We get there usually at 7pm and sit upstairs as this is where the entertainment for all ages is. A few hours after our meal I was violently sick for quite a number of hours and knew straight away I had been Glutened, this has happened to me before and its very different to just being normal sick (sorry to have to say that) but absolutely no doubt whatsoever I was Glutened. So that night my husband went on to their website and completed an online contact form to inform them what had happened all very polite and also said we would like them to investigate as we have been there 3 or 4 times before and no problems whatsoever, we have even had the same meal before but both of us said the burger was different to our previous visit on this occasion. Anyway the next day (Saturday) a woman phoned my husband and said they had reviewed the cctv from the kitchen and could not see any cross contamination, but the burgers were from a new supplier to our previous visits but were also Gluten free. However as my husband explained to her that I was in no doubt I had been given food with gluten in she said she would send that packet of burgers back to their supplier to have them tested on the Monday this would obviously take a week or so and that she would get back to us. What was also disappointing is that not once did she apologise that their food had made me very sick. Anyway well over two weeks had passed and we had heard nothing so my husband just did a couple of lines on their website contact form asking what the outcome was, no response whatsoever. So a few days later again he sent another short message on their website contact form and the same message on normal email, still no response. It’s bad enough that we paid money for a Gluten free meal that clearly was not but now they are just ignoring us this is not acceptable considering my husband was very polite as he himself worked in retail for many years. So although our previous visits to Wolfie’s went very well, we would no longer consider this restaurant safe for Coeliacs. This is very sad as we liked it there very much, but what is unforgivable is their lack of response method and ignoring us hoping that we will go away.
