Porpoise Bay Provincial Park is a hidden gem on the Sunshine Coast. The campsites are spacious and well-maintained, with clean washrooms. I prefer my own campfire pot but the communal fire pits are a great way to meet other campers. Plus, you're just minutes from Sechelt if you need supplies or want to check out the farmers market. Highly recommend for a peaceful, nature-filled getaway.
Biked in and plenty of room on a Sunday afternoon. Food lockers and water right nearby and decent shower and washroom block too. Beach is lovely, large tidal range.
Absolutely loved it here. Wonderful place to paddle board. Calm waters. We saw purple star fish, tiny crabs running between the rocks at the beach, harbour seals and we think orcas due to the fins and the huge water spouts from breathing. The bathrooms were impressively clean, shiny even!!
Perfect spot campground very quiet, beachfront, huge trees, lot of blackberries , pet friendly trails and small river. Im from calgary so we spend here 8 days coz the travel is almost 16hrs oncluding ferry. Theres also a close 2 areas for crabbing. Just make sure to buy license. So many sea shells
We loved our stay at this campsite! It was a pretty popular campsite in the summer, most of the sites have been reserved from months ago, but we manage to get a first come first serve campsite. The washroom is clean, the shower is clean but not well lighted at night, the hot water is hot though! Plenty of playground areas for kids. They have fire pits but fire ban was in effect when we visited. You can access the beach from the provincial park. The day use area is next to the beach, so it can be a perfect spot for a gathering. They also have a designated camping area for bicycles! We haven't seen much of this bike camping spot anywhere else, so that's cool.
Typical Provincial campgrounds with two notable differences: 1. No individual campfire pit at each site as there is a communal fire pit near the centre of the campground & 2. There’s a clean and beautiful beach within walking distance.
great campground. lots to see. the only downside is no individual campfires
This is one of the best campsites I have ever stayed in. The campsites are large and very nicely divided. It is very close to the beach and the main park. You can go to the beach and relax. Spend time at the provincial park and have a picnic there. But when you are camping here it is always like having a picnic. The restrooms are showers are nice and clean. They get cleaned daily and a schedule is posted to let you know the cleaning times. The nature here is nice and you can walk around the campsites and enjoy meeting people. Everybody seems nice and friendly and the kids roam around in bikes and on foot. Everything about this park is a great experience. We are definitely coming back again for a nice camping trip.

A very lovely area with so many fun trail options to take. Just overall beautiful greenery with a ton of Pacific Northwest plants to checkout and adore. Many friendly people and dogs too. I love that there was an accessible trail for those with needs for wheelchair access or stroller access, just making the outdoor experience for everyone more possible! Do keep in mind that there are no washrooms or garbage cans, so leaving no trace is very much encouraged ☺️ Will be looking forward to visiting again soon to explore the other trails.
Love this gem of an area. Beautiful and well marked trails all maintained by amazing volunteers. Perfect place to have your well behaved dog off leash. Even though it said ‘busier than usual’ when I went, I still only briefly saw 4 people and 2 dogs. Can’t wait to go back and explore some more.
Hidden Grove is a great little network of short trails. You could easily walk all of them in an hour or so. Great place to take less physically active hikers who still want to see some of the beauty the Sunshine Coast has to offer!
My family and I enjoyed a couple of hours hiking all of the well marked and well maintained trails. The frequent maps posted around the park gave you numerous options with expected travel time for each leg of the hike. It wasn’t crowded on a sunny Sunday in August. Great place to stay out of the heat.
One of the cutest trails I ever hiked! The trails are marked very well, and with a clear map. We only spent about an hour and managed to see many of the big trees and one viewpoint. The viewpoint itself was underwhelming as it's just more trees (I was expecting ocean view or something), but it was fun hiking around.
Great place for a short hike. Some trails are very flat and even wheel chair accessible. A few beautiful old growth trees too.
Truly a unique hiking experience very close to the town of Sechelt with well laid out trails, clearly defined map, and highlights pointing out the many giants of the forest - several Douglas fir trees nearing 600 to over 800 years old.
A nice place for a great variety of walks, all dog-friendly, in a dense old growth fir/hemlock/cedar forest. There are a couple of good viewpoints offering distant views of the Sechelt Inlet. An easy short drive from Sechelt town.

Isabella provided Sunshine Coast brochures and travel itinerary suggestions for international visitors. Best trip. Thank you for sharing local knowledge and information. Most appreciated.
Nice visitor center, lots of pamphlets with info. Free post cards through the front desk. Typical souvenir stuff to purchase - stickers, pins, cards etc. they don’t take cash. Debit or credit only.
We came in with hopes of getting a magnet for our travels and were happy they had a nice one in stock. I appreciate that I was able to get a Sunshine Coast one and not just one that was specific to the town.
Beautiful piece of architecture. The wood work is amazing. The space is well kept and has two levels great for events!
Debra gave us a lot of good information there on beaches around Sechelt!
Awesome visitor centre! Izzy (I think?) is so fun to chat with. The Amazing Race people showed up while we were there and it was certainly interesting haha.
Had a great experience with Debra. We had been camping in the Sunshine Coast for 8 days and really needed a hotel or accommodation for 4 days for a break. Feeling overwhelmed searching on the internet, Debra made several phone calls and found us a place that fit the bill and at a discounted price! She went over and above to help us out. We will be back to find out more about the area and perhaps by some merchandise. Thanks again Debra for your help.
Was actually in the seaside Center for my booster. No line up, no wait. In and out in 15 minutes. Thank You to all those who run the vaccination program. Well done. Thank You for your service, help and support. With appreciation and Gratitude. Joane

Sooo pretty. A bit of a climb (moderate) but it's a short walk... 15 minutes to the top and back. Went on a beautiful sunny day. Trail is well marked.
A 5 minute walk to the waterfall. It's good but it's too small and might not be worth halting here just to see the waterfall.
Very quick bike from the parking lot. A 10 minute walk up a short hill and next to a river , the waterfall has a nice wooden bench. On a sunny day it’s a beautiful view and walk. On a rainy day it might make for a muddy walk.
Less than 1km to the falls and all the way back to where you park. Although it's a short distance, it can get your heart rate going as it's a bit of a climb to the waterfall. You can hear the water the whole way, yet it kind of comes out of nowhere. Once you get back, you can walk up past the picnic tables to an opening with a view. Looks like you can carry on further but I wasn't aware of the reward and did find fairly large sized paw prints that seemed questionable for an unprepared fall adventure.
Pretty falls. It's just 15 mins hike to the falls. There's a bench up there to sit and enjoy the view. Barely ever busy when I went, so no problem finding parking.
Burnett Falls Park is a hidden gem just minutes from downtown Sechelt. The trail is short—about 10 to 15 minutes uphill—but it leads to a beautiful viewpoint across the canyon where you can see Burnett Falls cascading down through the forest. The path is shaded with mossy trees and has a peaceful, rainforest feel, making it a great quick escape into nature. Best time to visit is late winter or spring when the water flow is strongest, though it’s accessible year-round. It’s not a long hike, but the payoff is big for such a short effort
It’s about 5 minutes to get from the beginning up to the water fall. The water was low but we went at the end of august so water levels are normally lower. It’s fairly steep for about half your walk. But very beautiful. There’s a path you can walk down to reach the water. Coupe viewing benches along the way.
Maybe it's for the season but not that much big fall. As it's not that much hiking, it worth to give it a visit but don't expect exceptional view. Maybe in the winter it will have more water according to kneof visitors I heard from.

Nice beach with a wonderful view of the bay. There isn’t really any sand except when the tide is out. There are just smooth river rocks and you need to watch your step on them
Great beach with amazing views. At low tide, there’s lots of crabs and little shellfish to be found. Lots of people sunbathing and swimming. Some food trucks in the summer around the area as well, selling ice cream and other stuff. Nice stop in Sechelt. Parking is a bit tough as it fills up fast.
Ocean to the horizon, in a huge open space. Marked with a small island, shores of Sechelt and Vancouver Island in the distance. Pebble and sandy beaches. A magical small town atmosphere. Cute little shops, wild fresh seafood, Okanagan fruit stands, yummy food in local restaurants like Joe's on the Beach, the Wobbly Canoe and Gourmet Girl. Just gorgeous and healing for the soul! 🌊💙🙏
It’s a rocky beach with stunning view and fresh air,it gets really busy during hot summer day, best time of the day to visit is afternoon during sunset. If you want you can also go fishing or swimming. One of the best part of our visit was watching two bald eagles playing on the tree top.
Gorgeous spot for sunsets in the sunshine coast. Just walk across and there are shops for food & coffee, a yoga centre & ice cream food truck at the far left. In the summer there is a fruit stand across.
A PAWfect place for the PAWKIDS to play on the beach! 🐾 ⛱️ 🌊 Davis Bay Beach was such a beautiful scenic beach with breathtaking views! After an AHh-MaZiNg day of driving around, we stopped at Davis Bay Beach before we headed back on the ferry. Our LABradorables PAWSITIVELY had a PAWSOME time playing on the beach while this PAWmom collected beautiful shells! It was the perfect end to a perfect day on the Sunshine Coast!🐾🌊💜
This beach gave me a closer sense of the sea compared to English Bay, where I usually go for walks — it felt very open and freeing. In fact, you can see a group of sea lions lounging on a distant island, but you’ll need binoculars for that. At least 10x magnification is necessary
Davis Bay Beach is one of the most scenic stretches along Highway 101, with a long pebbly shoreline, a wide seawalk, and a wooden fishing pier that’s popular with both locals and visitors. At low tide, tidal pools and sandbars appear, making it a great spot for exploring. The boardwalk has benches for relaxing, and across the road you’ll often find seasonal fruit stands and cafés, which add to the charm. Sunsets here are especially stunning, drawing people to the pier for evening walks and photos.

Went up Mar 3 and needed to put our chains on 6.5 Km's up. Amazing day , excellent Dakota Ridge hosts Pat and Nancy- showed us which snow shoe track to take to get an amazing view of the back of Mt. Elphinstone
A beautiful spot that we are lucky to have so accessible to the coast! The district and volunteers do an amazing job grooming and maintaining the trails and keeping everyone up to date on road conditions too. Great for all ages and levels.
Just getting up here can be very exciting sometimes. Still always a great outdoors adventure!
This is so close to Sechelt and yet feels like a well kept secret. Loved my experience as a South African. Thanks to all the volunteers and my private tour guide.
Gorgeous trails! Just very busy place and need carchain go up there in snowy condition.
If you are into the great outdoors and have four-wheel drive vehicle or at least chains, you're almost there! It offers great groomed trails for cross country skiing and snowmobiles. There is a hut for use to warm up and eat your lunch. Plenty of parking is available as well . Thanks and enjoy !
Low key, volunteer-run snowshoeing and Nordic skiing area. Beautiful views on a blue sky day. Warming hut and pit toilet but no other amenities. Toboggan slope for youngsters. Love it up there.
The road up was plowed as usual, easy drive. The hosts were very friendly. We went sledding and were the first ones to use the hill so it was still nicely groomed.

Went here for lunch with friends and had a great time. Staff were all very friendly and the food was amazing! Soup and baguette very tasty and friends thoroughly enjoyed a generous portion of mussels 😋. A nice range of ciders to choose from made for a super fin lunch experience. Definitely worth a visit, two thumbs up!!
Great vibe and it just felt like such a nice experience for all the ages ! We loved Sunday music and tried most of their ciders with a few flights and had a great time. Waiting for more flavors and events !
Checked out The Bricker Cider Company on a busy Friday. There's food (charcuterie and pizzas) from The Shed, board games, giant Jenga, cornhole and a playground area for the kids. Outdoor area is spacious. 8 ciders on tap, beer and Shine Kombucha. - Flight ($8.00 for 3) - strawberry and kiwi was the best one. Earl grey had a strange end note, peaches & cream was too subtle
Beautiful spot. Delicious pizza (my vegan wife said it’s the best vegan/gluten free pizza she’s ever had). Great cider. Friendly service. This place is a must visit in Sechelt.
Incredible food and cider selection. The option to choose what we wanted on the charcuterie board was great - they even gave you a bag if you wanted to take it home. The pizza (prosciutto & peach) was delicious
We’ve been coming here every time we’re on the Sunshine Coast for the past three years and absolutely love it! With two young kids (sometimes more if we’re with extended family or friends), it’s the perfect family friendly space. Adults can enjoy food and drinks while the kids are able to run around and play on the play structure or various activities set out. I highly recommend this place - try the earl gray cider!
What a hidden gem! This peaceful serene cidery offers something for everyone! Great ciders, an amazing menu and good prices! So glad we found it!
Really cool place. Not a great selection of food and a bit pricey but delicious. Salads were very good. Cider was excellent and the opportunity to taste before you buy was great. The atmosphere and ambiance is awesome. Outdoor setting but well setup with covered or open seating. There is a small indoor area with the cider room. There are some outdoor games as well that make it a decent place to hang out for a while. Also dog friendly which is a bonus in a hot day.

Such a cozy Cinema theatre with a great atmosphere, reasonable prices and yummy non-butter popcorn! We were enjoying it with all my family members and definitely come back again❤️
Ravens Cry Eagles cover band was great! Reserved seats and served alcohol at the lobby!
Nice theater. Clean, good picture and decent quality sound. Very worthwhile and surprisingly good for this small town. The Sunshine Coast Film Club shows award winning independent films here. I highly recommend joining the club if you choose to live in the area.
Great video and sound quality, tickets are cheap for a cinema, good snacks, clean washrooms, good customer service, my go-to.
The staff is amazingly friendly, felt very welcome enjoy the movie and the refreshments
I haven’t spent a lot of time at Raven’s Cry but recently attended a National Theatre Event, the production of “Good” with David Tennant and it was excellent. These filmed live productions are so wonderful! You get to see a play up close in person and really got to enjoy a detailed version of theatrical production. Bravo Raven’s Cry! There are several more plays coming and I highly recommend attending if you are able.
Audio quality is terrible. If you want to ruin a great movie go ahead and view it in this theatre. Muffled and quiet dialogue and very low quality speakers and amplification system. Everything else about the theatre is totally fine. Owners need to make some changes and investments in improving the audio experience it's that simple. It's not just kind of bad...its unwatchable to anyone who has any experience enjoying a good home or theater audio setup.
You had Downton Abbey when it first released!! And popcorn!!!

A lovingly curated garden with helpful and smart workers and volunteers. It can take a half hour to a couple of hours to walk around depending on your level of meditation and intrigue into all the cool trees, shrubs, flowers, and edibles (plants, not weed!) that are growing around the premises. We were lucky enough to go on their open house day held every labour day long weekend which meant local vendors and the Lion's Club BBQ'ing it up. And it is dog friendly on the open house day!
Great for a picnic, let's the kids run out and take in some nature. It's by donation so won't break the bank. Great stop on a day out. Ran into some very chill eer
Lovely little place to go for a walk. I absolutely love native plants and checking out the different ecosystems they have made in the gardens is really well done. If you love looking at pollinators and flowers, this is the place for you.
We had our daughters wedding here - an absolutely stunning venue! So much space, with generous time before and after for set up and clean up. Mary and Heather are both lovely and a pleasure to work with. Our guests were all blown away by the beauty and spaciousness of the gardens. Highly recommend!
Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden is a peaceful, evolving space that blends native ecology with curated plantings. It’s not flashy, but it’s thoughtful—meadows, wetlands, and forest edges are laid out to encourage biodiversity and quiet exploration. The garden’s educational signage and seasonal events (like mushroom walks and birding tours) reflect its community-driven spirit. The pollinator garden and heritage orchard are highlights, and the open lawn is perfect for picnics or small gatherings. Downsides? It’s still growing—some areas feel sparse or underdeveloped—and there’s limited shade on hot days. But it’s a gentle, welcoming space that rewards slow wandering and repeat visits.
Really enjoyed walking through the paths and checking out the gardens! Super convenient that you can make your entry donation online as well as you enter the gardens.
It's a nice walk around with some gardens sprinkled throughout. Walking by the ravine is nice. About half hour is all you need here.
This is a gorgeous little oasis. It has a nice picnic area and is beautifully maintained.

Walked from Davis Bay to Selma Park Road. Found the Elder trees. Love the moodiness. There's definitely a bear who lives there, found a fish head away from the river on the trail
This is a good spot for running. Unfortunately there is no fence at all which means dogs can run into the parking lot and onto the busy highway 101 in a flash. I do not recommend this unless a barrier fence is erected.
Used to love this trail along the river with the many magical chainsaw carvings. Since the raging water took out the trail head the trail has been closed. Lovely sign at the trail head that lead you to a dead end and a huge washout. I wish they would make this trail available again with access further up.
A great area full of old growth trees. It is an off leash area so expect to be visited byb4 legged friends.
Nice trail along the river with a small playground
Unfenced dog park with a children's playground ,no separation between small amd large dogs. 2 small dogs approach my big dog and harass him barking and nipping. Thank heavens my guy is trained because the big dog is always at fault
Children's play area, enough green space to exercise your pooch off leash.....and good parking facilities with garbage bins. No public washrooms though.....but they are just a 5min stroll away....on the Davis Bay boardwalk.
The trail is easy to follow in winding Woodlands a few sets of stairs are there to avoid areas of eroded trail . Caused by flooding ,very plessnt there and back walk on a spring day the river is already close and great to see migration salmon at the right time of the year

Beautiful space filled with highly curated wood pieces. A must-see if you're visiting Sechelt. Friendly and knowledgeable staff with something for everyone.
it is a really nice and beautiful gallery, full of wood arts and amazing ship models which i really enjoyed. had a wonderful trip there by the way.
The most wonderful place I've been, with beautiful, and high-end wooden artworks. If you are interested in wood art, or ship models, you can not miss it. Just take a boat ride at Horseshoe Bay and have a visit. Arcadia!!
Fantastic! Charming! I strongly recommend the Gallery!
Fantastic, a lot of high quality wood-art works, especially the hand-crafted ship models! a good view as well! Recommend you to visit in person!
Absolutely worth a visit!!! Spent a wonderful weekend with friends at Sechelt, outstanding wood arts and exquisite ship models. Appreciate the life-style there, and the staffs are amazing and very patient. Can't wait to go there again.
