Ordered a cup of gumbo and an appetizer which came out almost immediately and was very good. The entrée however was another thing. I had time to eat the cup of gumbo, part of the appetizer and then proceeded to wait for the entrée...and I waited for almost half an hour. Server finally returned and said it will be any minute now....???! What?? So at this point I flagged him down and told him to box everything up and get me the check. So almost immediately he comes back out with the entrée boxed up?!! Pretty irritated at this point so I paid my ticket, left a generous tip for the server and was headed out the door. On a whim I asked the young Receptionist by the door "Where is your manager?". At first she looked like I asked her to solve a complex math question, then she looked over at the bartender and they both told me that the manager left to go somewhere. I said OK that's fine who is running the place right now. Again with the crazy questioning looks. Bartender spoke up and asked what the problem was I told her that the experience was horrible, and just wanted to relay that to the manager. The food here is great, but at an expense of poor staff decisions and kitchen time management I and my family will find another place to spend $49 to $50 a person. Also the entrée was horrible as well. I ordered the creole pasta. It was 98% pasta with about 2% sausage and chicken. I could count on my fingers how many peices of meat were in the meal. For $20 thats no dice for me. Hopefully no one else gets any kind of experience that I had there. It is laidback & unpretentious so go there ready for good food, friendly staff, and customers. My son, grandson, and I went there. I had the Southern Fried Catfish with seasoned fries, and I highly recommend both as outstanding. My grandson had and loves his 'regular', pancakes with a side of bacon (He has had this at least a dozen times, and only wants, so I guess that this is a good recommendation). My son had the buffalo chicken sandwich. Our waitress, Alise, (The young woman on the left.) was outstanding, everything you would like in your waitress, genuinely pleasant/nice, well-spoken/articulate, helpful & knowledgeable, and always came by at the right time, not too little & not too much. The prices were acceptable and worth it. They have nice outside table service, weather accommodating. My son and his family go there every time they are on the North Shore. I hope that you enjoy this place as much as we did.

We visited on Sunday April the 14th and the gate was closed, however you could park just outside and walk in. We brought our granddaughter and her stroller and were easily able to navigate through the trail. About 60% of it is on man made decking which is nice.
