One of the best casino in the world. It’s not huge one, and I went in cold winter, not many guests. some dealers are very humorous! I play regular blackjacks, min20and 50 tables. So I don’t know about the machines. There are some huge windows next to the tables, super nice river view! Players are much less mean than Macao for sure. Dealers are kind and funny like some friendly casinos in Vegas. Casino size is larger than European ones. I m sure I will come again in warm weathers.
Beautiful place, with awesome ocean views. The compulsive gambling is as sad to see as anywhere else. Free drinks were nice
The security guards always had poker faces. On the first two days, they let me in without any issues with my small backpack. However, on the third day, they suddenly took about 10 minutes to call and check, only to tell me that my backpack was “too big” to enter and that I had to store it. This made no sense—if it was acceptable on the first two days, why not today? It’s completely inconsistent and ridiculous. I won’t be coming back again! On top of that, it’s not a place where you can win—the deals aren’t great, and the atmosphere feels overly nerdy.
Very limited machine types when you've been to Vegas... Would love to see multiplayer Black Jack machines with virtual dealers.
Wandered around the grounds for a while trying to suck in some of that philanthropic ambience....I felt it, and went inside. There's a lot of poker machines and I'm a frugal kind of gambler. The treasury department suggests "Gamble Responsibly"....and I do, but when it comes to drinkin'!!%?? I had a couple of beers and lunch, the young lady at the bar was very courteous, helpful and kind.
Great hotel, fires outside at night looking over the river, great food, spa, and casino is small but fun
Small casino, but entertaining nonetheless! There's two areas to park, one is covered and paid ($6) and the others are a bit of a walk and free. There is a ton of slot machines, but not many games tables (blackjack, roulette, craps). There seemed to be a lot of people present for a Sunday evening, but we managed to find a spot. Won a whole $3, covered half the price of parking ;)
Cute casino, not very large but has all you need, at least if your not a big player. Went a Saturday evening when google said it was very busy but still had an easy time finding a spot to park in the 6$ covered section. They have slot machines for all tastes. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Still one of our favorite art galleries. It had been several years since our last visit. The staff are super welcoming and very knowledgeable about their artists. Always a pleasure and a feast for the eyes as you walk through the gallery.
It was an INCREDIBLE discovery to see such peak Canadian talent represented at this beautiful gallery. The owner and their colleagues were exceptionally enjoyable to talk with and discuss many things even outside the artists and their work. Learning about the artists, the gallery and exploring the space were all top tier. Easily one of my best gallery experiences ever.
Although we don’t know much about painting, who wouldn’t enjoy beautiful things when given the chance? We stayed here for nearly an hour and are grateful to the owner for providing such a wonderful platform that brings artists and visitors closer together. 🌹🌹🌹
This gallery has an extraordinary selection of Canadian art. The staff are exceptional - professional, knowledgeable and kind. It is an absolute pleasure to visit and we look forward to returning!
It was the best two hours of our stayed in Charlevoix! Wow! It was just great to see all the wonderful work of different artists ! Very colourful paintings and the staff can inform you as little you want to know to as much you want to know. Very polite and knowledgeable. We highly recommend this gallery to anyone and worthwhile to make a detour if it’s not on your way. Bibiane & Barry
This is an exceptional gallery- wonderful quality of art, comfortable gallery space, and welcoming and knowledgeable owners who make you feel valued as a client. Highly recommended if you are in the Charlevoix region.
We had such an amazing experience at this gallery. I can’t say enough good things about it. The artwork was of amazing quality and a huge selection. The owner was extremely nice, helpful and of a great kindness. In fact, all the staff was like that. My wife and I purchased a piece and promised ourselves to come back for more. To the owner, un grand merci pour votre temps, gentillesse et franchise. Vos histoires et connaissances des pièces étaient super et très apprécié. Strongly recommended for all. Merci Carl et Beverly
We were there in July and bought two beautiful paintings. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable and the gallery has an incredible selection of painters from Quebec and Ontario. A wonderful experience and a highlight of our trip to Charlevoix!

What a cool experience! Steak was very good, as was the desert. The charm is visiting this unique "home" from the prohibition era transformed into a restaurant. Unique corridors, hidden rooms, and even the dance area itself was easily "hidden" when needed. It even has a connection to Elvis.. well worth the visit
The steak itself was okey, nothing mind blowing, especially for the price. The salad, dessert and the mocktail were pretty good tho. The house was interesting to visit.
Today we visited the hidden rooms of this Prohibition-era house. It's fabulous! Don't ever miss it!!! Thanks to Dave for being our guide and sharing the history and behind-the-scenes of the Maison Du Bootlegger. A huge thank you to the owner, Johanne, a wonderful and lovely woman, who has brought this house back to life. Here you can eat, drink, visit, and dance to the sound of rock music! (Her dog, Priscilla, is so beautiful too) Johanne, thank you for this experience. Unfortunately, we didn't eat or drink... next time we come back to Quebec! Johanne, we look forward to seeing you in Milan!!!
Very cool spot. Food was great. Evening was awesome. Music was fun. Took a little long to get served, but was worth the wait.
Wow!!! This was an experience we never expected. My wife and I were roadtipping for our 20th anniversary, heading out to see the whales. Looking for some good food I stumbled apon this crazy must visit establishment. (So did Elvis) We do not speak a lick of french, we relied to make a reso but we could only get 6pm and we were not going to make it on time. So we just showed up at 630. Downstairs (main entrance) I asked for a ta le for 2. I was told NO. I asked how long... No . Okay so we were about to leave and I said let me just poke my head up. Lucky me I was able to get the last 2 seats. Not realizing it was dinner, tour and a show. Well... we ate (very well) open fire stakes and ribs!!! The we had an awsome tour ( all in French) but we laughed when we were told to. At the end our tour guide gave us an independent coles notes in English. We were so happy we got a table. It turned out to be a highlight for sure. We highly recommend this prohibition style establishment.
What a great experience!! The food was all right, nothing spectacular. The ambiance was lively. The guided tour was entertaining and interesting . Our waitress, Linda, by far made the visit even more memorable. Such a wonderful and kind person!
We had an amazing time!!! You really really need to go here!!! Everything, from the drinks to the appetizers to the main course to the desert... entertainment and tour of the house! I'm in awe!!! Splurge on the baby back ribs!! Like DO NOT PASS the opportunity to savor the best, fall off the bone, tasty, home cooked, heavenly Baby back ribs!!!! I had the venison and am sooooo picky on the freshness and cooking time. It was perfect 🥰 like melt in my mouth perfect!! Desert was yummy and my French kiss and night cap crowned everything perfectly 🥰 💞
Very historical location, we had a tours around the house, back to the prohibition, good service with Sarah we recommend, so fun we had there with live band, dancing & singing 🎶 🎵 and funny hat provided by resturant that makes ambiance very extraordinary 🤪🤣🤩

A place for artists to be artists. Wonderful commitment to education and artistry. Go check out a concert!
Although I consider my experience at the DF valuable, I have to inform others on the reality of it. I slept with 5 people in a room that was so cold I had to sleep fully dressed. The food was so terrible that most students were rationing groceries from the nearby town. Some “mentor” musicians were frequently condescending in a way that demotivates young people. I had a long journey to the DF and did not feel welcome. Considering we paid tuition for this (certainly enough for food & proper bedding), I can’t recommend it to my colleagues. Some staff and mentors did go the extra mile to spend quality time with students and I am very grateful for that.
Amazing place! Amazing view! There are small individual cabins built for art students on top of the hill, this is where the Muses live.
Stunning grounds overlooking the St. Lawrence. We spent a couple of hours enjoying the sculptures, the views, the landscaping, and of course, the sounds of music as students were practicing in small huts all over the place.
beautiful spot inside and out. great show
Beautiful peaceful stop on the road. Lots of sculptures to look at, with a fantastic view of the river. You can park along the road and walk up or just drive up. They have regular concerts and even free yoga classes on Saturday mornings.
Le Domaine Forget is a music and dance Academy, as well as a yearly International Music Festival located in Saint-Irénée, Charlevoix, Quebec. This gorgeous domain with several buildings and sculpture gardens overlooks the St Laurent River is managed by a non-profit organization. A Concert Hall opened in 1996 offering a variety of programs - (refer to website). Even if there are no venues available, it’s worth a walk through the property for the Sculptures, Architecture and picturesque views.

A private garden, owned by the Cabot family, is only open a few times a year. We were lucky to get space on the English tour. Book early. The English style gardens, consisting of mostly Thuja occidentalis, precisely clipped into tight hedges, an exquisite Japanese garden and tea house. Water cleverly flows through the garden in delightful ways. Statues peek through openings on a long axis to invite exploration through the various “rooms”.
Beautiful serene space. Thoughtful construction. So wonderful that the Cabot family has allowed public access to their grounds. Great that proceeds from the tour are used for ecological education for young people in Charlevoix area. We enjoyed another bout of spring due to cooler temps and found flowers just emerging that had long finished in my home area olin Ontario. Loved it. Willvisit again.
This is fabulous. Only open four days a year with signups in February. Watch the documentary on Netflix and then sign up. Not to be missed.
This is a PRIVATE home and a PRIVATE garden and we were so thankful to the Cabots for sharing it with the public 4 days each year. We were able to purchase tickets online the day they became available and plan an entire vacation around this one garden visit. It was absolutely worth the 30 hour round trip drive to experience it in person. It is so great that the funds raised from ticket sales go directly back into the community to fund the Port-au-Saumon Ecological Center summer Camp Program!
Beautiful and well designed and maintained garden. We went in August for the English tour. They have overbooked the year before when they opened their website for reservations and were flooded with requests. So their tours were running back to back. I wish they would have let us roam around some areas freely a little longer but because of the tightness of the schedule around many tours they had to move from one area to the next to free it for the next group. We still had a wonderful time. Weather was perfect. The Japanese gardens were a delight.
I'm giving a 5-Star review just based on the documentary. And also because it's the only way to comment on the ignorance of the 1-Star raters who seem incapable of grasping the concept of PRIVATE PROPERTY. Instead of gratitude that the garden is open four weekends a year, they complain about it, clearly not understanding the concept. I can't wait to visit.
This is as good as it gets in the gardening world. The extent and variety of plantings/settings is fabulous.
One of the most unique gardens in North America. Terrific 2.5 hour tour. Kept groups separated enough that views were not disturbed. Utterly amazing!

Small cozy art museum that has a nice collection of whimsical folk art. When I visited, they ran Riopelle exhibition that was quite interesting.. Nice. Place to visit if you are in Charlevoix region near La Malbaie.
Its a good place with art and painting. You can see some old telephones and history about the paintings and charlevoix.
Very enjoyable exhibits and collection. Well worth a visit or two during your stay.
Very nice place, lot's of paintings by renowned artists. 15$ to enter, Worth every penny.
Beautiful local paintings, saw a wonderful glass art exhibit. Nice museum for a quick drop in and really nice park next door to it.
Stop by for an amazing view of the bay. We were here too early so couldn't see the museum or the nearby church.
This is a little gem for anyone interested in the art and history of the Charlevoix area.
Informative and enjoyable. Many displays presented in both French and English.

Great MTB trails. $15 a day would be easier to take if the porta-potties were maintained. But the trailers are very good and some are seriously challenging. Tres bien!
Excellent for Xcountry skiing!!!! Wow
Beautiful trails for cross country skiing
Great family xcountry ski centre.
(Translated by Google) If you are passing through the Malbaie area, Les Sources Joyeux is the best place for cross-country skiing. It is also possible to snowshoe there, immersed in nature. The landscapes there are very pretty (see photos). An inner tube slide is also available for the youngest. The prices are reasonable and clearly indicated on the website. Cross-country skiing = $20/adult, Snowshoeing = $13/adult, etc. The reception chalet is very well equipped and offers everything you need to prepare your skis before the hike. Lockers that can be locked are available on site. There are also plenty of tables available. In addition, the cross-country skiing and snowshoe trails are numerous and varied in difficulty. The trails are very well maintained and the directions are clear. A fire is kept lit in the middle of the site as well as a wood-heated chalet to take a break, warm up and snack. The places were clean and the service was impeccable. The only problem for travelers needing to change is that there didn't seem to be any changing rooms so I had to change in the toilet stalls, which was sub-optimal.

We went to the night experience after dark. It was a fun quizz that they use to present information about astronomy. After this, there is a short break and, if the sky allows it, a night time star seeing. They have a telescope and can take high quality pictures. They review the sky and pointed the constellation with a laser. Very professional animation. I just loved it. Beware! Don’t bring young kids because it can be long for them and it is past their sleep time. One in our group had a tantrum and made it hard for everyone to hear what was said or enjoy (until they recluse themselves after the first half of the activity).
Very unfortunate experience. We drove all the way from Montreal, partly to visit the Observatory. We had bought and paid our tickets online 3 weeks in advance. When we arrived on-site, 15min before our scheduled guided tour, everything was closed, nobody was present. We tried to call and left multiple messages, trying to reach someone. We finally left after waiting 20min past our scheduled time. We have not received any news from the Observatory. Disappointment is too weak of a term to express what we felt.
We went to the evening session - and the quiz was fun and informative for the whole family. Even if you choose to not participate, you still learn from the quiz questions. Felicia our history was excellent in presenting in English and French and showed passion and professionalism in both languages. Then we were lucky enough that it was a clear night so we were outside to learn about the constellations and how they are able to take images of the stars with their powerful telescope. And a cool laser wand to highlight which cluster of stars they are talking about. Felicia and her colleague Frederick had so much passion in the presentation - it is impressive because they do the presentation every night but you feel as if it’s the first few times they are talking about it. Note that because of the translation to both languages, it does end pretty late (past 11) in case you have young kids. But still highly recommended as you will leave feeling a little bit smarter :)
Really enjoyed the session but the presentation was fully in French so it was a little harder to follow that piece as my French vocabulary isn't quite there! Still very affordable and friendly staff! Worth noting there are plenty of other presentations and exhibits translated to English plenty of learning to be done. There is a quite interesting bit on how a meteor hit close to the site and how it was discovered! The site itself was an old golf clubhouse converted to the observatory, note we did a day visit but they are open to night visits, make sure to reserve your time!!
This is a small museum but packed with interesting exhibits. The best part was the evening session with staff viewing the sky with a powerful telescope. They presented in English and French.
Our first presentation (meteorite), the person (I'm sorry, I forgot your name!) explained us in a very didactic and complete way, with some pieces to touch and see closer. Our second presentation (Charlevoix impact!) nicely given by Marie-Soleil, showed us the science and story behind the impact of the meteorite. Both presented the activity in English and their interactions with my son were very nice. Unfortunately we couldn't attend the Soirée de découverte du ciel étoilé because the sky was cloudy, but we will plan to go and try again this summer. Thank you for this amazing activity you've provided to my son!
Will definitely recommend. A great learning experience.

If you're driving through and want to make a stopover to refresh and relax then this is the place to go. Beautifully landscaped garden with a few sculptures dotted around. There is a viewing deck beyond the falls and quite a few sculptures dotted around the garden. It was raining when we visited but on a good day it's a gr8 picnic spot. Parking is available but is limited and entry is free.
Cute little free garden. Little trail takes you past metal creatures and a waterfall. Ding Dong!
Awesome park, parking across the street from the entrance. Loved the hidden statues and the waterfall. amazing scenery from the plateau.
Beautiful flowers, trees and a mini waterfall, all in the same garden! A quick walk through, or you can sit and read a book. Just above the bay area, there is a lookout over the water. Worth the visit everytime!
Tiny garden with flowers, trees, a small cascading water point and bells you can ring (very loud though, be ready!). Well kept and cute. The full visit takes less than 1h however. If you are driving close, could be great to stop by but I would not plan a trip specifically to go there.
Went to the parc as a side stop to let our little boy of 18 months old to walk. Its well cared for and fun. Also at the end of the walk there is a deck with a stunning view with picnic table. Part of the trail closer to a running stream is not stroller friendly. But definitely a pleasant little stop that you can enjoy the tranquility and beauty.
There is also a play structure at this site for entertaining little ones. At first my youngest was not enthused about visiting the garden but there is an activity to find various sculptures he enjoyed. Recommend a visit of 30 mins to one hour if not having a picnic. Garden path would not be suitable to those with mobility challenges (rocks and roots, ups and downs).
This is a great little park, nice waterfall, cute sculptures, cloches you can ring, views, and trail to walk.

We just returned from a great week in La Malbaie to celebrate 40 years of marriage. We stopped here at the beginning of the week and the staff was very helpful in telling us where to go in three national parks and other places to enjoy. Suggest that anyone stop there to help get the most out of any visit.
Friendly and helpful, they showed us places and routes we might not otherwise have found.
Knowledgeable staff who already had a nice list of children friendly activities.
Good location, good info, friendly staff
Excellent help and ideas
Great helpful staff, so many brochures and informations.

Writing a review on behalf of a family member’s recent visit to Charlevoix Region. A must stop/visit for all mushroom lovers! On the day visited (mid-September) not busy, given a personal tour of the grounds. The young lady was friendly, informative & interesting. Happy about products purchased.
If you love mushrooms 🍄 you gotta come here! I had an awesome tour from Jules (which they do in English and French!), and he showed us how they grow their oyster mushrooms! Which is super interesting ☺ They have loads of incredible products that all tasted absolutely amazing! I'd definitely grab a bag of their fresh mushrooms if I were you. I made pizza that was to die for with them! 🍕 😋 FYI the dogs name is shadow, she was just the sweetest! So adorable just following us around to get pets on the tour Don't forget to make a wish in the "magic mushroom"! I wished to find a chanterelle on my hike and I actually found one! Might be coincidence, but I'll just believe it's magic ✨ Thank you thank you thank you for the awesome time and food! You were all so kind 🖤
The owner kindly explained the whole process to us and provided product tasting. A really lovely place to visit
The tour, which was given by a young, intelligent boy was short but informative. The tasting was lots of fun. Their products are delicious. We left with a jar of pickled mushrooms that we ate later that week, and I'm still looking forward to using the jar of spicy mushroom pesto!
Actually an unbelievable stop. Learn how mushrooms are grown, and Learn how to cook them properly! You won't believe it. Staff is better than unbelievable. Thanks you!
Delicious products! I absolutely love their marinated mushrooms. Marinade in the jars can be used also for salad dressing (just add a bit of salt pepper to taste). It’s delicious ❤️

Had a lovely time. Fun tasting the cheese. Got the wine tasting and sat outside enjoying the cheese. Staff was so friendly and helpful
We loved the area and setting, however did not enjoy our experience inside the store nor the products. Sadly this reflects in our review and we say sadly because the Google ratings are quite good.
Wonderful activity to do if you are a wine and cheese lover ! They let you taste 4 lovely wines/limoncello and you can pick out some local cheeses to enjoy with it as well. Definitely recommend as a stop when in Baie St Paul :)
You really can’t find a better representation of Charlevoix region. The grounds are beautiful, the cheese and wines are paired perfectly and the stars of the farm - the sheep - are cute and lovely. I could easily spend a couple of hours there -and I did!
Such a beautiful place with delicious products. I especially love the spreadable cheese and their creamy blue cheese.
I love cheese and have had some excellent ones in several countries, but the special extra-aged version of La Tomme d'Elles (firm cow-sheep combination) I had here in June 2019 was absolutely the best cheese I've ever tasted.
The experience could've been much better if we were able to taste the cheese before buying (due to covid, understandable we can't). The gentle who greeted us at the door was very nice. The lady by the counter however wasn't. She seemed annoyed when I asked her infos about the cheeses they sell.
Cheeses are so good and sheeps are so cute
