Quirky 5-level structure shaped like a cube puzzle, with art exhibits & a wine tasting room.
Slide 1 of 8
We started at the blending bench with our host Mike which we enjoyed then headed to the next floor to have some lunch a gin cocktail and a wine we then went and checked out the art museum on the first floor which was interesting. The art everywhere is quirky and fun. We took a look at the art Marque and finished our day with some bottles of wine to have when we got home. The views are wonderful and the cube is quirky ,fun and unique with a really good vibe. The toilets are definitely a talking point 😊
Quirky exhibition and fab cafe in a cube building, surrounded by vines. How to describe the exhibits? Weird, wonderful, unnerving, funny, sexy, strange, imaginative. I could go on! The cafe on the 3rd floor is really good value, with high quality light meals and a fantastic view, with far friendly and attentive team working here. This place is definitely unique, and I love it!
I’d say the number 1 winery to visit, perhaps in all of SA. The building itself and views are simply unmatched. Any fan of wine, arts, and natural landscapes has to visit. The $20 entry included tasting of five white or red wines on the beautiful top floor, and access to the rest of the building’s decorative installations. We also spent $10 on the Dali exhibit, which was well worth it. It’s a very cool looking spot but maybe not the best for kids. There isn’t much for them here.
The verandah restaurant was an amazing experience with top class service and phenomenal dishes. Visiting the cube, seeing the Dali exhibition and the wine tasting from the top of the cube topped off a great visit.
What a gem of a winery - the d’Arenberg Cube blew us away from start to finish. Ground level hosts a free art space that’s totally MONA-esque - immersive and unforgettable. Level 2 features real Salvador Dalí works - mind officially blown. Level 3 café serves vibrant SE Asian bites that hit the spot. Level 4 tasting room offers panoramic vineyard views and incredible pours. Their Sauvignon Blanc with hints of jalapeño and green capsicum alone was worth the trip. Friendly staff, unique vibes, and an experience you won’t find anywhere else - can’t wait to cube again!
We popped up in The d’Arenberg Cube in McLaren Vale SA 5171 at the day after the King’s Birthday holiday 2025. The admission free is $20 per adult including either red or white flight tasting and free historical and artwork visit. Thanks Hugo and Mike, who served us and gave us the information. My overall experience is more than satisfactory 👍
Fantastic and unmissable. The art is spectacular, the wine is delicious and the whole experience is excellent. You must see the Salvador Dali exhibition as part of your ticket. Also visit the tent art in the grounds.
I had the most amazing time at the d’Arenberg Cube, it’s genuinely one of the best winery experiences I’ve ever had. The building itself is stunning and the whole place has such a fun, unique vibe, but the real highlight was the wine tasting. Tammy was absolutely exceptional. She was warm, knowledgeable, and made the entire tasting so enjoyable. She took the time to walk us through each wine, shared great stories, and created such a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Her passion and energy truly elevated the whole experience. If you’re visiting McLaren Vale, the Cube is an absolute must! Incredible wines, beautiful views, and staff who go above and beyond. Highly recommend!

Beautiful garden to sit in while doing my wine tasting. The staff were very friendly and helpful offering an insightful discussion about each of the wines and then leaving a good amount of time for me to enjoy my experience between tastings. Both the wine and cheeseboard was great!
Terrific Shiraz's, great setting, young Alex very informative, attentive, and polite. Relaxing day out.
Beautiful place, we had a gin and wine tasting. The outdoor setting and picnic grass area was just wonderful, we had the sunshine and all. One thing was, the kitchen closed too early for us to have any food, so we left a little hungry.
It was an enjoyable visit on Saturday 6th Jan 24. Weather was rainy and we were there when it first opened. Despite the business setting up for the day a nice engaging young lady took us through the wines. A great venue and our host for the wines did a fantastic job. We signed up and look forward to getting more wines. Highly recommend.👏👏👏👍🍷
Beautiful place to hang out in the afternoon/ evening. They offer outdoor cinema sometime which kids enjoy a lot. However, very limited selection of beer and food is really poor. We tried a pizza and a couple of chicken burgers, none was good. I also noticed that many people complained about getting the wrong order. I would suggest visiting but don’t have high hopes getting a good meal.
Very beautiful garden, nice wine and cheese platter is really tasty! Most importantly, pet friendly! Definitely recommended 😊
What a fantastic Winery, Cellar door experience! Family friendly, fantastic outdoor event space with grass, kids fusbal goal, BIG screen outdoor screen for everything from sport to movies! (The food, Shiraz and XPA Craft Ale we tried were awesome!)
The garden was lush and pretty, and the atmosphere very welcoming. Thank you for such a great afternoon! We had a wine tasting for 18 in the garden and the servers were charming and knowledgeable. Wines were delicious too.

Large winery with restaurant and tasting area. Set in gorgeous gardens and surrounding landscape. Delicious range of reds, whites and pinks. Post and rail fence is largest example I’ve ever seen!
We found this vineyard by chance and loved it so much. The staff are very friendly. Coffee was amazing (the best coffee that I’ve had recently). We enjoyed the food and prices are reasonable. I had an amazing time even though I don’t drink wine so you can enjoy your time at this place even if you don’t drink. Overall highly recommended!
Harry’s Deli was recommended to us and did not disappoint. Our group of eight (all from interstate) enjoyed the best service - we had the a la carte menu and all meals were just delicious. Great wine and great food.
Wirra Wirra will always be 5/5. The wine is beautiful, with reasonably priced tastings that showcase the incredible wines on offer. Bec was very very very knowledgeable about the wine, vineyards, production process, the grapes and everything in between. Her bubbly personality and willingness to answer questions made the tasting not only delicious but informative too. Plenty of parking available at Wirra Wirra too. Great location that is also child friendly too. The environment is steeped in rich heritage of delicious wines coupled with the country feeling of McLaren Vale. Next we trotted over to Harry’s Deli. The catering manager Carly was just as excellent as the food. Our server was attentive, considerate, professional and polite. The food portions were generous and reasonably priced. We shared our smaller plates and our mains. The variety on the menu is perfect for the venue and has something to cater to all. Wirra Wirra wines are a staple in our home and we walked out with a few to add to the collection. Another gorgeous trip to a place that feels like walking into a welcoming and warm home. It’s accessible all year round with flat ground for wheelchair and mobility access, plus indoor and outdoor seating with the fire roaring in winter means visiting all year round is a breeze. We will always come back here for a lovely weekend meal. It truly feels like luxury meets the comforts of home. An asset to McLaren Vale.
We celebrated my husband's 60th at Wirra Wirra last weekend in a private room which was beautifully set up. It was amazing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The wines are top notch as was the food and service - we cannot fault anything! We were able to experience setting off the catapult (organised in advance) and my husband was able to also ring the Anglican Church Bell that's on site at the end of the day. We cannot recommend Wirra Wirra highly enough and if we ever want to hold another special event in SA, Wirra Wirra will be at the top of our list of places to hold it. Karly was amazing to deal with right from the start - an amazing human being always smiling and accommodating! We'd like to personally thank her wholeheartedly - we were in great hands! We'd also like to thank staff member Luke who assisted Karly on the day as well as the Catapult team Keith and Shane.
We visited Harry’s Deli for our 20th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed a beautiful bottle of 2016 Catapault Shiraz paired with the kingfish and chicken entrees and beef brisket and Asian duck noodle salad for mains. Food was amazing and views were lovely. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. Definitely worth a visit whilst McClaren Vale.
A great place for wine tasting and lunch. Don't be fooled by the name Harry's 'Deli' - the food is sophisticated with more of a restaurant feel.
We went today for lunch, booked for 8 people, half from interstate. We had an extra 2 adults with 2 kids (2 years old and 1 year old) that wanted to join us, not to eat, just to have a drink and for company. Once we mentioned this, we were told we were required to go to the seasonal meal, which was $70 a head. This wouldn’t be an issue if they were actually eating, but they weren’t. The attitude of the waitress who served us was nothing short of disappointing and rather rude. Not flexible, not willing to work with us and borderline arrogant. In all honesty, we wanted to leave there and then. Such a shame as table service was great, food was great but it left a really bad taste in our mouth that we couldn’t have a couple more sit with us who wanted to be apart of the crew. The place had plenty of seating which was even more disappointing. Rather than joining us, they were made to sit on the other side of the winery and had to wait for us to have lunch. Based on the way the situation was handled. I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.

Went on a wine tour for our friends 21st. Staff was super accommodating specially since we were running late and kept pushing back the time. The staff (sorry forgot his name) even let us try a fortified wine that they sell but normally don't do a tasting for. We ended up loving it and buying it. We even ended up buying quite a few bottle of wines. Great staff, amazing service and great wines Oh and the Turkey pate was amazing too!!
I can’t recommend Oliver’s Taranga highly enough! From the moment we pulled up, the restored heritage cellar door - its perfect balance of rustic charm and modern style - made us feel right at home. The team greeted us like old friends, guiding us through a lineup of small-batch wines that genuinely showcase McLaren Vale’s sun-kissed fruit. And then there’s Tex - their beloved winery dog - who rocketed to local fame in 2020 after sporting an epic lovegrass dreadlock (and scoring an impromptu shave!), making every pour even more memorable with his laid-back, tail-wagging welcome. If you’re after world-class wine, stunning vineyard views, and hospitality that feels straight from the heart, make Oliver’s Taranga your first stop in McLaren Vale. 10/10! 🍷🐾
My daughter and I recently did the Golf Cart Tour and wine tasting at Oliver's Taranga and the experience was wonderful - well worth the cost. Guide was very knowledgeable, kind, considerate (it rained) and fun. All in all a great overview experience with lovely wines to boot! We highly recommend :)
Oliver's Tartans has come a long way since I last visited it over 5 years ago. In 2021 they extended their outdoor tasting area into a large, beautiful undercover area, complete with heaters to keep you warm in winter, see through blinds to keep the wind out, and roof to keep you cool during summer. We visited on Spring (Oct 2025) and tried each of their two tastings they had available. The first is a basic $15 tasting, and the second is a $30 tasting including their more premium priced wines ($80/bottle). [See uploaded pictures] They also have 3 pate-style platters priced at $40 each. The first is an ethically-sourced duck lover pate. The second is a Mushroom-pate with a herbed butter. This is the one we tried [see uploaded pictures for the pates available]. Their was plenty of bread, a little bit of dried fruit and two medium sized dried-'crackerbread' pieces. The jar of Mushroom pate was a good size for the amount of bread we were given. While the taste of wines is very subjective according to each person's palate, we did enjoy the wines we tasted from both the basic and premium ranges. Interestingly enough had both tasted one of their wines called, Fiano, at a pub just South of Adelaide, called 'The Ed'. We liked it and bought it for $25 at the bottle shop next to The Ed. At Oliver's Taranga, the same bottle costs $29. For comparison, a bottle shop in Dulwich (a suburb East of Adelaide) were selling the Fiano at $32/bottle. So it pays to shop around for the best price if that is something that you value. Overall the experience, service and knowledge of our host - Jacqui, on this occasion - was superb. The decor and ambience was equally impressive as were the views over the vineyard. Highly recommended.
Best wine tasting experience in McLaren Vale thus far. Really stood out to us with the fresh bread and freshly pressed olive oil. Additionally Jacqui was very attentive and informative to our needs. We will be signing up to the membership thanks to her inputs.
It going to lie, as a massive F1 fan, we came here specifically for Valteri’s Shiraz, but the experience here was world class. The tasting was run perfectly, there were snacks included and our server was so knowledgeable and delightful to talk to, we loved it. Such a beautiful front deck, really good vibe and delicious wine, this is a fast favourite for us 🍷
We had a wonderful wine tasting with nibbles. A beautiful spot to start our day of exploring the region, thank you!
Evan was a really knowledgeable and passionate host and made sure we had the best tasting experience. The whole arrangement at Oliver's Taranga was welcoming, even for the kids and non drinkers in the group. Loved getting to know more about the boutique type of winery experience. The Shiraz' were amazing and so was the 'Banished'.

Had a great tasting and tour of the winery with Clive. He was an absolute delight. I highly recommend the Velvet Tasting Experience. It was a beautiful day to be on the grounds with someone so knowledgeable. Wine and snacks were better than expected and we certainly didn't leave empty handed! Communication with the bookings and experience team was easy despite a change to our original plan. 5 stars across the whole team and experience for a wonderful day.
Mollydooker Winery never fails to impress. This was my fourth visit, and once again I was amazed by the outstanding experience. Our host, James, enhanced our visit with his excellent wine knowledge and engaging presentation. With its beautiful setting, delicious wines, and wonderful people, Mollydooker truly stands out. If you’re looking for the best Shiraz in Australia, Mollydooker Winery is the place to be!
I’m a bit of a wine buff and also a bit cynical when I see labels that look like a comic strip, yes old school. But.. the wines were fantastic very fruit driven with a lovely soft finish, very approachable, no need to cellar them. For a traditional wine drinker they may be lacking a bit in structure like a big Barossa red, but give them a go, you’ll be surprised I was. Clive our host was excellent with his knowledge and enthusiasm, and service above expectation.
Thanks mollydooker winery staff: My daughter surprised me for my 70th birthday coming from melb for my surprise. We had the most amazing platter, delicious wine and the view is spectacular. Hoping to surprise my sister for hers if I can book the day.
The top notch marketing and the stunning place brought us here. Then came only disappointment. Poor, not to say rude service. Uninteresting, if not off topic explanations. Despite the room was almost empty, 2 people cannot have 2 different tasting flights. Either one or the other. Bad experience. Very sad as the place is lovely and has everything to make you have a good time.
We came in last week and I can honestly say the experience and tasting were amazing. Clive was so so knowledgeable and friendly! Safe to say we had 8 bottles shipped back to NSW 🫶🏽
Exceptional and breathtaking place! My husband and I chose the red wine tasting and absolutely loved it. Clive was beyond amazing as our guide during the tasting — warm, friendly, fun, and gave us the best recommendations. Starting my 30th birthday celebrations in the best possible way today, and I already can’t wait to come back to this wonderful place. I’m simply in love!
While on holiday at Henley Beach, one of our group suggested an outing to Molly Dooker wines. They had sampled The Boxer while in Sydney visiting family and were keen to see where it was made. Excellent host, great information, easy pace for the tasting. We even converted a "don't touch red wine" man to try it out and he loved the sparkling shiraz - Miss Molly enough to purchase some for next week's river boat trip. Since we were on holiday it was an easy decision to stay on a little longer to sample a platter and a glass to wash it down! The dukkah, fresh breads and olive oil a real delight, salami and a American merlot wrapped cheddar a very tasty match with a glass of Blue eyed Boy Shiraz.

We loved our visit to Samuel's Gorge winery. The location was so pretty and the wine tasting was very nice. The young lady that served us was entertaining and knowledgeable, a real asset to the biz. We enjoyed it so much that we've placed an order and its on its way to us in WA, happy days. We highly recommend a visit to Samuel's Gorge winery.
I had a wonderful time visiting this charming vineyard — an absolute hidden gem nestled among rolling hills and nature. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly and attentive staff who made us feel completely at home. Their warmth and passion for the place truly enhanced the experience. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy, with old-world charm. Inside, the vintage equipment and warm interiors create a unique, heritage feel — perfect for soaking in the moment with a glass of wine in hand. Outside, the view is absolutely stunning. We sat under a canopy of red leaves overlooking sun-drenched hills — the kind of peaceful view that makes you want to sit and chat for hours. This is the ideal spot to unwind with friends or family. Whether you're catching up over trivia, sharing stories, or just enjoying the silence and the scenery, this place encourages you to slow down and be present. The setting, both inside and out, is Instagram-worthy, and the calm vibe is a welcome escape from city life. It’s not just a wine-tasting stop — it’s a destination where you can really relax and enjoy quality time. Great wine, great company, and a beautiful view — what more could you ask for? Definitely a place I’ll return to, and one I highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy, scenic, and welcoming vineyard experience.
It’s a very old-school style winery. To be honest, they don’t do much marketing, and I stumbled upon it by accident—but it absolutely amazed me. The tasting fee is only $10 per person, and you can choose four wines. The whites are fairly average, but interestingly, two of the reds have impressive depth and are perfect as everyday table wines. However, their Shiraz isn’t as outstanding as those from other wineries. The prices are great, and the scenery is stunning. Just note that there aren’t many tables available for guests!
A beautiful little spot. Went for a solo tasting today and was very well taken care of by all the wonderful women who clearly love their work 🥺 Views are gorgeous, feels homey and comfortable. Wine is also bloody delicious and unique. If you’re a red drinker who likes a slightly quieter and more intimate tasting, this place is for you ❤️‍🔥
I came here on my own, book and camera in hand, and ready to try some wines. The Reds are simply divine and the staff oh so friendly! I can assure you I didn't go home empty handed, and neither will you want to.
Fantastic spot — the wine is excellent, the views are stunning, and the staff share a great story that adds to the experience
I had the most incredible wine testing experience here. It was beyond anything I expected. Staff very friendly 🫶🏻 Thank you so much
One of our favourite wineries in the McLaren Vale, we come for their Grenache and always love their knowledgeable and friendly staff and could stare at their view for days on end. This is one of McLaren Vale’s hidden gems and well worth a visit. Primo Estate offers a beautifully designed cellar door experience with modern architecture, clean lines, and panoramic vineyard views from the driveway through to the tasting area. The red carpet walkway into the venue adds a touch of elegance as you approach. We had a fantastic tasting session hosted by a knowledgeable and passionate team member who took the time to guide us through the unique character of each wine. Every pour was part of a story, whether it was their rich and smooth Joseph red blends, crisp white varietals, or indulgent fortifieds. The presentation of the wines was spot-on, and the glasses were immaculately clean and perfectly poured. Inside, the tasting space was thoughtfully laid out with plenty of room, natural light, and beautifully arranged wine displays lining the walls. Their collection includes both Italian-inspired and Australian wines, all carefully curated and available for purchase. A highlight for us was how relaxing and calm the whole space felt, it never felt rushed. It's a place you can sit, sip, and soak in the atmosphere. We didn’t leave empty-handed either, too many great wines to resist. Highly recommend for wine lovers and anyone seeking a premium tasting experience. Monday 11 am–4 pm Tuesday 11 am–4 pm Wednesday 11 am–4 pm Thursday 11 am–4 pm Friday 11 am–4 pm Saturday 11 am–4 pm Sunday 11 am–4 pm
We are from Sydney, Four of us visited this venue with our Adelaide friends. We walked in last minute of the day and only 45 minutes to finish off. I didn’t test the wines so I wouldn’t comment on the testing. But the service was amazing. I loved the coffee at the end. The value of the testing was good because it was included the small nibbles. We enjoyed it . We got allocated in the nice private room. I gave 4 stars because of the overall experience, if we have stayed there longer and I tested the wines. I would be more than happy to provide more feedback. We will return when we visit McClaren region again.
Superb wines, superb venue, superb host (Lynley), and superb tasting experience. We spent nearly 90 minutes tasting an incredible range of wine, beginning with a Prosecco, fruity on the nose but dry on the way down, to cleanse the palate. The tasting notes, plus Lynley’s additional commentary, helped us appreciate and understand the wines set before us. When the reds were being poured, Lynley produced servings of bread and olive oil - much appreciated. Ended up getting a mixed dozen: Prosecco, Il Briccone Shiraz Sangiovese, and the Shale Stone Shiraz, plus a complimentary bottle of olive oil. A first-rate experience and an exceptional start to our day of discovering just a fraction of what McLaren Vale has to offer.
Fabulous experience at Primo estate this morning with Megan , she looked after us giving an insight of the history of the vineyard and the family who had been running it for 3 generations. We tasted 8 wines , who are a mix of Australian and Italian style , we were also lucky enough to try their delicious extra virgin olive oil , vinegar and Grana Padano. Thanks for your hospitality , you are an asset to the team ! We felt very fortunate to spend an hour here in this beautiful place. Thanks again
A beautiful tasting with the amazing host Lorina! She is very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We left feeling very happy and like we got a great value for money! We all left carrying a bottle each, the wines are that good! We would recommend this experience to everyone and we will definitely be back!😊
We had the most amazing morning at Primo Estate. Geoff was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. We had our 8 month old, 3 year old and our friends 3 year old and what could have been a very disrupted unenjoyable wine tasting experience with children he made it very easy and so much fun for us. The wines were absolutely delicious and Geoff was so informative about the wines. The venue itself is stunning and the olive oil is chefs kiss! Thank you for making our visit to McLaren Vale so wonderful Geoff!
Good wine, good service. Wine tasting stars from $15 per person for 6-7 wines. Beautiful cellar door, worth a visit.
Booked a wine tasting for 8 of us who had cycled down from Adelaide and we were not disappointed. Wonderful tasting led by Kirsty who did a great job managing 8 blokes. So welcoming, accommodating and knowledgable. Great variety of wines which we are now enjoying back in Perth.

We visited this Hugh Hamilton when we visited friends in Adelaide. Beautiful property with nice view. The history was great to learn The cellar door was originally the water tank & the office is underneath the cellar door. To learn the history from generations to generations and the black sheep were amazing! Kath was knowledgeable and provided wonderful service. We didn’t have the booking on the same day and Kath accommodates us to have to the table same day & straight after the phone call on a very busy day . The wines were fantastic! I loved the Ga- Lor -IA , the Shearer cut and Saperabi. My favorite is Saperavi. This the first time I tried and loved it. Our Adelaide friends joined the Black sheep Members. We definitely will come back when we have a chance to visit McClaren Vale.
We had the absolute pleasure of visiting Hugh Hamilton Wines and were guided through our tasting by the incredible Chrisna. Her knowledge was absolutely outstanding, she shared so much about the history of the vines, the wine, the winery itself, and the Hamilton family. It wasn’t just a tasting; it was a full storytelling experience that made us feel completely immersed in the place. The wines were fantastic, and we loved the thoughtful touch of a non-alcoholic drink between the red and white tastings, it was delicious and added a refreshing balance to the experience. From start to finish, it was exceptional. The setting is beautiful, the wines are superb, and Chrisna made it truly memorable. We can’t recommend Hugh Hamilton Wines enough. A must-visit in South Australia!
Wow, just wow! We absolutely loved our tasting experience. Alex was so knowledgeable and we really enjoyed hearing her story and background with the winery. The views are spectacular—truly breathtaking. This is not a place to drive past; it’s an absolute must-see. We came all the way from Perth and were thoroughly impressed!
Our guide Alex was fantastic and played a big role in our lovely experience at Hugh Hamilton. Her passion was contagious! The cellar door is quite unique in its shape and offers you a 360 degrees view on the vineyards. The storytelling around the black sheep was nice too.
An absolutely fantastic cellar door surrounded by panoramic views of hills and vineyards! As soon as I picked up my friends from Adelaide Airport, I headed straight here.I wanted them to experience one of the most special wineries in McLaren Vale. We enjoyed some truly delicious wines, and learning about their concept and history was fascinating. The cellar door itself, which was once a water tank, is full of creative charm, from the imaginative wine names to the gorgeous self-portrait painted by Hugh Hamilton himself. It was an unforgettable experience showcasing incredible creativity and aesthetic beauty. Highly recommended!
We had such a fantastic time visiting Hugh Hamilton Vineyard. The views over the McLaren Vale vineyards were absolutely stunning, and the cellar door was beautifully set up, welcoming, modern, and full of character. Visited Hugh Hamilton 4 or 5 times 👍👌 The wine tasting was definitely the highlight of our visit. A big thank you to the lovely lady who guided us through the experience—she was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and had such a genuine passion for the wines and the history behind them. She made us feel comfortable from the start and explained each wine with warmth and clarity, making the tasting both fun and educational. Her hospitality truly elevated the whole experience. Every wine we tried was unique and full of personality, just like the Hamilton family story. We especially loved how creative and bold their wine names and labels are, it really reflects the spirit of the winery. Highly recommend a visit to Hugh Hamilton for anyone wanting an unforgettable tasting experience in a beautiful setting, with outstanding wines and wonderful staff. We’ll definitely be back 😊
A t truly great experience. The cellar door, the view and the area are stunning. The lady, who explained everything about the history, presence and wines was just so friendly, charming and knowledgeable! Thank you for that great experience!
This winery is a must visit. The staff are so knowledgeable and beyond helpful. You will feel like one of the family in no time. Please book so as not to be disappointed Their tasting room is second to none. Wine is Exquisite

We visited Coriole Vineyards on a cold, rainy day and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We sat inside by the warmth of the cozy cellar door, sipping on delicious wines while the rain fell outside. The atmosphere was inviting and relaxing, making it the ideal spot to settle in and enjoy the afternoon. The staff were professional, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable – they made us feel so welcome and were fantastic at pairing the wines, helping us discover new favourites. It was such a memorable experience, and I can’t wait to return on our next trip to McLaren Vale.
My first visit here was to listen to the Adelaide Baroque musicians perform Eastertide Passions and Sorrows. It was a great performance which also provided the opportunity to explore this lovely vineyard with amazing views. I didn't try any of the wines but did interact with one of the staff members who was most helpful and friendly. The number of people enjoying the food and wine would indicate that it is a popular venue to visit and celebrate special occasions.
Absolutely stunning food! Our first time to Coriole and it most certainly won’t be our last. The 4 of us embarked on the adventure of the “feed me” set menu and it did not disappoint! We left full to the brim (both from the food and wine) and very satisfied. The staff were equally great, enthusiastic, informative and helpful. Will be back soon
Lovely estate and fantastic wine. Our main waiter unfortunately did not give us information about each dish on the feed me menu and a paper menu was not provided...it took away from the experience. Nevertheless tasting room staff where delightful and the overall experience was lovely
Coriole, what a spectacular gem! Despite the temperament weather on the day, it didn't dampen the experience of wining and dining. The views were amazing, adding a touch of magic and romance to the day. We enjoyed the feed me tasting menu @ $85pp plus accompanying wines overlooking the vineyards. The lush picturesque vibe just complimented the carefully curated menu. The top notch food and wine combo ticked all the boxes that created the tapestry of the an experience. 🌟House made bread & butter Coriole olives Charcuterie pickles 🌟Beef carpaccio black garlic vincotto Parmesan 🌟Beetroot kale golden raisin curd sunflower seed salad 🌟House-made pasta Italian sausage leek Parmesan 🌟Sirloin pumpkin Brussel sprouts salsa verde 🌟 Roasted potatoes rosemary salt & vinegar side 🌟Garden leaves radish herb vinaigrette Then to finish off with Chef’s dessert, with Adelaide hills cheese seasonal fruit paste lavosh. Superb wines to pair. Unfortunately the service had its ups and downs, our main waiter serving us didn't quite hit the mark, lacked enthusiasm but kudos to the waitress who stepped in several times – she was absolutely excellent, with great smiles and she took time to share her knowledge and history of the region! Sometimes it's the standout moments with staff that really shape the experience. The gardens are sustainable, with whats grown in the veggie patch is served in the restaurant. The flowers and path leading to the back restrooms is also worth a mention. We would come back again for more tastings and enjoy the ambience but definitely recommend making reservations.
We visited Coriole for the wine tasting. What a lovely place! At the counter, Duncan was efficient despite the crowd and generously let us try a handful of different wines. He could answer any question and guided us to what could be the best fit. The Chenin blanc and the Grenache Gris, not common in McLaren Vale, were a pleasant surprise!
We had the $95 a head lunch. The food was sensational and accompanied by a lovely 2008 Chenin Blanc. In addition to the 5 course degustation menu we were also served a couple of samplers as well which was a nice touch. We were so full by the end of it we didn’t need dinner! As a bonus the location is beautiful and so close to Adelaide. We would highly recommend dining at Coriole
An unforgettable lunch at Coriole! The food is absolutely outstanding, showcasing the best of local, seasonal produce with real creativity and care. Our small group of 3 shared three entrées and the house-made focaccia to begin with, all bursting with flavour and beautifully presented, and a main dish each to follow. I ordered the perfectly cooked sirloin, served with pumpkin and brussel sprouts which was absolutely faultless! And we all agreed: exceptional food, outstanding wine, very friendly and attentive service from Lachlan, and stunning views over McLaren Vale. A must-visit!

I am beyond in love with this venue! My husband and I were fortunate enough to get married last month at this beautiful place. It was absolutely perfect! Massive shout out to Hope for everything, she went above and beyond for us with the lead up to the wedding and on the day. Was so glad we had her along for the ride with us! All staff on the day were amazing, could not fault any of them and the food was to die for. Couldn't recommend this place more, everyone fell in love with it (and the wine) can't wait to come back for more future family weddings x
Visited Chapel Hill Winery on Sunday morning and had an exceptional experience. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, guiding us through their impressive selection of wines. The highlight was undoubtedly their 2021 Small Batch Zinfandel—a delicate wine with notes of cherry, cranberry, plum, rhubarb, and musky spice. The winery's commitment to sustainable farming practices adds to its charm. The picturesque setting and quality wines make it a must-visit destination
What an incredible afternoon at this magical place The wine tasting was gold star with our curator Bruce . He's one of a kind beautiful soul and he made our day exceptional. The cheese was mouth watering and a must with the tasting . We tasted a bunch of wine and gone home with some incredible reds and a tomato relish to die for . Please continue doing what you are doing .. Giving people a people experience . Exceptional wine ..and a feeling they visited their family on a Friday afternoon...leaving them with a full belly and a smile and warm hug feeling..
Went here with our tour group and we were all made to feel very welcome. We went down the back into a beautiful room that had the amazing stained glass window shown in photos. A great selection of wines to taste and they were super generous with their pours. It was very easy to purchase wines and have the offer available for them to post back home for us. Even threw in a couple of the pourers which was amazing, thank you. A must visit winery in the McLaren Vale region.
Excellent location. Definitely worth a visit. All wines were nice - but just nice and not great. However, everyone's taste id different so give it a shot. Staff was lovely.
Experienced an Icon's Tastings. The House Block Shiraz was the fave. Road block was a close second. Had such a wonderful time and will definitely return again. A must see and do in Mclaren Vale
After two disappointing stops earlier in the day, Chapel Hill completely turned our experience around and reminded us what true hospitality feels like. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism by Christine, who went above and beyond to make our group feel comfortable. She provided us with a private, cozy room, an excellent selection of wines, and even arranged cheese platters on the spot, which were not originally part of our booking. The service was genuine and thoughtful, and Christine’s knowledge and passion for the wines made the tasting truly memorable. Our entire group agreed that Chapel Hill was the highlight of the day. Thank you, Chapel Hill, for turning what could have been a disappointing day into something very special. Highly recommended to anyone visiting McLaren Vale!
Lovely time in a beautiful chapell, great wines with great explanations all surrounded by breathtaking sceneries. Our wine host Peter was professionnel and friendly. Definitely learnt a lot and enjoyed every part of the experience. Strongly recommend!

James and I would like to thank Joan and all the wonderful staff at Old Oval Estate (Fork in the Road) for hosting our wedding ceremony and reception this October 2021. We live rurally (over 6 hours out of Adelaide) and dealing with Joan and the team was a breeze! Admittedly, I was a very low maintenance bride for my reception and ceremony as we wanted to keep it as simple as possible - but Joan and the team were more than accomodating! To the ease of communication, stunning natural views, catering options, a delicious drop or two and fantastic venue hire equipment already in place - you don't need to go anywhere else! I absolutely loved my special day, and I can't ever thank Joan and the team enough for making it happen. Do yourself a favour and keep this location in mind for any wedding or events you might be hosting - you won't be disappointed!
I have been fortunate to enjoy 2 functions here, my 40th in 2019 & my mums 70th yesterday. Joan and her team are so accomodating & friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The platters are a great way to enjoy a casual lunch & the wines are great too. The venue is just stunning, with sweeping views over the vineyards, light & airy under the pergola & a great lawned area to enjoy. I highly recommend this gorgeous venue.
My wife and I visited for a bottle of bubbles and a platter on a perfect Sunday afternoon. We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary after being married at Old Oval which was again, the perfect location. You must drop in for a wine taste, a platter or a wedding.
Lovely atmosphere, busy the day we went as vouchers were ending. Great seating areas for a Platter and glass of wine afternoon.
Very gorgeous views. Delicious food and even more delicious wines. Friendly and welcoming staff!
Gluten free friendly platters, lovely staff and delicious wine. The sparkling white is wonderful and light, enough so that non-bubbly drinkers enjoy. The Shiraz is so gorgeous too. Lovely views, we got to watch the blue fairy wrens play in the surrounding garden. We are now part of their club, and get half a dozen of our picks sent to us twice a year, too. Thank you!
We held our wedding at the Old Oval Estate in December 2016 and it was perfect. The venue was so versatile for a wedding, from the ceremony nestled in the vineyard, to drinks in the lovely garden, to then getting everyone under cover and warm when it got cold later at night. We got some great photos, and the locations helped guests to mingle. Joan was also terrific as a host and enabled us to relax. She has an eye for detail and has plenty of experience. She was also very warm and friendly to us and our guests, most people thought she was family! Oh and the wine was great too, which is of course important. We'd definitely recommend using the Old Oval Estate as a wedding venue. It was everything we had hoped for and more.
Just had a family birthday for 11 of us. Three magnificent platters with a variety of meats, cheeses and fruit all with a range of extra accompaniments, plus several bottles of wine - sparkling, white and red - all extremely good. Not only that, we were so well looked after throughout with every extra request being met with obvious pleasure, including providing utensils etc. for our own birthday cake. Very highly recommended.

We had such a great time at Angove Wines! The view from the cellar door is absolutely stunning – perfect spot to kick back and enjoy some incredible wines. Becky was an amazing host. Super knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience feel really personal. We walked away not only loving the wines but also feeling like we had a real understanding of the region and the story behind the winery. That kind of insight just adds so much. Also – do yourself a favour and get the olives with the tasting. You won’t regret it. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area. Cheers Becky!
This was our fourth time at Angove and from the very first visit we loved it. We’ve been to quite a few wineries but this one is always our favourite. The place is cozy and charming. The wines are always excellent and the food never disappoints… today the duck croquette was the highlight… sooo good. The service is also a big part of why we keep coming back. Brad has looked after us since our first visit and he always makes us feel welcome. All the other staff very attentive and a special thanks to Kat. For us Angove will always be the first choice and the place we recommend to everyone.
Angove Winery is an absolute gem — amazing wines and easily one of the best vineyards in McLaren. The setting is beautiful, the staff are warm and welcoming, and the experience feels truly special. A must-try is their sparkling, which is exceptional.
We’re just an ordinary family who walked into this winery restaurant on an ordinary Saturday afternoon — a place we had never been before. But thanks to the extraordinary service, spot-on recommendations, and beautifully tasty dishes, it turned into anything but an ordinary McLaren Vale experience. Moral of the story: trust Google reviews, trust the wisdom of the crowd — you just might end up with the best dining experience at Angove. Thank you friendly staff and masterful chefs, we’ll be back again.
Excellent place for dinner and wines. The oysters, steak and fish were superb and you won't be disappointed. See photos below. You should ring before you go as it's about 40 kms from Adelaide town centre.
We had the most incredible tasting at Angove for a group of 9, a mix of whisky tasting and wine tastings. The sommelier was so knowledgeable, the wine fantastic, and venue pristine. We also really appreciated the tips of what and where to eat in Adelaide.
Great lunch spot, can order off the menu or feed me for $85 per person. Good view from restaurant, service is great, food is delicious.
Visited Angove for my birthday lunch, the atmosphere, surroundings, views, lush green grass, freshly growing grapes, hills, service & food were all great. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome & relaxed. We loved the way all the tables were arranged so the seating was facing the views / vineyards. The restaurant was so clean, fresh & modern & the views were the icing 🧁 We arrived at 12:30 to an empty restaurant but it filled up quickly reflecting on how popular this winery is. We ordered from the a la carte menu & we were not disappointed. For entree we tried the arancini, scallops & zucchini flowers & all were exceptional. For main I chose the roasted eggplant dish, this was served with the most amazing curry sauce that was soooooo delectably tasty & the baked pumpkin dish - both dishes were next level yumminess - omg!! 🤤 My husband chose the grass fed sirloin which was cooked to perfection & bursting with flavour, also with a delicious sauce. The food & service was exceptional, with so many wineries to choose from in McLaren Vale it was difficult to choose one, we are very glad we chose this one & are looking forward to visit again next time we are in SA.

Our favourite winery in the region and this visit maintained the high standards we have come to expect from this fun winery. The tasting room here is such a vibe, or server was incredibly knowledgeable and the wines here are so interesting and delicious it really is a world class experience. All served with light snacks we left with a bunch of bottles, big smiles, and rosy cheeks 😉
Excellent wine tasting experience. The staff are very informed about their wines. The cellar door is lovely and so are the surrounding vineyards. You’re looking at $20 for a tasting of 7 wines which cover a range of wine profiles and palate preferences. A complimentary plate of olives and bread is also served.
Recently spent 3 days in McLaren Vale working our way through some cellar doors. Alpha Box & Dice was recommended to us & was hands down the best on our list out of about 10. Cooper looked after us through a tasting & he was amazing. Took us on a journey through the selection with great knowledge, a lot of love for his job and just an all round easy to chat to guy. We will be back 🫶
Absolutely amazing winery!! Zoe and Gabby were absolutely amazing girls and we loved chatting to them. Zoe is an awesome server and told us about all the wines we tasted and answered all the questions we had about the wines and about Adelaide as we are from Queensland !! The Club Prosecco was my Top favourite as well as the tarot range 🩷
We spent a few hours at Alpha Box yesterday afternoon and couldn’t recommend it more! Rowan shared an incredible wealth of knowledge about the wines we tasted—we learned so much and experienced such a unique variety. They even welcomed us with a glass of bubbles to kick things off! The background music set a great vibe, and the boutique winery itself was so cool and funky. Thanks Rowan and co! 🫶
Awesome set up for a wine in the sun. Great advice on bottle selection from the staff. Picked up a few bottles to take home as well.
Great cellar door experience, fantastic and generous tasting plates and knowledgeable fun folk looking after us. Interesting wines and nice to see a. On-alcoholic tasting flight. Highly recommend.
Fantastic winery, premium tasting and additional half deluxe cheese board was the perfect way to spend time in Adelaide. Staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable both about the wines and the region. Loved the Ancient Youth so much we got a few bottles shipped back home to share at Christmas lunch! Thanks again for having us!

Absolutely love McLaren Vale. Another amazing micro/standard brewery which I hadn't heard of. The bar man again was great. Loaded us up with tastings and then actually charged us for a quarter of what we tasted. Beers were nice and atmosphere amazing.
What a beautiful location for a beer break. Best craft beers I ever tasted. Particularly the mix of Mango NEIPA and Ginger Beer, wow!!! Indian Red ale also worth a special mention, go try it, you won’t be disappointed. Mary and Jeff are on top of their game and so welcoming.
Another beautiful location to enjoy a beer or 2 :) Lovely beers I always enjoy trying different ones in a paddle. Keep up the good work.
What a wonderful setting to sit and have a few beers. a number of different brew options to try. Ability to buy takeaways as well. Parking available. Merchandise to purchase. Pack a lunch, didn't see any food, although was only there for the beers so wasn't really looking. Check opening times.
1st time visiting and what a great find Extensive and good tasting beer selection. Good value for money Beer Paddles Friendly and welcoming service Beautiful setting Look forward to heading back in winter to sample their stouts
Very nice setting. Would have been nice to be able to buy a coffee for all the designated drivers though
What a lovely place to sit under grape vines and enjoy a tasting platter. The ginger beer and cider really are excellent, while the hazy IPA and pale ale slid down far too easily. Great friendly host and a peaceful environment to relax and enjoy the best of the region.
So cool, and so glad we visited. The beers we tried were all top class, especially the ginger beer and the coffee stout. Definitely get a tasting though and mix in a few other brews as from what we tried, there is a palate pleaser for everyone. Everything is done onsite here, even the bottling, so if you’re after a local beer experience in the heart of wine country, don’t miss visiting Goodieson.

We had the absolute pleasure of being able to get married here last March and it was the best decision! We honestly didn't look at any other venues - as soon as we walked in and were greeted by the friendly staff we knew this was it! The wine is THE BEST, the venue / premise is unmatched and mostly the staff are so kind and you can sense a real family vibe every time you go there! On our actual day they went over and above to make our day so special! They worked so well with our vendors and it was lovely to see the joy they were bringing all our guests when getting drinks and food! We are so thankful we got married here and enjoy coming back every now and then to reminisce on the beautiful ay with a splendid glass of wine!
We are from Sydney visiting friends in Adelaide and we chose this vineyard from the local magazine from the accomodation where we stayed. The venue was amazing set , view , atmosphere and the location.. we loved the style of the venue . Janet was wonderful and friendly. We loved the tasting experience. We bought Tempranillo and Shiraz. The wines were fantastic with different varieties. I liked the Mediterranean range & my partner loved the Premium range. They also do Sunday live music with pizza which would be amazing. This is one of our favourite places in McLaren Vale .
A fabulous long weekend activity to bring your picnic blanket set up On the lawn enjoy live music and buy your wine and food! Such a wonderful atmosphere created. We had a tasting with Janet and she was so passionate and knowledgeable. Thank you. It remains one of our favourite wines to drink.
Not one of the biggest or fanciest wineries but surely some of the best wines. David and Janet are fantastic hosts and the premium choice of wines (Quondong Farm, Jones Block, Cracker Barrell) are some of my favourites, Well worth the (small) detour to visit.
We had such a beautiful afternoon at Paxton Wines, and Julie Anne topped off the experience. It felt like a really wholesome experience, with Julie Anne looking after us and educating us about the biodynamic wines. And to top it off, the wines tasted clean and smooth and more than worth the visit. Oh, and you have to taste the almonds!
Thank you Karen for your kind hospitality at our first winery visit in South Australia. We loved Paxton Wine and the beautiful Stone building with sprawling vineyards and a nice deck to look out on the almonds were great too. We love the wine and we’ll be back!
Paxton wines is so beautiful when you get there it's incredible. So many great spots to chill out and drink wine. We had a wine tasting. Fabulous their wines are top notch. The fabulous Mandy served us, she an absolute delight. Such a happy kind lady. Amazing pop up vans with food. A fabulous place to relax. Loved it 😊
We loved the informal atmosphere, live music and great wines. The wines are very approachable and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There's plenty of space on the lawns or in the tasting room. We walked in on a Sunday and were able to get a beautiful spot on the patio. Tastings are a very reasonable $10 per person for 4 wines.

Went to SC Pannell this afternoon after visiting a few others in the area. Reilly was very informative and down to earth in her delivery of the background of each wine. We were set up in front of the fire which suited a winter’s afternoon. The wines were fantastic and we were introduced to each wine in a way that left me learning something of the McLaren vale region. Good times!
Had a fab experience at SC Panell with Rod who was a super engaging and generous host! Delicious wines, beautiful views and great hospitality. Loved learning about the wines and a bit of backstory but not too overbearing with the wine jargon. Definitely recommend
Yesterday, my wife and I visited SC Pannell to celebrate our wedding reception that we had there many years ago. Hosted by Rod, our dedicated and knowledgeable Chilean 🇨🇱 cellar door manager, we enjoyed an hour learning about Stephen’s dedication to the lands that produce his wines. We knew we like, and loved, some of their wines. The tasting experience was a great balance of ‘education/history about Steve’s wines’ and ‘just let us sit and enjoy them’. Highlights 🍷- Nero Diavola 🇨🇱- Rod poured the wine and his passion for them 🏞️ - the view across the Vale to the sea 🌸 - the King Protea was a ripper
Great winery, restrain and cellar door. Really enjoyed the Thai foods followed by a tasting of some local wines with Italian influences. The venue is great, it has a mix of indoor and outdoor. The views are amazing and the staff know their wines. I will be back again.
Our host was great, the wine was great but despite buying 18 bottles we were disappointed to see that we were still charged $45 each for the tasting. We agree with tasting fees generally but this is the first time that they have not been waived with a very significant wine purchase. That is a very poor marketing decision with a very negative impact for recommendations. UPDATE: Had a lovely conversation with one of the owners and we discussed a range of things, including addressing my concerns about tasting fees. We resolved most things wrong with world and balance was restored in our relationship. Happy to now go for 4 stars and I am confident that it will be 5 stars in the future.
Absolutely beautiful tasting experience. Love the wines (as always) but Rod did an excellent job of making it a special and informative experience. The mini grazing platter made the experience even better. Honestly, if you haven’t tried Steve’s wines you’re missing out.
Rod was exceptional the best tasting we did all day and such a stand out!! Can’t wait to come back in a few weeks time and buy some more wines. Never experienced a more accommodating experience. Best cellar door supervisor I’ve ever experienced and how good are these wines. Thansk again Rod and team we’re looking forward to coming back very very soon! 💙
Highly recommend doing a tasting. It's so relaxing sitting out over looking the amazing view. There is a good variety of lovely wines to try and the lady that served us was very knowledgeable.
