Manuel Antonio Beach, located within Manuel Antonio National Park, offers a picturesque sandy stretch where visitors can enjoy swimming while being surrounded by lush trees filled with monkeys and various bird species. The park spans seven square miles and boasts an incredible biodiversity, including capuchin monkeys, iguanas, crabs, sloths, pelicans, frogs, butterflies, and a variety of birds. Local guides enhance the experience by providing insights into the diverse wildlife.
So fun to be on this beach with all the locals! Get off the resorts and mingle — you’ll have an amazing experience! We stayed at the Millennium Hotel this time. You can walk right to the beach from there. You can get cabanas and surfing lessons — there’s parasailing and lots of restaurants.

My favorite beach in Costa Rica. Parking should cost you around $6-$8 per day Chair and umbrella rental about $8-$10 for a pair. Follow the safety guidelines and listen to the lifeguards. Pay attention to the flags as this is one of the beaches with the strongest rip ties.
Cecia A — Google review
Had the perfect beach day here. Perfect weather, lots of shade, clear blue water, and the wildlife and scenery is unmatched.
Lily B — Google review
For me one of the best beaches in whole Costa Rica for relaxing and especially swimming. It is part ot the national park of Manuel Antonio so you really need to book your tickets in advance. If there are sold out there is another possibily to enter. You can go directly to the main entrance of the national park and book a guided tour. I would generally recommend a official tour guide to see the animals in the park. Without it is really hard to see. After the tour you can stay all day long at the beach. So dont forget your swim things. Attention!!! On the way (street) to the parking slot you will be stopped by many people. They act (show an fact id) like they are tour guides from the national park but they are not offically. They try to sell you tours 2 to 3 times more than the offically prices. Be aware of this and dont buy tickets there. You can easily do this at the main entrance (also when online is sold out) or online.
Michael B — Google review
The walk to the beach was hot and humid (great anticipation) only to get to the beach and see how amazing the waves looked with a gorgeous view south
Lagan P — Google review
This beach is probably one of the best in the world. If you’re lucky enough to be here right when the sun is out then it’s your lucky day. The water is warm and there are jungle leaves floating in it which makes it feel magical. The white sand paired with the stunning jungle create the perfect scene. AND there are capuchin monkeys loitering around.
Farzad A — Google review
The park itself is beautiful, but the staff behaved terribly. First, we had to wait in line under the sun while the staff at the bag check and ticket entrance moved like sleepy — or even dying — flies. They were all about “Pura Vida” — fine, but this was just careless. Then, our 3-year-old wanted to buy a coconut right outside the entrance. We weren’t allowed to enter the park with it — okay, fair enough — but we also weren’t allowed to throw it away in their eco trash bin. I had to leave and walk half a block just to throw away a damn coconut. And then came the most absurd part: at the beach, our toddler caught a tiny crab and released it. A security guard saw this and tried to kick us out of the park. It was ridiculous and humiliating. We tried to calmly explain ourselves, but the guard called in three more people over the radio — none of whom spoke English — and all four of them started escorting me, my husband, and our small child out of the park. They followed us all the way to the exit. Honestly, there’s no need to visit this place for the animals — you’ll see sloths, toucans, monkeys, crabs, and iguanas on any Manuel Antonio beach. And as for spotting anything else — I doubt there’s much more to see inside anyway. Playa Blanca, located not far from Jacó, is far more beautiful — the water is calmer, the sand is whiter, and the scenery is much more impressive. So no, I absolutely don’t recommend paying to be treated this way.

This beach has next level beauty. The Pacific has an emerald hue here. It gets very busy however, as it is attached to the most popular National Park in Costa Rica. My advice would be to go early and before your tour of the National Park to avoid the crowds. I visited here after the tour, and as the park rangers police this beach, they very forcefully make sure you are on your way home by 4pm. They blow their whistles loudly and continuously, which is kind of annoying. It does not take away from the stunning unspoiled natural beauty of this place. There is no plastic allowed on entry which is great, so you will be relieved of your plastic water bottle should you have one. They allowed me to bring my snorkelling gear in thankfully. The water is lovely and clear, so there is fish to see, but I ran out of time to really make the most out of that, due to that 4pm cut off. The sand is lovely and soft with a tint of black in there. There are also rinsing facilities and toilets behind the beach. The black iguanas co-exist side by side with people on this beach, that it becomes the norm after a while. Be careful of the many capuchin monkeys who will appear out of the rainforest, and are determined to steal your small items if given the chance.

National park
Manuel Antonio National Park is a vast coastal rainforest reserve teeming with diverse wildlife and marine species. Visitors can enjoy guided hikes, kayaking in the Isla Damas Mangroves, and nocturnal wildlife sightings on a Jungle Night Walk. The park offers various activities such as sea kayaking and catamaran cruises. It is well-connected to Central Highlands, Arenal, Monteverde, South Pacific, and Osa Peninsula.
Manuel Antonio National Park was one of the highlights of our trip. We saw sloths, monkeys, tiny frogs, colorful crabs, and so much more. The park is stunning, with lush trails, mangroves, and breathtaking coastal views. We visited in August and were blessed with cool weather and no rain, despite a forecast for showers all day. The morning is the best time to go—get there as early as possible (we recommend by 8 AM) to enjoy the park before it gets crowded. Be sure to book your reservation in advance. We changed into swimsuits before reaching the first beach and spent a couple of hours playing in the calm waves—perfect for kids. Afterward, we showered to rinse off the sand. I stayed in my swim dress for the rest of the hike, while others changed into dry clothes. I wore Teva sandals, but other family members wore walking shoes. Tips: • No spray sunscreen or bug spray is allowed inside—rangers check bags at the entrance. • No outside food is permitted, but there’s a small restaurant inside for snacks and drinks. • The mangrove areas are beautiful and fun to explore, especially for kids. • Bring binoculars for the best wildlife viewing. • Don’t wear your swimsuit under your clothes on the hike in—it’s humid, and you’ll be glad to change before swimming. Manuel Antonio is a must-do when in Costa Rica. The combination of wildlife, natural beauty, and beach time made it an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend getting a tour guide like we did—you’ll see and learn so much more.

Trails are great, overall experience is satisfying. We saw almost all birds and animals there. It’s better to come in the very morning(7am) not to encounter too many people and to see more animals. Didn’t like guides there at all, they are very mean, rude and annoying. If you are enough attentive, you could spot all animals on your own, just check any crowd of people watching smth)) also be aware of monkeys on a beach, they can steal your stuff if you leave it on the ground.
Alex V — Google review
One of the best parks to visit in Costa Rica and a recommended spot for anyone visiting the country. Entrance fees can be paid ahead of time online(recommended). When you’re driving up be weary of unofficial people offering you tickets and guides. Additionally, the park does offer guides but I always opt for the self service tour. The park has an amazing nature trail that leads to a beautiful beach. Keep walking down the beach for another hike with some great overlooks and monkeys!
Adam T — Google review
Beautiful mix of rainforest, beaches, and wildlife. You can spot monkeys, sloths, and colorful birds along easy trails that end at stunning beaches. Go early to avoid crowds and heat. Small but unforgettable, one of Costa Rica’s must-see gems.
David V — Google review
Beautiful place. Fantastic guides able to spot an iguana or a snake from a hundred paces. Great knowledge and superb telescopic lenses to see howler monkeys, bats, etc up close. The park has stunning beaches.
Jackie G — Google review
Super rad experience, we saw almost every animal and bug you could on one tour through this magical hike to the beach! Then we hiked more! There is a spot where the puma lives, of course we took that trail too!!! No puma but so worth it! My legs look so good after that mean hike! FYI take the beach route back! Do not just go the same way back! It is worth it!
Carmelo B — Google review
Great place to see sloths and monkeys. The path is level and an easy walk most of the way. I was able to do it even with a knee injury and going at a slow pace. Beware of guides charging for tours. We were charged for a 2 hour tour that only lasted an hour. You will definitely need a guide with a scope so do your research and use a reputable tour guide service or get them once you enter the park. The beach is about about an hour walk into the park and you can not bring in food..drinks...sunscreen..check the list online before you go. It is best to bring a refillable water bottle with water in it as you are not allowed to bring in bottled water and buying food or water there is challenging. There is only one stand for the entire park and the line was ridiculously long. The beach is okay for a few quick pictures, but not anywhere I'd stay for an extended time. The sand area is not very wide so you risk having all your stuff get wet when waves come in. This happened to several family's in the short time I was there. The beach is also mostly covered in branches, twigs and dead leaves. The waves coming in can be rough and it was pretty crowded for a small beach. Overall definitely do the trails with a guide if you are looking to see any nature.
B P — Google review
We saw incredible wildlife and swam at lovely beaches! You must buy park tickets online in advance. $13 I think. We had to pay for parking too. In June it wasn’t as terribly crowded as we had been warned. It’s a national park after all, so it was slightly busy but not terrible. I recommend arriving by the 7am opening to avoid crowds and oppressive heat. The guide we hired for the first 2 hours of our visit was the best $30/pp we’ve ever spent. He spotted so many animals we never would have seen, was super knowledgeable, and let us look and take incredible pictures through his powerful scope. We wore long sleeves/pants but there really weren’t any mosquitoes and we did get quite hot. The beaches were a bit crowded but lovely. Don’t forget your swimsuit, towel, and flip flops! I recommend the lollipop trail down by the beaches, as it is where you will see dozens of white-faced capuchin monkeys at close range. You are not allowed to bring food into the park but the food there was terrible, like really bad, and around lunchtime the line got crazy long. There is potable water.

Espadilla Beach is a picturesque stretch of sandy coastline that offers various water sports, lounge chairs, umbrellas, and a shaded cafe nestled among the trees. While many tourists tend to visit the park's main beaches, such as Playa Espadilla Sur and Playa Manuel Antonio, there are other hidden gems worth exploring.
We spent almost 3 hours here, warm waters, soft sand, amazing sunset. The kids enjoyed the warm waters. We did pay to rent beach chairs and a canopy.
Sheleen T — Google review
Beautiful beach with rocks and a long shoreline. A lifeguard is also there as the rip currents can get bad. Lots of tide pools when it's low tide. Close to shops and restaurants and Manuel Antonio national park.
Tyler B — Google review
Beautiful beach. When visiting, park around the Igloo Beach Lodge. It’s free and there are no pushy parking attendants. There are some vendors walking around on the beach, but they peacefully continue when you decline.
Hendrik D — Google review
We had an amazing time at Playa Espadilla Norte in Quepos during our May visit. This stunning beach offered the perfect balance—waves that were exciting yet manageable, though it's important to stay vigilant as Costa Rican beaches can have powerful rip tides. The beach atmosphere was lively with local vendors offering fresh coconut drinks, horseback riding experiences, and handmade clothing. The vendors were respectful and moved on politely when we declined their services. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. We recommend bringing your own beach towel, though chairs and umbrellas are available to rent at reasonable prices. We lucked out with beautiful weather before the rainy season kicked in, making it a memorable beach day.
Travel W — Google review
Loved this beach! We got drinks from a vendor at the entrance of the beach and had a great early afternoon on the beach. There’s an LGBTQ beacon towards the middle of this beach and I wish I had more energy to check it out! Looks like they’re building a LGBTQ resort nearby. If you don’t have a car, I recommend going to the southern end of the beach more towards Manuel Antonio national park because this area is more for guests who are parking on the beach. The fumes from the trucks weren’t pleasant.
Megan B — Google review
I visited every single beach from Uvita to Playa Hermosa near Jaco and this one is simply the best (excluding one beach inside of the Manuel Antonio NP). Good vibes, multiple islands on the horizon, beautiful sand and great waves to play with your friends or children. Very safe with beautiful sunsets!
Jerry F — Google review
Public parking near Buena Vista Plus hotel. The beach is clean and beautiful. You can get everything you need for a full day here. Chairs, umbrellas, boogie board rentals. Sure lessons, and restaurants right on the beach for drinks and food.
Mabeo H — Google review
Beautiful beach and warm water with nice waves. However, the amount of people harassing for parking, catamaran/surf lessons or just anything you can think of selling is unbearable. Very disorganized area overall and lack of security/proper government guidance around tourism.

Playa Las Gemelas is a beautiful and calm beach located in Manuel Antonio National Park. It offers stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere, making it a great place to relax for a day or two. The beach is known for its crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling to see colorful marine life. Visitors can also enjoy the sight of iguanas climbing on trees but should be cautious as they may try to snatch food.
Beautiful beach and loved the walk though the park.

Probably the best spot to relax after a walk in Manuel Antonio. There is rocks there everywhere so be careful and I really recommend bringing those rock shoes. It isn't that far away and has very warm water and almost no waves compared to the Escondido beach which is another beach in Manuel Antonio. If you don't really like rocks and want calmer water you can go to the main Manuel Antonio beach but there will be quite a lot more people there.
Max V — Google review
Nice beach with few iguanas lying on the rocks. End of November no point in snorkeling.
Dani K — Google review
We went late afternoon on 26 December and it was empty - full of beach crabs , huge iguanas and maybe even small crocodile spotted ? Wavy sea . A tad rocky . But very private and wild feel
MNML J — Google review
Calm beach inside the park. I liked it more than the public beach as there were no vendors trying to get you to buy stuff and I felt safer in there overall. Also spotted a couple of iguanas in there. Watch out for monkeys and racoon trying to go into your bags.
Xiaodan D — Google review
Beautiful beach, located in the Manuel Antonio National Park. The walk through the National Park has several routes which are are worth visiting. This beach in particular is very nice, the view it's imazing from this beach. You can see lots of iguanas on the beach, climbing on the trees. Don't feed them and be careful if you eat and they see you eat, they will try to take your food. A friend of mine was eating a sandwich when a iguana flew from a tree and has stolen the sandwich. We did not know these creatures were flying jajaja. Apart from iguanas and monkeys we didn't see any other animals on the Park on that day. Very touristic place, I guess animals go somewhere else higher into the mountains or hide when there are too many people around.
Ralu P — Google review
Probably the most wonderful beach I have ever been to. Great place to relax for a day or two. Remember to bring everything you need as there is nothing but sand, trees, rock and water around. And a lot of animals of course.

Beach
Playa Playitas, also known as Playitas Beach, is considered the best beach in Manuel Antonio. It's a long and private beach with perfect sand and water, ideal for surfing. The large rock formations make for great photo opportunities. However, parking can be limited and there may be attempts to charge for parking. Visitors recommend driving past people to haggle the price or using the limited paid parking available.
Love it - there's natural shade by the trees where you can see monkeys and sloths. Dogs allowed. The water can be rough though. May need 4X4 in rainy season to go all the way down but it's a very nice walk otherwise.
Pat B — Google review
Parking here is free! And any area in this road! Don’t let any one to charge you, Watch the almond trees you’ll find sloths, macaws, monkeys. Drive slow there are animals crossing too. Some times the road is bad because the rainy season so be sure ur car can climb back. 4x4 preferable or with our off road scooter is more fun
Mango S — Google review
A beautiful and peaceful beach. It is as well great for a relaxing (and long) walk along the shore. It’s a bit hard to reach (only with a 4x4!!!), but definitely worth the effort!
Jeanine T — Google review
This beach is clean, with low foot traffic and with lots of great sea shells and hermit crabs which the kids loved seeing. We found this quiet, peaceful beach spot only after trying out the main public beach area which we found chaotic. It’s a steep hill down but if you have a 4WD car you’ll be fine. You can park on the packed sand area for free since it’s a public beach. Lots of cars were parked there and so we just joined them and had no issues.
Jen T — Google review
A long beach acting as an extension of the Espadilla Beach closer to the town and Manuel Antonio National Park. The sand and water was perfect. The large rock formations make for great pictures. The waves were great for surfing. Parking is limited, we paid a guy $3 for all day parking.
TravelingGayPanda — Google review
This beach is a surfer's paradise! The Playa Playitas area offers a more secluded experience, free from vendors. As you head towards the Manuel Antonio reserve, the waters become calmer and more suitable for swimming, though it also more crowded .
Daphne J — Google review
Nice beach access away from the crowds. There’s a steep rocky road to access this beach, but you can park on the beach with ease. Sunsets Oct-early March are fantastic!

Escondido Beach is a picturesque cove located within Manuel Antonio National Park, surrounded by lush jungle and offering a sandy beach and swimming area. The park also provides access to other beautiful beaches like Manuel Antonio Beach and Espadilla Sur via low-intensity trails. While the beach is recommended for morning visits to avoid crowds, it's important to note that swimming may not be suitable due to rocky terrain and rough sea conditions. However, the stunning views make it worth a visit.
Incredibly picturesque beach. The sandy shores are encompassed by a forested jungle with some walking trails that make for easy exploration. Watch out for the raccoons because they will steal your bags! We resorted to storing ours in a tree while we swam in the ocean.
Zach S — Google review
Nice long beach in PN Manuel Antonio but there waves there are quite big. If your experienced it might be a cool place with nearly no one around but the waves and occasional strong currents is why no one really swims there.
Max V — Google review
Awesome beach with deer, sloths, Iguanas, and Pythons!

It’s a beautiful area, but the beach access is closed. You only find this out after walking down 25 meters of broken and damaged wooden stairs. There were plenty of opportunities to warn that the beach was closed and the broken stairs are just unacceptable!!

The Fringe Umbrella in Manuel Antonio is a charming spot that caters to breakfast, brunch, and lunch. The cozy cafe offers fantastic food and a great ambiance. They also organize special events like sunset beach dinners with bonfires, creating memorable experiences for guests. Despite being temporarily closed for renovations, they still offer services such as umbrella rentals and beach bonfires. Visitors have praised the delicious food options like ceviche, burritos, tacos, avocado toast, green juice, and fresh fruit.
I recently had the pleasure of witnessing a breathtaking sunset with The Fringe Umbrella and I must say, it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived at the beach, I was greeted by the lovely Madelyn who had everything setup for us. The setup was in a secluded part of the beach with the soothing sound of waves and the warm glow of the setting sun. The service provided by Heather and Madelyn was exceptional. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable experience. Whether it was offering refreshments, fruits, food, lighting the bonfire and s'mores. As for the setup and sunset itself, words cannot do justice to the sheer beauty of the scene. The sky was ablaze with hues of orange, pink, and gold, casting a mesmerizing glow over the tranquil waters. It was a moment of serenity and awe-inspiring beauty that will stay with me forever. The beach was clean and semi-private, with ample space for relaxation and enjoyment. In conclusion, my experience with The Fringe Umbrella was nothing short of magical. The service was outstanding, the sunset was breathtaking, and the ambiance was truly unforgettable. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a memorable beach experience.

We did a sunset beach dinner and bonfire with a group of people for a birthday celebration and The Fringe made the event so special for the birthday girl. They set us up with blankets and umbrellas and brought the food down to the beach. We had to move a few times due to the high tide, but that only dampened the experience literally, not in any other way. We enjoyed ceviche to start and then had burritos and tacos. The burritos were awesome, some of the best I had. The tacos were good too, but the burritos was where it was at! Hanging out with food and drinks and watching the sunset was really lovely, and the bonfire was a cool experience and attracted a crowd of passerbys who stopped to hang out with us. The Fringe also provided marshmallows for the fire, which was fun. Thanks for a nice sunset dinner and bonfire!

So lucky I found Heather, the team, and The Fringe Umbrella. Heather was very nice and communicative. Planning an event while in another country was very stressful but Heather made it easy! The beach set up was amazing and they were all so friendly. Shoutout to Madelyn for her work on the beach. Very pleased with the outcome of their work!!

Madelyn took care of us. Currently the restaurant is not open, they are making some changes during the down season. However she cooked us tacos, fruit plate, hotdogs, hamburgers, etc. We had a umbrella rental and bonfire. Sadly it rained at the end of the bonfire and we had to run for it, but we still had time to cook the smores on the beach beforehand. Well worth it, our entire group loved the experience. Also the beach bar and lodge next door provided drink service on the beach for us for both this night and the next.

I took my parents there for breakfast. The waiters where super duper slow with everything. After we waited 40min for our juices the 2 sandwiches that we also ordered where finished. So we just took it to go. But boy they where just smacked together. There was no love done to the food . Where super disappointed! For the price we paid it is not worth it at all. Im sorry to say!

Pleasantly surprised! I was a bit worry it would be a touristy place because of the gentleman on the street, trying to attract customers, but I was very wrong. The guy was super friendly, and so was the entire staff. They made sure we had a good time, good food, and were treated well. Can definitely recommend this one.

The food was great and the atmosphere is amazing. Staff were very helpful and attentive. I would recommend the lobster dinner and also the coconut flan. Top tier !

I walked by this restaurant multiple times, and every single time they had people working hard to sell the place, so I caved and went in. The food was honestly really great. I went during dinner when there were only 3 other small tables already dining and I got a great service, food took a while to arrive but that’s just Costa Rica. Everyone was friendly and they checked on me multiple times to refill my drink and to see if I wanted anything else. By the time I sat down and received my entree there was a couple who received the complete opposite treatment. They were essentially ignored after the entire time. Once they finally worked up the courage to flag a server down for their checks it took more than 15 mins. This wouldn’t be an issue but there were 5 servers standing behind the couple’s table laughing and chatting up while the couple looked visibly frustrated. (Now I don’t know what happened prior to my arriving, i noted this so that you are aware that service may vary) I ordered the calamari appetizer and the Seafood fried rice. Both tastes fresh and good! The seafood rice only had shrimp and scallops with one mussels, for the price I would’ve wanted more variety and larger portions. The side of fries didn’t taste fresh or hot. Its a good place but nothing is peaking my interest to return again.

Went in February 2025. We walked from our hotel - El Faro. Service was awesome. My wife and I split the squid appetizer and whole snapper. Was very good. Lots of people and great vibe. Would go again.

Beach
Playa La Macha is a secluded and beautiful beach located near Quepos, accessible by a short walk and hike. It's known for its seclusion and pristine natural surroundings, making it a popular spot for those looking to escape the crowds. Accessible by 4x4 or a challenging jungle hike, the beach offers stunning views and opportunities to observe wildlife in the Manuel Antonio Jungle. Visitors should be prepared for a steep and rough trail with significant elevation gain on the return trip.
Beautiful secluded beach. We were told it was nude-friendly although there weren’t any completely naked people here when we went. A bit of a hike to get there, so make sure you have comfortable hiking shoes, especially for the last part of the hike to the beach. From the sign in the picture, you can drive down a little farther (an SUV or vehicle with 4-wheel drive is recommended). There is a point on the trail where you can’t drive any farther. We did see a couple on a motorbike with wheels with good tread on them make it all the way to the point where the steep hike to the beach starts, but most people hike on foot the whole way. The hiking trail splits, so make sure you make a right to go to La Macha beach. Before going down the steep trail, there is a pathway on the left that has a nice overlook of the ocean. We accidentally went that way before going down the trail to the beach. You know you’re on the right trail when we see the ropes that help you get down to the beach. This part of the trail is VERY steep (flip flops not recommended). I was wearing Chacos the whole hike. Once you get down to the beach, enjoy the peace and calm. No vendors here. Every group we saw kept to themselves. If you want a quiet and secluded beach and don’t mind the hike to get there, this beach is definitely worth the trip. Make sure you have enough energy to climb back up the trail as it is pretty much all uphill. I would recommend packing at least water and a few snacks on your trip to and from this beach.
Harley C — Google review
The end of the hike is extremely steep with only 1 rope which is about 15 feet to go down maybe 100 ft drop off which is smooth dirt. I am sure the beach is amazing but our kids were not prepared for a serious climb. I would suggest if you have any mobility issues or kids under 10 to not attempt.
Nikki C — Google review
This beach is incredibly stunning and secluded. As many have mentioned, reaching it involves quite a challenging hike. If you're accustomed to moderate hikes in North America, you should manage just fine. However, be warned if you plan to hike in extreme heat. It was 36 degree the day of the hike, and my partner almost passed out on the way back up. Bring plenty of water and limit the time spent under the sun. It's worth mentioning, though, despite some reviews suggesting otherwise, I doubt this beach is clothing optional. There were no signs indicating such, and all visitors during my time there were fully clothed. It's a shame, as it would have been wonderful to skinny dip and immerse oneself in nature at this magnificent beach. Nonetheless, you should have a wonderful time here at Playa La Macha.
Vu D — Google review
After travelling for over a week on the pacific coast, I can say that this is the best beach we went. The place is quiet and beautiful, there’s a short hike that makes it feel like a reward, and if you bring food you can stay there all day and watch the sunset. Also perfect for swimming nude, it even had some “clothing optional” signs
Pablo O — Google review
Great little secluded beach at the edge of the city. Be ready for a short hike with a lot of elevation gain on your way back. Also the trail is decent except for the final decent down to the beach.
Shawn C — Google review
This was a beautiful place. Tons of wildlife & quiet. Always waking up to a beautiful view. -4 them is I think there was some false advertising as far as location and walk to the beach. The beach itself with which they claim you can get to by 5 minutes of walking and only walking. Was actually a hike that takes you about 15 to 20 minutes of jagged slippery rocks and mud. The food was great every morning having breakfast of fresh fruit. The home was always cared for and clean. They do need to possibly pave the driveway or I should say the road up to the home as it is Rocky bumpy hard to drive through if you have a rental car or do not have a 4 by 4.
M. M — Google review
Perfect hidden secluded beach. You have to go early in the morning before noon-ish when the high tides roll in. There is quite a trail about 15 minutes before you get to the beach. I suggest you have good shoes because the trail is a little rough. Worth the walk though! Glad we did it!
Anna Y — Google review
Didn't make it all the way to the beach due to not wearing the correct footwear to traverse the last 100ft down (steep incline with ropes halfway, and slippery dirt path) but the beach was secluded, minimal rocks in sand. Advice, plan for at least half a day stay to make it worth the hike. Wear footwear with good traction that will stay on the feet (no sandals). As others have said, elevation gain coming back up is steep.

The warm ocean breeze and crystal-clear waters create a perfect setting for this thrilling activity. The company is well-organized and ensures safety with a confident and knowledgeable team. Visitors can expect a breathtaking view from high above, making it an unforgettable and safe adventure.
Really fun! They have great staff, and it's pretty affordable for 6 people. I did the 15 minute package for 2 groups of 3 + a 30 minute jet ski rental. It cost about $700 for that, and I think that is super reasonable for the amazing experience they deliver. They were very friendly and accommodating.

Awesome day!!! The parasailing was super relaxing and gorgeous views. Miguel knew we wanted more adventure and understood the assignment. We ended up renting two jet skis and toured around the pacific coast of Manuel Antonio and it was truly a moment of a lifetime!!! Thanks, Miguel and team for making our last day in Costa Rica the most memorable!

I went parasailing for my birthday last week and I say this was THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! The staff were so nice and knowledgeable!! The owner and I have the same name so I knew I was in good hands. Everything from the take off, to the ride, to the landing was great. I felt safe and I enjoyed every minute. I went up with my friend. She got motion sick and we had to come down early. This company was so amazing they offered to take me back up by myself!!! I was totally blown away with that offfer! This place is 10/10 would recommend!!! Look no further if you want to parasail!!

Our family of 6 had the most amazing time parasailing and jet skiing. Miguel and his team were very attentive and most accommodating. We were picked up and dropped off from our Airbnb. We were never rushed or pressured into any activities. Great customer service and we will definitely be using Aguas Azules any time we’re back in Manuel Antonio area. If you’re hesitant about booking your excursion, don’t. Just do it and it’s definitely worth it.

Simply the best! This was hands down the best experience. We did the triple (grandparents plus 8 year old). No drama. Very safe. Well explained and no surprises. Our grandson said it was “amazing”. We went off the beach and landed gently in the water where we were picked up by a jetski. So well done. No need for concern at any point. Thank you to all the wonderful staff associated with this business. Charlie says thank you!

They even addressed any questions or concerns I had with patience and understanding. Their commitment to safety made me feel comfortable and confident before I even took off. A Smooth Takeoff and Breathtaking Views: The actual parasailing experience was fantastic. The crew ensured a smooth launch and landing, and the equipment felt top-notch. Once airborne, the views were absolutely breathtaking. Soaring high above the water, I could see for miles and take in the stunning scenery. Perezoso Coffee House is a bistro-style place offering delicious sandwiches, salads, and breakfast options. The smoothies and coffee are highly recommended, and the staff is known for being super friendly. Visitors have raved about the flavorful and fresh dishes, with warm and friendly service that goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The Angus burger, sirloin sandwich, Caesar salad, pasta, natural shakes, and coffee are among the favorites here.
Considering the close proximity to Manuel Antonio natural park, the prices were cheap. Decent portions and delicious flavours, a true Costa Rican "soda" place. Margaritas were really good too. 🍸 Highly recommended! 🌟

We stopped here after a day at the park! Is one of the few restaurants in town that I know with a more variegated and different menu! They have very nice vegan and vegetarian options! The service was extremely friendly and the location very clean and comfy! I recommend to try it!
Sara C — Google review
Buyer beware!! We felt scammed & very disappointed. They’re very clever in getting you in the restaurant and it all sounds great at the beginning. Very friendly conversation. But the scam is on! And be especially aware if you have any allergies. Here’s how it went tonight. First I ordered something they stated could be gluten/wheat free. No problem. So I ordered the wraps and started to eat them and realized this is wheat flour. It tasted like it and looked like it. So I called him over and he insisted it wasn’t several times. He even brought out Google Translate with the package he showed me and I proved it to him yet he kept insisting it was fine. Finally, he gave in and brought over some corn flour to remake it. They still charged me for it. 2nd: they “partner” with the clothing store next-door. They overcharge you even stating they’ll give you a 20% discount. I walked back in as if I wasn’t a restaurant customer and asked them how much a shirt I had just paid was. Sure enough, they overcharged me so I insisted on the difference back. Again, beware, if you go to the clothing+door next-door, you will not get a 20% discount. You’ll actually pay MORE than someone off the street. 3rd, we were told one price for a meal and then they charged us more at the till so just confirm what menu prices, including any special of day, to your final bill. Especially extra service charges. The portion sizes were less than other restaurants we have experienced. Worst restaurant experience in our 2-week trip.

Me and my family stop by for lunch after our visit to Manuel Antonio Park and It was the best decision. The place is very nice and the we love the decoration, we order hamburger pasta with seafood, casado, rice with shrimp and lobster and everything was delicious, the best meal in town and the service from the staff were great, they have the best natural smoothies and the Costa Rica Coffee is amazing, you have to try it. We are going to come back tomorrow again for dinner.
Allison L — Google review
What a scam! Make sure you check your bill, they over charged me 5,000 for the fish special after I confirmed twice the price, I was told 10,000 and they charged me 15,000, their reasoning is because I shared this meal! Really? This place is in cahoots with the souvenir store next door. We were 7 for dinner and we're told we would get a discount, 2 of us were actually overcharged and had to request some money back. Shameful! Outright lie and scam tourists who are trying to help their business!!!
Josee G — Google review
We had dinner and breakfast at this restaurant, and both were delightful. The menu includes a variety of options, including those for vegetarians or vegans. The pina coladas were tasty, as were the seafood rice and vegetable rice. At breakfast, the huevos rancheros were an absolute standout. There is a two-for-one cocktail special during part of the day. The space is relaxing and shaded, and the staff – especially Eduardo! – is welcoming and devoted to making sure your meal is excellent. Credit cards accepted.
Robbin D — Google review
Came in after being cajoled into playing shared-tricot football off the beach. The waiter ushered me in and offered a 2 for the price of 1 cocktail of my choice. I took a virgin pina colada and took on the mannerisms of the sloth as I sat, drank l, and enjoyed the midday heat. Feeling myself grow hungrier with each passing minute, I asked the waiter for his recommendation. He excitedly told me about the slew of fresh fish they prepare every day, and I decided to try the red snapper. It was on the pricier side, but i wanted to see whether the waiter in wuestion really had put his money where his mouth was. Long story short, I finished my red snapper extremely satisfied and satiated, ready to hurl myself at the steep climb to Costa Verde that lay ahead. Thanks so much for the excellent food and service, and my compliments to the chef!

Cathedral Point, also known as Punta Catedral, is a stunning 72-meter high land formation covered in lush rainforest. It was once an island but became connected to the mainland by the accumulation of sand, forming a geological feature called a tombolo. This isthmus is the centerpiece of Manuel Antonio National Park and offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and rocky islets that serve as nesting sites for brown boobies and pelicans.
Beautiful opportunity for hiking, some wildlife, read the information plaques about trees and flora, and views you will not experience from the beach areas!

Biesanz Beach is a hidden gem located just south of Quepos, offering visitors a tranquil escape with its crescent-shaped bay and soft sandy shores. This picturesque beach is shaded by trees and features shallow waters perfect for swimming, making it an ideal spot for families. The calm conditions here mean that large waves are rare, creating excellent opportunities for snorkeling and kayaking adventures.
We loved this beach. It is a little remote and requires a hike to get to. The views are great! The beach is nice and the water is in a bit of a cove so there's waves but they're not huge. There are vendors renting chairs and coverings as well as fresh made drinks that are great. There's even a lady giving massages under a tent up on the rocks directly overlooking the beach which we didn't try. No one is too pushy but are all friendly. The only downside is there's a decent amount of rocks out in the water if you wear water shoes or sandals it's fine. Barefoot was a bit tough on my tender feet .
John H — Google review
Maybe we were unlucky, but we got this beach recommended and did not really like it that much. There were sooo many people and almost no room to lie down. Water was quite muddy. The hike to get there is long and we regretted not wearing hiking boots as it was very slippery and in a very bad condition. Maybe due to previous rain.
Maiken H — Google review
The beach is alright the waves are calm there are however many rocks and the path down is muddy and also full of rocks, the water is nice and green/aquamarine and has a great view of the bay.
Juan W — Google review
Very beautiful and peaceful quiet beach where you could spend the first part of the day. After 2-3pm tide arrives and there is not much space where water doesn’t reach. Highly recommend to visit!

Gorgeous hidden beach. We kayaked in the bay and enjoyed swimming in the calm waters. Plenty of shade.

Secluded beach in Manuel Antonio, accessible only by car. way much quieter than the main beach. The path down can be a bit challenging and the water is quite rocky so caution is needed.
Halime Y — Google review
Such a beautiful place! It only takes about five minutes to walk down the rocky path to the beach. It wasn't too busy when we went, and we were able to rent chairs and order delicious piña coladas from the bar. They have snorkels, kayaks, and paddle boards able to rent, and there was a woman giving massages under a tent. We also saw lots of monkeys in the trees. The water was very calm and we were lucky to get a beautiful sunny day in the rainy season. Highly recommend if you're looking for a beach that's not too busy but still has amenities!!
Taylor M — Google review
Lots of rocks underwater on the left side of the beach, but sandy on the right. Waves aren’t crazy, but can push you around enough to make the rocky side uncomfortable. You can rent chairs and covering (umbrella or tent) $20 for as long as you stay. Drinks are available with decent prices. Food was also available, but the price was restaurant equivalent. Lots of kids, so seemingly kid friendly.
