This was a fantastic day for my Mom and I on the water, celebrating her birthday! We saw so many pods of dolphins and they were doing their mating dance! So some soared in the air and there were many groups of pods out there, even mothers and calves. Many dolphins came near the boat and Captain Kelly knew where to look and was a lot of fun! My mother loved this experience and I did too. It is one I won't forget. It was much better than the Port A tour we did a year ago as the ship channel is too busy to see many dolphins. Don't miss this tour! No sharks in sight.
Absolutely loved this! Worth it 100%! We took our two boys and it was a blast for the whole family. Captain Kelly is stellar. She knows her stuff and is on it. We got to experience so many different dolphin sitings.
We had the best day out with Captain Kelley!! Great boat (small but very stable/perfect size and comfortable for small group adventures). It's not a cattle herding dolphin tour. We opted for private charter as we wanted to take our fur baby along for her first boat ride. Kelley was fast with communication and organization of the trip. She was accommodating on time, and it is always great when the captain follows the ocean and allows it to lead the tour. There were so many dolphins, which honestly I didn't expect. Babies, pods, mating... oh my! Really great experience and wonderful adventure while down in the Corpus area. We hope to be back on the water with Dolphin Connections again soon!
Had the best time with Captain Kelley. She’s amazing. So friendly and can tell how much she loves what she does. It was such a fun experience to drive out into the Bay and seek dolphins in their natural habitat. We saw many including large males and mommas with young calfs. We did unexpectedly get wet. lol. Learn from us, wear clothes and footwear anticipating moisture. It was wonderful though to feel the cool water splashing on us as we traveled to the next dolphin sighting. Captain Kelly was entertaining but focused giving lots of info about the local history and her knowledge on dolphins. She’s very personable and gave a very memorable experience. Very much recommend a trip with her.
If you dream of interacting with dolphins in the wild, you must schedule this trip. This was one of the greatest experiences of my life, and I will cherish you always!! Captain Kelly is a wonderful lady and friend with a beautiful heart. Her love for dolphins is genuine with excitement that's contagious!! She knew exactly where to go for us to see more than 50 dolphins, and more importantly, they trust her. We saw families teaching their new babies how to hunt, playful juveniles riding on waves, several dolphins enjoying the attention while showing off playing peek-a-boo as they swam under the boat and it was extraordinary. Give her a call, bring your crew and capture every moment as you breath in healing vibes. You will love every minute and this will become your favorite place to come back to for many years!!
Dolphin Connection was a highlight of my Honeymoon. I can not recommend this experience enough. My husband and I went on a private charter with our two dogs. It was awe-inspiring. Captain Kelley, is a retired English teacher and she brings that energy. She is enthusiastic and excited at all of the wonder these majestic creatures bring. She is also educational and informative telling us not only about the dolphins but also the port, the types of ships and their duties, as well as the birds and other wildlife. While you can never truly predict if you will see wildlife on an excursion, we saw so many dolphins I lost count. Some dolphins were on their own, some traveling in pods, dolphins hunting, dolphins mating, and swimming with their newborns. I have never been a "dolphin girl" I just saw that it was something we could do with the dogs so we impulsively that morning decided to. I can now say that I finally understand the magnificence of these creatures. This is a fantastic activity with anyone you know; be it kids, friends, or even your dogs! Captain Kelley was warm and inviting all she asked was that our dogs had life jackets. I have and will continue to recommend this experience to everyone I know. If you are considering this, do it! You will not regret it!
My husband and I had a great time! Captain Kelly took us where the dolphins were. We saw so many pods of dolphins. One baby dolphin came up close enough to the boat we got to see its nose and tail come out of the water. Captain Kelly shared her knowledge of dolphins and we learned a lot! It was a lot of fun and well worth the money!!
As a natural-born skeptic I confess that the ALL CAPS rave reviews and plethora of exclamation points for the Dolphin Connection experience had me raising my eyebrows a bit. After having experienced the tour for myself, though….I will be next in line to heap well-deserved thanks to Captain Kelley. She is a former teacher who “failed retirement” (my phrasing, not hers)…and boy, am I glad she did. I called on a whim and Captain Kelley was incredibly accommodating to honor my space on the charter although others had cancelled. She is personable, knowledgable, and passionate about her work. I feel privileged to have borne up-close witness to many dozens of dolphins on our tour, including a few newborns. Dolphin Connection was a valuable, fitting capstone experience for my weekend retreat from Houston. I highly recommend it.

BUCKHORN IS GREAT PLACE! I met alot of great people there. Connie, i will be always grateful to you for taking care of me. Sadly I just found about Jay Are. My condolences to his family and friends. BUCKHORN IS #1 IN MY BOOK.
If you don't like breathing, its great. Its a smokers paradise and only one of the bartenders are nice (not the "barbie" bartender one). Shes only nice if you're a regular.
Tooo Much Cigarette Smoke! I think more ppl would come if it didn't have smoking inside. We only stayed about 30 minutes, and our clothes and hair were smelling like smoke .
Best dive bar ever! Off the path of all the tourist stuff. Real good people and folks you can relate to. And the very best part????? Is the person who works the bar. Nichole is by far, the BEST EVER! Thank you for always taking good care of me. You are AWESOME!!
I have to start with they allow smoking indoors. That alone is why I rated this bar 3 stars. The bartenders here are great however and generally the other patrons here are friendly for the most part and it has two pool tables and they have karaoke on some nights if you're into that.
I gave this place 5 stars last year when visiting in the area and I give it 5 stars today. I like this lil bar and there are two bartenders that are really nice here when my husband and I stop in to play pool and have a drink. I don't always have an alcoholic beverage and they'll make sure I get a water or soda while I'm playing pool. There are two pool tables darts a punching bag machine the sand hockey like table and there's karaoke on the weekends. Nice atmosphere.
Nice little place to stop and have a beer... Lots of antiques.... I saw some really old local beer cans that were very cool. Vintage taxidermy, they had a Wolverine with snarling teeth. Several deer mounts and a Moose. Several Budweiser Clydesdale pool table lamps in good condition. The old style bar chairs reminded me of 1930 art deco. You can tell the Buckhorn Saloon has been around for sometime. It reminded me of an old dance hall on one side and bar on the other. The walls are wood finish with that deep dark color from many years of use. You should stop by and check this oldie before it's gone!
Friendly neighborhood bar. Karaoke wasn't too loud at the bar. You could hear it, but still carry on a conversation with your next stool neighbor. Ice cold beer.

My friends and I visited this restaurant a couple of months ago, and I had some of the best seafood I have ever had in my life! My friends ordered a platter of Fried Shrimp, Fried Catfish, Fried Crawfish with Onion Rings, and I ordered a Grilled Fish Sandwich and Fries. Our food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The waiter was very attentive. The views looking outside this wooden restaurant was beautiful located right next to water, boats and houses. The seafood here is so fresh and delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant!
While exploring the Aransas Pass area, we came across this great little restaurant. It's off the beaten path, apparently a place where locals gather. The view from the upstairs dining room was great (there are several flights of stairs, it's right on the water). The place has a great feel, food was reasonably priced, service was very good. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer, it was well prepared and delicious. I ordered a chicken fried steak, large in size (lots of it was coating), it was ok, but wouldn't order it again. Plenty of other choices, including catch of the day, which was Flounder, would've been a better choice. The gumbo was also a good choice.
Just stopped in for a drink but ended up having some sweet potato fries with our drinks. The fries were good. We went to the top where there are stairs. So anyone with problems climbing stairs may want to reconsider.
Food was good although they are using a breading for fried fish and shrimp that has some herb in it I couldn't identify. Also last year they stopped including Pinto beans with the Cole slaw and hand cut French fries, which is a shame. I ordered the fish and shrimp basket which was good. Not as many fries in the past. I also ordered a soft shelled crab which cost almost $10 and was not much larger than the palm of my hand. It was good but very small. Fish, shrimp and Cole slaw portions were good. They were slammed with business but they found us a table for six and the server was great. Granddaughter ordered a shrimp po boy which had a ton of shrimp plus tomatoes and lettuce. This is one of my grandchildren favorite places and we enjoyed our meal. We got there about 7:30 and left at 9lm because the kitchen was so busy. Show up earlier than we did! The views from the open air seating were nice.
While visiting the Texas Bay area,I recently dined at Mickey's Bar and Grill in Aransas Pass, TX. It was an absolute delight. The food was expertly seasoned offering a burst of flavors with every bite. We ordered the chicken fried steak, flounder with fries and 2 fish ' n' shrimp platters. The staff were incredibly friendly, adding to the overall warm and inviting atmosphere. The beautiful views of the bay provided a picturesque backdrop, making it a must-visit bar and grill for both locals and visitors alike. This restaurant is located next to a boat dock. The bar and seating area on the 2nd floor offers a better view and experience.
I bring my HOG Chapter members down here for seafood at least once a year. Never disappointed! All are happy with the food and service. We make it a regular ride whenever we want to get out of SA. Wide variety of menu selections at fair prices. Not everything is fried, and there are good non-seafood selections as well.
A fabulous sawdust on the floor seafood spot right on the water. The calamari was the best I’ve ever had, never frozen. The fish taco was outstanding, the seafood gumbo was super and they served it with some Texas toast by request. Excellent service. I also appreciated the roll of paper towels on each table!
The food was great. Really large portions and very flavorful. Only complaint was the table was sticky. Other than that it was great!
