This is a very pretty area to visit if you are ever in Creston British Columbia. The Kootenay River runs through this valley on its way into the United States and through the Middle of Bonners Ferry Idaho. Enjoy the many paths and all of the wildlife while you're here and don't forget your camera, the scenery is amazing. As always leave it better than you found it and enjoy 😉.
Nice trails for biking or hiking. Maps provided at the conservation office located here.
Pretty green valley with ponds, the Kootenai River. A nice drive and walking area.
Mosquitoes hatchery’ it was the worst hike I’ve encountered’
After a long day of driving and before having dinner, we spent a couple hours at the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Center. Although the Center itself had closed for the day, we enjoyed wandering the trails, watching the birds and seeing the beautiful scenery.
Best ever!!! Amazing area and well maintained. Great birding and a great place to get away for a few hours
First time taking the long way around! So worth it! Fall colours, frogs, beavers, otters, birds, fresh air, and friends! Highly recommend.
Great place to go with the family. Fun setups for the kids. Canoe tours are awesome. So much learning here. Great walking paths. Stroller friendly and all well designed and easy to walk on.

I like Kokanee very much!! I was never closer to the Brewery as today. (Scotties RV Park) But unfortunatly the store is closed :(:(. Kind regards from a Swiss Kokanee Costumer
You should enter the second gate if you come from east area(Kingsgate). Thanks for kind staffs and fast unloading.
I bought a six pack of kokanee cans at maverik in Mead Washington last night. I have a sensitivity to soaps and detergents and there was way too much soaps and or detergents in that beer!!! Now Im suffering the consequences. Please have your staff and crew rinse and scrub away the soaps you use much more thoroughly!! There shouldnt be any soap in beer!! Do your employees know the difference between concentrate soaps and non concentrate??? I can tell you it was the most rediculous amount of soaps/detergents ive ever consumed in beers. Get it together people!!!!
The brewery has a new-to-me beer and gear store with excellent hosts!
I'll be drinking other brands of beer until they stop flying that hideous flag beside our beautiful Maple Leaf on their roof.
Good place to go beer brewing tour here. But sometimes Sunday does not have tour because not enough stuff.
Very much enjoyed it. It was awesome to see how it becomes a beer loo
I just yesterday went to jimmies liquor store to buy a 24 pack of kokanee beer. Just under $55 out the door. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Bought pilsner beer instead. Almost $8.00 cheaper. You really need to address this!!!

Amazing atmosphere and wine. Great way to buy local Canadian products. Staff were amazing. Shout out to our server Lorna who was such a friendly and amazing person explaining the wines beautiful areas of Creston in detail. Keep up the good work.
Was a very cold feeling walking into the tasting room. Donna, the taster lady, was just going through the motions and explaining the wines like she was reading it from a sheet. 4 wines, 5 minutes tops. Felt unwanted and rushed. Bought 1 wine as it was good, but the staff are not personable. I suggest if you like the wines just buy them and skip the interaction with the winery.
Skimmerhorn Winery in Creston is a fantastic destination for wine enthusiasts! The wine tasting experience was exceptional, offering a superb selection of wines that were truly enjoyable. The food was delicious and paired perfectly with the wines, enhancing the overall experience. The scenery from the patio is absolutely stunning, with beautiful views overlooking the valley and vineyards that create a serene and picturesque atmosphere.
Meat and cheese charcuterie ordered along with 3-glass wine flights. Very good. Beer available too for those who prefer the barley suds.
I love coming here every year when I visit my parents. The scenery is beautiful and I find this place to be very relaxing. I wish sangria was always on offer though and I miss when they used to have the full bistro for lunch. I think the wine tasting used to be free, but if I’m not mistaken I think they charge now for tastings.
What a lovely place to visit in Creston! We were fortunate to have a sunny day so we could sit on the patio and enjoy a fall day. The view from the patio is lovely with rolling hills stretching south to the border and the fall colours just starting. We had a wine tasting one afternoon and came back the next day for lunch. Lunch is tapas style with several very tasty small plates. The menu was farm to table so you could experience what the surrounding farms could offer. White wines were very nice, no red wines available when we visited. Definitely a place to return to on our next visit.
Absolutely lovely winery!! Their patio is dog friendly so we were super happy that my dogs were allowed to join us there for some wine tasting. They even brought out a bowl of water for them. Great wine too!!!
Amazing view from the shaded deck, overlooks vineyards, orchards, mountains. Food, wine, service was excellent. Can't wait to go again. Back again! Food and wine were out of this world as usual. Staff is the best there is! Very charming and fun, experts in their field. If you haven't been here you are missing out.

Wow! What a cool and well put together place to learn about Creston and area’s history. I love supporting little museums like this! Leave a good donation in the cash register when you go-these places run on donations!! Great little museum with a gift shop.
Cool small museum with lots of amazing old artifacts. The staff were helpful, the artifacts were amazing, and there was even lots of stuff outside! Coming to this small hidden place with basically no expectations, but with the expectations I had, it definitely past them. There was lots of rooms with old artifacts that people put a lot of time making and there were plenty of old cars outside to see like a ford T1 from 1921. Overall, if you are in Creston it is a nice small place to check out, very worthy of your time.
This is a cool place to take the kids while you're in Creston. It's a look back in time and how the people that called this place home survived and the ways they made their living. The old miners tunnels, railroad and lumber machinery is mind boggling to think this is all they had and the ingenuity that they had to build these things. Now look at how modern technology has advanced from where it began. As always leave it better than you found it and enjoy 😉.
Great place to check out if you are into local history, interesting arrowhead collection, beautiful building. Brenda was a great guide, learned a lot about the valley’s history.
Well curated with extensive well documented collections. From indigenous history to quirky settlers to local World War contributions to everyday life were featured by a pleasant and knowledgeable guide.
Great musuem. Plus hiding from the heat wave
Nice relaxed stroll thru the exhibits. Tammy took the time to elaborate on some of the items. The brass band was an added bonus👍
We had a great visit to the Creston Museum, there are lots of well setup displays inside and outside the facility. They have a number of local treasures for you to explore. Local or a visitor take the time to stop in. We also had an excellent tour host as well.

Wide variety of weights and machines in the gym although it's geared a little more towards lighter workouts than hard core body building. The pool is epic for a small town and there's a steam room. The facility is clean, the staff are friendly and there are outdoor play areas as well as sport fields.
Workout space is great, equipment for all user levels, they have a platform with rouge weights if you want to get serious.
We were at the swimming pool recently. The staff was very friendly and spot on keeping an eye on people in the pool to make sure everyone was safe. Very impressive! The price is very fair. Great place to take kids if the weather won't let you play outdoors.
Great facility, clean and accessible change rooms; convenient location and variety activities for all ages
Great outdoor park, the kids really loved it. Slide had no weight limit 😁
We are so very fortunate to have such an amazing facility in our community. We spent hours in the pool with our grandchildren who are visiting from Alberta. The lifeguard staff are WONDERFUL. They are constantly walking/ counting and checking on the swimmers. They are obviously well trained so thank you for that. Our grandsons loved the Lazy River the most! My husband has also curled in this facility and enjoyed the experience immensely. So happy we live in this community.
This is a very nice facility. The playground outside is one of the nicest I've seen. My daughter thoroughly enjoys playing there. The pool area is nice. Unfortunately, the ice rink was closed for the season. So I will have to let you know how that is in the winter.
Great modern facility. Only wish they still had child minding. I'd go considerably more. Kids love it and the hot tub has a gorgeous view of outside. Kids can go in the pool independently by age 7.

Amazing experience!!! The team was super nice, we loved the wines especially the white ones! We did the tasting accompanied by a cheese and hummus plate which was pretty yummy! This was served in their yard which offered great relaxing sitting areas. Definitely a must when you go to Creston!
Lovely Winery, Gwen did an amazing job hosting us for a wine tasting - enjoying the Tére de Cuvée Sparkeling and Récolte Blanche with a lovely charcuterie plate. The view is amazing - so peaceful ❤️🤩
Eloise weas absolutely AMAZING. Solo Albertan touring the BC winery's and had to make this my first stop as we cannot get this maker in Alberta anymore. Felt so welcomed and was an inviting place. Tasting was outside and the conversations and information from Eloise was top notch. Of course I had to stock up to bring back home. All the tastings were extremely enjoyable. Thank you. Sad I wasn't able to do a tour but this experience was well worth the trip
Absolutely stunning winery located just outside Creston BC , top-notch quality wines and affordable. More than that, the service and overall customer guest experience was very warm, friendly and inviting. Family friendly, good for solos , or even groups. Cannot recommend enough ! Came for a quick tasting and stayed all afternoon enjoying the live music , sunshine and good vibes. Keep it up friends ! Y’all are crushing it.
A local gem! A beautiful winery offering tasting tours and everything you'd expect from a top-tier wine destination. The wine flight includes a selection of four wines of your choice—perfect for exploring different flavors. We enjoyed a delicious platter featuring an assortment of cheeses, cured meats, and hummus. I also loved the sweet plate with delightful macarons. They also offer a great selection of local beers and ciders.
A wonderful winery in a lovely setting, well worth a visit. We booked a tour and tasting with the winemaker himself, so nice! Also, don't miss their delicious cheese tray that you can buy and enjoy together with a delicious glass of wine.
We visited the winery with our dog on June 13th and were warmly greeted by Eloise. She led us through the tasting and was pleasant and knowledgeable. Everyone we met was very friendly. We highly recommend visiting this winery and enjoying the great wines!
Nice spot! We really enjoyed our wine tasting and the bottles we brought home with us. Next time I visit, I hope I can grab a snack on their beautiful patio.

Be sure to check the hours when they are open - and go to this amazing farm! Absolutely delicious cheeses!! There is a wonderful self guided tour. This is the land of happy cows! The calfs have their own Jolly Ball and will come right up to you. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Plan on spending some time here and be sure to take some cheese home with you!!
Watched the spring cow release. Amazing to see. Lots of people came out this April 2025. They're going to need to put up bleachers. We thought we wouldn't make it for the 11am release because we got caught in lines of cars coming to the event, but they graciously waited until 11:30 so everyone could get in.
I love the products and we are very lucky to have this in our small town. I had an unpleasant in-person experience with his staff member When buying ice cream with my kids. The cashier was impolite to both patrons before me and our group. Otherwise their milk Is delicious and the business seems as ethical as can be.
Wow! Great cheese. We picked up a Crowdie and a chunk of Nostrala, both very delicious. They have other dairy products available in their retail shop, including those from other local producers in the area. You can tour the barns and see the cows and the milking operation. The automated milking system is brilliant.
Excellent quality organic goodness. Milks, cheeses, meats, ice cream and best of all, baby cows! 🧡
I really enjoyed bringing my kids here for the self-guided tour. We all learned a lot. The highlight, of course, were the beautiful calves and I could not get my kids to leave 😂
Great place to see some cute cows and pick up some delicious local cheeses and dairy products!
Educational, beautifully run store with quality organic products and calf cuteness overload! We come every year.

A MUST SEE when in Creston! You can find the artist extraordinaire & gallery owner Sandy Kunze on site in the gift shop. Her large cavases, covered in lively acrylic paint, line the walls of the elevator breezeway & are in the gallery. Super friendly customer service. Great place to buy a special gift for someone or a keepsake for yourself. Be sure to check the website for hours of operation.
I love the little gift shop. It had so many nice things for sale. The gallery is very interesting but a little too pricey for my blood LOL
Great gallery with an interesting selection of local art (sculptures, paintings) and lovely jewelry. We stopped in on a whim and walked out with jewelry, a small sculpture and a Christmas ornament. Worth a stop if you are in or passing through Creston.
This is not just a place to visit! But an experience to take in! Even if you are not in the market for 'artsy' things (that are fab, by the way), go just for the experience! You will not be disappointed!
Don't usually visit galleries, but this one caught our eye driving by. Stone sculptures out front are really well done. Fun to browse. Looks like coffee could be enjoyed on the side patio. Thanks for letting us poke around.
Great place to see the work of local artistans
Wonderful Art Gallery located next (and also inside of!) an old grain elevator. Features work from tremendously talented artists and also a small coffee shop.
What great, quality art in a small space. So impressed with our visit with the young man who was tending the gallery that day! We will be back!

You can't go to Creston without stopping here first. They can tell you all the interesting places, hikes, shops, food.
We stopped here and our first impression was the view from the parking lot. It's gorgeous. The employees were very pleasant and helpful. They offered me some insight that I would have otherwise missed out on. I appreciate the time that was taken to help me better understand how the Creston Valley came to be.
Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. The centre was large and had good restrooms. The parking lot was a kettle difficult to access, but large enough for our rv to turn around.
Lots of ideas for hikes around the valley. Lots of history available to check out as well! Small hint of what I took out here!
What a beautiful welcoming place for visitors to Creston Valley. The main level has a large parking lot for guests with RVs, lots of brochures and maps, along with knowledgable staff. The downstairs can be reached by a staircase, or a gravel parking lot on the east side. The local rock and lapidary club rents space down there for meetings and for lapidary work. Beautiful setup and a great service to both locals and visitors
Very informative. Great place to find out more about the Creston Valley and surrounding areas. Within the last month or two (October or November 2023) artspace has moved into the visitor centre
Kowledgeable, interested caring people always add the secret sauce to any experience. Both Amy and Aaron did just that on my recent stop. Every time people take the time to share we learn a little more about our World, how it works and our many many available options. I was thrilled to learn that many Creston businesses flourished in spite of Covid 19. People stayed home, supported local business and got re-acquainted. Knowing this made by day. I also received the hiking trail info I was seeking and about the local wineries and where to find a place that offered "Upick" options. Our exchange of ideas was inspiring. Thankyousomuch.
My husband was tagged for random COVID testing crossing at the border. The visito center explained the process and had public wifi of high enough quality to connect to the Zoom call for the test observation.

Redbird Winery in Creston is a super fun little winery that should not be missed! We had a wonderful tasting experience, enjoying a delightful selection of wines. What made our visit even more special was their unique ciders, made from local pears and apples, which were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was charming, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, ensuring a perfectly lovely experience.
One of the best vineyards I’ve ever visited. The wine was incredible, it’s run by a young family, Rémi was incredibly kind, courteous and attentive. Many of the grapes and wines were not what I would traditionally choose, and the wines had so much flavour that I truly enjoyed and purchased wines I wouldn’t usually have. As a British Columbian with French Canadian roots, I so appreciated this young Québécois family choosing to grow and produce fantastic wines in our province. Merci beaucoup à la famille Cardinal, et à Rémi pour jaser et pour nous accueillir! Je vais certainement commander plus de vos fantastiques vins, et j’espère vous visiter à Creston encore. Santé!
If you have a chance, stop in and meet Remy! A beautiful location and wonderful family owned winery. I really enjoyed tasting the wine and hearing about the past and future of this winery. The pinot gris was delicious! I'll absolutely be back and I'm even considering ordering more online.
Great wine, lovely view and wonderful team. The wine tasting is informative of the wine and the vineyards. Love the wine🍷
Very nice addition to the wine scene in Creston. Shannon and Remy have done a great job of creating a relaxing atmosphere at their new tasting room and have some great wines and ciders on offer.
Absolutely amazing service! Nikki was so wonderful to chat with, knowledgeable and welcoming. The atmosphere is romantic and relaxed on the outside porch with a lovely view, and the staff were kind and very welcoming. Super enjoyable experience. Couldn't leave without stocking up on the Sparkling Rose, the Piquette, and a few Ciders. Thank you Red Bird for a lovely afternoon!
We stopped in recently for a tasting, and enjoyed it thoroughly! Family run, quaint, beautiful, and lovely folks to chat with! Very personal experience and we love supporting local, hard working people....and delicious wines and ciders! A must to do while in Creston!
