Lookouts
The Belvedere Lookout offers breathtaking panoramic views of Moorea's mountains, bays, and lush agricultural fields. Situated just a short drive from the main road, it provides an ideal vantage point to admire Mont Rotui from the opposite side. For an even more stunning view, visitors can follow a trail behind the lookout for about 10 minutes to reach a picturesque grassy overlook.
We took the road from Opunahu bay which is paved the entire way and wide enough for two cars until as you start climbing. Be careful on the three or so switchbacks at the top. Parking at the top as well as a short walk down the hill. We went up shortly after sunrise and had the place to ourselves. There are no tickets to buy as this has no cost to enter or park.

Fantastic view from this lookout. Big enough carpark right by the viewpoint to park. Nice view north to the two bays. Worth the short drive up, you can also see some Marae's and the agricultural school whilst your are at it
Jarrod H — Google review
Free and totally worth a visit! There’s a parking area right at the top, and after just a few steps, you reach the viewpoint where you can see both bays — absolutely beautiful scenery. Easy access, well maintained, and a perfect photo spot.
Liah C — Google review
Wonderful lookout with amazing views. Fully capable of supporting big tour buses. On our tour (and I imagine most days) there were local vendors selling banana bread, breadfruit chips, and drinks. Highly recommend!!!
Alan B — Google review
Great view that you can drive to and park at. There is a stand where snacks are sold. Access to trails. Chickens and baby chicks were excellent.
Katrina G — Google review
Up, up and up a winding road, past beautiful pastures and into the trees that do give way to some pine trees. Parking was available when we arrived at 2pm. Greeted by a spectacular view of both Bays. Chickens and roosters are all part of the experience. A little food stand where everything is 500fr was a pleasant find, though the teens running it weren’t very pleasant, seemed to laugh at people and wanted to get back to their phones. A sad spiral for this culture. I digress. An absolute spectacle sight you shouldn’t miss!
BE E — Google review
Very much worth the walk and the 2 USD entry that you pay at the bottom of the trail. You can park in front of the multi sports building
Simon L — Google review
Amazing viewpoint! Really recommended, good to park your car and do the Three Pines trekking!

Mo'orea is a picturesque island known for its stunning mountains, beaches, and coves, as well as upscale resorts and dining options. Located just a short flight or ferry ride from Papeete, it's popular among international travelers seeking coastal beauty and adventure tours in the mountainous interior. The twin bays of Cook and Opunohu offer breathtaking views both from land and sea.
Moorea was the last one of three ports we visited in French Polynesia, the other two being Raiatea and Tahiti. For us, Moorea was the most beautiful. Crystal clear waters and lots to see. We didn't bother booking any excursions from the ship, preferring instead to do our own thing. We caught a taxi to the Belvedere viewpoint (USD $50 return) and then a boat trip to a small island, via a sandbank, where there were sting rays and sharks (USD $100 for two) - much cheaper than ship excursion rates and both booked from the sellers on the docks. The water was warm and beautiful. We just had a most wonderful day.....

Moorea, nestled in French Polynesia's embrace, captivates with its ethereal beauty. From the moment you set foot on its shores, you're enveloped in a tapestry of vibrant colors and enchanting scents. The island's lush, emerald-green peaks rise majestically against the azure sky, creating a mesmerizing backdrop for every adventure. Exploring Moorea is a journey of discovery, where every corner reveals a new wonder. Snorkelers and divers are drawn to its crystalline waters, teeming with marine life and coral gardens of unparalleled beauty. Landlubbers can hike through verdant valleys, where waterfalls cascade into secluded pools, offering moments of tranquil serenity. The island's rich Polynesian culture adds depth to every experience. Local villages welcome visitors with open arms, inviting them to partake in traditional dances, feasts, and crafts. Each encounter is a window into Moorea's soul, where warmth and hospitality reign supreme. Accommodations on Moorea range from luxurious overwater bungalows to cozy beachfront villas, ensuring every traveler finds their perfect oasis. Indulge in sumptuous cuisine infused with exotic flavors, crafted from the freshest local ingredients. In conclusion, Moorea is a paradise like no other, where nature's magnificence meets Polynesian charm. Whether seeking adventure or relaxation, this island gem offers an unforgettable escape into blissful paradise.

Aft 3 Polynesian Islands that we visited in 3 days, this was by far our favorite. It was not overly commercialized, nor overly primitive, and had some of the most spectacular water we've ever seen anywhere in the world. We took an island tour around the circumference, and it was a great way to see it all.
Norm Y — Google review
Must see island. I recommend renting a car and driving around the island.
RJ J — Google review
Loved the day we spent here! Truly an amazing tropical paradise that is a must visit! We did the whole island tour excursion from our cruise ship and honestly, it is probably the vest way to see the whole island. This was truly one of the best islands to visit in French Polynesia!
Blue T — Google review
A cruise ship tender port. The island appears picturesque and exotic - as I would expect Tahiti to be. We tendered to the wharf and from there, disappointment. We walked for miles and did not see anything warranting the effort. Very unfortunate when there is nothing of interest close by. Did not see a beach. Nothing.
Guy R — Google review
A fantastic day in Moorea I had an amazing experience touring Moorea with a 4WD tour that took me to some of the most beautiful and interesting places on the island. The tour started with a visit to a pineapple farm, where I learned about the different varieties of pineapples and how they are grown and harvested. The farm also had a stunning view of the Opunohu Bay and the mountains. Next, we went to a distillery that produces liqueurs and jams from local fruits. I tasted some of the products and bought some souvenirs to take home. The distillery also had a nice garden with tropical flowers and plants. The tour continued with a drive up to the Magic Mountain, a lookout point that offers a panoramic view of the island and the lagoon. It was breathtaking to see the turquoise water and the coral reefs from above. The guide explained some of the history and culture of Moorea and pointed out some landmarks. Then, we went down to the Belvedere Lookout, another scenic spot that overlooks the Cook’s Bay and the Rotui Mountain. There, we saw some ancient marae (Polynesian temples) that are part of the cultural heritage of Moorea. The last stop of the tour was at Faie, a village where we saw and fed the sacred blue-eyed eels that live in the river. The eels are considered to be guardians of the village and are very friendly to visitors. They came out of the water to eat pieces of fish that we gave them. It was a unique and fun experience to interact with these creatures. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see more than just the beaches of Moorea. It was a great way to discover the natural beauty, the cultural diversity, and the local flavors of this island paradise.

Island can get to from other island. Be prepared to rent a scooter or a bike as you cannot do much from the port. We didn't get bikes or rent a scooter so we walked a mile to this amazing little lagoon and spent the an hour and went back. Very nice.

Mountains
Magic Mountain Overlook offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Moorea's jungle-carpeted interior and the Opunohu Bay. It is considered to have the best view on the island, even surpassing the renowned Belvedere. The hike up to Magic Mountain is steep but rewarding, providing a 360-degree vista that visitors will remember. Some opt for an ATV tour to reach this point, while others challenge themselves with a hike or drive up in rental cars despite the rough terrain.
Absolutely stunning views. If you’re looking to do anything scenic, definitely choose this spot. We got to it with our ATV tour. You can independently hike to it but it is very long and steep, plan an hour or two. The final stretch getting up there is very steep too; we could only take our atvs so far. That said, glad it was a stop because damn 😍
Katelyn M — Google review
The best view in Moorea, much nicer than Belvedere! Bit steep to walk, I did not see much difference between the right and the left track. View is to die for!
Paulina R — Google review
The view was indeed magical. You can drive here and it is a short (but inclined) walk to the top.
Katrina G — Google review
When using google maps use the FARE TUTAVA SMOOTHIE After reading all of the reviews the biggest help was THE ADDRESS. When you type it into Google maps it takes you to a dead end. I remember seeing one review talking about the address. Thank goodness I did lol. MAKE SURE you type in Fare Tutava Smoothie. This is the gateway to the hike. You will have to pay 200 Francs (or US $2) per person to be allowed to go up the hike. There are two paths you can take. A longer and less inclined path, OR a shorter with a big incline. We decided to take the shorter, steep hike. The path up is less than a mile, it was about .85 miles up) and took us 30 minutes about. With a few stops along the way to catch our breath. The view is spectacular. All and all the whole trip was a little over an hour. Just because we tried taking in the views. I did see tour buses go up and ATVs, even with that you will have to do a very small hike that takes about 5 minutes if that. Husband and I backpacked the trip so we always had our backpacks with us. We paid the shop lady a little extra to safely hold our bags while we made the hike. Once you come down she will offer you a refreshing drink. Totally worth it after the hike and love supporting the local people. Great small hike and totally recommend it.
Jennifer L — Google review
Beautiful view of the island interior and lagoon. Definitely worth the trip. If you are hiking understand this is a steep difficult hike with no switch backs. If hiking is not your thing, several tour groups drive you most the way up during their tours. Either way definitely a good place to visit for a stunning view of Mo'orea.
Cory R — Google review
Give it a loose hour up, go before 9:30. It is 200 Francs at the entry (Fare Tutava smoothie place), park there. Pickups take you up if wish. Elevation approx 200m. The steeper road is shadier.
Zoltán G — Google review
Such a great view. We went up here as part of our ATV tour, and it was awesome. We met some people that hiked it, and some that took their rental car up! I definitely don't suggest taking a car up the path it's very steep and bumpy. Honestly I don't have a clue how they did it. The view is pretty incredible, We wanted to go back and hike up to watch the sunrise, but we were too lazy to get out of bed that early, but I'm sure it would be pretty epic.
Tron G — Google review
Recently did this hike during our last trip. This hike offers nice view while at the top and very much worth it if you love hiking. Its a very steep trek, but all paved, so if its raining, you should be ok. You have to pay 200 xpf per person at the take out restaurant at the beginning of the trail.

Tiki Village is a vibrant Tahitian cultural center and Polynesian village located in Moorea. It offers an immersive experience where visitors can learn about Polynesian culture, participate in local activities, and enjoy traditional island shows featuring famous vahine dancers. The village also provides the opportunity to visit the private motu of the Lagoonarium and observe sharks and rays in the Moorea lagoon.
We booked the show only, no dinner. We liked the performance, even 2yo stayed engaged and clapped at the loudest moments. The artists are genuine, good choreography, music, and entertaining. The whole experience is about an hour and they started 20 minutes late. Good value for the money considering how expensive everything is here. You also could get dinner, it looked pretty nice, buffet style, but too long for a baby. Shows on the other islands might be bigger but I liked this one as it was a perfect blend of intimate and professional.
Elena N — Google review
We recommend you pay a visit to the Tiki Village when you visit Mo’orea, both during the day to participate in a workshop or three and then again at night, for the dinner and show! There are several awesome options available to choose for the workshops, from making your own pareo to keep, a music lesson, traditional weaving amongst others. The guides are super friendly and take their time to explain the process - they were super understanding of my beginners French and were happy to accommodate me, as well as speaking English when I needed to 😊🙏 The organisation for the evening was great - starting with a welcome song from the musicians, followed by a welcome drink and the chance to walk around the illuminated village either with a guide or at your own pace before the show. They have interesting displays - traditional transport and Polynesian history, Gauguin tribute exhibition, tatau / tattoo history, plant display, weaving and costume. The Village also has a fantastic building out on the water, which turns into a beautifully illuminated floating bar / aperitif area before the show commences. The guests get to witness the unveiling of the traditional Tahitian oven - the ‘ahima’a - which you will later enjoy as part of the buffet dinner. A fantastic and large selection of both meat and vegetable dishes, cooked and raw (salad, sashimi, sushi, poisson cru), followed by local desserts is offered. Try one of everything if you can! There is plenty of time to eat before the show. The show itself consists of several parts, beginning with some demonstrations before dinner of local traditions - food, weaving, clothing, music themes. After dinner, you get to enjoy music, song, many dances, costumes and fire! The whole experience is very well-organised, accommodating of all and provides a great look into the culture here. Your MC for the evening is kind and has a great sense of humour throughout! Definitely take the time to visit the Tiki Village and leave with great memories ☺️🌺🌿
C’est M — Google review
Tiki Village was fun, lively, and entertaining! We only did the show (not the dinner) and really enjoyed it. The performers were so talented, and there was plenty of parking. Definitely recommend!
Nomi R — Google review
Better than expected! The dinner was okay, a little greasy and heavy, but we didn't know we were by the hot buffet, I would recommend doing one of the 2 salad buffets first and then not getting so much at the hot buffet. It's baked piglet and chicken and stuff in sauces and I took too much of everything, I should have taken just one small piece of everything and it would still have filled the plate! The highlight was the dancers, I was expecting three or four but there were eight or 10 women, and then 8 or 10 men joined them for quite a few acts, each one they had costume changes so we really got to see a lot of different traditional headdresses and outfits! The fire spinners were awesome too, super super fast to a very fast drum beat and they climbed on each other's shoulders and all spun the fire at the same time, very impressed and skilled. I guess I expected for a small island that it wouldn't be such a professional production but now the $180 USD makes sense. There were tons of wait staff too, constantly clearing our plates and checking on us. There were three tourist couples that had traditional Polynesian weddings earlier that day, that sounded really awesome! 🥰 The dinner and a show thing is only on Tuesdays and Fridays and you have to book and pay weeks in advance. I booked and paid three weeks in advance and then screwed up on the day, it was the day we were leaving for Tahiti and the last ferry is before dark. So I emailed asking to change the date to an earlier one even though they were full and we were lucky that there was a cancellation and they were able to squeeze us in a week earlier. We're so thankful for that, thank you so much! 🙏🤗

Ia ora na Tiki Village! 🥰🥰🥰 We had our official legal marriage ceremony at the Mairie in Ha'apiti, which was Beautiful and very heartfelt on so many levels and in so many beautiful ways! 💝💝💝 We also wanted to experience a Traditional tahitian wedding AND Tiki Village provided that experience beyond our Dreams and Expectations! 😍😍😍 From the moment we arrived and before we even got out of the van, we were swept off our feet into a Tahitian Dream through the live music and smiles that our hosts greeted us with. We were embraced with a Tahitian hospitality that made us feel welcomed and cherished! 🥰🥰🥰 The Traditional Tahitian wedding ceremony is one to be experienced and UNFORGETTABLE! I'm soo HAPPY that we opted to have pictures and a video done by our professional photographer, Emilie CORTHALS (AUMATA Photography*Videography) provided and arranged by Tiki Village. There are soo many fine details to the whole experience, too many to describe here in this review. Just KNOW that you won't be disappointed but rather transported to an ancient time of Tahitian culture with it's music and songs, with it's cultural blessings and Tahitian traditions. Tiki Village does not disappoint! You will be immersed in it's Rich and Vibrant Tahitian colors and flavors, ALL of it steeped in it's Rich traditions and peoples. Māuruuru roa Tiki Village! Our Tahitian memories and experiences with you will ALWAYS be TREASURED and remain in our HEARTS! 🥰🥰🥰🙌🙌🙌🎉🥂🍾😘😘😘 We look forward to our return! 😘😘😍

This was a bit of a mixed experience for us. The short intro to Polynesian culture was nice, the village itself is beautiful, and the free pickup from our hotel was very nice. But then you arrive there at 6, but only begin the buffet past 8, and then some 200 people have to go by a three course buffet. So that felt very rushed, they were starting to clear away food before we had a chance to try everything we wanted, and we never had an opportunity to even order a drink. Because we had dessert, we were one of the last to be seated for the final show, so we had poor visibility from our seats. The show itself was really nice though, lots of good dancers, good music, and particularly the fire dancing was great! Overall, it was nice to do, but too many people, and the timeline doesn't really allow for a nice dinner experience.
Jizzo B — Google review
This was our last evening on Moorea and I wouldn't want to spend it anyway. They were all very welcoming and friendly. We were told by one of the hostesses that there was a sunset not to be missed, which we were very grateful for, as we hadn't seen one on the island yet. The evening was full of interesting information, the buffet meal had a wide variety and the performance was spectacular.

Located on the north coast of Mo'orea in Hawaii, 'Ōpūnohu Bay is a picturesque destination known for its stunning scenery. The bay is flanked by towering mountains, with the 900-meter high Mt. Rotui separating it from Cooks Bay. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of both bays from the coastal road or opt for a more leisurely experience at the Belvedere Lookout.
AMAZING views people, accommodation.. Ferry from Tahiti to Morea. you can get a car on Tahiti and bring it on the ferry or rent on Morea Island. if you get a rental on the island, do some research prices can be half. Avis was very expensive. Hertz was half of Avis. incredibly friendly people. several grocery stores, even the smaller ones have some good quality food in them. there is a large grocery store very close to the ferry port.. bicycles and scooters are very popular to rent along with canoes. accommodation airbnbs are a mini.. some that are right on the ocean fairly inexpensive. it takes about an hour to drive all the way around the island.. Mike was so I took my son Charlie and we left Seattle. found some excellent airbnbs stayed on different parts of the island. one of the places was Mark's place. some very unique built accommodation on this property, outdoor showers that are just amazing and inviting.. found more airbnbs and stayed in one that was right on the ocean. cost was 120 a night and I was able to look across the bay to the Hilton huts that are on the river which were charging $1,000 to 1800 a night LOL. the place we stayed had a big deck, a canoe and a manta ray that would swim by every morning and night. lots of hiking with incredible views.

We were lucky enough to arrive here on the cruise ship Carnival Legend. This bay is beautiful and pictures can not do its beauty any justice. A must see from a cruise ship if you ever have the chance. We were told that Capt. Cook was in this bay and not the bay named after him.

Juice shop
Manutea Tahiti - Rotui Juice Factory & Distillery is a must-visit on any French Polynesian island, particularly Moorea. The factory offers free tours where visitors can witness the juice-making process and explore the gift shop's array of juices, alcohols, and more. Local tours often include stops at Belvedere, Marae sacred sites, pineapple fields, tropical gardens, and the distillery. The self-guided tour provides information in both French and English.
Nice little self guided tour. We went on a non-manufacturing day so was a very quiet warehouse. Free tastings are great and very generous. Have bought her pineapple sparkling but saving it for our last night before heading home
Jarrod H — Google review
It’s free. It’s a fruit juice factory. It’s somewhat interesting. If you like this sort of thing. It’s self guided. Which means you walk around on an elevated platform. What’s great is the tasting at the shop. The staff are friendly and you can taste a bunch of their products. Both fruit juice based and alcoholic.
JeanClaude B — Google review
A juice, alcohol and souvenir shop offering free juice and alcohol samples. Be warned that the shop is often visited by guided tours including those from cruise ships which can lead to a wait for samples and at check out. A juice and alcohol factory offering free tours. The tour is self guided and may take 15-30 minutes. Materials are available in French and English, with some English phrases being lost in translation. This isn’t a restaurant such that you can reserve or be seated at a table.
Greg — Google review
It's free to go. The smell of fruit inside is delicious. The service at the tasting bar was a bit hectic and he rushed us. I spent $53 on juice 🧃 but it's cheaper than buying it locally
Helen M — Google review
Great stop if you've got a couple of minutes. Self-guided tour of the facilities, well designed. It was rather quite since the factory wasn't in full throttle. Great store with lots of good products to choose from
José F — Google review

This is a juice factory where you can get a tour of the factory or just go and try some free samples. I don't drink but I got to try four different juices and my friend got to try four different liquors. They also sell t-shirts and some souvenirs and some different Tahitian oils and fridge magnets etc

Cook's Bay, also known as Pao Pao Bay, is a picturesque bay on the Society Island of Moorea. It is surrounded by hotels, restaurants, and villages set against the backdrop of volcanic peaks. The area offers spectacular scenery with white-sand beaches and a calm blue lagoon that is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and boating. Visitors can stay in waterfront bungalows to enjoy breathtaking views of this heart-shaped island.
Cooks Bay is a postcard...I think one of the most beautiful views on Moorea. We stayed in Cooks bay for a few days and the mix of ocean and views is amazing.
Bald G — Google review
A safe harbor and anchorage for boats. Seems very industrialized as far as Moorea goes: lots of homes and businesses on the shoreline here. Easiest offshore access to the gas station and super market, as well as a few restaurants. Lots of tourist boat activities, and a few other cruisers anchored during our stay. Deep water anchorage closer to the mouth of the bay, shallower near the shore, approximately 50-90 feet throughout. Thick mud bottom that many have reported pulling anchors in strong winds - we had no issue! Spectacular mountains surround the harbor, but beware of the very strong winds that seem to kick up and die down very quickly! Would offer five stars, but our experience was tarnished by locals burning trash almost 24/7. Only one of two harbor anchorages available on the island. Next stop, Opunohu Bay!

For Moorea, our ship pulled into Cook’s Bay and put us ashore near the fish market. Instead of taking a tour, we just starting walking along the road sightseeing. On our way back to the ship, our friends stopped to give us a ride. Their daughter had stepped on a sea anemone, but they still wanted to give us a ride. Their son was so excited about the sea anemone because he got to help her by peeing on her foot.

What’s better than a heart-shaped island for putting lovers in the mood? Maharepa with its Cook’s bay, on the Society Island of Moorea, features epic white-sand beaches and a calm blue lagoon, perfect for a cooling dip or an active snorkeling or boating session. Cuddle up in a waterfront bungalow and absorb the breathtaking views on one of the world’s most beautiful islands. Cook's Bay, also called Pao Pao Bay is one of the two Mo’orea situated close to the largest commune of Mo'orea at the bottom. The highest point is Mount Tohi'e'a, near the center of Mo'orea. It dominates the vista from the this bay and can be seen from Tahiti. The bay leads you in to lush slopes and the lively village of Pao Pao, which is connected to the lovely neighbouring Opunohu Bay by the so-called Pineapple Road. Whether you are on land or water this place have some of the best views of this wonderful island!

Coco Beach Moorea is a popular restaurant located on the beach at Tiahura motu in the Haapiti district of French Polynesia. Accessible by a short boat ride and with free boat transfers from the parking lot, it offers a true dining experience by the sea. The restaurant is highly recommended and known for its French cuisine, providing great food, atmosphere, and service. Visitors can enjoy beautiful views and fresh breezes while indulging in delicious meals.
A unique restaurant on an island just off Moorea. You can arrive via your own water craft or they provide a water taxi seating 12 every 30min for about $5 per person per way. Once you arrive you are assigned a table and given menus. Orders were taken and filled quite quickly for us. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The view from our picnic table was amazing with the blue lagoon water and mountains in the distance. We saw sharks and stingrays swim by frequently. Despite being on an island the restaurant took credit cards. Some people brought snorkel gear but I would not recommend. Thee isn’t any nearby coral sink limited seaside viewing. The current and wind can be strong so was safe to wade out a bit not to swim too far from shore.

I would definitely recommend eating lunch here if you are going to moorea. We booked a couple of weeks in advance and when we did there were only 1 or 2 days on our vacation that were available. It was absolutely paradise, beautiful clear water. Lush green trees, a ray swam up to the picnic tables that are halfway in the water. There is limited parking. We arrived early and had to park on the side of the road. My advice is to bring or pack water shoes that was my only regret. When you arrive by the boat you wade in shallow water for a few steps and it is quite rocky with coral 🪸 and rocks and shells. I'm not really sure about snorkeling there, you can but I feel like you would have to really want to. But I do think some good water wading shoes would be helpful.
Carolyn B — Google review
Definitely worth a visit. We had a beautiful day! Book your reservation on the website. Your reservation time is for the time of the boat pick up. The food was amazing. Snorkeling was fun but the current was really strong. If you walk right of the restaurant there is a beautiful sand bar.
Terian G — Google review
Amazing restaurant on a motu with a ferry shuttle service (costs an extra $5 US return) or you can rent a boat or a paddle board or a kayak to get there. Book an early time because the last shuttle comes back at 3:00 p.m. and if you want to snorkel in the Coral gardens, there's black tip reef sharks and stingrays and thousands of beautiful fish and corals I've never seen before, you just have to walk past the restaurant along the water a couple hundred meters. We had an 11:00 a.m. shuttle booking and by the time we arrived at the back of the group, all the tables in the water were already taken, so I would recommend taking the first shuttle and being at the front of the crowd when you get to the hostess stand. Eating with my feet in the water is a dream of mine that I will one day fulfill lol. We tried to book another trip and they were full a week in advance, at least the shuttle service, which is only for restaurant patrons... Btw I had the lagoon fish of the day which was a parrot fish and it was so delicate and delicious and fresh omg! Full of bones but that's to be expected with the smaller fish. I don't know if the restaurant staff saw me throwing the fins and tail and head to the chickens that were nearby, one of the things I love about French Polynesia is they're really laid back about stuff and they just ignore it if they see something, not like the rules of everywhere else. I don't think they have electricity everything is cooked on the grill so the rice and stuff must be made in advance on land, therefore our pina coladas were kind of chunky, with bits of real coconuts or pineapple, not blended like a smoothie. Just FYI to order something else. I did have a fresh squeezed pineapple juice afterwards that was the best juice I've ever had!
Tamra S — Google review
Definitely a “must do” while on Moorea! I made reservations on their website - reservations are needed for the boat that takes you to the motu. The reservation is for the whole day- so the table is yours. I booked for 11am (this is when the boat picks you up), we left around 3 pm. The food was great- I had the special- mahi-mahi- it was delicious! The pina colada was good. After lunch, we snorkeled for about an hour. There is a current between the two motus- fins were needed to get to the coral heads between the two islands but you can ride the current back (you could also wade/walk up then ride the current back). Highly recommend; kid friendly.

We went to Coco Beach as we had read it was a must do while in Moorea. If you have a nice beach where you are staying, where you can swim and snorkel you don't need to go to Coco. Once you are greeted off the boat by staff they encourage you to order a meal and drinks immediately before enjoying the beach, etc. We didn't like the timeline and pressure right after arriving. The best part was the boat ride out and that was about it. The drinks were nothing special and food was okay.

We had an excellent day on Coco Beach Island. We booked our boat shuttle on the website, met the boat at the wharf (lots of shady car parking) the ride over to Coco Island was stunning as was the lunch. Throughly enjoyed Coco Beach as our introduction activity on Moorea, a lovely relaxing day on an island in paradise. 5 star.
Anna L — Google review
Coco Beach Moorea is a little slice of paradise! The setting is absolutely stunning—a small island café nestled under the trees, surrounded by the most vibrant turquoise sea you can imagine. The water is crystal clear, full of colorful fish, and perfect for swimming or just relaxing and soaking in the view. We waited about 15 minutes for the shuttle boat, which took around 10 minutes to reach the island. We arrived around 1 PM, which turned out to be a bit late—they had already run out of some of the most popular dishes like poisson cru and grilled octopus. So if you want the full experience, I’d recommend going earlier in the day. The food we had was delicious, but honestly, the reason I’d return is the location itself. It’s an unforgettable spot—peaceful, scenic, and uniquely Moorea. Highly recommended—not just for the food, but for the breathtaking setting. A must-do if you’re visiting the island!

Toatea Lookout is a must-visit spot near the Sofitel Resort and Temae Beach in Moorea. It offers a relatively easy walk with rewarding views of the island's stunning landscapes, including the lush tropical trees and the iconic overwater bungalows of Sofitel Moorea.
A perfect spot to over look the ocean and reef below. Best of all, you can appreciate the beautiful Sofitel from a short distance which is otherwise unreachable to most ($1000/night!).

Absolutely breathtaking! This viewpoint is one of the most stunning spots on Moorea and truly feels like a scene straight out of a postcard. It was our first stop on the island!! The panoramic view stretches over a vibrant turquoise lagoon, dotted with dreamy overwater bungalows, all framed by lush, green mountains that rise dramatically in the distance. The colors are so vivid it almost feels unreal. It’s peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect place to pause, take in the beauty, and snap some incredible photos.

A small roadside lookout with views over the nearby public beach and the Sofitel overwater bungalows. You may only access the lookout when traveling north as the carpark is on the same side of the road as the lookout and crossing the median strip is not allowed. There are a few chickens that hang out around the lookout too.

The Tropical Garden in Moorea offers a unique experience for families, with ATV tours along Pineapple Road and the Belvedere Lookout providing an exciting way to explore the island. Visitors can also join a tour of the garden led by Franky, who shares insights into vanilla cultivation and tropical fruits. The garden's remote location at the end of a rugged road rewards guests with stunning views of Opunohu Bay and the surrounding area.
I wish we knew about this place sooner! We went there in our last day and it was by far the best food we had on the island. The service was really friendly, the view is amazing… we didn’t try the juices, but the table next to us had a few and they were raving! It is a bit of a steep drive, so be warned that you need a good handle on the car to get up, but it’s worth it :)

Absolutely loved our lunches! The cooked tuna salad and fish tacos were our favorites and the fruit smoothie was heavenly. Got to sample and purchase the delicious homemade fruit spreads to take home. The service was outstanding and everyone was so friendly! Highly recommend lunch here. The views are one in a million!

We visited here really early (before noon) for early monday lunch, and we were able to get table on the terrace and parking very easily. We soon found out the place is actually very famous as it got really packed. Foods were delicious. Glad we were able to try taro and uru here before leaving the country! Food was a bit slow though. They have a nice garden around including vanilla farm. Driving up and parking can be really challenging. Consider come early, ideally 4wd.

It was a steep drive uphill, with only one lane of traffic at a time, but the view was breathtaking. Such a great place to eat, relax and enjoy the view of the bay. The vanilla garden was really fun to visit, though my pictures came out like a graveyard lol. I tried to follow the sign to see the waterfall but could not find it (I heard it though!). For those who are familiar with fish tacos in small round tortillas, you may find the fish tacos here wrapped more like a burrito ;).

Very enjoyable experience at Tropical Garden. The best view from a restaurant on the island we found. The food was tasty (FYI pretty big portions). The service was incredibly friendly. They were out of a few items, but they were busy, and they are at the top of the mountain. You can’t blame them. Be prepared for an uphill drive on a rocky road, but the view at the top is totally worth it.

Getting to the top in a scooter was very tough, but once we got there the views were amazing and the food was great. We toured the vanilla farm in the back and loved reading more about the process. The food was top notch and the people were so kind. Loved our day trip here.

Garden grounds themselves are beautiful. We didn’t end up eating here because we wanted smoothies after a hike and they had tan out of pineapple juice. Be careful and watch for cats in the parking lot as there are many on the property like many places on the island! Great view, wish I could speak to the food! Watch for red ants.

Took my husband here to surprise him for our wedding anniversary, and we were not disappointed! Communicating and organizing things beforehand was so smooth- the staff were very fast to respond every time, very kind, and patient even when I was asking dumb questions lol. Regarding the tour itself, it was a beautiful route! Amazing views, and all of the stops were at great locations, plus it was so interesting to go in the valley and learn more about Moorea, as opposed to just staying around the outside of Moorea. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, we had an awesome time! Definitely worth it 💯

Awesome experience, our driver who picked us up from our hotel, Tokerau (hopefully I’ve spelt that right) was by far the friendliest person I met on our trip, really chatty and just a genuinely nice person. Our guide for the day was Savannah, she was equally as friendly and knowledgeable about the island. The trip is an absolute must, it was my first time riding an ATV, and it was really easy to pick up. There are a couple of steep ascents/descents, but if you take your time they’re absolutely fine. The views at the top of the mountain are breathtaking!

Les Tipaniers is a beautiful public beach in Moorea, known for its small boat and dive shop where visitors can arrange tours or rent motorboats without needing a license or experience. The motorboats can accommodate up to 4 people, making it an affordable group activity. The beach is surrounded by narrow white sand strips and tends to get crowded on holidays and weekends. Additionally, the beach bar restaurant at Les Tipaniers offers friendly service, delicious cocktails, and prompt food service.
Restaurant/Beach Bar review. I’m not sure where all of the hate for the beach restaurant comes from. We had a lovely experience. The drinks were poured generously, the beer was cold, and the food was tasty. The fries were some of the best we have had in FP. I would dine here again.
Jon M — Google review
(Restaurant/ bar) Bar on the water was great, tried 4 different cocktails and they were all excellent and the staff were lovely. Five star! (Restaurant) The dinner however was not good, got 2 pizzas and they were both average at best. Got a cream based and tomato based. The tomato based one came out mid temperature only and the other one was only ok. 1 star max. Edit: Unfortunately, as we came for a swim the next day the guy who served us was yelling our order at us as we went back to our car in an abusive manner. Very unpleasant experience.
Phill T — Google review
(Covering the hotel, restaurant and cafe/bar) Hotel - I stayed in room 22 and was first greeted by the neighbours having a (not so) very private moment together, not the hotel’s fault but the open netting at the top of the window means everybody can hear everything). It got worse, as the room was INFESTED with ants - I was bitten constantly, no air conditioning and the bathroom stank of sewers (backed up by the constantly foaming shower drain). This odour was so bad I had to wash my clothes twice after staying here, I think furniture wax is used to mask it, but it felt like I was drying myself in human slurry after the shower. I’m generally not very fussy but it is an extremely dated room and the whole block needs demolishing and redoing. Honestly unacceptable. Restaurant - Pizza tasted very bland so did not eat here again but liked I could take it to my room. Cafe/ bar - One of the ladies who works here on a morning is extremely rude. She threw ice at a chicken that also nearly hit me and stomps around the restaurant making you on edge. The other ladies are nice but the one staff member is enough to not go back. The food is average and very overpriced but the setting is incredible. Based off my experience, I cannot recommend this place. If things improve, I would consider re-writing this review.
Andrew — Google review
This review is for the Garden Bar & Restaurant. Quite possibly the worst restaurant meal I've ever had, and I've travelled a lot. The "grilled fish" was inedible. I've never had fish that was so full of fat that I simply couldn't chew it. I really needed to eat something, so I had to suppress my gag reflex to force some of it down. I left most of it on the plate, and no one even bothered to ask why. To top off this awful experience, the meal was expensive, and the server was rude.
Maggie F — Google review
The setting for the restaurant is one of the loveliest in the world. Beautiful blue water and a stunning array of tropical fish. The food was not as amazing as the view - although overall we had a great experience. The trio of raw fish dishes was amazing and the chicken salad was tasty. Service was competent. The beach made it an outstanding day.
Moira F — Google review
Worst breakfast we had in Moorea. The woman managing the restaurant was rude from the moment we walked in — sighing because we weren’t ready to order two minutes after arriving, even though the place was empty. She stayed unpleasant throughout, and gave change entirely in 5 franc coins. Food was bland and tasteless. Totally out of step with the warm service we experienced elsewhere on the island. Avoid.
Celine T — Google review
A pleasant surprise — deserves a higher rating for the beach restaurant! In Moorea, where long wait times are common even at top-rated places, we were really impressed by how *kind and quick the staff* was here — a big plus! The food was *delicious*: tasty club sandwich, fresh salads, *excellent tuna sashimi*, good wine, and their *homemade tart* was lovely. Honestly, this restaurant *deserves a much higher rating*. I would give it *4.5 stars* and would happily come back!

Self-guided zip lining in an epic setting! My 11-year old had a blast. Highly recommend if you are looking for a fun adventure. There’s no bathroom on site.

I’m usually not afraid of heights, but wow the zip line was actually quite scary! It’s very fast. I did the 14m height, and I gave up on the 25m. Beautiful scenery. My only complaint was that the entrance was a bit hard to find and the harness I wore was a bit stinky.
Sung P — Google review
Loved it! What fun experience and great value for money. The staff is fantastic. After a safety briefing you go on your own, at your own pace. It’s not just a zip line, it’s an entire obstacle course! We spent a couple of hours there, and were so exhausted, we didn’t even do all the courses. Closed shoes recommended otherwise you may loose them.
Jenya A — Google review
Absolutely fantastic fun. I did all of the courses, and they all have a unique flavor to them. There are a lot of ziplines scattered throughout, including a very long, very high one. I found it to be a good workout and a way to challenge myself. Not for those afraid of heights. The parking lot is in an epically beautiful spot, and requires a bit of a walk up hill to reach the actual courses.

Surprise visit turned into an absolute highlight! We dropped into the zipline forest park on a whim and were so glad we did. This place is fantastic for kids, older kids and grown-up kids alike. The staff are great and flying through the trees, feeling the wind, hearing the leaves — it’s fun, yet very doable. The forest setting adds an extra layer of excitement to the experience. Definitely not just a “zip-over-a-clearing” kind of place — you’re truly immersed in nature. If you’re looking for a fun, active outing, don’t miss this. Highly recommend it!
Christian B — Google review
This place was so fun! We went early in the morning (right at 9am when they opened) and did zip lines for 2 hours. They gave us a quick safety briefing and then sent us on our way, which we loved. We did several courses and were basically the only people on them (ideal). This is a great place for all ages. Theres a variety of courses that can suite everyone - from people who don’t like heights, to someone who wants challenging obstacles.

Excellent place for kids to start! So much fun on the course. Different options for which course to do. All courses total of 6 zip line is one price or can do a couple.

This was the highlight of our trip to Moorea! The place was a hidden gem. We stayed 2 nights at the Hilton and spent probably 3 hours here doing every course and talking with the staff that were just wonderful. We had been zip lining (self breaking) before but it was nothing compared to Tiki Parc. It felt like American Ninja Warrior 30 feet above the ground.

The food was really delicious. I'm happy my husband chose this restaurant for lunch. It was quite a busy lunch scene,we waited bout 15min for our food to arrive. It was worth the wait. We noticed most of the crew speaking English. We enjoyed their garlic shrimp & rice, grilled mahi mahi and cheese burger. Our girl was in the mood for shrimp so I ended up exchanging her cheese burger & fritz.

Stepping into Snack Mahana RESA was an absolute delight, truly the highlight of my culinary experiences in Moorea! The casual beachfront setting immediately put me at ease, with our table offering a fantastic view right by the water. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed and authentic meal, and it’s clear why it's so popular – the seating fills up quickly! The food was simply incredible. I opted for the fried mahi-mahi with coconut sauce, and it was perfectly cooked, bursting with fresh flavor. My companion had the raw fish marinated in coconut milk (poisson cru), which was incredibly light, fresh, and utterly delicious – definitely a must-try. The portions were generous, offering fantastic value, especially compared to resort prices. Even with a busy lunch crowd, the service was friendly and efficient, and our food arrived promptly. The crew was very welcoming, and many spoke English, which was helpful. This isn't a fancy place, but its charm, delicious local food, and beautiful setting make it a truly unforgettable dining experience. Highly, highly recommended!

Lucy M — Google review
I rarely if ever give a 5 star rating, as it infers they can't do any better, well in this case, they just cannot do better or improve. It was perfect in every measureable way. Following the meal that we had here last week, we had to come back again and try out their Mahi mahi. What an amazing treat. Instead of the breaded Mahi mahi with coconut milk, I decided to have, just have the breaded fish, and undercooked, without the coconut milk, but with chips instead. What a delight, the fish was a section from the belly from the Mahi mahi. Very undercooked as I requested to translucent at the thickest section, but still warm at this thickest point. It fell apart as I cut through the bread coating, and with the slight addition of pepper to the coating of the bread, it was exquisite. I have had Mahi mahi presented from other restarants and they just don't know how to prepare or cook this cut of fish, without presenting it to the customer horribly dry. Read my review of Chez Tamahau. From my perspective, if you like moist, sweet fish, you should definitely try this offering, you will not be disappointed. It is not actually on their menu in this form, but ask for, "Breaded Mahi mahi, no coconut milk, but with chips". You will love it, enjoy. My wife had the steak and chips as before, which she loved. Perfectly cooked to her liking. ****** We visited Snack Mahana for lunch today we all had steaks and fries. Mine was supplied as requested, however I had to ask three times over the course of my meal for a steak knife. They provided us one steak knife for three guests, then they bought one more. However after the third request I received my steak knife, some 20 minutes later Pretty obvious that if you order steak, you should receive the requiste knife. My steak was cooked well, as were the fries. Good to see that they did not add salt to the fries, which were very well cooked, as seen in the photos. The garlic sauce was ok for me, but for others it may be a little overpowering. We were the third group of customers to arrive, so our meals arrived fairly soon after we placed our orders, which may differ from what other reviewers have commented upon. The outlook from the front table is great, and we were fortunate to see a large stingray pass immediately below us. No extra charge for the wild life.

A fabulous setting. We arrived early to secure a waterfront table overlooking the water. Awesome view of reef, and moored yachts. Friendly local service. Lovely local atmosphere. We ordered and shared a delicious poisson cru served in a large clam shell. Chunks of fresh tuna and salad with the addition of ginger. Slightly sweeter than expected but lovely. Suggest you share as it is a large portion. We were advised to have the breaded paro in preference to mahi mahi which we shared. The fish was sweet and delicate but very mushy. I would not order again but we will return to try the mahi mahi. Including 2 beers the cost 7200 XPF.

Lagoonarium de Moorea is a snorkeling park located on the eastern coastline of Moorea near the village of Afareaitu. It offers boat trips to a shallow offshore reef where visitors can encounter sharks, rays, and angel fish in the clear blue waters. The park is situated on a small island named Motu Ahi and provides a unique lagoon experience with guided tours and safety measures in place to protect visitors from strong currents.
Truly amazing!!! In my opinion not to be missed!! It's best to find out when feeding times are before visiting. Take cash, I don't think they accept credit cards. If you get there early you get your own hut for the day to store your belongings. We visited in June 2019.

Lagoonarium in Mo'orea is great for snorkeling! If you enjoy, off the beaten path, local style this is for you. 2 tours a day when we went.

This place was by far the most amazing snorkeling spot I have ever been to in my life. If you want an up close and personal experience with marine life, come here! I felt like I was inside an aquarium! It is the best value for your money. The cost is $44. It includes a boat ride to Motu Ahi, watch two up close fish feedings (11:30 and 14:00,) a hut for your belongings (great for napping to the sounds of the ocean 😍,) kayak use, water, coffee and tea. They have water shoes and snorkel gear available for rental on location. You are allowed to stay on the Motu as long as you want from the hours of 8:00-16:00) Note: You will be up close and personal with 5-6 foot sharks and there are strong currents but they have ropes to hold on to while you explore. There are also very large sting rays swimming around. I felt very safe the entire time I was here and it was really neat that you get to do your own thing. It’s not a guided tour... It’s just fun in the water with the beautiful sea creatures. I never wanted to leave.

Great place with a lot of fish, sharks and sting rays. Currant is very strong in some parts. 7400xpf per 2 adults. Fish feeding at 11:30 and 2pm. Nice and funny guide ;) You can spend whole day and relax, open 8-4, free water,tea,coffee...bring your lunch or order for 2300xpf

I saw many reviews talking about people standing on coral. I didn't see that at all, and we were told right from the start not to touch it. We had a fantastic time! If you are early enough, you are given a bungalow to store your gear in, some chairs and a table. There's a shower, and the cutest bathroom! They supply water, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. You can order lunch in advance for $ 2700xpf . Admission is 3900xpf and 1/2 price under 12yrs. DON'T miss the fish feeding at 11:30 and 2pm. He doesn't feed the sharks, but they come anyway 5-6ft blacktips come right past you. The best thing we did on Moorea! Not far from the airport or pier, don't pay the tour company. Take a taxi and set up a time to get picked up.

What a fantastic day, a bit apprehensive prior to arrival, however no issue once there, swimming with sharks and rays and hundreds of different species of fish, wow what an experience, highly recommended to visit, grab a ferry from Pappette then a local bus to Motu Ahi, you wont be disappointed. The lovely peeople were also kind enough to take us back to the Port

Swam with stingrays, like on it's back! Just be careful, they.. bite! A must to do when you are in Moorea. Go for a full day. Please put lotion on your bottom... Bring boozzzz. You will pull yourself against the current via rope.. and then release & drift down, just to catch another rope. You can dive to the bottom and hold on to rocks. It is so much fun! The most fun I had in Moorea.

Nestled on a point of land between Opunohu and Cook Bays, the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa offers a serene escape with relaxed bungalows, including overwater options. The resort is renowned for its exceptional snorkeling reefs, just yards from the shore and extending beneath the overwater bungalows.
The Hilton in Moorea was truly magical. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Their warmth and attentiveness made our stay feel incredibly special. The food was absolutely outstanding. The buffet dinner, in particular, was a highlight — not only was every dish delicious, but it was paired with a gorgeous Polynesian show that made the evening unforgettable. We also got massages at the beautiful spa, which is located right on the beach with amazing views. We highly recommend the jasmine-scented oil and doing the couples massage. It was relaxing, romantic, and one of our favorite parts of the trip. Snorkeling was another highlight. We saw so many beautifully colored fish in the clear, warm water just steps from our room. Everything about our stay was amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax and celebrate. Highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a magical escape.

We had the most exceptional time at this hotel. All of the staff are incredibly kind and friendly, the rooms are beautiful, and the property is beyond gorgeous. I have MANY severe food allergies and the entire staff, especially head Chef Jerome, went way out of their way to accommodate me. They made me allergy-safe food at every meal, whether or not it was on the menu. I could even eat at the dinner and breakfast buffets due to their kind accommodations. Chef Jerome personally walked me through the dinner buffet telling me what I could and could not eat. I have truly never in my life experienced such incredible assistance for my allergies anywhere. Also great snorkeling reef right out in the front and I got the best massage of my life at the spa there. Bonus: there are several cats who live on the property who are absolutely adorable and that made our visit even better! It could not have been better! Could not more highly recommend, especially for folks with food allergies like myself.

Overall experience was great. Not perfect. But all problems were addressed. I came with relatively low expectations due to the reviews I read here. I also had big disappointment when I noticed that our bangalô (#26) was separated from the other one just by a door. There was no information about that when I booked the room. I complained and the manager addressed and gave different options to us which I was very happy with. The highlight of the hotel, after the beach, for us was the crepe restaurant where you can see sharks while having dinner. They come after 7pm. And the crepe is just like in France. Snorkeling at the beach is a great experience. The hotel offers kayaks, snorkel, paddle boards, etc. The breakfast is good and plenty of options to choose from. The bangalô we stayed was very nice and I did not feel outdated. It was just rustic, which both of us liked. The best drink is the mocktail Virgin Colada made of coconut. I also liked that the hotel was not crowded. Just the right amount of people which is rare. There are some cons that I wish they could fix: - We were warned about a $150 fee if we lose the plastic keys. This is way too much and made us be worried about the keys all the time. Those keys cost $0.10. - None of the outdoor furnitures had cushions. For a luxury hotel was not nice - Plastic cards for towels, seriously?

We stayed at the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort for our honeymoon, and while the scenery and location are undeniably beautiful, our experience unfortunately fell far short of expectations — especially for a 5-star Hilton property. • Wi-Fi: The internet connection was a complete mess — constantly disconnecting and extremely slow when it worked. This was frustrating, especially considering the resort’s category and price point. • Room Keys: Our room keys stopped working four times in just four days, requiring multiple trips back to reception to have them reactivated. • Breakfast Policy: As Diamond members, we had breakfast included, but here they differentiate between “cold” and “hot” breakfast. Hot breakfast — which simply includes eggs or pancakes (not particularly fresh either) — costs an additional $9 per person per day. That’s quite disappointing and feels like the hotel is trying to squeeze every extra dollar from guests. • Diamond Benefits: Early check-in and late check-out, which are standard Diamond perks, were both denied due to “availability.” • Entertainment: The resort lacks any real evening entertainment. Everything is quiet after sunset, with only one Polynesian show offered three times a week — and you must pay $100 per person to attend, including a rather average buffet dinner. • Room Condition: We stayed in an overwater bungalow, which was pleasant overall, but the structure is showing clear signs of age and insufficient maintenance — several pillars of the bungalows have visible cracks. Overall, while Moorea itself is stunning and the overwater experience was enjoyable, the stay felt far below the standard expected from a Hilton resort, especially for loyal Diamond members. There’s great potential here, but significant improvements are needed in service quality, maintenance, and guest experience.

Spent 5 nights at Hilton Moorea. Staff were professional and willing to help. Stayed in bungalow #31. Although clean and quiet, the space was in need of refurbishing both inside and out. Breakfast buffet was hearty and plentiful. Buffet dinners on 2 nites of stay. First buffet food was not warm. Second buffet was better in terms of hot food.

We stayed in the Hilton Moorea over-the-water bungalows (#93). It was great to be on the leeward side as the windward side got pretty windy. While the bungalow could use some maintenance, it was a great size. Bed was comfortable, shower and bathroom large, big deck overlooking the water and steps down to another deck that had a ladder to get in the water. We snorkeled a couple of times and saw some nice fish. Also, from the walkway I saw an Eagle Ray! Views (even though we didn't have the panoramic view) were great. Now for the not so good, in no special order. The walkway is uneven getting into the bungalow (we're pretty sturdy, but tripped a couple times). The water was not drinkable in the bungalow. There are bottle fillers, but they aren't necessarily convenient. They do provide bottles. The staff. The woman who was the director of the front desk (was sitting at that desk later) was downright rude. Concierge was helpful, but again, not happy. Food was not great, especially in main dining and the lunch dining by the water. The exception is breakfast in main dining, and the creperie - those were good. The servers also did not seem happy. Seems like a management issue sadly. I literally had one bell person (name started with AR, tall and slim) who went out of his way to help. Above check-in had directed me to a water source that wasn't there, and he kindly took me to one that was, and took us to our room once we could finally check in. You'd think they'd have water in the main lobby!

Our experience was great ,starting from first moment, very kind crew ,porter was so welcoming and helpful. Villa was very clean and perfect. Food was excellent. Staff on the beach was super friendly and very helpful The only thing we didn’t like is ,that reception send us to find room by ourselves, which was a bit surprising,we are golden members and we expected someone to show us our villa . In general very good value for money. Highly recommended!🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

It’s sad to say, but I honestly couldn’t wait to leave this resort. The hostess at breakfast is so rude, she started the day off bad every day. She also works at the lunch restaurant so we couldn’t escape her miserable attitude. The Wi-Fi here is also so bad. I understand that it’s a remote island, but we went to restaurants here with much better Wi-Fi so it’s unacceptable that the Hilton does not have better Wi-Fi for its guests.

Nestled in the stunning Moorea, Sofitel Kia Ora Moorea Beach Resort offers a chic and polished retreat with private beach access, dining options, a bar, pool, and spa. The resort's prime location on a golden beach provides breathtaking views of the turquoise waters and Tahiti island. Guests can enjoy various amenities such as free wifi, wheelchair accessibility, breakfast in the room, 24-hour reception service, massages, and a private beach area.
Sofitel had great ambience and vibe. We loved the traditional Tahitian touches of the villas and snorkeling off the beach was simply amazing. The bed was the most comfortable one throughout our trip. Amazing dinner at K restaurant. The pearls at the shop were one of the best quality ones. Our stay was super chill and relaxing and we would love to come back

The highlight of our trip was definitely our stay at Sofitel in the water bungalow. It was absolutely magical and beautiful in every way, and far beyond our expectations. We truly didn’t want to leave! The peacefulness of the bungalow and the stunning views and water color made for a memorable experience. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, always going out of their way to make us feel welcome. We also did the jet ski tour, which was so much fun and a fantastic way to explore the area. The grounds were lush and well-maintained, creating a serene atmosphere for our stay. However, there were a few areas that could use some attention. The pool and bar areas, in particular, seemed to need a bit of love and care. It was clear that some parts of the facilities could use some updating to match the beauty of the surroundings. Another thing to note was the dining options—while we enjoyed our meals, we were a bit disappointed that the evening dining experiences were mainly buffets or 5-7 course meals. The bar menu was also quite limited, which was a bit of a letdown given the overall luxury of the resort. Despite these small drawbacks, we would absolutely return and look forward to another unforgettable stay at Sofitel.

We had an excellent stay at Sofitel Moorea. It was our first week of honeymoon , in total we had 3 weeks in French Polynesia. The staff were absolutely lovely — always smiling, kind, and attentive, which made our experience feel genuinely warm and welcoming. The hotel has a lively atmosphere, especially in the evenings with the entertainment full of good energy and fun. The setting is stunning, the beach is beautiful, and the facilities are very comfortable. If we could suggest one small improvement, it would be the food — both the taste and presentation could be a bit more refined to match the overall high standard of the resort. Overall, a wonderful stay in a paradise location, made truly special by an exceptional team! 🌺

I am completely baffled at the glowing reviews. Our experience in the overwater bungalows was quite the opposite. This was a special occasion, and as such, we only booked the Sofitel for 2 nights of our 7 day trip, due to the incredibly steep price tag. This was meant to be the highlight of our trip, and had been looking forward to it for months. While the snorkeling around the property was the best we had in Tahiti/Moorea, the bungalow itself left much to be desired: Shutter slats were broken/missing, leaving shutters inoperable on the side windows. Every time the toilet was flushed, the bathroom filled with a sewer smell. Found a huge cockroach crawling around on the bathroom counter. Two geckos on the ceiling above the bed chirping at each other. We are not accustomed to staying in such an expensive place, but I can say without a doubt, I’ve never had cockroaches and geckos in my room - ever! Management did let us check out a day early, and for that, I am most appreciative. We did not sleep well, between leaving the lights on for fear of more roaches, and the chirping of the geckos over our heads. I am absolutely embarrassed that we paid as much as we did, given the circumstances. There were far better waterfront places we stayed over the course of the week, at a fraction of the cost, and critter free!
Desha O — Google review
We stayed in an overwater bungalow at the Sofitel for one night during our honeymoon. The staff were so warm and welcoming! We were greeted with a refreshing drink and towel upon arrival, and even received a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room. The resort grounds are stunning, and snorkeling right off our bungalow was a highlight! We also really enjoyed the great selection at the breakfast buffet. That said, for the premium price of the overwater bungalow, I was disappointed with the room’s cleanliness. We found a leftover beer can on the deck, a dead cockroach in the closet, and a bug on one of the pillowcases. These details took away from what could have been an amazing, flawless experience. Overall, the location and staff were exceptional, but the cleanliness of our room didn’t meet the standards we expected for the price. I’d recommend the resort for its beauty and service, but I’d suggest considering a different room type until housekeeping standards are more consistent.

We stayed in a over the water bungalow and it was excellent. The bed was huge and comfortable, the pillows so soft. The layout was just right the the perfect amount of space. The water access was easy. The mini bar had the right selection. The sound of the waves breaking at the reef was very relaxing. The complementary breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and very professional. Can't wait to go back for longer stay.
Eduardo M — Google review
Bungalows are beautiful and spacious. Loved having a deck and the bed and pillows were great. Food was terrible and way over priced. $100 per person for a buffet that left me feeling sick for two days in a row. Fish was all over cooked. Breakfast buffet was nice. Location is isolated. Not sure I would stay there again based on location alone. We had a rental car but Sofitel is 40 minutes from the shops and restaurants.
Robin C — Google review
Grounds are beautiful and the staff are wonderful. Great snorkeling off the beach. There are a couple resident stray dogs on the grounds, us and other guests were concerned for their well being. It seems the Sofitel could sponsor the spay/neuter of these dogs, or I am sure guests would donate. This would improve the lives of the dogs and create a happier environment for the guests knowing they are somewhat cared for!

Moorea offers a variety of snorkeling spots, with the area between the motus being highly recommended. Accessible by kayak, boat rental, or as part of a guided tour, this spot promises an exciting underwater experience. Additionally, from June to October, visitors can witness humpback whales in the Marine Mammal Sanctuary. Tours are available for whale watching and even snorkeling alongside these majestic creatures. Guests have reported memorable encounters with the whales and other marine life while on these tours.
Best possible experience! The guides were fantastic, knowledgeable and super happy people. You can tell they really love their jobs and respect the whales, ocean, community, etc. While we were waiting for other boats to spot the whales we stopped off at the shark/Ray sand bar by coco beach. Then headed out to where the whales were spotted. About half the group swam out to see the mom and calf and Moorea Deep Blue provided fins/snorkels to those who needed equipment. 10/10 recommend

We went on another tour that gave us a 5 star experience, making it more clear that this one was not up to par. The boat is not very nice or comfortable compared to the other, and the vibe was generally not that good. I have been on many tours where regardless of what the whales are doing we still have a very enjoyable time. Unfortunately, we did not really enjoy this experience much and heard that other tours had ended up canceling that day because of how rough the conditions were...

The staff was able to accommodate my last minute request and I'm very grateful. We did a good search of whales and had around 5 dives to swim with them. Despite overcast sky and not amazing visibility (it's quite deep down there), we were still very lucky to see them while snorkelling (sometimes single ones and sometimes up to 3 swimming together) and also to hear them "singing" while under water. The last stop in the lagoon was cool as well. We could snorkel with lemon sharks, large & friendly rays, and a few fish species.

Moorea Beach Cafe by Bruno Jamais offers an upscale dining experience with breathtaking sunset views. The restaurant is located right on the lagoon, providing endless sea views and stunning sunsets. The Veuve Cliquot champagne logo can be seen on the bright orange umbrellas, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. It's within walking distance from Hotel Manava Moorea and a small outdoor shopping center in Maharepa district.
Best decision ever to eat here tonight. We’re staying at a 5 star resort and while the food is good, this food blew it out of the water. The sushi and crispy rice sushi were phenomenal. The pork belly on cabbage was also fantastic. This chef really excels in his field. I wish he had more days in town to come try more of his food. The service was also wonderful. I have a food allergy which they handled so carefully. It was also pouring rain yet still crowded with customers, clearly a well known place for its excellent food. The setting is right on the water and has great views which I’m sure are even nicer when it’s not pouring rain though we still loved it!:) The chef’s daughter was helping us too and was so friendly and kind. Highly recommend this place.

The Moorea Beach Café is an absolute gem. The setting and views are nothing short of incredible — the perfect spot to watch the sunset while enjoying dinner with your toes in the sand and the ocean lapping at your feet. The food and service are exceptional, and Bruno, the owner, makes the experience even more special with his warm, welcoming personality. The crispy sushi was truly out of this world (so good I had to come back just to have it again!), and the fresh focaccia bread was another favorite. The Veuve Clicquot Champagne theme throughout the café creates a fun, celebratory vibe that makes every visit feel special.

My partner and I had a fabulous experience dining at Moorea Beach Cafe by Mr. Bruno Jamais. We started with a Veuve Cliquot toast while watching a beautiful sunset at a lovely table by the water. Each course was delicious - especially the foie gras sushi which was so fabulous, we ordered it twice!! We also enjoyed Greek salad, garlic bread, and Hawaiian pizza. The piece de la resistance - classic crème brûlée and espresso! I strongly recommend this charming cafe as a “must” visit on Moorea. It was also a pleasure to meet the incomparable Bruno Jamais - the visionary behind it all!

RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE – RUINED OUR LAST NIGHT IN MOOREA The view might be nice, but everything else was an absolute nightmare. My wife and I came here on our honeymoon and were immediately swarmed by bugs — crawling on our legs, into our shirts, and even into our food and drinks. No matter how much we swatted them away, they kept coming. We literally had bugs in our food and water cups. The manager offered to move us to a different table, but the whole restaurant was infested — mosquitoes and termites everywhere. By then, our food and drinks were already contaminated. His excuse? “It happens all over the island” and “it’ll end in 5 minutes.” It went on much longer, and instead of showing any understanding, he was dismissive and extremely disrespectful. When we explained we didn’t want to pay for food full of bugs that we couldn’t even eat, he ignored us. He offered a free dessert instead, but by that point, we just wanted to leave. To make matters worse, the nice table of three next to us tried to cheer us up and even offered to cover our drinks. But when the bill came, the manager charged us for EVERYTHING — including the drinks the other table had already put on their check. When I tried to reason with him, he doubled down, saying we were “the only ones complaining” and continued to make rude comments. Meanwhile, we saw multiple families unable to sit down because of how bad the bugs were, and several people walked out. Even when I finally decided to just pay to end the situation, he continued making disrespectful comments toward us while I was telling him, “just let me pay.” In the end, I just paid to avoid further confrontation and plan to dispute the charge with my hotel/credit card. What was supposed to be a special last night of our honeymoon was completely ruined by this awful experience. Do yourself a favor — RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. The owner is rude, the restaurant is bug-infested, and you’ll end up paying full price for food and drinks that you can’t even consume.

The most beautiful beach cafe I have ever been to in my entire life. The views here were mind-blowing. Very peaceful setting with friendly staff. We didn't have long in Mo'orea so we just took a taxi here (from the ferry port) with some friends and spent about an hour enjoying the view, with a lovely cold drink. I cannot rate the food because we didn't eat here.

We were in Moorea for a week and ended up at this restaurant 3 times, we enjoyed it that much. We spent our last night there with our group of 8 and everyone raved about it and said it was the best restaurant they had been to on the island. The setting is perfect where you can watch a sunset while you dine or listen to the lapping of the water on the shore. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. We did encounter the bugs but they were gone by 6:45pm as the owner said they would be and they occurred the day previously at another restaurant.. of 3 visits they only appeared once and from talking to all the locals, it is an inexplicable act of nature. If the bugs are out, dine later in the evening or find an indoor restaurant. However MBC is not to be missed!

Don’t pay any attention to any of the negative reviews, we almost didn’t go because of them but we are so glad we went. This is the only spot on the island that you can sit and dine right on the waters edge, you have 180 degree water view and it is so amazing. The food and drinks are next level and the staff and owner are super friendly and attentive. We sat there for 2 hrs just enjoying and relaxing watching the view. We did other restaurants but none have a view, atmosphere, food, or service even close to this. Don’t miss out on this place!!

Splendid beach, shower, toilette, parking, grassy picnic place, soft sand, palms, wonderful scenery of mountains, corals to snorkel - what else you need for happiness?

Moreea, wonderful Island. Highly recommend diving with Aquablue. They have a novel-old program where one dives with a old fashioned helmet supplied with aer from the boat. Vincent and his assistant photographer, Aude are wonderful and the experience is magnificent. No need to be certified for scuba diving. Even young children can do it. Sting rays, small inoffensive sharks and lots of tropical fish. Great adventure. Highly recommended.

Ah, another stunning beach! Every single beach on these islands is a gem, because this place is truly a paradise on earth. The crystal-clear waters, the powdery sand, the lush greenery... it's all just so breathtakingly beautiful!

Waterfalls
Located in Moorea, 'Āfareaitu Waterfall is a picturesque natural attraction that can be reached through a short and pleasant walk along the river and through the forest. The trail offers a serene ambiance, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful picnic. Accessible from Haapiti, visitors can drive inland after passing the hospital to reach this hidden gem.
The large waterfall is worth the hike to see. Driving into the start of the path shortens the hike but the drive is a bit rough. Park at the end of driveway in locals driveway. He's there asking for some money. We paid him about $2 USD fair enough, he doesn't speak much English. Heading to the right is the large waterfall, we headed off that direction for an easy walk. Then we came to the 1st stream to cross, no problem we all made it dry. The pathway became more rough. The 2nd stream crossing was a bit more difficult 2 out of 3 got wet on this crossing. Then we came to the bit of a scramble up some rocks maybe 10 to 12 ft where someone left a rope that helped. A short distance after that were the falls. Nice area to hangout and enjoy the falls.

Do not enter the pool. The guardians will be waiting for you. Nice hike. Lots of down trees and branches. Wear proper shoes..

Fairly easy 30 minute hike to the falls. We got to see a fresh water eel as well
Michele W — Google review
It was a nice easy hike to the waterfall, but very little water was coming down. Clearly just dry season so not much to see. Very small amount of water pooled at the base so we did not swim. Still a nice hike through the beautiful property. The owner of the property was waiting to show us where to park. He charged us approximately 2$ for parking. We had read this from other reviews as well and we're prepared to pay. The drive up to the property was very bumpy as it was not paved so something to be aware of. No guide needed, it is a well traveled trail. Wear decent shoes, I would not recommend doing this in flipflops or sandals.

Beautiful hike from Āfaeaitu village, ends at a waterfall where you can swim with lots of crayfish and some shy freshwater eels. 🌟 Attention 🌟 if you are wearing any bug spray / insect repellent for the hike, wash it off you before you swim in the waterfall. Otherwise you risk harming the animals that live there. You can use an empty water bottle to collect some freshwater, walk away from the waterside, then pour the freshwater over you (do this several times) to remove the bug spray. Please be respectful of the path and of the people who live on the way by the dirt road. Do not be loud, do not leave trash, do not take any fruit. Lovely hike with mostly well kept trail but it is so hard to find any info about it and the Alltrails route is wrong. Here are some coordinates to help you. You can copy and paste these into Google Maps so you don't lose your way. Looks like a lot of parking available at the sports centre / sale omnisport behind the police municipale -17.550900,-149.793000 Start the hike by walking straight until the end of the dirt road. The same one where you see B2o lodge village on the Google maps. If you look up and to the right you will see the top of the waterfall in the distance -17.548600,-149.803000 The dirt road ends into a jungle path so the hike then becomes shaded -17.548100,-149.806000 Continue along jungle path -17.547200,-149.810000 You'll cross two rivers once you're close to the waterfall. -17.547200,-149.810000 -17.546400,-149.812000 When you are very close to the waterfall the path gets a bit less taken care of but just for a very short walk. Then you arrive! 🌊

We took this hike earlier in the morning (7:30) after some rain during the night. It was a bit slippery in spots and a bunch of the flowers had been washed off onto the trail. There were a few fallen trees that we had to navigate through, again nothing too difficult. But it was still a wonderful hike with great views on the way up. We were alone at the falls for about an hour then turned around and headed back to our car. We’d parked by the water station just off the main road as we had read that the road ahead from that point was difficult for smaller vehicles, and we were glad we did. We also did not run into the gentlemen that tries to charge you to pass “his property “ although on the way down we did run into another couple that had been accosted by him. They spoke French which allowed them to communicate that they didn’t have any money with them and he let them pass.
Chris G — Google review
Rough road up to a parking area and 200 francs per person paid. We arrived before anyone else, hiked to the big waterfall first. After heavy rain the day before, the trail was slick but doable. Downed trees, particularly on the trail to the small falls created obstacles, but anyone with some fitness can make the climbs up. Both trails combined distance in/out was about 3 miles. Very pretty waterfalls and worth the effort.
Ronald H — Google review
We took this route to the waterfall. Unfortunately we didn’t speak French so we paid this random man 200xpf. There was no receipt provided Reading the reviews it seems consistent. He claims it’s his land which would be incredible if true imagine that being your back yard. Anyway the route was relatively easy, slightly slippy in places. Once you get to the top, it’s worth it especially if you get in. The water isn’t the clearest and the stones are the slippiest so be careful but it was a good feeling to stand underneath a teaming waterfall

If you're looking for an unforgettable diving experience in Moorea, look no further than Moorea Blue Diving. Nestled near the stunning landscapes of the island, this diving center offers a warm welcome and exceptional service from a dedicated team. Whether you’re a seasoned diver or just getting back into it after some time away, they ensure that every aspect of your dive is covered with top-notch equipment and a strong emphasis on safety.
I can't praise this place enough! We got certified as scuba divers here with Sebastián. He was lovely, as was everyone else there we met in the mornings. Diving around the bungalows at the Manava was incredible, but nothing compares to the real diving. A short maybe 10-15 minute ride out via boat took us to the most incredible dive spot my husband and I have seen. We had already done some diving as part of Discover Scuba classes in Costa Rica, and since getting certified back in February, we have dived at the Great Barrier Reef and Fiji. We maintain that this was still the most incredible diving and experience was have had. Oh, and the little snacks and coffees on the boat and in the shop, incredible! Thanks guys for such a lovely experience. We hope to come back to see you!
Anna H — Google review
Located inside the resort, this dive center is well-organized and professional. The staff are friendly and efficient, and everything from briefing to boat entry runs smoothly. There’s both an indoor shower facility with towels provided and a small outdoor rinse area, which is super convenient after diving. We spotted eagle rays and lemon sharks, part of the area’s unique marine ecosystem. Right outside the resort, there’s also a small local spot that’s great for a quick snack or casual lunch between dives — good food and easy access.

My dad and I dove with Moorea Blue Diving as part of a multi-island scuba trip, and it was one of the highlights of our journey. The instructors were incredibly safety-focused, which gave us a lot of confidence—especially since we hadn’t been diving in two years. We started with a much-needed refresher dive that set us up perfectly for our later dives in Rangiroa and Fakarava. We did two additional dives with Moorea Blue and were lucky enough to see several lemon sharks, including an impressive 10-footer! The dive shop itself is beautiful, and the owners—a lovely couple from France—along with the rest of the crew, created such a lively and welcoming atmosphere. It was a great mix of professionalism and fun. Highly recommend Moorea Blue Diving to anyone visiting Moorea, whether you're a beginner or an experienced diver.

I can’t say enough great things about this team. We had our gear but they always were willing to help with the set ups and checks. We dove for 5-6 days every day with them! All our guides were fun and knowledgeable, calm, professional, and incredibly patient. Their relaxed approach made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Honestly, this is one of the best dive operations I’ve ever gone out with. Every morning we came, had a chat with them, I had a cup of hot fantastic coffee,( I brought my croissant and pain au chocolat) and had a fantastic breakfast with a view while everyone was getting ready. Also their location is very nice, at the bay, last bungalow of the hotel. With free parking. They gave us a T-shirt as a present for doing dives with them! Very nice!

We had two great days of scuba diving with Moorea Blue Diving. The crew were super welcoming, helpful, all the equipment was prepared and ready to go when we arrived in the morning. The guides explained the dive sites and what to expect very well! Highly recommend, super professional operator 🙂

This is THE dive shop in Moorea. Their efficiency, professionalism, and experience sets them apart. Thank you Diane for helping set it all up, Stephane for helping me in the boat, and Fanny as our dive master. The dives were great and we saw lemon sharks, turtles, stone fish, octopus and many other creatures that Fanny pointed to us . Thanks again!

We had a pleasant experience at Moorea Blue Diving. Very nice and structured booking upfront before the start of our journey. Saves time. All Guides and the whole team were very friendly, calm and professional. The Gear was in good condition and clean. The divecenter is located in a resort, but you can join from the outside and park there. We had a warm welcome with coffee, water and bananas. Stephan was a really calm and professional guide. His experience and a bit of good fortune made it possible to see a a lot of the animals of the reef. Highlights were the Lemon Sharks and Turtles. Also a swordfish stopped by, but this might have been just pure luck. We would be happy to dive again!

Transportation service
Terevau is one of the companies that offer round trips from the Papeete ferry terminal to Moorea. The company provides a smooth and organized experience, with efficient luggage handling and comfortable seating on their boats. Travelers can easily book tickets online for adults and vehicles, ensuring a hassle-free journey. The boat ride from Papeete to Moorea takes approximately 30 minutes, offering beautiful views if the weather is clear.
Terevau is a very organized and well run ferry company. We sat inside the ferry and arrived on Moorea in less than an hour. Inside and outside decks of the ferry are clean. No seating in the outside areas. We stood outside to see Moorea as we got very close. All of the checked baggage was placed on a shelf outside shortly after arrival. Starting in Tahiti, we arrived at the ferry terminal, bought our tickets and. Checked our luggage. The ferry terminal has a small limited cafe upstairs with seating overlooking the water. I recommend walking across the street from the ferry terminal (Papeete) to Kon Tiki Coffeeshop for coffee if you have time in the morning.
BLS — Google review
I booked two tickets online from Moorea to Tahiti. On the day of departure, the 14:45 ferry (which I originally chose) mysteriously disappeared from the schedule. I went to the port around noon to check. A lady at the counter, who could barely speak English, vaguely said there was a “technical problem.” Fine. I asked her if she can confirm that the 16:45 ferry still running? She said yes. So we came back at 16:15. At the counter, we’re suddenly told “You need to hurry,” and they hand us completely different tickets for another company. Obviously, we missed that ferry. They then casually toss at us new tickets for some 17-something boat, with an disgraceful attitude. What kind of circus is this? Why didn’t anyone just tell us, hours earlier, “Hey, your original boat is canceled, here are your options”? Instead, they act clueless, hide behind the language barrier, and leave you scrambling last minute. This isn’t just bad it’s incompetence.
Frentoni K — Google review
Free luggage drop off is convenient, makes it easy to board the ferry. Some ramps and stairs to make your way on/off the ferry. Ferry has a nice cafeteria. Boat is clean lots of seating inside and topside if you want the outdoors. Crossing was fast and smooth with only a small amount seas to create ship motion.
J W — Google review
Our flight landed on the mainland Tahiti. We are staying on Moorea. Upon landing we gathered our bags and a quick shuttle to the port. Our bags were stored below and picked up in the Moorea port. The captain smoothly backed out and accelerated smoothly to a 12 mile quick ride to our new island of Moorea. Very smooth and organized.
David M — Google review
I want to give their service more than 5 star. Although the ship may not look fancy, but the staff and the team of this company are super friendly and helpful. We left our wallet with passports in Mo’orea and their team did quite a few phone calls and coordinations to bring our wallet from an Avis rental car at Moorea by next ferry to Tahiti Amazing support. Additional info for ppl: if you have large baggage , it has to go to the large baggage section ( like checked bag for airlines) .

Reserve your car in advance. It only takes about 12 cars between Tahiti and Moorea. Has a snack bar with drinks and sandwiches. Sitting outside is great.

Fare Maheata is a relaxed beachfront guesthouse with airy bungalows featuring kitchenettes and opportunities for kayaking. The place offers tiny rooms that give off a hostel vibe, but it also boasts a rustic yet charming restaurant with a waterside view. Guests can choose to dine on the beach or in the covered open-air dining room. The food is delicious, fresh, and well-seasoned, making it worth visiting multiple times.
This was a great place to eat. It was a five minute walk from the Hilton and worth every step the food at the Hilton just lack flavor this place brings it to you in spades. My wife got the grilled mackerel and I got the poke. Our table was located in the water, yes in the water with fish swimming around our feet (you can get an actual table if you want) and we sat in the water and ate. Such a great experience. The owner who lives on site was just such a delight.

An absolutely wonderful place! The food was not only incredibly delicious but prepared with so much love that each dish felt like a small work of art — both in taste and presentation. The location is simply breathtaking: you sit right by the sea, even with your feet in the water, and enjoy the sunset. Everything was very clean and well-maintained, which made the experience even more enjoyable. What stood out the most was the staff — warm, welcoming, and truly like family. From the very first moment, you feel cared for and at home. A place to relax, enjoy, and return to. Absolutely recommended! 🌺

Food was delicious! Had the freshest fish and octopus caught of the day. Food prices are on a little bit of the higher end. Drinks were good and our server was amazing! The food here was fabulous. The drinks were a bit sweet so I stuck to beer and wine. But OMG how fun is it to dip your toes in The ocean while you eat. Little fish were swimming by constantly and we even saw a stingray. Great place for lunch but they aren’t open for dinner and it’s best to reserve a table so you are in the lagoon.

School center
Situated on the grounds of the former InterContinental Resort, the Moorea Dolphin Center offers various programs throughout the day, including a 3:15pm session. Whether you choose to participate in a program and interact with the dolphins in their lagoon or simply observe them from the resort's overwater bridges, you'll be captivated by their stunning aquatic acrobatics. While access to the center was once unrestricted during the resort's operation, it now requires advance reservation.
People need to understand that this center is in the old hotel which a local told us was just re bought! So 3-4 years of Reno. The dolphins were born in captivity and cannot live on their own in the wild!!! They even tried to open the doors once and they came back. Thank you to the people who take care of these awesome animals that otherwise wouldn’t be alive without you!! You can see the dolphins love people and want to show their smarts off. It’s just a situation that needs support while the dolphins are still there. ❤️
Samantha A — Google review
Went past this place today and saw the whole intercontinental resort has been closed down and boarded up for good. Then I saw a dolphin swimming in the caged off pool, with not a single person in sight. Very sad that intercontinental decided to keep this part going. If you love dolphins and want to see them, don’t support their captivity. Book a tour with a local operator to go and see them swimming happily in the wild with their pods instead.
Julian K — Google review
Ignore the bad reviews, we had a great time here. They have 2 dolphins one is 43 years old (they usually only live to 25) and blind, both were born in captivity. They have a huge area to play and swim in. The staff was great, we got a private tour and got to get up close and personal with the animals. It was great!
Phil R — Google review
I agree- don’t read the bad reviews. They are mainly from people who are judging the book by its cover rather than actually knowing what’s going on inside. It was an intimate experience, with care takers that passionately cared for the animals, and have for over 20 years. The dolphins aren’t asked to be theatrical, but instead you are introduced to an individual being. It was amazing. And our 2 year old had a fantastic time. They are very open about the fact that the dolphin experience boomed as a trending activity and now that is reversed. But just because the popularity went down, the dolphins bred during the boom, the live animals, didn’t go away. They still need to be fed everyday and taken care of. And that requires money. If they weren’t here, they would be at a different facility. By supporting this business, you aren’t going to change the industry. The statement has been made. By supporting this business you are supporting Koa and Heena and their wellbeing.
Alexis G — Google review
This was a beautiful experience. Very small batch of visitors at a time ..just 4 ..the dolphins seemed well cared for. The program was educational, informational , and the service provided really really worth it! This is an excellent opportunity for families take their young children to learn and interact with these magnificent creatures. The caretakers of the dolphins were really passionate about taking care of them.
D F — Google review
Sadly disappointing. The dolphins are kept in small, unnatural enclosures and made to perform tricks for tourists. This felt more like a show business than a sanctuary. Not recommended for anyone who cares about animal welfare.
Dario V — Google review
DO NOT SUPPORT! Ridiculous that in this time this kind of attraction is possible at a high end resort!! Absurd! It brought tears to my eyes seeing these majestic, smart and lovely animals captured in a tiny “natural” basin. The basin is at most 5 meters deep....these animals live in the open ocean!!!!! They need more than that. And the cover of “education” come on...that doesn’t make any sense. Why do you have to touch or swim in captivity with the animal just to get educated about them. Education can happen on a boat on the ocean when seeing these animals in their natural habitat. Which gives you way more insights then in a basin btw.
Denise G — Google review
Terrible practice that should be against the law. If you want to see dolphins take a boat out and see them in the wild, not in confined spaces

Coral Gardeners is a non-governmental organization located in Cooks Bay that focuses on reef reforestation. The group of young people working at Coral Gardeners aims to raise awareness about the environment, particularly coral reefs. They offer an Eco Tour where visitors can learn about their mission and how they can contribute to reef conservation efforts. The tour provides insights into the impact of global warming, storms, industries, and tourism on coral reefs.
A brilliant company with an inspiring vision for the preservation of coral reef across the world. You can tell the passion for the project from all who work here. The tour includes a highly informative presentation on coral, what the company does and the company's mission to save the coral before heading out to the reef to see what they have achieved. A definite must do for anyone who likes snorkeling and enjoying the beautiful islands such as Moorea and wants to learn more about how important the coral is. A special shout out to our tour guide who spoke perfect English despite only learning it for 7 months!

SICK experience! 😍🌊 We adopted our first coral with Coral Gardeners like five years ago, and finally got the chance to visit their HQ in Moorea. It was so cool to actually go see the corals in person, hang out at their place, and spend the day with some of the team. Everyone was super welcoming, the weather was perfect, and we learned a ton about coral restoration and how Coral Gardeners got started. But honestly, the best part was the people — they were just awesome. I legit wanted to be friends with all of them 😂 If you're in Moorea, definitely do the half-day experience. 100% worth it.

We had a wonderful visit with Coral Gardeners, our guides were super knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what they are doing. This is an amazing passion project and should be on everyones must visit list. I have followed them on Instagram for several years but seeing what they are doing in person just can't be beat! The gardens are extraordinary and we had a really fun time helping to clean and care for the corals. It was really great for my kids, age 13 and 16, to see this sort of project and be able to be a part of it. We are scuba certified and hope that one day they will add a scuba package as part of their tours as that would have been easier for us to help out as we are not the best at snorkelling, lol! Adopt a Coral, save the ocean!!

Super nice guy and a really lovely family operation with the fruit and juice service to conclude the experience. Highly recommend!

Terani was a great guide and took me and my son on a fantastic 2 hour trip. We were able to zip around on the jet ski's, see a quieter part of the island, and go to a coral garden for a snorkel. We even saw a whale breaching in the distance. When we were finished, we were greeted with fresh fruit and juice on the shore. It was a wonderful, unforgettable experience.

Terani and his jet ski tour are both top notch! He was able to accommodate a last minute tour for my family of 4. When the conditions changed on the day of our tour, he even called other tour operators to see if there were better options for us on different parts of the island. We ended up staying with him and had the best time! He stopped and gave some important cultural info about the island along the way, and took pictures of our fam and posted them on his Instagram! HIs assistant was awesome too, she was super kind and funny and had fresh fruit and juices waiting for us on the beach for when we cam in. The highlight of this tour to Motu Fareone was the incredible opportunity to swim in crystal clear water with dozens of black tip sharks and stingrays. The initial strange feeling at the sight of that amount of sharks turned out to be unfounded. The sharks circle you but swerve away when they get close, but the stingrays come right up on you looking for food, which is a little unsettling. It was really extraordinary though, and incredibly beautiful. We felt very lucky to be able to experience such a sight. The boat ride was pleasant and the crew picked up some conch along the way. We had the lunch on this motu with beautiful highlights, coconut demonstrations and a lesson on how to make ceviche. It was a really fun day though! We stopped before the lunch at the coral gardens between Motu Tiahura and Motu Fareone, where again you can watch plenty of colourful fish and the odd moray along with plenty of stingrays. Barbecue chicken and poison cru was prepared and served, accompanied by a lesson of how to make coconut milk and poison cru and followed by coconut leaf hat weaving and information on local medicinal plants, including noni fruit, uru, Tahitian pine and quite a few other local plants. The tour was concluded by dropping us off at our hotel. All in all, a great intimate experience (the 12 people are not that many, we also had the luck to be only 8 onboard, especially when compared to the 20-30 people on some other boats that we’ve seen, and which operate like conveyor belt factories). All in all, a professional, friendly, happy tour with lots of snorkelling and photo opportunitues and plenty of information by a multi-talented local. Well done!

Beautiful small island off of Moorea. We snorked, hiked, and kayaked every day. The snorkeling between the two islands is listed in the top 10 in the world. Itt was amazing.

This island was the best end spot to land at. After a long day of boating and checking out Moorea. We stopped here on our tour to be fed delicious Tahitian buffet of home cooked food. Our tour guide taught us about the Tahitian dance for men, how to open a coconut and to make raw tuna ceviche style in coconut milk. It was a wonderful day. Thanks to Paradise Tours in Tahiti and Fara Spector the best travel agent for recommending it. She was honest and upfront and treated us like family right from the start. What an amazing day!

Embark on a thrilling cross-island adventure with the Moorea Fun Roadster, where you can feel the freedom of the open road as you explore the scenic coasts at your own pace. The vehicles are well-maintained and come with helpful tips for exploring the island's heavenly corners. While not the most advanced, these roadsters provide an enjoyable driving experience and come with a detailed map of must-see locations. It's highly recommended for those seeking an essential way to tour Moorea.
What a blast! So much fun. When our concierge called about a reservation for us, they said they were out unless I can drive a stick. Ha. We drove it all around the island, stopped for lunch and just generally had a great time exploring the island.

The buggy is beautiful and great fun to drive. It’s an ideal way to spend an afternoon, or longer if you wish to explore the inner island. Stephane is incredibly kind and generous, and offered to pick us up and drop us off at our hotel. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Moorea.

So much fun!! One of the best days we spent driving these around. They aren't the most advanced or well oiled machines but they get the job done and we're just so much fun. Stephan was great and they had the best map of the island and locations to see.
Jenny Z — Google review
The buggy was amazing!! Fun to drive and explore the island in. Stephane was perfect - on time, quick to respond to any questions, informative when showing us where to go and overall just a very nice person. The 8 hour rental was enough time to cruise the island and do our own self-guided circle island tour which is very much our style. No cattle calls on our vacation. The buggy rental helped create the best day of our trip to the beautiful island of Moorea. Merci beaucoup Stéphane!!!

Stephan met us on time at Hilton Moorea parking lot. He showed us the details about the car, took our drivers license to record information for the insurance, pointed out spots on the island and off we went. The car itself is definitely has wear and tear, seatbelt is clunky, car engine is very loud and the steering is not the best. Would recommend driving very carefully if you book this. He does require you to fill up the tank or pay 4500 flat fee after. Took 3 hours to drive around the entire island with many shopping stops along the way.

Unique way to explore the island. We enjoyed the ZTR rental. Thanks!
Wilson G — Google review
The cars are lots of good fun and a great way to explore the island, and even more importantly, it was the owner, Stefan who was amazing from start to finish. It was a stress-free experience renting the roadsters from him. He was easy going and trustworthy (we never had to worry about being done over like you normally do when you rent a car from a typical rental company). We rented two different vehicles on two separate days and the whole process was really smooth: the first time we were picked up and dropped off to where we were staying and the second time, the car was delivered to us. We can't praise enough for how helpful, friendly and genuine Stefan was. The business is a rare find with exceptional customer service and a must-try if you are on Moorea.
Scott D — Google review
Punctual drop off and fun but overused, overpriced and definitely unsafe to drive after dark. We had a mini jeep with 57000km on the clock. The transmission was clunky, the brakes were not very responsive and the handbrake simply didn’t work anymore. At night you won’t be able to see much: the lights are weak and you will be blinded by the dashboard, completely unsafe to drive. At AU$300 per day do yourself a favour and rent a decent car.

Mont Rotui is the second highest peak on Moorea, standing at nearly 900 meters. The challenging hike to its summit offers breathtaking views of Cook Bay and Opunohu Bay. The trail involves crossing several levels and is recommended for experienced hikers, especially during dry weather. Hikers are advised to start early in the morning, carry an ample water supply, and be prepared for some technical passages.

Ameniti operates two fast ferry boats between Moorea and Tahiti primarily for passenger service but with limited vehicle capacity. We took the Ameriti ferry from Moorea to Tahiti. It wasn’t immediately clear to us where to line up for the ferry when we arrived in the dark at 5:30a. When we turned into the passenger pickup area, we were directed to exit and the return to a queue to the East shown as “Quai des ferry” on Google Maps. The vehicle compartment is quite small on Ameriti 6. able to handle only five vehicles. One drives up a ramp to get on and then maneuver in very close quarters under the direction of staff who may or may not speak English. Aremiti 5 has considerably more space for about 30 vehicles, with a similar roll on roll off arrangement. Note that Sundays have limited service.

Well where to start. First by thanking Doug and his wife from North Carolina for recommending Rudy’s. We got the last table in a full Restaurant after being picked up from our Hotel by Rudy’s Dad. This family owned and run restaurant is a real treat. Yep, this was my FAVORITE dinner place on the island of Moorea. I’m not a huge fish eater, but wanted to experiment on the parrot fish and my goodness, was the best fish I’ve ever had in my life! The parrot fish itself plus the French twist with the sauce is absolutely to die for. I will be dreaming of this until I return to the island to get more. Owners were super sweet too. Definitely go :)

What an incredible gem! The food here was delectable! We had the parrotfish stuffed with crab (sauce was heavenly), the scallops and shrimp provencales (another addictive sauce) which was cooked perfectly, and the mussels gratin. Super impressed. The food doesn’t look fancy but tasted incredible! Must try on Moorea. Free pickup and drop off from hotel as well. Excellent service and the restaurant is filled with clients.

They were able to accommodate a last-minute reservation, and as we walked in, it smelled like a traditional French cuisine, garlic and fresh baked bread! Escargot is a must, the raw tuna in curry, which is a classic local dish was excellent, the best raw fish I’ve had in a long time and was not too acidic like a traditional ceviche! We got the parrot fish stuff with crab and the duck, which was super tender and flavorful. Highly recommend the reviews for itself.

Top Jet & Top Quad Moorea offers an exhilarating 1-hour guided Jet Ski tour, allowing you to explore the stunning lagoon of Moorea. The tour provides breathtaking views of the islands and turquoise waters. It is priced per person with two people sharing one Jet Ski, and participants must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver's license. Additionally, the company also organizes ATV adventures that are highly recommended for visitors to Moorea.
This was an amazing experience, we did the Quad ride in the morning and the jet ski in the afternoon. Both guides where great, Fred was especially funny and made this a really memorable experience. We were the only 2 doing the Quad ride in the morning so it was like a private tour, I think this was just the luck of the day because I couldn't understand why more people would not want to do this. If you are thinking about doing the Quad ride I wouldn't hesitate as this is unforgettable. The jet ski tour was also really good and would be suitable to all, we had 4 couples on our tour of various ages. The guide made sure we all felt included and safe at all times. Swimming with the black tipped sharks and stingrays was something we will remember forever along with spotting green turtles and the thrill of the ride. I wouldn't hesitate to book the combo again as it really did make for a special day out.

Our adventure with Top Jet and Top Quad Moorea was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we hit the water on our jet skis, we were mesmerized by the stunning lagoons, vibrant coral, and fascinating marine life. Our guide’s expertise and warmth made the experience even more magical, especially when swimming with sharks and stingrays. This was truly a top-tier, thrilling experience that we would recommend to anyone visiting French Polynesia!
Deandre W — Google review
Let me start this review with, this company is a great tour company. This is the second time I've used them and they were great both times. First excursion was in 2017 on jet skis and this time snorkeling with whales. We came on the Oceania cruise line and was near impossible to get off our of ship, that part was the worst. I immediately emailed Top Jet & Top quad to let them know the situation. They were very responsive and understanding. We went back and forth a few times so we could make the excursion. They were about to leave but we were finally able to get to the dock and they had waited for us. I would give them 100/100 stars for just that. What an incredible adventure/tour. I selected the whale snorkeling excursion because Moorea is one of the places you can swim with whales and it totally delivered. We felt completely safe with the company and with our guides. Our tour guide was thorough with the instructions he provided before we dropped in. We didn't get into the water right away because sharks were in the area. Obviously our safety was their top priority. Once we were able to get into the water we immediately heard the whale singing and could see it near the floor of the ocean. We stayed long enough that we didn't feel rushed. Things to consider if you're going to book this cruise..1) plan accordingly and in advance. Now that only 6 people can be in the water at a time, the bookings fill up. So if you really want to do this excursion, don't wait until the last minute. 2) you're going to need to swim out and away from the tour boat, it wasn't difficult for me but it is a consideration 3) you will need to wear a life jacket if you don't have a 3mm wetsuit. I bought a wetsuit as I personally do not like to snorkel with a life jacket..check with the tour company for the latest information about this so you're prepared 4) don't wear/bring a full face snorkel mask. Bring a traditional mask as most tour companies don't permit them for safety reasons. 5) you don't have to get into the water to see the whale's.. you can see them breach from the boat like we did.. Our second stop was to swim with turtles and we certainly did. Overall wonderful excursion with an awesome company. They have first class customer service. I would definitely recommend and do this again .

Thank you to the Top Jet and Quad team. We did both trips and were blown away by the great insights and information about the ecology of the islands and marine life. Fred our guide was super and we were most grateful for him finding dolphins, sharks, rays and turtles!! Incredible has never been used so many times! The quad tour through the hills learning about the agriculture and history of the land was supplemented with ‘Incredible’ views of the island. To get the best out of this island I would honestly say that these tours are a must. Thank you 🙏

This experience is a thrill a minute the views are breathtaking. It feels like you’re gliding on air the glass waters. I can’t even describe how beautiful the mountains, the scenery the sea life that you get to encounter your guide is unbelievable takes care of you 100% Small groups great value and plenty of time to enjoy.

If you only have time for one activity during your time in moorea, I highly recommend it being a quad experience! We picked this activity because it was adventurous + allowed us to experience a lot of the island in a short period of time. In our 3.5 hour tour we saw pineapple fields, went to the peaks of 2 mountain areas, and road to several local spots. The tour is a mix of off road paths and paved streets. It was a good mix of “off roading” and a beautiful ride. My husband and I opted to each ride our own ATV. They very comfortably sit 2 people but we just wanted to ride our own. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about all things moorea and was a great time! Our group of 6 people (plus him) made for an intimate experience. Bonus points that he explained everything in French and English because our group had a mix of people!
Katelyn M — Google review
I had such a fun time riding and driving the jet skis. The tour guide was very comfortable to be around and super friendly. The views were awesome and the snorkeling was super memorable when we swam with the sharks and the sting rays that we could touch and even kiss if you wanted. I strongly recommend, and thought the 2 hours was perfect in length if not too short. The food truck outside the beach was also very tasty, so I definitely recommend you check that out!! Thanks guys!

Loved this place nestled in the middle of the water bangalôs. The crepe is delicious. Dinner time you have the opportunity to see sharks. Some people prefer to come for the sunset but the sharks are nice too.

We enjoyed our dinners at the creperie, where we ordered both savory and sweet crepes. There is somewhat of a limited menu but they accommodated special requests. Staff was friendly and attentive. All of the seating is outside with a limited number of tables under cover near the bar. The remainder of the tables are situated on the boardwalk in somewhat close quarters.

We were pleasantly surprise by the delicious crepe, they have a variety of selections for both galette and crepe. My favorite was the teiki galette and the Suzette crepe. The staff was super friendly. They only have a few tables and were almost full but nicely accommodated us a table, make sure to reserve in advance. The sunset view was incredible! During our dinner, a shark family greeted us and stays around for over an hour which occupied our kids the whole dinner time :) Kids menu is great and is free for 12 and younger!

Definitely come here at sunset for a delicious crêpe dinner. You will not be disappointed when you look down in the water and see all the fish and sharks swimming around. The food is really good and the service is spectacular. Everyone here is so friendly and the quality is way up there. Sit back, grab a beer and a great dinner and enjoy the view.
Jerry Z — Google review
This restaurant is on Hilton property. Hours are sporadic and they relocate due to weather. It is located on the pier center between overwater bungalows. Our group thought it strange to make a crepe place a dinner spot. There are only two dinner choices a night at the Hilton. They rotate between three locations and when wind or rain is expected they relocate to the buffet area. I have posted the menu to allow to make a choice if it is right for you. Location is cool at night. It is indoor/outdoor. Mostly outdoor. Most seats are near an edge and often black tip shark are swimming below. The night we had reservations, it relocated to the inside buffet area. As such none of our group could order a fish crepe so we ordered off the other outdoor relocated restaurant menu. It sounds better but not so much. But better than fish in a crepe. After dinner off the other menu we tried dessert crepes. They just didn’t do it for us. We tried the Normandy, Suzette and Bounty between 6 of us. We didn’t finish one. They may be for some and my wife loves crepes, but these did not do it for us. With limited food choices here it’s hard to avoid when you stay for a week. I have read so many other reviews about eating off property and I would have to agree. It may cost more but it tastes better. I also enjoy being out with the locals. In closing my review is on the down side but I must say the staff at this restaurant are pleasant, helpful and always have a smile. They are what make this location.
David M — Google review
There are much better places to watch fish, rays and reef sharks while eating! Try Snack Mahana in Moorea, Coco Beach in Moorea, or La Plage de Maui in Tahiti Iti instead. We were seated at an outer table near a guest bungalow with no lighting over the water so our view was very dark. The inner tables were much brighter. We happened to see one eagle ray as we were approaching our seats but then absolutely NO wildlife during dinner. I kept looking down throughout dinner but besides the fact that it was very dark in the water, it did not appear that anything swam past or under us. I realize you can't control wildlife but our experience was nothing like previous reviews. It was also a very windy evening and everyone's plastic menus kept blowing into the ocean. The staff kept blaming customers for losing the menus instead of proactively anchoring the menus! To their credit, they did offer us to move tables to something in the covered area beside the kitchen. This restaurant only opens after sunset so it is naturally very dark if you are not in the inner part of the restaurant. There is a beer happy hour here from 4 to 5 p.m. before sunset. Food and drink were as expected. Our airbnb host made a reservation for us here upon request. We did not stay overnight at the Hilton, but the one thing we do recommend is happy hour drinks on the main bar deck at the hotel facing the sunset. This was however a nice experience to be able to see the property from the perspective of the overwater pontoon. I ate the Papy Claude duck pear Roquefort crepe with a glass of Brut cider. The Roquefort was overpowering. I'm a Hilton Honors member. But I would recommend leaving this property for lunch and dinner whenever possible to experience the real Tahitian food and culture!

Public Beach, also known as Temae Plage Publique, is a serene and picturesque spot on Moorea's east coast. The beach boasts white sandy shores, clear waters, and is surrounded by lush hills and palm trees. It offers ample space for visitors to relax, swim with stingrays, and enjoy a leisurely day out. The area is popular for snorkeling with vibrant marine life and stunning coral formations.
This beach is a wonderful spot, especially for snorkeling enthusiasts. The lagoon is beautiful and full of marine life, making it a great place to explore underwater. Parking is easy and convenient, and the absence of a nearby road adds to the tranquility of the location. It’s calm, peaceful, and perfect for a relaxing day by the water.

Nice, cozy beach, lots of parking, you can have a snack on the spot. The ocean floor is a bit rocky, if you have rubber slippers, it's better with them. The water is clean and transparent, even near the shore there are a lot of small fish. The beach is quite narrow.
Nic K — Google review
Gorgeous beach with great snorkeling with lots of tropical fish and crystal clear water. Be aware that the current on some days is strong and some people walk down the beach and swim with the current and then swim to shore and walk back. Some areas are shallow above the coral so be careful. The coral is gorgeous!!
Jerry L — Google review
One of the best beaches on Moorea. No facilities... You could walk towards the Sofitel where they have a beach bar.
Ronald P — Google review
Best snorkeling experience of my life!! So many fish, sharks, and rays! Rays were pretty close to the beach (maybe 35 feet from shore) and so big! Coral garden was absolutely stunning. Clams, schools of fish, etc. Highly recommend shoes for the beach :) Fish right along the shore for super beginner snorkelers!
Ellen H — Google review
The beach is beautiful and the blue colour is amazing (also recommend viewing it from above at Toatea Point). However, taking away 1 star due to the swimming just being purely unsafe! I myself am a very strong experienced swimmer, and even with fins it was impossible to fight against the current!! It is dangerous, especially when the tide is coming in or if it is windy. Stay very close to the beach, and don’t swim with small kids or without flippers! You can see how strong the current is from my videos. Enter the water from the East side of the beach, and let the current take you floating down towards the Sofotel bungalows. The coral was nice and the water was clear. Saw quite a lot of fish, a few sharks, titan triggerfish.
Daniel H — Google review
Best beach and snorkeling in Moorea! It looks like a swimming pool, and the marine life is rich and colorful. There's a lot of current so fins are highly recommended.
Cristina M — Google review
We stumbled upon this hidden gem of a beach while exploring the island and it became our "go to" place to catch a couple hours of sun, while providing us with views of water so beautiful it doesn't look real! It's a good spot to snorkel, and one day we were rewarded by seeing a migrating humpback breaching in the water just beyond the reef!

Restaurant Te Honu Iti, also known as Chez Roger, is a charming eatery located in Paopao village near the fish market, north of Moorea. The restaurant offers stunning views of Cook's Bay and the jagged mountains. Despite its unassuming appearance from the road, Te Honu Iti is renowned for its delicious food and welcoming atmosphere.
Excellent food in an amazing location. Service was a little slow but the shrimp were worth the wait. Sharks swam next to us as we ate. Good for kids. Can’t wait to come back.

We were warmly welcomed to the restaurant. The terrace offers a breathtaking view of Cooks Bay, and you can see sharks swimming around. The shrimp was delicious!

Best dinner ever!! The restaurant is right on the water and during dinner, we saw an octopus, a sting ray, a nurse shark, multiple reef sharks, an eel, and a crab! There was no wait time and they were so nice and attentive! The food was better than most of the dinner restaurants we have been to on the island. Highly recommend this place!!
Haley R — Google review
Well this place turned out to be a great find - even in the rain at night last week, it was awesome to eat alongside nurse sharks and sting rays. The staff was great and they even gave us a dish of raw fish to feed our new friends! Worth the trip for sure.
Debbie L — Google review
Quaint little off the road restaurant. You almost drive past it without noticing it. We easily got a table water side. The waiter was very nice and the menu was on a blackboard. We ordered the goat cheese salad. It’s the salad photo. The goat cheese is melted on top of a piece of toasted bread. There is a nice tomato sauce on top of the goat cheese. The bread is the croutons really. It was wonderful. Then we had the filet which was done perfectly. We also had the shrimp ravioli. Those raviolis were to die for. Hand made, these three raviolis fill you up. Cooked shrimp fills the hand crimped ravioli thin almost see through pasta. Peas on the outside, cooked vegetables, with a nice salad. The dessert was to top off a perfect dinner. The banana foster is better than I have ever had, even at $600 US a night dinners. The apple pie comes out pie size flat, making it a good size amount to serve two people if you’re already almost full from the meal. Overall, 5 stars! There are only 3 fine dining restaurants in the island and this is one of them! It doesn’t look like a fancy restaurant with marble floors but this pls e is just as good. Trust me! 800+ reviews can’t be wrong!

Came here at 6pm. First one & only while I was there. WARMED bread was served, which is a first to me in Polynesia thus far. The food is absolute delicious. Had the chicken & shrimp in lobster sauce with rice & veg. Best non-raw fish food I’ve had so far in Polynesia, rivaling my dinner at “2 Michelin star” Le Lotus in IC Tahiti. (Maybe even beating it; definitely in portion size & cost factors.) They deserve way more attention. Left satisfied & going to return tomorrow.

I ordered the scallops with peppersaus and tuna tartar. It was great🤩Cool with the reef shark that we could feed with tuna.

This place has a gorgeous view. The chef freshly prepared our lunch. The coffee was absolutely delicious, as were the tuna burgers. We saw lemon sharks swimming in the lagoon next to our table. It was beautiful view of the bay and the towering jungle peaks. Highly recommend.

Fare Tutava is a popular spot located near Opunohu Bay in Moorea, known for its wide variety of jams, marmalades, and smoothies. The fresh smoothies and juices are the highlights here, with options to add a scoop of ice cream in flavors like coconut, vanilla, or taro. While the fish burger is highly recommended, the regular beef burgers may not meet expectations.
I ordered the Tutava smoothie and it was tasty. They also sell large scarves with beautiful patterns on them at a reasonable price. There were two very friendly dogs that would come up and snuggle with you ❤️

What an amazing lil spot for lunch! I finally was able to try the raw fish with coconut and it was delicious and the fish was so fresh. It's a light fish but very tasty with a small salad and rice. My daughter had the the fish on a skewer which was also amazing. It was a white tuna, wonderfully seasoned. We also had their famous smoothies made with fresh fruit!!' It's a def a must and you won't be disappointed...Jo - Oakland, CA

Super friendly owner and staff. More than welcoming and will talk about all their offerings from food to smoothies or merchandise. I love visiting small family run spots like this. This is how you get to meet the locals and "feel" like a part of the island. The smoothies were spot on a great. Get one or 2!

Locally owned business, please support! The smoothies are lovely, made with care - even the ice cube is dyed with the edible Clitoria flower.

We are living for quite a certain time now on island of Mo'orea. This was our first stopp at Fare Tutava, which is completely family owned - we love that. We had a great breakfast there including a delicious smoothie - perfect: regular size, not just a minimized sample to taste. Price regarding cost benefit factor compared to other breakfast cafés/restaurants on island was reasonable (1800 CFP = 15 €) included two eggs made to order, bread and butter, fruit smoothie, fresh fruit, large coffee mug with separate served fresh coconut milk (so yummy). Ask for marmelade, if you'd like to have it; you'll get it and no extra charge. We enjoyed our breakfast very much (btw there's also lunch offered). Staff is very friendly and English speaking. Unfortunately our home on island is located far away from Fare Tutava, otherwise we would visit more often.

Fresh & Delicious at Street Style Smoothie & Fruit Bowl Spot!** This place is a little pricey, but totally worth it for the quality and taste! The smoothies are perfectly blended fresh, flavorful, and packed with goodness. The fruit bowls are next-level, loaded with great ripe fruit, crunchy granola, and delicious toppings that make every bite a treat. The vibe is casual and stylish, perfect for a quick healthy snack or a refreshing post-workout boost. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but you’re paying for fresh ingredients and a satisfying, Instagram-worthy meal. If you’re craving something nutritious, tasty, and beautifully presented, this spot is a must try. I recommend for a guilt free indulgence

Amazing spot!!! -Air conditioning -Kind staff -Away from the busyness of town/port -Close to a market/area can get snacks/food -Laundry able to be done for reasonable price -Able to use kitchen for cooking own meals. They will provide breakfast for $25 USD/adult. -Amazing spot on the beach/water. Able to see reef shark, sting rays and other wildlife -Snorkeling is available. A bit murky/cloudy when we were there. There is an island nearby can easily kayak to. Water is deeper in this location and snorkeling view is better/more clear there. -Access to bikes and kayaks for free. Able to rent vehicles on a daily basis ($65-75 USD/day). Can also rent vehicle in Tahiti and bring over via Ferry (Aremiti). May be the cheaper route. -WiFi is available but so so

My wife and I have stayed here twice and love it. It's close to really good restaurants and great areas to hike on the island. We love kayaking out straight from the beach and snorkeling. Having a fridge and kitchen access is also great for tasty dinners at sunset. We can't vouch for the breakfast since we didn't get it. No point when you can just buy fruit and make free coffee.

We had a small problem (our fault) and even if the organization had no responsibility at all, they were so sad that offered us a free car and free breakfast for one day. Much more customer oriented than 5 starred hotel !! Apart from that marvelous structure, lovely rooms and great position. Absolutely reccomended !!! Top !

Nice place, but service can be better; I asked for a 30 minutes late checkout, then the girl at the reception asked me: "which room are you?" I said my room number and then she said: "we have a policy of no late checkout, not even a few minutes". So why does it matter which room I am...? Of course, my bungalow was empty for the next few hours too, in which I just was sitting at the lobby. Wish it would have been differently.

We stayed 3 days at Maria beach lodge and we loved it. The lodge is very peaceful and our room was right on the beach. We loved hiking around the area, and kayaking out in the bay. Several good restaurants are around the area. Holy steakhouse was our favorite.

Such a wonderful stay and kind staff. I booked my trip late, and they even helped accommodate me by shuttling me to their other great property (Moorea Island Beach Hotel) for a few nights when availability wasn’t at this location. They are very near one another. The Honeymoon Suite at this location was maybe small for what some expected, but I found it cozy and charming (not small), and it opens onto a porch right on the water. Yes, you might see some lizards or bugs about at the property, but you are on a tropical island…that is where you decided to vacation and is a part of Island life. The yellow lizards are actually quite charming and harmless and are where Moorea gets it’s name (Yellow Lizard). The lagoon is gorgeous with wonderful snorkeling, free kayaks to explore it (I was able to swim with sea turtles and manta rays by just paddling a short distance), the sunset views are astonishing as the lagoon turns into a mirror for the sky at sunset. In the mornings you can see small and harmless sharks and rays exploring the coral as you have coffee and breakfast. I recommend a short 10 minute walk to the public beach (which was never crowded) if you want a proper swim. The coral is beautiful to explore in the lagoon, but it’s best to swim where there is a break in the coral. There are many great restaurants nearby as well as markets where you can buy your own food if you wish to cook for yourself in the hotel’s communal kitchen. I loved the common space. It was open air and charming with wonderful views. I felt so relaxed each time I sat inside or on the porch. One of the most cozy reading spots I’ve ever enjoyed. The best thing about staying at Moorea Beach Lodge is that it is not a resort, and I truly felt I was living on the island with its residents. I think you see a part of daily life and the culture of the island you would never see in a resort. I am always looking for a more authentic experience when I travel, and this is truly that but with the comfort of home. Yes, not being a resort does mean staff aren’t available all day and night, but they are always there at reasonable hours to answer any questions you might have to prepare a day excursion, arrange a ride, or even make you a dinner reservation. They even leave you a contact number in case you need assistance when they are away for the evening. I have a shellfish allergy and they were even kind enough to call the restaurant and explain for me (which was above and beyond). I have never been more relaxed in my life than enjoying a glass of wine with a book at sunset each night at this gem of a lodge in paradise. Thank you so much to the staff!

Location is great and that’s about it. Thankfully close to grocery store and restaurants as this property does not services after breakfast. You can use kitchen facilities but you’re on holidays and who wants to cook. No kettle in room. Room service is just remaking of bed. Have to ask for fresh towels. Rooster crowing most of the night and you can hear everything from other rooms! Property is well maintained but at this price it’s no 4 star resort. More like 2 star. Ants and mice in room

Scenic spot
The Three Coconuts Lookout, also known as the Three Coconut Trails, offers a vigorous hike through Moorea's wilderness. The trail showcases the island's diverse birdlife, wildlife, and plant species as you trek over mountains, ridges, and rainforests. Starting at Belvedere Lookout or Haapiti, the well-marked trail leads through forests filled with mape trees and giant bamboos before ascending to a ridge with moderate difficulty.
Hike took 2 hours to go and and 3 to get down, that's if you continue along the trail and don't turn around and go back on the trail that we walked up from the Belvedere. Once at the top enjoy the view. Going back down was a bit more advanced, several areas with rope to assist a much steeper decent. We ended up reaching the blacktop road in the vicinity of the Agricultural College, then its a 2K+ walk back up the where we parked. Public trail. We observed large hooved footprints in the mud on the way down, assumed a big goat got loose. We have since found out that wild boar have been reintroduced to Moorea. Take plenty of water and wear shoes with a good tread.
C K — Google review
Nice hike with beautiful views at the top. I started my hike at the Belvedere Lookout. There are multiple trails in the area and it can be confusing. I highly recommend using the AllTrails app. At the time of this review the trail isn’t mapped out in Google Maps. Use bug spray and bring plenty of water.
Alaa F — Google review
Great hike. A little challenging if it previously rained, but still doable. Bring good shoes! The view is exceptionally worth it.
Abby H — Google review
We walked to the look out from the street of Vaiana. At one point we had to deviate from the path. There were large barking dogs in the middle of the jungle (we were also warned about this), so we had to go a long way through the other side of the jungle. We've created our own off trail track haha The lookout itself had a great view! I would recommend not taking our way, but from the Belvedere Lookout:)
Marije W — Google review
We hiked out here from the Belvedere overlook. It took about 4 hours round trip for us as the trail was not always clear to us. I would not consider this an easy hike for beginners. There are spots that are a rough trip up or down across rocks, roots, and otherwise rough ground. We had to cross some small streams along the way. Take careful note of the map before you go. Particularly, be careful at the top as we started down the wrong side of the ridge, initially thinking the trail was a loop. For anyone not used to long hikes across at times difficult trails I would recommend choosing something else, or simply enjoying the lookouts closer to the Belvedere overlook.
Jade G — Google review
amazing viewpoint! I would highly recommend this if you're looking for a hike. It wasn't hard (although I'm from Utah and hike a lot), bring plenty of water as it is hot and humid. The trail was pretty easy, and it didn't take very long. The view is definitely worth it!
Tron G — Google review
Nice exercise on a perfect hike for at least intermediate hikers, we found some beginner hikers without water and sneaker shoes who hated it. You will be hiking in mud, rocks, roots and branches for around 7 km (4 miles) sometimes squeezing over and under fallen bushes and trees; this will take you an average of 3 h, 2h if you are in a good shape and don't spend much time taking pictures or resting. You will be mainly going up with some downhills at a moderate grade, so save some energy for your way back. Once you get to the green sign that says 'le col tetoatoa dit des 3 cocotiers alt 357 m' you will realize that there are not great views from there and that the trail keeps going up, that is only the pass, not the lookout. Keep going up for another 5 min and you will find a couple of sections with rope to assist you, and after that you will get to a clear area to have the magnificent views of the two bays and the mountain in the middle. You will realize that the trail keeps going up and actually there is a big network of trails in that area that can drop you down to other parts of the island, check All Trails app. However, if you want to go back to where you started, just go back the same way you came in. Crossing the small water streams over the rocks should not be a problem unless it's been raining a lot recently. It is going to be muddy so bring hiking shoes and mosquito repellent.
Victor D — Google review
Moderate hike from the Belvedere parking area. At first you’ll mostly go down, once you cross the first major stream, then it is a gradual hike to the saddle between two of the island’s major peaks, where you’ll be rewarded with a view of both sides of the island’s lagoons.
