Just wanna say wow , it was an great experience throughout the day in Om Beach which makes me tried and fresh . All the beach was very superb and nice. The trekking is so super you can see many scenes from many movies here . Everyone will enjoy here
Had lot of fun with friends, done tracking on mountain leads to multiple beaches, had good experience near beaches, played volleyball and other games and at the end relaxing view of beautiful Sunset. It was like mini Goa with less crowd. I went in February during Valentine.
A Peaceful Slice of Paradise – OM Beach, Gokarna 🌊✨ We recently visited Om Beach, and it was such an amazing experience! The beach truly lives up to the hype — peaceful, scenic, and shaped beautifully like the sacred “Om” symbol. The vibe here is calm yet vibrant, making it a perfect mix for both relaxation and fun. We started our day with a small trek along the cliffs that connect Om Beach to nearby beaches — the views from the top were absolutely stunning! You can spot movie-like scenery all around. Later, we just chilled by the shore, played some beach games like volleyball and frisbee, and ended the day watching a breathtaking sunset over the Arabian Sea — easily one of the best sunsets I’ve seen. 🌅 The beach is clean and less crowded, with a few small shops and shacks offering snacks, lemon soda, and local food. The whole area feels like a mini Goa but quieter, making it great for those who prefer a more peaceful atmosphere. A few quick tips: • No water sports here, so it’s more about peace than thrill. • Trekking shoes or slippers with grip help if you explore nearby spots. • Visit during early morning or evening for the best light and fewer people. Om Beach is not just another beach — it’s a place to soak in nature, unwind with friends, and reconnect with yourself. Whether you want to trek, chill, or just watch the sun melt into the sea, this place will leave you refreshed and smiling. 💙
A wonderful beach for families to enjoy some fun times here. The entrance has a bit of stairs to walk down which can be cumbersome when exiting when you have to climb those same stairs, especially with the sun shining. All in all a beautiful beach. Do visit to experience it yourself.
The most lively beach in Gokarna. The boating from there was top notch. Also the walk to the end of beach along with slight drizzle was amazing. Highly recommended.
It is probably the best beach in Gokarna. There are 5-6 total beaches there which can be accessed both through the roads or hiking the hills. Have been to this place twice and it feels really good to be there. Car parking is an issue there as the number of visitors are gradually increasing in Gokarna. Do visit Mahabaleshwar temple whenever you go there.
I went both at night and in the morning, it was a beautiful beach. Wasn't very crowded the time I went. I definitely liked it a lot.
Better then Gokarna main Beach... Visited in morning with less crowd enjoyed very well... Good for photography. Water and beer bottles were thrown everywhere... Beach is surrounded by trees...

A beautiful beach in Gokarna, beach side shack and lodges are there. You have to walk down some 100 steps from parking. Take a walk on beach and experience beauty , only black spot on beauty in this part is pre wedding shoot that are permitted.that should be stopped immediately.
Very unhygienic beach… don’t visit this place
It is such a beautiful stretch that sets the tone before you even reach the beach. The road is lined with greenery on both sides, with small cafes and local shops adding a cozy vibe. Walking or riding down this road feels peaceful and scenic, especially as you catch glimpses of the sea at the end. It’s well connected, easy to navigate, and gives you that relaxed, holiday feeling right away. A perfect prelude to the calm and charm of Kudle Beach itself!
Awesome place. Less crowded in weekdays. Very relaxing place
Great beach not much people come here nice place to chill you can also do different types of water sports here
I just loved the beach, this was the most beautiful beach I've been to in India. They have water sports, shacks for drinks, stay cations and lot more on the beach. You can go here with friends or family it works both ways.

One of the best beaches in Mangalore, it is always under the supervision of life guards. Ample parking space available, the beach has street food stalls and also a beach resort and bar Overall loved the place
Panambur Beach — a really nice beach, though it gets quite crowded in the evenings. The best time to visit is early in the morning to truly enjoy the vibe. When we went, it started raining, and the dramatic visuals of nature were both stunning and a bit scary to witness.
Located some 12 km from the city centre, situated quite inside from the main road, this beach doesn’t come close to the fame it has. It’s a dirty, badly maintained and just one-time visit type of beach. Quite spacious and good scope to develop it as a model- sea beach, Government apathy and lackadaisical attitude towards any tourism places not just beaches have made such a wonderful location in a just one cheap and third grade beach. I don’t recommend. But yes, it does have some extra activities to for enjoyment.
One of clean and decent beach… nice to spent time here but beach is closed by 7.30 pm… water sports also available here
A little crowded, some water activities and beach side activities for both children and adults are available. Plenty of street food options are available. Overall nice place to spend some time with family.
Good beach in outskirts of mangalore it was not that clean due to lot of tourist also shit of various animals which is bit annoying You get to see beautiful sunset in the beach
Nice place to chill. I went with my colleague early in the morning. We enjoyed a lot, and the view was peaceful and beautiful.🥰

It was such a delight to visit this beach. The water access was closed as we were visiting at the heels of the monsoon but the sand was clean and the sunset was beautiful. The blue flag beach project infra created under the smart City - was one of its kind that I have seen in India and the civic amenities offered were really good. They recently launched and it would make this beach the 13th blue certified beach in India. The atmosphere was quite lively while maintaining the serenity of the place
You can feel the might of the great sea here. Amazing. Mind blowing. The beach is enclosed in both sides sadly, and even in the front due to it being monsoon so not much to do but sit and stare. If you are lucky you can even spot a few peacocks. Note: They charge you Rs. 100 per 1.5 hours for the umbrella chairs, the non-umbrella benches are free.
🌊🐚Perfect for a beach picnic, you can swim too! 🏊‍♂️ Although some parts of the bech are polluted, you still have plenty to see and roam around. Theres shade too! 🏝️ The beach tree park is lame, you need to pay for the beach there just to walk 100 meters. no worth it. 👎 instead, enjoy the natural beach 🤭💖 There's horse and camel riding too!! 🏇 the guys are respectful and kind. ❤️ You'll have a good time here. dont forget your summer caps tho! 🧢👕🏞️😉
Very crystal clear, clean and neat beach of South. Beautifully manage by local people and well maintained. This beach itself is fantastic. Overall I found it was relaxing and beautiful escape, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful beach experience.
Tannirbhavi Beach in Mangalore is a hidden gem for anyone looking for peace away from the hustle of the city. The shoreline is wide, clean, and far less commercialized than most popular beaches, making it perfect for long walks, sunsets, or simply sitting by the waves. The sea breeze here feels refreshing, and the golden hour views are absolutely worth the visit. What I loved most is the calm and uncrowded vibe—you can actually hear the sound of the waves without constant noise around. However, since there aren’t too many shops or eateries nearby, it’s better to carry your own snacks and water. Also, swimming can be tricky because of the strong currents. Overall, Tannirbhavi Beach is a beautiful spot to unwind, capture stunning pictures, and experience coastal Karnataka in its raw, natural form. 🌊✨
Lived up to the expectations of a Blue Flag award. To get here, you take a short ferry ride from near Sultan Bathery across the Gurpur river, followed by a quick 400-meter walk. The month I was here (July), the tides were high and barriers along the shore kept us from entering the waters. Such a beautiful spot to spend time at. There are mini cafes at the entrance where you can grab a quick bite during your visit. Sorry I don’t have the best pictures!
Tannirbhavi Beach which is a blue flag beach awarded by Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), India for that meet high standards in water quality, environmental management, safety, and sustainable tourism. Essentially, it signifies a beach that is clean, well-managed, and environmentally responsible. The beach was very gorgeous, neat and I really fall in love with the beach. Since its rainy season and lot of high tides around in Arabian sea, Beach management asked visitors not to enter into the sea and they put barricades around the sea. Worth visiting.
A Hidden Gem – Thanneer Bhavi Beach, Mangalore Thanneer Bhavi Beach is truly one of Mangalore’s hidden treasures. Just a 30-minute drive from the heart of the city, this beach offers peace, beauty, and a deep sense of calm. What surprised us the most was that we were the only people there! It felt like a private beach. The place is clean, well-maintained, and full of natural beauty. The sand is soft, and there are so many beautiful sea shells—kids will love collecting them. The colours of the sky during sunset were just magical. The photos and videos we took don’t even do justice to how stunning it looked in person. Historically, Thanneer Bhavi has been known as a peaceful riverside spot, and over time, it became a calm coastal beach visited mostly by locals. Unlike the more popular beaches, this one is quiet and serene—perfect for those who want to enjoy nature without the crowd. If you’re visiting Mangalore and want to experience the raw beauty of the sea, Thanneer Bhavi Beach is a must-visit. You’ll come back feeling refreshed and connected to nature.

🌟 Kadri Shree Manjunatha Temple, Mangaluru is a serene and spiritually uplifting destination that beautifully blends history, architecture, and divinity 🕉️. Located atop a small hill, the temple welcomes visitors with ancient stone steps, lush greenery 🌿, and an atmosphere filled with peace and devotion. From the moment you arrive, the scent of incense sticks 🌸, the sound of temple bells 🔔, and chants echoing in the background 🎶 create a deeply calming aura. The main deity, Lord Manjunatha (a form of Lord Shiva), sits in a yogic posture and is made of exquisite bronze, considered one of the oldest idols in South India 🛕. The powerful expression of the idol is enough to move any devotee. Apart from the main sanctum, you will find shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Goddess Durga, Lord Subramanya, and the Navagrahas 🌟 — each idol carved beautifully with divine energy. Outside the sanctum, there's a sacred pond called Pushkarini, where many devotees take a holy dip before entering the temple 💧. The water feels cool and pure, adding to the spiritual atmosphere. Despite being crowded, the temple is incredibly well maintained. Clean surroundings, proper footwear counters 👣, and ample water facilities 🚰 make it easy for everyone to enjoy the visit, including senior citizens 👵👴. One of the highlights is attending the mangal aarti 💥. The energy during the rituals is mesmerizing — the sound of conches 🐚, rhythmic bells 🔔, and Vedic chants 📿 elevate the whole experience to something truly spiritual. You can also find peaceful corners to sit, meditate 🧘, or simply absorb the divine energy around you. A fun part of the visit is the friendly monkeys 🐒 roaming around the temple. They’re playful and often entertaining, but it's smart to be cautious with food or offerings 🍌. Their presence adds a unique charm to the overall experience. 📸 For photography lovers, this temple is a visual delight. From the reddish stone walls and golden temple top shining in the sunlight 🌄 to the intricate carvings and brass lamps inside, every angle offers a perfect shot. Morning and evening are the best times for photos. Each corridor and pillar tells a story of devotion, history, and craftsmanship 🛕✨. Outside the temple, you’ll find stalls offering prasadam and tasty local snacks like vadas, banana chips 🍌, and coconut water 🥥. The temple’s own prasadam was simple yet fulfilling — something that touches both the stomach and the soul 💖. 👍 Cleanliness was top-notch. Volunteers and temple authorities deserve appreciation for maintaining such a busy place with such discipline 🌿. There are hand wash points, clean restrooms 🚽, and seating areas too. Overall, Kadri Shree Manjunatha Temple is a must-visit for anyone in or around Mangaluru — whether you are a spiritual seeker, history lover, or cultural explorer 📚. The divine vibes, the architectural marvel, and the overall peaceful experience make it one of the most memorable temples I have ever visited 🕉️💫.
Kadri Manjunatha Temple – Timeless Spirituality Amid Nature’s Grace : The main deity is Lord Manjunatha (Shiva), enshrined in an ancient stone sanctum with an impressive eight-foot bronze idol. Among its treasures is the Lokeshwara idol, one of South India’s oldest and finest bronze images. Sub-shrines for Durga, Subramanya (Ayyappa), and Ganapati add to its spiritual charm. Temple Timings (may vary on festival days) Morning: 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM Evening: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Sacred Waters & Gomukh Ganapati A highlight is the Gomukh Ganapati, where pure spring water flows naturally from a cow-shaped spout (gomukh) all year round. This crystal-clear water—used for abhishekam of the Shiva Linga and collected by devotees like sacred Ganges water—is believed to cleanse both body and soul. It also feeds the seven holy ponds (Kundas) and the shrines of Lord Manjunatha’s divine siblings. Shani Pooja – A Special Offering The Shani Pooja, dedicated to Lord Shani (Saturn), draws devotees seeking relief from Saturn’s malefic effects and blessings of balance and discipline. The solemn chants and atmosphere bring a deep sense of calm. Rituals & Festivals:- Daily worship fills the air with Vedic hymns and the fragrance of camphor. Kadri Jatre (temple fair): usually in January around Makara Sankranti, with grand processions and cultural programs. Kadri Kambala (buffalo race): typically held during the winter Kambala season (Nov–Feb, depending on their lunar calender) in the paddy fields near the temple. Whether we visit as a pilgrim, a history lover, or a traveler seeking peace, the experience stays with us long after we leave the temple.
Very beautiful and one of the most popular Lord Shiva temples in manglore.🙏🏻 The place is really calm, quiet and peaceful . Morning times are the best to visit the temple to experience the calmness. Right from entering the gate of temple we feel as though we have stepped into a place surrounded by nature 🌿 and enchanted calmness. Here Lord Ganesha , Goddess Parvati , Lord Ayyappa and few other deities are also worshipped. This temple has lots of levels At the ground floor you can see the main deities which I mentioned above. When you climb stairs to firt floor you will reach a place with a big rectangle water tank divided into amall square shaped tanks. There are folklore legends that these water tanks hold medicinal values and taking a dip in these water tanks cure many diseases. The water in these tanks is filled by the great Kaashi Bhagirathi River. It flows out through an opening under Lord Ganesha temple. People can drink that theertham from there as well fill bottle to carry the theertham home. This same theertham can be filled in small brass vessels near to a stairs and we can do jal archana by our own hands to Lord Shiva which have to again climb few stairs to reach the Shiva lingam.🙏🏻 There is a big statue of Lord Hanuman if you climb little more further. The view from here is mesmerizing. There are a lot of steps to go up and down. So if you are planning to visit only the main deities then it's at the ground floor which you can reach by climbing only a few steps. But rest all the other areas have a lot of climbing to do. The experience was really awesome with the blend of nature and the place really keeps attracting me back.🙏🏻😊 Must visit temple 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Kadri Manjunatha Temple, nestled in the heart of Mangaluru, is one of the oldest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Believed to date back to the 11th century, its architecture bears the imprint of regional dynasties and offers a glimpse into the social, cultural, and religious life of the time. Over the centuries, the temple evolved into a vibrant center for community gatherings, extending its role beyond spiritual worship. The temple complex is enriched by natural springs, laterite caves, and sacred water tanks. At the rear, an elevated spring known as Gomukha emerges from the hillside. Local belief holds that its waters originate from the Bhageerathi River in Kashi, earning it the revered name Kashi Bhageerathi Theertha. From Gomukha, the water flows into nine adjacent ponds of varying sizes, each adding to the temple’s serene and mystical ambiance.
Kadri Manjunath temple also known as Kadri Manjunatha temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva in Mangalore, Karnataka, is one of the oldest Shiva temples. Hence, this historic temple is one of the must-visit temples in Kadri, Mangalore, for devotees of Lord Shiva. As per Kadri Manjunath temple history, the temple is really old as it was built in the 10th or 11th century and was transformed into a stone structure in the 14th century. Hindu and Buddhist histories intertwine with the temple. People practised Buddhism until the 10th century CE. The Nath cult was a mix of Hindu and Buddhist traditions and saw a decline, after which the Buddhist temples were converted into Hindu places of worship. Furthermore, as per the words of poet and writer Govinda Pai, ‘Manjunatha’ refers to Lord Shiva and ‘Kadri’ is a part of Kadri Vihara, a Buddhist monastery belonging to the Vajrayana cult. Kadri Manjunath temple has references in mythology related to Parashurama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. After slaying the Kshatriyas, Parashurama prayed and appealed to Lord Shiva for a place to live. Lord Shiva directed him to seek shelter in a new place called the Kadrivana. Paying heed to the Lord’s words, Parashurama, after an immense struggle with the ocean king, secured the place that he occupied near the Kadri hills to set up the Kadrivana for Lord Manjunatha. Consequently, the place became the abode of Lord Manjunatha, where devotees now flock to the place for the Lord’s blessings. Kadri hills are also mentioned in the “Bharadwaja Samhita,” a Sanskrit text. Hence, Kadri was famous for being the abode of Lord Manjunatha (Lord Shiva) in ancient times. The presiding deity of Kadri Manjunath temple is Lord Manjunatheshwara, worshipped as a Shiva Linga. There are also shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Durga in the temple. Furthermore, there are beautiful bronze idols of Lokeshwar, Avalokiteshwar, Veda Vyasa, Machendranath, Gorakanath, Shringinath, Buddha etc in the temple. The Lokeshwar idol is one of the oldest bronze idols in India. Also, the Saptha Mantras became the Saptha Theerthas or the seven ponds. Gomukha, a natural spring, is found in an elevated location near the temple. According to popular belief, the water from the spring is that of River Bhageerathi in Kashi; hence, it acquired the name Kashi Bhageerathi Theertha. Before entering the temple, people dip in the nine ponds, which contain water from the natural spring. There is also a Shiva Linga further up, where people fill vessels with water from the natural spring and perform Abhishekam with their own hands. There is also a shrine dedicated to Shani Dev. The annual festival of Jathra Mahothsava, held for nine days during January, begins on the Makara Sankranti. It is celebrated with pomp and religious fervour. The distance from Mangalore to Kadri Manjunath temple is 5.3 KM, and Kadri Manjunatha temple is about 346 KM from Bangalore. By Air Mangalore airport is the nearest airport, which is about 12.4 KM from Kadri. From there, you can hire a cab to the Kadri Manjunatha temple. By Train Mangalore Railway Station is the nearest station to Kadri, which is about 3.5 km away. From there, one can take a cab to the Kadri Manjunath temple. Mangalore Railway Station is well connected to all the southern states via rail. By Road Mangalore is well connected to the other major cities by road. Numerous KSRTC buses ply in the area, making it convenient for tourists. Tourists can also hire a cab to reach the Kadri Manjunatha temple. To conclude, the Kadri Manjunatha temple is a must-visit for devotees of Lord Shiva.
This is a must visit temple if you are in the vicinity of Mangalore. It dates all the way back to the 10th-11th centuries. There is a fresh water spring the source of which is supposedly the Bhagirathi river in Kashi, hence considered very holy. There are also caves that date back to 4-6th century AD. They are purported to be visited by the Pandavas.
Visiting the Temple in the morning is such a calming experience. The cool breeze, the faint sound of temple bells, and the early sunlight just sets a peaceful tone for the day. The place feels really pure and quiet at that hour, away from the usual crowd. The architecture beautifully blends old-world charm with spiritual energy. There are also smaller shrines around, and the natural springs near the temple are believed to have holy water. The surroundings, the small pond, and the greenery around the hill just add to the charm. One of the best parts is pouring water over the Shivling. There’s something very soothing about it.
One of best temples of Mangaluru. A must visit and enjoy the yummy anna prasadam during the lunch. I was amazed to see many school and college kids in their uniform at the lunch to enjoy the free and tasty food they provide everyday to the devotees. Please note wear some kind of socks during summer as it will be gruesomely difficult to walk on the stone floor in hot weather.

Best spot to visit on weekends fr the party mode mainly during October to April time. Can visit on weekdays for those who want to maintain some privacy and peace. Cool & calm breeze of the sea drives ur mind to stabilize.
Gokarna Beach is a serene and scenic destination, perfect for those who love peace and natural beauty. The golden sand, clear waves, and laid-back atmosphere make it an ideal escape from the rush of city life. Unlike crowded tourist spots, it has a calm charm where you can simply relax, take long walks, or enjoy the sunset. A must-visit for beach lovers seeking tranquility.”
If you want to enjoy bathing in sea water, this will be the best option in India, even better than Goa and Puri sea beach. water is very clear and not so deep ideal for people of all age. For only sight seeing, better go to Om beach. But water will be dirty there.
Gokarna Main Beach is a peaceful and beautiful spot, especially in the mornings when it’s not crowded. The water is clean and the weather pleasant, making it a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Perfect for those looking for a quiet beach experience with good vibes and fewer tourists.
1) Long beach where you find some crowd. 2) Though the beach is not super clean, it is well maintained as per my opinion. 3) One can see 4 to 5 waves coming up one on another at this beach in morning hours. 4) Ample 4 wheeler parking is available. But still you may find difficulty in finding place to park your vehicle. 5) Approach roads are very narrow and you may have to drive through thousands of people walking on these narrow roads.
It was a beautiful beach yes. But out of the 3 beaches I visited (Om, Kudle and Main) I will prefer the other two over this. We started the trek towards Kudle beach from here.
It is a very clean & long beach. There is a little crowd at the entry point however if one ventures further in, the beach is peaceful and secluded. The trafic is also well managed by the local Police.
We visited on weekend. This place was not crowded at that time in Oct end. We did trek in the beach but don’t do trekking in the evening after 5 pm because at that time waves are so high. And u cannot go from one beach to another by trekking.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Subramanya, worshipped here in connection with serpents (Naga devatas). The darshan was smooth and well-organized. Despite the number of visitors, the queue moved steadily, and the priests conducted the rituals sincerely. I was able to feel a strong spiritual presence inside the sanctum. I also appreciated the temple's cleanliness and orderliness, especially considering how many people visit daily. The architecture is traditional and adds to the sacred feel. The weather during my visit was rainy,. I recommend carrying an umbrella or raincoat if you're visiting during the monsoon season, as showers are quite common. My visit to Kukke Subramanya Temple was memorable and spiritually uplifting. It’s a must-visit for anyone seeking divine blessings, especially those with a connection to serpent-related doshas or those simply looking for peace amidst nature and devotion. Note: If your planning on serpent dosha puja you have to book the puja in their website before visit it is a two daya puja
It was nice visit to this spiritual place. Went along with my friends. This place has very different vibe all together. Mighty Kumar Parvat is being visible. Went on Saturday evening had our prasad which took around 1 hour including wait & taking of prasad. Faced issues while getting guest house of Temple trust (book in advance) availability on weekends or festive season will be a issue. Took hotel outside. Darshan: went at temple at around 0600hrs and waited in a que till 0700hrs. Darshan started at 0700hrs & by 0740hrs we were out. Cons: Temple committe should work ok Maintaining the cleanliness of prasad house Overall experience was nice.
I recently had the opportunity to visit Kukke Subramanya Temple, one of the most divine and scenic temples located in the lap of the Western Ghats. The temple is beautifully built in traditional South Indian architectural style, with intricate wooden carvings and a peaceful ambiance. The main deity here is Lord Subramanya (Kartikeya), worshipped as the protector from serpent doshas. You can also have darshan of Vasuki, the serpent god, and other shrines like Adi Subramanya, Ganapati, and Uma Maheshwara within the temple premises. - The darshan queue is well-managed, on weekdays it takes about 30–60 minutes, while on weekends and special days it may take longer. - There are options for free darshan as well as special darshan tickets (₹50–₹200) for quicker Darsan. - The Anna Prasada (free meal) served by the temple is simple, delicious, and very well organized. - Timings: Generally, darshan is available from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM and again from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM. - Ample parking space is available near the temple at a reasonable charge. - Numerous shops selling pooja items, prasadam, and local snacks are available right outside. - Several lodges and restaurants nearby offer decent accommodation and food options. Overall, Kukke Subramanya Temple is a spiritually uplifting and peaceful destination worth visiting at least once in a lifetime.
I’m from Hubballi, and while looking back at some old memories from 2022, I just couldn’t resist sharing my experience of visiting the beautiful Kukke Shri Subrahmanya Temple. While scrolling through my gallery today (3 November 2025), I came across some old photos from my trip to Kukke Shri Subrahmanya Temple, and it instantly brought back a wave of peaceful memories. Seeing those pictures made me feel like reliving that beautiful journey again, and I thought it’s the right time to share my experience here. I and my family had visited this temple around 12 June 2022, and it was truly one of our most memorable trips. The journey was filled with lush greenery, winding roads, and misty hills that created a calm and refreshing atmosphere even before reaching the temple. The temple’s traditional architecture looked divine, and though it was quite crowded that day, the spiritual energy and positive vibe were truly unmatched. The sound of bells, chants, and the fragrance of incense made the whole experience unforgettable. After our darshan, we also explored some nearby scenic and historical places, which made the trip even more special. The natural beauty, flowing streams, and peaceful surroundings added a perfect balance of spirituality and serenity to our visit. The temple and its surroundings were clean and well maintained, and the entire area felt calm and family-friendly. Looking back now, I’m really glad I captured those moments, sometimes old photos remind us how meaningful those journeys were and how they still make us smile years later. Truly a place worth visiting with family for the blessings, the peace, and the timeless charm it holds. Thinking if I could visit here again someday… #kukkeshrisubrahmanyatemple #karnatakaheritage #nammakarnataka 💛❤️

Completed in 1885, this grand Christian chapel features many notable frescos by an Italian artist.
Slide 1 of 8
The large Jesuit complex dedicated to St Aloysius Gonzaga (1568-91) comprises a school, college and several other buildings, among which one of the more prominent ones from the point of view of tourism is the St Aloysius Chapel. This pale blue and white church was built in 1885 under the supervision of Fr. Joseph Willy. Four years later, the Italian Jesuit Brother Antony Moscheni arrived in Mangalore and painted the interiors of the chapel. From the outside, this church doesn't look especially impressive, but we were completely bowled over by what we saw inside - my husband, in fact, was comparing this to the Sistine Chapel! Moscheni, of course, is no Michelangelo, but the intricacy and the scale of the decoration are really very similar. Almost every square inch of the interiors - ceiling, walls, everything - is covered with detailed paintings of the life of Christ; the parables, verses from the Bible, the stations of the cross, and the life of St Aloysius. No photography is allowed inside the chapel, therefore there are no pictures with my review, but if you like Christian art, do not miss this.
✨ A Timeless Treasure on Lighthouse Hill – My Experience at St Aloysius Chapel, Mangaluru Nestled atop the serene Lighthouse Hill, the St Aloysius Chapel is not just a place of worship—it’s a canvas of devotion, history, and breathtaking artistry. Stepping through its regal entrance, I felt as though I had crossed into a sacred gallery where every wall whispered stories of faith and craftsmanship. 🎨 Art That Speaks to the Soul The interiors are a visual symphony. Painted by Italian Jesuit Antonio Moscheni in the late 19th century, the frescoes cover nearly every inch of the chapel—walls, ceilings, arches—with scenes from the life of Christ and St Aloysius Gonzaga. The detail is astonishing, and the colors, though aged, still glow with reverence. 🕊️ Atmosphere of Peace and Awe Despite being in the heart of Mangaluru, the chapel exudes a quietude that’s rare. The air inside feels hushed, as if the paintings themselves demand silence. Photography is not allowed, which only deepens the sense of sacredness and encourages you to be fully present. 🏛️ A Museum Worth Exploring Adjacent to the chapel is a small museum that’s a hidden gem. It houses centuries-old coins, stamps, and artifacts contributed by Jesuit priests over generations. It’s compact but rich in stories, and you can explore it in under an hour. 👣 A Personal Reflection If you’re in Mangaluru and have an eye for detail, a heart for history, or simply a love for places that stir the soul, St Aloysius Chapel is a must-visit. It’s not just a landmark—it’s an experience that lingers.
Beautiful chapel with brilliant frescoes. The blue and white exterior is most mesmerising. Photography inside is not permitted which is good. This encourages visitors to spend few moments in silence and pray with devotion, a value grossly missing in todays social media savvy times. Good luck to the management team in maintaining the sanctity of this revered space.
Can’t praise the chapel adequately. Our tour driver recommended a visit & since we were ahead of schedule, we dropped in with no notion of what to expect. The building is beautiful, but the exquisite frescos covering the walls & ceiling were the high point. We have travelled all over the world & seen some of the best frescoes and I’d say these compare with the best. The additional charm is that no one is rushing you & the visit is free. However, I would recommend a donation for upkeep of the frescoes
The collection of the Jesuits from many centuries at the Aloysium is a must see when you travel to Mangalore. They have a variety of displays from the images I've shared like the whale skeleton and tortoise shells. Additionally there is a huge stamp & coin collection, sea shells, vintage camera from many decades and a much more. Make sure to check the timings since it is open daily and closed for lunch between 1-2pm
A beautiful Chapel with beautiful paintings. Highly recommend to visit this church.
This chapel has a special place it my heart. Sunday mass timings 6:30 am (multilingual).
This Chapel has exquisite paintings on the walls, pillars , roof & every conceivable place, depicting scenes from Life of Jesus & other saints. It has lovely stained glass windows too. As photography is not allowed, I can't post any. This is a must visit place in Mangalore.

I recently visited the Mahabaleshwar Temple in Gokarna, and it was a deeply spiritual and soul-touching experience. This temple is not only a place of worship but also a site of immense historical and cultural significance. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is considered as sacred as Kashi, and many devotees call it the “Dakshin Kashi”. 🛕 Spiritual Significance & History: The temple has a rich and ancient history, believed to be over 1,500 years old. It is famous for housing the Atma Linga, which, according to legend, was given to Ravana by Lord Shiva. The story and faith associated with this temple make it one of the most important pilgrimage sites in South India. The intricate stone carvings and the timeless architecture reflect its heritage beautifully. ✨ Darshan Experience: Darshan here feels very divine and powerful. The temple priests are well-organized, and even though there are usually crowds of devotees, the queue system is managed well. Standing inside the sanctum and having a glimpse of Lord Shiva’s Atma Linga is truly an unforgettable and spiritual moment. 🌿 Temple Atmosphere & Surroundings: The temple is located close to the beautiful Gokarna beach, which adds to its peaceful atmosphere. The surrounding lanes are filled with small shops selling flowers, prasad, and traditional items. The entire town has a very spiritual and traditional feel, making the visit even more memorable. 📍 Facilities & Accessibility: The temple is well-maintained, and cleanliness is given attention. Basic facilities like drinking water and footwear stands are available. It is easily accessible from the main town, and the local people are very helpful and welcoming. 🙏 Overall: The Mahabaleshwar Temple in Gokarna is not just a temple but an experience of devotion, history, and culture. If you are visiting Gokarna, this place is a must-visit for spiritual seekers as well as those interested in India’s rich ancient heritage. Attending aarti or visiting during festivals makes the experience even more divine.
I recently visited the Gokarna Sri Mahabaleshwar Temple, and it was a deeply spiritual and memorable experience. This ancient temple, located right along the coastline of the Arabian Sea, is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered one of the holiest places in South India. The temple houses the Atmalinga, which is believed to be as powerful and sacred as the one in Kashi, earning Gokarna the name “Dakshina Kashi.” The temple architecture is classic south indian style, with beautifully carved stone pillars and a traditional layout that radiates divine energy. The darshan queue is generally smooth, though it can get busy during weekends and festivals. Regular darshan is free, and special poojas or Abhishekas can be booked at the temple office for a nominal fee. - Dress code: Traditional attire is compulsory. men should remove shirt and banyan and wear a dhoti or pancha, and women are expected to wear sarees or salwar suits. - Timings: Usually from 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. - Anna Prasada is offered during specific hours near temple. - Shops outside sell pooja items, prasadam, and souvenirs. - Ample parking space is available at Gokarna main beach which is walkable distance from temple. - People generally do the punya snana near beach and visit the temple. - Nearby restaurants and lodges make it convenient for visitors. Overall, Gokarna Mahabaleshwar Temple offers a divine and peaceful atmosphere, a must visit for anyone seeking spiritual connection and inner calm by the sea.
We went to this temple on the Sep 28th 2025. Since it was a weekend it was crowded and there was heavy downpour. The roof needs a renovation and most of the devotees were drenched. Once you are inside, the roofing is good and barely any water is seen leaking. They have a strict dressing policy, please ensure to adhere to it. The queues can stretch long but it's a moving crowd and we got darshan in about 30-40mins. The roads leading to and away from the temple are very narrow, so plan your conveyance accordingly. There are several shops in and around the temple. In monsoon it's best you carry a raincoat(u can get this nearby shop for about 100). Umbrella's won't help you a bit during this season. This temple is a must visit if you are gokarna. Recommended.
I recently visited the temple during dasara and had a great spiritual experience. I was able to do sparsha darshan in the morning, which was very special and peaceful. Though it was a festival weekend, the early morning hours were relatively calm and well managed. The temple atmosphere is divine and the ancient architecture adds to its spiritual charm.
Very well built temple. Carry your own lungi. Men only allowed with lungi bare chested. Female in indian dresses. Avoid weekend and mondays
My visit to Gokarna Temple gave me complete peace of mind. As soon as I entered the temple, I felt calm and relaxed. All negative thoughts disappeared, and I experienced a deep sense of positivity and spiritual energy. The atmosphere is divine, the surroundings are clean, and the overall experience was truly uplifting. I am very happy and grateful for this visit.
This is the one of the oldest temple in Gokarna. The one and only temple where shiva Aamtlinga present.Dhoti is compulsory while visiting the temple. Everyone is allowed to touch the Aamtlinga.Behind this temple there mahaganapti temple where ganpati idol having bump in head due to Ravana hit ganapati as he put the aamtlinga on the earth.Nice temple.

Kateel Durga Parameshwari Temple is one of the most divine and peaceful temples I have visited. Nestled in the middle of the sacred Nandini River, the temple’s location itself creates a serene and spiritual atmosphere. The darshan of Goddess Durga Parameshwari feels truly powerful and uplifting. The temple is well-organized, with neat surroundings and calm vibes that make the visit very pleasant. Annadana (free meals) served here is simple yet delicious, and the hospitality of the temple staff adds to the positive experience. Whether for spirituality, tradition, or simply to experience the cultural richness of Tulunadu, Kateel Temple is a must-visit. 🌸🙏

Mangala devi temple is dedicated to Hindu Goddess Sakthi in the form of Mangala devi & the city of Mangalore is named after the presiding deity, Mangala devi. This temple is believed to be built in 9th century by Kundavarman, the most famous king of the Alupa dynasty during the 9th century. We had a great dharshan & blessings at the temple !! Most divine place. Must visit !
I have visited the Adorable Claim Temple many times during my stay in Mangalore. It is a truly divine place. During the Navratri festival, the temple is beautifully decorated, and the Goddess is adorned with different alarakaras each day, which look absolutely stunning. I recently visited during Navratri, and the light decorations along with the Goddess’s alarakara made it a memorable experience. Though it was a bit crowded, I was blessed with a wonderful darshana. A highly recommended place to visit when you are in Mangalore!
Very famous temple and Very powerful goddess. Its best to visit the temple during early morning and evening, because it's peaceful during that time. But it's irritating at the afternoon, specially during Anna prasada. The management will be so rude that time , they don't allow you to eat peacefully at one place, they will be yelling at you all the time . They behave like the conductor in local bus , they will be keep on saying, don't stand here go there etc . 🙄 The management people specially during the Anna Prasada are the worst . Accept that the temple is great, beautiful goddess, everyone should visit.

Having converted Premaladevi to the Nath sect, Matsyendranath renamed her Mangaladevi] The temple is believed to have been built during the 9th century by Kundavarman, king of the Alupa dynasty and as per another legend, the temple is believed to have been built by Parashurama, one of the ten avatars of Hindu god Vishnu and later expanded by Kundavarman. The temple has a two storeyed gopura or gateway tower, with the upper storey having wooden trails covering the Kottupura. Daily Pooja at 6am morning, 1pm in the afternoon and evening Pooja at 8.40pm everyday except on Friday (9pm) Temple has ample space for parking in front of temple The darshan was smooth and well-managed, and the priests at the temple perform the rituals with devotion. As my in-laws are from Bolar, I start my activities only after visiting Sri Mangaladevi Temple when in Mangalore
The Mangaladevi Temple in Mangalore is a sacred and revered destination. Although there isn’t a designated parking area, we managed to park along the roadside. It is said that during the festive celebrations of Amma, the temple becomes very crowded, so we chose to visit on a quiet evening. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, allowing us to have a pleasant and fulfilling experience.
My visit to the Mangaladevi Temple in Mangalore was truly peaceful. The temple has a quiet charm that makes you slow down and feel present. The goddess is beautifully adorned and the darshan feels calm and uplifting. The temple grounds are clean and well maintained. I went early in the morning, and the atmosphere was especially serene with the sound of chants in the background. Sultan Battery is a decent quick stop for sunset chasers If you’re looking for peaceful evenings by the water with a dash of history, it's worth a visit
Sulthan battery gives user 3 spots to enjoy 1- The Fort , you can climb stairs ,very small port ,good view , no ticket ... Sadly users have scribbled walls with love notes - note : its closed in the night 2- Seatings near water deck sunrise ,sunset or just for calming your soul (after port to the right ) 3- the beach , via boat - which is at the end (In beach u can either enjoy in water ,sitting in rocks/ sand or walkway to beach were u have many number of trees -can rest underneath the shade ) Note : there is eating spot to enjoy quick snack (before climbing the boat to beach ) One of the calmest beach of mangalore
Sultan Battery is a must-visit heritage spot in Mangalore! The structure may be small, but it holds a lot of history. The view of the river and the boats passing by is amazing, especially during sunset. There’s also a small beach nearby. Perfect place to relax and click photos!
Back in the day, this little spot was where everyone came to relax and take in the stunning view of the waters, with the sun setting beautifully over the Arabian Sea. It still carries that same calm charm. You’ll often find a few friendly furry friends here too, wagging their tails like they’ve known you forever. A perfect place to unwind and soak in Mangalore’s quiet beauty.
The town of Mangalore saw many ups and downs and switching between overlords, especially during the 18th century. In 1763, Haider Ali had captured the town and built a dockyard here; five years later the British ousted him, but in 1794 Haider Ali's son Tipu Sultan was able to defeat the British and take back Mangalore. While he was in control of Mangalore, Tipu built a low, squat watch tower here, overlooking the Gurpur River. Guns were mounted here, in what is obviously a defensive fortification, even though it's not very large. It's known as Sultan Battery or Sulthan Batheri. It takes only a couple of minutes to see this battery; you climb some thirty steps or so, and you are there, where there is really nothing much to see except the view of the river beyond. No entrance fees are charged for Sultan Battery.
This place is really beautiful and serene...ferry is available to go to the beach...
My recent visit to Sultan Battery was truly exceptional. The site offers a profound historical experience, complemented by picturesque views. 🏛️ The architecture is remarkably preserved, providing a vivid glimpse into the past. 🤩 I found the atmosphere serene and conducive to reflection. 😌 This location is a definite recommendation for anyone seeking cultural enrichment. ✨
Nice place. River is dirty, needs cleaning in the shore. Lot of garbage around. The tower needs some protection. Ferry service is good. Area is developed now.

A bit far from the city but definitely worth a visit. As we were short of time could visit only zoo, planetarium, traditional house & artisans village. But there is a water park & lake as well for boating. Zoo is a must visit especially for the very exotic birds & snakes. 3d show at the planetarium was awesome. Guthu mane was a beautiful experience but photography isn't allowed inside , you have to pay for it.
Although some services/timings can be made more transparent, the sheer size of the project including the zoo, lake garden, Planetarium, heritage village and house is appreciable..The property is well maintained as well..We couldn't visit the Planetarium as it closes at 2.30 PM which was not informed while booking the tickets..Certainly recommended for a family visit, also it's best to keep aside a whole day to visit each section leisurely..Not sure about food/restaurant facilities as we did not use it
Never thought we had so much option in this area. Science park, arts village, water park, animal kingdom, lake garden, planatorian. Plan atleast 4hours for watching entire area. Spend more time as per the intrest. Buggies available for less physically fit people or for better time management. Making prior visit plan will help. Management can improve on cleanliness, clarity in announcement to make it better place to visit
It was a good experience although it lacked a few animals and some of the coops were empty or were under maintenance at the time we visited. Overall the place would be fun with friends or family. But Cafe inside the zoo was disappointing, with below average food and an overpriced menu.
Buggy cars are there for family.. Well maintained.. Not as big as Mysore zoo
Visited Pilikula Nisargadhama recently. The place has good potential with a natural setting and attractions like the zoo and planetarium, but maintenance is poor.
Really awesome place to spend the day specially for kids at Science Center and Planetarium, the Lake and Gaden are also well maintained , the Zoo was once well kept however now many enclosure looks under maintenance and less of animals are visible. But it's the best place to spend your day with kids , the battery vehicles for movement and all in the zoo , however boogies should be outside each location with easy drop and move rather than call and wait .
Calm quite and we'll maintained place where u can take your family

Decided to go for hike from Belekan to Paradise. The hike was nice and little challenging. But once we reached, it was truly beautiful. Only one shack is there - but would like to remain it in that way. Let it be a paradise - without the crowd destroying it.
A smallish beach that is clean and also less crowded. I understand this beach can be reached by boat or by hiking from nearby beaches. I had hiked it down from the Belekan beach (30 min) which was an amazing experience. From here I walked down to the Half moon beach. The beach has some shops and shacks.
Paradise Beach is a hidden gem, accessible only by trekking from Om Beach to Half Moon Beach and then onwards. The best time to embark on this adventure is during the early morning hours (6:00 am - 9:00 am) or late evening (4:30 pm - 6:00 pm). Don't forget to carry water bottles to stay hydrated. The scenic trek rewards you with breathtaking views and a few quaint cafes along the way. The lush green surroundings and serene atmosphere make it a truly unforgettable experience. A must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers!
Truly a paradise if you can endure the rough trek to the beach from the parking area (which we did). An easier option perhaps is to take a ferry ride from Om beach which is more accessible. They offer a pickup and drop facility and offer half or full day packages with some beach activities like kayaking, deep water swimming etc. thrown in at a reasonable cost.
One of the most unforgettable adventures of my life! Reaching Paradise Beach is not easy, you have to trek 2–3 km through a dense, dark jungle. We went at night with just our torches, singing and motivating ourselves along the way. But the moment we reached, it truly felt like Paradise. We camped on the beach, cooked barbecue, and spent the night under the stars. If you love adventure, this place is a must visit. Not for the faint-hearted, but absolutely worth it!
Beautiful , serene and calm beach...We trekked from om beach to Halfmoon to Paradise..such a superb experience...While on the trek trail it feels we are inside a dense forest no sign of sea around and after that beautiful trek the trail leads us to the beach...Amazing view and Experience.. Some shops are available here for refreshments. Waste management is poor is ,we an see some plastic wastes dumped by the sea in the beach
paradise beach is the most beautiful beach here. you need to trek for almost 20 mins to reach here. photogenic view. mobile networks are present. you can go to half moon beach by trekking.
I would highly recommend doing the trek to reach this place. It’s absolutely worth it, and taking a swim here after the trek is simply refreshing!

Religious pilgrims travel to this serene, 800-year-old temple honoring several Hindu deities.

800 years ago, Dharmasthala was known as Kuduma in Mallarmadi, a then village in South Kanara. Here lived the Jain Chieftain Birmanna Pergade and his wife Ammu Ballalthi in a house called Nelyadi Beedu. Simple, pious and affectionate people, the Pergade family was known for its generosity and hospitality to all. Miraculous The main "miracle" at Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala is the Annadana (free food service), which is believed to be divinely sustained. For centuries, the temple has provided free meals to thousands of devotees daily, with the supply of food never running out, regardless of the number of visitors. Devotees also believe that prayers are answered and that the deity, Lord Manjunatha, grants peace, prosperity, and spiritual strength
Heritage, Spirituality & Timeless Values Dharmasthala, nestled in the peaceful hills of Karnataka, is one of those rare places where devotion, culture, and humanity come together beautifully. The moment you enter the temple town, there is a serene energy — as if the place itself teaches you to slow down, breathe, and feel grateful. The Sri Manjunatha Swamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, stands as a symbol of faith practiced for centuries. What makes Dharmasthala truly unique is its heritage of Deeksha, Dana, and Dharma. The temple is managed by the Jain Heggade family, yet the deity is Shiva — a perfect example of harmony beyond religion. This inclusive tradition itself is a spiritual lesson. The free, wholesome Anna Prasada, served to thousands every day, reflects Dharmasthala’s commitment to service. The volunteers work with so much dedication that you see spirituality not just inside the sanctum, but in every simple act of kindness around the temple. The cultural heritage here is equally rich. The Manjusha Museum preserves centuries of art, vintage cars, and rare collections. The Bahubali statue at Ratnagiri Hill adds a majestic calmness — standing tall, reminding everyone of sacrifice and self-realization. What touched me the most is that Dharmasthala is not just a temple — it’s a living example of how spiritual life and social service can walk hand in hand. From education, health care, community development to preserving ancient traditions, Dharmasthala continues to inspire millions. If you’re seeking peace, blessings, or simply a reminder of goodness in this world, Dharmasthala is a place your heart will always remember.
Located at the foothills of the Western Ghats, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala is surrounded by the lush green, Lord Manjunatha: The chief deity, Manjunatha, is a form of Lord Shiva and is worshiped in the form of a shivalinga. The lingam was brought from the Kadri Manjunath Temple in Mangaluru over 800 years ago, as instructed by the Dharma Daivas. Ammanavaru (Shakti): The goddess Shakti is worshiped in a separate shrine and is sometimes referred to as Sri Ammanavaru. She represents the supreme feminine energy. Annappa Betta (Badinede Betta): This sacred hill, located near the temple complex, is believed to be the abode of the guardian spirit Annappa. Trekking up the hill rewards visitors with panoramic views of the town and the surrounding countryside. The Netravathi River: The holy Netravathi river flows near the temple and is a focal point of the area's natural beauty. Visitors can spend time on its banks, enjoying the tranquil environment, and there is also a barrage on the river where a nature cure hospital is located. The Western Ghats: The entire town is nestled in the foothills of the Western Ghats mountain range. The proximity to this region means the area is rich with forests, rolling hills, and abundant flora and fauna. I recently visited Dharmasthala, and it was a peaceful and divine experience. The temple is well-organized, clean, and beautifully maintained. The atmosphere around the temple is very positive, and the architecture adds to the spiritual feel of the place. The free Anna Prasada (meals) is served with a lot of care, and the food is simple, tasty, and satisfying. Parking and facilities are well arranged, and the entire area feels safe and visitor-friendly. Overall, a must-visit temple for anyone traveling around the region. Note :- Avoid weekends

Dharmastala temple and the city visiting is truly spiritual. Location and the nature of the temple is Incredibly amazing. Despite having huge numbers of devotees visiting this place still being organized so beautifully, everything looks great, pleasant and peaceful !! I love visiting this place all the time. Around the temple other attractions places, like museum, gardening and the Jain temples are popular. Must visit Temple in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka.
