One word for first time visitors… Overwhelming! But the directory stations are very helpful to search for what you want. If you bring kids, the Lego Store and aquarium are must visits. The food court is vast and you have many choices with different types of food. Parking garage has 7 levels with clearly marked signage to find your way around. We spent 6 hours at the mall on a weekend and only covered 60% of what we wanted to do. I recommend searching stores and activities BEFORE visiting to save you time. Give yourself time to take it all in at certain spots. This is definitely a once in a lifetime experience.
I finally was able to check Mall of America off my bucket list. It definitely has a bunch of stores but I Loved the amusement park inside it also had a train and aquarium but we ran out of time to do. I dont like that even on weekends the mall closes at 9pm each day. Why not 10 or 11 with it being such a huge mall. Nevertheless I had a wonderful time I stayed at Radisson Blu which is connected to the mall and highly recommend cause it made the trip that much more easy and fun knowing we can just go to our room and back to the mall as we pleased. I think the best part was the mall off shuttles you to the Mystic Casino for free and we had a blast at the Casino.
I don't particularly like shopping centers, so this one was a surprise for me. I have only seen a smaller part of it but what I saw I absolutely loved. The inside Nickelodeon theme park is awesome, so is the Lego store. The Radisson Blu entrance looked really elegant, and there are so many things to see beside the shops. One of my favourite experiences in Minneapolis.
Visited The Mall of America today. A huge place, but easy to navigate once inside. Certainly lots of stores, some good restaurants, one of which I will review separately. Also lots of attractions. One of which Sea Life that I will review separately. In the middle there is a huge amusement park. Rode a roller coaster. My one complaint is that apparently the are 4 entrances and we could find one of them. The place is surrounded by parking garages. We walked from our hotel and we entered through a store. Even to get out we had to ask directions and the employee of the mall had to find out for us. This will not distract from the day. It was still a great experience
The mall of America was truly a great experience. It’s a place the whole family can go and have a good time at doing something. I enjoyed walking through the mall into the stores and then going to look at the amusement park side very interesting. It’s been years since I’ve been here. A lot has changed. The location is great.
Mall of America has everything except Cheesecake Factory. The mall is large and a bit confusing, I felt like I was going in circles. Due to the size, there are accessibility issues. Moving carpets like in airports would be helpful for those experiencing limited mobility. Extended hours would be cool. 9pm felt early for such a large mall, especially the food. I’m glad the public transit is easy!
My first time visiting here, definitely a nice place to shop. My fiance and I spent about 6 hours here and I feel like we didn't see every store. They have good restaurants upstairs to go eat after doing all the shopping! I got to ride some of the rides there as well and it was very fun 😊 Would definitely come back if I ever get the chance!!
When visiting this place, plan to spend the whole day here. It offers plenty of activities for families with kids, making it perfect for a fun day out. Whether you're on a date night, alone, or with friends, there's something for everyone. It's great to see malls thriving in the U.S. My advice is to wear comfortable shoes so you can fully enjoy your time.

Such a cool adventure for the kids!!! We got them a wrist band for the day but they also have other options to choose from for kid's to ride rides, not everything is included and some of the rides state that socks are mandatory. We think prices are worth it. The kids had so much fun! No lines so no waiting to get on rides.
How awesome to have an indoor theme park INSIDE a mall. We had a blast at the Mall of America - Nickelodeon Universe! There are enough rides and attractions for your family to be entertained the entire day. You do not need to pay to enter. You can either purchase an unlimited ride wristband (RECOMMENDED) or purchase points for your favorite rides. I’m glad that I purchased when I arrived, as my husband had no interest in riding anything. Nickelodeon Universe will not disappoint!
Clean, Fun, adventurous indoor theme park for all ages located inside of Mall of America. variety roller coasters, bumper cars, choo-choo trains, zip-line, paw patrol station, pineapple inflatable house, dora adventure bus, Ferris wheels , arcade, gift shops, treat vendors . There are so much fun for the families, groups, dates. They offered to host large group parties after hours. We enjoyed our annual passes.
To start off, the place looks clean and well themed, but understaffed. Perhaps because it's the off-season during a weekday. I mostly came to get a few roller coasters in, but Rock Bottom Plunge was closed, along with a few unique flat rides. It felt like the place was running on a skeleton crew. Perhaps it's better to try it on a weekend. I did like their automated wristband system.
The kids and I had a great time. Although, the rides are far to expensive! Kids had a lot of fun though, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Make it more reasonable, and more fun for the Littles and I'm pretty sure it would be amazing.
Fun and unique experience. The prices are reasonable. 50 for unlimited per person or you can buy points. The Big rides are 6 points and small rides 3. We bought 50 points for 60(after tax) and the kids went on several rides having a ton of fun. Super convenient, since there is a mall with dozens of food and snack options in walking distance.
An absolute great time at Nickelodeon universe. You can buy tickets at the kiosk or inside the gift shop. The gift shop has lots of great souvenirs and licensed products. Lots of different rides to choose from- everything from kid friendly to more extreme rides. Definitely something that is sure to please all ages and thrill seekers alike. They have pretty cool claw machines to try out as well.
So much to do here! There’s a great variety of rides to go on, in a relatively small space- don’t let that fool you into thinking this place is small!! These are full sized rides! Most of the wait lines are not excessive- 20 minutes for the most part when we were there- and you can quickly get to your destination! There’s a thrill for everyone here, from tots, to adrenaline junkies!

Amazing experience! It's really great value and honestly one of the cleanest aquariums i have ever visited. The water is pristine, and all of the aquatic life is clearly visible. Really enjoyed the experience and would most assuredly come back again if I'm ever in Minnesota in the future.
We went there last weekend and it was pretty fun. The best part was walking through the tunnel and seeing all the water life above you around you. The kids loved it! I think the only downside was the ending where you could touch the things in the water.... all of the starfish were on one side so none of the kids could touch them. The worker gave everyone in option to touch a dried out starfish. Just not the same. So if it's ever possible can you add more things for the kids to touch? Otherwise it was fun 😀
I absolutely love aquariums. Sea Life at Mall of America did not disappoint! Its not real big but thats ok. Its in a mall that has a billion other things to do so the size was just right. It was beautiful and well done. We were most fascinated by the tree frogs for some reason. The aquarium tunnel was so cool with sharks and other sea creatures swimming above you and around you. Another group of young adult visitors were ruining it for me because that part of the tour was peaceful and serene. That group was loud and intrusive. I wish the aquarium would have a no talking or low voices only in that section. Other aquariums do and they enforce it. Nevertheless, the overall experience was fantastic!!!
Always enjoy coming here, the adventure boom you can pick up at the beginning for a free gift at the end is fun and a great way to engage kids even more. The souvenir guide is actually very informative even for adults. Can't recommend enough
At The Mall of America we visited Sea Life. The $25.00 ticket is good all day. We went back for a second visit and saw animals that were not visible the first time. The staff are very knowledgeable and answer all questions. They go great work trying to save fish species and protecting the environment and give you a great understanding of how fragile life is for the various fish and animals they display
First off, the first responder appreciation is an incredible idea and I thank you for that. I first interacted with a very pleasant lady who helped us get our tickets. She was delightful and pationate about Sea life, asking us to say "hi" to the sea horses for her, so we did 🤗. We had a very enjoyable venture through the aquarium and the kids had a blast. We got lots of pictures and have some great memories to look back on. Thank you all!
Went here because I THOUGHT they would allow you to touch a stingray (touched them & fed them at the Denver CO Aquarium). FYI nope, not here! Do NOT pay to do the “behind the scenes” NOT worth it! Cute yet boring. You can see the sea life in their tunnel just as good as behind the scenes. The best thing there was the VR, worth that price! Also the photo NOT worth the $! As they want another $35 or so for a PICTURE!
Loved seeing all the different types of sea creatures. Its just simply done and done nicely. Theres a little hole for the kids to crawl into and i love the underwater walkways. The little stamp book was an awesome touch for our 6 year old and her cousin, was a cute little token they received for filling out the book. We've gone twice, the first time was 2 years after covid and this last time was about 2 years ago and they had people out and about with little creatures we got to see in person so that was pretty awesome. The touch pool is cool too. Yes you can get through it all in like 20-30 minutes but we just went back and forth between the different areas and spent a good hour there. I'd recommend it more for the younger crowd but I was entertained as well.

The MOA Lego Store was well stocked with wonderful gift options at various price points. I had a hard time choosing between four great age-appropriate Lego sets for my grandchild. Check-out was smooth, friendly, and fast. I definitely will be back to use my free “Insider” membership for credit on future purchases. ❤️
We brought our kids here as it was the first Lego store I ever went to! It was awesome to relive some childhood memories with my kids! It's still busy, and the selection is still solid! I do wish they would expand the store with a second floor, but such is life. The staff were super friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back!
This store brings me back to my childhood and more! Such a cool place to visit in order to pique your imagination on what’s possible with Legos! If you’re looking for a specialty part and certain head- they’ve got little rummage bins full! If you’re looking for a set to buy- they have those too! If you’re looking to purchase individual bricks, come on in! I’ve always loved their huge LEGO assemblies in display.
In August 2025, we visited the Lego Store in the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. This Lego store is amazing, as it is right next to the indoor amusement park, and it has amazing Lego displays. There is a large robot, a helicopter, knights, explorers, a Caveman fighting a Saber Tooth Tiger, and so forth. There is a play area for kids to build with the blocks. The Lego store has an open-air roof, so Mall patrons can see into the store from the upper Mall floors. The Lego store is a fun place to visit, and we enjoy shopping for and playing with Lego toys.
I went through my memory after going to the Lego store at the mall, and I just couldn't find a reason to give the lego store anything less than 5 stars. Lego has been my childhood and even though it's sad to see the prices rise over the years, the quality of the sets haven't declined. The selection of legos that I saw was incredible. My favorite, the new and redesigned death star. I can't afford to buy a $1000 lego, but wow that thing is awesome. I got the home alone lego, and Im not disappointed. Even if the set isn't something I very much enjoy, just building any lego is really fun and good for keeping busy. It was a really kid friendly store with an area outside for building legos while parents can sit down and relax for a minute. Lines can be long to get in the store sometimes, but I would say it's rare, and the lines move fast anyway. Even if you're not going to buy anything, I would still recommend coming and taking a look around.
This is my favorite store at the Mall of America. If you plan to visit the LEGO Store on the weekend, be aware that there may be a line, but it usually moves quickly. There are plenty of staff members on the sales floor, so if you have any questions, they’ll definitely be able to help. Don’t forget to bring (or ask for) a LEGO passport to collect some unique stamps from this location, and definitely bring your wallet!
All kinds of lego sets, single legos, sets for adults, kids and everyone in-between if you love Legos! I loved the extra large Lego statues on top of the store that you could view from every floor of the mall!
Got an awesome lego!Lego! And had fun helping with the mural!

Went with two of my boys. It was a fun experience. The gentleman who checked us in was personable, professional, and had a warm smile.
We had a blast here yesterday! Silly, laughing, smiling, dancing fun with my 8-year-old daughter. And the gentleman that was working there was so sweet and kind. Thank you!
Okay for one person. Absolute waste of money for a group. It is only the same mirrors with no other obstacles or interesting things inside. The mirror maze at Union Station in St. Louis is cheaper and offers a lot more to do inside of it and is about the same size (little bigger).
Pretty neat activity with unlimited reentries while you're there. The mirrors are kept spotless and clean. Takes about 5 - 10 minutes for the full walk through. I myself knocked into a mirror or two while I was there. Great activity for kids and there's only one was in and out of the maze.
My 4-year-old and 11 year old ASD child both loved it eldest gave it a 9/10 since he got lost twice lol
This was a fun thing to do with visiting relatives and my kids. While it's relatively easy to figure out, it's still quite disorienting when you initially go into the maze. We had a Groupon that knocked the price down substantially. And my sister and I, being goofy kids at heart, had the most fun with the distortion mirrors at the end of the maze - other customers weren't as amused...
It was actually enjoyable. I imagine it would be a blast for little ones but we were 4 adults just out for fun. I will for sure do it again. I'll be bringing my friends kids so i can watch them get lost.
We knew we were going to visit the Mall of America when in Minneapolis. I found a Groupon for this and figured it was worth trying for $4 a person. They make you wear gloves which is a little annoying, but they say it's to avoid fingerprints on the mirrors. It's pretty cool inside the maze with so many reflections everywhere. It might be a little challenging, but if you look at the floor you can easily see which way to go. It's a very very short maze. We got through it in maybe 5 minutes. I'm sure it's a better activity for kids. If you get the Groupon, it's a neat thing to check out. I probably wouldn't pay full price for it though.

Always a fun visit with helpful staff! I love hiling in the various trails and units, with the bass ponds trail as a favorite. The visitor center bird feeders are interesting to watch how many different birds interact. There's almost always at least one species of woodpecker on them at all times. Wild turkeys are also common.
We had a great experience here today. We got inside and got to see a lot of information about the animals and the habitats around. There was a nice area with bird feeders that had a lot of activity. They had backpacks that you could check out for the kids that had journals, binoculars, and lots of other information on the plant life and wildlife around. We took the trails but didn’t come across a lot of birds, but we sure did hear a lot! Overall, it was a great experience with the kids and they loved trying to look for all sorts of different things on the path.
Wonderful place to take a walk and get away from the noise of the city without actually leaving the city! Short trails near the visitors center at the Headquarters building, longer trails down in the Minnesota River Valley. Warning on those hikes - there are usually lots of bugs when it is wet, and I have had to bypass snapping turtles on the longer trail that ends at the Cedar Avenue bridge. No fees required to visit. Not only is this a great place to actually enjoy the outdoors, but it also has exhibits and a store in the Headquarters building. This is also the only place I am aware of that you can buy an America the Beautiful pass in the Twin Cities area ($80 - cash, check, or credit card based on my most recent experience), which is an all access pass to those National Parks and Monuments that do require entry fees (note that all national sites in Minnesota are free entry). There aren't many places that you can buy these in person, and it is very nice to have here when planning adventures out of the state 🙂
A wonderful visitor center with large observation windows & bird feeders that draw a wide variety of nesting and migratory birds for endless entertainment. The staff are a very welcoming and are a wealth of knowledge. The building contains several different spaces that serve different purposes. It is clean and well kept. Highly recommend a visit! The trail system is wonderful, well maintained, and full of wildlife.
The environment is perfect to relax. There's different kinds of birds and lots of trees. Perfect place for kids too.
It’s such a nice place to go for a field trip. Many fun activities for indoor and outdoor.
Just another day enjoying a mountain Bike trip through the south loop and beyond
Great place for a little hike or some time in nature without having to drive far out of the cities. I was able to see a hawk and a possum pretty close up from their observation deck!

Came out for a long walk and found great trails, clean paths and friendly visitors! Wish the entrance to the lake trail was more clearly marked when entering from the west. Be sure to look out for a paved picnic platform and look out into the clearing towards the lake to find it!
Excellent playground for a variety of ages. Has sprinkler tunnel for cooling off. Shaded picnic tables for reservations or first come first serve. Sand area was replaced with new playground equipment. Able to use Porta johns or go inside for restrooms. Has water fountains.
Great place to see some wildlife. We come here often. Lots of trails, several ponds, a playground area, a nature education center, and more. There is something for everyone to do here. Highly recommend that people check it out.
First time here with a friend. We rented a canoe for three of us to use (two adults, one child). Price was reasonable at $12/hr. Employees were great and helped us launch the canoe. Lake was beautiful and very clear. It was neat to see turtles, egrets, fish, and ducks. We did a short walk down one of the trails and it was nice! Didn't explore everything but the parts we did were great!
This park is fantastic! There's plenty of parking, lots of open space, and a beautiful lake. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained. One of the great features is the rounded umbrellas, which provide protection from rain in case of sudden weather changes.
Wonderful park! Had a fantastic time with my three small kids at the "shoots and ladders" playground, then we stopped at the snack bar for a soft pretzel and finished out the morning by renting a paddle boat and going around the lake. Kids loved it!
Great part to visit but it can get very busy. It’s a large park with many options of a picnic or hiking or many other activities.
The playground was amazing with a huge variety of things to do on it. A kids giant game of hide and seek / tag would be epic. Unfortunately when I was here it felt like 43C with the humidity. My kids would love to come back.

The Japanese Garden is truly a hidden gem! This enchanting little oasis took our breath away, and we had such an incredible time exploring its beauty. Every corner was a delight, making our visit unforgettable!
Very calm and peaceful place to walk around. The greenery is unique, and it feels like you are in Japan. We got there around 11AM, and there weren't that many people there. We spent about 45 minutes walking around and enjoying the peace and quiet, but as time went by, more and more people showed up and it got a little crowded. I do recommend visiting the place to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy some quiet and peaceful time by yourself. Maybe you can bring a book and read it laying under a tree. I will revisit.
I can’t believe I didn’t know there was a Japanese garden in the Twin Cities metro area until recently. After learning about this garden on TikTok, I knew I had to make the trip to Bloomington to check it out. I love that it’s a free activity with ample free parking and nestled in a quiet part of Bloomington. The short walk to the garden through the Normandale campus is lovely, and I enjoyed the sculptures I saw along the way. The garden is so serene, well-maintained, and unlike anything else in the area. I adored the waterfall, different tree varieties, koi fish, and bridges. Twin Cities air quality was awful today, so I didn’t spend a long time here, but under different circumstances, I could’ve stayed for a long time. It’s small but spacious garden, and there are plenty of spots to relax. Would 100% recommend a visit!
Beautiful place for a quick walk! Great accessibility for people with mobility issues. Lots of benches and places to rest. Shady areas. Very peaceful and quiet. In the shelter just inside the main entrance, there are brochures that highlight some of the main features of the garden. Loved it!
Finally made it to Normandale Japanese today! We've always seen this place on the news or social media feeds but agree that it was worth the drive. Smaller than I thought but still very peaceful and serene place to walk around. .50 to feed the Koi fish was a cool experience. Very quiet and no admission charge, only a free will donation at the gate. Many benches and places to rest during your walk around the pond. Cool buildings and well manicured trees and bushes. Great views from the bridges.
Small garden path and bridges over a water feature pond. Bring two $.25 quarters so you can buy fish food to feed the giant coy. Also a waterfall. Japanese art features, benches, some shaded seating areas up sets of stairs, entrance has steeper hill to get down to garden area. If guests have mobility problems, they should bring assistive devices, canes, walkers, etc. Lots of parking in school parking lot, informative signage to tell you where to park, there's a porta potty at edge of parking lot. Short walk to garden behind school has prairie type wildflowers, statues/art pieces, and benches and sitting areas.
Very calming and tranquil. Nice walk around the grounds and a wonderful place to think
This is a beautiful garden. When I used to go to Normandale, I would often come here between classes. They used to have many large koi, but today I didn’t see any. I wonder what happened to them; I just hope they’re okay. The garden is small, but it’s enough to give you a few peaceful moments.

Just went there today and had a lot of fun. Good for many ages and the new house segment was very enjoyable. They have a Lego wall where you can make Lego pictures and leave them there. There is a large Lego picture wall where you can see the picture and then try to make it using a battleship style grid. They have a marble coaster that took 6 MONTHS to make. There is a secret event every 15-30 minutes at the marble coaster(you will know it when you see it). There is a knex racer builder at which you can build a car/8 wheel blob to race down the track. Member ship was 25 for 3 people and you get student discounts if in a certain school and grade. Have fun!
Good fun little place that kept my kids entertained for 3 hours. They didn’t want to leave. My only complaint is the use of button batteries to make the little robot bugs at our last visit as they are very dangerous if put in mouth which my kids would likely do. I of course couldn’t say no to my oldest but as soon as he forgot about it I had to take it. I don’t want the stress of worrying about where it was at home and a kid putting it in their mouth.
Hands on one story museum for kids. Some attractions, like the kinex ramp and the make your own Pinball machine were broken. Seems pricy for 13 per person for what you get out of it. Somewhat ada friensly
I took my two nephews here, and let me tell you — they had an amazing time! 🙌 Everything is super interactive, which kept them busy, curious, and learning the whole visit. It’s such a fun way for kids to burn off that endless energy while actually picking up new things. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful from start to finish, which made the experience even better. I’d definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for a fun, educational outing with the little ones. 🌟
My grandson (6) had a blast here. We loved the self-directed hands-on activities. His favorites were wiring up the house and adding framing. Great fun. We spent a good part of a rainy Saturday here. The two of us enjoyed watching the huge K’Nex ball machine do its thing.
This is a fun unique place to test out some new activities for the kids. Definitely get there early for some quiet time before camps arrive.
This place is really cool and there is a ton of interactive fun science and engineering types of things to do. We did not attend any of the classes well we were there, but had a lot of fun. We spent about an hour and a half here and I don't know if we would have been able to spend more time there unless we went to a class or if you came with multiple children so they could run and play and build together. This place is not huge so don't expect a ton but there are a lot of individual stations you can visit and interact with. 4 stars Because it could use some more stuff to do and see
We expected there to be more to do here, but we were still able to spend 3 hours here. The kids (6 and 9) spent the majority of their time building with large blocks and building race cars. We hoped to build robots or find coding activities. They had a good time, but we don't plant to come back.

I photographed this couples beautiful summer wedding. We utilized all of the building and outside scenery that we could and got so many photos. I love being at Hyland Hills - the staff is so helpful and courteous and there's lots of great photo spots!
I would highly recommend the Hyland Hills Ski Area as a wedding venue for anyone who is interested. The space is beautiful, and can accommodate events of many different sizes. It is also super affordable to rent, even for a larger group! We initially met with Suzanne, who was extremely helpful in helping us make our decision. She was transparent about the venue, and did not make us feel pressured to make a decision. Once we decided to book the venue for our wedding, we worked with Gabby as our day of coordinator. Gabby did an amazing job, and I would highly recommend paying extra for a DOC through the venue since they know the space so well. Gabby helped us with every question we had, and was a hero on the day of the wedding, making sure that everything ran smoothly. All other staff members were wonderful as well, and we got many compliments on the venue. Thank you Hyland Hills!
The beauty of these hills covered in an assortment of trees and amazing colors deserve an award. Fall activities are greatly appreciated by my family while riding the ski lifts. A wide variety of foods, bonfires for roasting marshmallows, and walk a llama! What fun! The view from the top is breathtaking.
Great skiing hill located in the metro area. They make good snow and have a lot to offer in a small area. There are beginner areas and loads of fun jumping and trick areas. Would recommend to kids and adults. The experience was fun, and we will be back...possibly get a season pass for the kids next year.
We had a blast over the Hyland Hills Ski Area. The staff and instructors were great. Special thanks to Kevin, who gave me a bunch of great tips and coached me. They have different hills at different levels, so everyone can enjoy it. It's fully staffed in all areas, in case something happens or someone needs help. My daughter and I had a great time!
Came here for a wedding. What an absolutey beautiful venue. A terrific view through the floor to ceiling windows, looking at the lovely green ski hill. The wedding was very nice. The staff did a great job of ensuring that the day went off without issue. Would definitely recommend to others.
We went here to see what in-town skiing was like. Nice chalet, reasonably priced food, large terrain park, along with rope tows and (3) 4-person lifts. Overall, we enjoyed it immensely. My only complaint is that the 3 person lift to the far left of the chalet was horribly disorganized. They had 6 different entrance points for the line and no-one knew who was next to board. At one point we had a group of 4 young girls who were less-than-assertive, and so we sat there for almost 20 minutes waiting while everyone else in the other lines went right on by. After that I figured out how to demand my spot. But it still is dependant on the people in front of you. They need to limit it to 2 main lines, with a singles line that can join on the side. And speed the lift up a little bit. It felt extremely slow. Especially when compared to other chairlifts that we have seen at the other ski hills we have visited this year. Definitely would go here again!
Hyland Hills was a gorgeous venue for us to have our wedding. We got so many compliments from people of the beautiful landscape and even the building inside. Suzanne was super easy to work with as we went through the planning process. She was very knowledgable and was able to answer all of our questions! Highly recommend doing a big group photo of all the people you love on your wedding day as well!

Had a great experience with the Family I have a 9 ,7 and 2 year old. What a great time we had fun for all. We ended with lunch at Mickey's Diner.
Nasty outside? Spend the day here. All ages will enjoy these exhibits. Whether it's your first or fifty-fifth time there is always something new to discover. Arrive at 9am or later 2 hours before close for the most quiet time. You'll need at least an hour and a half to truly discover everything but older kids can blast through things quite quickly. The ages that will enjoy this the most are 3-12 but anyone with an open mind will have a great time. Please make sure to use hand sanitizer frequently to avoid spreading germs. Validate your parking ticket at the desk inside MCM.
This place was so cool and swanky. The vibe there was everyone was so happy, playful, and kind. I absolutely loved the fact that they allow big kids (like the age of 105 years) to play on the playground and participate in exploring things with the young kids. People were wearing customes, and I fit in with my tie dye pants which a number of people complimented me on. Like I said, what a fun happy vibe. You can tell the workers there are happy and enjoy their job. Also, what was really crazy cool was that I saw one of my child dreams come true there. When I was in elementary school,I had this dream that my school gym was throwing this big "slip n slide" soap bubble party and everyone, including faculty, were sliding through the soap bubbles across the gym floor Luke a slip n slide. It was such a cool dream to have as a kid, but to see it actually happen here was amazing. They had a room with foamie soap bubbles all across the floor and you could blow huge bubbles, wash the cars there, or glide throughout the room since it was similar to a gym floor setting. That put me in awe, to actually see my childhood dream come to life here at the museum. Oddly enough, on the playground, I overheard someone else say that they had a dream about this too in reference to the playground. We were there for 4 hours, and could have easily stayed longer... a common theme here because the kids are having so much fun.... it was a really cool awesome experience. One idea though that might add to the experience, wouldn't it be cool if the cafeteria was like the rain forest cafeteria like the one at Mall of America, just because that is also a neat experience and the two would go so well together (rain forest Cafe and the children's museum). However, the Cafe is fine as it is too and there's the gift store to look at the toys while munching on food. Either it was really an awesome experience and I loved the vibe there.
My children had a great experience. So much to explore. We can't wait to go back. I did order tickets in advance online, it was very easy and convenient. My 7 year old daughter says the best part of the museum was the city room with the post office, grocery store, and other play areas. My 1 year old son loved the room with the ping pong balls.
It was well worth the money. There are several areas for the children to play in and so many different things for them to do. It’s very stimulating for the children and they can play here for hours would definitely come again.
This place is great! My niece had a great time and burned off a ton of energy running around. I loved all the signage encouraging ages 1 to 100+ to enjoy different parts of the museum. I appreciated that in almost every area, there was an older kid version and a younger kid version which made the museum really diverse. Highly recommend the ball launcher area!
We always get the yearly pass! It’s a trek from the south metro but honestly it’s worth it for a full day of activities and all in one place. We went to the Halloween event this year and although their socials stated they were sold out with limited tickets available for walk-in. We walked in and there were consistently 2 people in line (which moved fast as they were properly staffed). The staff member who helped us get tickets advised that the tickets weren’t really limited as it’s hard to turn away kids with costumes! We checked in, it was definitely busy so keep your littles close. They had their normal play stations open along with trick or treat at every corner handing out handful of candies. They also had extra activities like make your own Chex mix, Halloween bingo, build your own glow in the dark crown, light up ghosts (out of modeling clay), build a spider ring, etc. It’s always fun for the kids and they had curious George theme in their seasonal playroom.
The best children's museum I've been to! Mutlilevels, highly interactive, sensory materials, and fun themes throughout. We were fortunate to come during the Wild Kratts exhibit which my daughter loves. Be prepared to bring a few change of clothes as there is water play areas. Our highlights were the special exhibit, lasers, and car wash!

Absolutely wonderful tribute to a better time - Minnesota’s own airline. Loved seeing and learning even more about Northwest - volunteers are very knowledgeable, and lots of Northwest (and other defunct airline) memorabilia available for sale! Would definitely visit again!
Friendly informative staff. Totally worth the visit if you have an interest in airline history. There are aircraft models, uniforms, seats, control panels and more. The video on display is worth the watch. Note: Difficult to find, basically it's in the 3rd floor of the Crown Plaza hotel. Best is to ask direction from someone at the front desk. Minimal signage (none outside and a couple small signs in the hotel).
This free museum is a hidden gem for airline enthusiasts, those interested in history and memorabilia, and children attracted to aviation. Although the museum is relatively small, there's a lot to see, so set aside an hour--or more--if you want to read all the displays, study the photos, and view the various scales of aircraft models on display. The small gift shop has some unique items in stock that would be of interest to Northwest Airlines and aviation fans in general.
We had a great time visiting the Northwest Airlines History Center I highly recommend visiting. We learned a lot about Northwest Airlines, one of the most historically influential airlines! The volunteers were very friendly and helpful!
I wanted to take my disabled mom to see the museum. Unfortunately it requires a trip up a flight of stairs which would make that impossible. There was a sign at the base of the stairs that stated to see the front desk. I proceeded to the front desk. They were uncompromising and insisted that my disabled mom take the stairs. I told them they are getting a bad review, and i may also contact the BBB. To the best of my knowledge, this seems to be in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
We enjoyed this little museum quite a lot. It has everything from uniforms to airplane seats to vintage toys and games. The most interesting piece to me was the wicker chairs that represent a bygone version of airplane seating! It's free and the volunteer staff are friendly and informative.
The museum is on the 3rd floor of the Crown plaza hotel. It is offered free to the public. They say you don’t need to be a hotel guest. There is a elevator which goes to the 3rd floor but you can't get there without a hotel key card. We we're told by the hotel receptionist we'd have to take the stairs, which does offer access to the museum without a hotel room key card. She even said, “It's only one flight of stairs”. One flight is no problem for an able person but my wife is disabled and has great difficulty with stairs. After several appeals and actually talking to a museum volunteer who came back to the front desk with us and talked to the receptionist lady on our behalf, Crown Plaza was unyielding and would not make any other accommodations for us, (like riding us up on the elevator, which seemed like a reasonable request). We drove about 6 hrs from Chicago,IL but there was absolutely no way I was going to alienate my wife. I am going to complain about the poor accommodations for those with disabilities Crown Plaza offers though.
I’ve been staying for 5 days at the Crown Plaza Suites MSP Airport and it was not until the last day that I came across the NW Airlines museum on the 3rd floor. What a great experience which I had more time! Wish the hotel lobby had more signage. Please visit the attendants are very pleasant and very knowledgeable.

Never been here before but it was really nice! Most of the stands take cash, but there's a stand at the entrance that will charge your card (credit or debit!) And give you tokens in exchange which apparently last forever and can be used at any Bloomington farmers market. No extra charge too, so better than an ATM! There was multiple different food trucks, drink stands, smoothie stands, and even some locally roasted coffee stands. Most of the farmer stands were much of the same -- which makes sense since that was presumably what was in season. The produce looked really fresh and tasty, and seemed about the same price as you'd get for high quality produce at the store. Even though it wasn't a music day which is normally on Wednesdays thru the summer, there was a small band that played around lunchtime. I will definitely be coming back in the future!
I love this Farmers market. It's not too big, not too small. Just wish it had a bit more diverse selection of items. There is a point where the same table of vegetables starts to get redundant
I just moved to the area and decided to check out the Bloomington Farmers Market for the first time and it was such a great experience! Most of the stands only take cash, but there’s a convenient booth right at the entrance where you can use your debit or credit card to buy tokens. The tokens never expire and can be used at any Bloomington farmers market, which is super handy (and way better than paying an ATM fee!). There was a fun mix of food trucks, drink and smoothie stands, and even some locally roasted coffee vendors. Most of the farmer stands carried similar produce, which makes sense since everything’s seasonal — but everything looked really fresh and vibrant. Prices were about what you’d pay for high-quality produce at the grocery store, maybe even a little better. |Even though it wasn’t one of the usual music days (those are Wednesdays in the summer), a small band still played around lunchtime, adding a nice community vibe. One tip!!!..... PLAN TO HUNT FOR PARKING and a bit of walking. The lot fills up quickly, and there’s a bit of a stroll to get around all the vendors, but it’s totally worth it. I’m already looking forward to coming back! 10/10 <3
My daughter took me and her 5-year-old nephew (my grandson) to this farmer's market. There were a lot of booths with fresh vegetables and homemade foods and products. The vendors were very friendly and nice. It was an enjoyable place to visit, and I found several food items to buy!
A delightful local farmers market right by the civic center / city hall. They have a lot of different food and item vendors. I really enjoyed it all
Love the variety of vendors and casual atmosphere. Make sure you bring cash. There is an ATM inside of the civic center if you forget some though. There is also a booth to swipe your EBT card which makes it very accessible.
Not the biggest market but definitely has a very great selection of fresh veggies.
Great experience every time. Good vegetables, good variety, and easy parking. Will be back again. Also got these cute flowers for only $5!

Artistry's musicals are superb. There isn't a bad seat in the house. I've seen Footloose, Sound of Music, and Newsies all multiple times there and they are phenomenal!
We saw Singing in the Rain last night and it truly was The best play I have seen in years, the talent, the costumes the dance numbers everything was wonderful. Thank you for having such a wonderful facility so close. Again just can't say enough how wonderful the play was.
I went to see a musical play by ARTISTRY Theater and visual arts called "Once on this island" . The play was great. The center was beautiful, it had a art gallery, a gift shop and beautifully decorated
Saw the Nutcracker here last night. It was a great show. We were in the Schneider Theatre and there wasn’t a bad seat in the house. Our seats were row E towards the middle. Great seats! But even if you were further back, it’s a smaller theatre so you can’t go wrong.
Just enjoyed “Once On This Island “ So incredibly talented Singing and Dancing were amazing So very pleased
The Alive and Kicking play was truly AMAZING and JOYFUL filled with HEART WARMING STORIES and MUSIC. The director was full of love for his company of actors an singers. His energy was amazing to watch! Could watch it all over again!
Great theatre company in the heart of Bloomington! The customer service during the ticket purchasing and before the show is great! The quality of the product is top notch! Each show is led by excellent actresses & actors working within beautiful sets and often times feature a live band/orchestra. They do require masks to be worn by the audience while in the theatre and the DO enforce it, which is a plus! I can't recommend enough! Buy a ticket, sit back, and enjoy!
I absolutely adore this theater. I've seen at least half of their shows over the last couple years. For those who can't normally afford to go to the theater, you should check out their PWYC (pay what you can) nights. Also, if you're under 30 years old, I believe you can get tickets for $17. The talent here is incredible and they are worth paying full price, but don't let the cost stop you from seeing a show.

Great trailhead for starting a hike, or mountain bike ride, snowshoe, or cross-country ski outing along the Minnesota riverbottom trails. Plenty of parking places. Porta potty. Interesting programs in the restored historic house every Saturday. Lots of wildlife, including deer, turkeys, eagles, hawks, coyotes, foxes, owls, etc.
We arrived before the starting time and were warmly welcomed inside. The staff was dressed in period attire and were very knowledgeable about the family. The great great grandson of the family was there as well! It was awesome talking and learning from him. They had beverages, songs, and activities for the guests. I would definitely go back again to experience the home and grounds during different times of the year.
September 16-20 2019 is River Rendezvous at Pond Dakota Park. This in a wonderful, fun event that is held one week in September each year. The daily work and chores are brought to life by a talented group of re-enactors. Each has their specialties from candle making, blacksmithing, trapping and how to wash your clothes. Teddy Roosevelt tells you about the Rough Riders and the charge up SanJuan hill. The Norwegian immigrant tells the store of how he came to America with everything he owned in one small trunk. The history of Native America life and culture is told as it was passed down through dance, music and ceremony. On Thursday evening the event is open to the public from 4:00 to to 8:30 pm. There in a admission charged of $6.00 children 4 and under free.
This is a wonderful Saturday afternoon place to visit for the whole family! Check the calendar for special events.
This is an outstanding historical place and a gateway to the Mississippi River Bikeway. Super views to the south meaning sunrise and sunset opportunities.
Calm, neatly kept, and a variety of easily walkable trails. Great place to spend an hour ot two.

This place is amazing, so much stuff to see and such helpful staff.
A wonderful trove of Bloomington history artifacts.
