Enjoyed another great dinner at Eckert's Country Restaurant Belleville. Our meal included the friend chicken, summertime peach trout, and the best bread pudding. Our waiter Josie A was fantastic. She was knowledgeable and kept us informed as to the status of our meals. Highly recommend Eckert's Country Restaurant. A+
Lovely grocery store with unique items. I bought biscuits, jam, apple cider, blackberry cider, apple cider, and smoked summer sausage. All were very good and the staff is very friendly. Oh, great cheesecake too! The restaurant was ok. Waitress wasn't very friendly, potatoes were barely warm. They were also hosting breakfast with Santa in another room. They were kind enough to come into the regular dining area and pose with kids of all ages.
This place is more than a restaurant. It’s a whole orchard. I stopped through on a roadtrip, and what I stumbled upon was nothing short of amazing. The donuts and custard are delicious. There is a sound stage with plenty of outdoor seating, outdoor games, a cider house, and a country store. I left with some cool glassware and a 4 pack of apple blackberry cider. The staff in the cider house were friendly, helpful, and outgoing. My only regret is not grabbing a bottle of fruit wine, but I’ll stop through on another trip.
This is a fun place to visit! I ordered the mac and cheese with pulled pork and jalapeño chips (it had a bit of a kick to it), which I really enjoyed. The sweet apple cider was also crisp and refreshing. The restaurant has a very homey feel to it, and the service was good. After, I browsed their grocery store and they offer plenty of local products. Before leaving, I stopped at their donuts and custard window and tried the cider donut—a must try, especially this fall season!
We came here before going to pick peaches and blackberries. The food was very underwhelming and for me and my partner - both of our meals came out room temperature/borderline cold. The whole experience was average. We were missing syrup and butter for pancakes, little things like jam for biscuits - and our server never really came back around so it was not a great experience. It did not appear very busy so I am unsure if this was an isolated experience but I wouldn’t go again.
This place was great fun. Service was super friendly, food was delicious, and atmosphere was festive. Can't wait to bring my family here.
Orchard was great, good crop and harvest. But the restaurant was pretty bad. First off, the tea tasted like they dumped half a pound of sugar in it, but that’s fine because I don’t like very sweet tea and I know a lot of people do. But the chicken sandwich and fries were pretty bad. Waited 45 mins when restaurant was only half full just to be presented Wendy’s quality food. Overall I’d rather eat at Wendy’s where I could get my food in 5 mins rather than wait that long.
Wow, that was delicous! We had a great date night. Got to enjoy live music and the store. Then popped over for dinner. We had the chicken N waffles, and pot pie. The oakra was hot and crisp, the strawberry salad was perfectly tossed. Our server Faith was kind, funny, and very informed. Next time you in the area, stop in and ask for Faith you won't regret it!

Lovely experience, there are so many lights and the petting zoo never disappoints. My family loves getting the stuffed animal at the end every year but it is usually a $20 cash only donation.
Can't wait to make a Retreat here. We jumped off the highway for gas after leaving St. Louis only to discover this great treasure 6 miles from our turnoff. Beautiful property, promising deep reflection for faith experience. Deer and outdoor Stations of the Cross. Opportunity for Mass and Retreat schedules. A must go!
Pretty place to walk around, but there were a number of parts that seemed dilapidated, under construction or unexpectedly off limits. The gift shop closes really early on Sundays. Get a map at the visitor center otherwise you won't have any idea what you are doing. Also note - map isn't exactly to scale after you start walking around. The only location that had votive candles available (for a small donation) was the Lourdes Grotto. I imagine this would be a gorgeous place to visit in the winter around Christmas.
Nice place. Came here to take an AllTrails walk. There's not really any trails, so be prepared to walk to the side of the streets. Went into the Visitor Center and through a museum-like area explaining the origin of Our Lady of the Snows, which was helpful. To a non-catholic, which "shrine" was supposed to be which was confusing.
A place to sit and reflect. Has a pray walk...which leads up to spire.
Free experience. I have wanted to visit this place for quite some time, and it did not disappoint. Spent 6 hours there and could have been there longer but the people I was with got hungry. This is a spiritual place and a safe place to come and pray, reflect, rejoice, and more. It is a good place for a long walk, too. Enjoyed praying and lighting a candle at the grotto, walking the 14 stations of the cross, the children's playground with splashpad, and so much more. There is a gift shop and museum, and we walked through both. I can't wait to return for a guided tour or retreat.
So beautiful! And a great place to get some reflective exercise as well. If I lived in this area, I'd probably be here nearly every day. Thank you for a very peaceful visit. 🙏
On a beautiful late August afternoon we headed out to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Snows. As we walked around the grounds in such peace and beauty you couldn’t help feeling lighter. The Shrine is beautiful and the grounds are filled with art and prayerful places for contemplation. A lovely afternoon spent in the beauty of creation.

Love this place. They have amazing pumpkins. They are so friendly, Free place for kids to play, this year they have a mini maze for the kids to play in, petting area. Delicious apple cider slushy. Apple donuts and a small bakery on site. They have 6 different types of apples to pick. In late summer that have different potatoes. This a great family owned place. Definitely worth checking out.
It was great fun to be there. Picking fruits and vegetables and having them while roaming was really awesome.
Very nice orchard to visit . The complimentary tracker ride takes you to the orchard. They have some small farm animals and a playground for the kiddos. You can purchase pumpkins, gourds and apples inside the open air barn shop. No charge for the ride to the apples. Thank you for a pleasant visit.
Braeutigam Orchards is such a charming spot for fresh fruit and vegetables in season. It’s family-friendly, peaceful, and everything you pick tastes so much better than the grocery store. Love supporting a local farm like this — it’s a yearly tradition for us now.
Went on a class trip, farmer Dan was awesome. Got to see animals and pick delicious apples! They have amazing apple cider and donuts.
Today was our first time visiting and it will certainly not be our last! Could not have asked for a better experience! My 2 year old had the time of his life feeding the pigs, the cows (Chocolate Milk and Fudge), chasing Tom the turkey, feeding Gruff the goat and holding Freckles the bunny, not to mention picking apples and the tractor ride! But the best part? The best part was meeting Farmer Dan. He welcomed us so warmly it was as if he was welcoming us into his own home. We LOVE Farmer Dan and Braeutigam Orchards (and farm)!
First time visit and we loved it! My first time apple picking. They have a small petting zoo area. Bakery goods are fantastic. Apple cider donuts are killer. They also sell produce. We found our new Eckharts.
Cheating the scale: we have chosen Braeutigam Farms every year for the last few years, for pumpkins and apples, and specifically because it feels more homey and family owned than Eckert's down the street. But not anymore. This year my family of 4 and my brother's family of three all went together. My family bought $129 of pumpkins and apples, but I witnessed the young blonde woman with her hair in a ponytail and hat (at about 11AM Oct 12th if the farm is monitoring this) pushing down on the scale with her finger to weigh down the scale when we paid. There is no question it was intentional. I saw her doing it and locked eyes with her (at which point she removed her hand from the scale). She clearly did this regularly, as after I paid, I watched her do it to the next family. Just gross. It takes away from the family atmosphere. It's cheating - pretty much the opposite of the fun family vibe that the place is striving for. So keep your extra few bucks this time, its not worth making a scene in front of my kids, but you lost my family as a visitor for the future.

Concerts & Shows
Slide 1 of 8
The Lincoln Theater is the oldest operating movie theater in the Midwest, opening in 1921. The theater has plenty of historic charm, paired with modern image and audio quality. The popcorn is delicious and they regularly add new things to their menu. I love that they started hosting concerts, it adds a lot to the Belleville community and the auditorium is built for exactly that. The seats aren't the most comfortable and it can be a little difficult maneuvering through rows of seats in the upstairs theaters. Prices are very affordable, especially on Tuesday nights. Unsure if they still offer birthday parties, but I attended one when I was a kid in the basement of the theater after watching a movie with the party.
Very reasonable price wise. We patronize this theater often. It never fails however whenever we go to the concession. They don’t have but 1 or 2 hot dogs cooked or cooking. So folks that ordered hot dogs have to leave the movie to come back out to get them. Depending on which theater screen you viewing. The volume is too low.
The theater is old and smells...floors are dangerous for people with disabilities. Staff are casually dressed and are more interested in conversing with each other instead of the people entering the facility. It was nice to look inside but shall not be returning. The show we saw Cher tribute, if you could turn back time was mediocre. During costume changes for " Cher" they had these ridiculous lighted hoop displays. One piece of advice, ones back up singer's should be able to coordinate with each other and be able to dance to the beat, not look like they are treading grapes!
We took our neurodivergent child to a kids movie, How to Train Your Dragon. We sit in the back not to upset other patrons because he often reacts. The theater was 1/5 full and yet, someone near us complained about his commenting on the movie. Being on the spectrum, he wears ear protection at movies. He wanted to speak about the movie with us. He wasn’t being disruptive. Instead of finding any of the available seats in the theater, the only two adults sitting near us decided to complain to the staff. I can appreciate that they may have been disturbed but there were better ways to address an excited child. Regardless, what will keep us from going back to the Lincoln is the fuss that the management made, AT the seats. Instead of asking to speak to one of the adults privately, to address the complaint, he came with both guns blaring while we were sitting IN the theater . It was loud and traumatic enough to our son, that he couldn’t stay to finish the movie. We had to assure him that he didn’t “ruin” the movie the whole way home. We are both local and try to support local businesses. But, if you’re trying to save a few dollars compared to the big theaters, if you value customer service, or if you have children that want to be children, this may not be a place for you.
Rented a screen for a birthday party and it was so fun! Easy set up for our Switch, great communication and fun times. Definitely recommend.
Been there many times with Mom and Dad sing cover bands and next we're going to see that young girl that has puppets. I can't think of her name. That's in August. It's a nice place!
Concessions server seemed uninterested and not helpful for first time patron. Floors are dirty and stained. Stairs are steep with narrow footings. Theatre seating has no place for beverage. Pricing is typical which is expensive. Netflix etc is such a better value.
We had a great time it wasn't crowded and the movie was great finale destination.

The 3rd Annual Flag Day Car Cruise at Scott Air Force Base was just wonderful! Kudos to the volunteers and organizers. A big thank you also to all those who serve in the military and their families. Looking forward to going back next year.
Nice displays of aircraft. The C-141 brought back memories, seeing it fly every day out of McGuire AFB while I was in training at Fort Dix. Very well maintained park. Easy to navigate to and from, the entry is before the gate and there is plenty of parking.
It is a simple, but extremely well thought out site. The lawn is perfectly manicured, and the walkway is perfectly linked to each of the planes so that you can seamlessly walk from one plane to the next. It was a great, but quick stop. Plan for about 30 minutes.
Very interesting place. 6 planes in the current museum space. All planes have a history with Scott Air Field. I chose these photos to share. Scott was and is very important in medical care and rescue. Even airplanes nee to have a clean windshield! Enjoy your trip to Scott Field.
I loved this Airplane park it is a very beautiful place!! You can learn about the history of the planes at the same time enjoying the landscape!.. And it’s free
Really cool little display of planes. You can get up close and personal with them.
Worth the stop. The planes look great.
Great historic Park at the gates of Scott Air Force Base. The park is open to the public and you don't need a base badge to visit. The parking lot for the park is marked and is next to the park. Don't park at the parking lot of the visit center at the gate of the base. You get to see lots of awesome and historic planes and totally worth a visit.

I went to this museum for a school observation project. The people working there are super nice and enjoyable to be around. One man was very kind and showed us his Ford Pickup Truck!! I really enjoyed this place and will definitely be recommending it to my friends.
Whether you've lived in Belleville your whole life or visiting for the first time, this small museum is worth a stop for an hour. In a very strong union city, the museum does a wonderful job of painting a picture and capturing employment in the Midwest over the past 200+ years, from ironing to electricity and everything in between. As of Summer 2014 the museum will be expanding to an additional adjacent building, so you can expect more great things to come. Be sure to also checkout the hours of operation on the museum's website to plan your visit.
Really neat little museum with a lot of interesting displays. Volunteers are knowledgeable and very friendly. We were there about three hours but it could easily be done in less time if you didn't look at everything as closely as we did lol.
This is a hidden gem in Belleville. The staff their made the museum come alive with their stories. It is worth a visit.
Great conversations with the Host that were there‼️
Fascinating museum that covers a part of local history everyone should know. If you live and work in Belleville, this is YOUR history.

The museum is a Victorian era home with a great collection of items that show the rich history of Belleville. The museum is free with donations accepted. Pick up a great book like the one we did as another good way to contribute. The museum has volunteers and a curator on location to answer questions.
I work for find a grave website and I do ALOT of research on graves, cemeteries (existing or nonexistent now) genealogy and other historical things related to graves or burials and cemeteries. I’ve called them MANY times needed research done for graves, burials, or finding cemeteries that no longer exist so I can update the website. They NEVER call me back. I’ve called them a few times and ask them about the research weeks later and they would keep saying “oh. We will get to u when we get to u. We have your number so we will call when we get to it.” It’s been months now and they never called me back. I ended up doing the research on my own. If u need any historical information try the library in Belleville first. They helped me more than the actual historical society.
Totally enjoyed the Haunted Tour of Belleville. It was nice to get exercise on a beautiful evening, learning the creepy history of the buildings in town. However, I did not understand what these random stories actually had to do with Belleville or how it "tied" to anything related in town.
We went on the haunted Belleville walk provided by the St. Clair County Historical Society. It was very interesting. I never knew Belleville had so much history and so many firsts.
A step back into Bellville's history.
Informative look into a middle class family's home in Belleville during Victorian era and how they might have lived.
It was what you'd expect, a house and little more. A little bit of history to see, and check how things were. It is free and you just walk in and the staff were really nice.

Never able to attend with these hours of operation. Longer hours during the week or weekend hours would ensure more visitors.

Such a fun place to stroll through. Half old fashioned general store, half antique store. Lots of junk and stuff to look at. Has an upstairs and a downstairs too. Also has one of the largest cookie cutter selections I've seen. Prices are reasonable and a nice selection of old school candies as well. I love the old general store counters and the folks that work there are very nice!!
This store is incredible! It is a fantastic place to find unique vintage gifts. My favorite part is the upstairs clothing area. There are some seriously gorgeous finds up there. I'm planning on doing a bit of my Christmas shopping at Keil's.
If i could give 0 stars i would....I'm new in town and live right down the street from here. I was excited to look around and maybe find some nice treasures for my new home. I walked in and greeted with a hello and a smile to the woman behind the counter. I was met with a grimance and silence.. ok... no big deal. So I went around looking at some of the items. I was followed to and fro with suspicion. Mind you I am a tiny, friendly smiley person, I felt unwelcome the ENTIRE time. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I left with out uttering a farewell. I won't be back again.
We got to go to Keils while in town and what a neat place. It just goes on and on.. our kind of place w lots of fun choices.. reasonable prices.. sweet staff.. did some holiday shopping here and we'll be back again when up this way..
This is my all time favorite store. I could literally spend hours in here. They have a wonderful selection of vintage clothing, accesories, furniture, and decoration. I'd go to Belleville just to visit Keil's antiques.
This is my favorite antique store of all time! I love coming in here and seeing all the neat stuff they have. From clothing to drawer knobs, they seem to have a wide range of almost everything!
The best of the best. Reasonably priced. Nice people and very helpful. If you're selling they are fair on prices also. I am there monthly just to see what I missed from last month. You wont be disappointed.
We love browsing the treasures here! Full of interesting antiques, vintage kitchenware, jewelry, and clothing. There is a basement full of treasures where you always find something interesting
