Hilly, mainly coastal path known for its sweeping views of sea stacks & icebergs, plus eagles.

I’ve hike nearly around the world (NZ to Chile) and this has got to be one of my favourite day hikes. Beautiful coastal views, variety of trees and rock formations and well maintained. Highly recommend hitting it up! Took us 1.5 hours starting from Fishers Loft Inn.
Second summer that I do the trail with my kids and husband and it was super fun. It is really depends on the weather but if you are lucky enough with a clear day and the view is absolutely stunning. The trail is a bit challenging for little kids but I think that from the age of 7/8 it will be manageable. Good shoes/snickers are very recommended and maybe water shoes to dip your feet at the end of the trail (in the ocean). The trail is very clean and has a few view points with bunches to relax. We had a great time and will come bank next summer.
Magic. All the views are remarkable, for us the weather was amazing. The hike to the lookout was all up, but worth it :) but even without the lookout, I would recommend this hike. There are some steeper bits, but totally doable for a 50+, not in perfect shape, round bodied woman :)
Take the time to do this trail. I think it had some of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen on a hike before. Moderate difficulty, but easily doable if you take your time. It took us about 2.5 hrs from beginning to end but we also stopped on many of the benches and at many of the look outs to enjoy the sights, sounds, smells and had a snack too.
What a beautiful trail. Scenic lookouts at every turn and even the interior views are lovely. Relatively easy trail with some moderately difficult areas. We stopped a lot for pictures and to enjoy the view so it took us about 2.5 hrs but I would say the walk itself is about 90 min. Worth every minute!
A moderate hike with short sections of climbing but relatively flat most of the way. Once you get close to the shoreline then the rewards reveal with stunning shoreline views and natural features. A must-do hike when you are in Cape Bonavista area of Newfoundland.
A fantastic trail, moderate, while with lots to see, the magnificent port view, gorgeous costal line with cliffs, wild flowers and etc. It is 8km, we take photos all the way, so it takes us around 4 hours. It is a loop, next time I would rather not take the loop, will go to the end of the costal line and then return.
Such a beautiful hike with great views of the ocean. We took a lunch and enjoyed the view of the sea stacks where there were many birds to see. Be sure to wear sunscreen, follow the prescribed direction (trail narrow in some spots), and take time to enjoy the scenery. The trailhead was a little crowded but we found a parking spot without much trouble. The best parking/trailhead is the one by the church. We didn’t see any whales but we did see a very cute fox just past the sea stacks with the birds.

I enjoyed a flight of four beers, each with unique flavors. The salted stout was a standout, perfectly balanced and memorable. The food truck’s grilled cheese sandwiches, especially the one with moose, were fantastic. Highly recommend a visit! 🍻
Large selection of beer on tap. Really cool building inside and out. Large outdoor patios to sit on front and back and lots of seating inside as well. My son enjoyed playing the old school mortal kombat arcade game. If you live close, fill a growler to take home for best value!
Lovely spot open year round, great beer and awesome food from the food truck. The taproom had very cool decor.
We stopped here on a cold and rainy Tuesday night. The beer was delicious and reasonably priced. Seating was cozy - great ambiance with candles and a fireplace. Great merch available as well. Make sure to visit if you are in the area!
At the recommendation of my daughter, we came here for a flight of beers and a grilled cheese sandwich. I had the old cheddar and blueberry jam - really, really good. It impressed me so much I tried to replicate it the next day at the two whales cafe which was a total fail in comparison. The flights were really good and I especially liked the sour. We sat at a large table and got talking to a young couple from St. John’s who gave us great recommendations as to what to see in the area.
Great brewery! Really nice space, there’s a lot of seating both inside and outside and both have a great atmosphere. They have a nice selection of brews which were all pretty tasty and the grilled cheese and fries were a nice addition. They also had an open mic and some live music which made for a nice night!
Awesome that they had NA beer on tap. I was reluctant to try the NA stout, but it was really a fantastic beer.
Absolutely worth the drive to Port Rexton. Gorgeous and cozy old building with a roaring wood stove. Super delish craft beer and a grilled cheese food truck that will leave you grinning and stuffed to the gills!

A very sweet campground- definitely worth stopping at if you are touring Bonavista & Trinity area. The sites at the campground are big and feel secluded. We had a site along the river and listened to a babbling Brook all night it was beautiful. Fire pits have little grills over them which we used for cooking at our site. Amenities are well thought out, and restrooms & showers were kept very clean. Park was dog-friendly and had great playgrounds. The day-use area is very nice, there is a swimming area and dock. I enjoyed it, would absolutely come back again!
Pros: Wooded campsites on a Brook. Lovely swimming area in day use. Comfort station. Some Serviced sites. Friendly Staff. Fire pits On site. Bagged wood available. Water on Every site. Scenic area. Cons: Comfort station is not centrally located. But black flies were very bad when we were there. Take a dirt road to get there.
This is my first camping experience. The ranger here is very nice and welcome as I arrived late. Check in is pretty smooth and you will get all the information you need. The comfort station in the campground saved my night. I will definitely recommend this campsite. Firewood is CASH ONLY.
Great place to go camping with beautiful pond to go swimming, kayaking, or fishing there’s also hiking trails you can do here😀.
Great park with private tent sites, super clean bathrooms, only issue is tent sites with gravel coverage as the gravel really does not hold tent pegs well! However a major bonus to have a water tap at each site! 10$ cash only wood
This review concerns the camping not the park itself. If you intend on spending a quiet evening then this camping is not for you. The amount of campers with a generator is unbelievable. All this to power up their stupid Xmas lights or their kids iPad (they allow them until 11h00pm). Get a solar panel for God's sake! If you have to camp there, get a site with electricity, it will put you further away from these generators and closer to the restrooms and showers which are at the very end of the camping loop. Restrooms & showers are clean. Privacy is ok. We will go back to visit the region but not this camping.
This is a lovely park to visit. I only gave it a 4 as we visited during pouring rain and there is about 5km of gravel, mud, potholed road to reach it. My vehicles were caked with mud when we left. But it is adventure, no? We liked the easy access to things and the only park out on the Bonavista Peninsula. We also camped out at Elliston Municipal Park and preferred that to Lockston. Easy access to Trinity which is definitely worth the visit but certainly can easily drive to the end of Bonavista as well. We love the Rexton Brewery Beers but did not actually visit the Brewery which is just up the road. Port Union was a disappointment. There are some hiking paths but again, the weather was bad and we did not hike there but spent our time at Trinity and out at Bonavista. We were not really there much other than to park and sleep!
Park is a nice visit with varying styles of camping sites available. The beach is small but still nice with tables etc. Park staff were friendly and comfort station provided most of what would be needed. Cell reception is incredibly poor and wifi that was offered at a separate station did not work. The road in is not ideal but otherwise a good spot to stay for visiting around the area.

Walked this trail with my 11 year old. 5km of beautiful views and beginner to intermediate terrain. A must do!
Nice trail, well marked, and tons of beautiful coastal views. We saw a couple pods of dolphins. This trail is exposed in most of it, so don’t forget your sunscreen and a hat. The last ~2 km was walking through town, which wasn’t exactly a “trail” so that was kind of a bummer. Finished on an uphill back to parking area.
One of my favourite hikes in the Hike Discovery group. Part town, part country. Great beach and pasture lands hike. Highly recommended.
Beautiful trail. We could only go so far because my elderly father was with us but it was worth the views.
Beautiful, well marked hiking trail. You can also hike up Fox Island. This is a little more difficult but there are lot of blueberries and raspberries (we were there middle of September). We took longer on the trail because I ate my weight in berries, as per my husband. At the end of the hike you walk through a small fishing village called Champney's West. Lots of amazing photo ops there. There are also very nice air B&B's. We stayed here to be close to this trail and the Skerwink trail. Highly recommend.
Hiked up to the top of Fox island. Very difficult (watch out for the Hog Weed patches) but well worth it. Counted dozens and dozens of Humpbacks!!!
Such views. A nice wide path in many spots. Varied terrain along the trail and a quaint little village walk.

This is a great little spot! Tanks are very clean and show an array of different species. The touch tanks are a hit with kids. The price is very good and well worth it to support this small but informative community aquarium.
Cool spot for adults and kids alike!! The touch tank is super cool and the staff were very informative! No wait and fair prices.
Must have on your list. It's too interesting aquarium, don't miss opportunity! Also check out Fox Island trail!
Our 3-year-old loved the touch tanks and seeing the variety of marine life. It's a very nice set up with a lot of information. I appreciated the stools so that my daughter could see better and there were towels to dry your hands. There are also two clean public washrooms and picnic tables outside. Another bonus was a short boardwalk to a little beach behind the aquarium.
Beautiful aquarium in a very picturesque village. Super friendly and helpful staff, the kids loved being told all about the various creatures in the touch tank and getting the opportunity to feel and hold them!
Excellent little touch tank and aquarium place to pop into if you're in the area! Super great for kids and adults alike. The staff are super knowledgeable and friendly!
Wonderful little aquarium with friendly and informative staff. Worth checking out if you're in the area, especially if you have kids. Great variety of sea life to check out!
Amazing finding, a jewel! I have to say, the community of Champney did a wonderful job. Thank you Daniel for taking the time to show us everything. The open tanks give us the opportunity to experience specimens of the region, also little cameras and microscope to see specimens up close. We love it!

A old church building re-purposed as an arts and culture venue. Small cozy atmosphere, great natural acoustics for concert type events.
Very cute little church, gallery, and gift shop. Nice little place to stop.
An enchanting space with creative programming, a wonderful acoustic, and a welcoming vibe.
Was not open when we drove there today. No hours are posted anywhere. Disappointing after taking the time to drive there due to a recommendation from a friend.
Beautiful space, great setting, friendly folk!
Great venue , hosts and performances
What a great Friday Night at Arts Centre!
