We stopped in Hearst as one of our overnight stays on a roadtrip from Montreal to Saskatoon. Doing a quick google search of local attractions, I quickly became intrigued with the distillery and its offerings. But I did not research the distillery at all- we just decided to go and check it out. Best decision ever. Having not done any research, I was surprised to arrive at a home. We pulled in and parked, knowing we were at the right address, but still thinking maybe we made a mistake. Marcel was already outside, and quickly came to greet us, and had us follow him inside. There was the immediate sense of comfort and familiarity, almost as if visiting with family. Marcel was gracious and detailed with explaining the product & the process. There is clearly a love and pride put into their products, and it shows; both in the passion exuded as he spoke, and in the tasting. We were blown away, and while we have arrived in Saskatoon, this spontaneous visit is still a top highlight of our trip. Mireille is equally as lovely & passionate as Marcel, explaining in thoroughly the thought and detail put into the labelling in particular on the Loon vodka bottle. We took a vast assortment of their products, and while I am very much a whiskey man (the reserve 2015 is exquisite), the Tamarack Gin is one of the best gins I have ever had. True artistry, lovely people- I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you Marcel & Mireille
My husband and I stopped by while on a road trip. We were warmly welcomed by Marcel and Mireille, and had the opportunity to sample many of their products. They are known for their multi-award winning Loon Vodka, but their fruit vodka liqueurs were fabulous. We also liked that they foraged their own botanical ingredients on their property for their gin. I highly recommend looking them up; we left with a number of bottles!
This is a MUST- DO stop in Hearst, just a few minutes off the Northern Trans-Canada route on Highway 11 in Hearst!!! Their vodka bottle is not only stunning for artistry, but the flavour is amazing! Their Tamarack gin is so yummy, as are their fruit liquers with blueberries, raspberries and other fruits! Highly recommended, and Canadian! You can also buy the vodka now in some LCBO stores on Ontario! I am thrilled to hear I can buy it in my local store in Barrie! Enjoy!
Famous for the Loon Vodka, this distillery is located just outside Hearst, Ontario. The distillery is also the home to owners Marcel Rheault and his wife, Mireille Morin. While a television crew was interviewing Marcel, Mireille gave an interesting and informative tour of their operation followed by some sampling of their products...which also includes Irish and Scotch Whisky, as well as a variety of liqueurs (apple, pear, cherry and blueberry). Very unique and interesting.
The Rheault Blueberry Liqueur has a uniquely smooth, rich, full flavour of Blueberries. Simply delicious! Their Loon Vodka is superb as well! I am looking forward to trying the other Liqueur flavours they offer. .....and they can ship a box if you're not in their area. Quick and friendly service. Thank you!
I purchased the Blueberry Liqueur this summer at the Sturgeon Falls Market. Amazing! Where can I purchase again in this area?
I'm glad we stopped by for a quick tour. We met very friendly and knowledgeable, hands on owners who produce a world class product with local ingredients. Impressive and Outstanding!!
Working at the Toronto Royal Winter fair I had the good fortune of being beside Rheault Distillery’s. Marcel and his son are awesome people, big hearts and great alcoholic beverages. The Cherry and Black currant liquors were over the top, now I wish I’d bought them all and maybe a few extras. I’m almost finished both bottles and unfortunately there not sold at the LCBO. I’m sure Marcel will be back in Toronto sometime…!? The Vodka, it’s pretty great, also easily picked up in the lcbo near me, well worth it, especially being a Canadian product. It was a pleasure meeting you and your family Marcel, look forward to a few more bottles of your liquor.

It was a nice place to visit right off of the highway. The people were so nice, and I even managed to get a paper map of Ontario and Sask, which was something I was unable to get anywhere else. I guess in these days of Google, they are no longer in demand, but it sure is nice to have
A great, clean rest stop. Unfortunately, I clearly need to learn some French, was not expecting that Hearst was dominantly French speaking and cashless.
Great place to park your car/van for the night. It feels safe, as there are usually other travellers and there are lights at night! Bathroom is kinda gross but, ya know, at least there is one lol.
A lovely little spot to stop. Friendly staff, clean indoor washrooms and great photo ops. They provided the kids with actual maps which they haven't seen before.
Cool spot to stop at. Definitely check out the little welcome building there
Very patient n friendly staff , Ashley, and with a clean washroom
Very friendly staff and clean place to use restrooms. They had a little shop for souvenirs and some informational pamphlets and maps for around the area.
The only star this one is worth is the free toilet. The young lady that works here is rude and enough reason to keep driving.

Great quality course and can’t beat the price!
Great little golf course! The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Their ten dollar special can't be beat. The course is well maintained and challenging. Well worth the drive. Keep up the good work folks!
