So fun to be on this beach with all the locals! Get off the resorts and mingle — you’ll have an amazing experience! We stayed at the Millennium Hotel this time. You can walk right to the beach from there. You can get cabanas and surfing lessons — there’s parasailing and lots of restaurants.
My favorite beach in Costa Rica. Parking should cost you around $6-$8 per day Chair and umbrella rental about $8-$10 for a pair. Follow the safety guidelines and listen to the lifeguards. Pay attention to the flags as this is one of the beaches with the strongest rip ties.
Had the perfect beach day here. Perfect weather, lots of shade, clear blue water, and the wildlife and scenery is unmatched.
For me one of the best beaches in whole Costa Rica for relaxing and especially swimming. It is part ot the national park of Manuel Antonio so you really need to book your tickets in advance. If there are sold out there is another possibily to enter. You can go directly to the main entrance of the national park and book a guided tour. I would generally recommend a official tour guide to see the animals in the park. Without it is really hard to see. After the tour you can stay all day long at the beach. So dont forget your swim things. Attention!!! On the way (street) to the parking slot you will be stopped by many people. They act (show an fact id) like they are tour guides from the national park but they are not offically. They try to sell you tours 2 to 3 times more than the offically prices. Be aware of this and dont buy tickets there. You can easily do this at the main entrance (also when online is sold out) or online.
The walk to the beach was hot and humid (great anticipation) only to get to the beach and see how amazing the waves looked with a gorgeous view south
This beach is probably one of the best in the world. If you’re lucky enough to be here right when the sun is out then it’s your lucky day. The water is warm and there are jungle leaves floating in it which makes it feel magical. The white sand paired with the stunning jungle create the perfect scene. AND there are capuchin monkeys loitering around.
This beach has next level beauty. The Pacific has an emerald hue here. It gets very busy however, as it is attached to the most popular National Park in Costa Rica. My advice would be to go early and before your tour of the National Park to avoid the crowds. I visited here after the tour, and as the park rangers police this beach, they very forcefully make sure you are on your way home by 4pm. They blow their whistles loudly and continuously, which is kind of annoying. It does not take away from the stunning unspoiled natural beauty of this place. There is no plastic allowed on entry which is great, so you will be relieved of your plastic water bottle should you have one. They allowed me to bring my snorkelling gear in thankfully. The water is lovely and clear, so there is fish to see, but I ran out of time to really make the most out of that, due to that 4pm cut off. The sand is lovely and soft with a tint of black in there. There are also rinsing facilities and toilets behind the beach. The black iguanas co-exist side by side with people on this beach, that it becomes the norm after a while. Be careful of the many capuchin monkeys who will appear out of the rainforest, and are determined to steal your small items if given the chance.
A must while visiting the National park. Get there early and enjoy a quieter beach and the warm waters of the Pacific. You’re guaranteed to see wildlife, but don’t bring any food to avoid the monkeys helping themselves.

We loved this beach. It is a little remote and requires a hike to get to. The views are great! The beach is nice and the water is in a bit of a cove so there's waves but they're not huge. There are vendors renting chairs and coverings as well as fresh made drinks that are great. There's even a lady giving massages under a tent up on the rocks directly overlooking the beach which we didn't try. No one is too pushy but are all friendly. The only downside is there's a decent amount of rocks out in the water if you wear water shoes or sandals it's fine. Barefoot was a bit tough on my tender feet .
Maybe we were unlucky, but we got this beach recommended and did not really like it that much. There were sooo many people and almost no room to lie down. Water was quite muddy. The hike to get there is long and we regretted not wearing hiking boots as it was very slippery and in a very bad condition. Maybe due to previous rain.
The beach is alright the waves are calm there are however many rocks and the path down is muddy and also full of rocks, the water is nice and green/aquamarine and has a great view of the bay.
Very beautiful and peaceful quiet beach where you could spend the first part of the day. After 2-3pm tide arrives and there is not much space where water doesn’t reach. Highly recommend to visit!
Gorgeous hidden beach. We kayaked in the bay and enjoyed swimming in the calm waters. Plenty of shade.
Secluded beach in Manuel Antonio, accessible only by car. way much quieter than the main beach. The path down can be a bit challenging and the water is quite rocky so caution is needed.
Such a beautiful place! It only takes about five minutes to walk down the rocky path to the beach. It wasn't too busy when we went, and we were able to rent chairs and order delicious piña coladas from the bar. They have snorkels, kayaks, and paddle boards able to rent, and there was a woman giving massages under a tent. We also saw lots of monkeys in the trees. The water was very calm and we were lucky to get a beautiful sunny day in the rainy season. Highly recommend if you're looking for a beach that's not too busy but still has amenities!!
Lots of rocks underwater on the left side of the beach, but sandy on the right. Waves aren’t crazy, but can push you around enough to make the rocky side uncomfortable. You can rent chairs and covering (umbrella or tent) $20 for as long as you stay. Drinks are available with decent prices. Food was also available, but the price was restaurant equivalent. Lots of kids, so seemingly kid friendly.

Beautiful beach and loved the walk though the park.
Probably the best spot to relax after a walk in Manuel Antonio. There is rocks there everywhere so be careful and I really recommend bringing those rock shoes. It isn't that far away and has very warm water and almost no waves compared to the Escondido beach which is another beach in Manuel Antonio. If you don't really like rocks and want calmer water you can go to the main Manuel Antonio beach but there will be quite a lot more people there.
Nice beach with few iguanas lying on the rocks. End of November no point in snorkeling.
We went late afternoon on 26 December and it was empty - full of beach crabs , huge iguanas and maybe even small crocodile spotted ? Wavy sea . A tad rocky . But very private and wild feel
Calm beach inside the park. I liked it more than the public beach as there were no vendors trying to get you to buy stuff and I felt safer in there overall. Also spotted a couple of iguanas in there. Watch out for monkeys and racoon trying to go into your bags.
Beautiful beach, located in the Manuel Antonio National Park. The walk through the National Park has several routes which are are worth visiting. This beach in particular is very nice, the view it's imazing from this beach. You can see lots of iguanas on the beach, climbing on the trees. Don't feed them and be careful if you eat and they see you eat, they will try to take your food. A friend of mine was eating a sandwich when a iguana flew from a tree and has stolen the sandwich. We did not know these creatures were flying jajaja. Apart from iguanas and monkeys we didn't see any other animals on the Park on that day. Very touristic place, I guess animals go somewhere else higher into the mountains or hide when there are too many people around.
Probably the most wonderful beach I have ever been to. Great place to relax for a day or two. Remember to bring everything you need as there is nothing but sand, trees, rock and water around. And a lot of animals of course.
Beautiful. Wild life is everywhere. Must go if you are in Manuel Antonio national park.

Fantastic animal trails and beaches. Make sure to buy tickets online in advance. We saw monkeys, Halloween Crabs, white tail deer, hermit crabs, abs and
This is not the official parking, despite their claims. In fact, the national park doesn't have an official parking at all. They charge $10 for parking, which isn’t too bad, but they only accept cash. They also try to sell you their tours, but if you plan ahead, you can book them directly through the national park for a lower price. I ended up parking closer to the park at a location that offered cheaper tours and accepted credit cards.
BEWARE SCAM!!! The so-called “Welcome Center” near the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park is a well-orchestrated tourist trap and absolutely not affiliated with the official park. It is intentionally designed to look like a legitimate visitor center, but it is completely unauthorized. As you approach the area, aggressive workers dressed as tour guides will flag down vehicles in the road, pressuring visitors to pull over. Once you are stopped they will literally start opening your car door. They falsely claim that you are REQUIRED to park there and that they are the “official” tour guides of the park- NONE OF THIS IS TRUE. We were misled into believing this was the only way to access the park and reluctantly paid for what was promised to be a 1 hour 45-minutes to 2-hour guided tour. While our guide was polite and knowledgeable, the actual tour lasted just about an hour and the blatant dishonesty leaves a negative blemish on this beautiful country and its people. It’s important to know that the real entrance to the national park is further ahead. There is free street parking and other private lots. Do not pay more than $10 USD for parking. Once past the security checkpoint, you have access to paid lockers and can hire certified guides directly without falling victim to high-pressure tactics and incomplete service. This experience left us feeling deceived and frustrated. Don’t make the same mistake we did. Keep driving past this fake “Welcome Center” and go directly to the official entrance.
The real Welcome Center is INSIDE the gates of Manuel Antonio. There is no official parking for the park. Locals warned us against those guys, ignore them and find a parking elsewhere. Book a tour ahead of time with an authorized guide. You can find the phone number and email to book those on the SINAC website.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! We were driving to the Manual Antonio National park when we were flagged down and asked if we were heading to the park, we said yes, the man said he was an official guide and told us the pricing to enter the park. We didn’t know any different as he had on a badge stating official park guide. He discusses the pricing with us and I felt it was high at $160.00 for 3 adults and 2 kids but I didn’t know any different. I paid him and he escorted us over to an SUV, he then gave the money to the women in the suv said something in Spanish and off we went. She then handed $50.00 to some other guy said some Spanish and told us that he would take us to the park. He then took us to the park and gave us 3 tickets for the adults apparently under 12 is free. The total for the there tickets was $48.00. The guide took us on a tour of the park (by the way the guide didn’t work for this company) and he was great. He showed us the monkeys, sloths and history of the park. When it came to the end I asked him how we would get back to our car. He asked me how much I payed I told him $160.00, he told me his cost is $20.00 and to get in the park was $48.00 so I overpaid by $92.00. These guys are con artists and a rip off. Don’t trust them one bit. I wish someone would have posted to watch out for these guys. We couldn’t be the first family this has happened to.
This is a SCAM!!!! Just park your car on the side of the road, so you don’t have to pay anything. Walk to the official gate of the NP and buy your tickets online in advance.
I think this website is a little misleading. If you’re thinking this is An official Manuel Antonio guise group it isn’t. MA doesn’t have guides, all the tour operators are private. I booked our tour specifically trough this website thinking it would ensure our enterence into the park as it “only allows 600-800 people a day” when we got there the rep from this company said unfortunately the park was closed because it had reached capacity. I had talked to them the day before asking when it’s okay to arrive and they said any time is okay. So it was pretty irritating when we got there and they said we couldn’t come in. Lucky for us somehow we did get in(the government or someone decides how many people to let in per day? Still not exactly sure how this works) and honestly the tour was great from then on. I appreciate the communication and I liked our guide. I think you should go for the private tour if you can for sure. Too many people with the regular tour. So overall I think the website is misleading but the people are great. Thank you. And just know booking with this site will not ensure you entrance to the park. Get there before 10.
Total disappointment. The person at the entrance in uniform first communicate with someone on the phone and that told us that the entrance to the park is only with the guide for $75 each. It is a total scam!!!

Had a blast! This was a very fun & relaxing afternoon. I wish I could remember all the guys on our trip. Kevin and the cook!! All them were awesome and made sure everyone was having a good time! I love just floating in the water. We had fun, music, dancing, drink & food. Our dinner was outstanding!! Grilled Mahi Mahi, pasta, & veggies. I highly recommend Planet Dolphin Catamaran.
We had a fantastic time!! The boat was clean and made us feel safe. The guides were great and ready to meet our every need. The water was beautiful and the dolphins were cute! I would highly recommend this!! Guide Dickson was the best
What a fun day. We are a family of four with two teenagers. We loved this trip. Getting to see the coastline as you cruise around is beautiful. The staff on board were friendly and welcoming. They went around and made sure everyone was having a great time. The fish served for lunch was delicious. Thank you for a great trip.
This was an great outing that myself, wife, and son fully enjoyed. The sites were beautiful, the ocean was perfect, and the crew were a delight. Got to swim in the ocean, and enjoy delicious food and drinks on the boat. Highly recommend this excursion.
We had a great time on the planet dolphin catamaran. Our 3 hr excursion fortunately has great weather (after days of rain). The boat was beautiful and big equipped with 2 fun slides. We went snorkeling and had a great meal. We especially found Steven one of the crew men so helpful. Our 23 yr old son is a bit nervous on boats and he was so kind and helpful to him (and to all of us) all the way to helping us find our van back to our hotel when we got lost. We had a great time.
An unforgettable trip! We saw dolphins, whales, and turtles up close. The food was excellent, and the boat itself is beautiful. I especially enjoyed jumping from the second floor more than using the slide. The crew was outstanding: highly competent, gave clear explanations, prioritized safety, and were incredibly attentive throughout. Highly recommended!
An amazing cruise - everything that you want from a cruise and more! Fabulous and friendly crew, informative commentary, cocktail drinks (included), delicious food (fish skewers & pasta), snorkeling, water slide as well as pick up and drop off to accommodation. We saw dolphins and whales and the sunset was beautiful. Unfortunately I lost my ring when snorkeling, unbelievably and amazingly, Jorge (a free diver crew member) found my ring on the seabed 10 metres below! Absolute highlight for me! 💍 Gracias Jorge! 🙏🏻
Totally worth it to go on this trip! The sea is absolutely beautiful. Saw the dolphins... They offer all you can drink services (including alcohols....)! The slides were fun... The crew were super friendly! The food was good too! All the friends want to come back for more next time they visit Costa Rica!
