We loved our tasting experience at Sonoita Vineyards. We’ve been able to visit 10 wineries in the area so far, and Sonoita Vineyards has the best wines! Their grounds are beautiful. Love being able to go into the barrel room! Very cool. All around great experience. Will definitely visit again when in the area!
We can’t thank Sonoita Vineyards enough for inviting The Lost Bar Cart Company to co-host and serve at their Annual Harvest Festival this year. From the breathtaking views to the warm hospitality, every detail of the event was thoughtfully curated, making it an unforgettable experience for both vendors and guests. The team at Sonoita Vineyards was a joy to work with—professional, accommodating, and genuinely passionate about creating a welcoming atmosphere. The crowd was lively, the energy was incredible, and it was an honor to be part of such a celebrated local tradition. We are already looking forward to the next opportunity to collaborate and continue bringing unique beverage experiences to this beautiful setting. Thank you for trusting us to serve your guests and be part of the magic! — The Lost Bar Cart Co.
It was a hot Saturday in Tucson, Liz & Pete were playing at Sonoita Vineyards down in Elgin… time to drive down to wine country! Surprise bonus, Don Armstrong joined them. As always when Pete, Liz & Don take the stage, the music was outstanding. And I was happy to discover this venue: the Sonoita Vineyards staff were very nice, kind & professional. And then, of course, the wine. Their Baja Boo’z hit the spot. Need I say more? What a great afternoon! Definitely on the short list for a return visit.
Okay, first things first. Staff is amazing and friendly. The atmosphere and landscape is BEAUTIFUL!! Guess I should also mention how wonderful the wine is. So if you are looking for a great place to sit back, relax and drink some amazing wine, look no further!
Definitely recommend! Very nice variety of wines, and staff was amazing. Beautiful outdoor patio area with a nice view as well. Cute items related to wine for sale.
Sonoita Vineyards, Arizona’s first vineyard, is a must-visit! Moni was an incredible host—fun, knowledgeable, and made our tasting unforgettable with insights about Dr. Gordon Dutt’s historic legacy and Sonoita’s terroir. The MeCaSa blend was a highlight, and the cozy vibe was perfect. Worth the scenic drive! We’ll be back!
This was a very nice place with a pleasant family running the vineyard. My wife had a chance to taste multiple wines, and the staff was open to discussing and letting her try different things. They were knowledgeable and friendly, and the location was nicely maintained. I look forward to returning when I can tour everything and experience more of the site.
Quiet and in the middle of nowhere, Arizona, this winery is a hidden delight. With multiple bottles to taste, we choose to do the 4- tasting option ($21 per person, if you do not bring your own glass, and $15 per person if you bring your own glasses). The wines we chose to taste were each unique. The first, 2020 Baja Boo'z , a very dry Reisling was my partner 's choice. (I sniffed everything because I don't drink and drive, and I hope you don't as well.) The wine had hints of honey, honeysuckle, guava and very delicious pure grape. And, made with local grapes, you really get a taste of the local earth. This is an unfortified wine and all sugars had been fermented out, producing an extremely dry wine The second wine was 2015  Estate Fume Blanc. This is another white, very dry Sauv Blanc. Of the white I loved the smells, so many flavors hit my nose and I wished I could have tasted. My partner felt it flat, non-descript and too aged for this style of wine. For me, I wanted to taste because my nose said an entirely different opinion The third was NV Buddy D's, an okay, dry red blend of Zin and Sangii. The character of the Zin was missing, feeling more Sangii, but it is doable. The final wine was a full dud for my partner and for me a total win, the sweet red Syrah wine, labeled "Desert Nectar." Oh I could smell the sugars, fruits, earth. My partner dumped it. I look forward to this dessert wine later. Overall, my partner purchased the first and both of us will come another time to try the Tiger's Treat, a rich, red port-style dessert wine, which only sells by the bottle at $63.78. As you can tell, worth coming back.

A treasure. Must see and taste. The som really knew his stuff ! Or he was great at making it up. Either way … loved the wine and experience.
Good: the wine and spirits were really delicious. Very large selection and variety. They even had spicy pepper wine. The server was really knowledgeable and friendly. Even gave recipe ideas for cooking with different wines and spirits. Bad: a lot of the spirits were over priced for their styles and sizes. A lot of them were half splits and pricy. Suggest: try the wine tasting and the spirit tasting.
Great vineyard, winery, distillery. Lots of space to hangout inside and outside. Good selection of wine and spirits. Clean. Attentive staff. Pretty property and location, very peaceful surroundings. Won't be disappointed. Nice to have a distillery with a winery for variety in wine country. Will stop by again.
Flying Leap is a fabulous winery! Everyone should definitely stop by to experience it! You won't be disappointed! Enjoy!!!
Such a beautiful place! I'm personally an Irish whiskey guy, but I ordered the sample package of vodka, brandy, moonshine and bourbon. The vodka was a twice distilled spirit, with a flavor unlike ANY vodka I've ever had, I normally steer clear of the stuff, but it was spectacular. There were 4 different types of brandy, which again, I normally stray from, but there was 1 that stood out, the habenero brandy, out of this world, the rest of them i can't speak to, as it is not really my deal. Moonshine was ok, the maple bourbon was top notch. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, 10/10 would recommend. The views were mind blowing as well
Great experience at the Flying Leap, you can do the wine tasting or spirit tasting side or do both. The more spunky beverages are made at the vineyard like grape made vodka, I enjoyed tasting all the different unique liquors, the scenery is beautiful. I will definitely come back here to visit. Ohh and dog friendly too.
My wife and friend visited the wine tasting room while me and her husband visited the spirits side. The wines were impressive but the spirits were exceptional. Very creative distilling going on here and I left with a vodka, a brandy and a rye whiskey. Outstanding service, information and color was given by our server/hostess. Unique spirits, fun experience.
We had a mixed experience here. Nice venue in that it was modern and unique in that it had a wine vineyard/tasting room venue and a distillery/tasting room. The issue - to warn you- is if half your group wants to try one side of the building (eg taste wine), you can’t visit or be with the other half of your group drinking/tasting spirits! Also, our DD (designated driver aka not even drinking) dropped a glass as we was trying to carry 3 glasses with some tastes of wine to the table. Which begs the question… why were the staff not serving the tastes, and after it broke why did they jump to clean it up vs letting us do it? (I mean we offered to clean it up but really did not expect them to hand us the broom and dustpan. I do have to say it was 4:45 and they had a 4pm closing time - but still…that seemed “odd”. We did like the wine…did not really like the spirits. VictorB

Thank you Callaghan vineyards! Not only is your wine amazing, but your beautiful tasting room is so fun!! We appreciate your great, friendly customer service. Calloway is the best! So personable & professional! Our event with Bon Voyage Travel was perfect! Thank you again & we’ll be back for another tasting soon ❤️🍷
One of the best wines I have had. Definitely the best in AZ so far for me. We went to see about weddings, which they don’t do, but the wine wow! I like everything I picked on the flight. The rose was the best one I have had and I am a cab drinker. I have been looking for a rose for summer at the pool and this is it!!
Their wine is really good! I think the only thing that could be better is atmosphere. It was oddly quiet where we felt awkward having a good time. Still go here tho because the owners and wine are amazing ♥️
I’ve been a fan of Callaghans since the 90s. Every taste of wine I’ve had is amazing. The tasting room is quaint and comfortable. The outside area they created has a large covered patio overlooking the vineyards. A perfect spot for a perfect wine; from which they have so many to choose. On my most recent trip there, we brought a cooler/picnic basket with all our favorite bites to eat. I highly recommend doing this so you can relax, sip, snack on your personal favorites and enjoy. We tasted so many amazing wines, then settled on our favorites and had our personalized home made picnic on the patio while staring at the vineyards. Callaghans spends their time focusing on amazing wines. Authentic is my word for them. They are not pretentious. They are a real family with roots so deep into winemaking in southern Arizona. They are the pioneers of this southern Arizona wine region. Kent is a master winemaker. Always exploring and adventurous in his winemaking endeavors. I’m not a fan of writing reviews. I’m old school. But this place, Callaghan’s, these people, Kent, Lisa, family and crew, I want to step outside of my old school box for them. Because their wine is that good. And so are they.
Very good wines in a very nice setting….both indoors and outside (covered). We brought our own glasses and so tastings were only $12 (vs $15) for five tastes. If you bring your own glass they serve you the 5 tastes in little plastic cups. Kinda funky. VictorB
We had SUCH an amazing (and safe!) experience at Callaghan this past weekend. We went wine tasting with friends, expecting that all vineyards would do tastings outside in the sun. Unfortunately, many did not. Instead, unmasked people were crammed into small tasting rooms - but NOT here. We walked away from 3 different wineries due to safety reasons. We were overjoyed when we arrived at Callaghan and saw how seriously they took our safety. They met us at the start, had us choose our wines for tasting, and then we sat overlooking the gorgeous landscape. They delivered our tastings and we had a blast trying our selections. The sun was shining, a breeze was blowing, and the day (like most days in Arizona) was gorgeous. I SO VALUE that this vineyard respected us and our health so much. In fact, I bought a case of wine, will be joining the wine club, and will forever visit this family-owned winery because they put safety and security over their own financial interests. If they respect their clients (and their family) enough to take these extra steps, that is a business I want to support.
Great descriptions of wine and even better taste. Many different outdoor seating place. Views are amazing as well. Wine price is awesome with amazing aromatics and texture.
Popped into Callaghan Vineyards as we had heard great things from the locals at the fuel station close by. What a beautiful place. The staff had so much info to share. I fell in love with the Pink sparkling wine called Barrett. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

One of my favorite wineries in this area. Great tastings and prices. I always leave here with at least 3 bottles of wine. So many wines that are great plus they also have many of the Spirits (Rum, bourbon, brandy) to choose from. The atmosphere is always lively. And the seating is inside or out. The hostesses are great and know their wines. You can’t go wrong with this place! Dog friendly.
What an incredible time I had with my best friend at this fantastic winery! The views and the architecture were unbelievable; the wine was superb. Just go and thank me later!
My favorite winery to visit! Very knowledgeable and kind! Also a favorite of anyone I have taken. They have the best and biggest selection of spirits and wine tastings! (Pictures are from current and previous visits)
All time favorite winery in Elgin, Sonoita, and Wilcox. Multiple generation winery. Owners have 3 PHD's in wine making and it SHOWS. Perfectly balanced, well- favored wines. Wide selection from dry - port in red and white varieties. Also, the only place that's also a distillery with bourbon, whisky, and other hard alcohol that's ALSO incredible. Always our first stop when we take guests wine tasting in the area and is always the standard to beat and never is beaten. Bonus is their once a month wine & dine dinners for $35, 6 course meal (7 with the amouse bouche) and dry or sweet pairings with each course. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed!!
The wines and spirits were amazing!! We will definitely be back! Very fun vibe with all the Halloween decorations. The owner Gary couldn't have been more hospitable and Mimi was great and fun to talk with!
we were supposed to be horseback riding today near Benson. unfortunately it got canceled. we looked for something to do and decided to go wine tasting. we decided on Elgin based on reviews. when we arrived, we were a little suprised at the appearance. bit what we expected. we entered the gate and discovered a nice tasting/gathering area. enjoyed the friendly server. She was knowledgeable about the wines and the spirits. she had good recommendations based on our preferences. Holiday red was a hit among our group. The Monkey wines were good as well. I tasted the whiskeys. Definitely know what they are doing in distilling. we had a great time and plan on
Elgin Winery and Distillery, Elgin, AZ This is so family style outside, in the enclosed courtyard. Laid back and totally country style, I get to admit if I didn't know diamonds can definitely be found in the rough, rural areas of the country, I may have passed it by. The art is as eclectic as it's offerings of various hard liquors and wines. All of the alcohol is homegrown and local. I am going to share this is well worth the visit. The local whiskeys, rum, gin, bourbons and wine are all locally sourced from start to finish. By the way, try the P Wilson Navy Gin, made and named for a local Naval Commander. Whew! Strength, indeed! And, for those who like to support local businesses, this is the first female winemaker and owner in Arizona. Support! One last note, going back to the family-style feel, a couple drove in from Sierra Vista and brought their dog. Everyone totally loved Raven, an Alaskan Malamute, whom I adored and massaged much during our visit. This couple, like my partner from further away, drive here for the quality and flavor. I came just to sit on the leather couch- oh so comfy- relax and enjoy the chatter. Worth the time relaxing and well worth a second visit.
We used Elgin Winery for our wine selection at our wedding. Gary made us a custom label for our toasting wine. We absolutely adore it! We already love the wine and everyone who works there, but they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed for the wedding early so we wouldn't stress.

One of my absolute favorite places to be on the weekend. Nothing better than good wine, great food and Arthur greeting you at the door. The view is pretty darn good too. Tim, Brea, Chris and everyone I’ve come in contact at Rancho Rossa has been friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely gracious. My smile gets bigger the close I get to the winery door. One might even say it’s my happy place.
Absolutely recommend stopping by this winery-our favorite winery in the area! Great wine, food truck, and rescue animal focused-what else could you want?! Their estate red wines are delicious with a vast tasting menu. An added bonus was their on site food truck with handmade food and treats. We loved their potato soup with FRESH made bread as well as their Christmas cookies. Their passion for wine and food was evident and everyone was knowledgeable and friendly. We felt welcomed like old friends and are looking forward to coming back to bring our friends & family.
Great vineyard and tasting room! If you are 1) an animal lover, or 2) a deadhead, you will LOVE this place! The lady working was very knowledgeable about their wines and super friendly. Had a great flight, $6 for 6 tastings. Fun spot on the wine trail to check out, and absolutely love the fact that they put proceeds towards rescue organizations.
Great wine tasting! Tim was a great host, we arrived late on the day but he was super welcoming and informative. Good spot to spend the afternoon watching the mountains
What a wonderful place. Chris and Breanna were great hosts, and their staff was awesome. They were all very accommodating and the wine choices were delicious. We are sure going to miss the winery, but I am sure they will have a great next stage as it is clear they are very passionate. Thank you. And best of luck on your next chapter.
This review is long over due but my friends and I went to this vineyard thanksgiving weekend and it was everything we could have asked for and more! It was dog friendly, had live music, and the wine was amazing! The people there were also very friendly and it felt like a vineyard you could escape to every weekend! The fact that they are a dog rescue as well is just the icing on the cake!
We ended our full day of wine tasting here and we are beyond happy that we did. The team that owns and runs this tasting room and bakery/cafe food truck are incredible. The wine was super tasty and we had to bring home several bottles with us. Their new food truck Brea’s Bakery & Cafe is TO DIE FOR. The bread is out of this world incredible and I was luckily enough to take a loaf home with me. The love and the passion the husband and wife team have put into this tasting experience truly is the secret sauce and sets this place a part from all the others in the area. It’s so unique, comfortable, inviting, and delicious. Very impressed and will be back again soon with friends!
Rancho Rossa Vineyards is a great place to have fine wines and relax with one of the region's best views. They have a variety of excellent wines at different price points, tasty goodies to munch with wine, and friendly relaxed service with a genuine interest in their customers' comfort and enjoyment. Double the rating if you love supporting animal rescues, as there is a line of non-profit wines, named for the owners' rescues, that helps support local rescue organizations. One or two of the resident rescues is likely to be on hand to greet you if you wish. Don't miss this gem!

Stopped here yesterday after a fantastic hike around Parker Canyon Lake (highly recommend). Only had an hour before closing ~ what a beautiful and friendly vineyard🤩 All in our party LOVED their wine and LouWeee sends out a big thank you to the kind man who gave him pup biscuits💙 Will be back when we have more time!
I’d say Deep Sky has some of the best wines in Sonoita. Each wine in the tasting was excellent. We ended up buying a bottle of the Gravity red blend. Definitely recommend!
This was our first trip to Elgin and Deep Sky was our favorite vineyard. We loved the wines and the tasting room.
Nice place. Great views. Five selections of wine. Excellent goat cheese and crackers. Personable staff. Close to other wineries and town. Nice tasting. Reasonable prices. Would definitely go again. Enjoy!
This is our favorite winery in the area so far! Been back 3 times. Dan is the freakin best and will take amazing care of you and the wine is amazing. Good vibes, good people, good wine - what else do you need?
Sitting on their wrap-around patio with those stunning mountain views, the relaxed, welcoming vibe put me at ease. The indoor-outdoor bar was a great touch too, blending cozy and scenic all in one. I love a Cabernet, and the 2021 Fusion was my favorite wine tasting. If you're a wine lover or just looking for a peaceful escape, I can't recommend Deep Sky Vineyard enough. It's the kind of place that makes you want to sit back, sip, and soak it all in.
All the wines on the tasting list were great, chill atmosphere, will be back for sure!
We visited on Saturday March 28. We weren't greeted. We just received a menu and 2 glasses. We decided on the Eclipse. The blonde with long hair was more concerned with her cell phone. All she did was open our wine. Didn't even pour wine for us. Another woman with shorter brown hair spent over 30 minutes if not more with an older couple. There was a larger table across from us and no interaction I world think you would want to be staffed to explain the wines. I didn't see the large table but anything.. That's lost revenue. I would suggest that cell phones aren't allowed.Tamra at the Wine Inn recommended you. I told her I wouldn't recommend Deep Sky.out of the 5 we visited I give this a -2. And she didn't even know if we paid up front when we wanted to buy a bottle. And all the blonde did was uncork our wine and then when we paid it asked for a tip. Tips are for service. The only service was when the woman with the brown hair stopped by for a minute. I will not recommend. And if you delete my post.i will keep posting a bad review

Awesome place with great wine/spirits. The employees are always so friendly! Their vodka is top notch and is very reasonably priced. Highly recommend trying the apple pie liquor.
Our favorite place to relax and unwind with great wine and spirits! Tracy has always provided wonderful hospitality on every visit. Thank you to Tracy and the owners for making my daughter's wine tour for her bachelorette weekend special!
Great wine and spirits, but terrible service. Most businesses in the area of Elgin/Sonoita do not require masks, but the Distillery still asks patrons to abide by outdated CDC guidelines. We were met by a rude bartender who seemed to be looking for a political argument. Will not be returning, regardless of future policy updates.
I have had the opportunity to go to the Elgin Distillery many times since it opened. While I am fairly new to the spirits, wow, what I've been missing! Glad I waited until on in years to try, truly appreciate the handcrafted offerings. These liquid treats are made with locally sourced ingredients and crafted by hand. I have started to get a little cache of the offerings.... well done! Go try, meet the team, they are glad to explain the process. Also, while there, go across the courtyard and visit the Village of Elgin Winery....same goes!! handcrafted from local ingredients. The owners and crew take pride in their work and it truly shows
We had a lovely time at Elgin Distillery checking out all those local handmade spirts! The staff was kind and courteous as well as entertaining! The atmosphere is so relaxing nestled in a quiet country setting with rolling hills all around. A stroll around the grounds is highly recommended in hopes of spotting the resident peacock, Trevor!
I was at Elgin a year ago or so and it was so much fun! I went back to Elgin today and I found a big2 HUGE difference for worse. Customer service has gone down from five to one star. They send you to the backyard like a chicken while other places around the area treat you with the respect all customers deserve. YOU ARE ALLOWED I DOORS. As soon as you get to Elgin property you are told to get your drink and go outside. You feel so unwelcome. The quality of drinks have gone down as well. At this point I don’t want to go back there anymore. The lady at the tasting counter was not friendly. It was bad. A complete opposite experience as I remember it. This place is not being competitive to other places around Elgin. They don’t let people stay inside. Ugh. Ugly place 🤮 Mainly for the customer treatment.
One place to surely visit and at least do the tasting. But the best thing would be to purchase at least one bottle of their wine or whisky of your choice. Had a great time tasting the wines and the whisky. Their pride shows in their liquor and it's amazing.
This winery's sign about requiring masks is insulting, to say the least. I would not ever frequent an establishment that says the things they do. Listen to your customers, and maybe you'd get more.
