Watching the opening and closing of the bridge was so exciting. I watched the large stream ship going through the Locke. This is my first time viewing this process. When you are in the Welland, St Catherines area, go and see it. You can search online for the times the ships pass through the Locke. Everyone one should see this.
Watching at the lock 3 Welland Canals Centre with 3 viewing levels to watch the ships, barges, boats rise 42 feet in 12 minutes is fantastic! 8 locks, 326 feet in 30ish miles is impressive! Tons of easy access parking too and ship arrival schedules online to time your visit.
It's always interesting to see the ships go through the locks from various levels. The view from the Lock 7 lookout is pretty spectacular. The ship gets lowered or raised depending on the direction it is going. It's so amazing to watch.
The posters around the inside give you all the data. The big board tells you the ship schedule. The people at the front desk can answer questions and give recommendations about the town. A good early stop.
Great place to watch the ships pass through thr locks. The young lady at the visitor center was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for all the info!
They have the kissing rock. Beautiful memories
Great place for viewing large ships. Just wish the bike trail was closer to the canal. Unfortunately Lock 5 doesn't have a viewing platform.
Went to Lock 7 with our 5 kids and saw both a northbound and southbound ship in the locks. It was so cool and a great way to spend 45 minutes. The young woman in the museum/shop was also super-friendly. Definitely worth a visit and make sure to look online to make sure you are there when a laker is coming through.

My first experience at Short Hills. Our trail was well-marked. It was an exciting and scenic 4-hour adventure. Can't wait to go back!
Had a great hike at Short Hills today. No ticks in late May but I still did wear spray and long sleeves just in case. Conditions were good - horses chewed up some of the trail likely after all the rain we have had but it’s manageable and only one spot on the Swayze Loop. Swayze Falls was dry, but the Terrace Creek falls had some water going. Super quiet and a great morning.
There is a decent amount of free parking with additional parking on the road. There is a bathroom in the one parking lot it seems to be open year round. They have alot of hiking trails there, you could hike for 20k and not see the same trail twice. Swayze falls is very beautiful, but does dry up quite a bit in the summer. You can walk up the creek and see the falls from down below with is really nice. Makes a perfect place for a picnic. Trail can get quite muddy, but lots of fun.
My favourite local hiking spot. If you deviate from the main trail you can find yourself exploring some really cool areas. Hikes can last from 1 hour to several depending on where you decide to go. I love coming here every summer for my cardio. I highly recommend wearing long pants and long sleeved apparel aswell as hiking boots if you veer away from the main trail as ticks are quite prevalent. It can also get fairly muddy after a rainfall. Have fun! And always check yourself afterwards! Happy hiking!
After hearing from multiple friends who enjoy hiking that Short Hills Provincial Park is the best place to go, I finally decided to visit last year. Unfortunately, Apple Maps led us to the middle of a road. After driving around for a while, we gave up and went to a familiar spot instead. Determined to try again, we revisited Short Hills last week. When the same thing happened, I checked Google Maps and quickly realized the issue: I hadn’t entered the correct parking lot. Once I entered ‘Parking Lot A’ into my device, we arrived without any trouble. Despite the initial setbacks, I am extremely disappointed with all the potential hikes I missed out on over the past year. Short Hills is undoubtedly the best place for avid hikers in the area, not crowded with tourists like some other popular hiking spots. With an abundance of trails, you can use the AllTrails app to decide the distance and route of your hike (follow me on AllTrails, Scooter Nagy). I highly recommend giving Short Hills Provincial Park a visit; you won’t be disappointed by the beautiful trails and serene environment.
Started coming here years ago to tackle all 7 trails. completed. Now I am bring my grandkids here to do the same. love the views. different levels of difficulty in paths. Ive seen wild turkeys, skunks, hawks, deer among others. Can't wait to go back!
While hiking the Bruce Trail from end to end we inevitably came thru the park. We have liked it a lot. The meandering creek flowing at the base of the sweeping hills gave us such a pleasant feeling. We didn't explore the other trails that are in the park, but we have put this place on our bucket list. The waterfalls were amazing as well. We only saw the Terrace Creek and the Swayze. Amazing sights, for sure
I’ve come to this park over ten times now and every time I leave amazed. The trails take you through various ecosystems; a hardwood grove ( black walnut trail), wildflower fields (scarlet tanager) waterfalls, thick pine forests ( hemlock valley). There are levels of difficulty for all to enjoy! I’ve always parked up by Pelham road and walked down the steep gravel path before merging onto other trails, but recently I broke with tradition and tried Wiley road. What a gem! Please try it. Scarlet tanager to hemlock was my favourite section this time of year because of the bustling wildflower fields. Teeming with butterflies and bees. In winter time or after great rains I’d say swayze loop because the falls are magical. Well worth the exhaustive 2 hours. Not this time of year, though. The drought effects everything.

We went there for the first time and had a lot of fun. However, the rain had other plans, so we ended up going home because they stopped the race. The race started exactly at 7 PM, with entry starting at 5:00. They have basic food options at the food court at reasonable prices.
It's a good track but if you use headphones that connect to the radio station the commentators are on you can hear 2 music stations as well so it's not the best. The also take 1 hour break to clean the track at intermission but I might be a little biased because I like ohsweken Speedway.
This was our second visit to the track. I can say both times we were very happy to be there and enjoyed every minute of the races. The staff are very friendly and the ice cream shop is great. It does get a little dusty, so some sort of eye wear would be a good idea. it does also get chilly at night depending on the month you go so a blanket would also be a good idea. Overall i would highly recommend this adventure.
What a great night of racing! The car count is great and the racing even better. The announcer is familiar as he's also from 97.7 and does just as good of a job at the races! The flag man also gets special props as he was sometimes more entertaining than the races with all his moves! The food is decently priced compared to other places nowadays with two burgers and fries at around $20. The grandstands are just wooden bleachers so bring a butt pad or seat for that real race comfort! I'd definitely recommend this track to anyone in Niagara!
Absolutely 💯 fun!! Lots of cars, lots of crashes! But few warnings: kids need ear protection, it gets LOUD! Also wear sunglasses or face protection, it gets really, really dusty as the night go on. Even when they wet the track! Brings back lots of childhood memories!! Lots of fun, and relatively cheap night out!!
It's been decades since the last time I went. It's very exciting and fun, but I wish I'd remembered how much dust there is. I would have worn items to better protect myself.
What a community-driven organization with fantastic ownership, whether it's going to watch the races or getting a bite, Merriville has it all!
Enjoyed time with family and it worth it indeed!

An amazing autumn gem of a spot! The main path around the pond is wheelchair/scooter friendly. Tho there are some trails that look like they are more for hiking. A building for public bathrooms is available. There is a "tap' machine for donation at the gate tho no admission fee. Definitely worth the trip! Bonus: Decew Falls is just down the street!
Saint John’s Conservation Area is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the Niagara Region. Whether you’re an avid hiker, a casual nature lover, or just looking for a peaceful place to unwind, this spot offers something for everyone. The trails are well-maintained and clearly marked, winding through beautiful Carolinian forest, gentle hills, and around a picturesque pond. What makes this conservation area special is its tranquility. It’s rarely overcrowded, which allows for a more intimate experience with nature. You’ll often hear birdsong, see squirrels darting across the path, and spot turtles sunning on logs near the water. Interpretive signs along the trails provide insight into local flora and fauna, making it a great educational stop for families or school groups. The area is clean and features picnic tables and benches for resting, though there are no washroom facilities on site, so plan accordingly. Parking is free, and access is easy for all ages. Whether you’re going for a brisk walk, a leisurely picnic, or some quiet reflection in nature, Saint John’s Conservation Area is a peaceful and refreshing escape from urban life. Highly recommended for a short day trip or a weekend nature walk.
Such a beautiful and peaceful place to hike. The fall colours were beautiful and the other people who were using the conservation area were friendly. There is a washroom, but it’s something that you may want to avoid or only use if absolutely necessary as the smell is not great and there is no way to wash your hands. However, if you do need to use it, it’s welcome.
Great place to go in the summer for kids and adults alike! Nice walk around the pond and lots of animals to see! Anyone into nature this is a wonderful place to see birds and the turtles were cool to see too! Would definitely recommend!
Quiet place for a stroll. This is our go-to spot because of the variety of trails depending how hard we want to exercise. Today just a sedate autumn stroll. There are also many benches around the pond to rest or just contemplate a beautiful day.
A great place for birding, hiking, and fishing at the pond. Good parking, well kept trails, and area is clean.
Lovely local park. Always a great place to great to re-charge my internal battery!
This place is really good very nice trails

It is fantastic! It's big, clean, and fun! Splash pad, playground equipment and when I was there a real Unicorn!!! Across the street is a pollinators garden and plaques with info on Port Robinsons history. Bring the kids it's a great way to spend a day!!
Truly one of the world's best parks IMO. More than ample shelter under the well nurtured trees, if you need a place that's something comforting and will bring a smile to your face, this is the place to go. I personally like to take my sweet time to look at the sky while laying down in the grass, it's very pretty seeing all the flowers blossom in spring. Reminds me of the days my mother would take me down there growing up. I believe a fellow feeling all humans share is the enjoyment of natural light and trying to feel alive. There's a ton of things to do at the park that you can just knock yourself out on, is there really no happiness without the outdoor life? For me at least, it's everything to me
The Port Robinson Park and Splash Pad is a GREAT place to take kids. Very well maintained and not busy. Nice and close to the Welland Canal so you can also spot boats. Also, you can take the kids for a ride on the Port Robinson Ferry. Great place for a picnic too and there is an ice cream shop nearby.
Beautiful place in a beautiful peaceful town next to the highway, great place to stop and enjoy the view 💗
The splash pad was clean and perfect size and toys for kids. One thing that I feel shortage was shade or family bench & table.
This park has been my childhood since I was very young. The splash pad (water park), the playground, a basketball and baseball diamond and of course those cool swings gets the best of me and my nostalgic memories. I really recommend bringing the family and kids along to play in this beautiful park as well as heading over to the Bridge 12 Pub and Eatery for ice cream treats!
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Port Robinson trail with the water taxi to go to other side and it was an absolute delight! From start to finish, the entire journey was filled with breathtaking scenery, convenience, and a unique touch of adventure. The trail itself was a nature lover's dream. As we glided across the water, we were treated to stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The lush greenery, tranquil waterways, The trail was well-marked, allowing us to navigate easily and explore at our own pace.
The splash pad is not very big but has enough to please older and very young kids. The play ground is great and there is plenty of room to run around, toss a ball or even fly a kite. Enjoyed the time. we were there .

Great orchestra with great programming! If you live near by, you must support your orchestra while enjoying a great evening of music!
This review is for the summer music camp by NSO. I registered my son to this camp and unfortunately he decided that he didn’t want to attend anymore 1 month before starting date. I sent an email right away to see if I could get a partial refund. Karlie, the person in charge of the program told me I could get 300$ back. After the initial email, I’ve sent quite a few emails to follow up and I have still not received my refund. Honestly, even if the card I purchased the camp with got cancelled, it’s not an excuse to not refund someone, it’s been over 2 months and a half. Just send a check to their address, prepare one to be picked up or even refund them on another card. I gave these options by email and I always get as a response that they are trying to see if they can refund me on another card. Very disappointed with this place, do not register your child here.
this orchestra is loaded with VERY talented musicians....and the Niagara Choir sounded GREAT.....however, the Queen Symphony was less than stellar!!...the choir was VERY under-used!!!...and the orchestral versions of Queen songs was VERY hard to discern...at times I found myself asking "What is THAT Queen song?"...a disappointing evening at the PAC
The concert on Saturday April 13 was over the top amazing. The music, the programme, the pace and audience involvement were both professional and warm. What a treat for ‘my generation’. Thanks NSO🎶
Highly over priced, Tickets have scamy (like refund insurance that is nearly impossible to use) hidden fees making it more expensive than going to Toronto. Emails give you incorrect information resulting in showing up to lock doors and programs that aren't really worth the price of admission in the first place. I really miss going to the symphony but the Orchestra and PAC in particular are a huge let down.
Talented performers that play classical music.

Beautiful monument. I really liked the flowing, smooth lines of the structure, in such a contrast to the history of these places. The monument is located near the DeCew House Heritage Park and on the Bruce Trail. The parking was empty when we have visited but I can see it busy in the summer months.
Lots of cool birds here. The trail along the lake is usually quite muddy.
A good stop point for hiking Bruce Trail. The park is nice and quiet. There is a free parking lot and it is good for ten cars.
People sitting in their car eating pizza. I'm parking to go.for a walk half hour before sunset and alarms start going off saying LEAVE THE PARK IMMEDIATELY! No signs saying what time it closes or opens. Maybe adjust your alarms to reflect the new sunrise/sunset. It was 7:45pm
Very nice sitting area. Convenient parking lot.
Very peaceful place.... with views, and history, and a sense of pride.
I love how clear the water is here. Water is quite high at the moment.
Nice waters edge park. Suitable for a family or solo visit.
