I’ve been coming to the Kite for 2 years now and I have proudly stated that this is my favourite restaurant due to my gluten free and vegetarian dietary needs. I have always been able to access their allergen menu online and had an allergen menu within the restaurant but as of today, both those items are no longer available which is very disappointing. Normally I would have the delicious vegetarian burger (GF) and any of the wonderful GF starter creations / breads the chef normally has available. Today, I was told the burger had been taken off the menu and the server (who was lovely) had to list every item that could be GF free which was hard for me to remember and I felt awkward for her reciting it! I ordered the pumpkin gnocchi which was slightly above warm and did not have the consistency of gnocchi and a side of fries (one was made non GF which was kindly rectified). There are roughly 20 people enjoying the women's match and we were shocked. After we asked to get two of the TV tune back to women's football, he turn up the volume for the Arsenal match so that we couldn't hear anything from the World Cup match. I found it very silly and disrespectful, we are just trying to support our national football team in a small corner of the pub and we can't even watch football without some toxic attitude from the manager. We asked very nicely twice for them to turn down the volume (didn't even ask him to turn on the women's audio, but just less Arsenal audio on our side) he then said " Oh I am very sorry" walked into the back room and turn the volume up even more so all we could hear is Arsenal blasting in our ears. The Venue looks tiny from the outside but as soon as you walk up the stairs and enter the double doors you are all of a sudden in a room with around 150 people inside with plenty more room The music they were playing were top notch, multiple different bands were playing from around 7pm to around midnight, they were all great and performed like legit rockstars. The sauce was just coloured water. Carrilleras is one of my favourite dishes, and this failed attempt was very poor. So, let's have a look now at the Spanish omelette, it really needs special attention, A&E attention. It really needs an infusion of life, as it was stale, dry and probably made the day before. Tesco has a better one from the shelf, so you can imagine my reaction. It was criminal, no sugar coating here.
