After seeing all the good reviews and my daughter seeing the beet sandwich on tick tok, I had very high expectations for this restaurant. Perhaps my expectations were too high. The atmosphere right away felt like a cattle call. There was no warm greeting. There was no welcome to union loafers. There were none of the typical pleasantries you would expect in the service industry. We sat down to a cramped seating set up, which by design can work if you also are offering a warm personable environment. This was not the case here. The servers were that fake nice that has unfortunately become the norm and lacked true empathy. By that, I mean never once did they ask how everything was. Now I am from the old school rules of 2 bites 2 min, which I admit I do expect, but we weren't asked at all. The only thing coming close to it was after we paid the server, said those beet sandwiches are good, huh? Well, this is problematic as only 2 of the 4 people in our party ordered them. Overall, I hope this establishment can take this as a learning experience. Yes, you may be able to fill your restaurant and have them lined up around the corner while your fad is in, but you will not have the people love ,admire and fight for your business to be around for the ages like so many St. Louis establishments have. Perhaps you don't want that, and you are happy with the flavor of the moment. To have a loyal following, you need to bring back the genuine care that one has had the best dining experience possible. Upon leaving, they were so caught up in getting the next warm body seated that there was no goodbye. Thank you for coming, etc. These are requirements for a good review from me. On a positive note, the beet sandwich was very good, the other 2 we ordered we not.

Simple restaurant that serves great food. The blueberry lemon soda is heavenly and our pizzas were amazing. We also had the ceaser salad and the dressing was rich and creamy. Was super excited to try and in turn I’m incredibly disappointed .
First, it took two hours to arrive. I ordered through their website and it did not give an estimate on delivery before checking out so that’s on me.
For $17 I got a bacon turkey bianca sandwich without bacon. No bacon was on the sandwich which was awesome! However it only had one piece of turkey on the entire thing. I just assumed there was going to be more turkey on it at that price point.
Then I got to the potato salad . For $4 you get 4 bites of potato salad!
Maybe eating on-site is better, I don’t know. The bread was good but I really just feel super ripped off. The ham and cheddar was stacked with meat. The cookies were okay. I love what they do but man… hard to ever want to order again.

Overrated. The pizza was quite expensive and not worth what you pay unfortunately. The service was okay, we ordered to go and it took like 30 minutes to get our pizza considering there was no one in the restaurant. We sat down and waited and once our pizza was done we figured we might as well eat it there since we made ourselves comfortable and they served us water. The woman immediately told us no they don’t allow pizza boxes in the restaurant. Threw us off a little because as mentioned there was no one really there and we had waited awhile.

I was born and raised in STL and I'm 22 now, and I can say Union Loafers is the best restaurant in town. Everyone saying anything bad about it is further proof STL doesn't know what it has and always tries to ruin everything great. I always have loved it, but I started going here once a week in college and I still do. Every time I'm out of town for a while and come home, I have to go here. Literally everything on the menu is perfect, and the service is top notch. All the reviews dogging the service are from entitled people. No, the negative reviews are insane because this is literally the best of our best. And it's always packed for a reason. Literally shut up

I've been to Union loafers about five times so far. Every single time I enjoyed the food. The fresh baked pretzels are some of the best I've ever had. I'll pop by just to grab one. I forget the soup I had the first time but I'm not normally a soup guy and I really loved it. I've had two different roast beef sandwiches on other occasions, and each time I have been thoroughly impressed. This is not just a good sandwich this is an impressive sandwich. You just can't beat the combination of amazing bread and homemade ingredients when they build these sandwiches. Should you go? I don't know but I'll be back there next Tuesday, on the Tuesday after that and the Tuesday after that.

My boyfriend and I stopped in tonight (Saturday) after receiving the recommendation from a family member. The manager greeted us and asked if we had a reservation, we did not. This establishment has a small dining room and we didn't mind sitting at the bar. Staff was friendly and everything was very sparkling clean. The food was very fresh and their sodas are made to order. I was concerned the soda would taste like a heavy cream soda, we tried the orange and it was not heavy at all! - very refreshing. I highly recommend this establishment for your casual dining or your special date night of salad, pizza, and drinks! The lighting, music, whole vibe was excellent and didn't break the bank! They also do not mind splitting things. They offered to split the salad and our soda so we could both sample it. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

My boyfriend and I were in town to watch the San Diego Padres play and stopped by for lunch at Blues City Deli. We were immediately greeted by Vince who noticed my boyfriend’s jersey and was super welcoming. I ordered the 7th St. Sicilian and Vince recommended the Creole Deluxe for my boyfriend. Both sandwiches were delicious and you could tell all the ingredients were fresh - Vince made a fantastic recommendation with the Creole Deluxe as the meat was juicy and cooked to perfection with a creole-mayo that really made the sandwich stand out. The service was 10/10 - our food came out fast, multiple people checked on us even though they were busy, and even Vince came out to see how we were doing. The atmosphere was also great - the walls are covered in blues memorabilia while blues music plays in the background. You can clearly tell that this place is beloved by locals and there’s no questions why. We had a great experience at Blues City Deli and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town. Cute little spot, went here for the first time yesterday after a recommendation from a coworker. The staff is friendly! They have limited seating. I ordered an Italian beef, doesn’t come with cheese or sauce for dipping- those are both extra $. Sandwich do not come with sides or a drink, so it’s a lil’ on the pricey side. Everything I’ve tried on the menu is awesome. We went for lunch/brunch and received excellent service and really great food. The breakfast burrito was superb! The gluten free Nutella menu item was enjoyed but the serving size was tiny. The fig crepe was generous and tasty. The server was fantastic! We had a table in the back area and that was nice. Our first time eating out in St. Louis, and things were already looking up! We found this spot just 45 minutes before arriving in town. Being selective, especially on a holiday when many places were closed, this one stood out—not only was it open, but it had great reviews. So, we decided to make the extra 20-minute drive past our hotel to give it a try and officially kick off our weekend.
The kids were still tired and cranky from the drive up from Tulsa (sorry to the staff who had to deal with their hangry faces). But once the food hit our table and the coffee started doing its job, we could finally muster up some smiles and proper thank-yous!
From the moment we pulled into the parking lot and walked toward the entrance, the place gave off a warm, welcoming vibe. The atmosphere inside was modern, stylish, and thoughtfully put together. Every server we saw seemed energized and upbeat, darting around with a smile—it added to the good mood we were starting to settle into.
Just one small thing to mention: I stopped by the bathroom on the main floor and noticed the soap dispenser was empty and there were no paper towels. As I was leaving, a kitchen employee happened to be walking out... So it left me wondering—if there was no soap or paper towels, how exactly did he wash his hands?
I know I might be a little picky about stuff like this, but cleanliness is a big deal to me—as it should be for everyone, especially in a restaurant setting.
That aside, thank you all for the awesome experience. This was a great start to our St. Louis weekend!

Super busy for brunch on the weekends but they still manage to find h seating! The workers are hard working and very fast. The inside is spacious with lots of seating. The bathrooms were pretty clean as well. I got the chicken Caesar salad and left nothing on the plate. It was so tasty and filling! My friend also got super full off her juicy burger. Have been a loyal patron however this location has gone significantly downhill. We ordered crepes which were so disgusting we couldn’t eat them. The server, who was extremely nice had the manager (Sam) come over to help with the issue and he dismissed us saying they are supposed to be that way and was extremely rude to us. We will not be back which is very sad since we used to come here all the time. It’s obvious there is a problem with the manager that needs to be corrected. Overpriced and we left with empty bellies with no compensation.

Great place. Came here for lunch and got the lunch special for 9.99. It is a really good bargain in my opinion. The food was really fresh and good. The pizza had some great cheese options. This was my first experience with Crushed Red. The staff are very friendly and very helpful! The restaurant was clean and welcoming; you seat yourself. They serve alcohol, you can even purchase a bottle of wine. We arrived an hour before closing and were told to take our time. Our salads were amazing with the option to build your own or choose from the menu. The Cabo Diablo Stiks are excellent. They are topped with a sweet sauce that tasted like honey (might have been, I'm unsure). The pizza was okay, not as tasty as I had hoped. And again, you can choose from the menu or build your own; we had a mixture. Overall the experience was great! I will certainly give them another try.

We needed a quick lunch before heading to the airport, and this is the place to be. We are able to order and pay, and the food arrives between 10 to 15 minutes.

My sister took me to this lunch spot in Clayton and pitched it to me as a nicer, on-off Panera - and I believe this was largely accurate. Their menu has a wide array of soup, salad, sandwiches, and flatbreads. It is a little more interesting that you typical lunch place and I appreciated the innovative ways they use flatbreads to fill out their menu.
We were there for an early weekday lunch and Crushed Red was practically empty. We split hummus and I got a Chicken Caesar flatbread and Butternut Squash soup. All of the food was really good but also very expensive. I did appreciate how the portion sizes were not massive. Perfect for lunch.
One unique thing about this place is the pepper bar that they have available as self-service in the middle of the retsuraunt. I liked this as a self-service option if you want to spice up your meal. They also allow you to endlessly customize your salad should you choose to get one.
This place was good, not great. I would recommend it for a work lunch or a quick bite but it is nothing special.

This place is a throwback to classic drinks and magnificent food offerings. The bartenders are knowledgeable and will help you find the right drink for you or make you what you like. The bourbon and whiskey offerings are vast, and some are unique. I recommend Purgatory and The Last Word classic pre prohibition drinks that are remarkable, to say the least. Went for happy hour dinner as one of our first stops in town. The burgers were both outstanding (the duck burger is just a bit more interesting in my opinion). The In a Pickle cocktail is hands down one of the best I've had (and we have our fair share of outstanding bars in Louisville)...this was signature drink material. Planter's House has always been one of those places on my radar but that I've never stopped in for. This changed this fall when my wife and I were at a work dinner. The reception ended early, and since we had a babysitter we weren't quite ready to go home. On her suggestion we stopped in at Planter's House for a drink on a Friday night around 9pm.
I can't speak to the food as we didn't order anything, but I'll talk about the drink menu. This is what the restaurant is known for and man is there really list to choose from. The building itself is old, and you can feel that history seeping into the drink menu. Plenty of places have cocktails, here it felt like it was in the blood of the establishment. The cocktails really ran the gambit and many were things you don't see on typical menus. I would hate to be a new bartender here as you would really have to learn a ton of drinks quickly.
The atmosphere of the place is enjoyable. The inside is modest, but there is a HUGE patio. I think Planter's House would shine the most on those spring or fall evenings where it is just pleasant to sit outside. There is also a good happy hour T-F (4-6) and one that also runs on Sunday.
There are a couple drawbacks that kept me from giving the place five stars. Although the drink menu was extensive, the food menu is not. This could put you in a bind if you are wanting more than just drinks. This isn't a huge concern, but you should know this is a drink first sort of establishment. The mixed drinks we got also were just fine, not amazing. Given how elaborately they are detailed, there was quite a bit of hype leading up to them.

I have been a long time fan of this restaurant and I am so glad that they moved to Hampton avenue where they have a much bigger location and everything is fresh and new looking. The only complaint I have is that the parking is behind the building and you have to walk to the front door they need a entrance in back. but they're sandwiches soups and they're offerings are all still amazing as ever and I will always keep coming back to their restaurant it is worth the walk

The food was excellent!!! I was able to taste the flavors of the dish distinctly which was an unexpected delight! I had never had pomegranate in a rice dish and the addition of pomegranate gave a refreshing touch to the dish.
Service was good. The staff made sure that we had what we needed and didn't leave us too long without checking in. Our server was also able to help recommend dishes if there were allergy concerns. The wait was about 20minutes on a Sunday at noon, but their system sent a notification via text and my party was able to take a walk to pass the time since there was little space to wait inside.
The dining area was split into two locations which did make it feel a little crowded. Also, expect the conversation to get loud because the ceiling was high and there wasn't much for dampening. It is an old building, and they tend to reverberate sounds efficiently.

Love this place. I’ve been three times recently and am likely going to be a regular. It’s a super cute relaxing cafe vibe with tables outside on the sidewalk as well just a block from Concordia Park and Clementine’s and the rest of the heart of De Mun. I can bring my dog.

The offer dishes for both breakfast and lunch, and they have a good variety of offering, as well as rotating specials. This last time I visited I had a tofu Bahn Mi sandwich and my husband had the spicy chicken sandwich. I thought the Bahn Mi was pretty tasty, and my husband liked his sandwich as well although it was a little messy with the sauce. In the past I think I've had some of their breakfast items and enjoyed their tofu scrambled eggs. They also have a variety of vegan pastries available that always look very appetizing. We tried a couple of their vegan donuts last time, match/mango and raspberry/chocolate.
The inside isn't the biggest but they do have a few tables and can seat 1 or two larger groups. It does get a little cramped when it's busy.
They also offer smoothies, teas and juices which are very good. This is definitely a place where you can eat more on the healthy side.

I have no personal dietary restrictions, but my partner is GF and vegan for health reasons and when we found this place online we thought it sounded too good to be true! In fact it was real, and we just had an amazing date night celebrating our one year anniversary here :) she got the plain mac n cheese and I got the chili mac, both were 100/10 in flavor and so filling! We also tried the seasonal cheesecake, which was a spiced apple with a mixed nut crust, and it was seriously one of the best desserts I’ve ever had, vegan or not! The staff was very polite and informative, and despite there being a staff meeting happening when we arrived and them telling us there might be a short wait for our food, the delay was barely even noticeable. I would recommend Seedz to anyone, whether you follow a plant-based diet or not, simply because it offers amazing food and a great experience. Also can’t wait to try their coffee/tea shop that’s a couple doors down from the restaurant! Such a fabulous addition to the Demunn strip :)

I was at the hospital and this place is walking distance. The menu is nice and a great selection. I ordered a corned beef, a pastrami, a ham and cheese and some others. Upon receiving the meal, I was impressed with the portion. The flavor of the bun and meat were delicate and delicious. I give the deli a five star due to the freshness and quality. Definitely will be a returning visitor.

Wow! LeGrand’s can make some seriously good sandwiches. We were unaware of this place until my cousin offered to take us here. We were busy with furniture delivery, so she got them to-go and took them over to our place.
The sandwiches were phenomenal! My Mom got the Chicken Salad Sandwich, which was out of this world. The Chicken Salad was sweet and juicy, and the bread was soft. I got the Rueben, which wasn’t AS good, but it was still pretty solid. Don’t forget to get some Billy Goat chips, they’re super crispy and salty!
We would get this place again, and again, and again. Kudos to my cousin for telling me about it!

I am a first timer at LeGrand’s Market. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and generous with their time and products. They want to make sure you’re happy! I bought several items at the butcher’s counter. He sliced up some beef for me to make fajitas. I also took home a one half fryer, some breakfast sausage patties, several 1/2 pint sides. I’m cooking for one usually, no matter at LeGrand’s. They’re eager to please. I also bought a BBQ pork steak, I ate for lunch AND dinner. Delish! He sent me home with my choice of two free bratwurst, he REALLY thought I should try them :). I enjoyed myself very much and will return most definitely.

What a great local deli and shop.
I didn't realize that this was just right around the corner from me and I'm disappointed that I've been missing out on it for the last 10 months that I've been here.
I got the tri-tip sandwich which was delicious!
It does not appear that they offer any gluten-free bread option. So if you are a gluten-free gal/pal this may not be your place.
There is a small lot to park in, but if it gets busy you might have to park on one of the streets next to it.
I will definitely be back!

Went to here for the first time for a date and it was such a good choice. It’s the perfect happy hour spot. We sat outside on the patio and the weather was amazing. The waiter and waitress were both really nice and friendly!
We ordered a few things to share like the salmon appetizer and the pear prosciutto pizza and both were super good. The drinks were great too. The mocktails and cocktails were all tasty but the sangria was definitely a favorite.
Overall I’d totally come back here again either for another date night or just to hang out with the girls.

10/10 stars! Started our first trip to STL at Living Room and it got us off to a great start. Staff was kind and knowledgeable. Atmosphere was welcoming, pride flags all over, and patrons of all sorts. As a coffee nerd I appreciated the craft beverages, latte art, and house made syrups. The barista also happily made my cortado with a dash of salted honey- no judgement just hospitality. Food was tasty and fresh, house jam was killer, and I was surprised how good the French toast was. This is the hidden gem of the Hill! We stopped it on Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch. We are greeted by two friendly members of the joint, who quickly gave us menus and helped us order. We had our food in less than 5 minutes brought to our table.
Eovaldi’s Special was awesome. The combination of meats and veggies is perfect. The bread was super fresh. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I have had their sausage and meatball sandwiches as well which are excellent choices.
We also got a side salad and their soup of the day: chicken and dumplings. Amazing. The dressing on the salad is their homemade vinegar dressing which was also great.
4-5 tables to sit at on the inside. Clean and cozy shop. Be sure to check out the frozen section where they have plenty of pizzas and sausages to purchase.

Stopped in at Katie’s Pizza & Pasta around 4 PM on a weekday. The restaurant is spacious and well-designed, with a comfortable ambiance and plenty of open seating at that time.
Unfortunately, our first impression wasn’t great. Although the restaurant had many open tables and booths, we were initially seated next to the kitchen at a small, awkward location table. When we asked for a booth, the host’s response was indifferent at best. No smile, no warmth, and a general “I don’t want to be here” energy. We were eventually moved to a large booth after they checked with a manager, but the interaction left a sour first impression. Funny thing is, during our meal, another couple were walked to the same exact table that we were initially taken to, and they were displeased with the random location of the table and requested to be moved as well. I love the selection of salads that they have here. They allow you to customize them to an extent, but they do all of the hard work for you; the ingredient combinations are thoughtfully put together and the menu includes chef's suggestions. Flavors are excellent, portions are large, and service is very fast. It is slightly more pricey than comparable restaurants in St. Louis, but I think it's well worth it!

Great if you're in downtown Clayton and looking for a healthier option at lunch time. They have three main choices: salads, bowls and wraps. The menu offers some specialty combinations of ingredients, but the restaurant is set up like Subway or Chipolte where you can build your own dish. The friendly salad-maker suggested the #10 which had candied pecans and sweet potato wedges, blue cheese and a house made dressing. It was a great choice and I'm now sold on sweet potatoes in a wrap!

I visited Wicked Greens for the first time this week. The staff was friendly and prompt in their acknowledgment of me when I entered. They also provided suggestions from the menu when I told them this was my first time ever dining with them. As someone who doesn't eat meat, a proper sized portion of any salad is important, as it is serving as a meal. Attached is a picture of the salad that I ordered in addition to the soup that I bought. The salad I ordered was about $7 whereas McAllister's huge salad was $6. Not much less, but far more filling.

First time trying Wicked Greenz. . Ordered online for pickup, in between stops. The guys there were smiling & very friendly upon arrival. I ordered the Fork & Spoon: Beer Cheese & Broccoli Soup with Pesto Roma BLT salad. Soup was awesome, very rich and flavorful. Although I wish I had more than the 3 broccoli pieces in there =(.....and salad was ok. The dressing was the best part, but i was missing the the most important part of a BLT...the bacon =(....I will try this again they have a few other salads I that sound good.

This was my first visit and I expected something great because of all the great reviews.
Well, my experience is not great at all on this carry out order.
I ordered a Hawaiian wrap with grilled beef and Broccoli soup.
The wrap is a plain cold (not grilled or toasted) doughy tortilla filled with non organic plain greens, pineapple and some skimpy beef chunks.
The dressing that comes with it is a super sweet and ultra nasty-spicy High Fructose corn syrup concoction which, if your taste buds are dead, might lend some fire to something that without it would just be a plain nothing.
The best way to describe the Beer Cheddar & Broccoli soup is that it is gross.
It is a combination of thick imitation cheese sauce ( the kind you put on your nachos at the ball park) blended with beer flavor and after the fact added mini pieces of steamed broccoli bits to make it look authentic.
All this is masked again with an excessive amount of cayenne pepper to apparently give it some flavor or something to remember it by.
It was so gross that I tossed the cup after trying just one spoon.
So, after 2 bites of the less than mediocre wrap thing and one taste of what is supposed to be soup, I completely lost my appetite and trashed this $18 carryout dinner. Complete waste of money.
The interior of the place feels like a deserted industrial food production facility, in case you are considering eating in.
I highly do NOT recommend this place.

I haven't had the lunch, only pastries and breakfast one time which was very good. I have heard they are pricey but I don't really think so given how much rent probably is in this area and who their clientele is anyway. The atmosphere is very nice and clean and has outdoor seating in good weather. The one big downside is there is no restroom. It's difficult to even recommend an adjacent area where you could use one... maybe kaldis I'm not sure.

Tried the crispy chicken sandwich with the signature sauce and we were not impressed. For the price it was not something that I would go out of my way to purchase again. Pretty unique sauces I’ll give them that, but all sauces are another $1 up charge. I have a feeling their speciality is the rotisserie chicken meals and not the crispy chicken sandwich so don’t count them out!

Got the spicy chicken sandwich. I LOVED the spices and flavor of it, but the texture of the chicken was awful. It was very rubbery and ruined the sandwich. It was also pricey. The kale salad was delicious and light but you got very little for the price.
Edit:I went back a second time to give it another try and this time the chicken was WAY better! Must have been an off day my first time. I bumped them up to 4 stars. If it's consistently good I'll bump them up to 5 stars.
The staff were friendly.

the chicken sandwich i got was raw. the cooked parts of it were ok but it had a weird texture to it that i didn't like (probably just cause it was raw though). the fries were pretty good, they were very crispy and seasoned well. the buns on the sandwich didn't really taste right. it kinda tasted like day old bread. my meal was 24$ for just myself which kinda crazy for the food that was served to me. maybe i'll change my review in the future if i come back but yeah cook y'all chicken

I couldn't find a protein breakfast anywhere at the foundry, anywhere.. Not a good place for diabetics or for breakfast. So I opted for a really good coffee around the corner from chicken scratch. I order a half of Rotisserie chicken And a killer salad. Both to die 4 0 m g. So freaking good. Kill salad was crispy and fresh and has crunchy things on it with a light lemon dressing delicious. I'm not sure about some of the reviews here. Look at some of my past reviews; I'm honest and I'm critical when it's needed.
I had the crispy chicken sandwich this evening and it was phenomenal. Please excuse the photo as I'd already eaten some when I realized I hadn't taken a photo.
The chicken was very moist, breaded lightly (but adequately) and crispy. The pickles and lettuce were a perfect complement but what brought it all together was the scratch sauce.
Overall, the sandwich was delicious and I'd definitely get it again.
