It is deeply troubling and disheartening to hear about cases of animal neglect and abandonment, particularly in places like zoos where animals are supposed to be cared for and protected. Such incidents are not only cruel and inhumane but also a violation of the animals' basic rights and needs. Neglect and abandonment can result in severe physical and psychological harm to animals, such as malnutrition, disease, injury, and trauma. It is unacceptable for any institution or organization that is responsible for animals to fail in providing proper care and attention. It is important to hold those responsible accountable for their actions and take necessary actions to ensure that such incidents do not occur again in the future. Furthermore, it is essential to create and implement robust laws and regulations to protect animals from neglect and abandonment. This should include regular inspections and evaluations of zoos, wildlife parks, and other animal sanctuaries to ensure that they comply with established standards of animal welfare. There should also be penalties and consequences for institutions and individuals who fail to provide adequate care and attention to animals under their care.
Unfortunately this place is closed for negligence of people working here ,I'm glad this place is closed I hope people be more concerned about animals rights
Animal mistreatment. Horrible people that work here. Shame on you.

Beautiful Plaza. There's a lot of history everywhere you look at. The cathedral is gorgeous. Great place to spend with friends and family.
This turned out to be a nice target for nightly walks with the family. A few ice cream parlors nearby, along with a cafe kiosk offering bites to eat as well. Keep your eye out for the souvenir store on the corner, it's a great place with reasonable cost.
Nice and clean plaza. Shops all around. I went during the week so parking was not an issue. They had a little cafe in the plaza. I did not try it as I already had lunch but it has frozen and iced drinks! A must see when in Mayaguez!!
La plaza en Rincón is beautiful. Very clean and well maintained. Many beautiful plants. It is surrounded by many shops and eating places and is within walking distance from the beach. City hall is across the street. I felt safe walking by myself both day and night, crowded or not. Every Thursday night, they have an art festival where local artists and artisans display and sell their work. I really enjoyed attending the art festival.
A great place to sit down and relax, few restaurants are near and coffee shops.
A small jewel place is beautiful and fantastic for visit with all family
Beautiful plaza with amazing architecture. Very neat and with plenty of parking and places to eat. Lovely!
There is alot of history in this place. It's my first time visiting this area and really enjoyed the cultural experience.

I’ve never been there , it’s beautiful and all the staff are kind, friendly and welcoming!!
Needs some maintenance work to make it look nicely. visibility on the side areas is partially limited.
Awesome the place is over 100yrs old and beautiful inside.
My friend had a low sugar episode the other night we went, i asked one of the staff members to see if they had any type of sweets for her, they all quickly and promptly shuffled to find candy for her even water, excellent and attentive job from the theater staff.
Pretty well kept and good looking place considering it's age. Good A/C and surprisingly good bathrooms.
The place is great and elegant. The Staff are adorable! Bring a jacket is chilly in there!
Great venue. Sears are packed too dense.

Very pleasant place to walk around and see exotic fruits. Just check in with the information desk and they'll give you a map. I'm sure they lost some trees during Maria, but it no longer looks hurricane-damaged at all.
This is not a botanical garden at all. As the name implies, it is an agricultural research station. I have heard many people complaining about the "botanical garden close to the UPRM", but it is not. Although a research facility where you will always find scientists around doing their job, there are areas accessible to the general public where you can see different trees and flowers. The place is very clean and well maintained. I have to be honest and say that I have not visited this facility in a couple years, but from the exterior I can tell that not too much things have not changed and that the essence or scope of the research station has not changed.
This location was devastated by the hurricane. Most of the large trees here fell. Not worth visiting for a while.
Very nice plants.

Loved the breakfast! Excellent staff and amenities. The reception personnel were great, they treat us like home. They even had an Happy Easter Activity for the kids. The pool area was neat and spacious with umbrellas and music. Rooms were comfortable.
This is a great hotel. Conveniently located 15 minutes from downtown Mayagüez on PR#2 road. It is next to a Regional Airport, and minutes away to shopping malls, grocery stores, cinemas, a Pharmacy, and restaurants. The grounds are well kept, their pool very clean, the building itself had no visible wear and tear. But the best part is the staff. In every encounter I had with them - housekeeping, front desk, casino, and the bar – they went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was the best possible experience. Also, they are fully bilingual. I will stay here again next time I am in Mayagüez. I wish I could give this hotel a perfect score, but there are some engineering/structural issues that I wish they correct to enhance even more their guests experience: •Your elevator is too slow and it does not have air conditioning. •Your bathrooms do not have a steam fan. All that shower steam accumulates in the room, and with nowhere to go, it gives the room a slight musty smell. •The lights in the room are very weak. See the attached photos. I had all the lights turned on and the room was still too dark, especially the desk area. I had to go downstairs to the lobby to get adequate light to get my work done. I hope you can make these small improvements, and I look forward to experience them on my next trip.
Adrian was excellent at making drinks in the West Coast Bistro and you can order pool side with a quick text. The staff were helpful and nice. We had a great experience here and would go again!
We are Holiday Inn members IHG. We have used all hotels in USA as a military family. Never had an issue with breakfast. We purshase the room and automatically all family has breakfast privileges. But not here, only the military member gets the breakfast and the rest who are older than 9 pays 25 dollars. That’s is outrageous. They recommended us to get the regular fair 200 dollars more for breakfast. Ridiculous. The services are not there yet…
Very good customer service. Very clean room service. Front desk staffs are very welcoming. I forgot to checkout, thank you, front desk girl call me to remind. We are definitely coming back.
Stayed here for a work trip over two nights. This was my first time staying at an IHG property (prefer Hilton and Marriott but unfortunately they have no Mayaguez properties). It was nice enough but not impressive. The bed was quite comfortable so that was a positive, along with the nice sunset view. The food wasn’t very good - night one I tried a side of mofongo (first time, green plantain, did not like it), chicken fettuccine Alfredo (didn’t have much Parmesan in the sauce and it almost tasted like it was made with spoiled/nearly spoiled dairy), crème brûlée (was the best thing but not at all what you’d expect); morning one I had a veggie/cheese omelette with breakfast potatoes and toast (wasn’t terrible). Definitely didn’t choose to order more food after that. The rooms could use a dehumidifier, and the hallways would benefit from consistent AC to further assist with the heat/humidity.
Just accompany a friend who wants to play at a casino. Well, no wins, all machines are rigid. Not many people here. No winners in this place, only the house wins. I didn't want to stay in this hotel. Just not my preference or atmosphere
Super clean. Free parking. Great food at the bistro. Black bean soup is a must. The best GM and crew.

Pizza hot and ready
It's a carry out place, and they never seem to answer the phone making people go there to order and then make them wait for 15‐20 minutes for the food while if they actually bothered to answer the phone this wouldn't happen. Sometimes they do answer but it's basically a reverse Russian Rullete you are lucky if they answer you, 9 times out of 10 they won't answer. I don't know what's happening with the staff or how they are treating them. But something needs to change. Food is good but the service in that regard is aweful.
These people don't answer the phone
Very Practical! I used to call. Always on time in 15min... Last few times I didn't order by phone. Tried Hot & Ready, added Crazy Bread etc and was out of there in probably less than 5 min... Like I wanted (take out)... Service has been quick and nice... Good Price for Students (parents)... Tip: Get your Big Bottle of Soda at the supermarket first... Order before if you want white sauce..
Once before a time this was one of the slowest pizza place ever, but after the hurricane they finally realized that a hot and ready pizza is supposed to be always ready. They made some nice changes to the store itself and its quite alright I guess. The only thing it lacks is seats and a space to eat your pizza.
They don’t speak English but great customer service trying to figure out what you want to order! Was nice being from the states and being able to get a cheap pizza for a movie and dinner in hotel.
This little Caesar’s has been there for at least 30 years that I know. remember going there as a teen big deal back then,I see some people saying they don’t have seats does any little Caesar do? What do u expect! there’s no real good pizza in PR any way!
Great customer service and the store is very clean. I didn't have to wait for my order either. The pizza was great and so are the prices.

The mall has so much to offer that I had to go back a second time. I loved the pretzels at the kiosk. I brought some nice Puerto Rico tees for myself and an authentic Puerto Rican dress shirt. Many shops to browse and buy. A quick trip to Walmart for a special thank you card for my host family. Great in every way.
Only good mall on the west good for shopping and walk around
Mayagüez Mall has always been one of my favorite malls. It's a bit sad to see that many stores have closed over the years, but it's great to see new ones still opening and keeping the place alive. The mall continues to have that classic charm with a good mix of shopping, food, and local vibes. Always worth a visit when I'm in the area!!!!
One stop shop! Everything you need in one place! All the vendors and sales associates are very helpful, attentive and kind! We love this place!
The best shopping mall in the Cabo Rojo, Mayagüez area of Puerto Rico. 10 minutes from Cabo Rojo. Right off the main roads, so convenient for all areas to reach it easily. Plenty of stores and food options inside as well as in the surrounding area. Krispy Kreme is even right in the parking lot. Walmart is one to the anchors as is JC Penny and Sears. Parking is usually pretty easy but in prime seasons or holidays it can be a bit nuts.
$3.99 Souvenirs? Great bakery Food inside the mall! They have a little store with dope PR stuff!!
It’s a nice place to shop for everything. I would like to suggest to management to identify the parking area, so that it is easier to know where you parked
Pretty nice mall to shop in. The only thing is that everyday it looks like Black Friday with the amount of people coming in and out of this mall. Way too many people. And most of the things are expensive even in the 99¢ store.

The island is managed under the Mona and Monito Islands Nature Reserve (Reserva Natural Islas de Mona y Monito). There are no native inhabitants; only rangers and biologists from Puerto Rico's Department of Natural and Environmental Resources reside on the island, to manage visitors and take part in research projects. The island, along with Monito, form part of the Mona and Monito Islands National Natural Landmark which recognizes and preserves the islands' ecosystem as an outstanding example of diversity and natural history. The island is home to a number of endemic species such as the Mona ground iguana and it is an important seabird area. Mona Island is believed to have been originally settled by the Taíno since the 12th century or sooner. An archeological excavation during the 1980s discovered many Pre-Columbian objects on the island that helped support historians' theories of the island's first inhabitants. Stone tools found in a rock shelter have been dated to around 3000 BC.Much later the island was settled by the Taínos and remained so until the arrival of the Spanish in the 15th century.
Members of my USA speleological organization informed me of speleology in-progress at Isla de Mona. Of all the islands I'd visited to enjoy I envy all who choose this adventure.
Amazing water and visibility to a deeper level. The heat is very strong so you have to bring protection , clothing, water and necessary items for a wild environment. Otherwise, spectacular
I was flying from Puerto Plata to Mayaguez Puerto Rico. When weather prevented a landing in Mayaguez with not enough fuel to return to Dominican Republic, I had to land on the deserted Mona grass strip, spent the night under the wing and was woken up bright and early by giant curious iguanas. It was like Jurassic Park Island!!!
When I was in the US Coast Guard we would patrol the area of Isla de Mona for migrants trying to make it to US soil. It’s a hot spot for that kinda stuff.
This is where the giant Pterodactyl-like monster Rodan lives in the 2019 Godzilla: King of the monsters film. It's most likely that Rodan will side with Godzilla to defeat King Ghidorah in the upcoming film, as he has done in the past movies

great postal service ever love it 5 start rating love to send mail and buy post stamps
This people don't answer the phone no costumer service this place is awful 🤔😖😖😖
(Translated by Google) It is incredible the lack of organization for delivery that the postman and his wife have, several times (20+) they have left letters and packages from other people in my mailbox, and likewise my packages and my letters also those of my relatives and people I know in other mailboxes, there are times when they are supposed to deliver a package to you and they tell you they do not have it and when they look for it they have it in the vehicle and insist that they do not have anything. It is unfair that you are waiting for something and they have already delivered it somewhere else and you have to wait for the person to deliver it because they do not remember that they delivered it somewhere else. It is unfortunate that when you call they never answer to tell them that you pick up the package at the post office for fear that it will be lost. Sad reality! Beautiful cathedral. Even more so at Christmas time.
Beautiful Church! You can feel God's love as soon as you walk in.
I am not Catholic and dislike the Catholic emphasis on the gothic, and esoteric inside view of Catholic places of worship, but this is not a bad place to visit.
Returning to the church where I was baptized 52 years ago was a profound experience, made even more special as we celebrated the baptism of my best friend's son in March 31, 2024. This is the second time that I visited the church in the last 2 years. I got to baptized my Goddaughter in December 2022 at this cathedral. The care and attention given by the staff were evident from the moment we arrived. Attending on Easter Sunday added to the significance of the occasion, with the church radiating warmth and spirituality. The atmosphere was uplifting, and it was clear that the church continues to be a place of deep meaning and community. Overall, our experience was nothing short of wonderful. I am grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with my roots and witness such a memorable event in the same place where my journey began.
Iglesias la Candelaria anchors itself on one side of the city square; from what I observed the best part of the grimy city.
This is another catholic church for those of faith to the one true God who Died for hour sin, who so ever believe in him shall be resurrected to life everlasting in Jesus name. Amen
Beautiful church with lots of history. The Cathedral is beautiful, peaceful and spiritual.
It's a beautiful cathedral!!
