This is our favorite beach. They have the strip of stores and restaurants right off the beach. It's very clean and family-friendly. If you like volleyball, they have a ton of courts to play on. If you want a refreshing bite to eat, I suggest the acai place called Good Sol. So, good!
Parking is a challenge, sometimes. The pier has plenty of benches. They had a volleyball competition the day I visited. The bathroom might be without toilet paper at times. I noticed the area to be clean. There are restaurants and shops near the boardwalk. Very lively. I noticed a skateboarding group riding together. I also noticed a live band playing music on a Thursday night in July in one of the outdoor bars.
As a portrait photographer, this is one of my favorite spots to shoot couples at sunset and even capture spontaneous street portraits of interesting strangers. It’s a lively, cinematic place — no surprise it was one of the filming locations for La La Land. The crowd brings great energy, and the golden hour light here is simply magical. If you’re a fan of dreamy light and city vibes, you’ll love shooting (or being photographed) here too!
Perfect mix of beach vibes and walkable charm at the Hermosa Beach Pier...it was one of our favorite stop and stays during out road trip along the California coast. The pier is awesome — wide, clean, and perfect for an easy stroll with ocean views in every direction. What makes it extra special is how seamlessly the beach connects to all the nearby shops, cafés, and restaurants. You can grab a smoothie, walk straight onto the sand, or wander the pier at sunset; it all feels effortless. Great energy, friendly locals, and that classic SoCal vibe without the fuss.
It’s within walking distance from the nearby Hilton. Along the way, there were local volunteers guiding people, and we got to chat with them about all sorts of things. The whole place had such a warm, welcoming vibe — very California-like and really lovely. If you go early in the morning, there aren’t many people around, so it feels super refreshing and I definitely recommend it. But the wind is pretty strong, and in late November it can get a little chilly.
Charming, sunny, and full of life. Hermosa Beach is the whole package—clean beach, scenic pier, and a vibrant downtown lined with palm trees, street art, and colorful boutiques. You can surf in the morning, shop for quirky tees by lunch, and enjoy fruit-blended ice cream before sunset. Super walkable, great for families and couples, and filled with good vibes.
Great time! and we got so lucky there was a silent piano concert , we attended and it was magnificent watching the sunset and listening to the piano.
I love it! It depends when you come sometimes it can be full, but there are benches on the pier and a beautiful sunset to watch. There’s food around too, you just have to walk a little.

I am 26 years old. I was told that my skill level is lower B. What I wanted to get from the camp was to get better with my shape, platform, and footwork to help me pass and set the ball better. Coach Brandon Joyner covered all of them and gave us great tips, and coaching on how to implement them. They showed us all effective drills to help us implement the mechanics. My concern before signing up, I was worried that I will not get better in a short period of time because 3 days is too short to learn everything, but, the better at beach camp was systematically design to actually get better! Coach Brice Paxson, Coach Alex Kaiser, and Coach Tomas Goldsmith are super talented, and passionate about coaching. I am honored to meet all of these powerhouse coaches who are super humble, and they treated us like a family and they served as backbone of this camp. They all gave me an honest and transparent, and customize feedback that helps me to get better. My experience was more than a 5 star! I cannot wait to do this camp again.
Mark and Brandon are incredible coaches with a lot of experience, and they truly know how to connect with every player. Whether you’re just starting out in beach volleyball or looking to take your game to the next level, this is the perfect place to be.
Wrapped up my first weekend camp, it was great. I didn't have any expectations, just wanted to learn a bit more about defense, came away with a lot more. I'm 36, BB player most days and thought I had a pretty decent understanding of the game, but turns out I have a whole heck of a lot to learn. Solid mix of new players and experienced players. The coaches were phenomenal, they covered everything from warmups to drills to mindset, very hands on, it was amazing to hear from guys who have competed or are competing at an elite level. Genuine dudes just looking to help you and improve the sport. They broke my game down, now I get to rebuild and redefine my game. 10/10 would go again and recommend you do as well, go hungry to learn. Brandon, Joe, Matt, Kevin thank you for taking the time. I'll be looking for you at Manhattan Beach.
I can’t recommend this experience enough! The coaches go above and beyond! not just in teaching, but in giving you the time and space to truly implement what you’re learning. The environment was incredibly patient, supportive, and encouraging from start to finish. Before coming to this camp, I had never hand set before. I always opted to bump pass instead. But by the end, I couldn’t believe the confidence I had behind my second touch! What stood out most was the variety of skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. Everyone walked away having gained something valuable. The drills were awesome well thought out, engaging, and full of opportunities to grow and improve. Ian, Tomer, and Brandon were incredible at providing feedback that was not only constructive but totally digestible. Their coaching style made everything click. I’m already looking forward to the next one!
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with my first Better at Beach camp. I am in my 50s, had two knee replacements and a sore shoulder. I am slower and achy, and was concerned about being able to hold up in camp. So, I signed up for the 3 day camp. The coaches were AMAZING, kind, encouraging and gave great tips and feedback. I did not feel marginalized (other than in my own head) about not being able to perform. But after the first day, after settling into my group, I started feeling better, not so overwhelmed and tried to focus on 1 or 2 things for each session. I got wonderful tips to help my shoulder pain and correct my swing. My primary goal in going was to learn the technique of beach setting. My FAVORITE take away was learning the net protector system. Since I can’t block or jump, this was an ingenious way of allowing short people or people who cannot block to feel valuable in formation. I will definitely sign up for another camp to build on what I learned. The participants there were extraordinary kind too! Volleyball people are awesome!
Better at Beach is a truly incredible organization that has something for everyone! In this review I'll give a few highlights from my recent journey from being super fit to not so fit, and how BAB helped me keep volleyball in my life! A couple of years ago, I did the 5 day camp in St. Pete (which was amazing), but I was forced to take a break from volleyball afterwards due to some health issues. I reached out to Mark in the middle of my health drama for some guidance, and he turned the answer into a whole podcast!!!!! It was not only very good advice, but it was also very touching and helped me get through a hard time. Now that I'm finally playing again, I took advantage of the day pass option to attend the Vegas camp and give myself something to work towards and see how my body held up. (I highly recommend this if you want to just give one day a try and if you like checking out new locations) Vegas went well, so I signed up for all 3 days of the Va Beach camp. During this camp, I realized just how far I'd been set back with my time off and I asked the coaches for some guidance in regards to this. It is hard to put words to how incredibly supportive, compassionate, and insightful the coaches were for the entire weekend after this question. Alex, Brice, Bryant and Brandon gave tips on how to stay in the game when we don't come into it with perfect fitness. Whether that's because someone is older or getting over an injury, it was just absolutely incredible how they were able to tailor the training to EVERYONE! Alex was my coach most of the weekend and to compare our group from Friday to Sunday you just wouldn't think that amount of improvement was possible. I came home so pumped that I signed up for 2 more camps! They have made volleyball instruction so accessible by having camps all over the country, offering courses online, and going through so many topics with pros on their podcast! I highly recommend everything they have to offer!!!!
I had such a great experience at the Better at Beach one-day camp ( it was actually 3 days but I could only participate in one). Everything was super organized, and the atmosphere was both fun and focused. Coach Ian was amazing—friendly, humble, and so approachable. I’m a lower intermediate player (just moved up last month!), and I’ve only been playing beach volleyball for a year. I’ve been practicing a lot, but after this camp, I truly feel like I’ve taken a big step forward. One thing that really stood out to me was how Coach Ian took the time to help me with my float serve, even though it wasn’t part of the formal program. I was having some trouble with it and asked him for a few pointers. He patiently gave me a few minutes of his time and shared some great tips. That kind of dedication and kindness really impressed me. Thank you so much to the whole team—I learned a lot and I’ll definitely be back! 🙏🏐
I am 32 years old I learned playing pickup so I don’t actually know my level. I just put B. I wanted to figure out my fundamentals and figure out as much as I could in order to elevate my game! Coach Ian and Jasmine were awesome at answering all my questions and making it a great experience. My only complaint is that it wasn’t long enough. I definitely would like to sign up for one of the 5 day camps next time!

I love this Farmer's Market because has a lot of differents vendors for the small.size of the market. Very friendly environment, all vendors are very nice and there are also lot of Food Vendors if you want to eat your lunch at the Market and seats with table. They also have live music every Friday from 2pm-4 pm. Great place to hang out, having lunch and buy groceries. Really good the ready to cook at home Pizza from Fresco Pasta and also I love their Ravioli.
Loved it! They have amazing produce! They had romanesco & okra! 😋 Easy to park, & great vibes 😎💙
Pick up a bag of locally roasted coffee beans from Haya Coffee. Great quality beans at around $13 for a 12oz bag. Then get lunch at the Tamale stand. They make fantastic gorditas that will ruin you for all other taco stands.
Reestablishing itself with new layout allowing both safety and freedom of motion. Went first Friday of March 2021 after the long shutdown and cautious reopening. Lovely as always. Music set to E of booths with entrance exit to market on North side.
I loved the food, the chicken bowl. The strawberries were the best I've ever seen, so big and beautiful and lasted a long time without wilting....It was my first time, I was impressed.
I love this farmers market. Great ratio of food to eat vs traditional produce etc. Love Harry's Barry's and the flower guy now that he is back. Go there pretty much every Friday.
Very small farmers market. There are some good Growers, and other vendors also. But far from the best farmers market in the area.
I love the farmers market. The kids love going there after school on Fridays ❤️

Excited for Fiesta Hermosa and trying out the delicious Smoke Lab Vodka cocktails! Super smooth!! Rice based spirits just seem lighter and smoother, I'm sold. Super fun you can buy the custom cocktail mixes from Practical Magic, love that shop, it's like having a private bartender in a jar for your home!!
Big. Busy. And I'm afraid just a large collection of the usual street fair booths. I looked in vain for clothing or food or jewelry or crafts with something truly creative. The good news is that it was sunny with a coolness in the air and I got in a good walk.
Loved it! Parking available at Northrop Grumman. Buses took us to and from the Hermosa Beach Festival. Very convenient. Restrooms could be kept cleaner. No toilet paper. Overall my family had a great time.
2023 Memorial Day weekend
So NOW this Year the City is selling TICKETS to attend. When it used to be festive and FREE up until now! >>>DON'T BUY THOSE TICKETS PEOPLE! This is something that the City would sponsor in the past and they made plenty of money on the expensive BOOTH RENTALS. "Pasadena" on buying those "tickets" please, ~ even better...don't attend at ALL. We aren't! !!!

Resin Gallery provides an eclectic mix of artwork from local artists. In addition to the amazing artwork, Resin Gallery has shows year round that are fun for everyone. I would highly recommend paying this gallery a visit.
Resin is totally out of this world, and yet conveniently located right here in Hermosa...Drop by, show up, tune in, and experience the creative magic and conscious connection of Indivisible Arts!!
Vision Board Party organized by Amy Cimetta. It was unique and fun in a place southwest of the lawn bowling bocce ball on 6th street.
Resin Gallery always has something new to see. So much interesting and reasonably priced artwork from local emerging artists. Visit often, find a treasure!!!
A great place for artists to share ideas, collaborate and display their art. Events bring the community together and provide local artists a chance to get exposure.
Best vines in the south bay. You world do well to stop by and meet the owner. One of the most interesting places I've ever visited.
Always great people, crowd, artwork, display, music, food, ambience.

I really enjoy visiting this museum. It is free for general entry and they have great programming throughout the year. Easy to park. Docents are very friendly.
It was small, but very good. We really enjoyed our time there. Probably half an hour, but it was interesting to see information about the history of Hermosa Beach and as my hubby is a surfer, he found it very interesting.
tiny building, kind of hard to find the entrance since apple maps lead you to the front of the community building when it’s all the way on the other side. not much to say about this place except that’s its free and if you care about hermosa beach history more than i do then you’ll have a blast hahaha
A great presentation by two local residents of Hermosa Beach, whose work has been inducted into the Smithsonian ; Gersld Ravel and Cindy Whitehead
This is a great small town museum. Hermosa Beach has really changed over the years.
Born and raised in Hermosa I miss it so much but the memories are fantastic I’d never want to grow up anywhere else !!! Blessed to be from the HB!! My dad and uncle actually went to Pier Ave School back in the day ..
This place is full of history, from Jerry Lopez’s lighting bolt surfboard to Dennis Wilson’s of the beach boys 1962 Hermosa beach (replica) surfboard.
