As far as Campsites that remind you of school camps, thin plastic coated mattresses, and bunk beds go, this one is definitely a winner. Awesome showers ftw. Great views. Right on the waters edge. Has a tennis/basketball court, area for a fire, outdoor pizza oven, +++.
Great setup with the BBQ area however it is set on the side of a steep hill so ensure you bring your muscles lol The FAQs say that you are allowed to bring your dogs as long as they are on a leash, yet the owner's dogs were not and were walking around the campground during the whole night barking at anything. Noise restrictions were not policed with other campers being very noisy up past midnight or from 5am in the morning... Having said that the place has huge potential!
Went out for a weekend of camping decided on a powered site to keep the kids tablet and our phones powered. The sites were standard size but it was impossible to bet the tent pegs in the ground where we were just kept hitting rocks..they have kayaks to hire and a private boat ramp.. but it was a pretty expensive weekend as costs were quite high.. they also have fire pits to hire if you want a fire.. the Saturday night got quite rowdy with a lot of noise but most campers were respectful of the 10pm curfew
Camping and depended on what ya used to it was glamping for us.. Nothing fancy just comfortable. Hot showers, school camp like cabins, big open spaces, camp fires ,pets allowed.Great for boating and kyaking. The swimming is a but muddy at 1st but lovely water.Great friendly staff. Not you 4star motel but it's a camp ground,Tidy enough for us
Good old fashioned cabin camping. Not flash but just what the doctor ordered. Staff are great and dogs friendly. Can hire kayak/canoe. Peace and quiet for the weekend.
Nice campsite. Diane was very good with booking our large group. The showers have fabulous showerheads with warm water always. It is a bit dated but it was relatively clean whenever we went. There is ample space and trees and close to Reynolds Creek and Wyaralong dam for some watercraft when Moogerah is low. Games room and tennis court/basketball court was also bonus for our kids. Ample firepits available. Stunning virws and sunset. Flat rate per person makes the fee for kids a bit steep. The campsite is ideal for large groups and it is a bonus that dogs are allowed.
Our family hosted our 2023 Sepelini Fonoti Family Reunion at Camp Moogerah. The drive was beautiful (make sure ur map takes you through ipswich freeway- otherwise its gonna give you a merry go round to gold coast than back to ipswich lol) funny much we were the last to leave and first to arrive haha, We stayed for 2nights and it was totes an experience as in there was Praise nd worship, there were tears, there was stories n laughters, shared pain, singing outbursts, mostly understanding the importance of AIGA (family). Due to QLD weather being super hot in November, it really felt like we were in samoa, walking up and down those hills, huffing n puffing to the toilets or back to th kitchen. They had a commercial kitchen we only fished for knifes haha (we made do). The Staff were amazing the two besties THANK YOU for allowing us to enjoy, relax nd be loud 🤣 Due to privacy below are the only vids i can post hahahah
Amazing camp grounds. Amenities cleaned daily and on-site grounds person. Looking forward to coming back again soon.
