Well maintained and beautiful station. A little out the way with access through the park. Free entry with guards at the entrance who take photos of the visitors and car. A couple of places to drink coffee or have snacks. One coffee shop is up a load of steps so we stayed grounded! Freshly ground coffee on the platform was deliciously smooth and hot and not expensive. Plenty of photo opportunities here and a chance to see or ride the trains.
Khun Tan is a national forest, a famous railroad hill station, and a famous railroad tunnel. Known as the highest train station in Thailand and is very popular in a romantic sort of way. There are homestays in the town and area and probably camping areas in the national forest. I have passed through here many times on the train, but have not spent the nigh there yet, something to look forward to.
Beautiful and nice small station, just passed by..hopefully, Khun Tan could be the next destination.
Cold and hot drinks, fresh and snack food. Local tickets cannot be reserved; ticket sales open 1hr before departure (B15-33, each way KhunTan《》Chiang Mai).
Very small railway station. The train usually waits here around 1 min. There is a red color tunnel that the train pass away, really beautiful.
One of the best scenery in Thailand and the longest tunnel in Thailand, about 1 mile or 1,300 meters
I took train from Chiang Mai to bkk first time in April,2026. This station was really impressed me. It was really nice view
Nice Railway station in the middle of nowhere adjacent to a tunnel where the train traverse the mountain & passes thru the other side on the way to Chang-mai
