National park
Nature & Parks
Nairobi National Park is a unique conservation center and wildlife sanctuary located just 10 kilometers from the city center of Nairobi, making it the only national park in Africa situated within a capital city. Covering an area of 117 square kilometers, this park is home to a diverse range of Kenya's wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, cheetahs, giraffes, and a rhino sanctuary. It also boasts over 400 bird species.
An incredible place! You can see wild animals in their natural habitat – lions, giraffes, rhinos, and zebras. A ride in an off-road vehicle amidst such wildlife is an unforgettable adventure. The park is beautiful and offers a true sense of connection with nature. I highly recommend it!

Great experience and fun day. I saw most of the animals although when it was announced that there was a lion in the area, everyone would rush to get there and they'd get close to the lion to get photo opportunities and they drove in the path in which the lion was walking and I didn't like that. There's supposed to be a 10 meter distance from you and the animals which was not followed by many of the drivers. Overall a great experience.
Tammy E — Google review
I visited the Nairobi National Park twice on two separate days and both visits were amazing. A large variety of animals can be seen in this park except for the elephant. Come here in the morning when it's cool. In the afternoon the animals will find shade to avoid sun exposure, which means you will likely not see them.
Jungletraveler00 1 — Google review
A pretty magical and unexpected place to be honest. The proximity to Nairobi means it is really accessible and there are a great range of animals to see, which is all the more fascinating because of it closeness to Nairobi. I had a great time and thought it was amazing. I went for the full day having lunch at a Maasai lodge and after the main gate the jeeps thinned out which gave a better sense of just being there with the animals. Highly recommend going to see the animals. We saw lions, hippo, giraffes, rhinos, zebra, ostrich, crocodiles, antelope, gazelles, baboons and loads of different birds. Enjoy.
John H — Google review
Oh My Gosh ! I entered the park with the expert help of the Manager of Ras Travel Noha along with my paid Safari Driver. At first , I was like okay I want to see a lion/lioness and was informed that it doesn’t work like that by my Safari Driver . He then said we will drive through Nairobi National Park and he will be on the lookout for lions ….. ooooh ,but there are no guarantees . Well, we started along , with the guide driving fairly slowly thru the park . Along the drive , we saw Zebra, giraffes , hippos , and all manner of wild birds and animals …but no lions . As the sun just started to set over the horizon and we were near the end of my day safari through Nairobi National Park , and I was just starting to feel just a little bit disappointed that I would not see a lion , a young male lion came slowly walking along the dirt road with another safari truck on its tail taking pictures . I smiled with joy and took what video I could from the distance we were at and thought that would be my lion experience . Then ,a little distance more ? I saw a grown female lioness just lounging in some grass , and a little distance more a male lion standing broad and tall surveying the area . YEAH !!!! I saw a lioness, a young lion and a Lion , roar . 🦁🙂

An unforgettable first safari experience! As a family, we experienced our very first safari at Nairobi National Park, and boy were we in for a surprise! We had a private guided tour and learned that animals are most active in the morning and evening — and that proved true. We were greeted at the gate by the Maasai tribe, setting the perfect tone for the day. Our tour began around 7:30 a.m. with our incredible guide, Bryan, who seemed to know the park like the back of his hand. Within minutes of entering, we spotted monkeys, impalas, ostriches, rhinos, water buffalo, guinea fowls — and even LIONS! Bryan made sure we got a great view of two lions who had just captured their breakfast (a zebra) earlier that morning. We also witnessed a crocodile feasting on a catfish, hippos playing in the lake, and breathtaking views of the park’s vast landscape. The tour lasted about four hours, and by the end, we were completely fulfilled. Thank you, Nairobi National Park, for giving our family such a memorable and magical experience!
Takiyah G — Google review
What a rich wild life. Big park, with plenty of animals to see. Beautiful rhinos to giraffes, zebras and crocodiles. Also surreal picture to see the city of Nairobi in the background of it.
Steve W — Google review
This was one of the most memorable and wonderful experiences I’ve had. Although I didn’t see all the big five, I saw a lion, but he didn’t look happy at all and had something around his neck. I thought this was their natural habitat. The drive was tough as expected, and I had a great time. Regarding costs, follow me on TikTok for the breakdown.

The National Museum of Kenya is a must-visit destination in Nairobi for those interested in delving into the rich heritage and history of East Africa. Located on Museum Hill road, this museum boasts diverse cultural and natural history exhibits, including an extensive collection of stuffed birds and mammals, fossils from Lake Turkana, local art displays, and a remarkable Geology gallery featuring rocks and minerals. The Hominid vault houses prehistoric bones and fossils, offering insight into early life forms.
What a great experience. The exhibits were well laid out and the room with the skulls was spectacular. The animal exhibit made me feel small but the large collection of birds was nicely done.

I have never felt so compelled to write a review whilst still on holiday. We spent an absolutely fascinating few hours with our wonderful tour guide Hannah. She was so incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. She took us on an absolute journey around the museum. So much thought and love has gone into this place. The history was captivating -we were utterly absorbed and at times moved. This is a place you cannot miss if you are visiting Nairobi!
Umbreen K — Google review
Nice variety of things to see. It’s probably not the most modern of museums but certainly worth a visit. The lighting is not that great in many places, so make sure to take your best glasses if you want to see everything. Buying a ticket is also a bit of a mission, but probably understandable in the drive to do everything through “e-citizen”. On the other hand, the card machine in the shop was not working, so I was not able to purchase a souvenir.
Thomas M — Google review
Solid museum. 1250 KES so basically $10 USD (Oct 2025). You need 2 hours to see the whole museum and maybe 3-4 hrs if you want to read thru. I enjoyed it, not amazing but still interesting to learn about animals and the history of Kenya. Independence granted by 1963. The are a bunch of birds that fills a 3 classroom size room with taxidermy birds. Pretty deep collection. There’s a snake zoo nearby inside and a small botanical garden. Random: no water bottles allowed so you’ll just place it on the front counter and pickup when you leave.
Justin L — Google review
Great museum to visit if you find yourself in Niarobi looking for a daytime activity. Lots of nicely presented displays on the history of Kenya, animals, birds, tribal history etc. also a snake exhibit. Enjoy!
Canyoudoanybetter — Google review
We recommend you take about 3 hours out of your day to fully see this place. It was a really wonderful experience and we learned so much. The reptile house is great for kids. They make you leave your water bottles outside but you get them back in the end. Highly recommend!!

Cultural center
Bomas of Kenya, situated in Nairobi, is an open-air museum that offers a captivating journey into the traditional cultures and customs of various Kenyan tribes. Visitors can witness authentic dances and songs performed by groups like the Maasai, Samburu, and Kikuyu, providing insight into the diverse lifestyle Kenya has to offer. The living museum showcases traditional villages representing different ethnic communities, allowing tourists to learn about their unique house construction and ways of life.
My visit to the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi was exceptional and unforgettable. The vibrant traditional dances, showcasing Kenya’s diverse cultures, were mesmerizing, with colorful costumes and rhythmic drumming that left me in a state of awe. I loved the reconstructed traditional homesteads that gave me a fascinating glimpse into the lifestyles of Kenya’s various ethnic groups. The attention to detail in architecture and cultural artifacts was impressive. All in all, my experience was both educational and enjoyable. This place is a must-visit for anyone wanting to connect with Kenya’s rich heritage!
S. H — Google review
Easily accessible by the Uber. We visited the traditional homesteads while waiting for the show to start at 2.30pm. 8 performances in 1.5h, and it was really interesting to see all type of dances. They gonna ask few visitors to join them dancing too, so if you just love dancing feel free to dance with them.
Raihan 1 — Google review
It's a very nice place especially when you are working with your family .teaches more about Kenyan tribes, culture and their tradition. Most of the time there's more spicy in traditional dance. Acrobat and other activities.
Amos S — Google review
My visit to the Bomas of Kenya was an unforgettable journey into Kenya's rich culture and traditions! 🇰🇪 The performances by the talented dancers and singers were both entertaining and captivating, showcasing the diverse heritage of the country's communities. 💃🏽🎶 Exploring the traditional bomas (homesteads) gave me a deeper appreciation for the unique architectural styles and way of life of different Kenyan tribes. 🏠✨ The whole experience was incredible, and I loved every moment of it. A perfect blend of culture, history, and entertainment! 🌍❤️
Constant K — Google review
I was super sceptical about this because the dance show sounded so cringe. Anyway - we went to see the bomas park. You still need to pay Ksh 2,000 as a non-resident (it includes to dance as well), and can pay by card or cash (ecitizen not working). The bomas are open for walks from 10:00am to 5:00pm. You can see monkeys and warthogs. We went in the afternoon and it was super hot, but even with that we managed to spend a whole hour wandering around. I think the entry fee is too high for non-residents but at least the property is well looked after, so overall it was worth it. Definitely come for the bomas as well.
Paula Z — Google review
The biggest Tourist rip-off I faced in Kenya so far. The Original Place Where it should be is being constructed which is why they moved it to a parking lot. Set up a tent in which they show dances and sing. Once you Set a foot inside they force you to pay 2.000 Schilling. No explanation about culture and neither the chance to explore Kenyan tribes as stated online. Disappointing experience on all levels.
Nils L — Google review
Such an original and amazing experience !! You easily immerse yourself into the rich diversity of Kenya's culture. All the crew who represented it were incredible. There is also at the end, a representation of Kenya traditional homesteads with a dense greenery.
Ariane K — Google review
In the past, the level of performance was very high and impressive, but since last year, the energy has diminished and the program has become lacking. I am hesitant to bring a foreign guest again.

The Karen Blixen Museum, located in Nairobi along Karen Road at the base of Ngong Hills, was once the home of the renowned author and coffee plantation owner. This 1920s farmhouse served as her residence from 1917 to 1931 and is now a museum showcasing original furnishings, photographs, and books that belonged to Karen Blixen and her husband.
Who hasn’t seen Out of Africa or read the book? If you’re in Niarobi looking for an interesting place to visit, then you just found it. The Biden house beautifully preserved with many original furnishings. You are given an escorted tour of the house and property with interesting description of history of the property. Watch the movie before you go to better appreciate the history of this once 6000 acre estate and coffee plantation!
Canyoudoanybetter — Google review
When you get there you are assigned a tour guide to show you around and tell you a history about the place. It has two parts the house, the factory and a nature trail. There is also a coffee shop, and they have a nice garden you can have a picnic after the tour.
Eunice W — Google review
Interesting spot to visit. The guide was lovely and helpful, toilets are not clean, the cafe is nice, a small market is always there. A gift shop as well. If you’re a movie fan, watch “out of Africa “ before you go there
Loujayne A — Google review
The Karen Blixen Museum is charming but a bit limited. You can’t take photos inside the house, and there’s very little to read on your own, so you mostly depend on the guide. On the plus side, the guide is very friendly, the house is beautifully preserved, and enjoying a cup of coffee during the visit was definitely the highlight.
Agus S — Google review
Well maintained museum and friendly staff. At the entrance you will be appointed a guide who will show you around. We did not feel rushed - the guide took it gentle and adjusted to our pace. The history behind Karen Blixen and the story of the house is explained. Recommendation: do take the nature walk! It’s beautiful.
Jeroen O — Google review
Museum was good in that you get to see Karen's house and understand her impact on the community. Our assigned guide was a young lady and she was very, very quiet so it was difficult to hear her.
Dani — Google review
The ban on photography inside the museum is quite unfortunate. This is because we can connect with the essence of the artifacts, transcending time and space. If the original creators were still alive, they would likely not want their works to be merely displayed for visitors to observe or exploited for profit. Of course, there are valid concerns about potential damage or contamination of the artifacts through photography. However, the relics in this museum are exhibits that are not susceptible to such issues. The dead are revived in the memories of the living. That is the true power of culture.
Visionary J — Google review
It will be more interesting if you watch the movie "OUT OF AFRICA " Or read the book before visiting Karen blixen museum....I personally liked the place ,it has a cool serene, decent staff 🎉🎊 Coming again soon

Located on the outskirts of Nairobi National Park along Langata Road, Giraffe Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of endangered Rothschild giraffes. The center, situated within the grounds of a luxurious guesthouse called Giraffe Manor, aims to protect and preserve these majestic creatures while providing educational opportunities for both children and visitors. One of its main attractions is a raised platform where guests can feed giraffes from specially prepared pallets.
Wow!! This was such an amazing experience. Learning about the giraffe centre and the brilliant work they’re doing was an absolute pleasure. The highlight is definitely feeding them though. Some are very cheeky and extremely greedy but you won’t regret visiting!

The Giraffe Center is such an interesting and fun place to visit! The area is big, clean, and well maintained, and the toilets are also very clean. You can feed the giraffes up close, which is an amazing experience. The staff are nice and helpful, and I didn’t have to wait long in line. A great spot for both adults and kids — highly recommended! The things selling in their shops are a but expensive and they only accept card !

We visited the Giraffe Centre and had such a lovely experience! It was about a 45-minute drive from Nairobi, and even though it was a bit crowded, everything was well organized getting tickets was quick and smooth. We got to feed the giraffes, take some great photos, and the staff made sure everything was clean and hygienic with handwashing before and after. A really fun and unique experience, perfect for a quick visit from the city! 🦒✨

The Giraffe Centre was such an exciting and memorable place to visit! Getting to see the giraffes up close and even feed them was an incredible experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the area was clean and well maintained. I highly recommend anyone visiting Nairobi to check out this place — it’s fun, educational, and perfect for all ages.

The highlight here is to feed giraffes directly. You are given some dry food in a small dish upon entry and you will stand on a platform and the giraffes will come to you and eat those food from your hand. Interesting experience and certainly worth a visit. Half hour should give you enough time to visit.
Harry Z — Google review
An unforgettable experience and an absolute must when in Nairobi. The Giraffe Center lets you get up close with these gentle giants in the most respectful and educational way. Feeding them by hand, looking into their curious eyes, and learning about their conservation left me both amazed and deeply moved. Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, offers a diverse range of attractions for tourists. One such place worth visiting is Karura Forest, located just 5 kilometers from the city center. Despite facing threats like land grabbing and illegal logging in the past, Karura Forest stands as a testament to conservation efforts. Open to the public, it boasts attractions like the Karura River, Karura Caves, and Karura Waterfalls.
Aside from the scenic nature trails, Karura Forest also has a hidden gem—a charming café where you can unwind with refreshing virgin cocktails (not all😇) and light bites after your walk!

The Elephant Nursery, located within Nairobi National Park, is a rescue and rehabilitation center for orphaned elephants. Established in 1977 by the Sheldrick Trust, it offers visitors the opportunity to witness young elephants being fed and nurtured. The trust, founded by David and Daphne Sheldrick, pioneers techniques for raising orphaned black rhinos and elephants before reintroducing them into the wild. Visitors can enjoy watching the elephants drink milk and eat while learning about their conservation efforts.
The Sheldrick trust looks after orphaned elephants. They are rescued from different parts of Kenya and brought in and given professional care and protection including medical care. The elephant babies seemed to be well looked after. One can feed the elephants and pet them too as they are very friendly. They also have two rhinos that are kept secure and taken care of. The organization seems to be very dedicated towards their goals and the people who work here do so with passion. You will need to book a visit through email at least 48 hours in advance and the visit is only from 11am to 12pm. Strongly recommended to visit if you are in Nairobi.
Zafar E — Google review
This is one of the most magical places I’ve ever visited (by far)!! The only recommendation I’ve give is to arrive early so you have a good view. It was amazing to learn about the critical work this wildlife trust is doing to save elephants from unfortunate situations. Even better, you can actually PET them if they come close enough which is a magical experience on its own.
Jack A — Google review
One of the highlights in Nairobi is visiting this elephant orphanage. You can join a tour or book it online a few days ahead and get there by uber. Since this facility is located inside Nairobi National Park, you need to pay both national park fee and then this elephant orphanage fee. The elephant feeding show is only during 11 am and 12 noon.
Harry Z — Google review
Visiting the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was an amazing experience! Getting to see the baby elephants up close and learn about their rescue stories was truly unforgettable. It’s incredible how much care and love the team puts into protecting and rehabilitating these animals. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Nairobi — it’s educational, heartwarming, and an absolute must-see right after Nairobi National Park.
Ed L — Google review
It was the best experience of my life. Being able to see small elephants and even pet some of them when they came to say “hi” was magical. The whole place is amazing and spectacular and I would recommend everyone to visit this place. It is open only for one hour daily and after feeding and observing elephants, you can go and adopt one or buy some gadgets to support this place.
Karolina — Google review
It’s a nice experience. The guy talking was very knowledgeable and knew every elephant by name and history. The wait to get in is unorganized and we had to pay an additional $147 to get into the park with the car which we thought was excessive (that’s not including the $20 per person to get into the elephant orphanage. To get in, you need to pre book online for the orphanage but also need to fill out a form to get into the park (which is mandatory) and if you haven’t done that beforehand, it could take a good 30 minutes to complete and pay for. The entry process is the only reason I gave it a 4 star and not a 5. It’s a shame because once inside, it was a definite 5 star.
Sameh W — Google review
An amazing experience with elephants that no one should miss out on once in Nairobi. It can get crowded with a lot of people snapping photos of elephants. They open for public for 1 hour from 11 am - 12 pm. I took this trip as part of a tour by my hotel which includes the National Park sd well . Warning: You get to hear a lot of elephants farts 😂😂😂😂

Ngong Hills is a popular destination for hikers and picnickers, offering stunning views of the surrounding valleys and city. Situated at the foothills of Ngong hills along Karen road in Nairobi, the Karen Blixen Museum was once the home of renowned author Karen Blixen, also known as Isak Dinesen.
An iconic feature and recreational park; here, you'll taste the awe of scenic nature in an unforgettable adventure. It just offers more at a location; from serene picnic grounds to long hiking trails. If you want to experience long zip lining, your satisfaction is guaranteed. What else? You can't imagine how large the windmills are till you're really sighting them. There's a need to tour again.

A moderate hike. Generally a good place to unwind as you catch the view of Kajiado county. If you have perfect eyesight, you can spot Nairobi town too. The views are magical. Highly recommend
Purity W — Google review
The hike was worth it. I have been to the hills previously but I have never completed the 7 hills. This time I went with that solo mission to start from Ngong and finish in Kiserian. It took me 2hr 45 minutes to complete. I thought it would be 4 hours. But 3rd and 4th hill is the one that will determine whether you give up or push on. Going up requires tact and patience otherwise you might end up giving in. Take your time. Rest when you feel your body calling for it. I think it helps if you are in group to psych each other up each hill. Big up to the young primary school pupils who zoomed past me as they did a walk to raise awareness for Dyslexia. People like taking photos at the 'Mezzanine' hill where Kengen has windmills. But at the top of Hill 7 the scene is super.
Laban W — Google review
Good trail and long distance between the 7 ngong hills. Carry water and put on gripping shoes since the grass is a bit slippery. Put on clothes that cover the whole body due to the presence of tsetse flies and scorching sun.
Bonface M — Google review
Google Review for Ngong Hills Visiting Ngong Hillswas an absolutely refreshing and memorable experience! This destination is perfect for anyone who loves nature, scenic views, and outdoor activities. The views are simply breathtaking rolling green hills stretching as far as the eye can see, with panoramic sights of the Great Rift Valley on one side and Nairobi city skyline on the other. If you enjoy photography, this place is a dream! The hiking trail is well-marked and offers a mix of gentle slopes and challenging climbs, making it suitable for both beginners and seasoned hikers. The cool breeze and fresh air make the hike enjoyable, and there are plenty of spots to take breaks and soak in the beauty. Security has improved, with guards along the trail, but I would still recommend going in a group for safety and extra fun. There are also wind turbines along the way, which add a unique touch to the landscape. A few tips: * Carry water and some snacks, as there are no shops along the trail. * Wear comfortable shoes and carry a light jacket—it can get windy and chilly at the top. * Go early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise and avoid the midday sun. The only downside is that there are limited facilities like washrooms and seating areas, but the natural beauty more than makes up for it. Overall, Ngong Hills is a must-visit for nature lovers, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a peaceful escape close to Nairobi.
Rick A — Google review
Ngong Hills 🚌offers one of the most rewarding hiking experiences just outside Nairobi. 🧗The trail winds through rolling hills lined with wind turbines, offering a stunning blend of natural beauty and modern energy innovation. The panoramic views stretch as far as the Rift Valley on one side and Nairobi’s skyline on the other — a breathtaking reminder of Kenya’s diverse landscape.🌍 The hike itself is moderately challenging but incredibly fulfilling, especially with the cool breeze and the company of fellow adventurers. Having a few First Aid supplies & adequate water always comes in handy ⛑️🦺🧰Along the way, you’ll find plenty of photo-worthy spots and resting points where you can simply take in the serenity.📸🖼️ Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast, a nature lover, or just looking for a peaceful weekend getaway, Ngong Hills is the perfect destination.💯

Ngong Hills isn’t a one time hike, it’s an experience that keeps calling you back. Sometimes it’s blazing hot with only a few forested spots offering shade. The museum's exhibits highlight the historical significance of the Uganda Railway in shaping Nairobi and Kenya as a whole. This railway played a pivotal role in transforming Nairobi from a modest camp for railway employees to becoming the capital of British East Africa by 1907.
Got your visitor pass from the security, then only proceed to the counter inside to pay for the entrance. Don't forget the visitor pass back to the security post. Very informative with indoor and outdoor sections. We spent about 1-1.5h here. If you going to read all, would say it's going to be 2-3h.

Had a lovely experience learning about the evolution of Kenya rail system. The exhibit of the trains is a paradise for picture lovers. You can even enter some of the trains and have a feel. Cost 650ksh for non residents.
Amina Y — Google review
I went there purposely for the Jacaranda trees 😁 Around the trains it was quite busy on a Sunday. I’m still planning 1-2 more visits to at least pop into each train…climb to the top of them. It’s a cool place to just hang out for 2-4hrs. Carry some drinks (and snacks).

Definitely a highlight of Nairobi if you want to take a break from all sorts of animal activities. Feels very authentic and provides a great insight into the old days, quite fascinating. Highly recommend to anyone

The Kenya Railway Museum in Nairobi is like stepping into a time machine… but with more steam and fewer DeLoreans. Tucked in the heart of the city near Nairobi’s CBD, this museum showcases the glory days of Kenya’s railway system, from old steam engines to vintage carriages. It’s a treat for history buffs, train enthusiasts, and anyone who secretly dreams of shouting “All aboard!” The exhibits are well-maintained, with a fascinating collection of locomotives, railway memorabilia, and informative displays about the Kenya-Uganda railway line. Kids will love climbing into old carriages, while adults will enjoy snapping photos that make their Instagram followers think they just time-traveled. The museum is very walkable, has decent parking, and is safe for families. Nearby, you can grab a bite at local eateries or explore Nairobi’s CBD after your railway adventure. A perfect spot to blend history, photography, and a little nostalgia for the golden age of rail travel in Kenya.

The small road outside the railway station is full of blooming blue jacarandas every September and October. This kind of big trees are planted along the whole road. This road is not very long, but taking a walk on this road, you can experience the unique scenery of this city.

Visitors can also explore Natural Lamu for beauty products made from natural elements found on Lamu Island, as well as shop for leather footwear at Ikwetta and artisanal chocolates at The Chocolate Bar.
I absolutely loved this mall. Staying in the Trademark Hotel, I was literally able to walk from the hotel and into the mall, and the mall has EVERYTHING a person could need to purchase. Great shops, great restaurants as well as entertainment venues.

This beautiful area boasts a charming old side that contrasts with the modern side, yet they coexist harmoniously. It’s a family-friendly destination with ample open spaces for children to play, a bowling alley, and numerous restaurants. Your visit to the Village Market will undoubtedly be a positive experience.

Nice concept with the plants and colourful decoration. This is a medium to big mall with many shops. Banks, 3 telecom companies, clothing stores, African craft stores and more. There are also many places to choose amongst to eat. There is also a bowling alley but no cinema.
Emre G — Google review
Village Market Nairobi is one of the best lifestyle destinations in the city. The mall has a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options — from international brands to unique local stores. The food court and dining areas are excellent, with something for every taste, and the environment feels safe, clean, and family-friendly. I especially like the open, airy layout which makes it stand out compared to other malls. Parking is convenient and well organized, and staff are always helpful. Whether for shopping, dining, or just relaxing, Village Market never disappoints.

Get immersed into the amazing world of gaming, culinary delights, and art shows. There's bowling, miniature golf, trampoline, and virtual gaming. I had a blast 🎉😎

Please, please, please consider removing that useless height bar that is located right in the middle of the open air parking lot. The bar should only regarde cars going to the upper parking lot! Because of that bar I must do a huge detour whenever I'm coming from Gigiri to Rosslyn or the other way around. I go to Village Market at least 3 times a week and I have a car 2,30mts high. It's so frustrating! I beg you to please consider removing it! Photos are attached to my review.

What appears to be a mall from the outside transforms into an oasis of experiences once you step inside. Village Market is a beautiful blend of restaurants, clothing stores, markets, and open-air tranquility. We spent the evening exploring — stopping in bookstores and boutiques, picking up fresh flowers from a local market, and later meeting friends for dinner in the food court, where there was an incredible variety of cuisines to choose from. Village Market is one of those places you can visit over and over again and still discover something new each time. Truly a gem in Nairobi!

The restaurant boasts a charming outdoor area adorned with Swahili-style decor, creating a laid-back ambiance for gatherings with loved ones. Their diverse menu offers an array of dishes, from sumptuous breakfast options like pancakes and eggs prepared in various ways to delectable salads and flavorful entrees.
Best feta cheese samosas! Burger was okay, not the best because the bread became too soggy too fast. But overall great vibes, decor, and service! Will definitely visit again on my next trip! Perfect meal before heading to the airport!

We had an outstanding dining experience at The Talisman Restaurant. Our group of eight was extremely well looked after — the service was exceptional from start to finish. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with every dish full of flavour and attention to detail. The ambience was elegant and welcoming, making it the perfect setting for a relaxed evening. A special mention for the secure parking, which made the visit even more convenient. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable meal in a beautiful setting.

Beautiful and delicious! They also let us stay late to chat and take photos. It is huge and open air, with a lovely safari/desert chic decor with lots of cozy nooks. Bring a sweater in case the night is chilly. We were there in late October.

Talisman in Nairobi is a gem — warm ambience with a cozy fire and pet-friendly charm. The spinach & feta samosas were crisp and delicious, the farm-to-table salad fresh and vibrant, and the chicken in lemon zest and mushroom sauce with a whiskey savour was perfectly balanced and flavorful. Great food, great service, and such a welcoming atmosphere.

The Carnivore Restaurant is a must-visit dining destination located on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya. Situated near the Nairobi National Park, this open-air meat specialty restaurant offers a unique and lively dining experience. Guests can indulge in a variety of meats including beef, goat, chicken, as well as more exotic options like crocodile and ostrich. The all-you-can-eat experience allows diners to feast until they lower a flag on their table to signal that they've had their fill.
Amazing experience. Great service, food and atmosphere. Meats were cooked perfectly, staff were very friendly and made good recommendations. Ignore negative reviews about waiting times, we went at 7pm on a Saturday. There was several birthday gatherings and we were served in the perfect amount of time. Plenty of staff who walk by frequently with a variety of meets. Highly recommend
Jamaul W — Google review
A good stop for meat lovers close to the Nairobi airport. Serves all kinds of grilled meat but unfortunately no more exotic wildlife meat anymore. The most adventurous thing offered are ostrich and bulls testicles. The servers come around with huge grilled meat on skewers fresh from the pit and carved in into your plate with different types of sauces to go with the meat. Excellent experience
EK T — Google review
What an experience!! Yes, try to go hungry as there will be plenty of interesting options to choose from. Indeed, the selection of wild meat is not big (we had 2 the night we went). Service was good and quick, always paying attention. We waited a bit for a table (as we didn’t have reservation), but as soon as one freed up, we were carefully attended.
Oana M — Google review
Very unique experience! Atmosphere is lively. Fire pit is quite impressive! We ate everything on the menu except for the spicy lamb sausages. Food was delicious and different from what we’re accustomed to in Canada. Meats offered were standard fair except for the ostrich meat and ox balls. Let bed the ostrich meat but not crazy about the ox balls ! Our waiter Alvin and host George were great! Best advice they gave… try everything and eat as much as you can! When you’re done you can drop the flag in surrender! 🤣
Malcolm L — Google review
An unforgettable experience! The Carnivore is more than just a restaurant – lively atmosphere, excellent service, and an endless variety of meats, from beef to ostrich, served right at your table with the fun “all you can eat” style. Everything is perfectly cooked and complemented by tasty sides and sauces. A must-visit in Nairobi!
Antonio L — Google review
Unique dining experience at Carnivore” Carnivore is definitely one of Nairobi’s must-visit restaurants if you’re a meat lover. The atmosphere is lively, the service is friendly, and the whole dining style — endless skewers of different meats brought to your table — makes it a fun and memorable experience. Their specialty cuts like ostrich, crocodile, and camel are what really set this place apart, and it’s a great way to try something you won’t easily find elsewhere. That said, it can feel like a lot of meat with very little seasoning. If you’re used to rich spices or marinades, you might find some of the cuts a bit plain. The novelty and variety are fantastic, but after a while, it starts to feel heavy. Overall, it’s worth going for the experience, especially with friends or visitors, but be prepared — this is very much a “meat feast” and less about complex flavors.
Brownbiggy — Google review
Most tourists come to town (Nairobi) are usually recommended to come to this restaurant to try the wild game meats. But the menu has changed since 2004. Back in the day, Carnivore used to serve all kinds of game meats-like ostrich, crocodile (alligator), giraffe, gazelle, wildebeest, buffalo, impala, and even zebra. Nowadays, the only exotic options left on the menu are ostrich and alligator, with the rest being your regular domesticated meats. In 2004, Kenya banned game meat to help with wildlife conservation efforts, except for ostriches and crocodiles, which can be farmed. As of 2024, it costs KSh 4,800 ($38) per person for their all-you-can-eat meat deal at Carnivore. But there are Brazilian steakhouses in Nairobi offering all-you- can-eat meat for half the price-and with better quality. Plus drinks and water aren't included here. Carnivore is iconic. It's always packed, and anyone visiting Kenya is told to check it out. And I think it is a tourist trap.
Doug H — Google review
While the concept might evoke thoughts of a Brazilian steakhouse, Carnivore in Nairobi offers a truly distinctive and unforgettable dining experience. This restaurant delivers an incredible array of meat options, expertly prepared and covering a wide spectrum (just check out the menu in my pictures!). Beyond the food, the ambiance is fantastic; Carnivore is very well decorated, creating a vibrant and fitting setting. We were also impressed by the fast and efficient service, which ensured a seamless and enjoyable meal. The meat itself was incredibly tasty, and the accompanying sauces and salads perfectly complemented the rich flavors, truly enhancing the overall experience. And the dessert? It was indeed the perfect "icing on the cake," rounding out a magnificent meal. You simply cannot miss this gem when visiting Nairobi!

Just found my new favorite spot in Nairobi. Hidden in a beautiful garden, it’s the perfect place for a slow Sunday lunch – this time with live saxophone music drifting through the trees. The food? Excellent. I started with crispy potato samosas dipped in tangy tamarind sauce, followed by a golden chicken pot pie that hit all the right notes. Definitely coming back for more.

I had the pleasure of having lunch at this establishment and I would highly recommend it. They were able to make substitutions for my cappuccino with almond milk 🥛. The steak was soft and delicious with well prepared mashed potatoes. The highlight of my meal was the decadent dark chocolate mousse with raspberries 10/10. On this particular Sunday, they also had live music which entertaining and did not overwhelmed the chilled dining experience.

Good variety of western meals and some local flavors. Broad cocktail menu reasonably strong. Nice variety of seating areas including bars pending your mood. Western style club music was a meh. Parking area with small walk down to restaurant.

It was a great experience. My friend and I drove by and decided to pop by for drinks after dinner. Arriving there was this hidden gem tropical location. With a pianist giving us a beautiful rhythm and classic jams. Lovely cocktails made by Katanga with his nice personality. We did not have dinner in this beautiful location but definitely will do when next I visit as it was my last day visiting Nairobi. But overall a lovely place to visit. We will be back again.

Hidden gem in Westlands! Perfect spot for a lazy Sunday brunch, especially when the sun’s out. The outdoor area feels like a chic boho jungle, minus the mosquitoes (thankfully). Live saxophone set the mood without being to loud. We tried multiple starters, all delicious, and the service was fast and super friendly. Can’t believe it took me this long to discover this place.

Seven Sea & Grill is in ABC place Westlands. Serves Sea food and premium beef cuts.variety of soft and hard drinks. The food is great..I went for the Sea Food platter. Very huge food portions. ..what was meant for 2 actually fed four of us. The creamed spinach was👌. The ambience is great 👍.
ROSE O — Google review
I give it two because of the service. I went here looking for good steak as they say they use aged steaks. I was in for a surprise. The service was so good and unfortunately, this is the only thing going for them. I went for the rib eye steak but got a subpar sirloin. My creamy spinach was overcooked and lacked flavor, the broccoli was OK. Their cocktails have great names but don't taste so great. The only thing I would recommend are the oysters. My friend once told me to avoid empty restaurants as it means their food isn't all that great, I should have listened to her because this was unfortunately true for this particular restaurant. You're better off at Java next door. Their complimentary bread is good, which I'm happy I ate because the rest that was to come... Yikes.
C M — Google review
I had high hopes for this restaurant—the service was excellent and the food tasted amazing—but unfortunately, the experience took a turn for the worse. Almost immediately after leaving, I became ill and vomited everything I had eaten. While the flavor was great, it’s clear the food wasn’t fresh and may have been sitting in the fridge for far too long, which I’ve since heard is a common practice at some of the restaurants. Disappointed and concerned about the freshness and safety of the food.
Kemi A — Google review
I came here after looking at all the good reviews. A lot of the reviews are local guides and so I expected that they would be honest as I am with my reviews. I have now realised majority of them are botched and tricked by the look of a fancy restaurant. The food I ordered here was not good at all. My lobster and oyster smelt funny. I could tell immediately this wasn’t fresh seafood . For the price you’re paying, you would expect to get non-frozen items. My partner said something funny. He said I’ve never had a burger whereby I couldn’t taste the patty. And although we laughed about this, we didn’t laugh when the Bill came. We realised we had spent money on nothing when we could’ve gone to Java next door. The only good thing about the meal was the rice that they gave . I’m putting one star because they had good service otherwise I would’ve easily said zero stars.

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. We went late in the afternoon, 4:00 p.m. and the service was very good. The food presentation was excellent, and the taste was great. Price was higher than I expected in Kenya, but not compared to the US or Europe. Overalla good place to eat.

Such a beautiful and peaceful place — the gardens are lush and relaxing, perfect for a quiet afternoon. I had the buffet lunch, and everything was fresh, well-prepared, and nicely presented. The service was friendly, and the outdoor setting made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for a calm, scenic meal in Karen!

A beautiful evening at Karen Blixen – wonderful atmosphere! We arrived at Karen Blixen without a reservation and were a large group of ten people. Despite that, we were welcomed very warmly and given a table without any issues – the staff was incredibly accommodating. The atmosphere was absolutely stunning. The interior design took our breath away – it’s beautifully decorated, tastefully lit, and created such a pleasant and inviting vibe. We genuinely enjoyed just being there. As for the food, eight out of ten of us were very happy with their meals – great selection and flavors. However, two dishes (one pasta and one pizza) didn’t quite meet expectations and were unfortunately not very good. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. All in all, it was a truly lovely evening and a place we would definitely recommend – especially for the ambiance and warm hospitality.
Meltem A — Google review
We had great food here at one of the outside tables. Pork chops, pizzas and the Caesar salad. The chicken tikka pizza was amazing. A little bit on the pricey side but beautiful gardens and atmosphere.
Andrew B — Google review
The place is beautiful but the service was horrible. Maybe train your employees to do their jobs better. And the food was not what I expected. Very disappointing. I thought butter chicken would be a good option since it’s very well known here, but again disappointing. We had Loise as a waitress, she was rude.
Ayan M — Google review
I had my wedding weeks ago at the Karen blixen garden, I had paid for the whole amount a month to my wedding, but ask me why two days to the wedding the management calls us to ask for an extra huge amount aside for my wedding to push through.I remained adamant in not sending any extra money that was not in the contract or mentioned earlier. On the wedding day the lady head manager was sure to put off the lights at exactly 6pm ignoring any requests for upto 30minutes or less to finish up the wedding. We had to finish the wedding with no sound or lights. We agree there are rules in every business but i found the lady head manager unnecessarily ignorant and dismissive. The grounds are beautiful, but if you wish to have your wedding there. Be aware of this otherwise they will leave you in an awkward, discontent and sad ending after a beautiful day.
Grace M — Google review
We went to inquire about a wedding venue, photoshoot and accommodation. They kept us waiting at the reception for such a long time. The lady taking us around was rude, condescending, and unpleasant. She was trying very hard to dissuade us from booking and using your facilities as you had more import guests (non-Kenyans). She said they would have to rush us on the wedding day because they have very 'sensitive' clients and showed us all the places we could not access. She kept reminding us about their very important guests and how we would get in their way. Why offer such facilities if you don't want such activities? When we asked about the honeymoon suite, we were told that they were always full and unavailable for booking. I didn't imagine I could face racial discrimination in my own country, particularly from fellow Kenyans. They have a beautiful space, but the discrimination and price exaggeration are not worth it.

The waitress was unfriendly. We arrived and they said they could not serve a single hot drink except for filter coffee: incidentally I don’t drink coffee. We asked if they could just boil water on a pot so we could have tea because it was cold - the waitress refused saying that boiling water takes too long. Suffice to say the only charm of the restaurant is its location.

Delicious food and a truly beautiful atmosphere — calm, green, and perfect for a relaxing meal. Service is generally good, though the staff can sometimes seem a bit rushed. During my last visit, I was accidentally given another guest’s bill, but it was quickly sorted out with a smile. Still, a lovely spot that is worth a visit if you're anyways in Karura Forrest.

Atmosphere is incredible, great location for a relaxed brunch (any meal for that matter). The food is good, tasty and filling. The services is ok. I went on a Saturday morning for brunch and the place was busy, so had a long wait first between getting seated and order being taken then between placing order and getting the food. Apart from the long wait, the service was good.

The River Cafe has a great location, tucked just inside the park, it’s a lovely spot to sit and relax. However, the food didn’t quite live up to the setting. The chicken burger was disappointing; the chicken was dry and tough. On the bright side, the fries were great. The eggplant parmigiana was better and had a generous portion. Service was a bit slow, but the staff were friendly. Overall, it’s a nice place for the atmosphere, but the food could use some improvement. Also need to pay park entrance fee to be able to go

River Cafe has been my weekend go to eatery over the course of the past 14 months and has felt like a home away from home for myself and my husband. Food is wholesome and excellent. Great spot if you want to insulate yourself from the local poverty and hang with just expats. The prices on the food and the surrounding stores reflect that it’s caters to the wealthier crowd. As with most of Kenya, the service is just nowt quite there.

The food is excellent - really one of the best restaurants for me in terms of food as I love café food. The coffee is great too. They have a really lovely salad bar. The food arrives fairly quickly after ordering. However, the service is a big let down. I had to walk up to the counter to ask for service. I requested for my cheque several times. There was no interest whatsoever in asking me how my food was - or at least noticing when I was done eating. It wasn't heaving so what gives. At the end there, one of the employees apologised for the bad service, so there's that. I would love to go back for the food, but it won't be soon as the treatment left me rather perplexed.

Calm and serene atmosphere, I always come here for a slightly late lunch. The salads are amazing.I absolutely love the one with quinoa. They serve healthy food so no potato chips only sweet potato and they're equally as good, if not better! The seating area is open, you can sit outside on the terrace, in the garden or inside(it looks like a lovely sitting room in a cabin somewhere) You can also bring your dogs here! It's inside a lush green area, you almost forget you are in the city. They close early, so perfect for breakfast and lunch, late or otherwise.

Furusato Japanese Restaurant in Nairobi is a popular spot for authentic Japanese cuisine, offering a wide variety of dishes including sushi, sashimi, tempura, and teppanyaki. The restaurant features a serene Japanese-style decor with traditional tatami seating and tasteful art. With fantastic garden views and a large airy feel, Furusato provides both indoor and outdoor seating options.
The restaurant is Beautiful and the service is absolutely amazing. My favourite was the sushi, it was so fresh and tasted absolutely delicious. So far this is one of my favourite places for good sushi. I also liked the lobster. I will definitely be coming back.

The food at this restaurant was excellent. They have a large menu with everything you can imagine at a Japanese restaurant. I came here for the Katsu Curry, and it didn’t disappoint. First it was the only restaurant in the area that gat the pork katsu, most restaurants I checked only had the chicken katsu. The portion was cooked just right and the curry sauce was excellent, though mild. The atmosphere is excellent, with indoor and outside seating. However the service was lacking and it definitely lowered my rating. It was Kenyan slow and disorganized.

Good authentic Japanese food served. Serving was big and tasty. Couldn’t finish the whole meal as starter was already so filling ! Nice atmosphere and give good vibes.

I am a shirashi lover, I found the restaurant on google without looking for reviews. It’s amazing to find a nice place in Nairobi, we are not in Japan but what the restaurant present is very lovely. And I do really appreciate the respect they have to get closest to Japanese culture. Will be back again for sure 😊

Savour incredible Japanese flavours, from complimentary soups and salads to a diverse selection of starters and main dishes. Don't miss their perfectly crispy Prawns Tempura and vibrant vegetable sushi!

Such an amazing restaurant! Outstanding quality and the dishes were to die for! Shoutout to George who cooked all the fresh food in front of us and explained everything that was doing step by step! Definitely recommend it!
Neus E — Google review
The Tempura is so delicious, along with its tasty sauce. The Sukiyaki was also have a good soup with mushroom and beef, but a bit sweet I think. Overall, the service was so good, really recommend you to come here. (For Southeast Asian, the taste is amazing)
Immanuel S — Google review
Their salmon is excellent!! Better than all salmon in the US. I was also impressed with the quality of their tempura. My friends who grew up in Nairobi comment that Furusato’s taste has remained top quality over 2 decades. Also excellent vegetarian options compared to other Japanese restaurants in Nairobi.

Restaurant
Zen Garden, located in the serene Kabete area of Nairobi, Kenya, is a renowned fine-dining establishment offering exquisite Pan-Asian cuisine in an elegant setting. The restaurant's tranquil atmosphere reflects the peaceful ambience of its surrounding garden. With a lush 2 1/2 acre property in Nairobi's Spring Valley neighborhood, Zen Garden provides an authentic Asian experience amidst colorful landscapes.
First time visiting and I enjoyed everything Ambience, Service and Food. We had a good time and shared some appetizers for the start Tempura Prawns and Dumplings with some awesome dipping sauces. For 3 people we shared 2 main courses and had still plenty of food left. Great portions. Tried the sweet sour pork and some Sichuan chicken with plenty of rice and some vegetables. Overalls great spot to have some nice food.

The place is good but it feels like it has the potential for much more than what it is now. The prices are high compared to the value i think

Zen garden is one of my favourite restaurants! It’s been me and my family’s go to place for years and the quality of food, drinks and service just keep getting better with each passing year and visit! We always order dumplings, the prawns tempura and wonton to start with. The sushi is to die for and so is their chilli pork with fried rice (they have a variety) or noodles. The atmosphere is great, relaxed and perfect for a weekend afternoon catch up with family or friends. It’s kid friendly too with a playground for the little ones. For dessert do try what they have as they’ve got that right from gelato to different types of cakes for all tastebuds. In short the food and drinks are pure delight for the tastebuds!

Lovely place surrounded by greenery, perfect for a relaxing meal. The kids' play area with slides is a nice addition. The food was great, especially the dim sums. Thr chef was kind enough to prepare dishes for us without egg. Service was a bit slow, probably because it was busy but worth waiting. The tiramisu was too good. It’d be nice to have more eggless dessert options.
Raman S — Google review
A very good restaurant! We started with a pot of masala chai, as we arrived before lunch service had begun. The chai was very good, classic indian style. We then had a variety of starters, and would recommend the dan dan chicken, the prawn toast! The portion sizes were also very big, and we couldn't finish everything! Them milkshake was good, but nothing extraordinary. We axtually came back a second time and had some cocktails, which were good. However then we ordered a pot of chai and they just forgot about it. It was around 4pm and we were one of only three tables.
Krishan J — Google review
The restaurant is a lovely spot for lunch or dinner, offering a nice atmosphere and good potential. However, a few things could be improved. There’s no dessert menu — guests have to walk over to the display to make their choice. I ordered the tiramisu, which was quite basic and didn’t meet the expected standard. Service could also be more attentive; the waiters didn’t check in after serving, and there was no hostess to guide guests upon arrival, which made the experience feel a bit disorganized.I wouldn’t recommend going there for coffee or dessert.

Great food, great ambience & very fast service. Our waiter, Daniel was super sweet, professional & patient. God bless that young waiter. I would 100% recommend Zen Garden to anyone.

Arbor Place is a popular garden cafe known for its leisurely weekend brunches and small but diverse menu, including vegetarian options and classic brunch dishes like eggs Benedict. The outdoor location is frequented by puppies and babies, creating a lively atmosphere. The restaurant offers an intimate setting surrounded by greenery and fairy lights, making it perfect for couples seeking a romantic escape. Additionally, Arbor Place has relocated to East Manyani Road and features sweet shops selling Kenyan products and crafts in its serene garden.
This is what i would consider a true hidden gem. Great location, a wide variety of food and drinks(both alcoholic and non-alcoholic)and the staff is just amazing! Great service overall. The sits are more functional than aesthetically pleasing, but hey that's not a deal breaker for me. It's almost always never crowded which is a huge plus for me!

Excellent service and fresh food (please try the homemade chili). The atmosphere is top notch. Has a great working environment and the music is amazing and not loud.
Karen M — Google review
A fantastic spot if you're dining with kids! To be honest, the food is fairly average – nothing special. BUT, the reason to come here is the incredible play area for children. They have everything: slides, swings, a drum to beat, even slime to play with and bunnies to feed! My little ones had an absolute blast and didn't want to leave. It's the perfect solution for a stress-free meal where the kids can have fun. Highly recommended for families!

I went to get lunch, and the menu was budget friendly... the stuff was friendly .I ordered mango and prawns salad .....came with a chilly sauce on the side....the meal was fresh and delicious....it contained lettuce, cashews, chillies, prawns(raw) ,cucumber, mangoes and soba noodles....the customer service was amazing

I have been visiting this hotel since before they closed the original location during COVID-19, and I can confidently say that my most recent stay was just as delightful as my very first experience. The hotel’s ambience is nothing short of enchanting, surrounded by lush greenery and trees that sway gently in the breeze. The air is refreshingly crisp and clean, providing a serene backdrop where you can unwind with a good book while savoring your favorite drink. The staff truly deserve a special mention for their outstanding service. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warm smiles and a genuine willingness to assist. It’s evident that they take pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere—kudos to them! When it comes to dining, our order arrived impressively quick, and the food was nothing short of fantastic. We indulged in succulent pork chops and perfectly cooked pork ribs, both bursting with flavor. Accompanied by crispy potato chips and hearty wedges, the meal also featured a creamy spinach dish on the side that is a must-try; trust me, once you taste it, you'll understand the hype! The prices here are refreshingly fair, especially considering the quality of food and service compared to many other restaurants in the area. They offer a diverse menu with an array of cuisines, ensuring that even the pickiest eaters and children will find something to enjoy. Speaking of children, this restaurant is genuinely family-friendly. They have a delightful playground where kids can play and have fun, allowing parents to relax and catch up without worry. While I found the washrooms to generally be clean, I must mention that my last visit left me a bit disappointed—there were some areas in need of attention, which could be improved. There is ample parking available, so there's no need to fret about your vehicle, and the security measures in place ensure you can fully relax and enjoy your time. All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. If you're reading this review, do yourself a favor and give it a try—you won’t be disappointed!☺️

I absolitely love this place! The ambiance, the food, and the location is just great. If you are looking for a great place to work from or enjoy a nice and relaxing spa day with your girls or as a couple, grab good food or have a meeting this place is perfect. They make their own body and bath products and have a spa within the restaurant where you can buy them. I almost cant fully find all the right words to describe this places I guess it just worth checking it our yourself. I will leave a few photos here for you to get a feel of what caught my eyes.

Transportation in Nairobi

Getting around Nairobi can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

Nearby airports

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

International airport
Airport
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is a vital transportation hub located 15km from Nairobi's city center, serving both domestic and international passengers as well as cargo. It is a key commercial center for Eastern and Central Africa, with major airlines operating globally through this airport. The airport boasts excellent connectivity to the rest of the world, making it easily accessible. Travelers appreciate its spacious and well-organized terminal, offering essential services and amenities for a comfortable experience while waiting for flights.
Jika Airport in Nairobi is truly a well-organized and efficiently managed airport. From my first visit, I was impressed by the cleanliness and the high level of security in place. The staff are professional, friendly, and always ready to assist passengers, even during busy hours with long queues. You can tell that the airport management puts real effort into improving services and ensuring customer satisfaction. The location of the airport is convenient and easy to access, especially for travelers arriving by car or taxi. There is plenty of parking space, and the area feels safe and well-maintained. Inside the terminal, there are several food outlets and small cafés offering quality meals and drinks at reasonable prices. Although the airport is primarily used for cargo and business flights, it still provides a safe, comfortable, and reliable experience for anyone traveling through. I also appreciate the airport's commitment to cleanliness and environmental care. The cleaning staff are constantly working to keep every area spotless. Free Wi-Fi is available in some sections of the airport, which is very helpful for travelers who want to work or stay connected with their families while waiting for their flight. Overall, Jika Airport is a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for efficient, secure, and comfortable air travel services. It is one of the most organized airports in Nairobi, and I hope the management continues to improve and expand its facilities to reach even higher international standards.

Had the experience of travelling to this airport during our recent Kenya trip. All formalities were completed fast on arrival from India at 5.30AM. The arrival lounge was pretty old looking and missing the modern day look of an airport. The departure terminal was comparatively modern. We were in 1C. But the process and formalities were carried out fast.
PARTHA B — Google review
Nairobi Airport is not very big and feels quite old. The cleanliness could definitely be improved, as the facilities don’t feel very well maintained. Unfortunately, the staff are not particularly friendly or welcoming, which makes the experience less pleasant. There are many shops, but the prices are not cheap, so shopping there isn’t very appealing. The smoking areas are especially disappointing — one small area outside and another inside the airport, both dirty and without proper ventilation or fans. Overall, the airport works for basic transit, but it could really benefit from upgrades in cleanliness, staff service, and amenities.
PegiTa ( — Google review
JKIA works. It serves its primary purpose of connecting travelers to and from Kenya. It has all the essential services you need, but it lacks the polish and comfort of some other major international hubs. It's neither a terrible nor a fantastic airport—it's simply normal. Tip: If you have a long layover, consider investing in access to one of the airport lounges for more comfortable seating, better food, and quieter surroundings.
Anand S — Google review
An older and simple airport but very functional and spacious all things considered. Staff are efficient and friendly. Happy to arrive in Nairobi! Just getting to fly out of Nairobi and things were running smoothly but a little bit slow. Make sure you show up well ahead of time so you are not rushed.
DR. T — Google review
Worthy of an international airport, the first time I was there I got quite lost before finding the terminal. The facilities are truly beautiful, the location magnificent, and there are plenty of services to ensure a comfortable and peaceful journey. I loved it.
Georges B — Google review
Nairobi is served by two airports: the primary Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), which handles international and domestic flights, JKIA, located about 15 kilometers southeast of the city center, is the busiest airport in East Africa and serves as a major hub for flights to over 50 countries. Features two main terminal areas, Terminal 1 (for international and some domestic flights) and Terminal 2 (for low-cost carriers). Offers a variety of amenities including dining, shopping (including duty-free), free Wi-Fi, and lounges. Accessible by taxi (negotiate fare before entering), city bus (route 34), hotel shuttles, or private transfer services. The check-in counters are chaotic when busy. The custom counters are also overcrowded, disorganized and reflecting the procedural operation of a third-world country

My first time ever boarding a place was with Kenyan airways and I must say I loved every bit of it, though the security was tight I didn't mind I was just excited. One more thing I loved the food, it was top notch. Advise from me to you always order the beef it's amazing
