Texas State Aquarium

Nature & Parks
The Texas State Aquarium is a top-notch destination for exploring the diverse marine life of the region. With 18 exhibits showcasing a wide array of sea creatures, visitors can marvel at everything from enormous fish tanks housing global species to recreated habitats like Swamp Tales and Tortuga Cay. The aquarium also offers live shows featuring well-trained dolphins demonstrating impressive tricks and stunts, as well as entertaining bird performances.
A must visit!!! Our whole family loved this. It was a great way to entertain everyone and stay cool during the day. They had plenty of food and drink options, so much to see, and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The cost is completely worth the visit. Our favorite part was definitely the dolphins! They were lively and seemed happy. All the animals were well kept and they had so many eels to see (my personal favorite).
Kelsie P — Google review
This was such an amazing visit! It is a bit on the pricy side (+$7 parking) but it’s worth it since the money goes to help the rescue and animals! I went during a weekday so it wasn’t packed at all. I was only planning on staying for an hour or two and ended up staying until close. I was able to catch the dolphin show at 3pm, which was magnificent!! The water is beautiful from there. They have swings where you can relax and watch the water or the USS Lexington, which is right next door! The aquarium itself has so many cool fish and staff who truly love their job! They are attentive and informative! I loved my visit here and would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting!
Neil D — Google review
Beautiful way to spend a very hot day. I'm a total aquarium nerd, and this was a treat! Lots of good info on the various species. Animals are healthy and happy. The dolphin show was so cute, you can tell they are having a blast!
Kym H — Google review
Absolutely loved the dolphins show! Also, the otters are so fun to watch. Very interesting and informative. My grandchildren enjoyed everything. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the price. I understand the animals have needs and I love that they rehabilitate a lot of them. But, it was $300 for 3 adults and 2 children. We stayed 2 hours but we missed an entire side, so I recommend getting there no later than 2.

My experience at the Texas State Aquarium with my family was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly staff, breathtaking exhibits, and an atmosphere full of excitement and wonder. The interactive displays kept our kids engaged the entire time, and the variety of marine life — from dolphins and sea turtles to sharks and stingrays — was incredible to see up close. The entire facility was clean, well-organized, and perfect for a full day of fun and learning. It was a memorable family outing that we’ll be talking about for a long time. Highly recommend it for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking to experience the beauty of the ocean without leaving Texas!
Ivory W — Google review
The aquarium has beautiful tanks filled with happy critters. The birds are beautiful and the layout of well thought out. The staff genuinely seem to love what they do. Like most large aquariums it’s not an inexpensive day, but certainly worth the time and effort to see.
Genie H — Google review
We had an absolutely amazing time at the aquarium, which proved to be a fantastic way to spend our day. The aquarium provided a vast amount of information on various species and offered numerous attractions. The dolphin show was truly spectacular, and the facility offered a range of food and drink options, as well as clean, well-designed bathrooms, making it perfect for families.
Bianca M — Google review
🌟🌟🌟🌟 Four Stars – A Great Family Adventure with Room to Grow! We had a fantastic time at the Texas State Aquarium! The exhibits were engaging, especially the dolphin show and the Caribbean Journey section – the sharks, rays, and sea turtles were crowd favorites. The aquarium does a great job of combining education with entertainment, making it a hit for both kids and adults. The facility was clean and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. My kids especially enjoyed the interactive touch pools and the splash pad area – great ways to cool off and burn some energy. The reason for four stars instead of five? Ticket prices are quite steep, especially for a relatively small aquarium when compared to similar facilities across the U.S. and internationally. For larger families, the cost adds up quickly. A few areas also felt a bit dated, and while the food options were okay, more variety would be a welcome improvement. Still, this is a gem in Corpus Christi and absolutely worth a visit if you’re in the area. With a few updates and more accessible pricing, this could easily be a five-star destination. We’ll definitely be back!

USS Lexington

Military Bases & Facilities
The USS Lexington, also known as The Blue Ghost, is a renowned WWII aircraft carrier and naval museum located in Corpus Christi. Commissioned in 1943, it played a significant role in the Pacific War during World War II. In 1992, it was transformed into a naval aviation museum to educate the public about its historical significance and its contributions to national defense.
This was a great experience with so much to see! We went in during the month of July. While some parts are air conditioned, other areas can be pretty warm, so dress accordingly. Admission was very fair considering the amount of time that was spent here and the variety of exhibits. They do have a decent concession area, as well as a few vending machines with drinks spread across the main deck. The photo ops were super fun for the kids, and there are many resting points throughout the tours, too! Definitely worth checking out if you need something to do in Corpus Christi!
Tiffany B — Google review
Visiting the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi was an unforgettable experience. The ship is massive and full of history, with well-preserved exhibits and interactive sections. One of the highlights was meeting Richard in the engine room he took the time to explain how the carrier operated and shared fascinating personal anecdotes. Talking with him truly brought the ship to life and made the visit even more special. If you're in the area, don’t miss this piece of naval history and the chance to meet passionate people like Richard.
Arthur J — Google review
Definitely a must to go see, but plan most of the day if you want to see it all, it's a big ship. They have bathrooms, cafeteria, a movie theater and a gift shop of course. Best if you don't go during the heat of the summer, not many cool spots. But if you don't mind sweating go ahead, they do have a little cooler spots here and there. Fun for the whole family and a big part of history.
Darren L — Google review
My kids enjoyed the tour ages 16 and 11. The tour took about 2 hrs. It’s self guided. In a world where kids are glued to their phones and social media it captured their attention. I do not recommend this tour for toddlers, heels, dressy clothing or people with walking restrictions. Their is a lot of climbing (ladder style stairs). Dont forget to take your free picture, it cost $35 for the print out but the digital versions using the QR code are free. Parking was $5 directly across the street. It’s so much to do in the area so bring beach stuff, strollers etc to enjoy the day in the surrounding area.
Ask A — Google review
Came here spur of the moment. And really enjoyed it. This one lasted us half a day and we didn't finish looking at everything. There is so much to do and see. The crew is friendly the place is neat. There are some areas where you can spot hints of the past. The renovated and up kept areas of the ship suddenly contrasted by the subtle reminders that yes, this ship did see war, fought in battles, and has aged. Love it. Highly recommend this spot for a visit if your a military buff.
Lord M — Google review
Very interesting self-guided tour. Can catch a free cart ride up the gangway. The steps are steep and narrow to the different levels so wear good shoes if going.
Marci B — Google review
Went here a few weeks ago. Kid friendly. This place was absolutely amazing. They have 5 different tours to choose from and they explain everything about the ship, to the crew, the historical aspects, military honor, they even have a section on here about Pearl Harbor. Be prepared to learn about the history. If you want to get your steps in for the day, this is the place. Spent 5 hours here and walked over 10K steps. Highly recommend this for a day trip.
Scott S — Google review
Great experience! There is a lot to learn not only about this ship, but a few others as well as about the crews that lived aboard. Note that while walking through the below decks, there are a few rooms that are very cold, which I would think would be a good break in between on the hotter days. It does take a good amount of time to walk and to listen/read everything.

Modern art museum
The Art Museum of South Texas (AMST) is a vital part of the Corpus Christi arts community, located along North Shoreline Boulevard with stunning views of Corpus Christi Bay. The museum houses over 1,900 permanent works including regional fine art, photography, and crafts. Visitors can explore diverse art forms such as paintings, photographs, sculptures, glasswork, ceramics, and large installations that showcase the rich artistic heritage of the Americas and Texas region.
We loved it. It was our first time to visit despite living here all our lives. The art was beautiful and the atmosphere was calming. We will definitely go again. There were even a few pieces by Picasso.
Leslie R — Google review
While we were visiting Corpus Christi, we came across the art museum, it was a building showcasing some local talent, and art pieces from abroad. We had a great time learning about the history of the city. The art pieces were unique and did represent the south Texas and it culture. So if your looking for something to do then this is your place to sight see for easily over an hour.
Abraham M — Google review
This gorgeous space was designed by architect Philip Johnson and is a lovely environment to experience art. The building really harmonizes with its location on the waters edge of Corpus Christi Bay. Although the museum seems to be dedicated primarily to contemporary art, there is a small but very high quality permanent collection of Spanish Colonial art.
Susanna G — Google review
Great deal! $10 for a good chunk of art, SUPER reasonably priced stuff in the gift shop. I was surprised and grateful that the souvenirs were affordable. The staff was really friendly. The place was wheelchair accessible, except the 3rd floor which had loose carpet that made it a little harder to wheel around and a narrow walkway around the conference tables. The wheelchairs they provide for patrons were also unusually narrow so I'd recommend bringing your own or calling ahead to see if they've remedied that if you are large and need to borrow a chair.
Claudia — Google review
The Art Museum of South Texas, in Corpus Christi had their Third Thursday event and we decided to go. A smallish museum it is full of beautiful works of art. Was an enjoyable event.

Small but beautifully curated museum – great lighting, thoughtful layout, and stunning ocean Definitely worth spending 1–2 hours to enjoy the art and the vibe.

History Museums
Nestled in the vibrant S.E.A. District of Corpus Christi, the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History is a treasure trove for those eager to delve into the region's rich tapestry of history, culture, and science. Spanning nearly 100,000 square feet, this expansive museum offers an array of permanent and special exhibits that cater to all ages.
Great museum! There's lots to see as an adult, including minerals, shells, birds, and a historic ship wreck. There is plenty to keep the young entertained and provide exposure to science. A large climbing tower seems to be the favorite. Outside, there are several pieces of playground equipment as well as percussion musical stations. We went in November 2024, and there was no fee to enter. I was told it would be like that for all of November and December. The parking lot is just a short walk away from the entrance to the ship channel. Great place to see the Lexington from a distance and see incoming ships.

Cool off on a Hot afternoon learning about local history! HEB play area with slide and interactive areas. Western sidewalk and Buc Days Dresses! Mineral & Shipping History. Kids loved it!

We loved the interactive features for the kids, the little planetarium and each exhibition. There's something for everyone to enjoy. We will go again whenever we can.

We had our HEB family fun day here!! Was amazing. My grand babies loved it! 😀
Mia Y — Google review
My almost 3 year old and I had a blast. There was plenty to see and we were there for about an hour and half.
Gina C — Google review
Second time visiting this place. Hasn't changed since the last time but my daughter was younger back then. She wanted to visit and see it again now that she's older. As before, she enjoyed the exhibits and interacting with the hands on exhibits as well. Highly recommend for families with children.
Rudy T — Google review
Very cool place, lots of things to look at but staff is very rude. Was rude and seemed like no one wanted us to be there. Was told 3 times when they close and followed us around at times checking on us to see when we were leaving. More than 30 min left telling us they close. If you dont want people here up until 5pm, chamge your hours to accommodate that or stop letting people in. We came at like 3:30 and felt rushed almost the entire time
Brandon W — Google review
This a very well laid out, comprehensive, and interesting museum. The primary areas are: Spanish & French exploration, rocks & gems, fossils, Kenedy ranch family history & possessions, and local history. There were many relics from old Spanish sailing vessels . We read most everything, and were there about four hours. Gave a different perspective on European exploration and all the treasure that were brought back to Europe.

The South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center is a vast educational facility showcasing a diverse range of plant and animal life. Visitors can participate in classes and guided tours to learn more about the local flora and fauna. In addition to this attraction, the area offers other points of interest such as the Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens, Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge, Redfish Bay for fishing enthusiasts, and the nearby Pharaoh's golf course.
This place is so beautiful and relaxing… the volunteers working there are so dedicated to care for the animals and garden. We met Jorge…a master orchid gardener. What a pleasure to listen to him about the history and care of this exotic species! They have the most amazing orchids plants we have ever seen.🥰 Many are for sale too! If you come to Corpus Christi you have to come here 💯 recommend it.
Miriam O — Google review
We enjoyed our visit. The orchids and butterfly house are beautiful. There is a small reptiles/animal area, the staff is very friendly and you can hold one of the snakes if you want. There is a small loop trail that we enjoyed and a longer trail which we did not have time for. The location is not huge, but it is definitely worth the visit. Our only disappointment was there is a miltary discount ticket price listed but when we asked for it as a retired Army family we were informed it is only for active duty military. However, even at full price $10 is worth it.
Leslie H — Google review
This is an expansive botanical and wildlife center with mainly reptiles. There are walking paths to the wetlands on boardwalks with an elevated birding platform and a butterfly pavilion. The paths have a considerable amount of shade to make walking pleasant even in the heat of summer. Plenty of parking in front of the center. It’s also a part of the American Horticultural Society reciprocal admissions program if you are visiting.
L L — Google review
Very cool place. One of the most beautiful in all of Corpus Christi. would highly recommend. they have some funny parrots and some large tortoise as well.
Jacob G — Google review
This was my first time going here. I was pleasantly surprised. For the harsh south Texas weather this place has all kinds of beautiful flowers with plentiful walking trails where you can experience the natural terrain and the indigenous wildlife that are abundant in this area. Very well kept and maintained. Lots of shaded places where you can sit a while and take a break from the hot Texas sun. Plus I got plenty of ideas how I can create my own little oasis at my own personal property. It's a must see.
Marco C — Google review
Love them. They have literally miles of hiking trails (though I do recommend shoes better than flip flops like we wore, lol) and it's not just pretty flowers, which they have in abundance and I could spend time just on that, but they are also a true nature preserve for both flora and fauna. Truly something to experience for yourself
Gary W — Google review
Beautiful garden, wonderful animal exhibits and a great early morning summer activity. While it was 90+ degrees we had lots of shady spots to stop and rest. Very kind and caring staff, and low cost for families.
Tyler S — Google review
I loved seeing all the different gardens. The birds and reptiles were fun, too. The tortoises were large. My favorite was the orchid house.

The Selena Museum, located in Corpus Christi, is a touching tribute to the iconic Tejano music sensation, Selena Quintanilla-Perez. This intimate memorial showcases an extensive collection of her awards, stage costumes, personal belongings, and photographs that trace her remarkable career. The museum is situated at Selena's former recording studio and offers fans a poignant look into the life of the beloved Queen of Tejano Music.
My wife and I had an amazing experience here. We love Selena so much and finally had the opportunity to go to her museum. This place is incredible first we met her dad and mom and they took us into her Recording studio we had the opportunity to be in there for a bit and then we had the chance to walk though the whole museum I know it brought my wife back when she was a little girl watching Selena and hearing her music back then. This place is incredible I love her legacy still lives
Kendall B — Google review
If you’re a Selena fan, the Selena Museum in Corpus Christi is an absolute must! Even if you just love music history, it’s worth every penny and the entrance fee is only $5 per person for an experience you won’t forget. Walking into Q-Productions, where Selena recorded so many of her hits, gives you instant chills. I even got to stand in the exact spot where she once sang, and also where JLo stood and wow, I felt like a part of her story. The highlight of my visit? Meeting her nephew! That made everything feel so personal and real. Everywhere you look, there’s something amazing: her sparkling stage outfits (yes, the purple jumpsuit!), Grammy awards, red Porsche, gold and platinum records, Fabergé egg collection, MAC make-up endorsement and walls covered with fan art and rare photos. Seeing all her achievements and knowing she passed away so young really tugs at your heart. You can feel how the whole world mourned her via letters and messages from fans everywhere show just how deeply loved she was. The museum is small, but that’s what makes it feel intimate and authentic. Walking through feels like stepping into the Quintanilla family’s memories. You leave inspired, emotional, and humming “bidi bidi bom bom,” celebrating the life and legacy of the Queen of Tejano Music. 💜✨
D. T — Google review
My mom and I have been planning this trip to see the Selena Museum since I was 10 years old, and now in 2025 we finally made it! Selena Quintanilla Perez has always been a childhood icon of mine. She passed away when I was 4 years old, and at the time I did not understand what happened, but I saw millions of People in my hometown of San Francisco lighting a vigil for her, and carrying her photo. As I got older I understood more about her life and how much her music inspired me and my love for singing and performing. Coming to the Selena museum was an amazing journey and one that will always hold a special place in my heart. I also got to meet her father A.B Quintanilla in the office studio of the museum. The museum itself was remarkable and exhibited all of Selena’s life through photos, clothing, memorabilia and her famous 1980s Porsche car! This place is truly an amazing experience and one everyone who is a fan must visit. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of fans forever and will continue to do so. She may be gone, but never forgotten!
Marychase T — Google review
Great experience. Tour was good information and museum is a time capsule. It transports you to 1995 for sure. So much memorabilia. Took a ton of pictures. Just missed seeing Suzette and Mr and Mrs Q. Glad they are keeping her memory alive for future generations. Such a loss for us all. She would have gone on to soo much more.
Michael B — Google review
Visiting the Selena Museum was more than just learning about her life—it was about feeling her presence. She was a light who came for a short time, but her inspiration lingers. I was a Jehovah’s Witness when she passed, so I felt a connection to her and her family through our shared faith. Now, with a more spiritual perspective, I understand her impact in a deeper way. Selena left behind more than music or memories. She left behind a feeling—a kind of inner strength, joy, and purity—that we can still connect to within ourselves. The museum is simple and respectful, filled with love. I’m grateful I visited. It reminded me that even brief lives can leave something eternal.
Christina S — Google review
Awesome experience! My wife introduced me to Selena, and her music & background. We watched the series about her together before making a trip to visit here. It was amazing to see the studio where she had actually stood and recorded for a short time. It was humbling to see the 100’s of awards throughout the showroom area, showcasing her extreme talent.
Isaac W — Google review
This was a super wonderful experience! I had to hold my emotions because Selena once stepped in here. Out of 9 songs she recorded at this location, “Dreaming of You” was the only one that came out. And meeting Abraham was epic!

Mustang Island State Park spans 3,954 acres and is a picturesque section of Gulf Coast land just a short drive from Corpus Christi. The park features gleaming white sand, light blue waters, and lush green dunes. Visitors can enjoy activities such as swimming, hiking, biking, picnicking, and camping in the 18-mile barrier island.
This is a great place to sit on the beach and enjoy the waves! You can drive your vehicle on the beach, so no having to carry all your beach gear a long ways. We have been here multiple times & we always love it. Don’t touch the pretty blue jellyfish that have washed up on shore! There are portable potty restrooms nearby (at the parking area for those who don't want to drive on the beach). There are also nice regular restrooms and outdoor showers to rinse off sand near the camping area, and restrooms at the park store.

Mustang Island State Park is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. We stayed at Site #3, which was easy to access and offered a great view — perfect for relaxing or enjoying a walk along the shore. The beach was clean, the water was clear, and the park was well maintained throughout. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was calm and family-friendly. A wonderful spot for a beach getaway.

Mustang Island State Park is a beautiful spot to enjoy the Texas coast! The beach access is excellent — it’s easy to get to the sand and the beaches themselves are wide, clean, and absolutely gorgeous. It’s a great place to relax, take a walk, or just enjoy the ocean breeze. The RV park, while convenient, is more of a parking lot setup than a traditional campground, so don’t expect much privacy or scenery there. However, the location makes up for it — it’s close to Corpus Christi, with plenty of restaurants and shopping just a short drive away. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to visit for the beaches and convenience, especially if you’re looking to explore the area.
Vikki W — Google review
Mustang Island State Park was incredible. Wow incredible views you can drive right on the beach and stay overnight in their primitive camping. Rebecca was an incredible host!! I ran into her in the parking lot scoping out the bathroom situation, and she pretty much gave me a tour; explained the payment system and showers, where to drive and park on the beach that was safest, and how to check the tides! She was so welcoming! I will be back for sure and look forward to enjoying this park again!!!!
Kathryn B — Google review
We had a good time at the park. Rangers were super nice. But it is just a large parking lot. There is some grass. Watch out. for what site you get into?Because a lot of them are backwards for electricity and water. But overall, the beach was nice. And we had a good time.
Jewels ( — Google review
The park is well maintained and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Security patrols regularly on the beach. Portable toilets on the beach are also well maintained. Showers have warm water. Sometimes due to higher than normal tides, they have to close the beach to primitive camping. It's best to call ahead if you want a primitive campsite to make sure the beach is not closed.
Mark L — Google review
A beautiful and peaceful beach that's clean and soft sand as far as the eye can see. The water is shallow enough you can walk way out into the bay and the crabs all over the beach are so cute!
Curtis M — Google review
Spent a day at this state park for the beach. Drove thru the camping area to check out for future camping. We tent camp and was happy to see it was grassed. It's a short walk to the beach on a very nice trail thru the dunes. There were around 6 covered picnic tables available on a first come basis and 1 large covered area that has to be reserved. The beach was amazing! The water was warm and clear with gental waves. The kids enjoyed body surfing, swimming, and hunting for hermit crabs. We saw hermit crabs , plenty of beach crabs, flocks of pelicans, small fish swimming in shallows, flying fish, diving white birds, annoying black birds, and seagulls. This beach was not crowded at all.

Located in Port Avenue on Corpus Christis, Hurricane Alley Waterpark is packed with family-friendly activities such as a wave pool, lazy river, slides and thrill rides during peak season. The park has won awards and earned a status as one of Corpus Christis greatest family-friendly attractions.
Our family has been coming here for almost 10 years! The place has been well kept up and hasn't really aged at all. Everything was in working order except the wave pool which they were working on at the time. The lockers are easy to use with a smart phone and no keys to hold onto as the are all electronic. The bathroom was fairly clean and the paint was in decent shape. They didn't smell bad. I always review the restrooms as that is a good litmus test as to the establishments commitment to cleanliness and service. There were 7 of us and it only cost 92.00. Maybe because we showed up at 11:05 and if you get there early it is cheaper? Anyway, I was happy to not pay the $25/ticket. We stayed the whole day and my boys stayed on the wave surfer for hours! The teenagers managing the surf were a little inattentive but nice and respectful. Although the line did move a little slower as they took turns after every surfer to get a run in themselves. The food was delicious for a water park and reasonably priced even though there was not much selection. The corn dogs were huge and tasted good. Get there early to "claim" a table with an umbrella as there are no chairs in the shade, save the bungalow rentals, and those are expensive.

It's a small water park near the baseball field. You have to pay to park in the lot. There are no outside food or drinks allowed. I made sure to bring water shoes to protect my feet from the heat. There is only 5 slides, but the lady river makes the park enjoyable. I would like a slightly larger adult area but still had a good time. Will come back.

This waterpark is Amazing 👏🏼. This is our 3rd time going with my family. It is a 3 hour drive from where we live. We enjoy it to the max. The lazy river is our favorite. We can be there all day. Just relaxing! Can't wait to go again next year God willing.

I normally don’t leave bad reviews because I also run a business, but here’s my honest experience. We drove 2.5 hours to visit, bringing our 8-month-old’s float so he could enjoy the water. When we arrived, we were told we couldn’t use it. I understand safety rules, so that wasn’t a huge deal. The park itself is on the smaller side, which was fine—we still made the most of it and had some fun. The real disappointment was the food. We spent over $40 on lunch, and the quality was extremely poor—especially the pizza, I rather have Little Caesars. To top it off, my wife asked for a straw so our baby could drink some Gatorade from a straw, and they refused. I even went up to ask myself, and still got a “no.” That’s just unnecessary. If you’re not going to give them out, at least have them available with the utensils for people to grab if needed. Overall, we won’t be coming back and I can’t recommend it. If you do decide to visit, I’d strongly suggest bringing your own food and drinks.

We were visiting Corpus with our 7 year old grandson. The reviews we read were mixed. We decided that the price could not be beat, so took a chance. And boy, were we glad we did! We all had a blast. The facility was clean, staff were friendly and helpful, and prices for food, lockers, etc were not bad. There were lines for some of the rides, but nothing that was too much of a wait. We ended up staying longer than we initially thought we would because we were all having fun - even the 65+ year old members of our party.
Jody B — Google review
This was a good choice to enjoy for the weekend. We stopped in July 4th a Friday, and it was only $20 a person, and weekends are $25. Plenty of lounge chairs available to rent. The water was clean. We spent most of the time in the kids' cove, but my 12 year old had fun in the giant slides. There are options to have a small group part and tables available if you're having food with the family.
Erin R — Google review
This is a pretty small waterpark, but the price is appropriate for the amount of activities that are included. They only really have about four decent slides and a decent lazy river. Things seem to be clean and in good working order for the most part. We had a good time generally speaking.
Joseph N — Google review
The manager literally chased me and my three kids down in 95-degree heat because we brought our own water bottles. What kind of “family establishment” denies children basic hydration during extreme weather? Completely hostile, unwelcoming, and the opposite of family-friendly.

Whataburger Field is the home of the Corpus Christi Hooks, a double-A baseball team, and offers stunning views of the Harbor Bridge. It's conveniently located near various attractions such as the Aquarium, Area Beaches, and American Bank Plaza. The field is also close to Hurricane Alley, which features a surf simulator, wave pool, slides and rides, a restaurant and bar. Additionally, it hosts Dive In Movies during summer nights.
Even though it was a warm evening, the breeze made it pleasant to watch a ball game. Reasonable prices in a well constructed stadium. We went on a night with food promotions which were very budget friendly. Fun promotions. It was a great night.

My granddaughter and I met some friends at the beautiful Whataburger Field for Kingsville Day and had the Best time! We had great seats for a great price and we were very entertained with the ballgame and all the activities and food. We look forward to attending another game very soon!

Great experience, we had great seats right by the dugout. Going to different baseball games and fields's is something I've always enjoyed ever since I was little.

Hey Batter batter..... SsWwingG!! Up from SPI 2hr drive, completely different Texas. This ball field is fantastic. Clean, well organized, plenty of food and drink options at a very reasonable price! Every single employee and volunteer was extremely polite and professional. The facilities are well-maintained and easy to navigate. The field is ADA-compliant as well. Will come back for sure. My only complaint is, I didn't hear one Bell from ACDC Hells Bells. Really??? Plotted. Scouts Out..

Great time, really nice 👍. Caught a game found great seating behind home plate on Saturday night.. Best game in town.. Thanks, Hooks.

Great minor league ballpark! Seats are pretty inexpensive. Plenty of food options especially Whataburger inside the park! No combos just a la carte. I ordered a burger & fries & bought a souvenir cup for free refills. Entertainment between innings was fun. Sitting left field has sun behind you & right field facing sun.

If you have nit been to Whataburger field, you are missing out. As a child I didn't have the experience of going to a game. But you best believe I'm doing it for my kids. This place helps to make memories with your family and friends. Check it out.

Doc's Seafood and Steaks

Seafood restaurant
Doc's Seafood and Steaks is a vibrant waterfront restaurant in Corpus Christi, offering a lively atmosphere with live music and picturesque views of the water. The menu features fresh Gulf seafood, hand-cut Angus beef steaks, and tropical mixed drinks. Whether you're dining indoors or outdoors, you'll enjoy the scenic location right under the JFK Bridge from Corpus Christi to Padre Island. With nightly live music during peak seasons and weekend performances in between, Doc's provides an authentic coastal dining experience.
This was our favorite place by far on our visit to the area. Yes, the food was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was great!! But the service was beyond 5 stars. Our server, Lauren P. made our experience here exemplary! She was so attentive, friendly, and informative to all our questions. Made our visit more memorable and fun. We chose to go with the two different fish options that were caught that day. The cooks here clearly know what they're doing, as our food was delicious. They had a live singer performing near the front door in the bar area. Below the restaurant if you have a long wait (which is worth it!) Is another bar area you can enjoy and pass the time. If we ever get to come back to visit the area, this restaurant will be on top of our list.
Chadwick D — Google review
Our visit to Doc’s Seafood and Steaks was a decent overall experience, but it had a mix of positives and drawbacks. We waited about an hour and 15 minutes to be seated, which was expected for the busy evening, but worth noting if you’re visiting during peak times. The menu is heavily seafood-focused, with many dishes prepared blackened or jerk-style, so there’s a fair amount of spice. If you’re not into seafood or bold flavors, your options are somewhat limited. The setting is one of the highlights — you can sit near the edge and enjoy a nice view of the water, which adds to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the chairs were hard and lacked any lumbar support, making them uncomfortable for a long meal. Our server was friendly and attentive, which helped balance out some of the food concerns. The burgers we tried were very charred and didn’t have much seasoning; the sauces provided most of the flavor, so without them, they would have been pretty bland. The lower-level area offers games like cornhole and the ring-and-hook game, along with some live music, which creates a casual, fun vibe. However, it also had an unpleasant smell of spilled beer and even urine, which was off-putting and made us question the cleanliness in that area. In short, seafood lovers who enjoy a lively, waterfront atmosphere will probably appreciate this place more than we did. For non-seafood eaters, the limited menu and mixed food quality may not make it worth the wait.

This was my first trip to Texas and Corpus Christi, and I decided to take a solo trip. This place came highly recommended, and I can see why. Gabby was such a sweet waitress and very accommodating, even while handling a busy crowd. She truly deserves recognition and a raise. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous and made the whole experience worth it. The only negative observation I had was with the owner/manager (tall, slim white man). He was walking around asking tables how they liked their food and if they needed anything, but he walked right past me and only spoke to the tables in front of and behind me. It may have been unintentional, but it did feel strange and made me feel a little out of place for a moment. Overall, my visit was great, and I would probably return.
Neil D — Google review
First we were placed at the perfect table with the best view of the water while still being shaded. Enjoyed the variety of the drink menu. Ordered the Cucumber Watermelon Lemonade and the Jalapeño Dosarita, Starters were great - Raw Oysters & Watermelon Tuna. However when it came to the entrees, the Docs Yardbird sounded great in theory but was a bit too heavy handed on the blackening seasoning (still enjoyable) and would try it again, but it was not as awesome as the Lemon Caper Tuna (fantastic in flavor and cook - rare to med rare) and the green beans were cooked well with a lemon pepper seasoning. We will be back for sure! 😍

Everything about Doc's is great! The views, the food, the service...there's nothing you won't like about this place. You can sit and watch boats travel the Intracoastal waterway while you sip on a great drink from the bar and enjoy some amazing food! Prepare yourself though, this place can get really busy in the evenings, but if you stop in for lunch, you'll have a better chance at getting a table quickly. This is one of my favorite places to visit in Corpus Christi.

Totally surprised how good the food was… I was expecting it to be very meh and it was very good. Horseradish sauce was on point. To add a little more information for future patrons, we ended up ordering 2.5 lbs of peeled shrimp, because they were exceptional. Everything else was equally amazing, as my photos show.

Long wait but expected if you show up to doc's in late afternoon with 4 or more. Service was friendly and helpful atmosphere was very bright and open and had a great view. Food was good a little over cooked but to to the point where I was disappointed overall a good experience.

Had the Parmesan Crusted Red Fish. It was one of the Tuesday night specials. It was really good. The creamy shrimp sauce on top was called Laguna Sauce and it was delicious!! Beers were a little warm but otherwise a great place for dinner that's right on the water.

The food here is fantastic. First time here and I gotta admit even sitting outside they have fans so that way it is tolerable and the atmosphere here looking at the water while you eat is the best. Our waiter is attentive. Everybody should come here at least once and enjoy eating on the water.

This is a great spot and the service is great. We had some delicious drinks and the blackened chicken sandwich was delicious. The menu is mostly seafood but they have burgers and salads also. The vibe is amazing and the reason we eat here. You are right on the water. 🤩

The atmosphere here was spot on. Part of the marina. I really enjoyed the fried shrimp and my server was amazing. The only downside was my taquitos. They had great flavor but were cold in the middle. Like refrigerator cold. The server offered to replace them but I had eaten about half of them despite the temperature issue because the flavor was amazing so I didn’t feel right about getting a new order. Just enough to keep from a 5 star rating, but everything else was great!

This was a pretty cool place. We actually ate on the water and you could feel it move the whole time. I had the server suprise me with a fish and it was really good, the unicorn fish. Slightly over cooked, but the sauce was awesome. Everyone was pretty happy with their food. Looking forward to going back and getting surprised again on a new meal!

Good food & cool atmosphere. The fans and breezes made the patio tolerable even in the midday sun and I'm a "big guy".coconut shrimp were crispy but the shrimp were still cooked perfect. She had the fish and chips. The only thing that would have made this place better would be live music.
Hans H — Google review
We arrived at Harrison's Landing and were immediately seated on the patio. They do allow dogs, and the patio is covered, which made it a comfortable spot. We ordered drinks while we waited for dinner later that evening. They had a few drink specials, and we went with the Prickly Pear Margarita. It was solid. They also brought out ice water for our dogs, which was a nice touch. The only downside was the bathroom situation. The restrooms are located inside the gift shop, and there are only two available. Since it was a Saturday and just after 1 p.m., the shop was pretty busy and there was a bit of a wait to use the bathroom. Not ideal, but nothing major. We had a great seat by the water with a nice view. The overall atmosphere was relaxed, and the drinks were good. We appreciated being able to have our dogs with us. We didn’t eat this time, but we plan to come back and try the food on another visit.

We're visiting Corpus Christi and found out about this lil gem. The service and food is great and it's fun to sit outside on the water. The only thing I did not care for were the birds that were flying around trying to grab food, they weren't dive-bombing anyone though. The platters are plentiful, my sister and I shared the fish and chips. It tasted great. The oil used to fry the fish was clean and the flounder tasted fresh. We each got the El Jimador Margarita since it was the drink dé jour. Our server was Sabrina B. She was friendly, attentive and efficient. Thank you Sabrina. There's a gift shop next door and patrons get 20% off, just show your receipt. We will return to this establishment.

Perfect place on the water to have lunch! Parking was nearby restaurant is not that big but does have a floating dock where you can sit and eat while it’s moving on top of water . There was a nice breeze , wait staff was friendly . We ordered the shrimp cocktail, which was delicious. We also ordered the shrimp tacos. absolutely amazing and tasty. Not all beers on tap were working . Friendly Cool place for lunch date .

The establishment boasts an extensive selection of 36 beers on tap, with Tuesday Pint Night offering great deals on beers and live 80s music covers.
Great food and the staff was very helpful! We had the fish n chips, fish sandwiches and for the kiddos some chicken nuggets. We will be back definitely and gotta have some drinks next time!

Went here on a friend's recommendation, and I enjoyed my meal. Very casual, laid-back atmosphere. Order as you enter and seat yourself. I had the fish & chips and a tossed salad. The fish was really light, crispy, and flavorful! I was disappointed with the shoestring fries as the "chips." Not bad. I just have never been a fan. Expected thicker cut fries. 🤷‍♂️ The tossed salad was great, nicely sized, with the manager recommended walnut dressing. I saw most people ordering burgers... maybe next time!

This was our second time eating here and we enjoyed the food and service both times. The big turnoff for me is the dirty look of everything. The bussers did a great job cleaning tables, it is just the generally old, worn down, dirty appearance of everything. The patio even had puddles of water under some tables so it was hard to find a place that looked clean and comfortable to sit.
Moriah G — Google review
Beautiful setting! But that luster went away when I walked in. I was looked at like I was supposed to know what to do when asked if we sit down ourselves or what. She looked up from her phone and directed us to the bar to order. So you have no clue walking in what to do. The bar tender acted completely annoyed and rolled his eyes when I said I didn’t want alcohol just was told to order food. Then our food just came out, literally thrown on the table there’s fries everywhere lol. The server ran off back to the kitchen. I’m not coming back. Food was good but I’ll go elsewhere for fish and chips. Very disappointed.

Nestled in the very heart of the entertainment district, The Executive Surf Club delivers an experience that’s both diverse and engaging. The venue is segmented into three connected areas, each with its own distinct vibe. The largest space is an outdoor performance area with a covered stage, which transforms into a lively, festive gathering spot on party nights. This vibrant energy makes it an ideal destination for those who love to soak up an energetic ambiance while enjoying live entertainment. The food here is a delightful revelation amid the bustling atmosphere. During my visit, I sampled the classic fish and chips—an absolute standout, bursting with flavor and perfect for those hungry moments. My daughter enjoyed her shrimp burger, and my son wasn’t far behind with his tasty fish sandwich. On another occasion, I tried the fried shrimp and fries, which came out wonderfully, while my husband’s fish tacos were a pleasant surprise. The menu offers approachable, satisfying options that elevate the overall experience, making it a hit with both adults and kids. One of the unique aspects of The Executive Surf Club is its thoughtful layout. Depending on your entry point, you might first experience an ambiance reminiscent of a downtown café, complete with a service counter where you can place your order for bar and grill classics. The food is then delivered to your table in any of the three areas, preserving the charm and individuality of each space. This clever segmentation, a common trend in downtown establishments that have grown into adjacent spaces, avoids the impersonal feel of a massive warehouse and instead offers a sense of separation and character. In summary, The Executive Surf Club offers a multi-dimensional experience that combines festive outdoor entertainment with a solid, family-friendly menu. Whether you're drawn to the energetic performance space or the unexpectedly delicious food, this spot manages to create a dynamic setting that caters to both the party-goer and the casual diner. It’s a commendable choice for anyone looking to enjoy quality food in a vibrant environment.

Ordered a burger for me and my wife, it came out raw. I took it back to the kitchen to be redone. The manager came out and apologized and assured us it would come out correct. It did in a matter of minutes and they both were great. The manager brought it out himself and once we were happy he returned with a gift certificate for our next meal that was more than our order. Great service.

Andy's Kitchen is a well-established neighborhood diner in Corpus Christi, known for its homestyle comfort food and Mexican dishes. The restaurant offers a wide range of options including homemade chili, country fried steak with special gravy, sirloin, seafood, and an extensive Mexican menu featuring nachos, quesadillas, tacos, and chalupas. Families are catered to with a dedicated children's menu.
Dropped in for a late lunch (sorry staff!!) they were so accommodating even though much of their food was already out of stock. The blueberry muffins were still coming out HOT! The chicken fried steak was the table hit! I got the Rueben sandwich - wasn’t the best but not sure what I was thinking ordering that at Andy’s. Oh well. My father in law had the liver and onions and enjoyed it! We got a basket of rolls and jalapeño corn bread and it was so good!!!

A great place for breakfast. We come here every time we visit from San Antonio. The eggs and bacon are delicious. The 3 dollars pancakes are cute and very tasty. And I have to mention their biscuits and gravy, very good. Also, the staff is very friendly and prompt. The overall atmosphere here is amazing. We even loved how so many regulars were eating here and the employees were on first name basis with them. They already knew their orders too! That’s just great customer service. We will keep coming back and definitely recommend this place!

They just “get it”! Reminds me of a diner circa 1980. Honest helpful staff, great food! Breakfast menu was a solid choice of traditional american options and Mexican options. Food was fantastic! Portions were rational, and flavorful. My coffee cup stayed full the whole meal, every staff ensured we were cares for. Skip the fast food and try this local joint!

Andy's Kitchen in Corpus Christi is an absolute gem, embodying everything a classic diner should be. The ambiance is warm and inviting, a perfect blend of nostalgic charm and bustling energy. A delightful detail that truly sets it apart is the miniature toy train that perpetually circles the dining room, a whimsical touch that brings a smile to every face, young and old. The wait staff are consistently hospitable and genuinely friendly, making you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just a customer. They contribute significantly to the comforting, home-like atmosphere. But let's talk about the food! The biscuits and gravy are a revelation – fluffy biscuits smothered in a rich, flavorful gravy that tastes homemade. The crispy bacon is cooked to perfection, a crunchy complement to any breakfast dish. And the silver dollar pancakes? They are, without a doubt, the cutest you will ever lay eyes on, perfectly portioned and incredibly delicious. Andy's Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone seeking hearty, delicious food and an experience that feels like stepping back into a simpler, friendlier time.

Andy's Country Kitchen: A Local Gem Where the Trains Run on Time (and the food is like home cooking). On a quest for authentic local flavor in Corpus Christi, Google led us to Andy's Country Kitchen, and boy, are we glad it did! We rolled in around noon, expecting a wait, but were whisked right to a table. Score one for immediate gratification! Stepping inside, you immediately realize this isn't your average chain restaurant. The decor is a delightful mix of aged wood, an abundance of greenery, and – wait for it – a model train that chugs along above your head! It's not fancy or trendy, but it's got a unique, quirky charm that just feels fun. Yes, it's a bit cozy (some might say "snug," especially when it's bustling), but they're clearly maximizing space to get all that deliciousness out to the hungry masses. Our server was efficient and friendly, guiding us through a menu loaded with comforting foods, including breakfast. And comforting it was! This is good, hearty, honest-to-goodness downhome cooking. The portions are generous and the food arrived surprisingly quickly. The prices? Very fair for the quality and quantity – a rare and beautiful thing these days. What truly sealed the deal for me was the distinct lack of obvious tourists. This felt like a genuine local hangout, which, as a discerning traveler, I wholeheartedly appreciate. If I lived in Corpus Christi, I'd be a regular fixture at Andy's. It's the kind of place where you leave feeling full, and happy. Don't expect white tablecloths; expect good food, good vibes, and maybe a little elbow room negotiation. Highly recommend for a truly local taste!

Bellino Ristorante Italiano e Bottega is a charming restaurant located in The Village Shopping Center, offering a delightful fusion of Italian and Sicilian cuisine. Helmed by Sicilian chef Francesco Inguaggiato, the menu features classic dishes from both traditions, including calamari al sugo, Caesar salad, caprese paninis, spaghetti ala bolognese, and chicken breast in gorgonzola sauce.
Celebrated my birthday with dinner at Bellino Ristorante and they totally exceeded our expectations! Many delicious options to select from, weekly menu specials and great wine. Warm and cozy feel when you are seated and staff is knowledgable, attentive, genuine and provided us with excellent service & recommendations. I want to personally give our sincere gratitude to Nikki for making my dinner out a memorable and fantastic experience. You are a rare find and Bellinos is lucky to have you on staff as you truly have a heart willing to serve and enjoy providing customers with a great experience. From our appetizer, wine, main dish and desert - all was fabulous! We will surely return to try more dishes and will recommend to friends and family.

This was the most disappointing Italian restaurant experience I've ever had, and the experience was characterized by a series of hiccups that should have made me walk out the door much, much sooner. So let's talk about it. I didn't like how the waitress offered me bread service while I was browsing for the menu for the first time (a service that is often complimentary) when it turned out to be a separate expense. I don't mind paying for bread service, but there was no transparency there. I don't like unexpected fees on my bill. She could have had the courtesy to tell me there would be a charge and I would have accepted it. The bread was ice cold. Made fresh or not, I don't understand why you would serve ice cold bread to your patrons. I asked her if it was intended to be served cold and received a non-answer. Have some respect for your patrons, heat up your bread if it's ice cold. The calamari appetizer, average. I could go to any cajun or seafood restaurant and order the same thing and the flavor profile would be vastly the same; you're not getting anything special when you order the calamari appetizer here, is all I'm saying. But it was okay. It just wasn't special. It wasn't something I would really recommend to others. The main course harbors my main complaints, chicken parmesan. Let me wedge a compliment in here real quick and say the sauce was delightful, they did a good job. I enjoyed the sauce. But the noodles were undercooked, very chewy, not al dente. And the chicken was overcooked, stringy, chewy. It was the most unpleasant main course I've had anywhere in a while. And it's especially disappointing because the place is lovely. Yes, the place is nice. The atmosphere is great. They take pride in their aesthetic and tables are dressed nicely. But when a place looks and feels that good, I want the food to taste that good. And when it doesn't, it's just an incredible disappointment and the contrast becomes unbearably noticeable. The Bellino restaurant exudes fanciful vibes of an elevated dining experience but the food only exudes mediocrity.

My experience , we went around 2:00 and able to get lunch hour prices. Thankful for that. First impression walking in was beautiful and looked like a fine dining restaurant. Our dishes were good but definitely not great. To start we ordered the calamari, calamari season and texture was good, but there was an old oil after taste. The main dishes flavors were there but meatball consistency was a little soft for my liking. Pasta was more than Alden te, and our meal did not come with a salad or bread. I did ask for bread after we started eating and I have to say, instant regret! Bread tasted old and stale. In my opinion if brushed lightly with butter and toasted, it would have made the world of difference, definitely would have paired better with any and all their food and made for a better experience. This place definitely has potential to be an awesome restaurant, just a couple of simple changes that wouldn’t cost a penny just a little more TLC! Waitress knew her job and was great at recommending menu items. Very friendly!

Came here with my grandma, she had the lasagna which was delicious, calamari, tried it myself as well and I had the bolognese pasta. The bolognese pasta was one of the best I’ve had in a while. To be honest I was pretty impressed with the flavor of the meat sauce and the lightness of the pasta. It was a bit confusing as the menu name was different than the building I entered. Seems that there are two parts of the restaurant not really sure. Nevertheless the food was fantastic and can’t wait to be back to try something else.

Really lovely restaurant BUT we were really disappointed in the service. Kimberly was kind but not attentive. Our wine and water were never refilled during our stay, she had another employee come take our dessert order and never gave us a wine bag to take home the rest of our bottle. The bread was dry and old - thankfully, we weren’t charged for it. Overall, the service felt “turn and burn” despite this being our special date night that we spent a lot and had hoped would be a grand experience for what we paid. Very disappointing.

I wanted so badly to like this place. The food was very bland. Not italian, not Italian American, unfortunately just was lacking in flavor and not well prepared. I had the walnut pasta which was a flavorless white sauce, no evidence of mascarpobe or aged cheese, with a few whole walnuts that were not even toasted. For an upcharge, a few slices of flavorless chicken were placed on top. I had a salad that was just spring mix thrown from a bag with two (2) tomato slices. My date had chicken parm which was an impossibly thick piece of chicken, not pounded as the dish is typically meant to be prepared. Also we waited a very unusually long time for the food. The cocktails were good and I would only consider coming back for a cocktail at the bar. Truly disappointing and I tend to think that this restaurant group just doesn't know what it's doing and does not prepare the food with any love or care.

Seafood restaurant
Snoopy's Pier is a well-established eatery founded by a veteran fisherman in 1980, offering a family-friendly setting with stunning bay views. It provides open-air dining right on the water, allowing guests to enjoy unobstructed sunset views over the bay. The complex has expanded to become an attraction for sun seekers, live music enthusiasts, and food lovers.
Lower your expectations of the look of your food and you'll be happier ☺️ Overall the crabcake salad was good but there was many 2 tiny artichoke pieces hidden amongst very boring ice burg lettuce. Hubby had Redfish that was tasty. The view was cool. There was no shade outside or fans. If they added that with misters, it would really be great. Next time Id try the fries or onion rings. Service was basically self serve with random 15 yr old busboys running around.

We had a very fun visit at this location! The food was good, but the breaded chicken tenders my kids got were undercooked and overly breaded. Everything else was amazing, though. You order your food prior to finding a seat. We enjoyed the outside seating. The bar area had some live karaoke going on, and an ice cream shop right next door. It's such a fun atmosphere.
Chadwick D — Google review
Our favorite part was being directly on the water and having a front row seat to the dolphins. The sunset was beautiful. The food was pretty good, but I think I ordered too much fried food. So that was more my fault than the restaurants fault. My daughter did swipe one of the turtle soaps and started to eat it. So I did pay for that. Overall; I think we would definitely come back, I would just order a salad next time with seafood on it.

I visited Snoopy's Restaurant with my friend a couple months ago and we were disappointed in the food. The fish tasted like it was frozen fish cooked and breaded in bland fish fry. 🐟 The fries tasted liked bagged fries and were tasteless. 🍟 If you want to get condiments and the drinks it is self-served. The food did not taste real or authentic, everything tasted like frozen, bagged food that they fried. I could have made the food at home for how it tasted! I will say the scenary was beautiful and there was good, karaoke live music. 🎤 🎶 🎵 If you want good, flavorful seafood please skip this restaurant.

The food was okay. Nothing too special or to write home about. The best part was probably the view and atmosphere. They had karaoke the night we went. I the sunset was beautiful and the salt water smell was perfect 👌🏽

Incredibly disappointed in our take out order today. We ordered over the phone and they forgot to add our fried catfish meal. The kids grilled cheese sandwiches were $10 - and didn’t look correctly cooked. We tried to call back to correct our order and the phone just rings. Our shrimp platters and hush puppies were good - consistent with a food shack menu, so the price just didn’t match the quality unfortunately. We spent over $100 on very cheaply made food. Customer service could be better and more professional. Will not order from here again.

We arrived at 6 p.m. and brought our dogs. There’s a dog-friendly patio with plenty of shade and seating near Scoopy’s, the dessert spot next door. A DJ was there running karaoke, which added to the vibe. You order your food at the register and then find a seat. They call your name over the intercom when your food is ready, but it was a little hard to hear from where we were sitting because of the music. The menu encourages you to add sides, which range from three to four dollars. It’s a little misleading if you’re not paying attention, but the portions are large. You can also order individual items a la carte, like fish or shrimp. We got a dozen shrimp. They were huge and perfectly fried. We also ordered the Snoopy’s combo, which came with fries, four fried oysters, four shrimp, and fried fish. The fish wasn’t cut like a filet, more like two big fish nuggets. Still, everything came out hot, fresh, and in large portions. We hadn’t been here since we were kids. We came back for the nostalgia but ended up getting a solid meal and some fun karaoke entertainment. The dog-friendly patio was a nice bonus.

Water Street Oyster Bar

Restaurant
Water Street Oyster Bar is a beloved seafood restaurant located in downtown Corpus Christi, offering a picturesque view of the Corpus Christi Bay. With its origins dating back to a transmission shop, this family-owned establishment has become a popular dining spot for both locals and visitors. The menu features an array of fresh seafood, including mesquite-grilled Gulf catches and locally sourced oysters. In addition to its coastal vibes, Water Street Oyster Bar also offers sushi options for those craving Japanese cuisine.
My family and I visit this oyster bar whenever we’re in Corpus Christi and for good reason. They can get quite busy so expect a wait especially if you’re going for their unbeatable happy hour. Their oysters are super fresh and super good. Great atmosphere that is spacious with professional and attentive staff. There’s dining on two floors and they have a sushi operation going on right next door that is attached and your sushi orders are actually coming from there. Can’t go wrong with any of their main entrees either. They’ve got nice, clean, big bathrooms as well.

One thing I can say is the atmosphere and vibe of the place was really good. There's a raw seafood bar where you can watch the workers prepare. Plenty of seating but I admit it was VERY busy. We had to reserve 5 hours in advanced to secure a spot. The food was OK, not bad but also not mind-blowing. Everything was fully cooked and presented beautifully but the flavor was lacking. (The dipping sauce was really good though). Overall personally I wouldn't recommend this. But dont let that deter you from trying it. The waiter and staff were super friendly, just the food I tasted was not up to my standards.

Someone recommended this restaurant and I’m glad they did! Our server Marty was wonderful. She recommended my plate and man it was good! Real friendly and made us feel like home. Over all food was delicious the atmosphere was pleasant. My wife and I will definitely be back. Thank you Marty!!

We were glad to see the Shrimp & Oyster Embrochette back on the menu. Robert was our waiter, and he was outstanding. I really liked my oysters. I had a bad experience a while back at the new Landry's, but here they were big and tasted fresh. We always get crawfish tails for our appetizer, but they aren't listed on the menu We did not especially like the key lime pie filling, but the graham cracker crust was so good!
Cheri P — Google review
The place is very nice, the bartender took my order and never once came back asking if everything was all right or if I wanted another drink. I bought half dozen oysters. And they were some of the smallest saddest oysters I’ve seen in a while. I ordered a seafood planter oysters, and shrimp. The shrimp was good, but I think kind of small and the oysters were even smaller never quite had a seafood platter like that one of the saddest seafood platter I’ve ever had. Nice place pricey food and very small portions. You might want to have a snack before you get here. You might leave hungry. I travel all over the United States on music tours and this is a type of place that I would stay away from when I’m on the road. It was recommended to me so I had to go and check it out. But I don’t think I’ll be going again anytime soon. Too much money for too little.

This is a great little gem in CC. The building was remodeled and done very modern and cool. At the back of the bar, they have this cool wall done in oyster shells. The oysters were on point. I could have eaten a million. The service was terrific. We will definitely be going back. I will say I will most likely skip the sushi next time. It was dry for sushi.
Marsha D — Google review
Great food drinks and star! We will return to enjoy all the great atmosphere. The staff is knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic. Our server, Sarah, guided us through the extensive daily selection with the ease of a seasoned sailor. She explained the flavor profiles of each oyster—from the petite, metallic Kumamotos to the larger, creamy Bluepoints—with specific, mouth-watering detail. And then, there were the oysters. We ordered a dozen, a mix of Sarah's recommendations served glistening on a bed of ice. Each one was perfectly shucked, free of any gritty shell fragments. The first oyster was a taste of pure ocean, a clean, crisp brine that awakens the palate. The mignonette, a classic red wine vinegar with shallots, was a zesty, clean complement that highlighted, rather than masked, the oysters' natural flavor. While the raw bar is the main event, the cooked dishes proved the kitchen is equally talented. The Chargrilled Oysters were a revelation—smoky, buttery, and packed with a garlicky breadcrumb crunch. They were an indulgence that perfectly balanced the clean simplicity of the raw selection.

We called the restaurant ahead of time to check if they allowed dogs. The first person we spoke with said they did, but the patio was under construction. We called again later, and this time they confirmed the patio was open and dogs were welcome. So we decided to go. We arrived around 5:30 p.m. on a Saturday. Parking was available on the side of the restaurant. The place was already busy, but we were seated right away since no one else was sitting outside. The patio was still being renovated, but it was open and usable. They still honor happy hour on Saturdays from 3 to 6. Our server brought us a menu that had dinner options on one side and sushi on the other. About two-thirds of the sushi was included in the happy hour deal and was half off. They also had a variety of beers and wines on special, along with several food specials not listed on the regular menu. We started with oysters. They were large, fresh, and not too salty or briny. They came out quickly. For entrées, my wife ordered the bacon-wrapped scallops, which came with parmesan zucchini, stir-fried rice, and a Caesar salad on the side. We were also given complimentary bread. The scallops were perfectly cooked—big, tender, and wrapped in bacon that had a nice char. Possibly wood-fired, but we’re not sure. I ordered the blackened red snapper, which was one of the specials that night. It came with rice, seasoned vegetables, and a buttery, garlicky sauce that reminded me of a beurre blanc. The fish was fresh, cooked well, not dry, and had great flavor. The sauce was a perfect complement. Overall, everything came out fairly quickly, especially for a Saturday night. Even though the patio was under renovation, it was still comfortable, and we appreciated being able to bring our dogs. The food, service, and atmosphere made for a great experience. We’ll definitely come back.

If you're looking for a delicious steak dinner in Corpus Christi, Republic of Texas Bar & Grill is the perfect place to go! The restaurant has amazing views of the bay and offers a variety of great steak options, all made with high-quality natural ingredients. If you're looking for an elegant atmosphere and delicious food, look no further than this top steak house in town.
Got recommended this restaurant by our bartender where we were staying, and this was by far the best recommendation I’ve ever had. I called to make a reservation and the lady I spoke with was very nice and was able to get us a table booked. The whole experience was great. The best steak I’ve ever eaten, it was cooked to perfection and was just delicious, the sides were pleasant as well. Ordered myself a blue hawaiin drink from the bar and it was just as delicious as it looks. Our server and his helper were really nice as well and very accommodating. It was the perfect date night dinner! 10/10

We've, now, been in Corpus Christi for a little over 2 months. Each new place we eat at, I keep saying is my new favorite. But I tell you, this place exceeds all!!! The food was divinely delicious and the drinks were devilously devine! Wes, our waiter, was great and made sure I didn't mess up my order with the bison. Our hostess was really sweet as well. The bartenders knew what they were doing and didn't make me feel rushed trying to order from there novel of a menu! And the quail legs!!! The quail legs will forever live rent free in my head!

1 star for the entire experience! We were here to celebrate my girl's birthday, I never, personally would have chosen this place. I made an 8:30pm reservation & still had to wait. Once we were finally seated at our table the entire experience went downhill. The only thing that was done correctly was the request to be seated at a table with an ocean view. We ordered our dinner and salads to start, well it took over 15 minutes just to bring out the salads, this was a precursor of what was to come, or not. We finished our salads and bread and waited another 15 minutes and still no entrees. Well it's sad to say that after an hour and 15 minutes later, still no entrees. It was now 9:45pm and by now,3 loafs of bread later and only eating the dinner salads, we were ready to leave. It was only then that the server said, let me go check on the entrees, after I told her that we were ready to leave and to just bring out my bill. She became contentious and said, you'll have to take that up with my manager because we were about to bring out the entrees, almost an hour and a half later. She wanted to argue with me about leaving due to the poor service and the long wait for the entrees. The brought out my bill which was for the salads and drinks, 32.00 and I was told that this was all I was going to pay because we were never served our entrees. Well when the manager brought out my credit card, I noticed that she ran it for about 112.00 for entrees which were never served and entrees that we never ate. I showed the manager the initial bill of 32.00 and asked why she processed my card for 112.00 she admitted to making a mistake, I didn't sign the receipt for 112.00, she did correct the mistake and I did pay for what we ate Here's the icing on the cake, there was another table of 6 people sitting next to us, also celebrating a birthday. They were being asked to leave because they were complaining about their service as well. All I can say is that they ruined our birthday celebration and that I personally won't ever go back to this restaurant. I personally wouldn't recommend it it to anyone that I know. So here is my personal ratings. View 5⭐ Ambiance with the live music,5⭐ Bread 5⭐ Service 1⭐ Food 1⭐ we never received our entrees. Overall experience 2⭐ Likelihood of ever visiting this place again 0⭐ Recommend this place to people I know 0⭐

Our filets were a tad overdone, but the flavor was still good. All the shareable sides were great, especially the mac and cheese and the brussel sprouts. The view is neat if you get seated at a table with a view.

The food was pretty good, but very expensive. My boyfriend and I got ribeye steaks, Caesar salads, mashed potatoes, and a crème brûlée. The steak was juicy, but a little more cooked than I asked for. All the other food was great and they start you off with bread and butter. We had great views of the ocean and sunset. My waiter was very friendly and helped guide us through the menu.

Just visited the resort and wanted to try the food here. Our waitress Brittany was fantastic, she answered all our questions and was such a pleasure to talk to! We had the Bison Ribeye, Beef Tenderloin and the Au Gratain potatoes and everything was amazing with a fair price!

I enjoyed a delicious filet with seasoned vegetables. It became my favorite steak place in corpus! Four adults and two kids all agreed that the food was delicious. The cosmos had a sweet candy orange garnish that tasted delicious as well. The children chose pepperoni pizza and fries for their food. They agreed the pizza was "very yummy." We were celebrating and had the chocolate mousse for a special dessert. It had a rich flavor that is the perfect ending to a fabulous dinner. The service was outstanding! The hostess was very polite and continuously complimented my daughter as we passed. The waitress was on top of her game and very understanding to the needs of the children. It was worth every penny for the service & the food. I would highly recommend for everyone to enjoy a beautiful view with amazing customer service & food.

We got here just in time.. No line to wait. Special was drum fish with a ponchatrain sauce with steamed veggies and a salad. I Enjoyed every morsel. Table mates had fried fish, shrimp, and the biggest hamburger I've seen with 8 ounces of Angus beef. Staff was very attentive. Seating inside or outside. Recommend.!

These are some of the best fried mushrooms you’ll find around here! Light breaded, flavorful and full mushrooms. Service was fast and friendly but not rushed. It’s a bit loud in there since the tables are close together with an overall small space. Fish and shrimp was delicious and fresh!

This place is no more than 2 out of 5 stars for me.😔 I had high hopes for the crawfish bisque, but unfortunately, it lacked salt and seasoning — it tasted bland. My husband felt the same way. The shrimp we ordered were overcooked and a bit tough. We got 8 small shrimp for $19, which felt overpriced. The oysters were quite good, but honestly, I’m not sure it’s even possible to mess up raw oysters. The place was pretty crowded — I guess the locals enjoy it. Maybe they just haven’t had anything better to compare it to? The waitress who served us forgot to bring water for our dog, even though we specifically asked. That was disappointing.😢😢😢

This cafe is in the museum, you have to stop and get some pin to enter the restaurant from a basket in the gift shop, but the view is very beautiful , of the bay. The food was really good but I like the vibe of the other Hester's location.

The all-glass walls at Hester's at the Art Museum provide spectacular views of CC Bay, the Harbor Bridge and the city's top two attractions on North Beach (Aquarium and Lexington). The food is healthy, fresh and one of the "sure bets" for having a really good lunch in Corpus Christi. It's inside the museum, but they allow you to enter for free if you are dining at Hester's. Service is fast and quality is dependable.

It was ok. Ambiance was great, people there very friendly. Sandwich I had only ok. Salad it came with only had greens, but had a nice balsamic vinaigrette. Lemonade was good, and the capachino nice, but would have been better with China. But the real issue I had is if your just going in for lunch the front desk stops you, you have to go through the museum. Been to all the hesters, probably wouldn't go back to this one.

Corpus Christi International Airport

International airport
Airport
Corpus Christi International Airport is the main airport serving South Texas, offering convenient amenities such as a military lounge and free WiFi. Located in the vibrant city of Corpus Christi, this Gulf Coast destination boasts diverse attractions and favorable weather. The airport provides efficient services with well-maintained facilities, including standard airlines, check-in desks, and smooth security checks. Additionally, it offers spacious waiting areas with dining options and shops.
Small but nice airport in all aspects. Easy to get around, clean, and not overwhelming like bigger airports. It even has a bit of a coastal feel that fits the seaside city vibe. A smooth and pleasant experience overall.
Isaac R — Google review
Nice little clean airport. Too bad that 25 planes were diverted here because of bad weather in Houston so we spent 7 hours on the tarmac only to deplane outside in the dark and have to walk to the airport (why couldn't we have done this 7 hours earlier?) and wait 3 hours to get our bags that never even came off the plane and then wait 8 more hours to fly to Houston...
Elliot M — Google review
Although 2000+ folks were all on planes that were diverted from landing in Houston to this small airport, the airport personnel and restaurant/shop people couldn’t have been nicer. Big shout out for United Express Lead, Alicia Foy, for her Herculean task of keeping people alerted, moving plane stairs, and smiling in spite of the massive number of people and chaos.

*Recommendation:* Enhance In-Transit Experience through Additional Amenities Corpus Christi International Airport (CRP) is a convenient and relatively stress-free airport to travel through, given its small size and short walks. To further improve the experience for passengers, consider adding more amenities such as: - *Dining Options:* Expand the variety of restaurants and cafes beyond Whataburger and Republic of Texas Bar & Grill. Consider adding local seafood restaurants or food trucks to showcase the city's culinary scene. - *Comfortable Seating Areas:* Increase the number of comfortable seating areas throughout the terminal, including quiet zones or lounge areas with charging stations. - *Shopping:* Add more local shops or boutiques selling unique souvenirs, Texas-themed gifts, or coastal-inspired products. - *Art and Culture:* Showcase local art, history, or cultural exhibits within the terminal to give passengers a glimpse into Corpus Christi's rich heritage. By enhancing the in-transit experience, CRP can increase passenger satisfaction, encourage longer stays, and ultimately benefit local businesses. *Rating:* 4/5 stars This recommendation focuses on building upon the airport's strengths while addressing areas for improvement. Feel free to modify it based on your specific needs and preferences!

Flew into this airport for the first time this week. As a frequent flyer of over 2 decades who have come to appreciate smaller airports, this one easily became one of my favorites immediately. Modern, streamlined, easy to navigate, this airport's terminal also has an outdoor patio/observation deck with a great vibe and view. Looking forward to flying through here again.
K.R.H. L — Google review
The good: it's a smaller airport and is easy to navigate. The bad: it's a smaller airport and so flights tend to be on smaller planes with higher ticket prices. The ugly: TSA is as bad here as anywhere. They are rude, condescending, and invasive. Your constitutional rights don't matter to them. The worker pawed through our food bad and smashed stuff without a care. They confiscated a wine bottle opener from me due to a 1/4 inch blade!

Nice and clean little airport. Has a pet relief station with a fire hydrant right in the middle of it. It was absolutely spotless. My dog wouldn’t use it, that’s how clean it was. If anyone has been to the pet relief station at DIA you will appreciate the station here at Corpus Christi !!
Christi M — Google review
Love this airport! Small enough to make it easy to go in and out. Checkin and security people are so friendly. Car rental counters are by baggage claim. Rental car pickup and return is just outside the airport. There is a bar and restaurant after TSA.
