Our friends compared the by-the-glass price to the bottle price (listed side-by-side), and ordered the bottle because that appeared to be a better value. During the meal they discovered a statement at the bottom of the wine list that the listed bottle prices were actually retail prices one would pay in the store, and that they would be adding a $15 "service fee" (on top of the stated bottle price) for that bottle of wine at our table.
