They had 24 flavours of soft serve, it was hard to pick just one. I settled on Pina Colada and was not disappointed. Every bite tasted like I was drinking an actual Pina Colada! I went back the next day to try cheesecake soft serve and again they hit the mark. Every bite tasted like cheesecake, it was well mixed, very tasty, fantastic soft serve. They also have incredible fudge for such great prices. I struggled to pick flavours, they were all so delicious!
A wonderful, staff friendly, shop with a few local handmade items. Too many cheap trinket items. I highly recommend though, the availability of a public washroom somewhere in the vicinity for the hundreds of visitors who stop by.
After lunch, we drove up the road to Long Point Lighthouse and after a walkabout, spotted and managed with ten minutes to closing to go into this quaint fudge and gift shop. Shelves filled with souvenirs and crafts of all kinds but I didn't take time to really browse. The fudge display must have had about a dozen flavours to choose from. I bought six different kinds - some with nuts and others with flavour like chocolate, maple and orange creamsicle. Each piece was a bite of creamy and soft heaven. A great place to stop but give yourself time to explore the shop - it will be worth it.
Wow so many choices and all so good! Try some of the out of the ordinary ones … they will surprise you! Service was excellent! Take home lasted as late night snacks for quite some time!
Nice store with local gift ideas. They also sell fudge and ice cream. Loved their waffle cone — very fresh and crunchy.
Amazing fudge! Many choices available. Good promotion when you buy many of them. The worker was also very Nice and gave us sample! He even spoke french ;)
Popped in when we visited to check out whales and icebergs of which there were none because of fog. Got 5 different flavours of amazing fudge and a cute moose magnet. Thanks for using a clean spatula for our peanut allergy.
Was very nice. It had a lot of stuff you could choose from.

Stopped here. Beautiful scenery.
Dave took a group of us out for a boat tour and cod fishing on a beautiful September weekend. The cod were plentiful, and the scenery and stories excellent! And the cod were delicious!
I have been dealing with Capt Dave for a few years and he has always treated my Chinese guests with respect and no diffenently than anyone else. Thank you, Dave
Have driven by this little spot so many times and never stopped in. So glad we did this time. What a beautiful spot. So rich in Newfoundland Culture and so many items preserved! Worth a visit!
Amazing ! Captain Dave is a must when going for a iceberg tour . Seen seals and the biggest iceberg around .
A quaint little shop thank you

We stopped by here while we were staying in Twillingate. They have many interesting wines all not made from grapes. We each tried a 5 wine tasting for $10 and we shared each wine so we each got to try 10 wines. We also tasted the Raspberry Screech wine for an extra $2. They give you a list of their wines from the dryer wines at the top to the sweeter wines at the bottom. We started with Vinland Red (Blueberry / Crowberry). It was nice and I did not find it that dry compared to some red wines made from grapes. Next was 3 Sheets to the Wind White made with Rhubarb. We both liked that one and decided to buy a bottle. We also tasted Funky Puffin (Blueberry / Rhubarb), Jellybean Row (Strawberry / Partridgeberry), Krooked Cod (Blueberry / Raspberry) which I liked all of them. Next we tasted Kiss Me Arse (Blueberry / Dandelion) which we both really liked so bought a bottle of that as well. We tasted Frig Off (Strawberry / Raspberry) and liked it but wanted to only bring back 2 bottle due to storage issues. We tried Moose Joose (Blueberry / Partridgeberry) which was the hosts favourite wine as it tasted like juice. The last wine of our 10 we tried was Half Cut (Dandelion) which we liked. We bought 2 regular bottles of wine of the 3 Sheets to the Wind White and Kiss Me Arse to take home with us. We also bought smaller bottles of Vinland Red and Vinland white to have with our dinner that night. I also purchased a blue t-shirt with some Newfoundland sayings on it that I liked. We had lunch sitting next to the Newfoundland Ponies then left to head back to our place. Come here for the great wine and the ponies!
Did a wine tasting here as part of a tour and it was a lot of fun! The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. Hubby and I got to each choose 5 wines to sample so we got to try 10 and enjoyed it immensely! Wound up ordering a case of 12 to be shipped to Ontario ($39.99 for shipping which we thought was very reasonable). Cannot wait for our wine to arrive!
Interesting wine. Berry and plant based vs traditional grape. Did the tasting with Adriana and had a great time chatting with her and another solo traveller. It's a comfortable space, very friendly atmosphere and the food at the restaurant is tasty.
We stumbled upon the Auk Winery last minute as we stayed a short night in Twillingate and we had a fantastic time. Adriana walked us through an awesome tour of the Auk Island Winery and wine tasting. She was very educational and gave us a grate taste of the Newfie ways! Zach also led us through a great screech-in! He made a daunting, cod-kissing moment, an enjoyable and memorable experience! Would highly recommend it if in Twillingate!
We stopped here in Aug 2025 and did a wine tasting with Adriana. She is great! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend stopping in.
Really tasty food at a good price. We discovered also two local red wines -Fifthy shade of bays and Theee Sheets to the wind, really nice, taste like small fruits fresh sangria. :-) And… possibly the best gift shop outside St-John’s! 👍👍👍👍
Adriana was great at describing all the varieties of wine.
Did the the tour with wine tasting! Highly recommend since there isn’t much to do around. You get to try baked apple and blueberry iceberg wines! (Along with many others) cost only 10$. Pass by the restaurant to try the wine flavored soft serve! It’s more like berries flavored ice-cream (doesn’t contain alcohol) like I thought 😅.

Lovely museum featuring local history with examples of period furnishings, documents, photographs and objects portraying life in a Newfoundland fishing village. Charming informative displays in a period house. Fantastic gift shop with local crafts. Free, with voluntary contributions accepted.
Important to note: entrance fee is five Canadian dollars - CASH ONLY. Originally built in 1915 as St. Peter’s third Anglican rectory, this historic building was transformed into a museum in 1973 to showcase Twillingate’s rich heritage. It’s a charming place filled with local antiques and stories. There’s a lot of time pieces that showcase Newfoundland’s history. This museum flows like a residential property bringing you through exhibits that show various types of industry and domestic activity. We got through the museum in about 45 minutes. I think there’s broader appeal to an older audience. May not be as interesting to kids or families. Worth a stop if you have some extra time in the charming town of Twillingate.
Interesting place to visit with a lot of memorabilia inside. The town is very pretty and I recommend walking around to take it all in.
CASH only for the $5 entry. Like many others, we don’t have paper money. We were not able to enter. Google maps should have such conditions posted up front before leading people to a visit
It's of information... The cost is $5.00. The building is very stuffy and the air feels bad No AC only one fan and it's all on the second floor. I would have stayed longer but I had to get fresh air.
Interesting bits of history presented. My favorite artifact was a mustache cup!
It had a lot more to see than I expected. Lots of local history

A well-organized museum showcasing different aspects of local culture and history. The exhibits centered around topics such as local trades and industries, and the Arm Lads Brigade, a paramilitary organization for young men and boys. The location of the museum also serves as a nice lookout point of the water.
Unfortunately the museum was closed when we got there but really enjoyed the great views from the hilltop. We've heard so many good things about this museum that we'll be back to check it out.
Worth stopping by. I was especially touched by the story of the Auk and how it went extinct. Also enjoyed learning about the story behind the building where the museum is located as well as the Bessie Marie, one of the last three-mast ships built in Newfoundland.
Lovely, airy, quaint, and well-organized; interesting displays; sweet gift shop full of locally-made items, and a glorious view.
$5 for adults, great views from the hilltop, interesting exhibits with lots of details and personal stories, a lovely and reasonable craft shop and the woman who works there (Cortney) is so friendly and knowledge. Go!
Fabulous museum, friendly staff, and great views from the parking area!
Long wait at the drive thru and they didnt get the order correct. Wrong dipping sauce and the nuggets were super dry. Likely in the heat bin for way too long.
A great little museum with lots of info and antiques. They have the polar bear, on exhibit, who wondered into town on an ice float. Beautiful location with stunning views of the island. Also, a wide selection of handmade quilts at great prices and other crafts.

Very scenic trail leading all the way to the waters of the Atlantic ocean. The trail starts from LongPoint Lighthouse..difficult level is moderate to a little high..there are stairs in some areas and some areas are plain...some are steep..all in all a mix or everything which makes it all the more interesting.
some cool, easy and not too long hiking trails starts at Longpoint Lighthouse. The trail to the Sleepy Cove goes along the coastline and after a few hundred meters you have to use a lot of wooden stairs. After that go right - then you come to a plateau. From here you can sie the sleepy cove from above. The way down to the water is very easy and the whole trail is highly recommended.
We stayed the night with a couple other vandwellers. Stunning view and and absolutely tranquil experience. The hikes are gorgeous to boot!
One of the most beautiful spots in Twillingate to watch the sunset and watch whales dancing in the bay. Free overnight stay. Come for the views and leave no trace behind. Enjoy.
Beautiful area with great hiking trails that run from the Long Point Lighthouse, and through Sleepy Cove.
We stayed there a few nights! Great spot. Many trails, very scenic. YouTube @doriandmena
You can dry camp here. Recommended donation $20 to owners. A little steep considering there are no hookups. The price would be justified if they at least had electric hookups. You can park free for day use and enjoy the hiking trails.

Great views from the 5 lookouts including the tower. Upper tails are primitive but hike-able.
Very nicely maintained park in twillingate. Not only at the trailhead but also in many parts of the trail they have kept clearly visible markers and maps. There are also well maintained patios as viewing decks at various vantage points to soak in the views. I would say it is a moderate difficulty hike just because there are few elevation points but not too steep.
Pretty nice trail to get different views over the island. Only bad thing about the trail was that some of it was overgrown, especially the area around the pond. Other than that it was pretty nice.
Nice walk with some steep parts, but making the effort rewards you with some great views. Make sure to bring bug spray especially if its calm out,
Very nice easy hike with 4 lookouts and the central top tower. Beautiful views.
Nice hike on a well kept site. There are a lot benches and viewpoints: you definitly could bring a picnic and a book and enjoy the sights for a few hours. Even tough the trail is ranked "easy", it is steep at times.
Good hike, but it's mostly through the forest where there are plenty of bugs (depending on time of year). The view was good, (they had a wooden tower on top) but the view was blocked by the tips of trees. As a tourist living inland, I found the coastal hikes to have a better view and landscape. Even though this is the highest point on Twillingate, other coastal hikes had a better view.
Great trail. Only issue is that the trees have grown quite tall since they built the lookout! Definitely still worth going up for the view though

Met with Tony Roberts, master boat builder, and he gave me such an informative tour. His knowledge of the history of boat building, along with his enthusiasm, makes this tour worth while. I recommend this place to anyone. Then there's the masterpiece that he has built. The best looking small punt I have ever seen Congratulations on a great successful build.
Great displays. Staff in woodworking shop were wonderful and gave us great insight into the building of boats
This museum is a treasure. It's an engaging and enchanting trip into the history of the area, showing you how people built boats when it wasn't just a hobby, but the only way you would have a boat. The interpretation is engaging and kids are made very welcome. They're shown how to build a simple toy boat, which they keep. The whole experience is charming.
What a wonderful museum. I made the stop out of curiosity and was happy I did. I even got a test at the end by Ben, and visited the carpenter and his apprentice making a boat. What a fun and ludique entertainment.
Very informative, interesting little museum. The guys upstairs building the boats were more than happy to answer all our questions.
This was one of the highlights of our cross-province vacation. Tony Roberts (i think that was his name) demonstrated the basics of building a punt (boat) which you will see is something he had a passion for. All while the kids had the opportunity to make there own out of wood.
We went because the website says kids will be able to build small boats. They no longer do that, but haven't updated the website
Excellent museum with well informed staff. Calvin, the lead boat builder, was exceptional in skills and explanations.

Fries were phenomenal. Can't remember what my burger was called but it was a spicy chicken and was perfectly cooked. Good service.
Good food and great beer on tap. Stage Head is no longer with Split Rock brewing co. So the beer selection is less interesting and no more flights of local beer, which was the original reason why we went there.
Food was regular pub food that was served in a timely manner. Staff were friendly but just seemed to be there putting in time. Never checked on us during apps and meal. We also had to go to the bar for the cheque when leaving as they were all there sitting around chatting. OK meal but staff needs some training on how to better serve their customers. Good service by staff equals better tips!
We came here in late May and really enjoyed the beers; my favourite is probably the Sunday Session. The wings were delicious and while most of the flavours were very good. The flavours with Maple Chili were my favourite; I'd avoid Nar' Day (with Lemon Pepper and Dill) though, as it tasted like eating lemons.
Great place for cool music and excellent beer. Just what was needed after a day looking for icebergs with the wife!
Food was great, service was friendly and quick ate at the bar. Had the Nachos and split a Burger way too much food but worth it. Only issue was the entertainment whaling away on stage without taking a break he went on and on and wasn't really that good to begin with.
Very happy with our meal here. Wings are some of the best I’ve had anywhere, big, crispy and cooked perfectly. Enjoyed the beer as well, there’s a good selection and something for everyone. Bacon wrapped scallops are great as well.
Had a great stop on the split rock patio! Lovely view, good beer, and great food! Had the calamari, a burger, and a daily special (bacon wrapped scallops), along with two flights of beer (tried 8/9 on tap). Service was also great - thanks for a great time!

I have tonnes to talk about James. One of the most interesting human beings I've met. He took us on a boat tour, we didn't see any puffins or whales or icebergs but he showed us around and told us the history of everything. He also showed us his amazing astronomy setup.
Sadly, when we stopped by (because an iceberg had grounded in the water off the end of his street) it appears that Skipper Jim is no longer opening his observatory to the general public. The sign out front is gone and his website doesn't appear to be functioning. I believe we spotted him puttering about but we did not approach him to inquire, figuring it's his home, and I'm just a bloody tourist and if he wanted there public to know why he'd closed shop, he would have posted it. So please don't bother them now. I'm giving it a five star rating just because the idea of a functioning observatory built and run as a labor of love by a retired fisherman is so delightfully audacious it deserves recognition. The fact that he built and operated it for a decade (!) is a feat to be honoured.
This place is a must while touring Twillingate. Jim is very informative, a fountain of information.
