Awesome views and our guides Julio and Josh were not only safety conscious and made everyone in the group know you were safe, they were professional yet friendly and everyone even a couple of grandmothers in our group had a great time. I highly recommend this if you're within a 2-hour drive. Our guides t gave us quite a bit of information and education on the Redwoods that none of us knew about before. The adventure was not hard physically at all, and it's definitely worth the memories. We want to go back!
Sleeping 40 feet up in yurt of the coastal redwoods was a great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The zipline tour was amazing gliding through and over those giant coastal redwoods. The treehouse hosts and guides were energetic and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay and to check it out.
Amazing adventures with fun guides! They ensure every moment is filled with adventure & comedy. From ziplining to hiking to sleeping in the trees. Treehouse accommodations exceeded my expectations and the staff was so sweet and considerate. I have Celiac and they made sure the food they made for me was Gluten Free. While they did advise its in a kitchen thats not dedicated they would do their best to be careful.
Our guy Senna and Saydi (idk how to spell it) at 1045 today were really funny and it was a nice sunny day. But they want people to know that if you’re going on a rainy day you better bring rain gear. Also it’s a couple hours for the tree tops one with no bathrooms. And the longest zip line is about 40 seconds. Faster if you tuck your legs. And the photos they take at the end were like $12 I believe per first photo and $7 for each add on photo. We also got pics on our phones but kept them secure on the zip line itself. Get there early because they leave the parking lot on time. The tree tops tour was about two hours so plan on no bathrooms for two hours for that one and they do have some small water stations at a couple parts of the course. They also require closed toe shoes. Felt safe the whole time with our trusted guides, would recommend
A lot of fun zip lining, really awesome staff, great food, the tree house camping is one of the most fun experiences and highly recommend!! Hiking trails too are great, not too far but enough space to get in a good climb. Would come again!!
We had a fantastic time doing the two Zipline courses and staying at the tree house. Everything was excellent: the guides, the the courses, the lodgings and the food. They were also able to accommodate a food allergy, which we greatly appreciate.
What an amazing experience! Flying through the Redwoods was unbelievable! The sights from each platform alone were stunning. We did the highest course and I had some concerns about the hike that might be involved but the team drove us most of the way and then it was just 117 steps to the top. I'll recommend this to anyone traveling near the area!
Worth the hype!! Our guides were awesome and hilarious, shoutout to Sebastian, Abby, and Anastasia! The Zipline course is well thought out and we felt incredibly safe the entire time, even with no experience. Highly recommend!

This is so much more than a plant nursery. It's like outdoor spa where you can absorb textures, colors and fragrances you've never experienced anywhere else. As soon as you enter the space, you'll understand why people drive all the way from SF to shop here. The people who work there are so much fun, bringing deep, storied knowledge about the vast inventory. The plants are lovingly tended and affordably priced and all the money goes to an amazing non-profit. I'm truly grateful for this incredible resource!
I went to an event here a few weeks ago. The political overtones were manic and the lengths at which they went to make their hatred felt made my skin crawl. I didn't feel safe, I didn't feel comfortable. I didn't know that this was part of the show. It ruined the experience for me.
The diversity is just mind-blowing - only second the the incredibly sweet and knowledgable people who work there. Will definitely be coming back.
This place has the coolest plants from all over the world and native to our area. I've bought plants from them for years and still have a bunch of them happily growing on my property. I really appreciate the information you can get from them about everything and always very friendly helpers.
I love getting plants here! They have a great selection of hard to find medicinals, delicious perennial food crops, and unique culinary herbs. Also the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go back!!!
The selection of plants for sale is incredible. Lots of important food varieties from around the world that have fallen out of favor because they're not so suitable to monoculture commercial farming. The staff (especially Dougo) is very helpful, knowledgable and enthusiastic. Well worth the beautiful drive!
Wonderful selection of unusual plants including edible varieties and herbs, knowledgeable, friendly staff. All organic! Available varieties vary with the season. I was surprised to learn that they do not sell seed, only nursery plants, but they had such a great variety that I didn't mind. Bring an empty trunk! Finally, do mind the unusual hours. Only open seasonally Fri-Sat-Sun as of April 2018 (check their website to be sure.)
This is a DESTINATION NURSERY. It will blow your mind. They have plants you've never seen that will keep coming up year after year. (Perennials) It also makes a great day trip. You can head towards the coast on Bodega Highway, stop at Wild Flour Bread in Freestone, then up to the Nursery and down to the ocean on Coleman Valley Road. Just park in the shade! and your plants will be fine until you get back!

This small-town arts and event center is a gem, set in beautiful west Sonoma County. The array of shows and wide taste in music is remarkable. The art gallery is charming. Set on the north edge of the village of Occidental. We’re so lucky to have it. Only 35 minutes drive west of Santa Rosa.
Attended the music festival --AMAZING 🤩
Occidental Center for the Arts is one of the finest community minded art centers. It's a heaven for the local artists. It's an Arts and Entertainment Hub. It offers many World-Class events and Art Exhibitions. It holds Water Color classes, Writing Workshop, Figure Drawing Groups, Literary Events, Reader's Theatre, Family Fun Nights, plus many concerts spanning from Renaissance to Jazz, Baroque to Bluegrass. It is located at 3850 Doris Murphy Ct, Occidental, CA 95465.
Excellent medium-sized venue, perfect to listen to the lively talented blue-grass band, Three Acre Holler. Acoustics were good. The seating as surrounded by redwoods. The music was good. All in all, it made for an excellent afternoon.
I really enjoyed myself. The setting was beautiful and the vibe was perfect.
At a Halloween show and memorial for a friend: very nice place.
Everyone is kind and helpful there. A sweet and delightful place for events!
O really enjoy all my interactions at Occidental Art Center. The Tuesday morning Life Drawing class is great! The teacher and all the students are supportive and encouraging . I so love the people and process involved in entering their juried shows. All you do is get an appointment on line and take your painting into the gallery at that time. It is quite an enjoyable experience. Finally, I want to say how pleasant people at the center are. Everyone just enjoys making and sharing art!

Beautiful well cared for garden oasis with lovely meandering pathways, quiet sitting areas and some of the most beautiful plants and flowers. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the nursery sells quality plants.
We spent a little more than an hour walking the trails and crossing the bridges of this delightful garden. 3 acres of unique trees, blossoms, streams and ponds, a surprise awaits around every bend of the paths. Hummingbirds bounced atop the flowers and giant redwoods towered above everything else. A perfect oasis to spend some time exploring on your next trip to the Occidental area. We were given a beautiful bouquet to remember our visit on the way out the gate. Nice people run this true undiscovered gem. Highly recommended!
Gorgeous. A true gem. Worth stopping by and maybe the best reason to go to this town besides staying over as a base for going to the local vineyards.
This is an amazing place, a three-acre botanical garden bursting with color that's different every time you visit. It has mature specimens of rare plants and trees, such as Acer pentaphyllum (a type of Chinese maple) and Australia's Wollemi nobilus (Wollemi pine, a 250 million year old species) that are near extinct in the wild. You sign up on the website. It's only $10 a head, which includes a free bouquet.
Wow, what a spectacular garden! The new owners have really done a great job spiffing it all up. So much to see, so many relaxing settings! Wonderful!
Spectacular, quiet garden with lovely people. The incredible smell of flora greets you at the gate. Parking is a little dicey, but this place is a gem.
The joy of quiet exploration! After negotiating the front gate our kids (10,12,15) immediately disappeared into the little elven pathways and were swallowed by the great garden for about an hour. A labyrinth of brooks and pools, majestic tall trees and whimsical surprises at every turn make this a fun and relaxing break from the hurly burly of Occidental, with its ziplines and Howard Station cafes. My daughter made a bouquet from fallen blooms, and my son spied on the cat. The new owners were very welcoming and have a fantastic vision for preserving and enhancing this unique property.

This gorgeous grove of old growth Redwoods is a hidden treasure! Tucked away down a one-lane country road, it has some of the biggest trees in Sonoma County. A dirt walking path takes you on a 30-minute loop around the grove, past ferns, trees of all sizes, including an enormous Redwood nicknamed the "bat tree" because it's caverness burned out heart is home to bats at night. The silence in this grove is spiritual and ancient, and only broken by bird calls and the soft whispering of the wind high in the trees. Absolutely magical spot.
This is a nice relatively small redwood forest preserve. The paths are wide and the area is fairly level. This makes it ideal for families, people with dogs, and older folks. There is no entrance or parking fees. So, please consider a donation to Land Paths to support the upkeep of the land. Keep in mind that the road in is very narrow and that parking is limited. Please drive slowly and don't block neighbor's driveways. Also, be aware that there are no restrooms here.
Amazing hidden gem in the area. To be honest I prefer to come here than the Sequoia National parks, the trails are are wide but blended with nature, is super relax and not turistic. And the height of some of the trees are as tall as some of those national parks. Is a short loop but super beautiful, again better than those national parks that just feels like going to a Disney attraction. And once you enter the trails automatically feels like 15° cooler... Just like walking on air conditioner
Amazing. I went on a super hot day, yet it was lovely and cool in the grove. It's a slow careful drive up to the parking, well worth it. Magical ✨
Nestled among the redwoods and rolling hills of Sonoma County lies a hidden gem - the Land Paths Grove of Old Trees. Reaching this spot requires traveling on a long, bumpy, and winding road, but the reward is well worth the adventurous drive. As you step out of your car, you are greeted by some of the most magnificent giants - old growth redwoods that have stood for centuries. As we wandered the grove along its shaded trails, we were impressed by the diversity of trees and plants that call this place home. Mighty redwoods stretch up to the sky, while smaller trees, ferns and mosses blanket the floor below. It's a sanctuary far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Spend a hour or two getting lost among these amazing giants - you won't regret it!
Very beautiful place! Trails are wide and very soft. It’s a very easy simple trail to walk on. It’s very busy though and parking is very very limited. You also have to drive up a one lane road which is difficult when it’s busy.
Ditto to the last review: "A hundred steps from the parking lot it feels like you’ve escaped civilization." This place is beyond magical. The lighting in here is stunning, the paths invigorating and the trees incredible. My Dad, cousin and I loved our time wandering around looking for fairies, gnomes and elves. Also a fun walk down the road in both directions to some fun surprises including a larger than life tree/statue. Only thing is limited parking.
Its my new favorite outdoor place in Sonoma County!! Its also so well maintained that it feels wonderful! Great please for lunch too cause I saw a picnic table!

We love the Boheme wines. The Pinot Noir’s are all so delicious, all of them are subtly different yet excellent. Such a friendly wine tasting place (btw, it’s free too). We’ve been twice now where Allan is our tasting guide. He’s soooo friendly and just an absolute beautiful soul. While the tasting is free, you’ll walk out with full arms. The wine is just that good.
We stayed in Occidental and decided to go for a wine tasting at Boheme after reading all their great reviews. The owner was super nice and friendly. All the wine was great, especially the Chardonnay and the Taylor Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir. Really recommend this place if you visit Occidental or nearby area.
Love the Rose and the Chardonnay. Leslie is so nice. Such a wonderful host and ambassador to this wine region. Highly recommend !
My husband and I had a great tasting experience here. Melissa was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and made us feel right at home. The wines were delicious and it was very nice sitting outside to enjoy a glass while looking at the great views. We hope to be back again.
What can one say? Glorious single vineyard Pinot Noir. They source amazing fruit, and create brilliant wine. Stopped by the tasting room some time ago. Very gracious people. Highly recommended.
We tasted at wineries all over the Russian River Valley, and our tasting at Boheme was one of the best, and also not pretentious. Kurt, the winemaker, gave us a fantastic walk-through of the wines, and immediately gave us a welcoming feeling as we came in without an appointment (which you don't need here). The Pinots were spectacular, especially the Stuller vineyard, but really they were all good in their own right (Taylor is more elegant, English Hill lovely as well). Kurt seems to take a lot of care and time with the vineyards themselves, doing essentially organic farming so that it's good for the environment AND good for the depth of the wines themselves. All the vineyards are local to Occidental, which is another plus. And the tasting room with its natural wood tables and neighborhood feel is great. We stopped in another day to just have a glass.
Great Pinot Nior, Chardonnay, and a Syrah that were worth the visit. The wines here were better than quite a few larger places we visited in our 5 winery tour of Sanoma. Allen was an awesome host, thanks for having us!!
Delicious wine! Kurt and his team are super friendly and pour wine they’re deservedly proud of in their unassuming tasting room. Stop in and visit - it’s well worth it for world class wine made by locals.

Looking for something special, something different, unusual...visit this amazing store in Occidental. Lots of artisan hand goods, ethnic items, rayon tops and skirts, cotton tees and tights, rings, earrings, necklaces, soap, incense, cards, paintings, pottery, even cashmere teddy bears, and handmade dolls..so many beautiful items to choose from!
Today, Sept 5th around 2pm, we arrived at our favorite town where we have done much business in the past. We wanted to purchase pottery for our new home in WA. As we had done numerous times in the past, we entered Hand Goods located at 3627 Main St off Bohemian highway. This heavyset fair skinned lady w/ dark hair behind the counter was totally lacking in customer service. Even so, we were about to pay for ceramic mugs worth over $100 when she covered both her ears, and instructed us to remove the dogs from the premises as she announced that their barking was hurting her ears. I would like to mention that our dogs were reacting to other dogs barking just outside the store in the parking lot, but in no way were incessantly barking. We have never experienced this sort of treatment at Hand Goods before today and if you are an artist displaying your ware, you’re better off selling on-line than to have this person represent you with such disservice.
Thank you Becky. You made our shopping experience memorable. Thank you for your excellent customer service. Becky, you are always so kind and thoughtful. Your store has always carried such rare and beautiful treasures. Thanks again
This place is amazing. If you like locally made products, check out this place. They have pottery, art, wooden bowls, felt, and many other things as well. If you make products or are an artist consider selling here. They are amazing with a wide variety of items they sell.
