went over to his site.
Year round, Lake Pueblo State Park is a destination anyone can enjoy. From short day visits for locals to extensive camping trips for out-of-towners, both the lake and Arkansas River are an incredible Colorado resource! Local residents can enjoy a quick respite from city life with the park pass (even if you only have an hour). Activities include: nature walks & hikes, walks along the top of the dam, picnics, frisbee golf, bike riding, ample bird watching, archery, boating, lake fishing, pond fishing and fly fishing along the Arkansas river. For planned trips, you can expect the campgrounds to be clean and spacious, with incredible views of the lake, surrounding mountain ranges, and stunning rock formations. All locations have convenient, paved access with individual fire pits, covered picnic tables, and well-maintained, convenient restrooms. RVs have access to electrical in most locations. During the winter the campgrounds are limited to the south side marina and and a few spots on the north side, too. During the summer the park really shines when all campgrounds become accessible. The visitor center on the south side of the park is a wonderful facility for information, education and souvenirs. All the staff and park rangers are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this park for nature sabbaticals, school field trips, annual camping trips, family reunions, and corporate picnics.
Great place to take your antisocial dog to cool off during the summer. Los of nooks and inlets away from the crowded parts of the lake where your dog can freak out without actually putting anyone else at risk

Beautiful forest to adventure! We did an overlanding trip through Colorado in Sept 2021 and one of our all time favorite camping spots was near Salida. 10/10 recommend. It is remote so come prepared to pack out everything. leave no trace.
Been here a couple times camping and it is absolutely stunning. I could drive for 12 hours in any direction in the US and not see a place as beautiful. The only issue I had this time were the dirt roads that were so bad my body was still vibrating for 15 minutes after stopping. This wasn't a problem the first time camping there about a year and a half ago but this time I was afraid I was going to break a ball joint on my Jeep. There have been some heavy logging machinery up there so I suspect their tracks did it because of the road became more like a regular dirt road after I we got past those. All in all this is the most amazing experience I've ever had while camping and one of the most amazing experiences ever. Five stars EASILY. If you do want to get a good camping spot though and it doesn't matter if it's a Monday or not and you're going to want to get there fairly early. We parked in a camp spot at least a mile away from anybody else and some random old guy jogging by got mad that our dog barked at him. Dude needs a reality check because nobody keeps their dog on a leash in the middle of a forest. Otherwise a GREAT experience. Highly recommend! Just watch out for angry old men jogging miles away from their camp site LoL
Nice ride on the train to get here. The scenery is amazing. The shop is very nice with a great selection. The staff are helpful and friendly. Nice services in the right place. The water is a must for sure. The altitude is really something. It took the wife 2 days to recover. She is fine. I did have a couple of times it was a little difficult to catch my breath. Give yourself a little time before moving very quick. Even when you get back to the train station. I do definitely recommend this.
This National Forest encompasses numerous trails and features. We descended on the Barr Trail after ascending The Manitou Incline to enjoy the beautiful views back into Manitou Springs. However, you can use the Barr Trail in the opposite direction to ascend Pikes Peak.
This is an amazing place to camp. No water or bathrooms and you have to get your own firewood. Dispearsed camping makes you do a lot more than a campground. But being by yourself is really a cool experience!
The Aspen trees were at their peak colour. Snow had fallen the night before and the far-off mountain peaks were glistening with the pure icing. Crisp, clean air gave each of us a boost of energy; making us glad to experience the reverent beauty of creation.
This is not an easy climb. You gain a LOT of altitude quickly in this hike. Be prepared! Bring water (I wore a Camelback) and electrolyte gummies were a big help. Pace yourself and take your time and you can do it! I am 64 and have RRMS. The oldest hiker on the incline that day was 90 years old and he made it! #dohardthings
This is a beautiful place to go hiking. I’m sad though that the administration is planning on cutting 110,000 acres of this beautiful forest only the name of fire control. It actually makes the fires worse because the land will dry up when exposed to the sun.

Great place to visit and relax. Beautiful big trees, a pond with ducks (some were fishing), an awesome playground, families playing, picnics happening, they have rides, a waterpark, and a city zoo! Bring the babies!
This place looks like it's gonna be great. The first swimming in the summer!
This is a very nice place especially when its Pueblo hot outside, perfect to cool off and enjoy tubing down the river, taking a cool sandwich for lunch, snacks, cold watermelon and ice cold drinks. You can also take a grill and throw down on a carne asada of you want. Make sure to wear a life jacket and be aware of rocks under the rushing part of the current beneath your tube. I look forward to getting in another trip or 2 before summer ends. Great for the entire family, enjoy and be safe!
The new Waterworks Park is wonderful. Great improvements! Beautiful 😍 place
Nice park, great trail down by the Arkansas River! Love taking a nice stroll here!
You can do just about and find everything you would want to do you got the zoo, dog park on one side and on the other side you have the skate park a little pond and you have the baseball field from there you can walk down to the river there are some different trails you can take to get away and have some private time.
Is places pretty darn cool LOL everything you wouldn't expect. The roads are kind of funny and they go twist and turn drop the park. They're backways in backwaves and lots of hills. The park here at the nature trail. There's also the water attraction. They're building at the river. There is frisbee golf, rec center, public shooting range, bochi ball, tennis, fishing, rides, Picnicking areas, Skate park, pools, dog parks and Cruz. Public bathrooms available. See turkey vultures, eagles, halks, snakes, fish, etc...
The zoo doesn't have the facility or resources to have animals, exploiting animals in the poorest conditions. On the good side, the park & dog park are very well maintained.

Being a retired Marine, I can say that this was well done. Although they're not finished (Missing many Vietnam and over 1/2 Iraq Medal recipients) this is very sobering to say the least. Wife and I took about 40 minutes reviewing the photograph walls of all era's. I'd love to come back when they have their Veterans Day ceremony. Free to enter, receptionist gave a brief overview of the establishment, donations welcome.
The Center for American Values is a powerful, moving experience: one that left me feeling like a true patriot. Walking through the Medal of Honor exhibit and learning about the extraordinary servicemen who earned our nation’s highest military honor was incredibly humbling, especially the four heroes from right here in Pueblo. Their stories of courage, sacrifice, and integrity are unforgettable. This center is more than a museum….it’s a living tribute to the values that define America at its best. The way they preserve and present these stories is inspiring and deeply important. I walked away with a renewed sense of gratitude for our veterans and a clearer understanding of what real heroism looks like. It’s truly incredible that a place like this exists in Colorado. Every student, citizen, and visitor should experience it. We are lucky to have it.
This place is a must see spot. Be prepared for tears. It is a wonderful place to bring the family and get to know the stories of our veterans better. This is a must see stop.
Beautiful tribute to those who have served our great nation. Highly recommend stopping in the next time you’re in the area. The young lady who greeted us and provided a small verbal presentation did an awesome job!
Very moving exhibit. They have an exhibit where they have taken a photo of the surviving Medal of Honor recipients and have posted a quote from them under their photo. Some have contemplated on their Medal of Honors and have very profound comments. Worth he time.
This place is amazing and should be on all schools field trip list. Each portrait is different and the stories behind them are as varied as the person that earned the right to be there. The guides are passionate and knowledgeable about the people that have and are serving. Keep up the great work!
Beautifully designed space to honor some of America’s greatest living heroes. Absolutely worth your time to learn about these true heroes!

A nice art center with beautiful art from local artists, and a cool maker space. I enjoyed seeing the variety of local art, from photography to painting to sculptures. They also offer classes to make stuff, like a clay sculpting class that I didn't have time for that day but sounded interesting
I have lived in Pueblo my whole life and my grandma used to take me to the children's museum frequently when I was growing up. It was so much fun then so I was excited to take my son to the museum the other day in hopes of him experiencing what I had at his age. But unfortunately, this wasn't the case. We spent about 20 mins in the museum and he had seen everything there was to see. It was a huge let down. One of the coolest things at the museum was a metal labyrinth that is about 20 feet high and has marbles that make their way down through the maze and then are carried back up to the top to go down again. I was happy to see it still there but it wasn't working. 😢
Absolutely beautiful! The building outside and inside is just amazing. Definitely recommend going here!
Come here once a year for an event put on for my childrens school. They always take good care of the school and everyone in attendance for the schools annual Empty Bowls Event to raise money for pueblos soup kitchenen and other local non profits. They dont raise millions but it instills in the kids the importance to help others less fortunate. This year all the classrooms made a gift basket for the silent auction plus all the ones that were donated by local businesses plus as part of the kids art projects they each create a bowl that either the parents can buy before the event or anyone can at the event. Plus it always the kids to perform in front of family and loved ones at the event and people from the community either as groups, solo or even the marching band with color guard.
Incredible experience at candlelight concert with Range Ensemble. Truly a profound experience with full, rich, passionate music to stimulate the soul. The entire event was unlike anything I had ever experienced.
Lovely unique glasses artworks on 3rd floor, nice and interesting Museum with super helpful and friendly front desk ladies. Highly recommend!

Lovely little stop to recharge and enjoy the bend in the river. Nice deck that looks out onto the Arkansas river that has been landscaped with native plants. It's situated right along the Pueblo River Trail so makes a great stopping point for a break.
The nature center is a great spot to leave your 2nd vehicle after launching by the dam. From the dam to the nature center is about a 2 hour trek. A bit faster paddling. Hope y'all enjoy it. Stay safe.
Great place for a walk, bike ride, family gatherings, bbq's, bird watching, and just enjoying the outdoors. I always walk to the Nature Center from the river trail going west. If you drive to the Nature Center, expect parking fees.
It's the best closest place to my home. Seen a deer, blueJay, rabbit and squirrels, makes me very happy. Painted there today. Again, I even went in a different season and get beautifully different things.....
This was my first time here, and they did an excellent presentation for a birthday party I was attending. They were very thorough about the birds that they rehabilitate, what to do in case you come upon an injured bird of prey And we even got a personal tour behind the scenes where they keep the birds. The birds are very well cared for they all have their own cages and we got to witness the birds get cooled off since it's the middle of summer. We had a picnic lunch before the presentation, and the grounds themselves seem to be very well taken care of. This is a family-friendly place.

Being new to pueblo, this is a great little museum that you can learn the history of this town the woman who runs.It is a fountain of knowledge i was shocked that there were no class trips going on. During my visit, because I think every school child in this town should go to that museum at least three or four times throughout their academic career
Well worth a visit to understand some of the history of steel making in Pueblo. Others have mentioned a tour guide but no-one available so we looked round on our own. There's plenty of display information but a guide would be helpful
Interesting historical education of what the worker's life was then. Small place but has few cool things to see. Worth the entry price.
Fascinating journey back in time to the beginning of steel manufacturing in Pueblo, Co.
Always a good time. They had books for the kids and crafts for them to do. . My grandson thought the Dr office was so neat.
First time visiting the museum. Comprehensive history and artifacts of the C.F.&I. (Evraz) steel mill.
The staff here is some of the most unprofessional people I have ever had the experience of dealing with in my life. The two women in the office are extremely rude and have terrible customer service skills. I couldn't believe the way they spoke to my husband and I, who had needed to obtain the blueprints for our property for an emergency water line break that had caused over 80 families to lose their homes. We were told we would have to wait a week since they were planning a fundraiser and to come back the following Wednesday. When we returned the following Wednesday there was a sign on the door stating that they would be open, however nobody showed up all day. On the following Thursday we were told that they could not help us and proceeded to call my personal phone multiple times on different phone numbers where I had to block Christina's number so that she would stop calling me. Absolutely unacceptable.
Hubby and I found this place extremely interesting just really neat history...

Thank you guys for hosting USA Boxing
Spent time in Afgh and Iraq ... honored to be in presence of these heroes ... sort of looking for someone to speak same language.
Loved memorial. Sad they moved it from highway where more people would see it. Looks like it is being hidden away!
It is a place to see heroes from Arm forces. That is an inspiration to me.
A must see Memorial. Pueblo has had the most Medal of Honor recipients of any city in the US. Dwight Eisenhower once remarked: "What is it with you guys from Pueblo? Is there something in the water?"
The security guy took my phone and laughed while flipping the bird because I was angry at someone else earlier. I'm in a wheelchair and I dropped my laptop holder with my phone in it. I came back like 7 minutes later when I found out I had dropped it, and the security dude flipped me the bird, wouldn't even look towards the case even tho it was 10 feet from him. He quickly got in his truck and left. Of course the phone was gone. TLDR, they are a bunch of thieves here.
I am humbled visiting the Medal of Honor museum in Pueblo Colorado. The courage of these men is remarkable. A must visit on Memorial Day. Our most courageous mem must not be forgotten.
Finally a honest tribute to American Heroes, not actors or sports players. Needs more exposure, awe inspiring, humbling. Honored to have it in my town. A must see

This museum is a Gem! The gentleman at the front was very nice telling us all important information, I love that everything was very organized and you can tell the curators research very well ..
Good variety of displays. Lots of various subjects. Somewhat cramped, but worth the small admissions price. There are other vintage buildings in the same block and a railroad display outside.
Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. The displays were varied and took you through the many eras of Pueblo, including a great display about the Pueblo flood. It has Indian and immigrant sections along with local businesses and industries, including the railroad.
We really enjoyed the exhibits and information placards. It was an informative and entertaining look back to Pueblo's past. The staff was AMAZING! My spouse and I thoroughly enjoyed our discussion with them. Would recommend!
This place is jam packed with history! At first I was thinking the museum could use a bit of editing because it was all over the place but then I found an exhibit that spoke specifically to my interests and I got fired up. This museum is for people who enjoy industry or tools or saddles or trains or... It just keeps going. I learned a lot about Pueblo and Colorado in two hours today and I think it was worth it.
I found the Pueblo Heritage Museum to be well worth the price of admission. I particularly enjoyed the museum's collection of pottery and pottery sherds. This place is well worth a visit.
Fantastic staff always willing to.answer questions or point out something. Large museum, nicely arranged
Such rich history it's truly moving and inspiring!

Stunning views of the Aspen trees! We saw a lot of great fall foliage in the last weekend of September. Very scenic.
Love driving the byways! My only issue is I wish there were more signage for the existing pull off points and more pull off points in general to take pictures!

Beautiful camp ground, sites are spread out. There is a little creek running thru the campground. The lake is a very close walk from the campsites. Restrooms, dumpsters, and bear boxes for food are provided. So many trout! Great fishing spot.
Great place to get away & enjoy the fresh air. Took a couple of hikes in the area. Both campgrounds were clean. I didn’t use any of the latrines (used my RVs facilities). Stayed in site #1 which was a pull-thru site. Road up to CH was in good shape. I would also say ~30’ RV would be max size. Sites are not that big to accommodate bigger RVs. Host (Scott(?)) was very friendly & helpful answering questions. Arthur (USFS) was also helpful answering questions & actually spoke to along one of my hikes. Thanks to both these guys for making stay that much better!! Something I would remind those going camping here & reason for 4-star rating, the wind here can be harsh. If you look around, you will see the effects it has had on the landscape. One night I was there, the wind blew most of the night. It even shook my trailer enough to wake me up. So, be aware & probably want something better than your average Walmart tent.
Finally reopened after a SEVERE blow down 3 years ago. Be prepared for a lot different place now than what was previously here, yet still lovely and beautiful. There is a lot of timber still being moved out from the reclaim and mitigation process. Some people will not be happy with how it looks now but it's the best way to handle what was left after the storm, and the fastest way to return it to public use.
Great spot with amenities for bathroom and bear cabinet thingy put all ur food! Beautiful breath taking views a creek of natural spri gs water flows thru the site. The camp hosts were so friendly and knowledgeable of areas to hike around area.
Beautiful little place with perfect views. The lake is great fishing and at night it’s great for stargazing
Cold windy day at Bear Lake outside Cuchara, CO. Elevation is around 10,400 and the road to Blue and Bear lake is well maintained. We caught a couple of fish and released them. Camp sites are primitive with vault toilets. It was a great day to visit the area after leaving Santa Fe Trails Ranch, Trinidad, CO this morning.
Love this place. Unfortunately the lower was campground was closed for construction. Picture is where we hoped to camp. Beautiful
Just got back from camping here and wanted to share things I wish we had known. The campground is a few miles from the sweet little town Cuchara. Great hiking and fishing at the crystal clear bear and blue lake. However, a major windstorm (looks like a tornado) went thru the area about four years ago and destroyed so much of the trees. The Bear Lake campground fared better than the Blue Lake Campground which looks awful. At Bear Lake CG, we were at site #4 which has a strong stream running thru it. It wonderfully creates a strong sound barrier tho no shade at all. . There is no shade at many of internal ring of sites due to the wind damage so you need to bring your own shade. With a water filter you could use the stream for water or bring your own. Pump is rusty and not very usable. There is a lot of wood strewn around for firewood so bring an axe. Out houses are clean and well managed. Site #8 is awesome with shade and butting up to a beautiful meadow. It's a quiet and small in a beautiful area.
