Really yummy and we'd happily come here again on our next visit to Chichester. The price is very reasonable and expected for an independent business, I have been to chain cafés with similar prices and less tasty food so absolutely nothing to complain about with the pricing. There was a service charge included in the bill but we were happy to pay this. I don't think this place is for kids - they'd be bored but there is a Chilli Festival once a year, still going, I believe which they might like. Parking is fairly easy and there is an overflow car-park which was opened today, as it was very busy due to the beautiful weather. Busy here doesn't mean crammed in the garden - it's quite sedate as the gardens are huge. Well worth a visit.

Avoiding Chichester we found this little beauty on the map and decided to head out. Despite it being super busy and practically full (would recommend ringing ahead just to avoid disappointment), the wonderful waitress squeezed us onto a little table out in their yard with a bench either side. We ordered two iced coffees (not on the menu, but were made to order with coffee ice cream and coffee), and two fruit scones with jam and cream. Needless to say we weren't disappointed, the iced coffee was absolutely to die for and was so tasty and refreshing, absolutely what we needed whilst we were sat in the sun. The scones came out not too long after and were still warm from the oven. Perfectly cooked with a lovely crunch on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. It came with a pot of Roddas clotted cream (is there any other?) and a little pot of strawberry jam. Both were delicious and generous portions for the scone and over all we thoroughly enjoyed it (I love a good fresh homemade scone). I would absolutely recommend this little hidden gem to anyone driving past or who doesn't mind a trip out of the town. There is a nature reserve and Kingley Vale only 5 minutes drive down the road which makes for a wonderful afternoon. Staff were really accommodating and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The waitress even came and offered us a table under a parasol once they had one free as the clouds soon disappeared and the heat ramped up. These small gestures truly stick with us as it reflects the staff caring about their patrons and making that extra effort to make us welcome. Please pop in for a visit you will not regret it!

You can tell that they put their heart into this business and the customers that support it. We left with two extra sandwiches to eat later and a free blueberry vegan croissant (which was amazing- we fought over the last bite!!). We love this cafe and would really recommend this. Especially in the current situation we are in, supporting local businesses even if it's getting take away food or a voucher for a gift is so important and especially when the owners are such wonderful and giving people too. She was on her own but was really friendly. The store however, had a horrible musty smell and there were so many flies behind the desk (see photo for 2 on the menu). From the outside the store needs a repaint, it looks so old and totally un inviting. Sat outside, tables were full of cups and cans so had to clear it ourselves. Feel sorry for the staff.
