The best skiing resort in NY. Parking can get tight if you come late. Ski lifts are in good condition. Pricing on tickets are extremely pricing but if you come here with good snow and great weather you’ll be happy. For us the drive here is about 5 hours so we generally sleep in the ADK park before. Conditions here are always better than white face
Gore Mountain is hands down one of the best snowboarding destinations on the East Coast! We visited on a Friday and had a fantastic time exploring the multiple trails, all with great snow coverage. When we returned on Saturday, the weekend crowd was noticeably larger, but the wait times for the gondola and lifts were surprisingly manageable. The multiple lodges were well-equipped and efficiently staffed, while the restaurants and bars provided quick and friendly service. From the well-maintained trails to the excellent lift system and outstanding staff, Gore Mountain delivers a top-tier winter experience that’s absolutely worth the trip!
Only did the gondola ride up to the top. The top had a wedding going on so ability to access the area was limited and this was not mentioned when buying the tickets. The tickets for $26 a piece is pricey for the experience. The trails are weird as they also have biking on them. If you want to actually get to the summit you have to hike another 1.2 miles (says takes an hour to do) so you have to plan accordingly to get to the summit.
Visited during the harvest fest. The vendors were diverse. Could have used more food trucks as the lines were very long. The gondola ride to the top of the mountain was very nice with great views.
I love Gore! Classes are so good! I got group classes for lessons and I learned how to ski and they are a lot of adults doing so!! I love how knowledgeable instructors are and love how big it is. After 4 sessions ski lessons I’m now in bigger green area and got to enjoy something new in my life. Group classes price is not that much more than just day passes so if you don’t know how to ski it’s the best way to get into it! I love how big it is and they have multiple trails and lifts. Gore mountain staff is super super nice in General. I got some problem and they helped me a lot and can’t thank them enough. The only thing I don’t like about here is the quality of food is not good at all. There is a restaurant at the end that you need to avoid going there because you gonna have the most disgusting chickens -at least what I had- and low quality service
I just want to see and experience going to Whiteface mountain and see the fall leaves. The drive to Lake Placid is relaxing lots of nice scenery.
don't bother with the scenic sky rides. the gondolas need to be updated because they're so scratched up, you can't see the view. we were really disappointed and felt like we wasted money.
We took the day gondola to the top to catch the view. Fairly priced and nice service helping my little niece on and off the cabin. Stellar view from the top!

We went on Friday with 2 kids and we had a great experience. It’s a must thing to do while on vacation in Lake George. The views were great. We have learned some history about the trails and President Roosevelt. Very knowledgeable and nice team!!! Thank you for making this experience unforgettable!!! We will be back next year for sure. ;)
Such a treat in North Creek! Helpful staff made the trip very easy. Four seater peddled by 3 people and it was easy. There were great views of the Hudson River & forest. Families with small kids, they have harnesses to strap in the kids. All other passengers have a lap belt. Some picnic tables at the half way point. If you're the first cart, you'll have time for a very quick snack.
Wow, what a great experience! Revolution Rail North Creek is an amazing attraction along the Hudson River in North Creek. We went on the South River Run, which takes you south along the Hudson to the ending point where there are picnic tables and a short hike down to the river. The South River Run is about 8 miles out and back, taking about 2 hours. The station you depart from is really cool with a gift shop, restrooms, and some stuff to do outside while you're waiting. There is also the North Bridge Run, which I did not do this time. The rail bikes themselves are decently easy to pedal and easy for all ages. And I can't forget to mention the tour guides, as they were absolutely amazing. They stay in front and in the back of the group, and then at the ending point tell you some history and awnser questions. They were all great. I highly recommend Revolution Rail North Creek if you want a fun experience in the Adirondacks!
I think sometimes people forget they’re paying for an experience not to mention multiple staff members livings! I feel the price for what we got was expected! My boyfriend and I were road tripping from Missouri and this was our last stop! The staff was great and even took photos of you at certain stopping points which is something so appreciated! This has been on my bucket list for so long. Would highly recommend! (We also saw a bear!)
Must do when visiting Lake George, NY. Our multi generation group, spanning in age from one to 70+ years young, enjoyed our South River Run tour. Beautiful scenery, fun atmosphere and excellent history lesson on the excursion. Highly recommend!
This is an absolute must if you are in the Adirondacks. We did the North bridge run and we had so much fun. Friendly guides, beautiful scenery, fresh mountain air, and learned some history about the area. It is definitely exercise (fun exercise) especially to the half way point but the way back was much easier . We even coasted without peddling at times. There's a basket on the back of the car to bring a small cooler and they take a photos for you if you have your cell phone. We are Definitely doing this again when we come back. Great family experience! Would love to see this expand to WNY or the southern tier area of NY so we could do it more often!
An absolutely wonderful experience through Hadley, NY. The views are beautiful, we encounter a few deer and other wildlife across the way. The rail itself is breathtaking, and the experience was 100% worth every penny. The rail guides are super helpful, informative and kind.
Great experience while visiting lake George, of course the morning we pre-booked in early October was in the low 30s, luckily they sold gloves in the office. Staff was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. Will be checking out their other locations in the Adirondacks as well as other states. Want to try the Hadley trail to pedal over the 90ft high trestle bridge. A++

We had the BEST time with Link, Max, and Square Eddy! We just so happened to book our trip before we knew a huge storm was blowing through, pummeling the area with rain. In the 12 hours before our scheduled trip, Link and Lori did a great job communicating with us, letting us know the status of our trip and adjustments that needed to be made for safety as the water kept rising. In the end, they felt it was not only a safe trip, but going to be really fun. I won't lie, my heart skipped a beat hearing the safety instructions thinking I was likely going for a swim, but Link kept us feeling safe the whole time and knows so much about the area - we felt confident heading into some gnarly waves! We laughed so hard and had SUCH a blast - it's going to be disappointing ever doing this again not after a storm! Cannot say enough great things about Square Eddy and the amazing hospitality - they also packed us a yummy homemade lunch and gave us snacks and cold ones after an AWESOME adventure!!!
What an amazing experience with Square Eddy! We did the hike-in/raft-out option at the end of May, and my family and I had a fantastic time. The hike was beautiful (even in the rain), the whitewater rafting was so much fun! Link was an amazing guide and so much fun to hang with, he was very knowledgeable during the hike and during our rafting trip. We loved that waterfall, too! Lori Phoebe did such a great job meeting us after the hike, prepping us for the raft trip with wetsuits (water was still quite cold), preparing our delicious lunches and snacks (my family loved the cookies and homemade lemonade), and the hot tea was perfect on a cool day! Link and Lori made us feel like family and we got to meet their dogs, too. Overall, we highly recommend them for a unique experience hiking in and rafting out in the Adirondacks! Thanks for the wonderful memories! Paddle Check!! :)
Love Love Square Eddy❤️ This is my third year on a white water rafting trip with Square Eddy... two day trips and a rafting overnight trip!! Next will likely be a hike in/raft out adventure:) I do enjoy everything about this smaller adventure company - the proprietors, Lori Phoebe and Linc, really are the best!!!! They make the whole adventure fun with their loving, high-energy spirit!!!! They are all about safety, extremely knowledgeable about the river and history of the area and are just plain fun to be around!!!! Lori makes the bestest lunches ever!!!! I so grateful that she caters to my gluten- and dairy-free diet!! Regardless, everything is made with love and is fresh and healthy!!!! Their staff is just as they are, warm, knowledgeable and fun which makes the whole day awesome!!!! I'm looking forward to next year's trip already❤️❤️
If you want to go WWR in the Adirondack’s, Square Eddy Expeditions is THE best company around! A smaller company and wonderful guides with YEARS of experience. Super fun and very safe riding 3+ rapids on the Hudson in July! The scenery is absolutely stunning and the company provides a delicious, healthy lunch during the trip. We had a blast with our group and guides (Phoebe, Julie and Max) This company has a cool vibe— we highly recommend booking Square Eddy!
I can not express enough how great of a time we had. Lori took my partner and I in her personal raft while we followed 3 other rafts in our group. She is a wealth of information on history and family of the area as well as knew everyone we saw along the way. This was a class 3-4 rapids ride (better than anything I have ever been on) Lori knows every rock in the river to give the most exciting experience with safety. The food was clean real food thought out with great consideration and tasted great. Her homemade cookies were a highlight. The whole group and bus ride felt like a family.
We had an AMAZING time rafting with the team at Square Eddy!! From the first phone call to the day of they kept us up to date. On the day of our trip they provided everything we needed, our guide Julie was highly experienced and made us all feel like great rafters even though we were all newbies! The Square Eddy team made us feel like family. We can’t wait to go back again!
We had an awesome day with Lori Phoebe! Four adults and three kids (9-9-8) spent the day paddling down the Indian and Hudson rivers. Relaxed but safe vibe, very personal feel to the entire experience. Looking forward to coming back!!
We had an outstanding experience on the river with Square Eddy! Linc and Lori were great hosts and Lori is an excellent guide. We enjoyed the personable experience and vibe of this small but awesome company!

Our family’s recent white-water rafting trip with North Creek Rafting was an unforgettable experience. The adrenaline rush of navigating the rapids was exhilarating, and the stunning scenery of the surrounding mountains was breathtaking. Our guide Frank was top-notch - knowledgeable, funny, and ensured everyone felt safe while having a blast. I highly recommend this company to anyone seeking an exciting and scenic outdoor activity in the Adirondacks.
First run of the season, and it was amazing!! Boats and equipment are top of the line, to include full wetsuit, booties, outer jacket, everything you need to survive an Arctic river! They also have a really excellent rafting location, it's 17 mi long with lots of class 3 and 4 rapids. Lunch was plentiful, guides were laid back and extremely knowledgeable, highly recommend.
We had an amazing white water rafting trip on the Hudson River Gorge with North Creek Rafting Company! Our guide, Jason, was fantastic, super informative, good-humoured, and made sure we were always prepared for what was coming. He gave us well-timed breaks and pushed us to paddle hard through the exciting rapids, making the experience both thrilling and safe. The equipment they gave us was excellent. The wetsuits (yes, they provided multiple layers) were so good that even after jumping into 4°C water (about 39°F), I didn’t feel cold at all! The food was another highlight - a delicious pesto chicken wrap, fresh oranges, hot chocolate, and a delicious chewy, chocolatey cookie. The overall rafting experience was the perfect mix of excitement through the rapids and peaceful relaxation in the calmer sections of the river. Highly recommend North Creek Rafting Company if you’re looking for a fun, well-organized, and memorable adventure!
We had an absolute blast tubing with the North Creek Rafting Company! From start to finish, their team was accommodating, professional, and prioritized our safety and needs. We chose the unguided tour, and they went above and beyond by shuttling our tubes to the river and picking us up afterwards, even driving us back to our car. Their staff was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience seamless. We felt confident and cared for throughout our adventure. Whether you're looking for a guided or unguided tour, I highly recommend North Creek Rafting Company. We'll definitely be back and can't wait to explore more of what they have to offer. Five stars isn't enough – they're the best!
Mark was our tour guide and he was great! He made us laugh and even taught us a few tricks to do with our raft on the rapids! Very knowledgeable of the waters and because of his years of experience, we felt very safe. Had a really fun time! Lunch was good and the cookies were delicious!
We had an absolutely incredible experience with North Creek Rafting Company! From start to finish, everything was organized, fun, and felt very safe — which made it easy to just relax and enjoy the river. A special thanks to our amazing guides, Eric and Coleman, who were with us the whole trip. They made the day unforgettable — keeping it fun, full of laughs, and at the same time making sure we felt safe every moment of the way. Paddling down the river with their energy, guidance, and great sense of humor was truly one of the best adventures we’ve ever had. Thank you for making it so memorable — we can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend North Creek Rafting Company and especially Eric and Coleman — you guys rock! 🚣‍♂️🌊✨
I never got the chance to go out with them as we only booked for 2. We were supposed to be with another group, however that group canceled leaving us as the only two. Instead of just canceling on us as well, they made every effort to get us on with another company which we successfully did. I cannot recommend this company more.
Wonderful experience each trip for many years. The guides are very experienced and provide an exciting rafting adventure while implementing necessary safety precautions.

My husband and I went rafting with a group of friends at the end of April. The weather was cold, but the rafting was amazing! All of the guides were fun, professional, and kind. Hot soup was provided during and after the trip which helped with the cold. One suggestion for rafter who are picky eaters, like my husband, would be to bring your own food/snacks. I enjoyed the food, but my husband doesn't like vegetables or textured food haha.
This is an amazing outfitter! Highly recommended! Our hosts, Pete and Cassandra were warm and gracious. Benny, our guide on the river, was very knowledgeable and funny! He was also patient and supportive! The prepared lunch (by Cassandra) was delicious and the snacks at the end of the trip were refreshing. Also, a shout out to Cassandra for returning us safely by bus after the trip was over. An awesome day for me and for my family! Thanks to all at Beaver Brook Outfitters who made this day possible.
Had a great time rafting over Memorial Day weekend. Booking was a breeze and communication about what we needed to bring/wear was great. Our guide, Marnie, was incredible! She was an excellent communicator and adjusted the difficulty level based on what we were comfortable with (yay, surfing!). Lunch was delicious, but I would recommend bringing snacks since it’s a long day and a good workout. Also, don’t forget to put sunscreen on the tops of your hands! We had an amazing time and will definitely be back next spring!
We had a fantastic day with Revolution Rail and their tubing partner Beaver Brook Outfitters. Everything was so well coordinated — the shuttle system between activities made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. We started with a two-hour rail bike ride through Revolution Rails which we also highly recommend. After the ride, a shuttle took us to the tubing portion with Beaver Brook Outfitters. The transition was easy, and again, the staff was fantastic. They had life jackets in a wide range of sizes (child’s large to adult 3X), and the river guides were attentive — keeping everyone away from rough edges and making sure no one got left behind. They were especially helpful when my child fell off the tube, quickly helping her back on and reconnecting us with the group. Even more impressively, when my daughter accidentally popped a tube with a lost earring, the guides were right there on the river, patched it up quickly, and made sure she was able to keep floating comfortably with rest rest of the family. That kind of responsiveness goes a long way. The only downside was the lack of changing facilities after tubing. You get out of the water right where the cars are parked, and with about 60 people tubing, a good number were trying to change. The rest took a shuttle back to BBO where there are changing rooms but those of us that did the combo Rails to River were a little bottled up while changing. Also, the staff was amazing across the board, and it would be helpful to have QR code options for tipping since cash can be hard to carry on an outdoor trip. Overall, this was a fun, scenic, and extremely well-run outing, and we’d definitely recommend it.
Such a great place for kayaking and im sure whatever else they offer! We called in a little bit late in the day and they were very friendly and accommodating for us and were willing to walk us through everything we were going to need to do before we made the choice to take the Kayak out! Peter is such a friendly guy and had some great recommendations on where to bring out kayak. All the staff there that we interacted with were great also! Thanks guys!
Rafting with Beaver Brook was an amazing experience. Their guides (ours was Patrick Harrison) are knowledgeable as well as skillful making it a learning as well as safe adventure. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend them.
This was our 7th annual trip with Beaver Brook and the team was once again outstanding. We had 44 Scouts and Adults in 6 rafts for an epic day. The guides were outstanding and many of them have been with our group for all 7 years. The equipment and gear was in great shape, the focus on safety and fun was excellent. We will be back again next year!
We had an amazing rafting trip with Beaver Brook Outfitters! The whole experience was so much fun and our guide Liam was the best—super knowledgeable, fun, and made us feel safe the whole time! Highly recommend!

Always an enjoyable experience on the S&NC. Always friendly, courteous and helpful employees. As a passenger, it's a fun ride, especially along the river section regardless of the season.
What a great way to spend a sunny fall afternoon! We thoroughly enjoyed the rail bike ride!
My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful ride round trip from Saratoga to North Creek. We have traveled extensively in the Adirondacks but this ride provided views of scenery we had not seen before. We enjoyed a delicious lunch on board as we traveled north and an excellent dinner on the return trip. A very memorable day.
We loved our trip from Saratoga to North Creek and back! Both breakfast and dinner were elegantly enjoyed on the train, and prices were reasonable as well. The trip delighted both us and our young companions (ages 7 and 9), and the free shuttle from North Creek’s train station to Gore Mountain was a big plus. We were all impressed by the friendliness and efficiency of the railroad staff as well. It was a fabulous experience.
I've taken many trips on this railroad, typically a few times a year since they started in 2011. Always a superb experience and first class service and vintage railroad equipment. The crew was always top notch, friendly and professional. One of the many things I enjoyed was the beautiful scenery otherwise not accessible by any other means. The fall foliage rides and winter snow train runs are my favorite. I love seeing families enjoying the trip, especially grandparents and their young grandchildren. The kids are all excited about riding on the "big train". A lot of seniors too enjoy the beautiful scenery which could only be enjoyed by train rather than a hiking trail. I'm grateful to both the Saratoga & North Creek Railroad and the counties of Corinth and Warren for keeping one of the few working rail lines up and running for all to enjoy. I hope to take the dinner train next summer. Sammy
Our several trips on the Saratoga & North Creek Ry have been most enjoyable. The first time we went first class and had a delicious dinner in the dome dining car. Other trips were by coach. The service always has been courteous and friendly and the scenery is magnificent. I do hope the railroad and local communities can find a way to keep the line running.
I have travelled on the railroad with family and friends twice and had a great experience each time. The dome car provided excellent views and it was fun to eat as we made our way along the scenic route. The food was good and the personnel very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I look forward to making another trip this year.
I loved the entire trip! Great service and suggestions for a variety of things to do in North Creek! I wish more seats were available for the diamond class, as well as a food service for the dome car but enjoying a glass of wine created by the conductor was the perfect way to savor the trip back!!! This is definitely a MUST DO every year.

Absolutely amazing experience with Hudson Rafting Co! The pricing is unbeatable, and the customer service was beyond incredible. Our guide Jake was super knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole trip fun and safe- perfect for beginners or anyone just looking to enjoy the river. We were running a little late, but the team was so patient and accommodating. Seriously one of the best outdoor experiences we’ve had. Wishing them nothing but continued success. You really can’t beat the price or the vibe!
The self-guided trip was disappointing. Only one rapid at the very beginning, which should probably demote this to 'float trip' rather than whitewater. Photos provided by the guide were laughable but a nice gesture, I guess? "Can't miss" take out spot was very missable, and Zeke warned us we would need an expensive helicopter rescue if we missed it. We finished the route about 30 minutes earlier than expected and had to wait around at the takeout for Zeke to return with his personal truck (with seats covered in dog hair, which wouldn't matter on its own but just epitomizes their customer care). Besides that, we saw a bald eagle and managed to have some fun out there, though it wasn't due to the outfitter.
The website and the online booking process is easy to navigate. I would recommend making a phone call to the business prior to booking online. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Tyler and Zeke were terrific. Our guide Zeke made the experience fantastic. He was professional, courteous and very informative. He is a man of many talents! The half day trip was perfect for our family. The views were scenic and beautiful. The whole experience was relaxing. Plus the location was convenient since we stayed at Lake George. Highly recommend this business.
It was an Amazing experience rafting at Hundson with Hudson Rafting Co. Tyler our Guide along with Zack & Hucky the wonder Dog were very experienced and fun to be with. They gave us lot if time on the water.. I would highly recommend them for family trips and customized tours...we will be back soon for another round of Level 5 rapids with them.
Went down the river July 4th with my family and had a awesome day. Very scenic trip but the rapids could have been bigger although my guide made it a fun time by surfing and was very knowledgeable and skillful. We had a great time and it was a perfect day in the Dacks!
Went down the river with some girl friends and had a great time with guide zeke. Zeke added a colorful experience and seemed to be knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Trip was beautiful and the only down side was getting stuck on a few rocks.
So much fun going down the river with these guys. Great young guides, awesome whitewater, and the dinner they gave us afterwards was really tasty. Would definitely recommend this company.
I had a wonderful day on the river. The knowledge and heritage of the guides put us all at ease. The Hudson River trio was spectacular.

Full of beautiful/artistic pieces, as well as practical things. Definitely a nice place to visit in town. The ladies working here were also very personable.
A beautiful treasure in a small ski town! They have a huge variety of items including men’s, women’s, & children’s clothing, shoes, and accessories. Beautiful furniture, a huge selection of lighting, bedding/blankets, pillows, rugs, and bathroom accessories. You’ll find home fragrances, scented oils, an abundance of candles, and candle holders. There’s gorgeous etched wine glasses and stoneware. Downstairs there’s Adirondack books for teens & adults, while upstairs there’s toddler & children’s books, toys, and games. My personal favorite is the year round Christmas section, which is located downstairs!
I would highly recommend visiting this local souvenir shop if you are looking for unique and charming home decor and clothing items. As soon as you step inside, you will be struck by the rustic and welcoming atmosphere, which is perfect for browsing and shopping at your leisure. The store has a wonderful collection of furniture items that are sure to add a touch of personality and charm to any room in your home. What I particularly appreciate is that the store focuses on Adirondack specific items, which means you can take home a piece of the local culture and history with you. One thing that really sets this store apart is their commitment to customer service. Not only are the staff friendly and helpful, but they also take the time to wrap your purchases beautifully, so you can give them as gifts or enjoy the experience of opening them at home. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting this local souvenir shop for anyone who wants to support a locally owned business and bring home some charming and unique items. The store's cute rustic vibe, focus on Adirondack specific items, and commitment to customer service make it a must-visit destination for anyone in the area.
We want to thank Laurie and her staff at Hudson River trading company for such a beautiful tree. We get many compliments on this tree. Small businesses like to support each other and this is definitely a gem from her shop.
Got great mustache wax And oil for my beard. Staff was sweet. Had a ton of knick-nacks amazing furniture and hand made picture frame. .
This store is a gem! Just when you thought you were done looking around, there’s a basement! I purchased so many unique gifts here. Worth a visit!
A gem of a store! The sandwiches next door at The Hungry Crow are delicious and the staff is always incredibly welcoming! They also have a great selection of craft beer!
Great store! I do all my Christmas shopping here and there is something for everyone. From local jewelry and books about the area to gorgeous hand made Adirondack furniture they have something for everyone and every budget. My mom especially loves the local, hand-made beeswax candles.

Beautiful little museum with lovely, knowledgeable docents and lots of local historical lore. Exhibits on Teddy Roosevelt learning he would become President, local ski history, and of course, the railroad history. Museum is free with suggested donation.
Excellent little museum. Nice volunteers that were knowledgeable. Teddy Roosevelt room, ski history room, HO Scale diorama of the area, and Delaware & Hudson RR room. Recommended stop, especially after doing the “Revolution Rail” bikes along the Hudson.
It was a great day to ride the rails! The weather could not have been better and the guides were absolutely wonderful 👍! It's a great place to go in pairs or as a group. There was actually a group there and it was a bachelorette party. We were a party of four and had a totally good time. The views were spectacular!!! I do wish they'd cut the weeds down in some areas of the track and wish there was a restaurant near by as we wanted to have lunch afterwards; but had to drive back inwards to town a ways. All and all it was a fun family day! We look forward to doing it again! 😁
Great place had a lot of fun. Fran and Joe told us about the great history. It also has some really old articles from back in the day. Must go if you are in Adirondack
A great piece of history to appreciate and experience.
We had such a lovely visit to the museum. The docents were knowledgeable and such a pleasure to talk to. The train display was beautiful!!
Very informative museum with a beautiful miniature model train layout with several stops. Lots of history.
Interesting little museum with the nicest people working (volunteering) there. The train display replicating the town, of the '40's I think, is really cool. Liked the ski museum room too, and the rest of it as well. Stop by if your around in the afternoon, it won't take too long. Be sure to leave a donation, every little bit helps

Visiting the region on vacation we did a chocolate making class here and it was SO FUN! The folks here are kind and funny and full of energy. They also really know what they're doing. We've had craft chocolates all over the world and these were some of the best. Great place to buy a self-treat or gifts. We will be back very soon!
BARKEATER Chocolates was both an educational and enjoyable experience for any chocolate lover! Andrew did a fantastic job explaining the rich history of chocolate and its rise in popularity. The hands-on aspect of the class made it even more worthwhile, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the process. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by to support this wonderful local business—whether by purchasing their delicious products or, even better, taking the class yourself. It’s a fun and memorable experience you won’t want to miss!
Sadly I cannot say we did any chocolate making classes. We were just passing through on motorcycles. I can say the chocolates and the varieties were very yummy. A must stop if you’re in the area.
Went with my daughter as part of SUNY Adirondack continuing education class. It was very interesting and fun. My daughter loved the ghost history and opportunity to "talk" to one of the ghosts. We made some delicious chocolate as well. 10/10 would recommend.
We’ve driven by Barkeater Chocolates several times during our visits to the area — that big word “CHOCOLATE” on the side of the building always caught our eye! We finally decided to stop in, and we’re so glad we did. The shop has a great atmosphere, and the chocolate speaks for itself — absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!
Cute little shop with delicious chocolates. I went during a ghost haunt and staff shared stories that were interesting. They have events - I would love to go back for one of the chocolate-making classes.
If you like chocolate, just come to that place it’s perfect 👌🏻
Buyer beware: (EDIT: a follow up appears at the end of this initial review.) We were stunned to discover their truffles are rock hard. I had never heard of such a thing, having enjoyed a wide variety of brands of delicious, chewy/creamy truffles from Europe & the USA over several decades. My teeth barely made an indent. I called the store after our visit and was told we should microwave one in 5-second intervals until it reached the desired softness. That led to a melted interior and a shell that varied from crunchy to melted in consistency. And they did not taste good, even after all that. I asked why there were so ridiculously hard and was told it was because they do not use any additives (while apparently everyone else does?) We also bought some bark, which was literally harder than real bark. We’ve been to a few of Europe’s leading chocolate makers and toured their chocolate-making displays and museums. I’d never heard of chocolate so hard one might easily break their teeth trying to eat it. Somehow, my wife and I must have missed that part? So, if you’re as ignorant about this as we were, try before you buy. If the chocolate had been tasty, it may have been worth adapting; but paying premium prices for what we got… ($3/truffle) EDIT — FOLLOW UP I just received a follow up call from Bark Eaters. After further discussing our experience, they offered to refund the cost of the truffles. As a former small business owner myself, I greatly appreciate their effort to have a satisfied customer! Also, since I posted the review, I discovered I had not yet eaten the “Cherry Chic” milk chocolate bar, which was absolutely delicious! Looking forward to a return visit the next time I go skiing or hiking in the area.

I've come here for years, between summer art camp for my children when they were young, dance recitals for my daughter and I always make sure I attend the Christmas concerts! Such a great place for the community to experience wonderful talent and artistry.
We really enjoyed the exhibition and mostly the people are the friendliest possible. The community is terrific. I will be returning soon.
Very nice facility. Here for the Johnsburg Outdoor Show. Lots of people, but not as heavy as last year.
Good community center. Plenty of information on activities and events in the area. Also functions as a gallery space showcasing local artists. We attended a presentation and unveiling of a recently restored pen and ink and watercolor piece depicting skiing and the ski train
Great concert. Exhibit very informative.
I've been in this beautiful building twice once for an art exhibit and second for a blues concert. Totally recommend!
A great community center in this small town. Great art gallery with plenty of rotating shows all year. Also Our Town Theatre Group has Two Main Stage Productions a year and they are always amazing shows.
A wonderful facility in the Adirondack Mountains. Awesome theatre productions through Our Town Theatre Group, amazing art exhibitions, and a talented, dedicated staff that brings in amazing artists of all kinds - music, art, fiber, and everything in between.

I have shopped there numerous times and it is a true gem. I have purchased unique recycled owls made by a local artisan that I give as gifts. The shop owner and mother are wonderfully helpful!
The shopkeeper was very friendly and helpful. Great assortment of goods to peruse or buy. Fair prices.
Very cute gift/home decor shop. A mix of old and new.
A little gem! Well curated antiques and gift shop that is clean, well priced and welcoming. I always try to pop in when we're up north.
This is one of THE BEST antique stores in the Adirondacks. I'm a regular. Everything is clean, neat, fairly priced and proprietor is a great community member.
Love this shop. We always find something in here. Very friendly place.
Unique little store. Lots of cool inventory and friendly staff! Will definitely be back!
Great place and good prices ! Always find something 💕

Eclectic little boutique on Main St in North Creek. Next to barVino. Shop then dine these locally owned businesses. This building was the original North Creek National Bank; vault still intact! Must see after a day on the slopes or a train ride from Saratoga.
