I had the best time with Kuredu Prodivers. Marta, Cami, Ali and Lisa took great care of us! Highly recommend doing the night snorkel at the house reef, we saw loads of black tips and nurse sharks, as well as eagle rays and countless fish. Also loved the Manta search where we saw three Mantas and dolphins from the boat. The diving was lovely also! It’s a bit pricey - but not surprising on a resort island.
This was our 7th visit at Prodivers this year. The family including our daughters @10 and @11 years age, made the PADI OW/AOW certificate at Prodivers Kuredu. They were very friendly and competent all the time over the years; it was always a pleasure to dive with them. Great Team! They find the common voice with the kids too! :) The dive sites are interesting and diverse here in Lhaviyani. You can find a Wreck already on the house reef! The green turtle “density” is very high around Kuredu, but you can see rays, sharks, eels, octopuses and many other undersee creatures. Thank you Tina, Fabian, Jürgen, Thasleem! And also for the other team members from the past like Noreen or Sawaadh. We are still planning to return! Kind Regards, Family Mihalszki
Prodivers at Kuredu are first class. Lisi is just amazing, she taught me so much in our dives together. The whole team are fantastic. For new divers or experienced this is a great dive center. The house reef is beautiful with fantastic marine life to see as well as a sunken ship. I highly recommend Prodivers at Kuredu
We just spent a week on Kuredu and logged 16 dives with the Prodivers team. The boat crew was extremely helpful and supportive during each of the dives. The Prodivers team including Fabi, Thasleem and James were super knowledgeable and made every effort to get the most out of each of our dives. The dive shop was even able to accommodate my request for 15L tanks, which isn’t always the case at resort dive centers. I’d highly recommend the entire Prodivers operation and diving off of Kuredu, the Kuredu Express and the Manta Ray dives are not to be missed.
Best dive center we had so far. Very well organized, very friendly and professional staff. They even have a doctor and pressure chamber on the site in case something goes wrong which is unlikely. The diving spots were magnificent, a great variety of dives (drift dive, reef dive, manta spot, house reef, night dive with sharks,...). Did great briefings!
My instructor Anna was absolutely amazing, after initially panicking she took time to reassure me and help me overcome my fear to stay under the water. She was so calm and professional throughout. Thank you so much for helping me achieve my first dive! We saw 4 turtles and so many fish, it was unbelievable!
PADI diving course. Great place to learn to dive. Excellent instructor, friendly and informative. House reef great and just a short walk away. Turtles, sharks, rays and octopus all easy to find.
Went here with my partner and we took the first scuba diving lesson with Chris which was amazing! They have great teachers there. Equipment is in included. Very nice services and very friendly! Recommended! Around 110$ for the first lesson. Promotions start from 3 dives up.

Fishermen lay out their catches of tuna & other fish on the tiled floor of this open marketplace.
Slide 1 of 8
Came here to check out their local fish harvested. Plenty of tunas everywhere. Worth checking it out as a tourist. Nearby many attractions such a sting ray watching by the edge of the dock, visit their dry market across the road.
There is a very large selection of fish for sale here. The fisherman bring the fish they catch and sell it at this market. The prices can vary depending on many factors. The fishes are relatively clean, and you can pay additional for them to cut the fish for you. Hygenic standards could be questioned thought. And the floor is slippery, so be warned. But, it's the best place to get fish in Malé.
Amazing place — the Fish Market in Malé is a must-see! It’s full of energy, local life, and fresh catches straight from the ocean. You can watch fishermen bringing in huge tuna, see how they clean and prepare the fish, and feel the real atmosphere of the Maldives beyond the beaches. It’s authentic, busy, and fascinating — a great experience for anyone visiting Malé.
The Male Fish Market is an amazing place to visit. You can watch vendors expertly handle large tuna with impressive skill. Tourists can easily purchase a variety of dried fish products using USD. Fish scraps are tossed into the water, attracting stingrays that glide around the pier—a fascinating sight. Right next to it is a vibrant vegetable market, filled with extraordinary fruits and vegetables. The local vendors are friendly, honest, and offer goods at very reasonable prices. Overall, it’s a lively and memorable
The best fish market that I have ever seen in my life. The fishes are huge in size. They are fresh as ever. The market is bustling with activity. There are expert fishermen who keep on clean the fish with precision and dexterity. You can find different kinds of reef fish. Some are pink and blue in colour. The fish market is a busy place with a lot of customers. It is clean and well maintained. Here you will be amazed at the size of the fish 🐠. It is a major tourist attraction if you happen to visit Male. I would definitely recommend visiting this place.
Always great to go back to the fiah market in Male to see yellow fin tunas and many more fish....
Absolutely True Maldivian traditional market that you should visit to know them personally. It's local and wet market so expected wet, smelly, and crowded. This is consider the place that you may enjoy the locals. Most of them speak English very well and tourist are welcome and you won't had any problem at all. They welcomes you nicely and do share what they have to offer or to show you what is Maldivian is all about. Walking distance from main jetty connected airport and the city. Easy walk tour in this place. Get your local guide to know more about it. There's the stingray point next to it that you may enjoy extraordinary view of these creatures. Cheap coconut drinks too compared with any island that you have visited. Great to do your here after your few days in isolated and super calm island stay. Worth visit.

I did my open water in Maafushi Dive it was the BEST! I hardly recommend, all the staff were super kind and professional, especially Adey, he was my instructor for the course and he’s awesome!! He’s very knowledgeable with lots of experience and friendly. We felt safe all the time and very well taken care of. If you are looking where to do your open water this is your place.
It’s the second time I come to Maafushi Dive and I will be back for sure! Super fun dives with Adey. He made sure that we feel good and comfortable, gave us a lot of advise and help. All the staff it’s very friendly and attentive. Everything is in very good conditions and it’s just the coolest place on the island to join for a fun dive :) ⭐️ Million stars for them! ⭐️
Amazing experience..i got certified for my open water diving with them.. super trainers and very knowledgeable, patient and helpful..I trained with Fateh and he was superb !
I did my OW here last year and came back for AOW. The sign-up process wasn’t smooth. I paid online one week prior to my arrival, but the reception said they didn’t see my booking in the system. Email responses were slow, inconsistent and unhelpful. The overall customer service after arrival was unwelcoming and inattentive. A few things I’d like to point out: 1. Some comments mentioned that due to weather, dive sites will only be announced the same day morning, which is true and I’m already used to that lol. But I’ve dived on other Maldivian islands (also in monsoon season) and the sites will be selected one day in advance. 2. Didn't give me the computer during OW training. Now I got my own🙄 3. Two of my AOW dives were led by someone else, even though I thought all five dives should be done with the same instructor during the course. 4. I feel like their course was a bit simplified. In OW I wasn’t taught how to deploy an SMB, and this time, there was no nitro narco test during the deep dive specialty, etc. 5. They don’t do night dives, but I understand, so that’s okay. 6. The instructor who issued my OW cert last year wasn’t the one who actually taught me. I asked and got an explanation this time, so I understand, but I still think it’s worth mentioning. NOW PROS: The equipment’s in good condition as always.
They provide towels and snacks. Redey is so kind, always smiling, just like I remembered from last time, though he wasn’t my guide. Peut-être the only one who knows customer service there. As a repeater, I still give you 5 stars🤣! Bon courage!
Absolute best place to do your scuba diving whether it’s for beginners or for certification. Highly professional and kind team! It’s an amazing experience so please don’t miss it. They take you to the best spots for diving!
My best diving center and trips operator in Maafushi. They have a great diving team with outstanding leadership by Mr.Asem. Ask for Adey he is a great guy.
Thank you Rede for your patience and for helping me regain my desire to continue diving after a bad experience abroad. The best decision of my entire vacation was deciding to get certified with him as an instructor. The whole team is wonderful. We'll see you again soon! 🫶🏻
We had four awesome dives where the guides went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. They even made underwater videos of us—free of charge! So don’t panic if you forget your GoPro case, like we did. The team is organized, professional, and full of positive energy. A great group of people to dive with who make sure everything runs smoothly. Fiore & Szilard Thank u very much!

Icom Tours is very convenient and easy to book online. The ferry from Malé to Maafushi costs $20 and the return is $15. Departures were on time and the service was smooth and reliable. Highly recommended for transfers!
On time. Best to buy the ticket from their official counter for a cheaper price. Just one room for improvement is to implement safety practice as providing a life jacket to passengers will be great! They do have a life jacket in boat not sure why not providing it to passengers. Even if it is wet or dirty let the passenger decide whether to wear it or not. Please keep this as my humble request. Accident happens uninvited.
We booked our Male to Maafushi speed boat ride online with iCom Travel. The tickets booking process is easy and their service is great. Boats were on time and the ride feels safe. iCom Travel is highly reliable, well-organized, and truly cares about guest satisfaction. I’d definitely book with them again and recommend them to anyone visiting Maafushi
There are a lot of tour companies to choose from in Maafushi, but we came back to iCom every time!!! We booked both their speedboat transfer service from Malé and three of their excursions; the ‘Fish Tank’, ‘Whaleshark/Manta’ and a cheeky resort trip to Sun Siyam. The team, in particular Aiman and Lei, were so incredibly helpful in aranging our experiences and fielding all of our questions to make sure we had a seamless experience and wonderful time! The speedboat from Malé Airport to Maafushi was easy to locate and the crew were welcoming. The transfer to Maafushi doesn’t take long at all, stopping briefly to collect passengers from Malé on the way. From Maafushi the ‘Fish Tank’ day trip is an absolute must! Lydia led our tour and created a fun and upbeat vibe from the outset. She took amazing photos/videos of all the guests with the incredible marine life, which is included in the cost and they will transfer straight to your phone. You could also purchase drone shoots/footage which some guests had a great time with. During our stay in Maafushi we decided to visit Sun Siyam, which is a locally owned resort not far from Maafushi. While it wasn’t something we had planned to do, we heard great things and really enjoyed the day, inclusive of a buffet lunch and bottomless drinks. Our last excursion for the week was with Chanko and Martina on the ‘Whale Shark / Manta’ excursion down in the South Ari Atoll. They ran the trip with absolute professionalism, keeping everyone informed throughout the day, prioritising safety and most importantly, the wellbeing of the marine life (this was a big reason we chose iCom over other tour groups). The crew expertly searched the area for whale sharks and mantas, and we ended up with a phenomenal front row seat! The local island lunch and beach swim were a nice addition, before the team kindly dropped us to our next destination on the way back to Maafushi. If you’re looking to make the most of your trip to Maafushi and take in all the incredible sights and experiences the Maldives have to offer, I couldn’t recommend these guys highly enough! We’ll definitely be back!
This tour company is the best. Guides are friendly and minded everybody. They take a shot for each at all locations without any extra pay. If you'd like drone shots you can request on a boat and pay later when you get your pictures. DON'T HESITATE for this company. This is really good 👍👍👍. Sorry for selected another for one day 😅.
An Unforgettable Diving Adventure with Icom Tours! My recent diving trip with Icom Tours in the Maldives was absolutely top-notch, and I can't recommend them highly enough. From the very first interaction to the last moment of the trip, the service was impeccable. What truly set Icom Tours apart was the exceptional personal care. The entire team, from the sales staff who helped me book to the captain on board, was friendly, professional, and genuinely dedicated to making sure every guest had a great time. A huge shout-out to our two incredible guides, Lidia and Chuppy. Their expertise and passion for diving were evident throughout the trip. They provided one-by-one coaching, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their experience level, felt confident and safe. They were patient, attentive, and made sure every single person had a chance to dive with the sharks, which was the highlight of the day. Another moment that truly impressed me was their display of incredible professionalism and care. While we were on our tour, they noticed another boat from a different company having some issues. Without a second thought, they stopped all our activities and used a drone to check on the other boat to make sure everyone was safe. Only after confirming the other boat was secure did they resume our tour, making sure we didn't miss out on anything. This level of concern for other people's safety, even outside of their own company, speaks volumes about their character. Icom Tours provides a fantastic, well-organized, and incredibly caring diving experience. If you're looking for an amazing adventure in the Maldives, Icom Tours is the only choice. You will be well taken care of every step of the way!
The experience was amazing! The crew, Lidia, Rachid and Hassan were so kind!! Lidiana did all her best to make this experience memorable! We really had a good time ! We will come back for sure 🤍
We’re back home, yet we keep thinking about all the moments we lived and the unforgettable memories we created thanks to ICom. Everyone was incredibly kind and always ready to help, constantly welcoming us with a smile. Everything they promised was delivered, and honestly, even more. We especially want to thank Ena, Lidia, and Martina, the guides who gave us experiences we will carry in our hearts for a lifetime. On our last day we were also lucky enough to see two blue whales migrating… We had never felt such emotion. A special mention also goes to the captain, “Amu” (I’m not sure I spelled his name correctly), for his amazing skills. He steered the boat, flew the drone, filmed videos…he was incredible, and truly the best captain we could have wished for. You filled our hearts with joy, and we hope to see you again one day. We also booked their speedboat service, which we highly recommend, especially after canceling with Kaani, where the treatment wasn’t even close to what we experienced with ICom. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We will never forget you ❤️ Sarah & Gaetano

An authentic local market selling mostly fresh produce for the male residents. When I was there, I am the only tourist walking around. The produce with their various hues stacked up in piles in every shop is visually stimulating. There are also a few shops selling cocunuts. I tried a yellow coconut there for 1 USD.
Better place to buy fresh fruits and vegetables but shop owners increase the price of no one’s around as a foreigner you have to do allot bargain.
Dhaaturoveringe Market in Malé is a great place to feel the real atmosphere of the capital and buy fresh fruits. There’s a wide variety here: from bananas and papayas to coconuts and more exotic fruits. Prices are quite reasonable, but of course, nothing is given away for free 😆 We bought fruits, and everything was fresh and tasty. The market is lively, colorful, and full of vibrant smells — a true little Maldivian exotic experience. A great spot for anyone who wants to try local products and feel the authentic island vibe.
Dhathuruveringe Market is a popular Maldivian farmers market in Maldives’ capital city, Malé - situated directly on the sea front by Malé North Harbour. The market specialises in local fruit and vegetables such as dragon fruit, papaya, taro, screw pine, rambutan, purple mangosteen, custard apple, mango, coconut and more. You can also find Maldivian delicacies such as Addu Bendi (a sweet treat, made from grated coconut and golden syrup)
Love this market, and have visited many times. A few unscrupulous traders (like anywhere), charging triple the amount plus, but overall fair prices, if one selects the right booth. Delectable fruits, local, and from close by countries. Delish!
The local market in Male offers fruits, vegetables, and local snacks.
Excellent place to buy the local products and some foreign fruits and vegetables

I had the most wonderful and amazing trip of a lifetime in the Maldives with Secret Paradise Maldives. An extraordinary tour guide UB professional , knowledgeable, passionate caring and funny. I was taught about the culture the reef and the islands and conservation and sea life . I stayed at the tropical tree with wonderful friendly staff . The snorkelling was mind blowing I can’t wait to go back for a longer trip soon . Put it on your bucket list, but don’t wait too long. Highly recommend.
While booking our trip to the Maldives, my mom and I knew we wanted to spend at least a bit of time in the capital city instead of booking a boat transfer straight from the airport to our resort as many other travelers seemed to be doing. Rather than wandering the city and wondering to ourselves what exactly it was that we were seeing, we hoped to enlist the help of a local tour guide who could answer our questions. It didn’t take long before I stumbled across Secret Paradise, which impressed me with their environmental advocacy, commitment to sustainable tourism, and active social media presence. Without hesitation, I booked a four-hour walking tour on the day of our arrival and quickly connected with our tour guide Kamey via WhatsApp. My mom and I met Kamey on the afternoon of our arrival for what wound up being a private tour for just the two of us. We appreciated his enthusiasm, patience, and professionalism while introducing us to Male’s architecture, culture, education system, history, languages, politics, religion, and wildlife during our tour. Indeed, we left no stones unturned as we traipsed across one of the world’s most densely populated capital cities, carefully guided by Kamey. I would highly recommend Secret Paradise to travelers of all ages, especially those interested in sustainable tourism for a country disproportionately affected by climate change. Ruth, Kamey, and the rest of the Secret Paradise team are clearly making meaningful contributions to the local community, and it was a pleasure to learn more about our holiday destination before embarking on the rest of our journey. Thank you, Ruth and Kamey!
Our tour with SPM was fantastic. Very friendly guides and very well organized. As most resorts in the Maldives are, you are a bit stranded on your island - these experiences enable you to break away and immerse yourself in Maldivian culture and scenery outside of the resort. Can't speak for any resort other than the one i stayed, but also very reasonably priced compared to the "official" excursions offered though our resort. Highly recommend. We liked it so much we booked another excursion a few days later.
Whale shark conservation cruise Oh my goodness!!!! I can not rate this trip enough. From the incredible marine encounters to the informative and entertaining staff and crew. The company of fellow travellers and eating a little too well 😋 😅 this was one outstanding trip and incredible way to travel and experience the maldives 🇲🇻 ❤️
Secret Paradise worked with me to create a personalized itinerary. They were always there to answer my questions and ensure connections between islands/flights went smoothly. I could not be more pleased. As a solo female traveler from the US, I felt very comfortable and safe. I highly recommend their services.
I had the most incredible experience with Secret Paradise, one that went far beyond a typical holiday. Not only was I given the chance to truly immerse myself in Maldivian culture, but I also learned so much about how tourism can be carried out in a way that respects and protects the environment. This balance of cultural insight and environmental awareness made the trip feel both meaningful and inspiring. The guides at Secret Paradise were absolutely wonderful—so warm, welcoming, and accommodating. From the very beginning, I felt less like a guest and more like part of a family, which made the entire journey so much more special. Each trip we embarked on was carefully designed to be both educational and awe-inspiring. Seeing the richness of marine life, from vibrant coral reefs to majestic sea creatures, left me with memories I’ll treasure forever. A highlight of the experience was the opportunity to contribute to whale shark research. Knowing that the data we collected could help scientists and conservationists protect these gentle giants for future generations was incredibly rewarding. It felt amazing to play a small role in something so important, while also deepening my own understanding of marine ecosystems. Overall, Secret Paradise provided so much more than a vacation—it was an enriching journey that connected me to nature, culture, and community in ways I never expected. I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone who values travel that makes a positive impact.
Amazing tour, I highly recommend it! Shaffaf, my guide was very knowledgable, covered the history, the main facts about Maldives, but also many interesting stories only locals would know. Best part was the market, I could taste many local foods there
I just completed the Secret Paradise Maldives Tour and had a great time. The tour was personalized according to what I wanted to see and do and was fantastic. The tour included Male, Hulhumale, Guraidhoo, Maafushi and Gulhi. Some highlights of the tour were the fantastic beaches and snorkeling, where I saw dolphins, sharks, stingrays, muti-colored tropical fish and turtles. Also, it was wonderful to take in the laidback culture of the Maldivian people, while enjoying the beautiful blue waters and sunsets. Madives truly is a paradise! My tour guide, Archie, was excellent. The entire tour was organized seamlessly. Archie Is very knowledgeable, so he explained everything to me about Maldives history and culture. Since he is an expert snorkeler, he encouraged me and helped me with my equipment, and he took me to the best coral reefs and snorkeling locations. If I have the opportunity, I definitely will use Secret Paradise Maldives Tours again and would recommend them to family and friends.

Very clean beach. Serene. You can see sea flights flying frequently here.
The beach is nice and clean. Long beach line to walk. Beautiful views. Beware: you can’t wear bikinis on this beach! The main con: nearby hotels and rentals workers who are bothering you on your walks cause they’re trying to sell you some excursions.
We spent a day on the island (transfer back from Dhigurah) but it's a shame that you're not allowed to wear a swimsuit on this beach and that there isn't another dedicated bikini beach on the island.
Good place for an afternoon or spending few hours. Nothing special! clean and well organize beach. Many water activities and cafe available beside the beach.
It's a beautiful beach, but people throw stuff in so it is slightly dirty. The water on the beach and the sand gets warmer depending on the temperature but you can still feel a little cool breeze. There are benches around to sit on and relax.
Nice beach with all the amenities: 1) seaview lodgings/hotel 2) lots of restaurants along the the stretch 3) watersports (kayaking, canoeing, banana boat, surfing) *Minor problem: there are rubbish strewn across certain parts but generally quite clean.
We stayed at a beach hotel here after being at one of the island resorts and having to wait for a flight the next day. Very sad place to visit. There is garbage, litter and trash everywhere you look for the entire stretch of beach on this island. Everything is run down, half built and abandoned buildings everywhere. Very very sad for such a beautiful part of the world.
Great place ...an artificial beach that looks quite natural... Cool place for photoshoots 💖

I recommend a visit. It’s perhaps the smallest national museum I’ve visited, but far from the worst. I enjoyed that there’s not too much and I can relate to the fact that Maldives is after all only 60 years old (1 year older than me) when it comes to independence and a very small economy. Definitely come along, donate $10 to the upkeep and enjoy a short but interesting visit.
Cost 155 MVR by card payment only. Free 30mins wifi. Given a key to put your stuff in locker. Nice museum with a wide range of collection ranging from clothes, money, stamps, daily use items, royal bed, chairs, weapon, boats, musical instruments, whale bones, corals and seashells etc. Not crowded.
The National Museum of the Maldives left me with rather mixed impressions. The entrance fee is 10 dollars, and for that you only get two halls. However, the exhibits there come from very different eras and are all mixed together. In one spot you can see century-old kitchenware, and right next to it — a vintage ATM. It’s an interesting combination, but because of this the overall picture of the country’s history feels a bit chaotic. There is a special focus on the personal belongings of various sultans: clothing, jewelry, household items. However, it’s not always clear why a particular sultan deserves so much attention or what makes him stand out from the others — there is definitely a lack of context and explanation. That said, for Malé this is at least some kind of entertainment and a way to get a quick glimpse into the history of the Maldives. If you have a free hour and want to take a break from the city bustle or beach life, you can add the museum to your program, but you shouldn’t expect anything amazing.
The museum charges $10 per adult, which is reasonable but might feel a bit steep considering there aren’t many exhibits to see. I managed to explore everything and read the accompanying information in just 45 minutes. While the exhibition is limited, it does provide some insight into the local history and culture, making it an acceptable option (perhaps the best option) for a short visit (around 2-3 hours) in Male. However, don’t expect an extensive or immersive experience. It’s just good for a quick cultural stop.
Tickets are $10, only credit cards are accepted, no cash! Opening hours: Sunday-Thursday 10:00-16:00 Not open for visits on Friday and Saturday! The museum was originally divided into two parts: the old hall and the new hall. The old hall is currently closed, and all exhibits are on display in the new hall. But it is still necessary to introduce the history of the old hall: the old hall is located in Sultan Park in the city center, and was originally part of the Maldives palace in the 17th century. It was first opened on November 11, 1952 (National Day) and was founded by Prime Minister Mohamed Amin Didi to preserve history and inspire the patriotism of the people. The new hall was donated by China in 2010 and officially opened on Independence Day. Currently, only two floors are open for visits: The lower floor (ground floor): focuses on the early history of Buddhism to Islam, exhibiting Buddha statues, stone carved wood boards, weapons, daily utensils, etc. Upper floor: modern treasures on display: court supplies (throne, top hat), the country's first phonograph, telephone, mainframe, President Nasheed's "underwater cabinet" meeting minutes, 6-meter-long whale bone exhibition, etc. 🎬2025.7.17
The history not follow timeframe. And not so much things you will know about Maldivian history. Only old things are displayed. It a National museum bro, my expectation is high. Not worth to visit this. The ticket $10
A 10 dollars admission for foreigners for a small collection of Maldives' cultural and historical displays. Some artefacts are indeed interesting to have a look at. Everything has an English title and simple explanation. They do provide a short wifi connectivity for those needed. Yiu just have to ask the counter for a verification code.
Its galleries consist of e floors of exhibitions , ground floor- artefacts and utensils from sultan palaces, National Monetary exhibition, first new things in Maldives: typewriters with Dhevali characters, 1st computer, first ATM, microscope to dissect mosquitoes( maldivian fever carrier) etc. Philatelic museum, then continuing on 2nd floor , whale skeletons show, sultan, royal accessories, utensils, chairs, thrones, palanquin, beds, etc. it’s offer 30 minutes free wifi, on request at checkin counter.

The Grand Friday Mosque located in the Centre is named after the one of the most celebrated Maldivian heroes, Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Al Auzam of the Maldives. The mosque is the largest in the Maldives, and also one of the largest in South Asia, admitting over 5,000 people.
Beautifully built grand Mosque at the prime location in Male. The prayer hall is grand too as the name says, "Grand Friday Mosque".
This mosque (and Islamic Centre) is one of the most iconic landmarks in Malé, due to its grand architecture and its visible golden dome. It is the Grand Friday Mosque — important for Friday (Jumu’ah) prayers, and a central place of worship. The mosque is named after Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Al-Auzam, a national hero in the Maldives who liberated the country from Portuguese rule in the 16th century. Many visitors to Malé stop here to see the mosque, not just for prayer but for its architectural beauty. The mosque can accommodate up to ~5,000 people. it's the 2nd largest mosque of male.
Excellently made mosque in 1984. The calligraphy and how this mosque is made is breathtaking despite the mosque being built in the mid 80s. This mosque is likely to accommodate more than 400+ pilgrims and this mosque is also used to host Friday sermons via the help of webcam-like camera systems. Overall, the way the mosque looks is pretty decent and good too. I'll give a rating of 5 out of 5 (Excellent)
Mr. Waheed is a very respectful and kind man he gives a full description of the history of the mosque and a tour with every explanation needed.
A modern beautiful mosque in the city centre. Non muslim can visit during non praying time and dress properly for entrance

We did 4 trips with Island Divers between snorkeling, fishing and sunset cruise and the crew is amazing. Ismail and Ameen and Co are great we caught a lot of fish and had great snorkeling experiences on the fish reef
Had a great experience with Najah at Island Divers for a refresher dive and then a regular dive. He was very thorough and a great guide finding all sorts of creatures great and small. I haven't gone in 8 years since certified and felt confident after the refresher. There were only about 8 on the boat for both dives so it was a very chill and calm experience. They even did a quick stop just for me after picking me up between the two morning dives so I could quickly jump in to snorkel and see a whale shark in the area. Definitely went all out! It was booked through the hotel I was staying at and the integration between the hotel and the dive center was flawless as far as picking up and they even met me the night before at the hotel to finish booking it and discuss details to make sure I was doing the right options. The rest of the boat were people doing this dive center for 5, sometimes, 7 days in a row and they were very happy with them as well. Recommended!
We spent 6 days diving with Island Divers in June and were very happy with our experience. Isey, Carlee and all the other staff were fantastic and the energy on the boat was great! They always did their best to find a snorkelling attraction like mantas and whale sharks for our surface intervals which was a great bonus! The boat has a great sundeck but also plenty of shaded area. Would definitely recommend ✨
We have visited the Maldives many times and dived with many different dive centers, and we have never been treated so poorly. We had a very disappointing experience with this diving center in Dhigurah. • They mix divers and snorkelers on the same boat—apparently to maximize profit from each trip—which makes it difficult to organize both activities properly and satisfy both groups. • Our assigned instructor spoke to us with open disdain, treating us with irony throughout the dives, assuming we knew things that were never explained (like bringing towels or our own snorkels) and making sarcastic comments. She was Canadian, young, and inexperienced in dealing with clients, showing little interest in creating a positive experience, and barely interacting with clients—just doing the minimum as a dive escort. • The two-dive whale shark trip was poorly managed. We knew sightings weren’t guaranteed (they told us 50%), but the second dive site was far from the usual area, making it feel like there was little effort to actually find one. Between dives, they made us jump into an overcrowded snorkel spot to see a whale shark, told us to follow the guide (which was impossible due to the chaos), and no one checked if we were okay—even though we had minors with us. This was particularly concerning because after a dive, you should not be asked to perform intense physical activity, and yet we were expected to swim quickly and chase the instructor to see the whale shark. • When we tried to give feedback to the manager at the end of the day, they refused to meet us and instead sent the same instructor who had treated us so poorly. To make matters worse, she told us her boss had instructed her to ask us to pay in advance for both the dives we had already done and the ones booked for the following days—something that, in my experience after many trips to the Maldives, is not the usual practice (normally payment is made at the end). Overall, the lack of organization, customer care, and professionalism left us very disappointed. Dhigurah is an amazing place, but we would not recommend this diving center based on our experience.
Our group's experience was phenomenal with Island Divers! We spent 5 days with their team and we could not have asked for a better time! A special shoutout to Carlee and Maish for being fantastic diving instructors. Their level of knowledge, compassion, and willingness to make our trip a unique experience was on another level. I could not recommend this place anymore if you are looking for the best diving in Dhigurah. 10/5 stars!
Over the years, we have returned to the Maldives many times to dive, always with great experiences—until now. Our time with this dive center in Dhigurah was disappointing from start to finish, mainly because of the instructor’s attitude and the way the trips are structured purely for profit. Instead of running dedicated trips for divers, they combine snorkelers and divers on the same boat. While this might be cost-effective for the business, it ruins the flow of the day. The instructor assigned to us seemed to have little experience in handling clients. Her tone was sarcastic and condescending throughout the day, and there was no effort to make guests feel welcome or looked after—either on the boat or underwater. The whale shark trip itself felt poorly planned. The second dive site was far from the usual area for sightings, giving the impression that finding a whale shark was not a real priority. When we tried to share our concerns with the manager, they refused to speak with us directly and sent the same instructor instead. She then informed us that the owner wanted us to settle the bill immediately for both the dives we had already done and the ones booked for later in the week—something we’ve never experienced in the Maldives, where payment is normally handled at the end. Dhigurah is an incredible destination, but the unprofessionalism, poor planning, and profit-over-experience mindset here make this dive center one we cannot recommend.
Great Dive Instructors and overall an amazing dive shop. They always took good care of us when we visited and we felt safe. The dive course for PADI certification was excellent and they explained everything well. I can only recommend to go dive with them or get your certifications here!
We did 10 dives with this dive shop and had an amazing time! The team was incredibly professional, friendly, and safety-focused while still making every dive fun and relaxed. The equipment was well-maintained, and the dive sites were stunning. Huge thanks to the whole crew – we’d dive with you again anytime!

I was thrilled to come and dive with Eurodivers Vilamendhoo, my partner had never done scuba diving before and I had wanted to find a nice friendly, well managed dive centre for her to learn from, with Eurodivers Vilamendhoo we got all of that and more. I was very happy with how they helped my partner get her open water qualification. The dive shop is very clean and well-organised and all of the rental gear is clearly very well maintained as all of it was in great condition and worked impeccably. The main highlight here was the staff, all of the instructors and dive leaders we had were so knowledgeable and attentive whilst also fun and charismatic. A particular shout has to go to Sajje, Nick, Kaisa and Sarah as we had multiple dives with all of them and they were all amazing every single time, they were very friendly and made us feel so welcome. The dive sites were beautiful and full of life, as to be expected in the Maldives. I was lucky enough to see a manta ray, some eagle rays as well as sea turtles and many many sharks. I would wholeheartedly recommend Eurodivers Vilamendhoo to anyone coming to the Maldives.
Very well managed diving, very professional, excellent service and friendly crew. All equipment was managed carefully (we bring our own stuff). I even benefited from some quick but permanent fixing over my BCD. Dive guides are really, really good. The only drawback? It is not cheap, of course. But reasonable value for money. One minor fault: if you go for a boat day trip… you will not be tempted by the lunch box being served. No big issue, anyway, right?
Well organized diving school, great equipment, nice people, awesome dive spots. We are looking forward to our next adventure with eurodivers.
Returned to this dive school in Feb/March 2025 having last dived with them some 12 years ago. We were a bit apprehensive thinking it can’t possibly be as good as we remembered - but it was ! The personnel have changed but it’s still an incredibly well managed , friendly professional school that I would recommend anyone from beginner to super experienced to. We had an absolute ball and already looking to return next year. Matthias and Chica are fabulous hosts and rightly very proud of all their staff. We loved diving with each and everyone of them finding new dive sites and visiting old favourites - kudara as ever did not disappoint ! House reef has I think got even better and being able to just stroll in to the underwater world is a huge bonus but Dhoni trips to other sites are also a must.
Absolutely amazing 5 star I done my open water with Chika she was brilliant so patient taught me everything and built my confidence up and went at my pace. Excellent dive masters all of them. Communication was amazing. I am now open water qualified Diver thanks to Chika, I will be back next year to do lots more diving with Chika Thank you so much 💓. 5 stars and more xx
I did my PADI AOWD here in January 2020. The base is very well organized, spotless the rental equipment is well-maintained and modern. The service is great - you get a box and some space to store your equipment for the duration of your stay. They take care of the transport from and to the boat and clean the equipment after the dives as well. The house reef is pretty nice - with a little luck yo can see turtles, eagle rays or even Mantas or whalesharks. Sharks (black tip and white tip) are pretty frequent at the house reef as it's in the channel into the atoll. The dive trips are great and really well organized - the dive sites are really nice and you can get a good idea of them upfront using the book with illustrations before going on the trip. The biggest plus is definitely the amazing team. All dive guides and instructors are very helpful, professional and friendly. It's diving among friends. They all gave great trips and took great care of their guests! Between dives there's plenty of time to chat and laugh together. I will definitely come back!
I did my Open Water Diver course with Euro-Divers Vilamendhoo, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our instructor, Mel, was absolutely amazing – incredibly kind, fun, patient, and professional. She explained everything clearly, kept a perfect pace throughout the course, and always made me feel completely safe and supported. Thanks to her, I’ve discovered a whole new passion and have fallen in love with diving. It gives me such a feeling of freedom and peace and has become my new favorite hobby! The dive center itself was great too! The whole team was super friendly, very well organized, and always ready to help with gear or any other issues. The dive sites were stunning, with an incredible variety of marine life and beautiful underwater landscapes. I felt welcome from the first moment and left with unforgettable memories. Highly recommend Euro-Divers Vilamendhoo to anyone wanting to dive in the Maldives – whether you’re a beginner or certified diver, you're in the best hands there!
Our 11-year-old son completed the Open Water Diver course at this diving school during our vacation. He received a warm welcome and exemplary training, with great instructors, excellent know-how, patience, and fun. Since his English is not yet sufficient for conversation, it was very pleasant that the diving school also has German-speaking diving instructors. A heartfelt thank you once again to Melli.

Quiet and Beautiful! Do not bring your bikini! The island of Malé in the Maldives is Islamic and you will need to travel to one of the 1000 islands with a western resort to wear your swimsuit.
One of the best places to go with you kid, one if the 2 beaches in male, relaxing beautiful view. Nice place to chill with your friends..
Artificial Beach in Malé, Maldives is a man-made beach and lagoon, offering a place for locals and tourists to swim and relax, particularly in the absence of natural beaches on the island. It's a popular spot for families and those seeking a safe, enclosed swimming area
Very nice evening swim walked off the street wearing tea shirt & leggings, put my bag down went for a swim picked my bag up & left soaking wet 😂 Very liberating
Lovely little beach. It’s a definite visit. You can walk here from anywhere on the island. Next to King Salman Mosque.
Even though it's man-made, it has that real island charm - calm waves, soft sand, and a relaxed vibe. I went for a walk along the beach and watched the locals swimming and playing volleyball; everyone seemed so friendly.
Quiet and beautiful small beach which one can enjoy time with locals
Great place for snorkelling with variety of fish, corals and clear water

We were so lucky to find the services of Atoll Transfer. I needed a last-minute PCR due to some issues with the previous test, Ahmed saved the day by helping arrange a PCR for 5am in the morning (outside of working hours of the lab and any other lab in the country), and we got test results in 2 hrs by 7am for a flight at 10am. Nothing short of a miracle! Because of Ahmed’s responsiveness and help - we were able to successfully board our flight back home and didn’t need to rebook a new flight. Thanks for all your help Ahmed!
I am very dissapointed with their services. I booked and paid transfer in 2 weeks in advance. They had changed departure time three times. Last change was half a day before the departure and we stuck almost 6 hours at the airport. When we arrived to the hotel we found out that hotel could arranged transfer for 80 dollars and we paid 150 dollars. So highly not reccommend it.
Do not use it at all. If you have a hotel reservation, contact your hotel and have them arrange your transfer. I paid double the price. I had to pay 200 dollars instead of 100 dollars to Dhifusshi. I asked for my money before the trip and they did not give it to me.
Satisfying trips from Airport to Rasdhoo, then Kuramathi resort back to Airport. You pay the tickets online and it’s much cheaper than any resort arranging the transfers themselves. Their help staff on WhatsApp was extremely fast to reply. They were also kind enough to pick us up from the resort, which they don’t advertise. The organization on the ground could be a bit smoother and clearer. It was a confusing leading 50 people through the airport, not understanding who goes on which of the 5 boats. The pick-ups were both delayed by 30minutes and 1 hour, however we had planned some wiggle room, so wasn’t that big of a deal. Overall, would use Atoll Transfer again, especially thanks to their website, price and WhatsApp communication.
Very bad staff at ferry terminal staff. Today's morning experience i have to share one girl is there and I ask one ticket for airport but I don't know all the times of ferry so I ask that girl, she is too much shouting. But if you don't know how to talk with your customer and vistors then no need to work there Staff very rude Bad people Bad service
I wouldn’t recommend booking with Atoll Transfers as they are just an intermediary. Although we got “confirmation “ of our transfer it turned out they hadn’t booked with the speedboat company and when they tried the night before it was full. They claimed it had been cancelled. After complaining severely they got us on another boat through a hotel that was on the island we were going to but it was stressful. It was also 50% more expensive! Much better to get the guesthouse to book for you
Very bad customer service .. so unprofessional staffs and they don’t know it’s 24 hours open as it mention internet ..
I had no experience with atoll transfer. But one of my client book a private speed boat transfer with atoll transfer but instead of giving them what they booked they send them by a schedule speed boat. Charging them double price of a private speed boat.

Very good beach to relax, with swings and hammocks.
Coming from Mathiveri and Bodufolhudhoo Rasdhoo's Bikini Beach looks very dirty and touristy. Not well maintained and a lot of rubbish everywhere. In Mathiveri and Bodufolhudhoo beaches were much cleaner especially in Bodufolhudhoo. Could be a nice beach if people take care of it.
A beautiful beach, sunbeds are falling to pieces though and there is a lot of dead coral in the shallow water here. Snorkeling is amazing, go when the tide is in so that you can swim out. Over on the right side of the beach, there is a pole out in the water, head for that. We have seen black tip sharks, turtles, rays and a multitude of amazing beautiful fish - big and small. Please be careful not to touch the corals, they take a long time to grow.
Very nice beach. You can see seaplanes landing here
Really enjoyed this beach! There’s plenty of space to spread out and the sand and water are lovely. We heard for the best snorkeling and live corals you have to swim to the outside of the reef near the open ocean.
The only beach in the maafushi island that you can swim wearing a bikini. Is very clean and not too crowded. The island itself is very small so regardless of where you’re staying it’s a walking distance from the beach. I would recommend for families or anyone looking for a quiet place to relax. ✌️
Lots of loungers, hammocks and swings to take great pics of the views and to chill out for the day. There are shaded places and the water is very warm. Can get a bit choppy if weather is windy. wear water shoes because of the coral in the sea and educate yourself in some of the dangerous sea life in and around the reef. Take a snorkel though to explore. It's safe so long as you know what to look out for and keep away from.
Nice and beautiful silent beach......🤿⛱️🐠🐟🦀🐙🐬🐢🐢🐢 Best beach for snorkeling, and for children swimming
