We enjoyed our kayak rental trip down the river. We did not stay on the property. The staff was so nice and accommodating. The walk from the office to the river was too hard for me to walk due to knee replacement surgery earlier this year. The staff drove me down with their ATV and were so helpful and careful with getting me into the kayak launch. At the end of the trip, the staff was there to help pull the kayak up the bank and help me out of the boat. The river itself is very calm and you could float and not have to paddle much and still make it to the take out point with plenty of time left.
Might be far away for some people, but the journey to get there is an amazing trip on its own. Once you get there, the staff is very welcoming and informative about how to navigate through the river. The experience as a whole is very calming, although though on the arms on the long run, so manage your time well to arrive at the rendez-vous point on time. You can also bring your own things onto the kayak as there is a space specifically made for you to stock things you need for your 12km trip. There are loads of beaches to relax on, and most of the time, they're empty so you can have the beaches for yourself for long periods of time. I've enjoyed my time there a lot and I recommend coming here with friends and family.
We loved everything about our stay! The charming accommodation, the welcoming hospitality and the peaceful kayak ride down the river! And to top it off, we saw a deer on the property! We would come back anytime and recommend it to anyone looking for a weekend away.
Beautiful place, friendly staff and very helpful! The location by the river is beautiful and the wagons (huts) are a unique experience and accommodation, they provide ice and wood for fire, there are showers and toilets available but its a 10 minutes walk from the accommodation. They help with carrying the stuff to the car from the wagons.
My friend and me went to La Rivière Rouge just for kayaking purposes and it was an awesome experience. We travelled from Montreal, so it was a 2 hours drive, but very worthy. The young lady who works at the counter was welcoming and resourceful as well as the gentleman who gave us the equipment/instructions and pick us up when we finished the activity. I am planning to return to that place and do it all over again. I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes outdoor activities.
I visited Kayak & Cabana on the June 1st weekend for my boyfriend’s birthday and it was a perfect weekend. Marion was a delight at reception and made us feel so welcomed. It was a great way to start our weekend getaway with a bright smile and positive energy. We really enjoyed our stay in the Shepards hut, it had everything we needed. We were really impressed by all of the thought and care that went into the design of the cabin, outhouse, and the flow of the space was just awesome. We were one of the first to start the decent of the red river for the season and Richard was so helpful and informative. It was my first time and he made me feel confident and comfortable. I highly recommend booking your stay with the decent of the river because that was my absolute favourite part. We stopped on one of the beaches along the way and there were yellow butterflies everywhere and it felt so surreal. We drove 6.5hrs from Toronto to have this experience which was a reset on everything. 10/10 you won’t regret it 😁
Excellent experience, kayaking and paddle boarding, on La Rivière Rouge. A calm river with multiple organized duration options. The staff were very friendly and eager to answer an questions you might have. This unique river, with a bed of red sand that gives the water its reddish glow, is lined with beaches, all along its length, and sand bars throughout. The water depth ranged from several inches to about 4 feet. Dependent on the time of season, the rivers depth can vary and in the earlier season, water levels can be much higher, allowing for a much stronger current. Although the river will run much faster, in the early season, it’s still provides for a relaxing experience, that anyone can enjoy. You also have the option of bring your own kayak, or any form of floatation devise, and independently do your own river run. There are multiple points of access, to the river, allowing the general public to enjoy its beauty on their own volition. Scattered along the river, there are also those who pitch tents and camp on the beaches or sand bars. It would definitely make for a unique experience! I can’t say that you are actually allowed to camp along the river, but may do it with no issues from any authorities.
Beautiful cabin (we had "Cabana") with a great view and tranquil setting - lots of stars and even a meteor or 2 :) Everything was exactly as advertised on their site which clearly and accurately describes what to expect. The double hammock was especially comfy. Nice paths on the site and Montaigne Verte nearby was a great hike. The downstream kayak was very nice and relaxing. The nearby town of Labelle has everything you may have forgotten. Marion (co-owner) was a pleasure to deal with and was extremely kind and helpful. A very pleasurable 3 days. Highly recommended.

Lovely place, friendly with outdoor jacuzzi, sauna and small indoor room with seats and a fireplace to relax and read a book if you like. They are also on airbnb with nice rooms. Check them out for a great massage.
Spa le Geyser offers a quiet and welcoming environment. The staff are attentive, the massage therapists are top quality, the place is nicely arranged. A nice place to visit for a day of true relaxation.
It was a wonderful experience. I’ve been a couple of times and I haven’t been disappointed. Very welcoming, when I’m in the area, I always make sure to make an appointment.
The best place in all Quebec .. so kind, friendly and adorable ... If you come here you will not regret .. very relax, calm
Such a beautiful calming experience. And affordable for a student like me. I will definitely return.

It's small, but there is a surprising amount of information to read and many items to be observed and pondered about. The person who oversaw the visit was kind and shared anecdotes that were not explicitly told in the exposition and it made it pleasant. There is a train wagon outside you can visit as well to have a feel of the past. There's an amazing restaurant right next to it, and plenty of other things to occupy the mind. On Sunday, there is a farmer's market. It's free to visit de museum too!
This was my favorite stop along the rail trail from St Jerome to Mont Laurier. They did such a good job making the train station look appealing to those passing through. There are clean restrooms, a cafe, a fun museum with photos telling the story of the rail line and picnic benches for stopping and resting.
Currently, the museum is under renovation. The curator should change open status until renovation is complete. I suggest you call before driving there. By the way, Iroquois Falls are nearby and scenic.
We got a chance to view the museum in winter and it was a nice little side trip on our easy day. Museum is small but has many interesting exhibits. My kid enjoid it.
The museum is small but beautiful. You can visit it during your visit to the place where there is a small restaurant, a path for bicycles, and a place for gathering and waiting for the rugged mountain car driving activity of the activities of the Monterblanc Activity Center.
Jump back in time and visit the mini museum. The staff is really nice and knowledgeable about the subject. The real gem is to take time to talk with the staff and have a simili-guided tour and let them tell you story of the museum
we took a bike ride from Tremblant to Macaza on a Saturday morning using le petit train du nord trail. plenty of people, restaurant was pretty full. I believe there are restrooms small park for kids to play. and there is plenty of parking in the area. in the winter this is a good starting point for trail riding using quads or other trail approved vehicles.
Sadly, the museum is temporary closed. Not indicated in google maps.
