My family had a BLAST visiting the aquarium, especially seeing the blue and white lobsters, as well as the touch tanks where we all got to pick up live crabs, lobster and sea stars. Strongly recommended! 👍👍
BonTour works with the Marine Station and offers a boat tour which including a guided tour of the Marine Station. We purchased tickets on line through BonTour. From the moment we boarded, Bridgette and Simone made us feel welcome with their warm, positive energy and enthusiasm for the marine environment. Their knowledge of the local aquatic species was truly impressive. We learned so much about the marine life in the area. They were engaging, professional, and made the whole tour both educational and fun. It’s clear they’re passionate about what they do, and their excitement was contagious. The station may be small but this package packs a punch for the cost. Great memory maker!
Amazimg location with fun for the whole family if you like marine life or great views. The touch tanks are fun, and I love that the specimens are collected and returned annually.
They had 2 blue lobsters and a 96 year old (estimated) lobster plus lots of other aquatic life. Staff were very informative.
We came for a visit at the end of June. We had the a very positive experience. The timing must have been just right, because we had about three students showing us around the place and telling us all about their facility and their marine animals. The ladies were very knowledgeable and supper friendly. We got to hold some star fish and crabs. Also pretty cool they put all their animals back into the ocean at the end of the season. If you are in the area I would highly recommend.
Neat place to see with lots of cool touch tanks, jelly fish, lobster etc. Some other interesting displays too.
Had a great experience here. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. Lots of really cool marine animals to see and they're all released back into the wild after the season ends.
This Marine Station has a lot of potential to draw a lot of tourist back for a 2nd visit. It has some amazing eye catching sea creatures what most people will never get to see elsewhere. The staff really need to get more training to provide the full potential of what this Marine Station can really be. The staff wasn't very engaged with their visitors which was kind of a disappointment to most of those whole made the long drip to learn more about our ocean life.

Very well organized, great guides, you get to see the western newfoundland nature and taste local food. As you would expect from an island in the Atlantic, food choices focus on gifts from the sea quite heavily. For me kayaking in the bay was a highlight of the whole trip. They are the only ones in the Gros Morne area who offer such an option. In general, great experience and team, highly recommend .
We did the Long Range Traverse with Matt and Qasim. Being from Winnipeg…. We trained as much as possible. On our first day, halfway up the ascent my wife’s hiking boots catastrophically failed. We were screwed. The owner, Robbie, RAN… UP… THE…MOUNTAIN and delivered his wife’s boots to us. Ten fold above and beyond regular service. Our guides were fantastic and the food was excellent. The traverse was difficult but an amazing trip!
Flipping Awesome! Oh my gosh we had so much fun! We are 58 & 59 and we did the Zodiac Tour. It was windy of course, and we were whipping over the waves. Hold on tight. Loved every second of it. These are just 5 of the many pictures I took on their tour. Luca was a summer student with the tour, he was so dang cute! Very knowledgeable in the history, about the Fjords and the rock formations. Just a sweetheart, someone to bring home to meet dad😍. Lol
An amazing 5 days. Our guides were first rate and also knew a great deal of the geology. The accommodations were excellent. The hikes and other tours were all fantastic as was the food, both at the base camp, the prepared lunches and at the local restaurants. A first rate experience! The owners are just wonderful people and so is everyone who works with them.
Today we did a 2-hour guided kayak tour around Bonne Bay. This was our very first kayaking experience and being in the ocean, it was quite intimidating. Our tour guide Emily was excellent; so friendly and knowledgeable about the area and made us feel more at ease despite rough conditions at times. The other staff were great as well with instructions and providing our gear. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that we were not notified that the dry bags were an extra cost until after we had paid for our tour and were ready to get in our kayak; we thought this was included in the tour cost. Other than that, it was an excellent tour and first kayaking experience!
Highly recommend Gros Morne Adventures for both kayaking or private zodiac tour of Gros Morne and Norris Point. The crew were knowledgeable and accommodating to all our needs. We split our group into 3 double kayaks and a zodiac to catering to everyone’s level of adventure. We learned so much about the history and geology of the area and absorbed the natural beauty of the area. I highly recommended this trip.
We thoroughly our 3 Day Gems of Gros Morne tour. We loved hiking and learning about the geology of theTablelands, spending time in Woody Point and exploring Western Brook and Gros Morne North. Luna was a superb tour guide, full of energy, fun, passion and an incredible amount of knowledge in addition to be an expert hiker and athlete. The boat tour in the ancient fjords was breathtaking and led by an energetic, fun crew filled with knowledge and history of the area. It was a joy to spend an afternoon with Keith learning about Indigenous culture and history and making a fire from flint and then enjoying delicious bannock, moose meat and capelin over the fire. We loved our morning of sea kayaking in Bonnie Bay with 2 excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable guides. Robbie and Kristen and the whole Gros Morne team were friendly, welcoming and very well-organized. We stayed in a beautiful, modern, spotless cabin in Norse Point organized by Gros Morne Adventures with a lovely porch and breathtaking views to wake up to each morning. Highly recommend. You will love every minute. Thanks so much for a unforgettable adventure, Sandra and Rob, Toronto, ON
We rented kayaks for a couple of hours. Staff were friendly and helpful considering it was our family’s first time using sea kayaks. The kids got to swim off the dock. It was a great time and their coffee is fantastic!

The Jimenez Housedusplayed as if seems unassuming from the outside but once inside, it was quite interesting to see how the items were preserved and displayed as if the inhabitants were still living in there. There were articles and pieces of information around the house explaining things. It was better than I expected and if you’re around the area and not pressed for time, this may be worth a stop. They also sell souvenir items among many other things. In front of the house is a beautiful view.
Like stepping back in time. Great view outside. Definitely worth checking out if you are in Norris Point or Rocky Harbour on vacation
Best part is the view from the hilltop, but the museum/gift shop also provides great artifacts of what life was like when things were simpler.
Have 't been inside.... but great view from the grounds
When visiting Rocky harbour in NL, visit this view point not for the museum but for the mesmerising view of the tablelands in the front. Best time to visit: SunRise. Even when u can't see the sun set here as the sets behind the mountain 🏔️,still the dusk makes this point pretty magical.
Great distant views of the harbor from this point. We did not visit the house.
Awesome views and a great experience with homemade preserves for sale.
Nice room. Just need air conditioning

We had the BEST evening with Gros Morne Outdoor Co. The winds were not favourable for a full evening paddle tour, but knowing our family was only in the area for one night, Natalie was super accommodating and made sure we could get in on the experience. Our guide, Sarah, was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely patient with our 3 children. We will definitely paddle with them again in the future!
We had a wonderful time with Gros Morne Outdoor Co. It was my first experience SUPing and Natalie made me feel so comfortable. She truly is a teacher and she is so patient! I really didn't think I'd be able to stand up but she gave me all the tips and confidence to do so. We had a beautiful experience out on the water at sunset looking at the Tablelands while SUPing. She even took pictures of our group and sent them later! This is such a unique experience - highly recommend!
I tried stand up paddle boarding for the first time with Natalie Thomas as my instructor. As a person who is tentative at best when it comes to water sports, Natalie’s teaching style and focus on safety gave me the confidence I needed. After one lesson I did the Sunset Tour on the eastern arm of Bonne Bay with Natalie as guide. It was an awesome experience and the scenery and history were just stunning. Dr. Donna McLennon Corner Brook, NL
We were extremely lucky to have decided to try paddle boarding in Norris Point with Gros Morne Outdoor Company. We were guided by the best instructor and we had a blast navigating the ocean in beautiful Gros Morne Park. Well worth the price for such a great experience!
We had a brilliant and challenging couple of days hiking in the Tablelands with Steve of Gros Morne Outdoor Co. We did the three-day Tablelands hike, staying in a remote mountain hut for two nights. We are both relatively fit, with lots of hiking experience. The tour was exceptionally well-organized, and we felt well looked-after the entire time. There was plenty of food, and the breakfasts and evening meals were particularly delicious - it was so nice to return to a hot meal after a long hike! The hut itself was very basic, but a definite step up from camping - even though conditions outside were challenging (quite rainy and cold), the hut was lovely and warm once the fire got going, and stayed this way all night. There is plenty of space for a group in there, and board games to play next to the fire - just the sort of experience we were looking for! There is no running water so it's by no means luxury accommodation, but it's perfect for anyone in search of an adventure. The hiking itself was excellent. While the distances are not long (10-12km a day), the nature of the terrain meant this was far enough! There is a lot of rocky terrain, so good boots are a must; for those who are a little nervous (as I was at first, though it got easier over the 3 days), Steve is very patient and never once made me feel as if I were holding anyone up. He was also on hand for the river crossings - due to heavy rain the rivers were quite high, but we always felt safe and didn't take any risks. I would absolutely recommend Gros Morne Outdoor Co to any outdoors enthusiasts looking for a real taste of this amazing landscape. We didn't see other people for almost 3 full days - the trip took us right out into the wild and off the beaten track.
These guys are the best! I tried stand up paddle boarding for the first time and Natalie was a fantastic - and trained - guide who made me feel totally at ease. Paddleboarding is fun for people of many ages and abilities - a must-do when you are in the Gros Morne area! Beautiful scenery and a very fun time await! We paddled to a beautiful hidden cove to have a picnic as part of this tour… unforgettable!
This was one of the best Newfoundland experiences yet! We had a private paddleboard session with Natalie and Savannah. They were both so fun, helpful and informative about the area. The equipment was great and they had everything you'd need in any weather! We paddled for 2 hours into the sunset in Norris Point and we never felt rushed or like they didn't have time for us. The price was also extremely reasonable. Plus they gave us great local suggestions! Thank you
My family and I recently did the evening paddle. Great experience ! Breath taking sunset!! My kids(10 and 15) are raving about it. Natalie was a great teacher. Very friendly and made us feel very comfortable! Highly recommend!!
