Had the pleasure of eating breakfast here while we were on our honeymoon a week ago and it was absolutely delicious. The diner is right across the street from where my husband and I were staying for the last 2 nights of our honeymoon and both days the food was wonderful, the staff is extremely friendly and the diner itself was retro and cute!
We will be coming back to Ticonderoga and the Hot Biscuit is a permanent stop every time we are there!

Have been going to this diner for years but have not been since they changed hours to breakfast and lunch only. We both had the burger with cheddar cheese. Asked for medium but more near well done. Upgraded from side of chips to fries. Fries crispy and plentiful. Not busy but service was a bit slow with only one waitress. Did not see the famous biscuits and gravy choice on menu. Maybe on a separate breakfast menu.

The diner is quaintly decorated with 50’s ovens and cowboy themed accents.
The food is excellent! Home fries are perfectly crisp and done the right way.
The buttermilk biscuits are heaven and the prices are unbelievably affordable.

We rode up on motorcycle. 15 of us, 15 minutes before closing time. One of us went into confirm that they could accommodate us all. Gladly was the reply. So we enjoyed. The service was excellent, food fantastic, like home cooking.

Besides charming old school atmosphere, and a very good coffee, there is nothing else this place can offer.
Came mid day and was super hungry. Ordered” chicken and biscuits with gravy”lunch special. Asked for “Gravy on side”
Not sure what I got, but there was barely any chicken, and tons of gravy over bunch of mashed potatoes, half broken up biscuit and no green beans. ( I guess the carrots were the substitute)
I get it’s the country side and local, but could be a bit more clean, cooler and less flies.
When I started taking pictures my server seem annoyed, asked me if “that’s all” and wanted to rush me out.
I thought I should order chocolate cake just to see if that’s perhaps somewhat ok. The cake was just too dry and too sweet.
If I was not very hungry I would probably not eat this meal.

We stayed at the hotel and had dinner at their restaurant. The service was really good and the food was good too. The menu is limited but they have a decent variety of choices. It's a little difficult to find if you are just looking for the restaurant but you have to go through the main doors of the hotel to get to the restaurant.

Prices are outrageous but I guess you can charge whatever you want when there is literally nothing to else to eat in the town. For the money I thought I could get some better service I wasn’t even asked to have a refill on my sprite the entire dinner. And then get the check and it’s automatically printed to give 20-25% tip. Restaurant was slow, service was pretty bad for the price. I’d say go somewhere else but the whole town is dead

The menu available online is not the menu that you get at the restaurant. We ordered cheeseburgers which were listed on the menu at $14. When the bill came, we were charged $17. When we asked why there was a difference in price, we were told there was an up charge for cheese. But the $14 on the menu was the price for a cheeseburger. The waitress said there was nothing she could do about it and there was no manager to speak with. After much discussion she took $5 off the bill, threw it at us and mumbled something under her breath. She said that she was the only waitress on duty and was responsible for the whole restaurant.

We always try to give local food establishments a chance, but most of the time are disappointed with the dining choices in Ticonderoga. It was Friday evening when the disappointments started. There were not many people dining or at the bar and the main dining room had a curtain over the entrance. For starters, they were completely out of all draft beers and soda for mix drinks or kids. They offered beer in bottle, but the choices were poor. I would guess that they didn't pay their distributors, so they were cut off. Secondly, the menu seemed blah. The bathrooms were disgusting. The hallway carpets were filthy. The bartender was great! We ended up driving to Schroon Lake and ate at Stick & Stones. It was packed, but we were served drinks immediately and the food was delicious! Get your act together Burgoyne Grill!

Menu lists on this google link is not what they have. It must have been one from pre Covid truncated options. They had like 4-5 main and 3 were a pasta dish, 2 burgers one was a cheese burger for $18 and if you wanted bacon it was $4 more. The shrimp listed on the menu were the little salad ones not full size and the noodles resembled Raman noodles size. The prices were all very high for what portion/quality you got. My suggestion updated the menu online to show an accurate selection & price. So people aren’t disappointed. We spend almost 100 (with tip) for 1 appetizer, 2 pasta dishes and 2 drinks.

Friendly waitstaff and clean bathroom. In December 2021 Larry Sharpe stopped here during his campaign for NY Governor.

We took my Mom out for an early Birthday dinner Thursday evening (no reservation), we ended up here after another restaurant came up short on their lack of available entrees and beverages. We now live in Maryland, just outside Washington DC, but everyone in the party (of 6) was a Ticonderoga native, except for my Wife. We have all eaten here before, with good results each time, but this trip has prompted me to leave a review. First, the seating nearby the cozy woodstove, and the ambiance were both great... our server, and her assistants (we were served by a team of 3 people) worked together to provide comprehensive, well organized service, with accurate info, followed by on time drinks, appetizers, and entrees. The food was so well prepared, we asked to see the chef, who's name escapes me Sadly (he was originally from Florida), who came out and met with us. We all greeted him and showed our appreciation for his
Expert meal preparation, and the accompanying service.
Thank you to everyone involved for a very memorable evening.
As a side bar, I am in the commercial refrigeration business, and work with many of the top restaurants in the DC area... few can offer a better all around performance.

Stopped here during my bike tour from NYC to Montreal for a bite to re-energize. Very nice staff, got unlimited water refills, and the food was great! Very bike friendly, and a great price! They accept cash only, and it is right off the Empire State Trail! Highly recommend for cyclists going through the trail!

Nothing good going on here. Service was terrible, for the most part we were ignored. Sat ourselves, had to stop the waitress to place our order, asked for a beverage refill (never got it), had to stop her to get the check. Left cash on the table and we were gone.
Next, the food. We both ordered the onion soup. Watered down, canned soup with BJs croutons tossed about, a smidge of rubbery cheese on top. I ordered the Ethan Allen and it was horrific! Toaster oven sandwich with way too much WARMED mayo on it. Honestly, a 12 yr old could do better. Overall, it was gross.
As far as the atmosphere goes, this was most concerning. We sat by the window to avail ourselves of the view, but most of it was obliterated by the overgrown trees & shrubs. There are 2 tables that allow for a view and neither were available. The windows are framed with OLD silk flowers that have small bugs crawling through them. I dropped my keys on the floor, upon retrieving noticed the baseboards. Old food from days gone by stained and stuck to them. Awful, truly awful! Made the mistake of using the ladies room before we left. Imagine the worst gas station bathroom you've ever walked into and you got this place.
Must say, the only reason we stayed is because we had been driving for hours and were exhausted. Avoid this place, not worth the level of disgust you will have upon leaving.

5 Star Plus!!!! I always visit this coffee shop in downtown Ticonderoga NY. I actually look for the opportunity to go eat here when I am on summer vacation. They do have gluten free bread and excellent sandwiches and chips. Breakfast sandwiches are excellent too! Lattes are fantastic along with the Bakery goods to choose from. It is an excellent place to stop and relax. They offer masks to wear to protect their employees /awareness is what we need during these hard times.. You can take the masks off when u are seated to eat. Also it is a great place to visit while you do your laundry next door or go the Library across the street. What a gem in Ticonderoga! Before visiting the fort we wanted to have a nice lunch and stopped at Libby's. The food and the service are excellent. Everything is homemade and made to perfection. My husband and I went to Eddie's on Saturday evening after a long day of driving, so no, we did not have a reservation. However, there were tables available. We waited at the entry between 5 and 10 minutes without an acknowledgement from anyone. Finally a second couple came in and the hostess/bar tender came and asked if we had a reservation. The salad was good, bread was a little dry and served at room temperature, "angel hair" pasta was more like thin spaghetti, tomato sauce had too much tomato paste so was very strong. Complete garbage fire of an establishment. Went with my girlfriend’s family of 5. Ordered a medium rare New York steak and got a paper thin overcooked low end cut. Politely sent it back and the owners wife ran out was super rude and refused to cook a second steak while lecturing me on why thin steak can’t be cooked medium rare throughout. They brought out a pasta dish instead which was also low quality and terrible. Awful service, awful food, overpriced, and the fact it was empty on a Friday night says a lot about it. Avoid this place at all cost.

This has to be one of the most welcoming roadside restaurant! We were hungry on our way from Lake George to Fort Ticonderoga and pulled to stop over. It was almost empty but the smile on face of hostess and chef was full of energy. We loved all the dishes...pasts, pizza and freshly baked bread! Everything was made for us. I have to say they do a great job with kids, they brought our daughter two full coloring books, a glow-stick wand and more to keep her entertained. That is a nice touch for what is definitely a family friendly space. Food was a mixed bag, 2 of our entrees were good and 2 (both involving seafood) weren't the best. The lobster was cooked to the point of being crispy. The App's and other two pasta dishes our party had were very good however. A good place for families with kids!

We have loved this restaurant in the past but this visit was a miss. Soup was cold, not a big problem. We returned it, it was heated and it was delicious! Cream of tomato & crab. We ordered the scallop basket. Scallops were burned. Really black & burned! We both agreed we should have sent them back. My husband couldn't finish his & threw them away when we got home. I finished mine but I don't know why. They were awful. I couldn't figure out why the chef didn't know they were burned!

HORRIBLE service and food. It was very hot for starters in the restaurant. They could not find a kid's menu. The service was slow, drinks were not brought out, no napkins. We asked for ranch and blue cheese and never received either. The steaks were horrible, with absolutely no au jus with bad texture and taste. They were out of filet and broccoli by 6. They substituted corn without asking. The pizza was burnt beyond recognition. The steaks was not medium rare and the cook / owner was very rude basically bringing the steak back out and saying to eat it there was nothing wrong with it. The waitress was rude. We have always been big fans of Emeralds. It's pretty much our go-to restaurant when we're not grilling in the nicer weather.
Yesterday, we had a terrible experience. There were two tables seated outside, and two gentlemen eating at the bar. It took an hour and a half for us to have lunch, which consisted of French onion soup, chicken tenders, and a Reuben sandwich. The waitress was horrible. She preferred to spend her time talking with the guys at the bar as opposed to waiting on her tables. I had to go inside to get my check, and when I went to hand it back to her with my credit card, she all of a sudden had to go outside to check on her table. She ignored that I was handing her my credit card, and left me waiting at the bar. She returned from outside, rang out my purchase, and continued talking to the guys. When I handed her back the signed receipt complete with a tip over 20% because I'm sympathetic to the times even though she was the worst, she didn't even acknowledge our patronage with a simple thank you. She kept right on talking to the other customers and ignored me completely. Rude, and terrible at her job, unless that job only entails chatting with select customers.
Normally, the servers at Emeralds are attentive and outstanding. This was clearly a college kid home for the summer.

Unfortunately they were short staffed with no bartender. Although our server was doing her best it was substandard. We waited 25 minutes for drinks and were never served our soup,salad and rolls. Although my filet was tender and cooked perfectly it was served to me with drizzled with a broken, tasteless hollandaise (that looked similar to baby poo) instead of the bernaise. The pilaf was dry and bland and everything (including the carrots were cold. My friends meal was also very disappointing. The NY strip was overdone and very tough and the pasta was overcooked,, dry and tasteless as well. I'd also like to point out that 3 tables that arrived at least 15 minutes after us were served first. It was definitely a waste of 2 1/2 hours.

Horrible experience here. We came in at 1:45pm on a Wednesday and after a few minutes our waitress, Amber, took our order but gave no indication that there would be any delay. We ordered a salad, sandwich and chicken tenders and we’re not served for almost an HOUR. Nothing open on a Wednesday so went to HoP. Thought we were going to get stuck with a NY pie, but was glad to see a full menu. We ordered a couple of baked dinners and side salads. Salads were very large and well done. The eggplant and ziti were lacking flavor so we doused them in parm cheese, oregano and red pepper. Good service and relatively fast kitchen. The woman were not rude and were ready to help me with my order (did not know what ricotta was until they told me)The delivery was about 45 minutes to an hour so just go work out or some thing (relax) The delivery guys were cool and friendly I enjoyed the experience.
Would recommend for group gatherings like football Sunda and all sports and see if they offer catering.

We decided on a unique venue for our wedding: a small, private island in upstate New York, and with just 6 months to plan the big day, I was very worried whether I'd be able to find a caterer on such short notice - not to mention one who could also tackle all of the logistical challenges of working somewhere only accessible by boat. Luckily, The Knot connected me with Bodette's BBQ, and I was pleasantly surprised to see all the positive reviews for Bodette's from his past clients online. I actually went so far as to message some of them on Facebook to verify they were "real" reviews (sorry, Joe!) and not long after, my inbox was flooded with replies from couples wanting to convince us that we MUST hire Bodette's for our big day. And now we are among them too. Joe had just 15 minutes to get his food, equipment, supplies, and four employees loaded and unloaded to the pontoon boat and set up before our ceremony began. They pulled it off quickly, quietly, and the food was amazing. We had about 62 people and chose to have the food served family style: BBQ chicken thighs, pulled pork, brisket, mac n cheese, broccoli bacon salad, roasted vegetables, and rosemary potatoes. Everything was outstanding. Our guests loved being able to try a little of everything, and Joe also provided a variety of seriously amazing BBQ sauces (Joe, please start bottling & selling these!). They took care of all the disposable dinnerware for our guests, brought lovely china serving dishes, cleaned up quickly, and left us mass amounts of neatly labeled leftovers that were gobbled up by guests at two family gatherings that weekend. We cannot recommend Bodette's BBQ highly enough. The experience was effortless with Joe, who was thorough, responsive, and answered all of my many questions. The peace of mind knowing that he was ready for whatever we threw at him was priceless. There are so many things we worry about the day of a wedding and so many things that can go wrong. Found the service less than cheerful, brisket and pulled pork were good enough, just not something we'd seek out again. Well cooked, just under seasoned. Beans were very good.
This review would have been a 4 except the bathroom needs better maintenance. It wasn't good, and I'm being polite. All restaurants should realize that if customers see that, they wonder what they can't see.
On the positive side, there's a large variety of candy for sale.

I live in Vermont and I sometimes shop at the Walmart across the street and Every time we stop at subway because it’s the best one we’ve been to since subway was good. We’re originally from FL and stopped going there because they’ve all went down hill. But lack of chain restaurants up here we tried it and it was so good, everything was made perfectly and everytime since including tonight was so good. We’ve tried a couple others in Vt but apparently no one reads how you want the sandwich made. This location though has been perfect everytime and I felt like I had to post something because I know most only do reviews to complain and I just felt that these people need a Kudos.

Nous y étions déjà venu une première fois aussi pour le repas du midi du 23 juin 2023.

Repas du midi avec un excellent wifi!
Nous y étions le 23 juin 2023 pour notre repas du midi. Un 12 pouces steak et fromage à $12.19 pour un total de $13.17 avec taxe. Un Subway que nous vous recommandons en vous proposant six photos incluant le reçu de la transaction.

This place is ridiculous, they've always had horrible attitudes when I've gone in or picked up food but tonight really irritated and I'll never go there again. I have ordered online 4 times only once have I been able to just pick up my food without issue...every other time it's I don't have your order, there's no order, then eventually enough complaining it's yup we have it. Tonight after working an extremely long day I was just starving and not wanting to cook I put in an order at 415 for a protein bowl, my husband went to pick it up and arrived early. They notified my husband that there was no order for me, I called they said well if he was early maybe we just didn't get it yet...okay. Well then he goes back after errands AN HOUR later and it's we don't have that order. I call...the employee says we never got the order...I responded I got confirmation and it was taken out of my account and instead of im so sorry or trying to rectify the situation it was nope don't have the order, I can't do anything for you and eventually the money will go back on your account. Rude, inconsiderate and maybe they shouldn't use a online order placing program if it's not gonna work. Was ridiculous...

Typically, when we visit here, the workers are friendly and outgoing. There are a couple of workers who know what we want when we walk in. Though we are not frequent for ordering food out, the couple of workers still remember our usual order. They are very proficient and always a pleasure to see upon entering the store. Also, the couple of workers that I am referring to have excellent customer service every time. Never an unwelcoming vibe. Always a laugh and fun conversation with each other.

Smaller location then you would expect for a Subway, but it gets the job done. Sandwiches are made well and seem to be fresh. Never had an issue with staff, always nice and treat us well. Never look at the kids crazy when they ask for weird things on their sandwich. Smaller inside, so plan on taking food with you. But good spot for being in Ti.

We had a great experience at Paper & Pencil! The renovation's and atmosphere in this restaurant is amazing... very upscale in Ticonderoga!! It does have an outdoor seating area that would be great in the spring and summer... unfortunately it was raining the day of our visit. It is a farm to table restaurant, supporting local farmers!! The drink and cocktail menu was unique, both drinks we got were fantastic. The food was excellent, large portions. We got the fried chicken and crab cakes, unique parings and sides accompanied the meal. Overall we had an excellent experience. 10/10 recommend.

What an amazing dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of character, the kind of place that feels both elevated and comfortable.
We started with the appetizer (pictured first), perfectly cooked shrimp tossed in a flavorful sauce and topped with just the right amount of crumbled cheese. It was light, rich, and packed with flavor, a great way to kick things off.
For the main course, the fried chicken (second photo) was absolutely incredible, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and served with creamy mashed potatoes and roasted carrots that tied everything together. Comfort food done right.
The pasta (third photo) was a standout, with fresh, perfectly cooked noodles coated in a vibrant house-made red sauce with plenty of Parmesan and fresh herbs. It definitely has a little kick to it, so make sure you enjoy spicy dishes, but if you do, you will absolutely love it.
Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and every dish came out beautifully plated and full of flavor. You can tell there is real pride and craft in the kitchen here. We ate at the bar and Connor was awesome! Great drinks, super friendly and made great recommendations!
Highly recommend this spot, whether you are in the mood for a cozy date night, a special dinner with friends, or just want to enjoy amazing comfort food with a creative twist.

Hidden gem! Really great food, solid mixed drinks, and service was on top of it. Ordered cocktail shrimp, crab cakes, fresh vine salad, Mac n cheese made with smoked Gouda, a Shirley temple, hotty totty, and Knox’s Reserve…everything was incredible! Atmosphere is on point with nice tables, chairs, wine display, bar area and upper seating. Owner made all the right choices from decor to food…only thing that could have made this better? Be located in town, but it’s not always that easy. This place is a must stop if you’re anywhere within 50miles!!

If you plan to get food in Ticonderoga this is the place to go. Food was fantastic. Staff friendly and accommodating. Atmosphere was incredible and the restaurant is gorgeous. All different types of seating as well, from bar to bar room to mezzanine to outdoor seating. We will 100% be back!

Paper & Pencil was wonderful!
My wife and I spent three nights in Ticonderoga as part of a three week fall vacation that included a Canada and New England cruise from Quebec City to Boston. I chose Ticonderoga as one of our stops as I thought it would be a good location from which we could use as to drive to Stowe and other places in Vermont's Green Mountains; and then to Lake Placid and other places in the Adirondacks. Our plan was to see the fall colors and to visit several colonial historic sites in Massachusetts. The plan was good and we enjoyed the variety our road trips. But YIKES! We were shocked at the lack of restaurants (only a couple) in Ticonderoga and its disappointing condition. So, if you are thinking of visiting Ticonderoga, I suggest you do nothing more than a few hour visit.
That being said, we found Paper & Pencil which is new upscale restaurant that is located a couple minutes outside of the dismal and decrepit Ticonderoga downtown. It is located in an new and excellent modern stand alone building that was once the site of an 1820s furniture factory which seems to be the best location in Ticonderoga.
The food was very good and priced very competitively with similar restaurants outside of big cities. We were there on a Sunday evening and while thankful for it being opened, the wait staff was limited so our waitress appeared to be a bit challenged going from here to there.
All in all we gave this restaurant 5 stars and hope everyone that reads this gives Paper & Pencil a visit as it needs everyone's support to keep it as the by far the best restaurant in Ticonderoga and probably within 150 miles or more.

They are usually not open Mondays, but we're open for eclipse business. Lucky for us, since we were hunting for food on our way back from viewing the event. They do mostly versions of hand food. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwich, etc. They also do a few meals. This day the meals were mac and cheese, and scallop potatoes with cubed ham. Came in for lunch while visiting from New Jersey. The owner and staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied. The food was delicious and portioned just right. Also, as mentioned, the staff was exceptionally friendly and kind. We will be returning the next time we are in the Adirondack’s.

We had a fantastic time here during Trekonderoga! The food and service were both outstanding — the staff was super helpful and friendly and the food was SO GOOD! Our party included vegetarians, meat & potatoes types, and picky children, and everybody was equally well fed and happy! Shout out especially for the fresh vegetable sandwich, made with whatever veggies are featured that day and so crunchy and tasty. I wish I lived in Ticonderoga to be able to come here all the time — it’s really a treat.

If you’re looking for solid bar fare foods but made fresh with quality and passion then 802 Longshots is where to go.
We ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger, fresh cut fries and a Buffalo chicken salad. Everything was outstanding in a simplistic way. Hearing owners Stacy and Kendall’s story only added to charm and experience of this up and coming spot.
If you’re visiting you’ll be told about the usual recommendations or via Google, but don’t sleep on 802 as they raise the bar with their quality and excellence to serve fresh and tasty food with a smile.
