Labadi Beach, also known as La Pleasure Beach, is a renowned coastal destination in Accra, Ghana. It is maintained by local hotels and offers a picturesque stretch of sandy shores and clear waters. The beach is a popular spot for sunbathing and relaxation, with vibrant bars and restaurants providing an uptempo atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy various water sports activities while taking in the ocean views.

Very busy and vibrant environment. I quite enjoyed the music and the food but did not like the hustling and people constantly trying to sell me things. Visited on a Sunday. Lots of bbq food items and drinks to choose from.
Arlene J — Google review
I went out with my friends. We are from the same class master degree from the university of Ouaga and we enjoy the place. It was a little bit high on price to get in, but we we had fun.
Ezechiel G — Google review
Beautiful area and fresh breeze but I was disappointed that who ever is running the place doesn't take much care of it in terms of cleaning and ensuring that it is well maintained, more so because there is an entry fee collected at the gate. Some parts did not feel safe because every vendor was trying to sell you something
Ncamiso N — Google review
This place is perfect place for locals but for me as an foreigner not the greatest and it's again I'm leaving angry. Nice atmosphere and can be very busy in weekends however if you are used to European beaches this one is not the place you come for relax. Avoid beach bars or at least make sure you keep eye on the prices and what you are eating. We drank about 5 origins, jollof rice and plate with yam, plantain, chicken. We paid total about 1430 Ghs(87£), which is madnes for shabby bar without even proper washroom. This is rip off and I'm not stepping to those beach bars again. This is very bad towards the people comming here. The beach itself is relatively clean only at the front but if we walked a little bit dead animals in sand and plastics doesn't represent this place good. I liked the music and that's it. Ghana has better beaches.
Tereza H — Google review
Horrible experience. They charged us $30cedis entry fee, $2 cedis to use the restrooms. Beach was dirty with bottles and plastic. Don’t waste your $$
Andrew K — Google review
I visited at night, so I didn’t get the chance to explore the beach, but I had such a wonderful time by the poolside lounge. The atmosphere was perfect with tasty food, refreshing cocktails, and cool music playing in the background. Such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I will definitely love to visit again!
Nikky L — Google review
We had a pleasant visit to Labadia Beach, though it was very crowded while we were there (Sunday afternoon). There are plenty of restaurants to choose from that offer tables and umbrellas to sit under while you eat / drink, as well as beach activities you can pay for (horseback riding, ATV rides). There are some pretty picturesque places on the beach, but you have to get away from the crowds and trash to find them. This is the dirtiest beach I've ever been to (trash is everywhere, including in the waves). There were people swimming in the water, but I didn't feel comfortable getting in the water, as you'll be swimming with a lot of debris. In the midst of all the crowds are a lot of merchants selling various trinkets. I found these merchants much less aggressive than the ones on Oxford Street, as when you say "no thank you," they nod and walk away instead of asking repeatedly. For those who want a quieter experience, you can walk all the way down to the other end of the beach where you'll find some flat rocks to sit on. I'll call this place "Lovers Cove" as it only had a handful of couples sitting quietly enjoying the waves hitting the rocks. Very peaceful. Overall, I recommend visiting, even if just for the experience, but expect a crowd on the weekend, lots of merchants, and quite a bit of trash. If you look past all of that, you can have a pleasant time.

History Museums
The National Museum of Ghana, established in 1957, is a significant cultural institution showcasing contemporary paintings by local artists and an array of cultural artifacts. Divided into three main sections - ethnography, archaeology, and art - the museum offers diverse exhibitions featuring archaeological findings from ancient times, traditional Ghanaian paintings, and various exhibits illustrating the country's cultural history including language, chief system, food, clothing and handicrafts.
Amazing history and great stuff. You learn about the Stone Age. How Ghanaians lived way before Southern Civilization.
Gladys B — Google review
A wonderful place to find firsthand information about Ghana, it's origin, the people, and culture. Beautiful and handsome tour guides. For a national meseum, I expected a lot more from them, however, than they currently give. 7 out of 10 recommend!
Michael_kedey — Google review
The National Museum in Accra is relatively small and compact, making it easy to explore in a short amount of time. 80 Cedis Entrance fee for foreigners. While the exhibits themselves could be presented in a more engaging and visually impactful way, the real highlight of our visit was our guide, Mary (Adwoa). She brought the history and everyday life of the Ghanaian people vividly to life, sharing fascinating insights into their traditions and customs. Thanks to her storytelling skills and enthusiasm, the history of Ghana felt engaging and alive, turning what could have been a simple museum visit into a truly memorable experience.
Deborah A — Google review
Brilliant facility with varied history of Ghana, especially Ga and Asante customs/culture. Lots of great photo opportunities and knowledgable guides. The museum is not air conditioned but there are many fans for those sensitive to heat. Stand in the middle below the spider to hear a cool echo!

80 cedi/ 5 usd for foreign visitors. Love the wood craving and brass crafts. Not a big place. It’s nice to have a sip of coke at the restaurant right next to the museum in the hot afternoon.

I visited the National Museum of Ghana last Tuesday, and it was truly an enriching experience. The museum beautifully combines pictorial art, historical artifacts, and well-documented written history. Our tour guide gave us an in-depth overview with vivid explanations that were both engaging and highly educational. The entire place is neat, well-organized, and filled with fascinating historical information. I also appreciated the opportunity to ask questions and get detailed answers that deepened my understanding. One thing that stood out to me was the unique echo of our voices inside the museum—it added to the overall memorable experience. The museum also features a shop where you can purchase authentic African items such as bags, fans, slippers, apparel, and more. In addition, there’s a restaurant that serves meals, making it convenient for visitors to relax and refresh. This place is suitable for all ages, especially students who want to learn more about Ghana’s history. I highly recommend it to both locals and tourists—it’s definitely a must-visit.

Great place and great history of the Ghanaians,.a good place to visit while in Accra.

The national museum of Ghana is such a historic place to visit. The place offers both pictorial art and views as well as written history. The tour guide gave us an extensive overview and vivid explanations which was very educative. The place is neatly and well organized with great and historical information. I had the opportunity to ask questions and also I got the information I needed. The place is a must visit as I was intrigued by the echoes of our voices when we talked. There’s a shop that sells African stuffs, ranging from bags, fan, slipper, apparels etc. They also have a restaurant that offers meals as well. Suitable for all ages, especially school goers to know more history of the country. I highly recommend this place for visitors.

Beach
Bojo Beach, located in Greater Accra, is a serene and picturesque destination known for its clean sands and beautiful scenery. The beach offers a tranquil atmosphere in the morning and comes alive with music and performances later in the day. Accessible by boat across a small stream, this romantic beach is perfect for couples or groups looking to enjoy the stunning views and various activities such as football or horseback riding.
I had a great time here! The beach is clean, serene, and peaceful, especially in the evening when I visited.
Umasoye I — Google review
To get to the actual beach, you take a very short boat ride – less than a minute – which adds a fun little touch to the experience. You have to pay 50 Ghana cedis to enter. The beach itself is beautiful, with clean, soft sand and plenty of shaded seating areas, making it a nice place to relax. There’s a grill/bar on site, but the prices are way too high for what you get. A small juice costs 100 Ghana cedis, and a barbecue skewer costs 25 cedis – definitely overpriced. The changing room, however, was very disappointing. There’s nowhere to put or hang your clothes, and it smelled strongly of urine. That really brought the experience down. Overall, it’s a lovely beach with nice shaded seating, but the high prices and poor facilities make it less enjoyable.
Nico B — Google review
As an update of my previous review , I may say things have changed since my last visit years ago. It’s been very difficult to get a contact to make enquirers but once there , I have been able to get a number from a demoiselle at the entrance. The entrance fees is now at 50 cedis for the boat ride in and out and once on the shore , you may enjoy variety of drinks and foods. From soft drinks to beers and kebabs, mind you , the prices maybe higher than outside and they are charging service fees for any items got, lol. Overall, still the same beach with some new touches and higher rates.
David M — Google review
Serene beach, however, it is quite a distance from town. Going there without your own vehicle is sometimes challenging as the taxis around charges abnormally. Also, it is irritating how the locals who work at the beach keep begging for money there. Aside from these, the beach is a nice place to be.
Ransford A — Google review
Went on a cloudy day. It really wasn't a beach day.on the other hand, it is a nice clean sand beach , you have to cross by boat over a small lake , no food and drinks allowed from outside. The music was nice. Will come back again for a better evaluation.
H K — Google review
A beautiful beach, less touristy than Labadi which is nice. Generally clean with a waiter service and horse riding. The little boat to get over to the beach is cute but if you don't like boats you might not appreciate the 3 min ride. There is a cover charge to access this beach. Was 30gh on the day we went.
Sim M — Google review
This was my first visit to any beach at all. I arrived pretty early. Before 9am. The place was pretty empty until around 11am when people started coming. It wasn't a holiday so I expected that. The entry fee was 20ghc. Found the food pretty expensive. Aside from that everything was great and I really had fun. Had the opportunity to help the local folks pull the net from the sea and scout for fish. Crabs all around in the ground and waves to help cool your feet. Was a totally great experience. Looking to visit soon

Loved Bojo Beach! Lovely staff, great food, and an awesome white sand beach! Ask the restaurant staff for help and they’ll fix you up with river boat tours, cabana, food, drinks etc. VEGAN food is available, just ask the staff :-). A MUST VISIT!

Indoor playground
Bliss Family Entertainment, situated at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra, offers a delightful experience for families and friends. The facility features a well-maintained 10-lane bowling alley suitable for both beginners and seasoned bowlers, along with a play area for children. Additionally, visitors can enjoy meals and drinks at the on-site restaurant and bar while immersing themselves in the relaxing yet invigorating ambiance created by fun themed displays.
Had quite a bit of fun here. Good bowling experience, although the ball sometimes jumps out of the gutter and back into the bowling lane so they need to fix that. They have an arcade section and a section with machines for climbing and physical activity. It’s the kind of place active children and adults will enjoy. They also have a restaurant too so you can have a bit of fun and have a meal after. As at time of this review, a game of bowling cost 125 GHs (if you don’t have socks, it’s an extra 20) and to use the activity area costs 175 GHs.
Mosopefoluwa O — Google review
I took my kids to Bliss for an afternoon of fun, and let's just say my experience was mixed! We were excited about the trampoline park, but after paying a steep price for my four kids, I was shocked to discover I had to pay an even higher amount as a parent to enter with them. In this day and age, who leaves their young kids at any public place for someone else to watch? Bliss really needs a better system for parents accompanying their young children. Once we finally got in, the kids had a great time on the trampolines and slides, which seemed thrilling for all ages. However, after spending a lot on the trampoline park, I was stunned when I was told I'd have to pay another hefty fee per person to bowl. We decided to skip the bowling. On our way out, we wanted some popcorn but had to wait for 10 minutes with no staff coming to assist us, so we left. That said, the staff we encountered in the trampoline park were nice. However, I wouldn't recommend leaving your young kids unattended there due to safety concerns. In summary, if you don't have extra money to spend, I wouldn't recommend going to Bliss.

Listen! Gather your friends and loved ones and go have some real good time. Bowling, arcade games, trampoline… Excellent customer service as well. Claudia deserves a raise.

Great place for your family in door events. When in Accra and wants fun indoor activities with your friends and family, this is the best place to be. They have an amazing restaurant with lot of parking space. The staff who work here are very helpful. Their rest rooms are super clean as well. From bouncing to climbing, there is an activity for everyone.

Great place to hangout as a group in Accra! The bowling and other games is exciting. Lively atmosphere with good food and drink options. Prices are ok, but worth it for the experien
Selinam — Google review
Bliss Family Entertainment is a great place for families to have fun. The 6-lane bowling alley is a lot of fun, and the trampoline activities are great for kids of all ages. The food and drinks are also good, and the staff are very helpful. I went with my family and we had a great time. I would definitely recommend this place to others. The place is located in the Aviation Social Centre in Accra, and is open from 12pm-12am from Tuesday to Friday, and 10am-12am on weekends and public holidays. The cost of admission is GHS 150 per hour for any of the activities, and there are discounts for large groups. The cost for bowling is 125 per adult per game. My wife and I bowled a few games, and we joined the kids on the trampolines. We also had drinks and ice-cream as well as popcorn. There was food available at the restaurant but we didn't eat there as we were going elsewhere for food. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they made sure we had a great time. Try the scary looking slide, It is fun. Overall, I would highly recommend Bliss Family Entertainment to anyone looking for a fun and exciting place to spend time with their family.

Osu Castle, a historic fortress dating back to the early 17th century, is steeped in rich and complex history. Over the years, it has been a focal point of power struggles as various rulers vied for ownership. Notably, Osu Castle served as a significant holding site for enslaved individuals before they were transported overseas.

An impressive place that gives a good insight into the mischief perpetrated by various European countries, as well as into Ghana's more recent history. The castle is not as crowded as Cape Coast. We had an excellent guide, Hassan. It's a shame that the maintenance work isn't progressing... (therefor the 4 instead of 5)

Cost was 80 cedis for non citizens and 8 cedis for Ghanaians. I was so happy to be able to visit Osu Castle. It does hold a lot of history. Parking was easy/free. It does have security as it’s a govt building. Everyone was nice and my tour guide was amazing. I went when it first opened so it wasn’t crowded at all.

The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park & Mausoleum in Accra, Ghana, is a significant landmark honoring the country's first president. The mausoleum and museum pay tribute to Kwame Nkrumah, who led Ghana to independence from British colonial rule in 1957. The impressive marble mausoleum features a black star symbolizing African unity and is surrounded by water and statues of African freedom fighters.
A historic place to learn about Ghana's First President and founder, Pan-Africanist, also voted BBC African of the Millennium, The Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. His birth and early life, school days, achievements, presidential days, all the way down to his overthrow and death. The tour guides are really helpful, and provide lots of information about the place. Tours can be organized in both French and English. The place is beautiful with much history. Some notable places are his burial ground, alongside his wife's, the place where the independence of Ghana was declared, the presidential library, a mango Tree Nelson Mandela planted when He visited Nkrumah, the iconic forward-ever statue of Nkrumah, and a lot more. Should be on your bucket list when in Ghana. I recommend 10 out of 10.
Michael_kedey — Google review
Great work done here to transform the look of this place. I love the environment and they’re really doing a good job here. Proud of the fact that they’re doing all they can to preserve our history. The your guides are very much informed and the way they articulate facts is impressive. I love how neat the place is. I hope they keep it up. The Government should add more pleasant features to heighten the hype around this place. Will surely be back again.
Papaga B — Google review
Had a good tour guide! Choose to listen before pictures, you can always do that after the tour, immerse yourself in the history. I finished the tour more knowledgeable, and that's the point for this place. The NAB Voyage, AKA, the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum hosts deep history and remains of the late revered pan-african leader. Key moments were preserved in the museum, and his thoughts were inscribed on the walls of the gallery.
Omolola A — Google review
The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park beautifully honors Ghana’s founding father, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The architecture is striking, the grounds are well maintained, and the museum inside gives a powerful insight into Ghana’s journey to independence. The statues, fountains, and peaceful atmosphere make it both educational and reflective. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this place connects you to the soul of Ghana’s history. Highly recommend!
Sonia M — Google review
A beautiful display and museum honoring Ghana first president Kwame Nkrumah. When you arrive you pay an entrance fee about 100 cedis for adults and 30 for children. There are art pieces, videos, excerpts from his speeches and much more. The mausoleum where he and his wife lay is a beautiful architectural structure that stands in the middle of the park. It was a great tribute to their first leader of independence.
Colette G — Google review
Former polo field, this site stands as a symbol of change and independence for the Ghanaian population. It is composed of the mausoleum and two museum floors. The grounds are also pleasant to walk around.

Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park – A Powerful Tribute Located in Accra, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park is a beautifully renovated tribute to Ghana’s first president and a key figure in Africa’s independence movement. The striking mausoleum, flanked by serene fountains and manicured gardens, houses the remains of Nkrumah and his wife. A well-curated museum and new Freedom Hall offer rare artifacts and powerful insights into his Pan-African vision. Recent upgrades include a presidential library, amphitheater, digital access system, and visitor amenities, making it both modern and respectful of history. Guided tours are informative, and the park’s peaceful atmosphere invites reflection. A must-visit for anyone interested in Ghana’s rich political legacy.

The W.E.B Du Bois Memorial Centre for Panafrican Culture in Ghana is a historical site and tourist attraction located on the former estate of W.E.B. Du Bois, an American civil rights activist and writer. The center pays homage to Du Bois' dedication to fighting for the rights of black people and his contributions to Pan-Africanism. It features a library with historical literature on black rights, a small museum displaying personal effects, and serves as a guest house.
So much world history. Nice to see things outside of my usual American vantage point.

An important place to visit for history buffs. Honours the memory of an incredible man. If you're not from around, it's definitely one of those places you need to visit. A guided tour costs just 20 Ghanaian cedis. The tour includes a visit of both Dr Dubois' house and his final resting place. At the time of my visit, plans were underway to redo the place and include upgrades to the facilities. The place has definitely seen better days. The ladies here, who I found running things, are very nice and courteous.
Emmanuel C — Google review
The house was okay. But, our tour guide was horrible. She insulted Norwegian tourists by saying Norwegian was not a major language and it does not count. Dubois spoke six "major" languages and we can all do better. Maybe that is true but we do what we like with our time. Then came a lecture about West African food being the best in the world, etc. She chided my wife who had a headache and held up her head and crossed her legs and kept saying it again and again until she uncrossed her legs and let go of her head. No compassion for her headache! She tried to push religion saying a bunch of things about god, etc. Obviously talking to her about freedom from religion would have been a waste of time. So, I kept quiet. Then, she started pushing the leadership of leaders, who have been tyrants and kleptocrats. Colonial heads etc. W.E.B. Dubois would have held his head in shame if he witnessed this glorification of tyrants. I have never walked out on a tour in my life and really wanted this one to end. Obviously, the center should look into training and hiring guides who are a bit more professional.
Prasenjit M — Google review
I feel lucky to be able to visit the home gifted to Du Bois by Kwame Nkrumah. Currently being expanded to include a larger space. His home was modest but reflects his intellect.

The W. E. B. Dubois tribute honors this USA author, politician, and civil rights activist Dr Du Bous came to Ghana to advance human rights by working here in Africa, especially Ghana. At age 92 , he chose to come to Ghana to write the iAfrican history of each country. He wrote 3 volumes covering a few African countries before his died at age 93. This museum is in his home and a striking feature is the green tiled bathtub, quite a luxury in his time. The museum also shows his extensive written works. His initials WEB, came to be the symbol of the spider web with its central point and all people and projects extending out in an orderly pattern and fashion. Several Facilities and organizations continue use of the spider web motif in textiles, logos, and decor. Ghanaians most prestigious national theatre... A strategic place located in the heart of Accra...the capital city of Ghana..it was established by Ghanas first president. DR KWAME NKRUMAH. Its unique nature and design n capacity to hold people in thousands makes it a preffered choice for special events, national competitions, musical concerts among other events or programs of high importance and value...

An amazing and well planned architectural work for an edifice. The Auditorium is quite powerful and of good technology. It's a first class place for big events and occasions. In there is like another world entirely really. I liked the sightseeing and visit. I also got a good tour guide to show me around on my visit there. The car park and compound is very wide and big for parking. The restrooms are up and running although in all maintenance is lacking. Public transport tho and fro is quite feasible but I got a taxi though which was also readily available. You pay a token to get a tour of the place, nothing exorbitant. I liked the various work of art I saw in the theatre.

Splash & Play is a water park located in Airport Residential, offering a fantastic aquatic adventure for kids. Open on weekdays from 10 am to 4 pm and weekends from 10 am to 6 pm, it provides a perfect option for cooling off on hot days. Children can revel in splashing, swimming, and watery fun at the water park, spray area, and children's playground for up to three hours.
The pool is very beautiful. An amazing and unique place to take your kids. They also have a life guard making it safe for your kids. The pool side also looks very beautiful at night.

Splash & Play us a great place to visit with kids. It's a water park where kids can have a swell time swimming, climbing, splashing, and playing. We visited with the assumption that the indoor play area was located within the same location only to be told that that's in Tema. I wish they'd introduce other fun activities as it can become monotonous to be restricted to the water slides only. The kids, however, had so much fun. They wanted to visit again the next day.

The only waterpark in Ghana, located at Airport residential area… the best place for kids to have fun…. With a big playground also for the really young ones who can’t swim, a great place to host birthday parties. I know they close at 6 but not really sure about when it’s opened.. it’s always open on holidays and weekends.. follow them on @splash_n_play on IG.

Enjoyable afternoon for my children 3 and 6. The price for 3 hours of fun is very reasonable and my kids definitely didn’t want to leave. The water area was a bit smaller than expected, however wasn’t busy the day we went so ok. Pool and playground clean and staff friendly, would definitely recommend.

The Jamestown Lighthouse, situated in the historic Jamestown neighborhood of Accra, Ghana, is a striking 92-foot structure that was constructed in the 1930s to replace an earlier lighthouse dating back to 1871. Comprising a stone tower with a lantern and gallery connected to a keeper's house, this iconic landmark offers breathtaking views of the coastline and surrounding areas.
Jamestown Lighthouse was nice. In November of 2024 there were no tours. We visited on a weekday. The lighthouse and surrounding area is in need of a beautification project. It is sad to see this historical landmark in dire need of something.
Jared S — Google review
Even though the lighthouse was closed when I went, it was still nice being at such a historically and culturally rich site. Hopefully, it will be open next time I visit Ghana.

If you go with a local guide there, please be careful and confirm the price before you go!! The local guide in tourism information centre told me the tour is GH¢50 but once I finished my walking tour, he told me it's GH¢150 (US$10) because each site is GH¢50. I appreciate him for telling me history, but I also hope he could use part of the money to support the community as he said, not just only scam me. Overall, the place is worth a visit and tour guide also helped me gaining a lot of history knowledge about British Accra(Jamestown). You'll learn how British came here and did slaves trading around Jamestown fort in 1700s. However, if you want to walk alone it's free, but you won't be able to enter the Jamestown Fort. The below photos showed my whole tour that tour guide arranged.

Perched on the edge of Accra’s coastline, the Jamestown Lighthouse stands as a proud sentinel of Ghana’s colonial past and maritime legacy. My visit to this iconic landmark was nothing short of captivating. The structure itself, with its bold red-and-white stripes, is a striking sight against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. Climbing to the top offered panoramic views that were absolutely breathtaking—waves crashing below, the bustle of Jamestown’s fishing community, and the historic architecture that dots the area. It’s a place where time seems to pause, allowing you to soak in the rich stories etched into every corner. Beyond the lighthouse, the surrounding neighborhood pulses with life and culture. From street art to local guides sharing tales of the past, Jamestown is a living museum. The lighthouse isn’t just a structure—it’s a gateway to understanding Accra’s roots and the resilience of its people. If you’re seeking a blend of history, scenery, and authentic local flavor, Jamestown Lighthouse is a must-see.

Independence Arch, also known as the Black Star Gate, is a significant symbol of Ghana's fight for independence from British rule. Built in 1961 by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, it stands as a tribute to fallen soldiers and a beacon of freedom. The arch is located at Accra's Independence Square and serves as the focal point for national events such as presidential inaugurations, Independence Day celebrations, military parades, and more.
A must-visit in Accra! 🇬🇭 Independence Square stands as a powerful symbol of Ghana’s strength, resilience, and fight for freedom. Walking through its history and climbing to the top offered breathtaking views of the city a truly unforgettable experience. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just looking for a stunning view, this landmark is worth the visit!

The area is quite open and neat, so it can accommodate many people at once. Nicely built structures that remind me of similar memorial structures in Washington. It's accessible even at night. The structures are well lit, so it is more aestatically pleasing at night, in my opinion. You can still take nice photos. But if you want to appear in them, you will need a good camera or special light of your own. Downside for me going at night was the mosquitoes! I was almost eaten alive! For some reason, I wore pants instead of shorts, and that was a life saver! Have a plan to avoid mosquito 🦟 bites as much as you can!

Visiting the Independence Square in Accra was such a beautiful moment for me. Standing under the grand Black Star Gate with the bold inscription “Freedom and Justice” felt like stepping right into history. The square is spacious and peaceful, despite the busy traffic. It tells the story of Ghana’s freedom in 1957 and stands as a reminder for generations to cherish independence. Walking around the square, I felt deeply connected to the spirit of Africa’s struggle and triumph. It had palm trees swaying gently in the background, making it perfect for both reflection and photos. If you ever visit Accra, make sure you don’t miss this iconic landmark. It’s more than sightseeing, it’s an experience that leaves you inspired as well as hopeful! 🌟

The cinema has a variety of movie options, from the latest blockbusters to some local films, catering to a wide range of preferences. The theater itself is clean, and the seating is comfortable, providing a good view from almost any spot. The picture and sound quality are decent, enhancing the overall experience. They also offer 3D movie screenings, which are great for action-packed films. The concession stand has a good selection of snacks, including popcorn and drinks, which are reasonably priced.

Very good. Good movies, but I don't think they do reruns a lot. You can't bring your own food, but that's to be expected. All cinemas are like that. They clean well, and the place looks good. There is a large variety of packaged food like sweets, chocolate, candy etc. They have food they make there like popcorn or jam rolls. They are good, but there's not many options of food they make themselves. There's also only a few drinks, the usual coke and Fanta etc. It really doesn't matter as much as it seems though. Good food, good service, good movies, good hygiene

The cost for a movie is 100 Ghs but when they get greedy that charge 150 Ghs. It’s a ripoff. This is not done in other countries like the USA or Europe or anywhere else. Just Not Right to do that. Shame on Silverbird Cinemas
Kurt R — Google review
Very POOR customer service when a movie is heavily delayed. Save yourself from extreme frustration by calling first before you make the journey to the cinema. Pray (or hope, if you are an atheist) for a competitor to start in Accra soon because their monopoly is why they disregard customer service when they make serious errors. Otherwise, they will single-handedly RUIN the movie-watching experience by being so callous about messing up people’s schedules. There is a nice usher who is kind, and maybe the people who serve popcorn are decent so perhaps you should only go to Silverbird to say hello to these exceptions, buy popcorn, then GO HOME and wait for the movie to come out online. Save your 300 cedi if you’re two people and get some nice takeaway, buy a good movie online, and STAY HOME until a monopoly opens in the city. Once in a while, visit the place to tip the kind usher or pray for blessings upon him from afar (once again, if you’re an atheist, wish him well)… other than this, STAY AWAY.
Violet P — Google review
I totally disliked their service.. we had concern to which they said we should speak to the supervisor who took about an hour to attend to us because he was eating and he came around telling us he'd get back and he just vanished.. I wasted my efforts going there but it's a great lesson though

The W.E.B. DuBois Centre in Accra is a cultural and intellectual hub honoring the legacy of African-American civil rights activist W.E.B. Du Bois. Established in 1985, the complex comprises four main buildings, including Dr. DuBois' final residence, an administrative building, the Marcus Garvey Guest House, and the tomb of Dr. DuBois and his wife Shirley Graham DuBois.
I feel lucky to be able to visit the home gifted to Du Bois by Kwame Nkrumah. Currently being expanded to include a larger space. His home was modest but reflects his intellect.

The W. E. The mausoleum is a relatively new structure that displays the remains of Dr DuBois and his wife.

Charming scenery during the day and night... if you love a neat, well structured outdoor area you will be at home here. Zoo
Nature preserve
Accra Zoo offers a natural and earthy setting, although the roads leading to it may not be in the best condition. Despite this, visitors can enjoy a native feel with the sightseeing and find the venue exhilarating. The zoo features various animals in environments that resemble their natural habitats, providing an enjoyable experience for both kids and adults.
Did not disappoint! I visited the Accra Zoo on a sunny Monday morning and it was amazing. Our guide was knowledgeable, and shared details about the species, it's natural habitat and behaviors. He also hared charming stories about the animals' idiosyncracies and interactions with other animals. The setting is lovely. Basically you are taking a leisurely stroll on a path in the dappled sunlight of the Achimota forest. Every so often you come upon an enclosure and your host tells you the name and age and feeding habits of its inhabitant(s). The animals I saw looked well cared for and there was a surprising variety and number of animals. Do not be discouraged by the negative reviews as I almost was. This is worth a visit, as much for the setting and glimpses of the forest residents as the zoo animals. They have done sn admirable job with the resources available and if all the guides are as good as ours was, you are in for a treat.

Very quiet and relaxing Zoo in the middle of a large forest area. Friendly staff and visitors get a guide, who explains many facts and anecdotes on all animal species. More people should visit and learn about wildlife. Please bring your empty drinking bottles and aluminum cans to the service area, as they are collected and donated to a local recycling man.

We went there with our teacher from Burkina Faso, and as we are from the university of Ouagadougou from the department of language applied to tourism and business we were very, very happy watching all these animals in there. It was very interesting and it was a good experience for us I really liked the journey.

I visited Achimota Zoo with my family and had a mixed experience. The educational aspect is great, especially for children, and the natural setting within the Achimota Forest Reserve is quite serene. However, the variety of animals is limited, and some enclosures need better maintenance. It can also get quite crowded on weekends. Overall, it's a decent place for a short visit, but there's definitely room for improvement.

I never walked like this ahah (do not worry, there is possibility to go by car but experience is not the same). Animals seem free (a mixed between wild life and domestic one). I really enjoyed to touch some. Do bot hesistate to go there if you like nature !

Fort James, also known as Jamestown, is a historic British colonial trading post in Accra. Built in 1673, it served as a prison until 2008 and has since been transformed into a museum. Visitors can explore the oldest city in Accra and experience the welcoming local culture. The area offers views of boats and beaches, showcasing the livelihoods of the fishing community.
The prison is abandoned. Some locals control the area and will let you in for a few dollars. There is a small scam afoot where they show you a run down school building behind the lighthouse and ask for donations. Our guy even tried to tell us NYU professors volunteered to teach there. Keep your wits about you, but the prison is cool to see and contains some important history.
Giulianna M — Google review
It's about the oldest city in Accra and I looked forward to it. I visited there with my German friend and the people were welcoming. We had someone who offered to take us around. We saw the boats and beach and people! The area doesn't look pleasant (asides the lighthouse area) but it was great to see people live lives different from mine. The people there fish for a living. It's just a great experience. Just for the sake of visiting and history sake, I recommend you visit James Fort. I also call it Jamestown.

Close to the lighthouse, and some miles behind the jamestown café this fort is kind interesting Did not have the chance to enter But just having a look at it gives the impression of some historical facts to learn
David M — Google review
The fort is closed and st James prison is has been transferred to another place apparently. So nothing much to see apart from fishermen houses.

Run-down and controlled by touts demanding money. Accra has so many interesting sites a foreigner could visit, but most places we visited were in need some care and, more importantly, police to shoo-away the local touts demanding money. We did not feel welcome here because of what I think were phony demands to have our passports registered at the visitors center, if such a thing exists.
Paul N — Google review
It's a nice place to visit with family and friends especially on the chale wote festival in August were there are a lot of art exhibition around this place.

Not currently a museum. Appears the roof was burnt/ recently on fire. Aggressive Hawking (selling). No enterence found to explore fort. Local individuals mentioned that due to James fort being a prison, it was left decrepit. Do not recommend visiting.

The square hosts annual independence celebrations and other national events. It features monuments commemorating the struggle for independence and houses the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum where both Dr.
I don’t have an issue with Nigerians but loads of them are here sort of forcing you to give them money and that’s not good at all. Given how memorable here is, I think the Government should do something to increase the value of the place. It’ll really be great. Loved it though though. Will surely be back
Papaga B — Google review
Curious about history or just love iconic landmarks? Independence Square/Black Star Square, is a must-visit. This historic site, built to commemorate Ghana’s independence, is one of the largest city squares in the world. Its most striking feature is the Black Star Gate, a powerful symbol of freedom and African unity. Standing beneath it, you can’t help but feel the pride and resilience of a nation that paved the way for many others on the continent. The square is perfect for soaking in the atmosphere, taking pictures, or just enjoying the open space. It’s especially vibrant during national celebrations and events, where the square comes alive with parades, music, and cultural displays. Even on quieter days, its calm ambiance and rich history make it worth the visit. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Accra. Whether you’re exploring on your own or with friends, it’s a great way to experience a piece of Ghana’s heritage. 9/10.

The Independence Square (Black Star Square) is a square for most government ceremonies. It's open to the public at anytime, and one can freely visit, move about, and take pictures. Opposite the square, is the famous Independence Arch, not to be confused with the arch shape, at the square. This is also accessible to anyone at anytime, however if you want to climb to the top of the arch, you may need permission from some guides onsite. There are some photographers at the arch site, who can dress you up in royal local attire, and take photos, at a fee. There's also the "I love Ghana", in a park, signage behind the Independence Arch. There are no tour guides on both sites, and no tickets needed. I recommend 6 out of 10.

⭐ Black Star Square Review Black Star Square, also known as Independence Square, is one of Ghana’s most iconic landmarks and a powerful symbol of freedom. Located in the heart of Accra, it beautifully represents the country’s journey toward independence and unity. The vast open space, with its grand stands and the towering Black Star Gate, offers a sense of pride and history. It’s a great spot for photos, especially around sunset when the golden light reflects off the monument. The area is usually calm, but during national events and parades, it becomes a vibrant hub full of energy and celebration. A must-visit for anyone exploring Accra and wanting to connect with the spirit of Ghana. Tip: Visit early morning or late afternoon for the best lighting and fewer crowds.

In May I went there once with my 2 and 5 year old boys. They had a swing that was not bolted down in the toddler area. The swing with my two year old inside fell directly on my nose and I was bleeding profusely. There was no staff present in the room and I had to call my 5 year old to find someone. I fractured my nasal bone and went the next day to talk to the manager. I asked for them to cover my hospital bills; they had the whole event on video and they didn’t even know anything had happened until I told them about the incident. And of course the swing was still there unbolted and waiting for the next accident. After a week they got back and said they would cover half of the medical bills. What a joke. I would have sued but there was no firm willing to take such a small case. My nose is permanently scarred and misshapen and I can’t seem to get good enough care in Ghana to actually fix the problem. Please learn from my mistake and don’t trust your safety in this facility.

What a fun experience! Will never forget winning bowling against two of my friends (jen and Melanie if u see this) Bowling was great, and the workers around were very friendly and helpful. Everything is intact and the bowling room is comfortable. Food is even offered to you inside while you wait and the bowling was very cool. The price isn't too much, just enough for the 10 rounds per person. Laser tag was also great. The place is big and instructions are clearly explained to you before the game. I had a great time shooting my friends and was awfully tired after everything.. It's a great place to have a fun time with Friends and family, and it was worth driving to. It'd be great if there were new activities added, but I know it's new. Definitely an awesome experience. Its a 5 for me.

Buckle up and brace for sensory overload. This VR 5D cinema wasn't just a movie, it was an experience. I felt every turn, every splash, every gust of wind. My heart is still racing🤯🎢. Absolutely mind-blowing and a must-try. Also a lot of options to choose from. PS tell Donald I sent you so yall get a discount lol.
Kelvin M — Google review
Ferretti cinema has been a new discovery for me. Always passing by without minding them , I tried them out. Okay first of all , you will be paying a fee of 50 cedis for a 10min something movie, but you do have to note that , a minimum of people are required in order for you to be allowed to proceed. Luckily enough I got to join two other people that day. They do have a variety of movies if I may say but not scary for me. Lol (it's on me). Also, you may get a video from one of the agent at a small fee ( something for the road top, ah ah). However, the only down part for me and the movie we chose, fear something, was the bumpy ride we had and with those chairs, brace yourself to get a massage later because it had been a little bit painful for "me". Also bear in mind not to be holding anything because it may fall from hands/bags , protect your items because the ride can be very like on a rollercoaster. Overall , a nice "scary experience" at costless fee.
David M — Google review
This is a place I’d definitely want to try again. Had heard so much about this place and finally decided to give it a shot. Fee to pay is 50¢ per movie you choose to watch. It runs for about 10mins or slightly less. It seats up to 9 at a time. Went twice. Their customer service was good. The man at the reception helped us select our second movie since we felt the first wasn’t too scary. Lol. And it was worth the ride. On a day you have some few minutes to spare. Do pop by and give it a try.
Teanarh — Google review
I had so much fun, although I waited for sometime before going to see the movie. However, they only show short movies which last about 5-7 minutes. They have quite a number of options as well. I hope in the near future, they’ll start showing longer movies.

It was an exciting experience. The receptionist helped us pick a movie since it was our first time, and we wanted something scary. We paid 50 cedis each, and the experience lasted about 5 minutes. Maybe more. I highly recommend you try it. It was so much fun.

I had a very terrible experience last night, when a male worker in the cinima room attacked me because i need to pay ghc 10 before he can use my phone to take me a video..I was very shock, he was soo rude. I’m never visiting the Ferretti 5D again. Definitely not a safe place
Alimah I — Google review
So I heard of this place through a friend and decided to go experience it for myself.. It was a pretty good "5D" experience.. There is a wind machine and a water machine to give you the "real experience" feel, you know, the raining and windy type of feel depending on the movie you decide to watch.. It lasted for less than 10minutes though so that's something to be aware of.

The instructor (Happy) and staff were phenomenal! My five stars 🌟 are for the best times i had with other staff, supervisors and staff before meeting Benjamin today, if I should rate Benjamin my great Millonaire casino 0 star today is because of Benjamin unfriendly customer uproar today, he's not good at all. Being given a managerial post in an entity doesn't mean you should be deceptive with your customers and rude to others.
