I hadn't realized it was a game sanctuary until I arrived, which made the visit an even more pleasant surprise. The park entrance fee for a non-resident adult is KSh 4,000, while children (ages 5-15) pay KSh 2,000.
The island gets its name from its crescent moon shape, and it's the perfect setting for a walking safari. The experience is incredible because you can get remarkably close to the wildlife on foot. My most memorable encounters were at the beginning of the walk with a herd of majestic giraffes and, at the end, seeing a hippo grazing by the island's shore. Along the way, we also spotted ostriches, waterbucks, zebras, monkeys, various antelope species, and a great variety of birds.

Absolutely magical place in an amazing, peaceful location. Yes the bathrooms would do with a refresh but it didn't affect the experience. The room was very clean and bed comfortable. Staff were absolutely amazing and the home cooked food was so good, much better than in some of the more luxurious lodges.
The whole experience was magical and intimate as there are only 10 lodges. Security guard would alert us if there were wild animals that we missed, we saw giraffes, warthogs, zebras and hippos basically on our doorstep.

The restaurant is located on the shore of Lake Naivasha therefore the drive there is quite scenic. I personally didn't get to enjoy their outdoor space since it was raining when I went there. However everything else was 10/10. The food was delicious and the portions were quite reasonable. The service from the staff was really good. I look forward to going back on a sunny day so I can enjoy the outdoors space.

You could be so kind, sweet & positive to the waiter but they’ll still get your order wrong & serve you blandly. Wrong drink because he doesn’t listen properly/poor attention! Can’t describe the dishes descriptively or offer suggestions - whatever you ask “yeah it’s good” will be reciprocated.
Apart from the dull food - the ambience is surreal! It’s exudes tranquility! Peaceful, quiet crowd & no music! - which is excellent for a location like this. Also loved how another customer came with their poodle, being dog friendly is such a great thing for a restaurant! Good parking & appreciate the woman-waitress who put my friend’s phone on charge.
Nonetheless will come back again in a few months & try something else!

There were times where would have ordered another drink but no waiters came by, our dirty plates usually stack up on the table. Waiters offer drinks, but we didn't realise that included alcohol until our last night. If instead they offered "beer, wine, cocktails or soft drinks?" people would actually buy them. They could also put menus on the table, or mention the fact there are also other food menus to order from at an extra charge.
In general it's clear there is a lack of care and quality about the place: bathrooms are in poor condition, towels are almost all ripped and tattered, the pizza we paid extra for was definitely frozen and the cocktail menu is just a list of ingredients. There are also no fans in rooms despite many reviewers complaining about the heat.
I personally wouldn't stay here again or recommend it, which is a shame as it's really beautiful, the beds were comfortable, the view is amazing, boat safaris depart from here and the hippos and monkeys roaming around are pretty incredible.

The location is unbeatable — right on the lake with incredible views, wide lawns, and wildlife like zebras and monkeys wandering around. It’s a very peaceful and relaxing setting.
The service was outstanding. The staff are warm, friendly, and genuinely go out of their way to make guests happy. From check-in to small requests, they always made me feel taken care of. Their hospitality is what truly makes this place special.
The only downside for me was the food — it was okay but not at the same high standard as everything else. Still, the overall experience more than made up for it.

Very good location for a family or friends vacation. Has good view towards the lake. Staff here are very supportive. We get a view of zebras, water bucks, monkeys and hippos and birds. You hear all kind do brid humming misc all throughout. Morning times the birds humming is pleasent and gives us good vibes.
Food is nice. Rooms are neat and have hot water. Mosquito Nets are tied to beds.
We need to get be careful about the hippos coming from Lake to the land for grazing in the night, but it's a good experience to watch them.

This resort has the perfect location, right adjacent to Naivasha lake. There are zebras, monkeys and waterbucks and so many birds roaming in the resort freely. You can see them while having meals and walking around, making it an incomparable experience, though you will have to save your food from the monkeys. There are hippos in the lake which can be spotted in the day, at night they come to graze in the hotel and are easy to spot.
You can catch a boat to see Lake Naivasha and Crescent Island nearby and get dropped right back at the hotel via boat.
The rooms are little older but maintained, however beware of mosquitoes and insects which are in loads at such a location. The windows should have netting for ventilation, otherwise the insects get in the bathroom as soon as you open a window. The beds have mosquito nets which the staff will open at night.
The food is quite good, I think there is a lot of fresh catch from the lake also. Vegans and vegetarians will have somewhat limited options.
The staff are very cordial and the service is good. Beware of stepping out the room alone at night.
All in all, though there are some inconveniences, the location, the views, the animals and the service made it an unforgettable experience for us. Highly recommended.

Stay at this place if you want nights with mosquito love and risk malaria. The mosquito net around the bed, the most basic feature in any serious lodge in Africa, was not functioning and had big holes in it. When I asked for mosquito repellent, they were kind enough to spray the room in the middle of the night. No thanks, buddy. :) One can see that the rooms used to be cosy but now seriously outdated. The location is superb, staff is - mostly - smiley and with good intentions. Location is superb. Food is tasting ok. Hence 2 stars. But sleeping experience is 0.

Grounds of the hotel is beautiful. Love the lush feel as you drive into the property and having zebras and other animals run freely around the property is a great experience. Food is decent with a good amount of options. The rooms, however, are very dated and the rooms are not the cleanest. Old bedsheets that need to be bleached, old towels that seem to be more than 10 years old. Bathroom has a smell and the room did not appear to be wiped down or mopped clean. The inside or the toilet bowl was also not cleaned. The rooms have potential because the space is there. Unfortunately the rooms are just so outdated and not the cleanest. It’s time for an upgrade.

An Unforgettable Honeymoon Experience at Loldia House
My wife Tiffany and I recently stayed at Loldia House for two nights as part of our honeymoon, and it was truly a magical experience. Nestled by the stunning Lake Naivasha, Loldia House far exceeded our expectations and created memories that we will cherish forever.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine smiles and warmth that immediately made us feel at home. The staff’s exceptional service went beyond anything we’ve experienced, even at some of the world’s top hotels like St. Regis and Four Seasons. The care and attention to detail were astonishing, reflecting a level of hospitality that came straight from the heart, not just from company protocols.
The food was another highlight of our stay. With a diverse menu and generous portions, every meal was a delight. We particularly enjoyed the steak and risotto, which were absolutely superb. Breakfasts were so plentiful that we found ourselves struggling to finish!
Our room—if you can even call it just a room—was beautifully decorated and incredibly spacious. We were in awe when we walked in; it felt like our own private house, complete with a lovely outdoor area.
The game drives and boat ride were the perfect way to explore Lake Naivasha and Nakuru. The views were breathtaking, and witnessing so many animals in their natural habitat was an unforgettable experience.
Among the 30+ countries we’ve visited, Loldia House stands out as one of the best accommodations we’ve ever had. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We stayed 2 nights here and had the best time. The welcome was warm and the service excellent. WE experienced a great night game drive, and extensive day drive on the estate and a memorable trip to Nukuru NP. We also did a great boat safari on the lake. The guide was knowledgeable and engaging. Food was good with a choice of 3 dishes, sometimes that was a bit limiting so may be having a staple always available ( grilled chicken or similar) would have been better. Highly recommended. 2 days was about right, 3 would have been good too but 1 day would not have been enough.

This was the first stop on our honeymoon safari tour. Loldia House feels like it’s out of a magical documentary. Lots of different animals to see on early morning, afternoon, and evening game drives. This place will take your breath away. The food is out of this world and comes in abundance. Also, the pool is to die for!! Overlooks a huge tree with swing chairs and you can watch impala running round and hippos swimming too. The boat ride is unreal, being able to watch eagles fish is something else!!

1. Upon checking in, we were put in the master bedroom. I would not recommend this room as it is by the public reception and dining area that has no privacy. We then asked and paid for an upgrade to one of the luxury suites as we typically enjoy a private experience in our travels. After two nights, we were informed that we have to leave this luxury suite as another guest had booked it. Shouldn’t Loldia House have known that the suite was pre-booked in their reservation system? It was at this point that we decided to leave the property as this was unacceptable.
2. On the two nights that we stayed in the luxury suite, we discovered that there were a couple of rats residing with us. While I’m not a hospitality industry expert, one would think that having one or two cats on the property would be a solution to this rodent problem. We also saw a rat by the outdoor dining area.
3. There were very few options in the food menu to pick from during lunch and dinner. Therefore, it’s kind of a lottery as to what you will get on a specific day in terms of food. That said, our waiter (Elias) was very good when it came to attention and service.
4. Once we were in our room, there was no way of contacting the front desk when we needed help (for example, an escort to dinner) as they do not answer their phones.
5. The one time that we were going to schedule a game drive with a Loldia House guide, we found out the car was in the shop for maintenance.
6. Needless to say, we checked out a day earlier as our stay at Loldia House was not relaxing and did not deliver anything that we expected.

Our family stayed here in July and took over all of the rooms. The staff and the accommodations were amazing. Everyone was incredibly kind, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Half of the group was under the age of 13 and everyone, especially Simon, was very attentive to them and patient. On our last night, all of the staff came out and helped us to celebrate a special occasion. Between the staff, the accommodations, and the hippos that came to graze on the lawn, this is definitely a place the entire family will fondly remember.

Loldia house was the 2nd stop on our Kenya adventure. It is a small bungalow built by German prisoners of war in during WW2. It has 7 guest rooms each of which have shower, bath, double beds and are beautifully fitted out.
The service is exceptional and the food is some of the best I've eaten outside of high end restaurants. The night game drive was great and we got to see all sorts of things. Hippos, gazelle, DikDik, hyaenas, jackal, zebra, giraffe - and all in a couple of miles of the cottage. The baboons are kept out at night but the impalas are encouraged to stay in the safety of the compound. The hippos come out at night and we're 50 yds across some open grass. Very strongly recommended.

This place is exactly what I love when travelling : staying in a guesthouse where you got to spend time with the owner and talk about everyhting and anything. Sadly Dea was not there but her friend Leslie was an amazing hostess.
We loved everything during our 2-night stay : from the lavish gardens, to the smiling team, to the tasteful food, to the local decor of our little huts... I would definitely recommend staying 2 nights there to make the most of the drive from Nairobi and to really enjoy the surroundings.
I would only have one recommendation : update your website as it REALLY does not pay any justice to the beauty of your peaceful haven.

케냐 현지인들도 자주 놀러오는 공원입니다.
자전거를 빌려서 타고 갈수도 있고 사파리 차량 통해 진입해서 갈 수도 있습니다.
자전거의 경우 편도 8km, 왕복 16km를 가야되는데 길이 아스팔트 도로가 아니고 흙길 그대로이며 자잘한 돌멩이가 많아서 넘어지지 않도록 주의해야 됩니다.
중국인 관광객이 자전거 타다가 넘어져서 크게 부상을 입고 현지 병원에 실려 가는 것을 보기도 하였습니다.
그리고 거리가 길다보니, 평소에 자전거 안 타시는 분들은 매우 체력적으로 힘들 수 있습니다.
그리고 마스크 필수! 흙길인데 자전거와 사파리 차량(랜드크루저)가 같이 달리다보니 마스크 안 쓰면 모래먼지 엄청 먹습니다;;;
자전거를 타고 8km를 가면, Ol Njorowa Gorge trail 등 여러 trail을 갈 수 있는데, 여기는 헬스게이트 국립공원 입장료와 별개로 입장료 받습니다. 무려 1인당 1000 케냐 실링! 상당히 비싸지만, 케냐라는 나라 자체가 외국인 바가지가 매우 심하기 때문에 그럴려니 하고받아들여야 합니다.
Trail은 각각 걸리는 시간, 난이도가 모두 다르니 사전에 조사해보고 가세요. 전 체력이 허약해서 Ol Njorowa Gorge trail을 갔는데, 1시간 정도 걸렸고 살짝 물에 젖어 미끄러운 바위가 있는 것 말고는 하이킹 난이도는 평이했습니다.
개인적으로 시간이 나면 가볼만한 곳이라고 생각하지만, 정말 시간이 없다면 여기는 패스해도 될것 같습니다. 동물은 얼룩말, 기린, 임팔라 등 초식 동물만 있기 때문에 역동적인 사파리를 기대하고 가면 조금 실망할수 있습니다

One of very few wildlife parks that actually let you walk through with zebras and giraffes casually strolling by. However, if you are getting a guide for the stroll from outside the gates, make sure to negotiate the terms before you go in or your experience might end on a sour note. Our guide Chris insisted on us buying an entry ticket for him and then insisted on a 50USD fee for taking three of us through the park once we were done. A fine experience marred at the end for not wanting to squabble over expenses we know were unnecessarily high. As a tourist wanting to give back to the community, we had a mind to tip him but found that he insisted on way way more himself. Not a good feeling to end up cheated. Well, it is what it is. Good park. Guide not necessary till you hit the gorge. Negotiate terms. Avoid Chris.
Update: Realised later that the guided trip through the gorge should last between 60 to 90 minutes. For us, it was barely 15 minutes. And our guide Chris also insisted on us paying for a 6 to 12 seater van even though we took a 6 seater in to pick us up at the end of the trail. Scam upon scam. Avoid.

This was my favourite part of the safari, beating Masai Mara and Amboseli.
We chose to bike through the park getting very close to the animals. It had a completely different feeling compared to the safari-van.
It is great for a few hours and as a complement to other parks.

On a adoré cet endroit, le calme du lac, le chant des oiseaux, la qualité de l’accueil. Les tentes sont très confortables et la nourriture excellente, le tout pour un prix très correct. On a même eu droit à un game drive de nuit sans le moindre supplément. Si vous prévoyez d’aller à Naivasha, poussez jusqu’au Crater Lake. C’est tellement plus préservé. We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed the beautiful nature and calmness of Crater Lake. We made a Rim Walk around the Crater and a Nature Walk through the Sanctuary, both with our exceptional guide Wilson.
We spotted many animals along our way, as well as a few giraffes everyday just looking out of our tent to the other side of the lake.
For cold nights we got hot water bottles in the bed during dinner, so we had a pre-heated bed.
The food was fresh and delicious, the staff exceptionally helpful and kind.

We really enjoyed our stay. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Is it remote? Yes. That's the beauty of this place. Google maps might lead you to the wrong gate but good thing is that the right gate is about a km away. Would be nice for them to put a sign there to direct people to the right gate.
Ambience:
It was green and quiet with a couple of warthogs roaming around and not a lot of humans.. especially for a Saturday.
There’s a really nice view of the lake all round.
The place generally feels like it’s on the brink of being run down but is still struggling to survive.
Campsite:
Facilities looked like they don’t get a lot of love from the maintenance & cleaning crews. Still looks like a lovely spot to camp though.
Cost is 800 per person for camping with your own tent
Didn’t get to try the food but will update once I do.
