Heard alot of good things about this course and it did not disappoint. Really friendly staff. The course was amazing. The greens and fairways were in great shape. Some of the tee boxes were beat up and really uneven. And stay out of the thick rough it's no joke. Tons of wildlife on the course which is always great and the views are stunning. Only negative was having the first tee time at 7 and playing the front in about an hour 45 then running into people 3 holes into the back since they squeeze groups out to play 9 holes til 830 which is kind of a joke. We had to wait for at least 10 minutes on every tee box the last 5 holes for the man and women in front of us to shank it around and 6 putt. Maybe the course should only allow 9 hole play til 8 but a 4some with 2 walkers should not be waiting on a 2some in carts. I'd recommend playing the course but i don't know what management is thinking.
I came to the course for a golf trip with a big group of friends and my experience was amazing! The check in was great, the service at the restaurant was great as well! I had an unfortunate incident happen on the course when my cell phone fell out of my cart while I was on the course, I tried everything to look for it but it did not turn up, I called back a week ago and to my surprise the course found my phone!! I spoke to an amazing person at the course (Grace) who graciously mailed my phone back to me in Vancouver which she did not have to do. I truly appreciate the staff on the course along with the management team, rest assured that you will be will taken care of at the course, I will be back everytime I come to Victoria!
For my first time at Highland Pacific Golf Course, I can honestly say it was a complete disappointment. First of all, I’m visiting from Saskatoon and planned on playing 18 holes, since I came all this way for vacation, and had a recommendation from one of my golfing buddies. I booked on the telephone 2 days in advance to get on as a single. They gave me a tee time of 4:36 pm, which is totally fine with me. I wanted their twilight rate anyway. When I arrived at the golf course today, the young lady rang me up on the till for 9 holes. I said I’d like to play 18 please. It was 1 or 2 minutes after 4. I asked nicely if they could squeeze me out there with another group because she told me their last 18 hole tee time would be around 4:18pm, she made an excuse saying that at the turn it would be crowded if they let anyone play 18 holes after that time(which didn’t make sense, unless they’re starting tee times off the front and back tees. Next, I went down to the 1st hole. I was rudely greeted by their older gentleman, the starter. He said you’re 1 minute late for your 4:36 tee time, I asked him what time it was and he said it’s 4:37. He grumbled that he sent the group I was supposed to join ahead to play(so he must have sent them out early) and it wouldn’t have made me late, unless they all teed off in a one minute. I was paired up with a lovely couple, Sherry and Gerry, whom I don’t know. Gerry said to me “gee that starter was kind of rude to you” , I said he sure was. I told him I must have gotten the BC welcome to Highland Pacific. We played 9 holes and had a great time 👍🏽. I’m giving this review 1 star because of the golf courses poor lack of communication and the elderly staff that is hired as the starter. The golf course itself was so/so. Very nice picturesque holes, but very dry in places. I probably will not return to Highland Pacific. I’d rather return to Cordova Bay where I had a great time, with the pro shop staff, and the happy starter and his large dog on the first tee. Please do better to treat your out of town guests better Highland Pacific.
We hosted our wedding at Highland Pacific Golf. From day 1 all the staff members that assisted during the planning process were incredibly kind & helpful. We were able to access the facilities during the planning process whenever needed. We always had fast excellent communication from team members whenever we had questions. We were able to do our bridal party preparation on the premises, held our ceremony on the green and hosted our reception in the rustic barn on the property and everything turned out perfectly. If you are considering having your wedding at Highland Pacific, we highly recommend 👌
Visiting from Toronto, I had the chance to play Highland Pacific and it was an unforgettable experience. The course is absolutely beautiful and incredibly scenic, especially in the fall with all the amazing colours. Every hole felt unique and well-designed, with stunning views throughout the round. Also saw some wildlife out on the course, which made the day even more special. Can’t wait to come back!
Solid course in good condition. Lots of tee shots have to be "placed" in the correct position. I was surprised on how much elevation change there was on the course. Greens were quick, but not unfair. Lots of undulation. Staff were polite and helpful. Overall a really good experience.
Great golf course with lots of elevation and blind tee shots making it very difficult in a good way. Spent 2hrs and 5 minutes playing the front nine in a group of 4. In my opinion a reasonable amount of time. Was told to skip hole 10 and go to the next hole because people are waiting for us. Seems like they are booking too many tee times too close together
Great golf course offering beautiful views. The course was in really good condition. They offer new Callaway clubs for rental. Carts have GPS, club cleaners and ball washers. Staff were really friendly and gave some good suggestions for holes. Restaurant and the turn offer full menus and a decent beer selection. They have a 2 deck driving range and a nice putting green. We’ll worth the trip and great value for the area.

my visits every time I come here. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food served here is reasonable for what you're paying for from my experience. Handicap accessible, handicap parking for those who are in wheelchairs can come here without a worry. Win or lose I always enjoy myself here. Me and my family will continue coming back
I rarely leave reviews, but Element Casino deserves this one. From start to finish, this place was a disaster. First off, the food was horrible – like, actually inedible. I ordered a simple burger and fries, and the burger came out cold and raw in the middle. Fries were soggy and greasy, like they’d been sitting under a heat lamp all day. I sent the food back, and they brought out the exact same thing with zero improvement. Total joke. The staff were extremely rude and disrespectful. I asked one dealer a basic question and got snapped at like I was bothering them. Wait staff had serious attitude, and no one seemed to care about basic customer service. It felt like they were doing me a favor just by acknowledging me. On top of all that, the poker tables had insanely long wait times. I waited nearly 2 hours just to get seated at a table, and when I asked about the delay, I got a shrug and a “that’s just how it is.” Really? Between the awful food, nasty staff, and completely disorganized poker area, this was a total waste of time and money. Do yourself a favor – skip Element Casino. There are way better places to play and eat without being treated like garbage.
Went for lunch with my brother, he suggested the location... Decor is utilitarian... plain, simple. Food & service was OK to good. Pricing was reasonable... 3 / 5..
Good casino and good staff. The blackjack table is just impossible to sit on. You almost need to hawk over the tables and wait for someone to get rinsed and pray they don’t hold and hit the ATM. There’s a bunch of tables that are open but they don’t switch it to blackjack and I don’t understand why.
I recently visited the casino and had an absolutely fantastic time! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was electric—bright lights, upbeat music, and the perfect blend of excitement and comfort. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome right away. Whether you’re a casual player or a seasoned pro, there’s something for everyone. I loved the variety of games, and the dealers were both helpful and entertaining. The slot machines were fun, the tables were lively, and the energy was contagious. the overall vibe made it easy to relax and have a blast. I left with a big smile (and maybe a little luck on my side!). Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun night out with great service, great energy, and unforgettable moments! 🎰✨
I will say one thing. The staff are great. I really do appreciate that. The thing that really bothers me, makes me distrust this whole thing, is the ATM'S they say you have a "checking account" what in the H -E -Double hockey sticks. So I'm supposed to believe that This establishment is competent in how they conduct business when they can't have their ATM'S spell chequing right? So hey when you lose money there, remember that they can't spell. They don't know English and weird your. Money is gone. Smarten up people, it actually worrisome that this is a BC regulated casino, "have you guys set up the machines right? Sure thing we are a Kaceeno after all" like really? So
Had a nice meal during game 6...tasty Ruben and some chicken wings thst reminded me of a slightly spicy karage chicken that were wicked good.
First time I was there and the staff in the customer service was sooo great! They were helpful, kind and explained everything I needed to know in order for me, to have a wonderful experience.

Thetis lake is super beautiful, and I always manage to find something new! There are tons of birds and fish. I've even seen a few garter snakes. Its disappointing to see so many invasive bull frogs. I even found a cool young deer skeletons. The trails are very easy. If you're fairly mobility limited you could easily walk the south west side of lower Thetis, the east side has a single section with decent elevation gain, but for the most part the entire region is good hiking for the whole family. The beach beautiful and sandy, but always packed in summer. Every part of the lake is great for swimming, depending on how comfortable you are going on from rocks. My favorite spots for swimming are out to the island, and a couple deeper sections in upper Thetis. Decent fishing trout and bass. No motorized boats are allowed, but ideal for paddlers. There is a dog park, which is actually where I usually launch my kayak.
Wonderful place for a tranquil stroll. The park is massive and covered in dense vegetation. The lakes are beautiful all year round. The trails are well marked and maintained. The only downsides are that there is almost no gradient and the views do get boring after awhile.
Amazing, relaxing great hiking and a nice beach. Parking was a breeze during the day. Worth the visit and make sure to bring swim wear on a nice day. Lake is clear and clean. The hike can be a little hard for some as it has a few elevation changes but it's dog friendly.
A beautiful park and 40+ km of trails means you can return often and have new experiences. It's only five km of trails to go up, down and around both upper and lower lakes at Thetis Lake Park. The trails are maintained in excellent condition. In spring many types of wildflowers bloom, such a colourful and delicate contrast to the giant trees. We'll be back.
Love to come to Thetis Lake any day of the week. It’s a bit busier on the weekends, as expected, but there’s always lots of room for parking. This is a great place for swimming, picnics, hikes, kayaking and paddle boarding (Palli Paddle Boards is very close if you want to rent one!). Parking is $2.50 for the day and there are lots of washrooms and changing rooms at the beach.
We actually purchased our home because of it's close proximity to this gem of a location. Although this park can get busy in on the hottest days of summer, once parked there seems to be lots of room for everyone. Most of the rest of the year it is a peaceful oasis. The broad network of trails leave many choices for those looking to escape the business of life. For those that want to walk a dog, connect with a friend, build cardio, or take in quick break then the lower and upper lake loop trails are perfect for you. **Disclosure - I'm a little biased as this one is close to my home!
What a great walk! Walked from my daughter's school and took the trails leading to Thetis Lake. We strolled everywhere we possibly could and we still didn't see it all. We walked a total of 8.5km and want to come back for more as this place has incredible views and certain places are just so quiet and tranquil. Never did find my daughter's class trip but we did find a pile of new memories and pictures worth taking. Highly recommended for the walking and kayaking but not necessarily the swimming as there are algae blooms and some type of scum on the water during different seasons. Seen plenty of people still fishing so....up to you.
Thetis lake offers you walking/moderate hiking destination with serene views. I went to Thetis lake trek on weekend but could not finish the whole trek (upper lake) due to stormy weather but whatever I saw offered me with beautiful spots, off trail tracks and beautiful view of lake all along. Most of the trail is soft ground with very few muddy patches with fishing spots available (fishing license required). Cliff jumping is prohibited and depth warnings can be seen at certain spots around the lake. In addition, lake seems mystical especially in rainy weather. It’s easily accessible from downtown through tran Canada highway no. 1 and if you want to take bus then no. 50 will drop you 1 km away from the lake (at Island Highway at Six Mile Road). You can either walk from there all the way to Thetis lake regional park (up hill walk) or take bus no. 53 which will drop you in the parking lot of the Park. Good luck to everyone and again thank you Victoria for such beautiful moments.
