Parque Terra Nostra, located in Furnas Valley, is a historic garden and botanical paradise dating back to 1775. The park is renowned for its picturesque landscapes and thermal baths, offering visitors a serene and rejuvenating experience. The lush greenery and expansive grounds make it easy to lose yourself in the natural beauty of the surroundings. The park also features a small lake with a cave where visitors can sit back and marvel at the wonders of nature.
A Truly Magical Experience at Terra Nostra Garden Visiting Terra Nostra Garden was one of the highlights of my trip to the Azores. The garden is absolutely stunning – a perfect blend of natural beauty, botanical diversity, and peaceful ambiance. Every path leads to a new discovery, whether it's a centuries-old tree, a quiet pond, or a vibrant collection of flowers from around the world. The thermal pool is a unique experience on its own. The warm, iron-rich waters are incredibly relaxing and surrounded by lush greenery, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. The facilities are well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Jin K — Google review
Very bad experience at Terra Nostra. Almost €35 for two people for such mediocre services—I've never seen anything like it anywhere else. We arrived in the early afternoon after ordering two “1-day” tickets online. Why can't you buy tickets for just half a day? Then we took a tour of the park, which is indeed magnificent. We decided to finish with the baths. That's when our afternoon turned into a real disappointment (we had driven almost an hour for this...). It was impossible to unlock the lockers in the changing rooms, if you can call them that, as there were no cubicles or privacy, so you had to change in front of everyone. We tried for a long time with our two phones. We decided to give up so we could still have time to bathe, leaving our belongings to one side, and then, surprise... we were told that the park was closing at 4:30 p.m. Why wasn't this mentioned in the reservation summary email or on the tickets? So we weren't able to enjoy the baths. In conclusion, give this place a miss. They try to be fancy, but the quality of service doesn't match. There are other baths that are much cheaper, much prettier, and have longer opening hours, such as Caldeira Velha, which we went to the next day and which are much more worthwhile.
Fanny C — Google review
Botanical lush gardens and amazing iron rich hot pools. We luckily arrived early to enjoy the hot pools. It was a magical experience. Everything was heavenly apart from the locker awful system they have that costs 5€ and depends on your phone being sufficiently charged:-( the changing rooms were not comfortable and the shower was cold which was odd considering the high temperatures of the hotspring pools. That said, I would clearly recommend and come back.
Elsa H — Google review
The garden is layed up very smart in different sections with themes. Views, atmosphere and the feeling in park is great. Remember to reserve enough time as the park is not small and to see all some distance needs to be walked. Additional time is needed for the thermal bath that is included in the entrance fee. The one central pool is just ca. 1 m deep. Water temperature is pleasant around 35 C degrees. Lockers for clothes cost 5€ extra and the reservation/payment system is a catastrophe.
Erkki S — Google review
Beautiful place with nice thermal pools and a lush garden of exotic species. If you book tickets in advance and come to the park having already put your swimsuit on (and swimming shoes), you will save extra time as you won't need to go through the changing rooms. You can get changed and store your stuff under one of the benches surrounding the main pool. Don't forget to take a shower before and after bathing. The little pools near the main pool are smaller but cozier, with the water being much warmer. I would recommend those over the main pool. Don't forget to take a small bag to store your wet swimsuit and towel. The park has all the necessary amenities, such as showers, toilets and lockers. After the bath, you can stroll around the park. I would recommend taking a picture of the map at the entrance so that you can follow it closely when visiting the gardens and not miss anything. Enjoy!
Lucas O — Google review
October low season was a perfect time to visit, with plenty of room in the thermal pools. We didn't find the main thermal pool to be that warm, and opted to use the smaller pools, which was significantly warmer. The overall park was truly a sight. I'm sure even more beautiful in the summer months, when the flowers are in bloom. Parking: There is no parking past the gate. Find free parking on the streets. Fees: Entry fee and locker fee. Change Room + Locker: 5 Euro for the QR activated lockers. I was worried after reading all of the reviews of people having so much trouble with paying online. I had data service, so I had no issues paying online and receiving my locker code. You need your phone with you to open and close the locker. So you'll have to keep an eye on your belongings when you go to the pools. I watched as a group of girls attempted to pick-pocket my jacket that was hanging with my towel. There are also no private change rooms in the women's locker. There is a shower area and toilet stalls (where people ended up changing in).
Adrienne T — Google review
Beautiful botanical gardens, not busy when we were there in November. Pools we're ok, big pool wasn't as hot as I'd like and the hot outlet is the busy soot. good change rooms.
Kevin ( — Google review
The park is beautiful and an easy walk. We got to swim in the pool and it was amazing. The water was warm and the bottom of the pool is smooth and clean, so shoes weren’t necessary. There is a locker/changing room but it’s all open unless you go to the other side and change in the bathroom stalls. There’s a little food trailer in the park that has some killers pastéis de bacalhau for 4,50€.

Miradouro do Pico do Ferro is a must-see viewpoint on Sao Miguel, offering stunning views of the city of Furnas and the large Furnas Lake with its bubbling hot springs. The overlook is well-maintained and provides panoramic vistas even on foggy days. Visitors can drive up to the viewpoint or take a challenging hike from Lagoa das Furnas. The view from the top is described as breathtaking, resembling a scene from a fantasy movie.
island of São Miguel. When there’s no fog, you’ll have a stunning view of the lake and its surroundings. It’s also nice to visit the village of Furnas, located in the crater, and stroll through its narrow streets.

Amazing Views and plants with flowers at Pico do Ferro! 🌺🌸 I visited Miradouro do Pico do Ferro on May 20th, and wow, what a view! If you're on São Miguel, you really have to go here. From up high, you get to see so much. When I was there, the rhododendrons were beautiful, bursting with color and making the whole place look even prettier. But the best part is definitely the awesome view of Furnas Lake way down below. It's so peaceful and just stretches out wonderfully. This spot isn't just pretty; it's also super important! The whole area, especially the Furnas volcano crater, is a very important part of the Azores UNESCO Global Geopark. So, you're not just seeing a nice view, you're standing in a special place recognized worldwide for its nature. It's a must-see for everyone!
Andra T — Google review
One of the most beautiful viewpoints on the entire island. Access is very easy by car, you can park below or go up to the viewpoint. You can see the people, the forest and the nearby towns. There is a souvenir shop in the parking lot below. Up at the viewpoint there are some benches for viewing the view and some benches. There are no toilets.
Dor S — Google review
Amazing view on the Furnas lake and the sorounding valley. Parking is free of charge, and the viewpoint is worth visiting.
Marko I — Google review
Beautiful lookout over the town of Furnas and lakes of Furnas. We parked in the lower parking lot. It is a short walk up to the lookout. No need to really drive up unless you have mobility concerns. Several look out spots. It is truly breath taking! Must see and must stop.
D S — Google review
Beautiful viewpoint with cute little souvenir shop. Steep incline but short walk up from parking lot.

Amazing views if you pick a day without cloud
Keith — Google review
This is one of the bigger and more interesting viewpoints from where you have a beautiful view of Furnas Lake and the surrounding area. There are two parking lots, but it is forbidden to enter one. The whole place looks renovated and well maintained.

Nestled in the heart of a volcanic landscape, the Centro de Interpretação Ambiental das Furnas offers an engaging experience for nature lovers and curious travelers alike. As you stroll along the scenic lakeside path, you'll encounter captivating wooden sculptures that enhance your journey. The center features a fascinating 15-minute film showcasing local voices discussing the island's geothermal activity and hot springs, providing valuable insights into this unique environment.
Incredible. Hugo was an effusive and enthusiastic guide and I learned more during our visit than I did in Geography lessons at school. Worth way more than the €5 entry fee for families.

Fantastic stop on the way to Furnas. I think it might be best to see this before you go into Furnas for some history. The displays are first class explaining how the islands were formed. There are display about the flora, animals and life around the volcano. The staff is outstanding. We were shown around by the desk attendant and she ensured the movie was set up for us. It was well worth it. Watch the movie! We also had a complimentary tea when we had finished. There is a parking lot next to the museum but you can also park just off the main road and walk in which is my suggestion. The improved walkway goes by the lake, the gardens and the church. It takes about 12 minutes to walk each way.
Teresa B — Google review
This center is worth the tour (fee) to learn about the geological history of the Azores, and then the more specific history and current state of this Caldera. Our tour guide was superb. His English skills were fluent and he was able to effectively and passionately explain the project to improve the water quality of the lake. There is a number of exhibits as well as several videos. I would highly recommend this before you go to the city of Furnas to give you some context The interpretation center has restrooms and is roughly 1 km from the parking area along a pretty cobblestone road that has very little traffic
Mark W — Google review
Small science museum explaining the formation of the Azores and volcanism. We only had 25 minutes before a booking at the Furnas thermal baths so missed one of the films in n show. The lady on the front desk was super helpful and said we could come back the following day for free. Fantastic service and a beautiful building in amazing scenery.

Don’t hesitate to jump in. For a fee of just 3€, that fund the works and research about cleaning activities of the lagoons water, you get a very nice exposition about the geology of the location, with a guide that will highlight you the most important points about the place. It includes geologic history and human history about the island occupation and Furnas village in particular. Do visit the center before go to Furnas village, so you will better understand what you will see there. You even get a free hand made drink at the end. Staff is great and the information you receive there very valuable.

Our group was so impressed with this center. The staff was so helpful and informative and helped us to understand this precious area and island!

We weren’t planning on stopping here, but did and it was totally worth it! The centre is cery interesting and has very informative exhibits. Well done to the staff for being the nicest and kindest people. I have never met anyone doing similar jobs being that excited and helpful! 👏

Such a cool place to learn about Furnas and the island of São Miguel! Well worth the 3€ entrance. The people working there were so knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and appreciated the free tea at the end and the workers answering all our questions and sharing their knowledge about their land

Hiking Trails
Cascata do Salto do Prego, also known as Salto do Prego e Sanguinho, is a stunning 4.5 km circular trail in Faial da Terra on Sao Miguel island. The trail leads to the impressive Salto do Prego waterfall where you can take a refreshing dip in the icy water and make a detour to another waterfall called Salto do Cagarrao.
Easy but beautiful trail to a fantastic waterfall. If you bring a swim suit, you could manage a little swim here. The water is very clean and clear. Be careful with the rocks though. It was not as cold as it may look (warm day, end of May). Don't forget to also walk 2 minutes up to see the origin of the waterfall. Up there was a gorgeous valley with lots of peace and quiet. If you bring cash, there is a little café near the end of the trail - or start, if you walk the trail backwards. Very nice way to finish off your walk. If you come to Sao Miguel for nature, then this trail is an absolute must. Depending on your speed, it could take 2 hours or something. There is also a way to extend it.
Ramon — Google review
Easy and quick walk to the waterfall which is very pristine. I wish I brought my bikinis for a dip. There are many hens on the trail and they sometimes follow us along. You can walk in and out on the same route but I'd recommend doing the loop following the sign that says Bar & WC which is a great place for some refreshments, homemade bakes, and a lovely view of the valley.
Qwan S — Google review
The trail is a bit demanding, but manageable for most people. Trekking shoes are recommended as it can get muddy in some parts. At the end, you reach a beautiful waterfall where you can even take a refreshing swim. A great experience overall!
Zuzin Z — Google review
OAP, dodgy knees, and walked in trainers. What a wonderful way to spend a few hours hiking this trail. From the bird song, the smell of the Himalyan ginger to the magical waterfall it was bliss. Yes, a bit muddy in places and a few slips and slides but nothing to scary. Not sure if there was as much water though.
Susan S — Google review
Difficult to find. Don't rely on Google maps. Go the the village, pass the bus stop to the bottom and park. This was our favorite trail. Definitely should wear hiking shoes or sneakers. Beautiful waterfall.
Pat F — Google review
Very easy hike, aprox. 2 kilometers in one direction, it takes 30 - 45 minutes in one direction. You can park the car at the end of the village, before the trail starts. At the end of the hike there is a beautiful waterfall, you can also go in the water at the waterfall. Please don't wear sandals for the hike, there are rocks, dirt and some parts are slippery. I would recommend hiking shoes. The hike is suitable also for people who are not tge most experienced hikers. Also I saw many hens and roosters on the hike, they are not afraid of the people. You walk on the same path, when you go to the waterfall, and back to the village. It is not a round hike, with different paths.
Marko I — Google review
Great hike, just over three miles if you make it a loop through the ghost village (and you should!). The trail is in good condition, and has some elevation
Will P — Google review
Cascata do Salto do Prego is one of the highlights to visit on the island. A wonderful waterfall and a beautiful, comfortable hike to it. We parked at Trilho do Sanguinho. There is small parking lot and some street parking here. The waterfall is well signed post and the trail well marked. The hike is somewhat strenuous but very manageable if in good health and mobility. Keep an eye and ear out for the wild chicken. Very fun to come across chickens on the trail! Once at the waterfall, take it all in. You can swim in the water around it. Mostly pebbles and some sand. Can do it barefoot. On the way back, we went via the abandoned village of Sanguinho. Great hike back, with a bar to stop at (in the abandoned village) for refreshments and to take in the views! Round trip can easily be done in a couple hours. Well worth it and highly recommended!

Mata Jardim José do Canto is a picturesque garden located on the south bank of Furnas Lake. The 10-hectare garden features well-marked walking paths, a tranquil stream, and numerous seating areas for visitors to relax and take in the natural beauty. One of the main attractions is the Salto do Rosal waterfall, which can be reached via a 3km path that is moderately challenging in some sections.
A very nice park with multiple parts, you can see an old church / chappel, a garden, a very big sequoia tree and one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the island. The entrance fee to the park was 5 eur. From the entrance to the waterfall you walk aprox. 30-40 minutes.
Marko I — Google review
6 ⭐s! One would say the most expensive (5€) hike to a random waterfall, I'd say the cheapest ticket to the most serene corner of the island. At 10am two kids and I were the only tourists (and humans) in the park. Yes, in the middle of July 😳. Sequoia trees, magnificent waterfall, birds, a cow or two and above all peace. One of the highlights of our trip
Zoran V — Google review
A lovely place located in a small park. There is parking nearby, and after a short walk you can reach this beautiful spot with a charming chapel and great views.
Zuzin Z — Google review
Too beautiful and exotic to miss. With a chapel, lake, waterfall, and numerous paths leading into a dense forest of palm trees and redwoods, you'll experience a jungle adventure from another continent. An incredible piece of greenery on the island!
Lucca T — Google review
Here you get the whole package for 5 €, although some experiences are priceless. A very large area with paths and signs showing the way to the waterfall, surrounded by unspoiled nature. However, there is much more to explore in this area.
PDSOTMF — Google review
Very underrated. We didn't know about the place when we went to see the lake but we passed by and figured we have a look and we were very pleasantly surprised. The garden is quite large and contains multiple attractions. Super recommended if you plan to visit this side of the island.
Arnas R — Google review
The waterfall is really beautiful – but the rest of the experience was not great. We were told the park closes at 6:00 PM, so we returned to the gate at 5:45 PM. But there was no one there and we were locked in. To make it worse, it was pouring rain. We were completely soaked and had no way out. Luckily, we had picked up a flyer for the chapel with a phone number on it. We called and were told someone would come. It took 30 minutes standing in heavy rain before anyone showed up. When they finally arrived, we only got a vague excuse and a half-hearted apology. No real help, no concern. We were dripping wet and very disappointed. The waterfall is nice – but getting locked in during heavy rain and being treated like that really ruined the visit.
M — Google review
A combined park of a few smaller areas. You have to pay for a ticket to see Salto do Rosal too as it’s a part of the gardens. Really beautiful and calm too. Not many people come in and you have most of the place to yourself completely. A great way to experience the Azores nature. Beautiful tree ferns, sequoias, flowers and plants all around. A must see!

Park
Parque da Grená, located in Sao Miguel, is a stunning nature park with five kilometers of paths through an 18-hectare wooded area. The park offers a variety of activities such as canoeing, biking, and family strolls amidst diverse plant life and incredible landscapes with historical significance. Visitors can explore the Salto da Inglensa waterfall at the top of the slope and climb 633 steps to reach a viewpoint overlooking the waterfall and valley.
A wonderful trip, it truly feels like stepping into Jurassic Park. The entire route is flawlessly prepared, with walkways, staircases, and clearly marked paths. The climb to the final waterfall is quite challenging (600 steps), but it’s manageable for adults. The area is well-developed, yet it still retains the soul and raw beauty of the place. There is also the option to relax in a jacuzzi or soak in warm water tubs located on-site.
Szymon S — Google review
It is a wonderful place - must see! 10 EUR per person for entrance - worth it! The park is more hiking then just walking but the trails are very well prepared. The main waterfall may not have as much water falling but the views and nature surrounding it compensate it fully. You can swim in waterfall pond number 6 - beware water far from hot, it’s probably around 15’ Celsius (good change vs. Hot baths in the bottom of the park). If you prefer not to take the full trail and focus around waterfalls and canyon itself - which is enough due to over 600 steps to the main waterfall you can cut the trail down to north side following points 1, 2, and 6 on the way down to experience it fully.
Maciej K — Google review
At first we were surprised that entering the park required a fee. By the time we finished our visit, we felt the payment was absolutely worth it. The park is very well maintained, easy to walk and navigate, with many interesting spots, and you can easily spend two hours there. At the end of the trail, a surprise was waiting for us, we discovered two hot tubs for 2–4 people with a changing room, perfect!
Adir A — Google review
One of the best parks I’ve ever visited. Many things to do and see. You may spend the whole day and still need more time. The place is really amazing and breathtaking. Highly recommended and worth the time, trip and tickets.
Mohammad A — Google review
Amazing nature, and so much work made inside the park that it probably costs its 10€. We really enjoyed it, the most beautiful place on Sao Miguel for me. but the staff was quite unfriendly
Anna E — Google review
Amazing park, you must visit. The entrance fee per adults was 10 eur. The ticket machine wasn't working at the time of my visit to the park. So I bought a ticket at the near bar. In the park you have a lot to see, also you can walk in a circular path. There are different waterfalls, tons of greenery, also you can see live animals (rabbits, pigs, etc.). I recommend walking shoes, since you will have to walk all the time on the forest terrain and some parts can get pretty steepy very fast.
Marko I — Google review
A beautiful and refreshing nature escape Parque de Greta is a must-visit for nature lovers. The park offers a variety of scenic hiking trails where you can explore lush forests, walk alongside rivers, and discover stunning waterfalls tucked into the landscape. It’s a peaceful and immersive experience—perfect for a half-day adventure. Walking under the tree canopy and listening to the sound of running water makes you feel completely connected to nature. Everything is well maintained, and the views are just magical. The only downside was the woman at the bar near the ticket area, who was unexpectedly rude and unwelcoming. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it was a sharp contrast to the overall warmth of the park itself. Still, the natural beauty more than makes up for it. Highly recommended!
Joaquin A — Google review
Don’t visit these coming days - they are burning wet wood to clear a path after a landslide. The park is full of thick unhealthy smoke. Our clothes smell horribly and we are still coughing.

You can find viewpoints with better views in Santa Maria but this one is well maintained. From here you can see São Lourenço and I would recommend to go down the road and stop by the village. You can also go to the beach there and get some rest. The road has a 10% slope so it will be easy to go down but the other way around make sure your car can handle it

Casa Invertida, also known as the upside-down house or tilted house, is a quirky and interesting sight located in the center of Furnas. Despite being an actual power station, it seamlessly blends in with the surrounding normal houses. Visitors find it amusing to walk under the structure and feel the weight of the material above their heads. While some recommend viewing it from a distance rather than up close, others suggest stopping by if you're already in Furnas.
If you go visit the Poça Dona Beija you must to pass here. Is a nice spot to take a picture because is on the middle of other houses.

Great looking bizzare house that really strikes your eyes as you wander nearby. It is especially interesting to walk tight under the house as you feel the weight of the material above your head. Looks even better from a distance than close-up! Would definitely recommend to visit.

Visiting the hot geysers in the Azores was an unforgettable experience! The sight of the steam rising from the earth, surrounded by lush greenery, feels almost otherworldly. The natural beauty of the area combined with the unique geothermal activity creates a truly mesmerizing atmosphere. You can even feel the warmth from the geysers as you walk around, adding to the magic of the experience. It’s a perfect spot for nature lovers and anyone looking to explore something different. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the Azores!

Super fun, small museum about micro-organisms! Admission is €2.50 for adults, €1.50 for seniors and students, and free for people with disabilities. Payment is cash only. Despite my background in studying micro-organisms, I still learned some new things. The museum is interesting for both adults and children. There are all sorts of interactive features, such as a VR headset that lets you explore the inside of a bacterium, and various touchscreens and iPads with fun information and games. We spent about half an hour to forty-five minutes there and really read and tried everything. If you move through a bit faster, you’ll probably be done sooner. At the end, I bought a cool bag with the text: “You can’t B.cereus!” – highly recommended! The staff were also very friendly. They even prepared a new microscope slide just for us, so we could get an even better look at the bacteria!

Intriguing place! I really like that this place is very well preserved. There's a nice park around where you can enjoy ice cream while watching the water boiling. Occasionally a bit smelly but still very cool place!
Esa A — Google review
Small science research center which has a lot of information on bacteria and micro organisms that live in the hot springs. Cost €1.50 per adult to go into the science centre. We had a guided tour from one of the researchers for free which was fascinating and then got to have a look around the rest of the exhibit. It's only small but really interesting and the guide was very engaging. Definitely worth the €1.50 go inside.

Great stop to see natural hot springs in action. The museum was closed when we were there but a walk around the springs which are free to tour, are worth the stop.

Unbelievable experience. Seeing nature and beauty. Mineral waters throughout and even a little snack place with corn on the cob that is boiled in the waters.

We accidentally entered and found a wonderful employee who directed us to everything we could see, and also told us a lot of useful information about the place and the surrounding area. The material on display is interesting for the whole family.
Kristina C — Google review
A little information centre, great for kids and adults alike with helpful staff eager to educate and entertain you with stories about the microbial world in your body and its links to primordial prehistory.

(Translated by Google) Attention Spaniards 🇪🇸👇🏻 ✅ Positive aspects: It's right in the center of Furnas and is one of those churches that, without being very touristy, is well worth a stop. It has a white facade with dark stone details that make it very photogenic, and inside it's much larger than it appears from the outside. It's very peaceful, with beautiful stained-glass windows and hidden corners like the baptismal area or the confessionals embedded in the wall. If you're around the lake or strolling through the center, this is a stop that adds a lot to your visit. ❌ Negative aspects: It's not always open, so you may only see it from the outside. Also, it's not very well signposted, so if you don't go looking for it, you might not even realize it's there. 🌐 Overall rating: A very beautiful church that adds a unique touch to your walk through Furnas. It doesn't take long to see and is worth stopping for a few minutes if you're in the area.

Lookouts
Miradouro do Salto do Cavalo is a hidden gem, offering a serene and solitary experience even during peak tourist season. Situated at an altitude of over 700 meters on the northern edge of the Furnas caldera, it provides breathtaking panoramic views of the Povoacao valley, the seven lombas, and the Furnas valley with its lagoon. The lush greenery and stunning vistas make it a must-visit spot for nature lovers.
From north to south, take one of many interesting routes with views worth stopping for. First contact from the distance Lagoa do Furnas, evergreen hills, forests and the ocean in the distance. We were heading to Miradouro do Pico dos Bodes to slowly discover that part of the island. Beware of less popular mountain roads, which after heavy rainfall may become impassable, partially blocked or simply pose a risk of landslides.

Breathtaking views down on the town of Furnas and the Lagoa das Furnas. A must see stop if travelling through the interior of the island. Small parking lot but plenty of room as people come and go for the view, and a 15 second walk to the lookout of the lake and town of Furnas. Stunning.
D S — Google review
Great view over Furnas and Vila da Povoação. Great view of the south and north cost of S. Miguel and to see how the weather can be so different just a few kms away
Paulo N — Google review
Amazing views of both Povoação and Furnas. The roads to this lookout are narrow and winding, with the road coming from EN 2-1A being well paved, but the back road down into Povoação (M1042 & M525) is in pretty tough shape with many pot holes and loose gravel. Worth every white-knuckled moment though. I highly recommend renting a car or motorcycle if you are so inclined and making this trip. We went in the morning and the visibility was excellent.

Beach
Praia do Fogo, also known as Ribeira Quente, is a unique beach located in the fishing city of Ribeira Quente in the Azores, Portugal. It is renowned for its underwater thermal vents that occasionally cause the water to bubble with warm bursts from volcanic sources below. The beach offers a serene setting surrounded by tree-covered mountains, making it perfect for picnics and leisurely days.
A peaceful beach with warmer water thanks to nearby thermal springs surfacing in the bay. The area is quiet and clean, with sun umbrellas, a lifeguard on duty, and a fast food spot close by. There's also a clean public restroom with a changing area. The sand is soft, clean, and free of shells or seaweed — perfect for a relaxing day by the sea.
Oana — Google review
This is a beautiful sandy beach located right next to a large parking lot, which makes access very easy. There are free public toilets and showers available, as well as a snack bar for refreshments. When we visited on a weekday in May, the beach was almost empty, so it felt very peaceful and spacious. The beach itself is quite large, so don’t worry about finding a spot to relax. The sea was a bit cold, but still refreshing. One thing to note: the black sand gets extremely hot under the sun—so hot that it’s almost impossible to stand on it barefoot!
Petr W — Google review
What a beautiful beach! Beach umbrellas free to use (get there early!) great sand beach, warm ocean (Sept 14, 2025), bar and restaurant on site, and an ice cream truck....that sells beer! What more could you want??? It's amazing.
