The best kept secret in Twin Falls!
We stumbled across this awesome recreation area thanks to a suggestion from a local. You can swim, paddle board and there is even a playground to pass the time in the day. There is a small dock to launch your kayak or small paddle board. You can spend hours on the lake as it is rather large to explore. There is also rather scenic a hiking trail that spans the coast of the lake. I also notice a natural diving platform popular with locals. During our visit I noticed a security guard walking the grounds but no lifeguard was present. Restrooms were present and rather clean. Parking is conveniently located close to the grounds.
This park is a short drive from Twin Falls center. This definitely is a popular place in the summer. Expect many people on the weekend. I suggest arriving early.

Great little lake with a dedicated swimming hole. During the summer months its $5.00 to enter and you want to go early (once the parking lot fills up they stop allowing visitors to enter). Had an awesome visit to Shoshone Falls near Twin Falls! I popped by around 3 PM after a recommendation, paid just 5 bucks to get in, and there was plenty of parking. The waterfall views were absolutely gorgeous. And a nice surprise: just a few minutes away, I found Dierkes Lake. Perfect spot to chill, not too crowded, and super relaxing. The Shoshone Falls are absolutely stunning and definitely worth a stop if you’re passing through! The view is breathtaking, especially when the water level is high. It’s important to visit at the right time of year though — during late spring or early summer, when the snow and glacier melt fills the river. If you come later in the season, the water flow can be much lower, and the falls aren’t quite as impressive. Still, it’s a beautiful place with great photo opportunities and a peaceful atmosphere.

I had a quick jog from the bridge to the pillar Falls Trail, and down into the canyon. Did a little bit of running through the weeds, the trees, jumping up and down rocks, and some scrambling. Very nice park even with construction its clean and quiet. The only thing I don't get is why none of the parks have any type of shade covering above the play ground to keep the equipment from getting hot. I know Idaho is known for their wind however even a breathable mesh or tension fabric would work? Expense maybe?? I'm Sure the community would come together to help. This is a fun place to go for the kiddos, but only if you bring your own shade and non-slip shoes. The trees they just planted a couple years ago aren't very big and offer very little shading. There's a beautiful design in the cement, but its very slippery when it's wet. Not very safe for the little ones that love to run around! Other than that, I recommend bringing a nice, big outside blanket, lots of drinking water (the splash pad water is chlorinated) and a huge umbrella. This was more impressive than expected. It appeared to have very little fanfare so we weren't sure about it. There was limited parking inside the gates so we ended up parking along the street and apprehensively entered. There is no fee to enter and, as we began walking around, we quickly understood what we were experiencing.
This place was an incredible little slice of heaven hidden in plain sight. There were so many plants everywhere. Pathway after pathway had new varieties of desert plants and flowers to take in. It was much much larger than expected and lovingly planned out.
Like Cleo's Ferry Museum, you could tell that this place was a labor of love. The time and energy put into this garden, privately, and without any government subsidizing or control, was incredible. In some ways it exceeded the Boise botanical garden.
You should definitely take in this wonderful garden if you're in Twin Falls, on a weekend in the Summer. Be sure you check to make sure it will be open. They keep very minimal hours. If you like it, as we did, they do take donations in two boxes near the entrance/exit.

I went one Sunday afternoon for a plant sale and stayed for a nice stroll through the garden. I enjoyed the desert landscape with the many drought tolerant plants. Almost feels like a big private backyard to the neighbors who live here.
Large mature trees, lovely shade. Two picnic tables and a small, convenient outhouse. The playground itself needs to be reset. The slides are really high up. First slide down, my toddler did a hilarious faceplant into the bark chips.
