Beautiful place! The hike to the cove was fairly easy! But further up onto the rock was a little more scary! Had to be careful in spots, no railings or anything, and loose rock! But can be do e safely if you are careful! So worth the trip, you feel like you're at the end of the world, with just the ocean surrounding you!!
Amazing place for a moderate hike. Breathtaking view to the ocean that opens up as come out of the trail like a surprise. Above Bottle Cove there’s the Sunset Rock which is further elevated and a little more hard to climb from the ocean’s side. There is also a trail to reach the Sunset Rock top through the woods. There’s rope guide to help climb up there. Hope you will enjoy it.
There daughters run the business while a proud father greets guests. This place is enchanting. The family clearly enjoys giving their guests a beautiful experience. The sites are all spectacular. The beach is pristine. The amenities and comfort shown are clearly noticeable by the joy and contentment of the guests. Highly recommend.
Bottle Cove is a hidden gem on Newfoundland's west coast. This picturesque location offers a unique opportunity to explore the region's rich geological history. The cove itself is a stunning example of glacial erosion, with towering cliffs and a pristine beach. The area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with several hiking trails catering to different fitness levels. While we didn't have the chance to explore them all, the trails we encountered were well-maintained and offered breathtaking views. The opportunity to witness firsthand the geological formations that have shaped this coastline is truly remarkable. Bottle Cove is a dog-friendly destination, making it a perfect spot for a family outing. The beach is a safe and enjoyable environment for dogs to run and play. However, it's essential to keep them on a leash in designated areas and to clean up after them. Whether you're a geology buff, a beach lover, or simply seeking a peaceful escape, Bottle Cove has something to offer. It's a place where you can truly connect with nature and appreciate the beauty of the Newfoundland coast.
Absolutely stunning scenery regardless of which trail you take. The Bottle Cove trail is easy going. The hike up to Sunset Rock will not be for everyone as there are very steep sections that have ropes to help you go up/down.
Incredibly scenic spot. Worth the little hike to get to this area. You can also hike to the top of the mountain/cliff (little steep) but once you get up there you can get an even better view of the area.
A beautiful place to hike and sit down. I really recommend driving there if you are in the area.
Definitely worth a stop especially at sunset. We stayed at bottle cove domes which was a short walk here!

A challenging trail with pristine forest, numerous climbs, and steep paths. It's recommended to wear good hiking boots and bring trekking poles. When I went, the weather was great. I encountered many toads basking in the sun on the trail and saw plenty of squirrels. The view from the top is beautiful, with a refreshing breeze. At the end of the trail, you can see a small lighthouse in the distance, although it's not very clear from afar. For safety, it's advisable to hike with friends.
The View from the Lighthouse Trail Parking – Bottle Cove Before even stepping foot on the trail, you’re hit with this unreal view from the parking lot — and honestly, it’s worth the stop on its own. Looking down over Bottle Cove, the water glows this deep blue, almost like glass on a calm day. The headlands wrap around the cove perfectly, and you can see the little cluster of houses off to the left, tucked in among the trees. It’s classic Newfoundland — rugged, raw, and peaceful all at once. From a photographer’s point of view, it’s got everything: layered depth, a natural leading line from the cove out to the open sea, and a balance of earthy textures and ocean blues. It’s one of those places where you just want to stop, breathe it in, and take a dozen different compositions before even hitting the trail. If you’re headed this way, give yourself extra time — the view from the parking lot alone deserves it.
Bottle Cove and its adjacent, Little Port, are absolutely stunning places! The towns of Lark Harbour and York Harbour area beautiful little spots with Myrtle's On The Bay as the perfect place to stop and eat. If you haven't yet ventured to this beautiful gem of a place, wait no more! You will not be disappointed!
Gorgeous, worth the hike out.
Went to the top of the mountain. Amazing 360 views! The last trek up to the top is steep so take your time, but the view is absolutely worth it.
Difficult hike. No cell reception throughout the hike. Would suggest hiking gears, hiking sticks and first aid kit. Amazing view tho once you are at the top.
Phenomenal nature scenes!

The lower trail gives easy access to Cedar Cove, which is a remote-feeling beach strewn with driftwood. It was dramatically windy and wavy when we visited, but on a calm day would be a pleasant place to hang out. In contrast, the upper trail along the ridgeline is bordering on a Class 3 scramble. We hiked it with adventurous 11 and 13 year-olds, I definitely wouldn't take a child under 10 without climbing experience. There are plenty of ropes on the harder sections, but the southern end especially would be quite tricky when wet. All that said, the ridge itself is a fantastic hike with gorgeous views, and I'd definitely recommend it. It's a little exposed in places, but not dangerously so.
Depending on which trail you take, it is good or not so good. The trail going to cedar Cove is good. A lot of roots, and some of the boards where they have walkways are broken. If you take the light house trail, it's steep and has rope for assistance. There are areas where you're right on the edge of a steep embankment. There are sections of the rope that is broken. Need to be careful.
Beautiful place to visit. A quintessential newfoundland harbor. Worth the drive!
Easy to find and not a difficult or long hike. Trail is well maintained and well marked with a variety of buoys. Great reward at the end with not too much of an arduous effort! The Cove is beautiful and a nice place for a picnic (if it's not too chilly!) Perfect for a quick hike
The cove is nice. Lots of tree parts litter the shore. The hike in is uneventful but there are spots to view the coastal and peninsula hills which is nice.
Great trail to walk. I didn't to the lighthouse section as it is quite a climb up but the shorter trail to the cove is lovely!
The best hike in all of newfoundland but don't tell anyone
