Great work done here to transform the look of this place. I love the environment and they’re really doing a good job here. Proud of the fact that they’re doing all they can to preserve our history. The your guides are very much informed and the way they articulate facts is impressive. I love how neat the place is. I hope they keep it up. The Government should add more pleasant features to heighten the hype around this place. Will surely be back again.
Had a good tour guide! Choose to listen before pictures, you can always do that after the tour, immerse yourself in the history. I finished the tour more knowledgeable, and that's the point for this place. The NAB Voyage, AKA, the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum hosts deep history and remains of the late revered pan-african leader. Key moments were preserved in the museum, and his thoughts were inscribed on the walls of the gallery.
The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park beautifully honors Ghana’s founding father, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The architecture is striking, the grounds are well maintained, and the museum inside gives a powerful insight into Ghana’s journey to independence. The statues, fountains, and peaceful atmosphere make it both educational and reflective. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this place connects you to the soul of Ghana’s history. Highly recommend!
A beautiful display and museum honoring Ghana first president Kwame Nkrumah. When you arrive you pay an entrance fee about 100 cedis for adults and 30 for children. There are art pieces, videos, excerpts from his speeches and much more. The mausoleum where he and his wife lay is a beautiful architectural structure that stands in the middle of the park. It was a great tribute to their first leader of independence.
As a visitor from India, I found the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park deeply moving and historically rich. The serene layout, statues and museum all come together to honour the legacy of Ghana’s founding father. It was peaceful to stroll through the well-maintained grounds and learn about the country’s history. A must-see for anyone in Accra.
Former polo field, this site stands as a symbol of change and independence for the Ghanaian population. It is composed of the mausoleum and two museum floors. The grounds are also pleasant to walk around.
Outstanding service from our tour guide very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend you add this to your itinerary when you visit Ghana.
I took the Mrs and sons on a tour of the life of the first president of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah. Lovely museum and place to be, and much insightful guided tour.

Amazing place to relax in Ghana. Join us Explore the beautiful Beaches and site of Ghana @Guide Kophi Tours
Very busy and vibrant environment. I quite enjoyed the music and the food but did not like the hustling and people constantly trying to sell me things. Visited on a Sunday. Lots of bbq food items and drinks to choose from.
I went out with my friends. We are from the same class master degree from the university of Ouaga and we enjoy the place. It was a little bit high on price to get in, but we we had fun.
Nice beach — as with any beach, be careful with your belongings! Otherwise, it’s a great place to relax on a Sunday. Just don’t come too late, as the tide rises quickly throughout the day.
Beautiful area and fresh breeze but I was disappointed that who ever is running the place doesn't take much care of it in terms of cleaning and ensuring that it is well maintained, more so because there is an entry fee collected at the gate. Some parts did not feel safe because every vendor was trying to sell you something
This place is perfect place for locals but for me as an foreigner not the greatest and it's again I'm leaving angry. Nice atmosphere and can be very busy in weekends however if you are used to European beaches this one is not the place you come for relax. Avoid beach bars or at least make sure you keep eye on the prices and what you are eating. We drank about 5 origins, jollof rice and plate with yam, plantain, chicken. We paid total about 1430 Ghs(87£), which is madnes for shabby bar without even proper washroom. This is rip off and I'm not stepping to those beach bars again. This is very bad towards the people comming here. The beach itself is relatively clean only at the front but if we walked a little bit dead animals in sand and plastics doesn't represent this place good. I liked the music and that's it. Ghana has better beaches.
Horrible experience. They charged us $30cedis entry fee, $2 cedis to use the restrooms. Beach was dirty with bottles and plastic. Don’t waste your $$
I visited at night, so I didn’t get the chance to explore the beach, but I had such a wonderful time by the poolside lounge. The atmosphere was perfect with tasty food, refreshing cocktails, and cool music playing in the background. Such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I will definitely love to visit again!

The gardens are a special kind of serene. You really feel the amazing energy for the ancient trees standing within the grounds. It’s quite a large park so we were able to find our own little corner where we let off our 3 dogs without incident. The drive up is also spectacular, with panoramic views of the city below as you climb the mountain. On a clear day we’ve been told it’s possible to see all the way to the sea.
Aburi, less than one hour from Accra. The road is climbing up before arriving to the gardens. The entrance is 10cedi for Ghaneen and 20 for non Ghaneen. Not to much to see inside the park, you have done the tour in less than 30 minutes. Some peolpe spend the day with their kids or friends around a bbq.
Perfect for educational tourism and relaxation. Tall beautiful and special species of trees all around.
The beauty and tranquility is being taken over by Saturday funerals. The management should think twice about continuing with "funerals" inside the botanical gardens. Small-medium sized weddings with proper and constant clean up is a better set up for the environment. Funerals make a lot of noise and create waste/cups/napkins that are left all over the grassy areas.
Simply beautiful; the environment, the ambiance, the view and the impeccable floor plan. Its a must visit for anyone who loves nature. I admire the cleanliness of the place, its spacious and very child friendly. They also have a homey restaurant, with yummy meals at your disposal Let me know when you visit 😁
Nice place for 2-5 hours stay with kids or alone. A lot of shadow from high trees. Soft drinks, few cafes. Great green nature and few abandoned objects for one lime me 🙂
It’s a nice concept with the natures and beautiful atmosphere, trees and environment. The guide was very educated and knowledgeable apart from the nice service we got. :( it needs more attention and help. Toilet, restaurant facilities and a better system in general.
Serene and beautiful ambiance to be. I love the natural reserves and preservations. It’s a great experience driving on the road leading to this place. There are all types of plants over here with various uses. This is one of the best place to visit especially for a weekend hangout or a picnic☺️

The atmosphere here is inviting—it's truly the perfect spot to enjoy a delightful breakfast!
The burger I got was tasty, however the fries were stale, the milkshake was very awful. Tasted like creamer rather than milk. I have not had such an awful milkshake.
Burger King at JRCG+RPW, Accra, Ghana in the Accra Mall on the 2nd level. This is basically your typical fast food restaurant that you can find all across the world. 🍔🍟 I do have to admit, the hamburger did taste like a regular hamburger that I would get in America. 🇺🇸 The fish 🐟 sandwich was kind of small🤏, but tasted the same. The only weird thing about this establishment was that the computer system didn't seem to work. 💻 They were writing everything down. 📝 And like everywhere else, the staff did not seem to be that motivated. 😒 Overall, this place stayed busy the whole time we were there because it is a brand name that people trust. 👍
If you are looking for somewhere quiet to sit and work or just for discussion. This is the quietest place in the mall but unfortunately internet is so bad there. Go with enough data. Service is super speed and food very good
This place ticks most of the boxes for a reputable food brand. The offerings are nice (please, their chocolate milkshake is from heaven 😍) and the environment is so family friendly. I think they also have a small play area for toddlers (didn’t see it myself though). And it’s a no-brainer that the location is premium and great. However, they may actually be priced a bit too much considering the bulk of their target customers. Also I think they should look at their onion rings again, I didn’t quite like the one I had.
Not so much of anything new. Professional and courteous always. In my opinion, it's overpriced compared to other countries I've visited. I ordered for french fries 🍟 and chicken. The chicken was saltily grilled and I asked if the locals enjoy too much salt... I was so hungry so I had to make do with that
A very exceptional service and taste. A wee bit pricy but OK. I love the atmosphere here. The meal packs are very ideal for the clients use.

Amazing history and great stuff. You learn about the Stone Age. How Ghanaians lived way before Southern Civilization.
A wonderful place to find firsthand information about Ghana, it's origin, the people, and culture. Beautiful and handsome tour guides. For a national meseum, I expected a lot more from them, however, than they currently give. 7 out of 10 recommend!
The National Museum in Accra is relatively small and compact, making it easy to explore in a short amount of time. 80 Cedis Entrance fee for foreigners. While the exhibits themselves could be presented in a more engaging and visually impactful way, the real highlight of our visit was our guide, Mary (Adwoa). She brought the history and everyday life of the Ghanaian people vividly to life, sharing fascinating insights into their traditions and customs. Thanks to her storytelling skills and enthusiasm, the history of Ghana felt engaging and alive, turning what could have been a simple museum visit into a truly memorable experience.
Brilliant facility with varied history of Ghana, especially Ga and Asante customs/culture. Lots of great photo opportunities and knowledgable guides. The museum is not air conditioned but there are many fans for those sensitive to heat. Stand in the middle below the spider to hear a cool echo!
80 cedi/ 5 usd for foreign visitors. Love the wood craving and brass crafts. Not a big place. It’s nice to have a sip of coke at the restaurant right next to the museum in the hot afternoon.
I visited the National Museum of Ghana last Tuesday, and it was truly an enriching experience. The museum beautifully combines pictorial art, historical artifacts, and well-documented written history. Our tour guide gave us an in-depth overview with vivid explanations that were both engaging and highly educational. The entire place is neat, well-organized, and filled with fascinating historical information. I also appreciated the opportunity to ask questions and get detailed answers that deepened my understanding. One thing that stood out to me was the unique echo of our voices inside the museum—it added to the overall memorable experience. The museum also features a shop where you can purchase authentic African items such as bags, fans, slippers, apparel, and more. In addition, there’s a restaurant that serves meals, making it convenient for visitors to relax and refresh. This place is suitable for all ages, especially students who want to learn more about Ghana’s history. I highly recommend it to both locals and tourists—it’s definitely a must-visit.
Great place and great history of the Ghanaians,.a good place to visit while in Accra.
The national museum of Ghana is such a historic place to visit. The place offers both pictorial art and views as well as written history. The tour guide gave us an extensive overview and vivid explanations which was very educative. The place is neatly and well organized with great and historical information. I had the opportunity to ask questions and also I got the information I needed. The place is a must visit as I was intrigued by the echoes of our voices when we talked. There’s a shop that sells African stuffs, ranging from bags, fan, slipper, apparels etc. They also have a restaurant that offers meals as well. Suitable for all ages, especially school goers to know more history of the country. I highly recommend this place for visitors.

If you want to have an authentic experience in Accra this market is the place to be! Very chaotic and busy but worth it if you go early and avoid the midday heat. Enjoy a bit of bargaining and negotiating with the local traders. At this market they won't rip you off as its too busy to bother.
Opened market with just about everything from clothing, shoes, food, jewelry, cosmetics, electronics, etc. The down side is the the market is not very organized or compartmentalized. One has to walk long distances looking for goods and you just can't be sure where to find stuff.
This market was so crowded with many people but it made us so attractive when we bought something like kente clothes and smock.
So much on safe, great fabrics too...a yard goes for about 9 Cedi
The market place of Accra. A bit too crowdy. You have to be careful enough with your belongings and self. But you get almost everything you need for your home at a reasonable rate.It is really hard to capture Makola Market's spirit in writing - you just have to go there. This huge market is combined of main streets and back allies. I enjoyed walking in the place. very particular and learned so many things about the daily lives and food habits of people in Ghana. If you love culture, you'll like the place.
Good place to get the cheapest and quality of stuff to buy
One stop market for everything local. It's usually packed with a lot of people, heavy traffic jams, market stand all over the street and it goes all the way to stores and mobile stands. Then there's plenty of car parks around. It's just a lovely place and busy business central also one stop market for everything you need.
Market is a bit crowded . Not very easy to manoeuvre Parking space is limited. There are several goods available for sale however the vendors often change prices when they see the purchaser. Purchasers are advised to bargain for a good price .

Another beautiful place to be. I will recommend to all my friends especially for those who want something out of the ordinary it is such a unique facility with a Royal touch
Wonderful experience, I enjoyed the scenery, beautiful beach.
The water is so dirty..... I think real need a big renovation...
This location is Kaikai Restaurant and Oceanside Resort. Great food, location and environment. Upscale in comparison to most Kokrobite venues. Worth the visit in a very garden like and tranquil ocean side experience.
Nice place to feel nature . I loved it
My day use of the beach cottage was exciting. I liked the fact there was a fenced area in front of the beach where you can sit to relax and even keep some items away from the other people using the beach. Very easy to locate with the map, not far from Accra and beach not crowded.
Just right in front of the beach this cottage allows you to have a private place to eat with family members without being out in the public. The view of the beach is really fascinating and the breeze from the sea leaves the place cool. It has rooms for other people to change when going to the beach side but is very tedious when getting there as you have to pass a really rough road with little parking space.
Little parking space so you can check alternative when driving down here. The environment is nice and neat. This place can be crowdy especially on weekends. The cottage is cute and staff are warm. Food is great and yummy 😋. Overall a nice place to visit

So much world history. Nice to see things outside of my usual American vantage point.
An important place to visit for history buffs. Honours the memory of an incredible man. If you're not from around, it's definitely one of those places you need to visit. A guided tour costs just 20 Ghanaian cedis. The tour includes a visit of both Dr Dubois' house and his final resting place. At the time of my visit, plans were underway to redo the place and include upgrades to the facilities. The place has definitely seen better days. The ladies here, who I found running things, are very nice and courteous.
The house was okay. But, our tour guide was horrible. She insulted Norwegian tourists by saying Norwegian was not a major language and it does not count. Dubois spoke six "major" languages and we can all do better. Maybe that is true but we do what we like with our time. Then came a lecture about West African food being the best in the world, etc. She chided my wife who had a headache and held up her head and crossed her legs and kept saying it again and again until she uncrossed her legs and let go of her head. No compassion for her headache! She tried to push religion saying a bunch of things about god, etc. Obviously talking to her about freedom from religion would have been a waste of time. So, I kept quiet. Then, she started pushing the leadership of leaders, who have been tyrants and kleptocrats. Colonial heads etc. W.E.B. Dubois would have held his head in shame if he witnessed this glorification of tyrants. I have never walked out on a tour in my life and really wanted this one to end. Obviously, the center should look into training and hiring guides who are a bit more professional.
I feel lucky to be able to visit the home gifted to Du Bois by Kwame Nkrumah. Currently being expanded to include a larger space. His home was modest but reflects his intellect.
Its a very old house! Its where he lived and died. Im excited to see the new museum once its built.
The W. E. B. Dubois tribute honors this USA author, politician, and civil rights activist Dr Du Bous came to Ghana to advance human rights by working here in Africa, especially Ghana. At age 92 , he chose to come to Ghana to write the iAfrican history of each country. He wrote 3 volumes covering a few African countries before his died at age 93. This museum is in his home and a striking feature is the green tiled bathtub, quite a luxury in his time. The museum also shows his extensive written works. His initials WEB, came to be the symbol of the spider web with its central point and all people and projects extending out in an orderly pattern and fashion. Several Facilities and organizations continue use of the spider web motif in textiles, logos, and decor. The mausoleum is a relatively new structure that displays the remains of Dr DuBois and his wife.
Wonderful tour detailing the life of DuBois. Expansive library on display and another functional one available to the public. The market in the back has all kinds of goodies and reasonably priced.
Such an honor that has been bestowed on W.E.B DuBois, and incredible center with wonderfully knowledgeable guides. Im lookg frward to the future expansion and modernisation of the space with preservationnof the incredible collection of books. Its like the spirit of pan africanism rests in this place,...for all to come and unite. All people of Africa descent need to make this visit part of their assignment!

A must-visit in Accra! 🇬🇭 Independence Square stands as a powerful symbol of Ghana’s strength, resilience, and fight for freedom. Walking through its history and climbing to the top offered breathtaking views of the city a truly unforgettable experience. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just looking for a stunning view, this landmark is worth the visit!
The area is quite open and neat, so it can accommodate many people at once. Nicely built structures that remind me of similar memorial structures in Washington. It's accessible even at night. The structures are well lit, so it is more aestatically pleasing at night, in my opinion. You can still take nice photos. But if you want to appear in them, you will need a good camera or special light of your own. Downside for me going at night was the mosquitoes! I was almost eaten alive! For some reason, I wore pants instead of shorts, and that was a life saver! Have a plan to avoid mosquito 🦟 bites as much as you can!
Visiting the Independence Square in Accra was such a beautiful moment for me. Standing under the grand Black Star Gate with the bold inscription “Freedom and Justice” felt like stepping right into history. The square is spacious and peaceful, despite the busy traffic. It tells the story of Ghana’s freedom in 1957 and stands as a reminder for generations to cherish independence. Walking around the square, I felt deeply connected to the spirit of Africa’s struggle and triumph. It had palm trees swaying gently in the background, making it perfect for both reflection and photos. If you ever visit Accra, make sure you don’t miss this iconic landmark. It’s more than sightseeing, it’s an experience that leaves you inspired as well as hopeful! 🌟
Visited Black Star Square at night during my trip from India, a beautiful and peaceful experience. The lighting, open space, and iconic monuments look stunning after dark. A great place to feel the spirit of Ghana and enjoy a calm evening walk. Definitely worth visiting!
Really loved here. Will surely be back. But I wish tour guides can be assigned here to help people get around. Also, the place could be neater given its historical significance. There are some Nigerians here begging people for money. It is really annoying. Something should be done about that as well.

Not only does it boast a diverse array of great shops, but its proximity to the airport makes it the perfect place to kill time before a flight. I've never seen such a wide variety of stores under one roof, from high-end luxury brands to affordable retailers. The layout is impressive, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience. With its convenient location, superb shopping options, and helpful personnel, this mall is a must-visit for both locals and travelers alike.
Get everything you need from Marina before stepping into your flight. If what you need is missing in your luggage, don't hesitate to visit and buy it from the Marina Mall - a perfect place for shopping. A pack of oysters from Marina makes the waiting hours at the KIA enjoyable for me prior to heading to the sky.
A small mall, for sure. Only 3 options in the food court. Cafe Barbara was good, but I didn't try the other 2. With a few exceptions like Samsung and CompuGhana, a lot of the stores seemed like off-brand copies of the shops in Accra Mall. This isn't really bad and the stores seemed fine, clean and well-stocked. The ATM bank outside in the glare of the sun is not a good choice. Practical stores, like the pharmacy and Marina Supermarket were fine. Overall, not bad, but it's just not a terribly interesting mall, and the layout doesn't invite browsing.
Great and varieties of store outlet. Enough parking space. Safe environment. ATMs available, you will find African outfit stores, restaurants, children play ground ,jewellery corner, herbal foods& supplements, However , the washrooms do not smell good.
I went for shopping today at Numero Uno. After paying with my debit card, they told me they can't generate a receipt for me. These things should be agreed with the customer first. Assuming I wasn't close, how was I going to prove that I legally bought the things in my possessions? I have to go home and take transport to come back again because the cashier does not know how to write my invoice for me.
Marina Mall, situated just a kilometer from Accra Airport in the upscale Airport Residential Area, is a convenient shopping destination for both locals and travelers. Its proximity to the airport makes it an easily accessible location for those in transit. Spread across three floors, Marina Mall offers an extensive array of stores, ranging from international brands to local retailers. The shopping experience is complemented by a multitude of eating places, ensuring that food enthusiasts have plenty to choose from. The architecture is modern and pleasing, but on the day I visited, the escalator was not working, which caused some inconvenience, especially for those who had to move between floors. This could be particularly challenging for elderly visitors or those with mobility issues. Despite this minor hiccup, Marina Mall in Accra offers an engaging shopping experience with something for everyone. Its location, variety of shops, and dining options make it a must-visit for those looking to indulge in retail therapy or grab a bite in a pleasant environment.
Lovely location.Easily accessible from the airport and airport residential area. Within the vicinity of the mall, you have Ibis styles hotel, banks and city office of most international airlines. Burger is also close by. In the mall you have a bureau de change, supermarket, cafes, eatery, clothing stores and many more
Nice shopping mall to grab those last minute items before boarding a flight. variety of shops to restaurants, nice place to have fun and spend time with family.

Osu Castle was a place I've always wanted to go to years ago. The tour guide was very informative, and he helped to understand Ghana history. I would say it a must see.
A meaningful and emotional visit, walking through the dungeons is sobering. The gardens and coastal views offer a calm contrast. It’s a must‑see for history lovers.
A tour of this historical place is where you can get all the information about the comming of the first Europeans to Ghana in the 1400s, and their subsequent deeds, including slavery and colonialism. The tour guides/historians are well informed, and knowledgeable. You can freely ask questions and get answers. This place also served as the seat of Government, even after independence, hence so much history. I recommend 10 out of 10.
Fantastic place anyone visiting Ghana must go to. I learned so much! The guide was great.
Sad story, worth the visit, at least we did return beyond the door of no return. God bless Africa...we have been through a lot!
This place still lingers in my heart and mind. The point of no return is the cruelest thing I've witnessed as part of the tour.
This should be a must see for any visitor to Accra. It is secure and safe as it is inside a government/military area. When you arrive you can pay for a tour which I highly recommend. The tour guide was phenomenal and taught us about the history of the castle in the history of Ghana including the slave trade, the British colonial period, and recent presidents. He was so knowledgeable the castle is very interesting. You can see the dungeons where they kept slaves, queen elizabeths’s bedroom, and even an underground tunnel used to transport slaves. There is also a beautiful garden area you can walk around after the tour. As a solo female traveler I felt very safe and there were many families with children as well. I only recommend keeping a hold on small children as they do have not high railings on every turn like in many western countries… I watched a toddler barrel towards a railing which was only a few feet high which she could have toppled over. (She was fine). I think this is a must see for any tourist and would highly recommend, excellent experience.
The castle was a great experience with some really good historical information. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, took time to answer questions and engage with the group. He even took extra time to walk us around the gardens and explain which flora was brought in from where and how the grounds used to be villages.

A very big place of worship like Quodesh, didn't tour the place much but i tell you the arrangement of the structures is amazing literally like a museum, i love the fact that its build with brick. An architectural work of art. They have a school too.
A place of worship We had a community health awareness program
Looks bigger from the outside. Sits like an old relic. Beautiful church.
Unfortunately, wouldn't recommend you go there. This is coming from a Christian and someone actively working within the Anglican church. Was spoken to very rudely after entering by someone I can only believe is security and told to 'get out!'. Very disappointing as I visit churches all over the world and have never ever encountered anything like this. I hope this lack of hospitality is not the norm
Very nice building of old, built with old church architecture. In a very calm atmosphere but in the middle of a very congested and business filled location of the high street after the Vodafone office in the Accra business Centre. It’s an amazing place to visit.
Its a big place of worship. Very very well kept and maintained. It was built with old but strong bricks.
Its an amazing place to worship. There is a secondary school at the premises as well. However, there isn't enough parking space

The National Theatre supports the National Dance, National symphony, and theatre arts. Our guide gave us a walking tour of the auditorium. The lobby displays the huge royal drums used for royal performances, royal events.
A beautiful place to embrace Ghanaian culture!
A beautiful landmark with rich cultural performances and a vibrant atmosphere. The National Theatre is a must-visit for anyone who loves arts, music, and drama in Ghana
Only saw the outside but for those interested in modern architecture, this is a surprise gem.
BIG SPACE FOR YOUR EVENTS LOCATED AT ACCRA GHANA
Visiting the Ghana National Theatre feels like entering the heart of Accra’s creativity. The unique ship-shaped building stands out, and inside you find a bright, welcoming space filled with energy. The main auditorium is grand, with great sound and vibrant performances—from music and drama to dance and cultural shows. It’s a lively place where Ghanaian art truly comes alive.
An amazing and well planned architectural work for an edifice. The Auditorium is quite powerful and of good technology. It's a first class place for big events and occasions. In there is like another world entirely really. I liked the sightseeing and visit. I also got a good tour guide to show me around on my visit there. The car park and compound is very wide and big for parking. The restrooms are up and running although in all maintenance is lacking. Public transport tho and fro is quite feasible but I got a taxi though which was also readily available. You pay a token to get a tour of the place, nothing exorbitant. I liked the various work of art I saw in the theatre.
A lovely location in Ghana where the country’s rich culture comes to light. Various shows, concerts, exhibitions, and conferences take place here. Great venue to witness local talent on display. Art exhibitions are also held year. The building is uniquely designed. If you are visiting Ghana I would strongly recommend checking events taking place here and perhaps witness how locals chill out and take in laughter. Tickets tend to reasonably priced. Arts and crafts are also for sale here.
