Excellent museum of local history. Truly surprising for a community of this size, but then, this is a community with a rich and varied history. Do visit. Very informative.
I loved getting information on my family heritage. Carleton Place is everything I dreamt of and more. I hope to return in the future.
Great snapshot of Carleton Place history. More fun for us as this was mom's school when she was a kid. Good walkthrough of CP settlement and commercial story.
Nice looking building, lots of rocks
Went to the museum's vintage clothing sale today with my beautiful teen daughter, and witnessed one of the 'workers' proceed to demoralize her and degrade her when she wanted to try on an outfit! The 'worker/maybe volunteer' began to explicitly express her opinion on the size of my daughter and express how nothing would fit her as everything was for much smaller sized women! One of the most disgusting experiences I have ever endured When redirected this staff then said ' I just wanted her to know'!!!!!! Not OK!
An informative history and packed with little jewels

Nice place to check out and enjoy local town fairytales and cultures
A quiet and charming little town—perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. Peaceful streets, lovely scenery, and a slower pace of life.
A nice place to attend events. Check out local activities as there always seems to be something on the go. Watch Facebook in 2023 for upcoming activities as it is the 200th Anniversary of Mississi Mills. Mississippi Mudds production: I recently saw "Elf the Musical" here and it was a fabulous show. Check out the shows here as they are always fun and well done. A canteen is set up at the shows for hot and cold drinks, and snacks.
A great and a peaceful city.
I entered the building briefly with a friend of mine and we were greeted with a rather rude and distasteful order by a member of the staff to ‘get out.’ This being a city hall and public entity, I feel as though I have been slighted by the municipality and hope in the near future this will be addressed properly as this town deserves much better representation.
Went to see the Mississippi Muds' interpretation of "The Sound of Music". What a show... the voices... the kids! Broadway quality! Unfortunately they are sold out for the remaining productions. Standing Ovation!!!
We moved to Carleton place last year, and the staff here are very welcoming and knowledgeable. Thank you.
Very inviting, great atmosphere, peaceful. Great town

This is a great park with multiple facilities. You can find several soccer fields, baseball diamond, football field, splash pad, and playground. My children had a blast playing here.
Nice splash pad. Okay playground for young kids. Lots of green space and picnic tables.
We recently moved to Beckwith and have been wanting to try the trail (Goodwood Marsh Nature Trail) in Beckwith park. It is pet friendly as long as animals are on leash, they even have poop bags available at the beginning of the trail. The terrain in the main trail was a gravel pathway which is extremely easy to maneuver; making it a great spot for children, strollers and the elderly. The trail offers another trail (Maple Ridge Branch) that branches off the main trail and loops back. This one isn't a gravel path and has some rocks, still super easy terrain but not stroller friendly. Lovely at this time of year; can't wait to see it in the spring and summer!
Beautiful play structure, large and spacious. Love that there are shelters and places to sit for a picnic. There is a swing for disabled persons, and the playground is built on rubber ground which is far better than sand and wood chips. Splash pad is fun, nice and large and good for all ages - however frequently quits working and needs to be reset. There is usually someone on staff at the rec center to do this, or you can message their Facebook page to dispatch someone.
Clean and well setup for parents and their kids. Playground, walking trails to enhance the multiple soccer fields, baseball and football field ( with lights ) and the arena. The new township hall is being built on site, one entrance to park is closed until new building is completed but still lots of parking thru main entrance ( Beckwith Lane temp closed ).
We play volleyball there every Tuesday and Thursday in the summer, and my son place soccer there every Monday and Wednesday. I love that we can use the splash pad to wash our feet afterwards
Splash pad is excellent, 2 distinct sections, one for bigger kids and one for smaller kids(toddlers). Each section is controlled with their own button. The shade covers were not up today, would have been nice in the sun. I'm guessing due to covid. I cant wait for the park to reopen because it looks really fun for kids with the farming theme.
3 recent visits to this park. Parents accompanying their children and enjoying all the wonderful play structures! There's even a water park on site, soccer field etc.

Awesome beer and I love their Thursday all you can eat taco nights. A great place to buy local beer!!
What a treat for the beer connoisseur. Just off the beaten path of Carleton Place's main strip, Stalwart Brewery offers a selection of top notch brews in an open and warm space that invites social interaction and great vibes. The staff are friendly, informative, knowledgeable, and definitely proud to represent the establishment, the brand, and the products and services they purvey. If you are out and about in Carleton Place and you enjoy fine brewed ales, lagers, stouts, and pale ales, you must put Stalwart on your list!
Cute little spot, amazing service. Small town, cozy feel. The beer was all very different and delicious. They didn't have a few beers we wanted to try which means I'll have to return in the future!
A great craft brewery with an excellent selection of quality beers. The sommelier was very friendly and knowledgeable about the various beverages on offer. Highly recommended.
A small brewery nestled in the heart of Carleton Place. Liam was amazing… very informative and pleasant. Highly recommend a flight of beers to get a taste of them all. Beers were excellent… Something for everyone!
Came across this place by chance while visiting family in Carlton place. This is such a little hidden gem. Welcoming owners. Great beers. Pool table and games. And excellent merch. Please stop by if you're in town. You won't be disappointed. Tell the boys April and Mike from pei sent ya!
Adam is a great bartender / owner. Knowledgeable, funny and informative. Had a great first visit after trying Dr Feelgood at a pub, and enjoyed a number of their other offerings as well. I'll certainly be back to try some of the seasonal beers! Thanks
Their beers are definitely solid and well-balanced. Lots of IPAs on the docket, but they all pretty well stand on their own. The vibe of the brewery itself is also very warm and companionable. I felt welcomed and comfortable here! Lovely place all around.

A pleasant place to spend time at with your kids. Clean washrooms. Nice playground, splashpad. The only drawback is some people smoking near kids and other people. No signs with ban for smoking, no information shields prohibiting smoking on the beach. Usually I’m not comfortable with being that strict lady that enforces the smoking ban law without having been authorized.
This is a great park, it has a nice little beach area that was full of families having fun. There is also a splash pad for the kids. public washrooms that were reasonably clean. lots of parking. I personally enjoyed the quieter area just off the side to the beach, you can see it in detail through my included photos.
Small but well serviced public beach in Carleton Place just next to the Canoe Club. Decent sized water park for younger kids. Lifeguard on duty watching over a small section at the North end of the beach. Plenty of room even on a Civic holiday Monday for physical distancing. Public washrooms by the Canoe club and a French Fry shack by the parking lot. Good shaded areas and plenty of parking.
What a gem of a find. I was touring in Carleton Place and stopped here. There is a canoe club house, washroom facilities and across a kayakomat. Playstructure, swing sets and splash pad were a hit with my grandchild. Picnic tables available some in the shade. At the time, we were not permitted to go swimming as the water was not safe to swim in.
Amazing place with everything you need. Kids slides and swings, splash pad, and small beach! All in one place. My kids love it.
Great park with beach, playground, splash pad and park benches. Great for babies
Fun, and the fireworks show was incredible. Nice place to relax and cool off.
Splash pad, beach, life guards, bathrooms, running water, play structure, open grass areas, shade. It's clean. We kill 4 hours here with kids easily.

Cute little market with very friendly vendors! Everyone does such amazing things. These flowers I got were stunning 😍
Drove by this and had to stop. New to the area and it was wonderful to stock up on some local produce!
Our farmers market is fabulous. With all the fresh vegetables and fruits we always have a good choice. Other vendors sell homes food's. Yummy
Very happy we have a farmers market here in Carleton Place. It is not big BUT what you buy is very good. I particularly fell in love with the food from the CP Syrian kitchen. Their food is fantastic, the tabouli salad is not overly spiced with ingredients and oil. The grape leaves with rice are so tasty, also NOT over spiced and soak in oil. The baklava is amazing and not overpowered with sugar 😍. Very easy of the stomach. Now that I have discovered this amazing little secret, I get there early, so I buy for the week, if it lasts that long. I look forward to the following 🙂 weekend.
Highly impressed! I really wish I would’ve gotten names of the stands, we purchased some garlic, green beans, golden and purple beets, maple syrup, fresh muffins, baked bread and cookies. So delicious!
Lovely local market with friendly vendors. Picked up some unique products today 🥰
So many great things to look at and buy, so many kind and welcoming faces. Ice lived here for almost 4 years and had never stopped in but I decided to this weekend. Got some jam and a dish cloth, so happy we went. The only issue for us was how many dogs were there but that isn't the farmers markets fault! I just felt that it wasn't the right place for dogs as they were jumping and hyper - as to be expected! Overall great little farmers market, can't wait to go back
Early in the market season, many plants, not many vegetables when I was there

Bought a lot of items today at this store (suit for my little ones 6yrs old and 9 yrs old, a lot of toys ) . The owner gave us so much discount. He was very polite and organized. Thank you so much. Will definitely go back again.
A great little place to buy clothes, strollers, and other kid stuff. Prices are always lower than priced and there are plenty of great quality bargains if you are willing to look. However, this is not a chain, and if you have lofty expectations you should go elsewhere and pay loads more
I phoned to inquire for a convertible car seat by Maxi Cosi "Jool" because Babies r Us does not have it readily available. The lady on the other line does not even know what product line they have. Almost 3-4m min. and still have no clue what I was talking about. when I asked what was price they were selling their convertible car seats for, she went on and said they don't say the price over the phone. FML! I told her most prices are readily available online. The reason I asked was to find out if it might be something close to the Maxi Cosi Jool I was looking for, just to help her narrow it down. She sounds like a bottom end retailer with a nature of a sceptic from the third world shanty surroundings. I wouldn't recommend this place!
This place is so full of products, you can hardly see anything. It reminds me of a garage sale. Most of the items are really poorly made. The brands you do recognize are priced much higher than Amazon or Wal Mart. The first time we came they weren't open when the sign said they were.
There choices are decent. Prices are less compared to retail store. We brought few items from them and overall happy!
This is a strange store. I have lived in this community for 6 years and I have never seen anyone go into this store. Most times it's closed. Same items seen in the windows, wondering what they sell?
Always have stock available.
Great place to get cloths , strollers & toys for kids

Great beer and vibes! Make sure to get some cans to go too 🍻
Nice friendly place and good beer. Their Kolsch is one of the best I’ve had but it’s only ever there about every 5th time I’ve visited. Five stars if this beer was available year round.
Excellent venue serving a variety of delicious beers brewed on site; a seasonal food truck allows patrons to enjoy meals and beverages on the charming and attractive patio. Knowledgeable and friendly staff who always make you feel like family. Prost!
A great place to meet friends and make new ones, plus friendly dogs on occasion, over a selection of excellent beer. There’s a rotating schedule of seasonal beer with a choice of some returning favourites and new recipes created by their talented brewmaster, along with the two excellent flagship beer available year round.
Heard around town that some businesses in Carleton Place were choosing to hire temporary foreign workers for service jobs and was so sad to see Braumeister is on the list — I used to buy their beer all the time and felt proud to be shopping local. I’ll be choosing the other breweries in town, businesses that hire local, from now on.
Great spot for tasty beers and snacks! Patio is lovely and close to lots of bike trails too.
Excellent brewery in Carleton Place. RIght on the bike path with a nice sitting area and patio.
Delicious beer, friendly atmosphere, and the patio is dog friendly!

We bought our wine there and it was very good. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone! One of the owners (Barry) offered to take the wine out to my truck
Unfortunately after using this location for 10 years we are taking our business elsewhere. We were treated with extreme sarcasm and a very rude employee. Not sure this new employee can handle more than one appointment a day. We've never witnessed this kind of behavior and don't plan to again.
If I could give zero stars I would. Their clerk made an error on our invoice (in our favour) and the owner wants us to pay for her mistake. We refused and she (chantal) said "take your business elsewhere". How rude - first to expect a customer to pay for her staff's mistake (40$) , and then tell us to take our business elsewhere.
The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. If you go in to choose a wine they will help you immensely by offering their personal and professional advice and when its bottling time they are so helpful! I will be a repeat customer for years to come after 3 perfect experiences
Just finished bottling and labeling my wedding wine. Fast, easy service, very lovely staff, the wine looks perfect, the sample was amazing. So happy and recommending this place to everyone who needs event wine or just wants a good time making some.
Very friendly, professional staff. Chantal always friendly and very helpful . I would recommend this place yo anyone that wants to make wine.
I love coming here to pick up things I need for meadmaking, the staff is always very helpful and is usually willing to order what I need if it's something they normally carry. I do need to drive further for anything beyond the basics, but they don't specialize in mead, they normally help folks make wine. They also have basic beermaking kits and supplies.
Very friendly and efficient service. And deliccciousss great quality wines ! (-: thank you, Mary-Ann and Wendy
