Stunning preserve. Hike, canyons, wildlife, loops, benches - all well cared for by kind staff. Absolutely worth a stop!
Stunning preserve! Birders paradise. Get here early to spot incredible birds and wildlife. Parking is also limited. The staff is very knowledgeable and will tell you the latest sightings and maybe where they were spotted. I recommend this for everyone who truly wants to enjoy and connect with nature. If you have someone with a disability or walking issues they can enjoy the area beyond the entrance or walk a little ways. Once inside the preserve there are benches surrounding hummingbird feeders and one can sit for hours! There is a good bit of shade and benches. I would consider allowing 90 minutes minimum for the lower loop. Closed Tuesdays.
Such a gorgeous hike, suitable for kids and older adults. We go every year for the fall foliage.
Lovely birding area with nice walking trails (somewhat steep). Lots of rare hummingbirds and other species.
A true natural paradise. Ramsey Canyon Preserve is a magical spot for hiking, birdwatching, and enjoying the peace of nature. The trails are well-marked, offering stunning scenery, clear streams, and abundant wildlife. During spring and summer, you can see hummingbirds and butterflies everywhere. The staff at the visitor center are friendly and very knowledgeable about the local ecosystem. A hidden gem in Arizona that’s absolutely worth visiting.
A beautiful place to follow trails under trees. Birds! Turkeys!
This was our first visit, and we will definitely be back! Absolutely beautiful, and the scent of pine everywhere was wonderful. We had several wildlife encounters (see photos). We made it to the first viewing area of the Overlook. We would have loved to make it all the way to the top, but I was feeling it. Lots of steps on a fairly steep trail, thankfully there's lots of shade on the way. Will have to get to the top another time, when I'm in better shape. There are lots of benches along the way, and the map the volunteers gave us was helpful in seeing how much further we had to go! The map details about the numbered stops were very informative. There is so much to see here! Bring lots of water and wear your sunscreen, even with the intermittent shade. We're considering the annual membership pass since we will certainly be back. Thanks to the volunteers for helpful tips before starting our hike. *We had a Coues deer calmly graze very close to us, then cross the trail right in front of us. Unfortunately I tried uploading an .mov clip of this, and also after converting to Mp4. No go.
It really is a nice hike to the top! Worth the hike too. We had 5 kids with us, none of which are too outdoors oriented. They all did fine with some benches to rest as you go. Friendly staff, will be back!

We enjoyed the beautiful mountaintop views of the sunset. Drive the gravel road to almost the top of the mountain, then access the peak via a short, fairly steep hike to the 100 degree views! Other mountain ranges are in view, as well as city lights, after the sun sets. I was too late to get my National Park stamp at the visitor's center, which closed at 4:30pm, but I'll be going back to get it while I'm camping nearby in Huachuca City.
The hiking trails are great, especially at the top of the pass. Very panoramic. The road up to the pass is rough and narrow but doable. The cave is not much, but worth visiting if you like caves. The trail up to it is in good shape and the rocks you have to climb down to get in are stable and easy. It's real dark, bring a good light and gloves are nice for the rock entrance.
Great place to hike and explore nature, has camping area and day use picnic area. Beautiful country side. Not far from Sierra vista.
I really enjoyed this place. The scenery is fantastic. The cave hike is a lot of fun. It’s practically deserted. Can’t recommend this enough if even remotely in the area. We did it as a day trip from Tucson. We will definitely be back some day.
We love this park! We've been here three times and would definitely go back. Definitely rough terrain on the vehicle going up and down the mountain. Dirt single path mountain road much of the way. But it's fun! Beautiful views and trails! They do have a junior ranger program here if you have kids that are interested in getting the badge! Park staff were friendly and helpful! Clean restroom facilities at the office and a few throughout the park. Lots of wildlife and vegetation observe!
A fantastic place to hike and meet new people. The views are spectacular!
Excellent and historic canyon drive with wonderful vista views. #arizona
Hiked the Coronado cave today. A little tough getting in climbing over boulders and coming back out but once you get in it's easy peasy. There's some beautiful stalagmites coming up from the floor of the cave. One or two stalag tights coming from the ceiling of the cave and it looks like the cave has been abused in the past since it looks like there used to be maybe soda straws hanging from the top of the cave but no longer. Still a fun thing to do and there's several other great hikes in this park. Highly recommend we will go back.

It's absolutely stunning. The views are amazing. The cross and the Virgin Mary are huge and awe-inspiring. There is a small Catholic Chapel that holds masses. Please wait for masses to end before you go in to look around. It's a nice place for quiet reflection and prayer, even if you aren't Catholic. There are lots of photo opportunities outside. We live near Our Lady of the Sierras, but just recently took our family visiting from out of town. It is now on my "must see" list for when we have company. There is parking below with many steps. I'm disabled, and my son was able to drive me right up to the chapel and cross. He had to drop me off and drive back up when we were ready to leave.
My wife and I had heard about Our Lady of the Sierras and couldn't wait to visit. This is an awesome inspiring and deeply sacred place! We parked near the entrance and took the extremely strenuous walk to the top. We didn't realize that the stairs to the right is where the stations of the cross begin. Upon reaching the top, we took in the amazing views of the valley and could see the border to Mexico. The huge statue of Mary and the enormous cross are truly remarkable. Much detail has gone in to the stations of the cross. It is a wonderful place for a pilgrimage. I highly recommend visiting.
Beautiful chapel with magnificent views. Very spiritual place. You can go to mass in the small chapel. Highly recommended.
At “Our Lady of the Sierras” and “Mary’s Knoll” was the most beautiful experience!! You definitely can pray for your intentions make a reservation for a retreat and have a private Mass celebration at the chapel is located at Viacrucis towards the cross and our Lady of the Sierras. Shrine!! You are looking for a quite place to meditate reflect or just explore peace with a stunning views!!here is the right place!! Only 1 hour 45 minutes east south from Tucson Arizona.
The drive up is STEEP!! It was very peaceful when we were there. We had the whole place to ourselves. We accidentally scared 2 baby deers when we were walking down. They looked terrified, and we tried not to scare them away from where mom would come looking for them, so we took a side trail/paved walkway, which led to where the house used to be? There were new looking backpacks with supplies just abandoned. Not sure if squatters are using the area, but we left quickly.
An amazing place well kept and strictly and closely monitored but wonderful to see.
This is truly a magnificent place to take photographs. Just one mile off of highway 92 up to paved roads climb up the hillside and there is an easy lower parking lot as well as a middle parking lot and even a high altitude parking lot. There is a beautiful newly remodeled wooden chapel with spectacular views of the San Pedro valley. You can see the mule mountains the Huachuca behind us. You can also see vast views into Old Mexico including the San Jose peak and the foothills of the Sierra Madres. There are beautiful walkway stairs up and down the hills with stations of the Cross and a really nice gigantic cross towering up into the sky which makes for a beautiful photo opportunity. I am not Catholic but I enjoy going here for the peace the quiet the moments of reflection and the photos that I can take of the San Pedro valley and you can see both Miller and Carr peaks from this location
What a beautiful scenery. Disclaimer.. I'd go up to the parking lot and walk up if you can., taking in the stations of the cross. Driving up is not bad. Driving down gives me anxiety because of the steep slope. But go! Experience the peaceful atmosphere of the chapel. The Lord is truly in this place. Light a candle for a loved one, write a message for the Lord. Kneel and be one. When the candle is lit and red, the body of Christ resides within the urn. The sights are amazing!

We went to the Arizona Folklore Preserve for the first time and saw Joni Harms perform. It is a very nice place with a venue designed for small crowds and an intimate setting.
What a wonderful quaint venue. Beautiful location, snacks, drinks, gift shop, and it wasn't overly loud. Very respectful crowd. Got to meet the artist Mark Stewart. Music was excellent. Can't wait to go back!
When living in Arizona I saw many fine acts at the Folklore Preserve. One I tried never to miss is Michael Grande. This is a wonderful place to listen to great music. A wonderful friendly staff and the audience is there to listen to good music. A great time was had by all.
Our first visit was to see and hear Patty Clayton. Our second visit to hear and see Nancy Elliott. Very welcoming music venue where one can enjoy entertainment in a smaller, more personal setting. Light refreshments and artist's recorded music was available. I am sure we will return, and we recommend that you plan a visit as well.
Thank you Arizona Folklore Preserve for being such a wonderful Venue in our area. It’s a great place to bring family and friends of all ages. The first time seeing The Michael Grande Polacco Show, they were captivated by his guitar playing and storytelling. An energy packed show enjoyed by all.
Great cultural resource for western/cowboy music and history. The musical acts from all over America visit to perform in a very small venue. The audience and performers mingle easily during breaks. Extremely talented musicians and poets.
Western music, the cowboy storytelling type. Award winning musicians. Fun for the whole family. Beautiful area, in Ramsey Canyon. Great venue, with a gift shop, snack bar, and friendly volunteers. There's even a raffle at intermission to win prizes, just for coming! Saturday and Sunday, show starts at 2 pm and ends at 4 pm.
Beautiful venue! What a hidden treasure! Quality entertainment! Can't wait to come back!

One of the most spectacular views in southeastern Arizona. The short 0.4 mile hike up to Montezuma Peak is always an exhilarating walk. This Arizona National Scenic Trail begins here at the US Mexico border. Unfortunately, they are planning on blowing up this mountain to build a stupid, useless border wall. Do you feel the danger here? Of course not. Take in the unobstructed view while you can because our government would rather destroy its protected areas in the name of a so-called immigration crisis, instead of building the infrastructure needed to manage immigration at the ports of entry.
We parked the car at the base of the mountain, not near the souvenir shop but a little farther inside the gate, and then hiked all the way up. Due to the elevation, it was a moderate hike, but well worth the effort. It took us about 50 minutes to reach the top. At the summit, there were restrooms and a water station for refilling bottles, which was a nice touch. From there, we did a short 0.1-mile hike to a slightly higher viewpoint, offering a spectacular view of the border. The walk down was much easier, allowing us to take in more of the scenery and appreciate the surrounding plants. There were also a few more trails available for those who preferred to drive up and start their hike from a higher point. Overall, I’d rate this place highly. The national park and souvenir shop were lovely, with a small historical display on the wall featuring photos. There were also binoculars and two seats available for birdwatching. I even spotted one of the birds—it was adorable!
Montezuma pass is a very beautiful place bring your camera lots of water and food. The last 2 miles of the journey are on a pretty good dirt road I took my little Hyundai sedan and was fine. There are two major hiking trails up at the top one two Coronado peak. And the other one is the Arizona trail which goes up to Miller peak and up to the Utah border from there. Spectacular views facing cananea and Sonora views of the Sierras and the mountains into mexico.
Beautiful area! Totally worth the drive for views and hiking. We drove the route on to Nogales. Gets a little boring in spots and takes a lot of time but the scenery and wildlife is wonderful.
The top part of the drive is unpaved to the top and it’s a tight squeeze with pull outs for someone coming down the mountain. That being said the views are exquisite there is parking and bathrooms at the top. There are trails to the summit and Yaqui trail as well you can see to the Mexican Border from one side of the Pass. Take your time going up a washboard road at some places but worth the drive up
Montezuma Pass was beautiful. The roads going through the park are super nice; however if you go all the way to the top the paved road ends a good distance before reaching the top. I would reccomend doing it during the day if your going all the way to the top.
This is a great little adventure road trip that can be enjoyed with anything from a little Mini Copper to Full out 4x4, stunning views up here. Now, I would suggest that you have a basic understanding of driving on rough narrow terrain, make sure you have adequate amount of water and tires are in good shape. Very rocky winding road. Plenty of trails around this area and small rest stops. As always check weather forecast etc -
This is an amazing destination at the end of a crazy road. If you are in the area, make sure to visit. It is worth the hike/climb to the peak from the parking lot.
