Nestled in the heart of Bremerton, the USS Turner Joy Museum Ship stands as a remarkable testament to naval history. Launched in 1958 and serving valiantly until its decommissioning in 1982, this Forrest Sherman-class destroyer played a significant role during the Vietnam War. Today, it has been transformed into an engaging museum where visitors can embark on guided tours lasting one to two hours.
Great self led tour! Perfect rainy day activity! If you are really into reading signage and descriptions, studying instruments, or just being on a boat in general this is a must. Please give yourself an entire day, there is so much to take in on the USS Turner Joy. There are displays of knot artwork, stories, letters, and you can see pretty much everything on this ship! You

An immense and majestic ship. Sadly, the Missouri is no longer here, as many people in Bremerton complained about 30 years ago, when it moved back to Hawaii, but this is nonetheless a brilliant ship to have here, attachment to the legacy of the United States Navy and the sheer artistry of building a grand colossus for the water. Spend enough time here to get a sense of scale. It is obvious without needing to be stated on a ship like this is big, but only by truly exploring it does one get a sense of how immense it truly is, how it operates like a little city, a beacon of movement and life amidst the vast dark seas. I also greatly appreciate the gift shop, which is reasonably priced and quite comprehensive. I always have trouble buying the right gifts for my dad, but I found the perfect Father's Day mementos for him here, as he adores naval history and is the one who first got me interested in the power and the beauty of ships like this.
Joshua F — Google review
I thought the self guided tour was great. There are docents available to answer any questions. The displays were helpful and much of the ship was open to tour.
Jim — Google review
Very worth a visit. The self guided tour is very thorough and informative. The majority of the ship is accessible to the public.

Such a nice ship and easy to self tour. The employees on the ship are great and have so much information to share. Highly recommend.

The USS Turner Joy is a must-see for anyone interested in naval history. This was my third visit over the years, and it was the best one yet! The ship is incredibly well-preserved, and it's fascinating to explore the different compartments and learn about its history. What made this visit extra special was the opportunity to meet a plankowner sailor who was also touring the ship. Seeing his excitement and hearing his stories brought the history to life in a way I hadn't experienced before. I highly recommend a visit!

If you enjoy history and the military then it’s a must! My wife found it as we took a ferry from Seattle to Bremerton and then decided to drive around back to Seattle. Not crowded at all and a lot to learn especially the mechanical and engineering parts of it. Didn’t have time to see all of it as I needed to return my rental so I will need to revisit hopefully.
Marcelo P — Google review
Absolutely stellar. Almost all of the ship can be explored. From the boilers to the insides of the gun mounts. Fantastically preserved while making smart alterations to improve access to otherwise hard to enter areas like the engine room and boiler room catacombs.

Park
Harborside Fountain Park is a charming 2.2-acre waterfront plaza located in Bremerton, offering a picturesque escape along the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The park features the Naval Museum, beautifully landscaped gardens, and scenic views of the marina. Visitors can enjoy various water elements including a large fountain, stone and metal installations inspired by naval history, and massive geysers periodically spouting into the air.
Beautiful park with flowering trees, shrubs, gardens, a gentle waterfall feature and of course, the fountains. Surrounded by shallow pools with walkways on either side of each fountain, the large, dark bronze sculptures erupt every so often sending a huge plume of water into the air above. The walkway leads to an overlook of the sound and Bremerton Naval Yard. There are benches and polished stone slabs for sitting, taking in the view, or just relaxing with friends.

Very cool waterfront park next to the ferry terminal. Worth checking out in the summer especially if you're already at the terminal. It's usually kind of dead here in the winter. Nice views of Port Orchard across the water. Olympic Otter

Harborside Fountain Park is such a hidden gem in Bremerton! The whole area is clean and surprisingly quiet, especially once you’re down by the water and fountains. The fountains themselves are spotless, the tables and chairs make it easy to relax while the kids play, and the views of the ferry coming in and out are unbeatable. Our kids absolutely loved it—think full water-park-level excitement. The fountains bubble and spray in different timed patterns, which kept them entertained forever. Just make sure to pack yourself a snack to chill while they play. The water wasn’t too cold, just refreshing, but I’d recommend water shoes since it can get a little slippery (and while the signs say “no running,” well, kids are kids). Bathrooms are tucked just behind the park (easy to miss at first, but super convenient once you find them), and there are water fountains available too. As for safety, while you might see a few unhoused folks near the entrance, the park itself felt comfortable, family-friendly, and well-maintained. This became one of the highlights of our kids’ trip to Bremerton. A perfect, free way to let them play before or after dinner downtown while soaking in the waterfront views
Liz P — Google review
05/20/23: it was my second time being here and the great feeling has been always the same. I love watching how these fountains pump up the water on top after a period of time. The park’s views are outstanding and gorgeous. The city has done tremendous and awesome work by keeping this park clean and innovating it well. I will always be back when I have time. Love love this place!!!
Danny T — Google review
One of my favorite areas in Bremerton and a relatively new one, something that was not here when my parents visited the city back in the 1990s. The best thing I can say about this park is that it feels so naturally integrated into the marine environment of the city that it's hard to consider this park not being here. It is a watery wonderland of these towering fountain that resembles of whales pulsating with water and periodically bursting into vibrant ecstasy as a plume of water soars upward from the spout, an experience that I anecdotally will say delighted the many children who were running around this park when I was here on a bright day near the end of may. I adore the shady spaces too, under the leafy boughs of growing trees, providing little sanctuaries from which to watch the fountains and the excited visitors strolling or running, in the case of the kids, from one spout to the next, transfixed. Of all the places in Bremerton I explored, this is the one I am most likely to stop at every time I visit here in the future.

What a clever Park to fill an awkward space between a ferry dock and a naval yard. Beautiful water features and great paths. Very well thought out.

Less than 5 minutes walk from the ferry terminal, nice little park to eat takeouts and let kids release energy when waiting for the next ferry.

Military Museums
The Puget Sound Navy Museum in Bremerton, Washington is a free museum that offers a fascinating look into the naval history of the Pacific Northwest region. With exhibits showcasing life on an aircraft carrier, submarines, and other aspects of naval heritage, it's a must-see for history enthusiasts and military buffs. The museum features both permanent and rotating displays with artifacts, photos, and more. Located centrally on the Kitsap Peninsula, it's easily accessible from other popular destinations in the area.
This place is amazing, a true hidden gem among us!! One of ten naval museums in the country, this 2-storey museum has some fascinating artifacts. It’s a very manageable size in terms of covering the space. Theres a nice corner for children to engage their curiosity. A big bonus - it’s free!! We donated to the museum, enjoyed ourselves at the gift shop. The hey have new exhibit that we couldn’t catch because tonight is the opening night.
Dee N — Google review
An extremely pleasant free museum in the heart of Bremerton, an exhilarating testament to the naval history of the town and how it is interwoven with the history of the United States as a whole. Admittedly, the museum felt a little smaller than it probably was owing to the large group of schoolchildren who were here at the same time as me, but I'm not going to begrudge the kids their excitement, which felt very genuine, and they even adored the large typewriter on display as though it was a mystical treasure. As for me, I greatly appreciated the diving helmet, which felt so intricately made and tactile, a visceral emblem of a distant age made close by the enchantment of the museum. The discussions of what sailors have worn over time and the underlying social and military factors that led to those shifts was also fascinating. Like all museums that are worth exploring, it is a friendly meeting place of past and present, where the stories and episodes of the past are reinvigorated with life for the next generations.
Joshua F — Google review
This free museum offers a wonderful exploration of the history of the Bremerton Naval Yard and the ships both built, repaired, and overhauled there. Staffed by Navy veteran docents, the welcome is warm and the stories these national treasures have to tell of sea duty, the silent service (submarine dity), and daily life of seamen is in itself worth a visit. The museum is loaded with artifacts from the late 19th century through to today. For those with kids, there is an exploration room with activities and even a chance to try on navy clothing. Some exhibits are hands-on. The most fascinating for us was the piece of hull steel from the construction of a submarine, which was surprising in its weight and thickness. Of special note is the museum's exhibits from the nation's wars and conflicts, including the oitdoor monument score card of the Naval Yard's efforts WWII contributions to include repair of Battleships damaged and sunk at Pearl Harbor. Even more fascinating and enlightening is the contribution of women to the wartime work at Bremerton. There are restrooms available and a small gift shop. Well worth a visit for anyone traveling to, through, or living in the area.

A free and insightful American Navy museum. My family and I greatly enjoyed the information, pictures, and displays on offer for the public. I highly recommend visiting this site right by the Bremerton ferry location.
Christian M — Google review
I've been to plenty of military themed museums, they've all been great. This one was just OK. We were really expecting much more, esp considering how big the building is. The USS Enterprise exhibit was decent, but again just expecting more. Other than a hat, there was nothing in the gift shop highlighting this museum. No PSNM stuff anywhere.

This was an unexpected find at Bremerton. Went for a joyride (ferry) on a sunny day and found this place. Nice piece of history, warm welcome by the staff and fairly nice and well-narrated collection. Overall, a must visit if you are in Bremerton.

Updated 05/20/23: I had a great chance to visit the museum again. The senior citizens up front are super helpful and amazing. They have locker rooms for your bags, and backpacks in front. I love coming back and back to this historical museum to re-learn about our awesome memorial history. This museum is above what I expected as a historical location. I had a lot of fun and an exciting journey to learn and discover sailors’ life and the establishment of the shipyard in the 1890s and contemporary world. There is no admission fee to enter, and its location is close to the ferry terminal. Everyone can check it out quickly when waiting for the ferry. I have been here two times and still feel great not only the museum’s contents but also the staff’s hospitality and friendliness.
Danny T — Google review
This is an official US Navy Museum, free admission, located just outside the main gate to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard on the Bremerton waterfront. There is not parking nearby - you'll have to find a street spot up the road and walk down. Be conscious of the time limits for your parking, this museum can take a couple hours to work through and most of the parking is 2 hours max. Beware also that trying to drive down to the museum directly can easily result in ending up at the guard shack for the ferry - if that happens, just tell the guard you're there for the museum and they'll let you turn around. But you'll have to wait in line until you reach the shack... so just avoid it in the first place and do NOT continue on the road that passes the museum. Now, as far as the museum, it's ok. I have been three times and it's more interesting each time, but it still feels underwhelming compared to other navy museums like the undersea one in Keyport and the national one in DC, or the submarine force museum in Groton. There's plenty here to teach you about the shipyard itself, but not really that much on the navy... it's heavily local focused. There's also WAY too much reliance on text and photos, instead of primary artifacts. Some exhibits are literally just walls with works painted on them. That, to me, is unacceptable. The artifacts the museum has on display are, frankly, pretty boring too. Wooden patterns for chains and nuts and other assorted ship fittings, some helmets, some obscure and mundane snips, wedges, and other tools, a time clock, some signs, etc. The most interesting items are the bell from the Navy's first ammunition ship, USS Pyro, and the skylight from the old gunboat Nipsic that survived the Apra Harbor disaster and went on to be PSNY's original headquarters during construction of buildings ashore. I was EXTREMELY disappointed that there was nothing - not a single piece - of the famous battleship USS Washington on display anymore. The museum tells me the wheel and bell from that ship are in storage to go back to DC, which is stupid, since the namesake is the state of Washington. The only USS Seattle they have anything from is the Cold War-era replenishment ship, so nothing from the famous armored cruiser that served as the US fleet flagship in the 1920s and survived longer than any other ship of her type. Hugely missed opportunity. I understand the museum is going for interactivity, but the result of such a lack of artifacts is that many of the rooms feel empty other than the paint on the walls, and some of the exhibits just don't flow because they're all vertical-space. I continue to be disappointed in this place for this exact reason. The best exhibit overall is the Nimitz-class carrier exhibit upstairs, which definitely represents the features of that kind of ship well, and is informative and full of items from the John C. Stennis (CVN-74). The patrol boats exhibit, while interesting to read, is another huge miss when it comes to artifacts. A couple models, a boxed game, a couple badges, and a builder's plaque is all they could really muster here... meanwhile two of the ships shown in pictures on the wall were laying around like so much junk just three hours southwest in Astoria, Oregon. Sad they couldn't get some actual artifacts to support the exhibit. Overall, it's still an informative museum and is well maintained, so I can't consciously give it less than three stars. But I was definitely disappointed at the lack of actual navy items on display for being a navy museum. It just feels incoherent and empty unless you're either a/ totally unaware of anything navy and this is your first exposure to the topic or b/ really, really interested in the shipyard.

The Manette Bridge is a historic landmark in Bremerton, connecting the city to the Manette neighborhood over the Port Washington Narrows. Standing at 82 feet above the water's surface, this iconic bridge has a rich history dating back to 1930. Before its construction, transportation between Bremerton and Manette relied on a ferry service. The bridge offers picturesque views of the city's skyline and waterfront.
Always loved Manette and the bridge is beautiful ❤️

This bridge, built in 2011, replaced the historic Old Manette Bridge (c. 1930s). The new bridge has a very nice wide sidewalk for pedestrians. Great views to the north, south and west.

The Manette Bridge is one of my favorite bridges because it's traditional construction, great view, padestrean walkway, and overall ambiance. The 4th of July Bridge Blast is great! You can watch an air show of loops spirals and dives. The fireworks were unique. My favorite was the waterfall of fireworks over the bridge into the water!

Since the new bridge was built they finally started displaying fireworks starting in 2018. This year ,2019 it will be another fantastic show!

A somewhat like an arts district or local community based businesses, arts, small bar, 5★ gormete fine dining offering all the class, and finest of cooking that a high end fancy expensive restaurant could offer, but with a warm friendly close to home and and affordable, they treat you as a close friend and not a "order ticket" they are real people to people, not overly packed, and the attonsphere is lay back and rolls with the flow, if you like gormete kinda meal, or prefer good ol American home cooking, a salad, a drink or you like a nice wine and something that couples well with it, hound and bottle, they also help in the community and have been generous to many missions, shelters, animal resuses etc, they actively are committed to make a diffence, caring is an action not an expression to describe a feeling as of where you stand or personal regards, I have been helped many times and I am so thankful and blessed to have know the owner many years, also there is more(I am not as accounted but I am sure these to also do for community as well, they are all tightly nit and no one's a stranger definitely as neighbors should be) the bakery Sabatore awesome European style treats very very heavy, heavy ingredients heavy in weight, they make every thing from scratch all but stone ground the grain and flour they also have excellent sandwiches and salads, I don't know the menu to well or what the treats are called ( I discovered them from the dumpster behind the Nannette ahhh don't tell and hey don't judge you have no idea the weight in treasures, gold, gems, and wow) just check em out, the store... And Kristie and larys they have been standing sting through the years all others have come and went but they still stand today and also the best doughnuts and pastries (truth stand the test if time) hey they are still here.. go early, they are regularly sold out within a few hours and close long before the hours posted. Also sisters jewelers, local and definitely original, not mass produced like the other places.. the boatshed I haven't eaten there but anything that stands strong against low tide and sewer treatment close by (safe distance) and people not only still come to dine, not only taking up the seats outside as they go first but the come in mobs and crowds and I imagine probly a wait list? Or restoration on busy times? That's gotta be some serious good cooking, oh and it's on the water and you can come in by boat.

Great bridge, walk it every day. Has some weird graffiti on it and I'll usually have to pick up some trash on the walk. Great views.

The Manette bridge is one of 2 bridges that cross Port Washington Narrows. Connecting the community of Manette to downtown Bremerton. The original Manette bridge opened on June 21, 1930 and closed July 24, 2011. The bridge was a steel truss bridge with a length of 1,573 feet. The new bridge is constructed of concrete. The new Manette bridge, has wider sidewalk and car deck. The new bridge features classic but modern design.

Nestled along the picturesque shores of Port Orchard Bay, Illahee State Park spans 82 acres and is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. This charming park offers a plethora of activities, making it an ideal spot for families and friends to gather. With its stunning saltwater beach frontage and lush trails, visitors can enjoy hiking, birdwatching, fishing, and various watersports like boating and paragliding. The park features inviting picnic areas perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure.
Absolute best spot! Well maintained, spacious n the trails are amazing but EXPECT a large influx of incline stairs to get to beach from camp trail. (Going the road way down however is MUCH easier) definitely impressive n helpful but not expected. One of a kind. Well priced. Bathrooms are locked n always changing codes so call for that n it's kind of a small irritation but small potatoes .

Visited in December 2024. This park is gorgeous—think quiet forested campsites that lead down to a pier with knockout water views. Heads-up: the entrance can be confusing; follow the signs for the pier or you’ll loop through the campground first. You’ll also need a Discovery Pass to park. Once you’re on the wooden dock it’s pure Northwest serenity: crisp air, wide-open vistas, and plenty of wildlife action. I hear it’s even livelier in summer when the water sports kick off, but it’s equally relaxing in the off-season.
Danny T — Google review
First beware of the operating hours! It’s quiet, remote, and best for campers or solitude seekers. You’ll need a Discovery Pass to visit, but I wouldn’t recommend buying one just for Illahee State Park. It’s better suited for campers or folks looking to fish or crab off the dock — which is decent. There’s a small area with picnic tables and a slide for kids, but not much else in terms of amenities. My family and I did a short hike with about 100 stairs (give or take — I didn’t count). We love hiking, and if you’re looking to escape the crowds and just be alone in nature, this place delivers. Overall, peaceful but limited. Worth it if you already have the pass and want a quiet spot to recharge.

A beautiful, well maintained state park with a beach (tide dependent) pier, bathrooms, picnic areas, BBQ grills, small playground, and a camping area. We walked along the beach and found a super cool old tree with the roots exposed. We also walked out on the pier and saw an egg yolk jellyfish and many babies. Also saw 2 sea anemones, some crabs, and some cool sea grass. A very clean park with some great views!

Went to Illahe State park for the first time this weekend. The campsites are really well maintained, the bathrooms are very well kept, and the dock was in great shape. I was particularly impressed with the wildlife, as there was a pod of Orcas swimming by the dock.

Lots of people, over 100 vendors, a beer and wine garden, different types of foods and crafts, lively music, a sea breeze and a tour of the USS Turner Joy - Navy Destroyer ship. And just a beautiful view of the marina.

My first time in Bremerton being a Washingtonian for almost a decade and well the term boardwalk is generous. Typically you think of a boardwalk, you think, shops vendors, and activities. There was the waterfront, which was nice and the docked Navy ships were interesting but that's about it. Around the corner from the "boardwalk" were two restaurants and an ice cream shop. Unless there is an event going on I would advise skipping the Bremerton "board walk"

Kitsap Forest Theater is an outdoor performance space that showcases family-friendly productions amidst natural surroundings. The recent production of Beauty and the Beast was particularly noteworthy, enhanced by the unique theater setting. Though accessing the theater can be challenging for those with mobility issues, attendants were accommodating and provided seating options. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets or seating, as well as refreshments to enjoy during the play. The theater group itself delivers a superb performance that shouldn't be missed.
Great place for outdoor plays. The Cinderella story was something everyone should experience. The actors were great, good singers and hilarious when needed. Well done play and great setup.

Love this little theater. A short walk down into the forest brings you to this outdoor amphitheater. There is plenty of seating, a pit toilet, and concessions at intermission. They allow you to bring your own food and drink as well. You can go meet the cast after the show if you want, too! They are also on top of parking and traffic control after so you aren't stuck waiting for someone to make a left hand turn out of the parking lot. Parking is free. There is a van for those with mobility issues or who cannot make the short hike down to the theater. Highly recommend.

It was a wonderful show! Just be aware it is a 10 minute hike down to the theater and the trail is a little steep in places. Bring something soft to sit on like a stadium chair as it is a dirt seat like in a natural amphitheatre. It was such a unique experience! We really enjoyed it!

Beautiful outdoor live arts theater .. hidden back in a little alcove — amazing setting, scenery, and very peaceful. The play (Big Fish) was amazing … the setting made it that much more so.

I first heard about this place from a Google search and am looking forward to attending a summer play in the woods. We decided to check out the big tree trail. We had a wonderful time exploring and actually never made it to the tree. After further research, it looks like it's about 1.5 mile so I think we were fairly close. We did enjoy exploring everything this special forest had to offer. There's a lot to see so I recommend packing snacks. There are restrooms but I believe those are only available during theater performances. Plenty of free parking. There is also a caretaker on site.

Outstanding! This is our first time here and we were amazed. The beautiful forest with an ampitheater. Beautiful trees, birds chirping and singing during the performance. No trash around anywhere. The volunteers were incredible, helped my wife and I. The actors were also amazing and everyone of them had such talent. The singing, wow! We are getting tickets for the other cast members also and we will be awaiting for next year's Anne of Green Gables Musical and their production of Beauty and the Beast. One of the best parts are, it is very affordable. Thank you, thank you.

This has been a beloved family experience for nearly 30 years! Wonderful performances at outdoor amphitheater in old growth forest- rain or shine! Don't miss this quintessential PNW experience.

Evergreen Rotary Park in Bremerton is a picturesque spot offering beach access, boat launch facilities, walking paths, lush lawns, and shelter rentals. The park is home to the 9/11 Memorial and an accessible playground. Visitors can explore the historic Illahee Manor within the park's grounds and enjoy its serene waterfront views.
This park is one of a kind, update, more to play with has so many varieties of swings toying events climbing nets, crawling and way more. You can't believe something beautiful like this until you get to see it for yourself. My kids didn't want to leave just a totally amazing park close to a river and most Bremerton sites.
Paul A — Google review
It was great to be back the park is just beautiful and it's maintained daily. Everyone is so friendly make sure you back into a regular parking spot and don't park in the long spots that are made for the boat trailers. The seagulls definitely want you to feed them and I spoiled the local squirrels with Cedar Hill Texas pecans 😁

Easily my favorite park in Bremerton. It’s sprawling yet easy to access, with several parking areas so you can enter from any direction. The grounds are well-kept and thoughtfully laid out: clean restrooms, multiple playgrounds, a boat ramp, and short trails that pass a respectful 9/11 memorial. The atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful—great for families or anyone who just wants to unwind. A real community gem I’ll happily revisit soon.
Danny T — Google review
The park is considerably better than it was my previous visit a couple years ago. Remarkably cleaner through my walk into the park and down to the water. My 1yr Boston Terrier Princess loves to run along the waters and poke at the crabs, explore and try to make new friends. Birds other dogs and people! The entire walk from a little before the boat launch all the way down to the ferry docks we spent and enjoyed our day. Found a few cool rocks to take home to paint, Princess (my fur baby) and I will absolutely be visiting again in the near future to do more exploring and hiding some kid friendly painted rocks.

Awesome park right on the water. Volleyball net with sand as well. My son loves the toys here. Swings, teeter totter, slides, spin around chairs, learn how to read braile and sign language too. Bathroom on site, well maintained and plenty of seats for parents in close proximity to toys. Great park!

Located in Bremerton, Washington, the Bug & Reptile Museum is a family-friendly attraction dedicated to showcasing the captivating world of insects, spiders, reptiles, and amphibians. Visitors can explore a diverse range of exhibits featuring live demonstrations and preserved specimens. The museum offers an interactive learning experience for all ages, allowing children to discover how animals camouflage themselves and learn about their diets.
The museum is free! There was no wait time and even though parking was a bit awkward, there was plenty of spots. There were a few dead bugs including butterflies and hissing roaches but overall the animals had large enough tanks and looks well fed. I loved the information signs and there was an area with books, toys and other fun items for people who love bugs and reptiles.
Gold S — Google review
Small free museum. Variety of lizards and snakes. Informative description on boards next to it. Bugs are limited but good scientific info on the back end of the museum. Overall takes about 30 minutes to see everything. They also sell some fun souvenirs. Limited parking outside.
Ganesh K — Google review
It's a very small "museum" with a sampling of bugs and a few reptiles. Our experience wasn't a great one but it's free so we can't really complain! The guy at the cash register had absolutely no information, wasn't able to answer any questions and barely looked up from his phone the entire time we were there, only to ring up our gift shop purchases. The kids enjoyed it for the first 10 minutes then quickly got bored and were ready to leave. It's super clean and the bugs and reptiles all looked healthy and content. Also, the information provided is great and having the names of each creature is a nice touch. A bit better customer service is all it would take!
Cindy P — Google review
Was my family’s first time visiting. It was cool at first seeing all the animals. But once we realized how small their habitats were, it made us leave. They keep them really clean, but they are in the smallest habitats ever.
Priscilla — Google review
We had fun at this little museum! It's self walk through. Plenty of fun facts and information on the critters they do have. I wish it was more! But I loved all the bugs that were kept in shadow boxes. They're all so unique. Be sure to donate so they can keep it open! There's a QR code inside as well as a little donation bucket.
Iconic T — Google review
The Grandson had a ball showing his Grandpa, who HATES spiders, all the creepy crawly and slithering things. A bit tight, and you really have to watch your little ones, and they have no public bathroom. Not the best for a place for kids in that respect. The tanks for most of the critters just made me sad. There was a Turtle that kept staring at the fake scenery on the back of his tank and I almost cried. Id have enjoyed, as im sure the replites would, if there were real plants instead of artificial. The snakes had to slither over some parts that were a bit sharp. The snakes had very little room , and the ant farm wall was piled with dead ants. It's huge and we saw 3 ants moving. So sad. There were also a few dead butterflies on the floor of their display. Great free fun time for the public, not so great for the critters. Doubt we'll go back.
Shauna R — Google review
Terrible care of their animals. All of the reptiles are in way to small of enclosures. I could visibly see the mites on the poor snakes. Two ball pythons were in the same enclosure together which should never be done. No heat could be seen on any of the animals. And the guy at the guy at the counter was nice but didnt seem like he knew any better. Was told they have been there over 14 years. You should know better after that long.

Elandan Gardens Ltd is a captivating botanical haven nestled between Port Orchard and Bremerton, Washington. This enchanting destination boasts an impressive collection of bonsai trees, some dating back hundreds of years, all set against the backdrop of beautifully landscaped gardens that overlook Sinclair Inlet.
Really interesting store at the entrance with a variety of things from all over the world, past and present. The walk in the garden (which is a piece of art on itself) was really pleasant, full of very cool and majestic looking bonsais. Dan was kind enough to spend some time with us telling us the stories of some of the trees and willingly sharing his knowledge on the art of bonsai. All in all my only regret is that we couldn't stay longer so I hope to visit again soon.
Bernardo L — Google review
Amazingly beautiful garden with so many stunning bonsai trees it is hard to take it all in and give it any justice with only a few pictures. Dan was trimming one of his bonsai by the fire place in the store. Highly recommend paying the $10/person entry fee to enjoy this gem and support the work.
Pnina S — Google review
This is a truly special place. The entire garden is a work of art; the crown jewel, its bonsais. During your visit, you can learn about the history of the garden and Dan Robinson’s amazing work. As someone with no specific interest in bonsai, I walked away feeling inspired by the craft and restored by the beauty of the garden. Hidden gem hardly does it justice.

Lovely visit to Elandan Gardens! It is truly one of a kind bonsai garden. You don’t have to be a bonsai enthusiast to enjoy seeing the life’s work of Dan Robinson. For a bonsai practitioner it is a one of a kind experience. Dan graciously put down his deadwood carving to spend time with us sharing stories about some of his favorite trees!!! Unbelievable It is one amazing bonsai tree after another in a wonderfully curated landscape. Thanks to both Dan and Diane for being so generous with your time. Visit the trees…Buy Dan’s book…Don’t miss the gift shop!

When we got out of the car from when we left someone was always by us. We didn’t know if they liked us or not. The lady kept following us inside the store and outside. It made us feel really uncomfortable because she was just following us and didn’t say anything. It was nice of her to show us around but she kept on following us. Especially this older gentleman. We still didn’t know if they wanted us to leave or they liked us. You have to pay to go out back and see all the bonsai’s. Inside is cool. We couldn’t see most of it because in some areas it’s hard to get around.

The center hosts public skate days where visitors can pay a small admission fee and rent ice skates to enjoy a few hours of skating. Kids under three get free admission and kid-friendly skate aids are available. Whether you're a novice or experienced skater, the arena provides an enjoyable experience for all skill levels.
I go there every Wednesday at 2 o'clock pm. That's when they have public skate on normal days There aren't a lot of people but when there is a holiday it's super busy. If you want to learn to ice skate this is where you need to go, just check there schedule before going.

Fun experience even in packed rink. We went on a weekend so it was very full, and the kids skate aids were all rented out. I would suggest you if you planned on going with a kiddo (who may want a skate assist) during the weekend, to get there when they open to be able to snag a skate assist seal/deer, before they are all rented out. Other than that, we had fun. They do not allow outside food or drinks, but have a snack/drink stand that has coffee, tea and bottled drinks, as well as pretzels, hot dogs and chips and other small snacks.
Grace T — Google review
Decent rink with a good view of the ice from the stands. The locker rooms are spacious and have their own restroom facilities, however, for adult leagues, no alcohol allowed. There is a separate 21+ bar area, as well as a snack bar with heated seating area. The only big drawback is the fact that there are no heaters above the rink stands, and it is mighty cold in there. Come prepared for that and you'll enjoy a game.
Will K — Google review
Spent the weekend at the youth hockey tournament they hosted, games started very early on Friday so kids had to be pulled out of school early on Thursday to make the drive across Washington on very snowy dangerous roads. Officiating at the tournament left something to be desired as several players were injured. Things got so out of hand I witnessed a player break a stick over another player. Save your money and go somewhere else for your hockey tournaments. The communication from the rink about game times was "read the fine print" we can start games as early as 7am Friday (and they did) and can run into Monday (we finished Sunday) Presidents Day. So the association did not capitalize on the day off from school but instead forced parents to remove children from school early to send us home from the tournament before the holiday. The ice conditions are substandard as the face off dots are hard to see for the players as well as lots of ruts in the ice after it has been resurfaced. Overall an awful experience for the kids and the coaching staff, the local association picks the MVP for each team but how they pick is not transparent. Any team I coach will not be back and any adult hockey I play will not be played at the Bremerton rink.

One of my favorite community park in the area. Sunrise and sunsets are Beautiful here! Very clean and well maintained! Tennis court, walking path, basketball court, baseball field. I've been coming to this park since I was a teen for the past 30 years. It is very beautiful but was not always like this. My first time there picture nothing there just rocks not even the grassy area.... They created this revamp and it's merged into the beautiful park it is today. It has enough space for people to spread out but graze by the other park goers in a friendly vibe. There are also, 5 total parts to this park the other two hidden in hindsight. Just enjoy it and if found and please don't encourage to find it. It is simple just the way it is.

all around great park for so many reasons. waterfront that has plenty of flora that is incredibly rich to what is in the area. plenty of wildlife. have seen whales, otters, eagles, geese, ducks and crustaceans and shelled things. pretty private if you want it to be. plenty of places that are tucked away for private moments. but very easy to run into people with a lot of foot traffic. there’s a cult trying to take over the tennis ball courts. many remain to hold control though. plenty of room to frolic around. plenty of cute spots to lay a blanket down. with walking along to see the connected parks.

The Kitsap History Museum is an impressive exhibit that showcases the history of Kitsap through a timeline, artifacts, and a replica of Main Street circa 1919. Visitors can walk down Main Street and view various displays in store windows, providing an immersive experience of life during that time period. The museum also offers interactive exhibits for children and informative displays on the local ferry systems. Additionally, 'The State of the Union in Black and White' provides a fascinating collection of African American cultural items.
A group of us P.E.O. members went to tour the museum, especially to see their exhibit on women in Washington State history. (Our organization raises money to promote educational opportunities for women.) Fun fact: Entrance to the museum is always FREE. They have exhibits that take you from the geological beginnings of the location to WW2. There are written and audio notes for most exhibits. And staff are very helpful and willing to answer questions.

a pleasure to go to ! i walked into randomly and was amazed by how wonderfully it was set up & how genuinely entertaining i found it!! me & a friend spent about an hour there just looking at the amazing exhibits of storefronts and spaces. i really liked the interactive areas of the museum where you could use a typewriter, dial on an old phone, open up mailboxes (which had combinations for you to match up) to read letters, and more! the attention to detail was much appreciated & the staff there were so friendly and accommodating, showing us how to work the call machine! overall definitely worth stopping by and visiting as a local and as a visitor.
Jessica S — Google review
This is a free local museum that does an excellent job of walking the visitor through the history of Kitsap County and Bremerton. I went here with 30 minutes I had to spare while spending the day in Bremerton, and was pleasantly surprised. My favorite displays were the USS Bremerton (CA-130) silver service and the shipyard office exhibit. I also really appreciated the firefighting exhibit and 1940s switchboard. The storefronts were very well done too. I did not have time to read everything, but I enjoyed what I did read and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Bremerton that's looking for a quick, thorough taste of the area's history - especially if you're not particularly interested in the Navy Museum a few blocks away, this museum has a much broader scope while still encompassing the region's crucial ties with the Navy. Parking can be a little tough, but most of the spots should be for an hour or more and that is enough time to work through this museum, in my opinion.
Evan D — Google review
Very surprised by this place; it has an interesting walk-thru attraction that simulates downtown Bremerton a long time ago with very detailed exhibits, with audio narration. Cute gift shop with cool postcards.

This FREE place is packed with local history, that also appeals to a wider audience given the Naval shipyard’s long history with Bremerton. Lots of fun exhibits that also keep little ones engaged. It’s rarely crowded and right in the heart of downtown Bremerton by shops, restaurants, and theaters. The people at the welcome desk are also very knowledgeable about the immediate area and can give you lots of recommendations. Worth the visit.

The Kitsap Historical Society Museum was a very nice place to visit in Bremerton. I liked the exhibits and especially the one that walked you through the facades and storefronts of a bygone Bremerton. My favorite part of the museum was the temporary exhibit about the Indigpino population in Bainbridge Island and the surrounding area. I did not know anything about them and learned a lot about their history. Definitely a nice place to visit in Bremerton.

Most of all though, their staff was incredibly helpful while planning and then day-of, my team didn’t have to worry about anything venue related. The staff really helped make it a seamless event. Accommodating and considerate of food allergies, and just provided wonderful hospitality all around. If you get the chance, you should check them out.

Great little venue. They tend to hold different events of varying sizes. It is also connected to a larger restaurant that serves great food. The venue itself is put together well, although it is hard to see the venue sometimes. I recommend attending any event that is being held at this venue, so you can see it with your own eyes. There are great views off the back of the venue, and it is and easy walk right outside just for a better view looking out over the water potentially at a ferry passing by. Highly recommend.

I love the shops that surround this Ferry Landing. There is also historical status and plaques telling the fish story of the area. Within easy walking distances there's a full scale movie & theatrical venue, a "Quarters Arcade", amazing restaurants and eateries, a bar that has a personality all it's own, and plenty of places with ice cream! Oh. I don't want to forget to mention a very inviting wading pond with fountains and submarine art for those days you just need to enjoy a 'cool-down' dip! Off to the North is a park just past the bridge to Manette, and if a seafood or steak or vegetarian salad is your preference, overlooking the water is The Boathouse where food and service are at its finest also! Yesterday I enjoyed a tequila-lime-cilantro 2-skewer large prawn dish over a bed of divinely prepared green beans and rice pilaf, all exquisitely prepared! Other dishes we enjoyed were aa plaster of 12 oysters, stuffed mushrooms, salad with blackened salmon & blue-cheese crumbles (was originally on the menu as blackened and blue steak dish but they didn't mind the protein swap!), and a perfectly done grilled cheese plate for our picky eater adolescent! Of course there was some wine and IPA for others at the table but for me plenty of non-alcoholic drink choices. But if not, there is a spot just a you enter Manette crossing the bridge called "Vim and Vigor" that is all about just that; specializing in drinks for the palettes of my peeps who prefer not to partake of the alcohol side-effects! No matter your whim, this is a great place to visit for a day!

To visit Albers Marcovina Vista Gardens, a reservation for a scheduled guided tour by a docent is required. Occasionally, the website may have technical issues. In such cases, contacting their business office via phone is recommended to secure a reservation. This garden offers a peaceful retreat with its stunning collection of plants and flowers. As you wander along the stone paths, which ascend about 200 ft in elevation, you are rewarded with breathtaking views of Puget Sound.
I cherish this little oasis in my neighborhood. They have preserved the land and created a haven for northwestern flora to flourish. The public can visit and learn all about the native trees and plants and how to better preserve and grow them at our homes. Vista Gardens offers various classes on planting, drought-resistant gardening, and even painting in nature because of the beautiful scenes at the gardens. Visit and support this local treasure. It is a peaceful respite in a chaotic time.

We had a great self- guided tour of the gardens in mid summer. So much to see and a lovely place to hang out for a while. Interesting to see so many plants, many of them doing well without built in irrigation. I like the emphasis on sustainable gardening. A large collection of evergreens. It is a garden on a steep hillside, so need to be prepared to navigate that. My hiking sticks were helpful. A chat with the Director both before and after our tour was helpful to get oriented, and to ask our questions.

Went for one of their public summer days. Absolutely stunning landscape with beautiful stepping stone paths covered in thyme. I was awe of the thousands of different plants and how many amazing pollinators there were! An absolute hidden gem!

About 3 years ago my friend and I went to visit Vista Gardens. Mr Albers led us through his magical, beautiful magnificent gardens. We were amazed with the beauty of it. We had no idea these gardens existed until that day. It’s a must see if you live or visit in Bremerton. I highly recommend Vista Gardens. You won’t be disappointed. Plan to visit soon.

A unique location combined with a great selection of unusual plants wrapped into well designed gardens. The result of a lifetime of knowledge and expertise in plants. A plus are the tasteful sculptures and features throughout the gardens.

The information available from this renowned scientist and botanical specialist is in short supply these days. Not is Dr. Albers deep into scientific fact but also in artistic and droll humor. There are few diamonds like him that can be valued in our instagram world. He, his garden, and his foundation is a living tribute to the best this world has to offer.

Green Mountain, located in the Green Mountain State Forest just outside Downtown Bremerton, is a popular destination for both locals and tourists seeking tranquility and stunning natural scenery. As the second highest point on the Kitsap Peninsula, it offers breathtaking views at an elevation of 1,639 feet above sea level. The approximately five-mile roundtrip hike is relatively easy and suitable for families with children and dogs.
Gold Creek trailhead to Green Mountain summit is a great day hike that falls safely in the middle of moderate hike that's maybe 2-3 hrs depending on your pace climbing elevation. Trekking poles aren't necessarily needed but can be useful on rainy or after heavy rains.

A nice walk thru the woods. The tin mine is pretty cool , nice views from the top. Trail in great shape, not too busy. Respectful dog owners.
Amy B — Google review
Awesome hike! The trails are well maintained and clean, aside from the dog poop bags near the trailhead. Expect around a 2 1/2 hour hike to and from the trailhead, with an 1,000ft elevation gain. There are a few vistas along the way where you can stop and take in the view!
Shroomysean — Google review
Steep with lots of loose rocks; 1680 ft elevation gain over just less than 2 miles. Gorgeous views, both at the top of this trail and about half a mile further at the summit. If you have bee allergies, bring an epipen. Tons of beautiful rhododendrons, which attract pollinators. Had my knee replaced 5 months ago so this was more difficult for me than it would be for folks with full flexion.
Whitney T — Google review
Went on a weekday to check out the sunset, gate was open, there was about five cars in the parking lot, but didn't run into a single person in the hike, which is always great. Did the tin Man trail (something like that), Great views of the mountains after just 10mins of hike, making it a quick lovely hike esp if you don't want to finish the whole thing!

New to hiking and trails this seems to be well worth the time and effort. It has great views and not very difficult. Probably could be a little better marked. But again I am newer to trails. Coming from Ohio I am motivated for more of this.

The roads to Goold Creek Trail Parking lot are Rural, you don't have cellphone reception most of the time. We hiked up Gold Creek Trail to the top of Green Mountain, approximately 2.4 miles. We took The Beaver Pond/Plummer Trail back to the Truck. We did around 6 miles in 3hrs 15 minutes. It was not hot. Loose rocks higher up the trail. Getting to Many Nice views of Seattle, the Olympics and the sound is a Nice Bonus 😎🧗👌. The trail difficulty is 2.5 out of 5. For difficulty and vertical climbing. Mostly because of the rocks on parts of the trail throughout. Where good shoes and bring something to drink. Happy Trails ✌️
Buddy M — Google review
Fantastic hike with great views both at the summit and along the way. The trail is mostly shaded so it's perfect even on a hot day. The path we took was 4.5 miles with about 1000ft of elevation gained, so it's not too physically demanding. Definitely recommend!

Mother's Day with my mom from out of town. Best spot I could have picked.. amazing, beautiful food. Attentive staff and a beautiful spot!!! I would recommend a million times. Definitely a nice spot to go to see the water and spoil yourself ❤️ The scallops were immaculate.

What an amazing experience. The food, the service “although a bit late to deliver our main courses”, and the views were fantastic. One of The best Calamari I’ve ever had in a long while. Food is well balanced with good portions. Definitely worth trying.
En S — Google review
I came here as my best friend recommended it and it did not disappoint. This restaurant has a waterfront view and the food is delicious. I tried the award winning clam chowder, crab and shrimp stuffed mushroom and halibut fish and chips. Everything was tasty but my favorite was the stuffed mushroom. There are so many delicious flavors in one bite. The fish was very tender and juicy. To drink I had a margarita, which was okay. The service was great. I got seated right away with the best view and the staff gave me suggestions on what to order. I would definitely return to grab a bite to eat.

**⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Waterfront Gem with Stellar Service!** If you’re looking for fresh seafood, hearty flavors, and a warm, welcoming vibe, Boat Shed Restaurant on Shore Drive is a must-visit. My recent meal here was outstanding from start to finish! **Highlights:** - **Manila Clams:** An absolute delight! Plump, briny, and simmered in a fragrant broth that begged to be sopped up with bread. Freshness you can taste. - **Prawn Scampi Linguine:** Generous, succulent prawns paired with garlicky, buttery linguine—simple but perfectly executed. - **Ribeye Steak:** Cooked to juicy perfection. Tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. A carnivore’s dream! The **service** here is next-level. Every staff member who passed our table greeted us with a smile, making us feel like regulars from the moment we walked in. The attention to detail and genuine hospitality elevated the entire experience. Combine all this with the charming waterfront location (hello, Bremerton views!), and you’ve got a recipe for a memorable meal. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Boat Shed deserves a spot on your dining list. We’ll definitely be back—maybe to try their famed cioppino next time! **Pro tip:** Arrive early for sunset views over the water. It’s the cherry on top of an already fantastic meal. 🍤🥩🌅

Overall I would say the staff were great. The hostess was accommodating, our server was pleasant and the buss staff were very polite and on top of clearing plates as well As overall team players. The food was disappointing. We wanted to eat here the last night of our trip. I was looking forward to fresh delicious seafood. The clam chowder was “award winning” but I was not anticipating bacon in it. The calamari was over cooked but its saving grace was that it was not rubbery. The other saving grace was additional white dipping aioli that was not mentioned on the menu. My scallops were overcooked and dry on the outside while tender on the inside. It’s almost like the gravy they pour all over it is meant to make up for the lack of proper preparation. While eating the green beans (seasonal vegetable) I found a large French fry. I’m not sure how the cross contamination happened here. When our server came to check on us I mentioned it to her and she did not acknowledge it and turned her focus to a bunch of men who were out celebrating a bachelor party. My fiancé’s salmon was pretty good. Very nice cut of salmon. The rice seemed incorrectly prepared and I questioned if it was warmed in a microwave before plating. There were very hard bits in it that made me question if it was prepared properly. Overall, the service was decent. Coming from working in the industry, it’s always nice to see a good team. I think this is more the place you come for a decent drink and fried food. Perhaps the fish and chips would have been a better choice. The $180 bill was too high for the lack of proper preparation, cross contamination and overall meal.

Let me just say, that was one of the best Caesar salads I’ve had in my whole life. Because of the parking it was already down to 4/5 and the prices are crazy. You gotta be making more than 80k a month to think these prices are worth it. The view is nice but I wouldn’t recommend it for the view. I got a side Caesar Salad for $12. And my friend got 6 ounces of clam chowder for $10. I just think that’s crazy. Maybe I’m just picky or have high standards. But you pay a lot for a little amount of food. The food we got wasn’t even a good example of that. The chocolate mousse was good though.
Chloe E — Google review
Delish food, sitting right at the water, great service staff. Even though it was very hot out, it was cool enough inside, they have a deck you can sit out at too. Highly recommend!
Jackie J — Google review
We went on a August Friday night about 7:30 PM -;no reservations. We did not have to wait long to be seated inside, outside seating was a longer wait. The view from the restaurant is nice, overlooking the water and the bridge, nice sunset view with mountains. There were plenty of staff, servers and “helpers “ . The reason I’m giving a low score ( which may be a fluke??) is the kitchen was wayyyyy behind. Our server was honest up front and let us know it’d be a wait for any food, so fair enough. We did wait over an hour and half for our food. I heard both tables near us complain about the long wait. Many tables were canceling their orders. We had the grilled salmon with wild rice and veggie and fish sandwich. Unfortunately both were a disappointment, very bland, not helped by tarter. Maybe it was a one off; but I suspect not.

With over 100 different entertaining performances annually, the theatre offers a diverse range of shows including professional performances and community events.
It’s always a joyful experience to hang out at the Admiral theater. It’s a great performance venue. If you can afford it, the floor seats are the best but the balcony seats in the front row, and the middle sections are terrific. A huge variety of shows musicians, magicians, Rock, pop, country, comedians, movies. You name it the admiral theaters got it. The drinks and snacks are what you would consider an equivalent price to a movie theater, but you have to remember that those Sales support the theater. The ticket prices are very reasonable and an evening there is always memorable.

Charming venue with great acoustics. The surrounding area had a number of bars, restaurants and other activities. It was easy to navigate the theatre and the staff were extremely helpful. Never did find the men's restroom though there was a single unisex bathroom next to the women's. There was plenty of parking which is always helpful. The only drawback is that in the Seattle area is another Admiral theater and if you were as unfortunate as my spouse and I were you found yourself an hour away at the wrong venue. For concerts Admiral Theatre, movies Admiral Theater.

Too hot in the balcony & seats were a bit too close together, but this is a cute little venue right in Downtown. The staff were extremely friendly & everything flowed very well. The lights on stage had to loop through every color to get to the one they wanted, but it comes off as adorable.

Revived theatre with nautical painted motifs. Excellent sound system and sightline visibility throughout. Wide variety of acts, and very friendly management (when I asked someone who appeared to be staff working the bar during intermission about an upcoming show from Lincoln Centre《it was to be live in person, not satellite connect as I thought》, she volunteered to get me free tickets!! Turns out she was the theater manager!!!!) They're doing a great job attracting solid acts (great music, comedy...), and customers.

My wife and I go here several times a year and always have a great time. Get there early to get the floor seats, but the balcony seat are fun also. They offer food and adult beverage here for all shows. I just love that there are tables to sit at and enjoy time with friends. This is not a movie theater, this is a theatrical theater and musical productions. You need to get your tickets early they often sell out. Seems to be renovated, the place is in great shape. The staff has always been helpful and nice.

I have performed here and viewed in the audience, both were very pleasant. There is tons of seats, a large sized stage, and upper viewing areas. Backstage is organized and cleanly, as well as in the theater and lobby. The view from any seat is pretty good, kids that are a bit shorter may be slightly blocked but still are able to see. There is no food or drink in the theater, so do not bring any refreshments. Also, no flash photography is allowed, so be aware. Only thing that I didn’t like, is that it is FREEZING. Bring a sweatshirt or jacket when going here. 4/5 experience every time I’ve been here.

I was impressed from the moment I took my first bite of my Balcon Burrito. I love anything pickled and the curtido was amazing. The music was somewhat loud, but festive and fun. Great, kind service. And although Google makes it sound like it’s only walk-up, there are two picnic tables inside. Yes, it is crammed.

We stopped in here with some close friends after attending a show at the Roxy Theater. Cat was our server and she was fantastic. She is funny, professional, and just plain on it. We thoroughly enjoyed interacting with her and she was super attentive. Additionally, all staff were highly professional. This place is well managed, the food is delicious and the portions are great. Note that our three drinks made up half of our ticket but we had a blast at El Balcon so it was worth the cost.

Food was amazing! It’s a little hole in the wall food place. We stopped for a quick meal and were so incredibly happy with our choice. The pupusa took me back to being in El Salvador. And the chicken bowl, the chicken was so tender! And the rice and beans were so flavorful. Finally the chips and salsa we just couldn’t get enough! The staff was so nice and friendly and very quick in getting our order together as well. This is going on the list to be visited again when we are back! :)

Tasty food and beer. The chicken pot pie had a wonderful flavor but was strangely devoid of anything green whatsoever which seemed weird. Yummy salad! Big bubble on my kid's pizza which if it was my pizza I would have been bothered by, but they didn't mind and said the pizza was uncommonly good for a kid's menu pizza.

Silver City is amazing. Probably the best collection of superbly crafted beers anytime you go to any brewery any day. When you taste, think about the beer style, it's aroma, flavor, mouth feel, and finish... Can't help but appreciate how refined SC's products are. Recently, Alive & Amplified is such a great IPA because bitterness is lower but its layered with flavor! Ranger West IPA is also pretty nice! 😁 The first time ever visiting here my gf said she never liked any brewery ('cept Cascade BH in PDX), but that day she *loved* SC. I agreed completely, we got a second flight and virtually everything was fabulous quality. The best back then? For juicy IPA, Tropic Haze! It was just weeks before the first ever cans came out; for BBA, Strange Love and Time Traveller; Pilsner--Cold One; For experimental pilot beers, Pow Pow IPA... The advantage of the brewery is you do get to try new stuff being developed. Today the Oktoberfest was great, a bit sweet sonce a märzen and not a pure lager. The überfest was good too. Tropic Haze seemed to be different... maybe the source of hops changes in the last, year or so or maybe the head brewer. 🤔 Still tasted good but the nose was muted...don't remember that
リーBryan — Google review
The atmosphere is always great-you feel like you are at a resort. The service is friendly and fast. The beer is great. However...this time we have to say there was definitely a problem. We ordered the feature appetizer for $17.49-a corn dip. What we got-a small ramakin of corn with some cheese (just a little) probably 1/2 a cup in all, and a handful of chips. Oh...and two sprigs of cilantro. I could make this at home (even have the ramakins) for about $2.00. We were appalled. The salad was okay (cobb) but again, the portion was incredibly small. Not at all what we expected. We do love the beer-and the atmosphere-but we will think twice before coming back.
Vanessa T — Google review
We enjoyed the spot, definitely new customers here. But I will say that the food was really nice. I actually hardly eat burgers – but the mushroom burger with the poppyseed bun was five stars out of five! I wish they had a little bit more cider options, but perhaps that’s just something to think about for their team. Staff was friendly, place was busy, and I would love to come back to try a little bit more.

Beers are decent, staff is alright. Not a bad place to wait out traffic for an hour. I don’t suggest playing their trivia night - they allow the regulars to cheat with impunity - ask me how I know lmao. When I got the dude cheating and called him on it they 86’d me. Boo hoo, guess I’ll find another place to drink mid beers 🤷‍♂️

Just so y'all know, on a blue sky Friday in late March, you can still get a croissant at Saboteur 20 minutes before they close at 2pm. Sometimes, they are not sold out. Best darn croissant in Washington.
Kelli W — Google review
Some of the best croissants I've ever had. Even just the classic croissant is really good. The dough is light like it should be, but still has a lot of body and chew to it. It's also just salty enough; I find a lot of upscale bakeries don't put nearly enough salt in their croissants. The ham and cheese croissant is absolutely incredible. Salty croissant dough with gooey, chewy cheese and tangy whole-grain mustard. This is probably my favorite item from their menu. My next favorite is probably the almond croissant. It's that same delicious dough but stuffed and topped with almond cream and sliced almonds. It never occurred to me that an almond croissant could actually be stuffed. It's so good and not too sweet. The baguette is also really good: chewy and hearty, great with some butter or olive oil. And both their sweet and savory scones were tasty, but certainly their croissant-based offerings are the best. There was a very short line when I arrived around 7:45 am on a Sunday. It grew to maybe 20 people just as they opened at 8:00. I'd recommend arriving early for the best selection!

There's probably always going to be a line but don't let that deceive you the pastries are just ok. If you're looking to support something local this is for you but if you're looking for exquisite pastries keep searching. The selection is pretty limited. I got the croissant but it was missing the buttery, flaky, lightness I've come to expect in a croissant. It was good but not my style. My friend enjoyed the ham and cheese as well as the almond. We got 3 pastries for 18$ pretty steep but I didn't know the prices beforehand.

Small town charm. You can smell just out of oven breads from streets. There were people waiting outside Sunday morning. Nice bakery
Ted O — Google review
Had a ham and cheese flaky pastry and a spiced apple danish. Amazing food, full of flavor. And the place smells amazing so if you walk in you'll end up ordering something.
Chris — Google review
Get here early! The line starts before they even open which is always a good sign. We tried the classic croissant, ham & cheese croissant, chocolate croissant and the lemon ginger scone. So freaking amazing!!!! All of it. Every. Single. Thing. Prices are good. Place is clean. Check ‘em out for sure.
CJ L — Google review
Some of the best baked goods in the state and compares well to the best bakeries we have been to around the world. Just wish they find a way to keep the croissants warm for those who can't make it first thing in the morning. We tried a lot of their pastries and everything tastes amazing - flavor and texture is top notch. May the makes of such fine pastries continue to proper and share their scrumptious creations with the world for a long time. We want to go back and hopefully around opening time.
Avinash S — Google review
This is a small bakery with limited hours and even more limited supply so come early and get everything you want to try because I guarantee they sell out of everything after 2 hours of just opening! 2 words, Egg Danish!! If a croissant, egg, green onion bun and fresh herbs had a party it would be this egg Danish! I cannot stress enough how mouthwatering and savory and perfect this one item is! I usually have my sister get me a almond croissant but I've been missing out! The egg Danish is hands down the pièce de résistance imo. Service is quick, I don't recall seeing anywhere to sit, its more of a grab and go but the staff are friendly, and the goods are amazing! Come here and come early, they are worth it!

Sights & Landmarks
Purple Scent Lavender Farm is a must-visit destination in Bremerton, offering a delightful lavender-focused experience. The farm sells an array of lavender products including dried lavender, bath and body items infused with the soothing scent of lavender, and more. During the summer when the lavender blooms, visitors can enjoy U-Pick experiences and guided farm tours. The picturesque farm provides a serene atmosphere with friendly owners and even a chance to meet their pet bunny.
Cutest place in Kitsap with amazing views! The farm itself was so peaceful and we met a friendly bunny the owners have. The owners were friendly and informative. The boutique and grounds are very well kept. Very busy bumble bees! We ate a delicious light lunch served; the ice cream, lemonade, sandwiches with grapes for only about 8$. To pick lavender/tour the farm is another 8$, which is an amazing price to build your own bundle and take pictures on your phone.

If you don't want to spend money, treat yourself to a visit to a state park. Unlike state parks, lavender farms are not publicly funded. The owners of all lavender farms charge a fee because it costs farmers money to insure the guests (they have to carry liability insurance), repair the damage that guests inflict on the plants and equipment, pick up the garbage guests leave behind, maintain the restrooms and by golly, try and make a profit to keep the farm open. This is a great farm: respect it, love it and feed it. That's how it stays great and stays open. If you don't want to spend money, treat yourself to a visit to a state park: Oh wait, they charge a fee too-for the same reason.

The lady we encountered was very nice and this place and shop itself are very beautiful. Oh, and the ice cream was delicious :)

Please readers be aware although they have no signs up to indicate this you cannot bring your own picnic and eat at the lavender farm (really a beautiful backyard). My daughter is WFPB so we packed our own lunches with the plan of eating here and buying their lemonade (which was yummy) and ice cream (we skipped this due to the way they acted). I said right up front before we paid for admission that we had packed a picnic and were excited to pick and then eat in the field. I said the same thing to the female owner when she escorted us into the yard to show us where and how to cut. Nothing was said about this being a problem at that time. Instead after we paid our admission and cut our lavender the gentleman owner came over and asked if we were done. Then offered us samples of lemonade and showed us their box lunches… when I said we would like 3 lemonades but had brought our own picnic for dietary reasons I was informed suddenly and abruptly that this wasn’t allowed. He made my girls feel so embarrassed that we left right away. It is their right to say no outside food or drink. However they should post it…. since they knew all along that was our plan I felt mislead and my kids were disappointed that the picnic we had planned for 3 weeks didn’t happen.
Heather N — Google review
One of those places where you don't feel welcome. Definitely avoid if you have children. I searched again on the website for any indication of the $8 entrance fee but there is no mention of it. I got a sassy comment on facebook from the owner and I expect another one here along the lines of "you pay for the pick your own" okay, fine. You pay $8 per person to enter and get to pick a very small bouquet or get a $3 credit to that store. You do not have an option to not pick. Hope this helps someone else make plans! This is the owners business and she is welcome to do whatever she likes but the misleading website is frustrating
Kirsten D — Google review
Called in to find out details about Purple Scent Lavender farm, i was not informed of the CHARGE for entrance, also i don't understand why we couldn't take our sandwiches in?! Be aware that if you bring professional camera their will be addition charge, plus the ice cream had very little flavor of lavender, and i felt rushed to leave after the closing hours. oh and their is no parking stops available , you have to park on the side of the road. Over all the place is beautiful, but will i come back their again... i don't think so. I didn't feel welcomed by the owner, however the owners grandkids were really nice, but its just to many rules to follow... ohh and after going back to their web page, ready through the "details" i found out that i had $3 credit to buy from the store, the owner didn't bother to inform my group about that...
Katya R — Google review
The hours on Google are not accurate. The female owner was blunt about telling us so. The shop is "closed for the season" despite the signage on the highway and the hours on Google. The store is open "by appointment only" but I certainly wouldn't trouble them with an appointment after our experience. I gave two stars because the view was nice for the minute we got to enjoy it.
Bernadette D — Google review
Walked into the gift shop and saw two other customers gathering lavender. As we made our way to where we assumed the lavender field was through the back entrance an employee/owner stopped us and shut the door in our face and said 'sorry it cost money to go out in the back during blooming season'. No hello, no greeting, nothing. As we stood there shocked at the lack of civility she proceeded to help the other customers and being friendly since they were making a purchase. She gave us dirty looks and we decided to leave the premise. We were going to pick lavender and see the garden but were not given the opportunity to make any inquiries before the rude encounter. We were more than capable at paying the nominal fee to wander and pick. Not sure after our encounter and reading another poor review how they stay in business. Judging people negatively as they enter your establishment for whatever reason is a poor way to do business.

Nestled in the heart of Bremerton, Collective Visions Gallery is a vibrant co-op space that showcases the incredible talents of around 20 local artists from the Puget Sound region. With its inviting large windows, this gallery offers a sneak peek into an array of artistic treasures, featuring diverse mediums such as pastels, charcoal, acrylics, and oil paintings.
We stopped in on a sunny weekday and were greeted by a friendly artist/ staff member and welcomed to the gallery. We have been here before and appreciate Collective Visions as, like another reviewer said, the cornerstone of Bremerton’s art district. We enjoyed the art and especially the Bremerton High School student gallery downstairs. One somewhat haunting student piece drew me in but was not for sale. I bought this small ceramic piece for our summer home and love this artist’s work. As downtown Bremerton continues its long journey toward finding its identity, Collective Visions maintains the torch moving forward.

Movie theater
Seefilm Cinemas in Bremerton, WA is a contemporary movie theater with a clean and modern design. It offers easy parking, friendly staff, and a variety of showings for all audiences. The theater features an adults-only VIP section with a bar and spacious seats, making it one of the best places to catch a movie in the area. Additionally, it has free parking options nearby and shows movies for longer durations compared to other theaters.
I love this theater. I took my son here for my birthday to watch Thor Love and Thunder. The staff was great. The theater was so cleanest I have ever been to. The popcorn was fresh. The Blue berry slushy was delicious. The air-conditioned theater was at the perfect temperature. Just wish they had signs in the garage to the theater.
Noel T — Google review
I don't recommend this theater. I've lived in Bremerton long before this theater was built. I came in today and bought a ticket, then stood over at the counter to buy popcorn and I was ignored. I went to refund my ticket and the person that processed my refund was the same person that ignored me. Apparently a manager named "JP." Netflix isn't putting them out of business, their own bad service is. I don't think I'll be watching a film here ever again. But, if they actually trained their people and paid a living wage, I might change my mind.

Decent theater dwntwn. Like that there's free parking albeit an underground lot (nice for rainy weather :) First time in theater 9. Seating is made of smooth leather material, always nice for a theater. Seats don't recline but were comfy.

Theater was fine but the staff took forever filling a bag of popcorn which made us miss like 5 minute of the movie. No line it was super odd not packed at all. We will go back but just kind of a strange first visit.

Quarters Arcade in downtown Bremerton is a family-friendly gaming spot with something for everyone. From vintage pinball games to state-of-the-art racing games and ticket-winning attractions, it's the perfect place to relive your arcade glory days. The arcade features a variety of games including Skeeball, Mario Kart, air hockey, and even themed pinball games like Godzilla and Foo Fighters. Kids especially love the SpongeBob VR Bubble Coaster Arcade Game.
I've hosted two of my kiddos birthdays here and I will absolutely be returning. They make hosting birthday parties very easy going and fun! I highly recommend having a birthday here, as all the kids have a blast and you can sit back, relax, and enjoy your kid coming up to you with their hands overflowing with tickets, with a huge smile on their face. Also, the party deposit is only $20 and you get your deposit back in quarters for the kids to use on games!! Best arcade ever.
Keena M — Google review
Super cool place! As someone who frequents (and works at) arcades it’s pretty cool to still see one that uses quarters and physical tickets! Nothing is too overpriced and their system seems to be extremely efficient and runs like clockwork! I was truly impressed. Only downside for me was the lack of classic rail shooters such as Time Crisis and maybe a few Japanese imports. Other than that small gripe, this place is pretty solid!
Michael L — Google review
Good times with family and friends! Good size for an arcade, and I saw a variety of ages and demographics having a good time here, including a kids birthday party in the back. The ticket/prize system seems generous too!
William P — Google review
Such a great place to take kids. Completely affordable. Great items and totally flexible on the tickets. Anything above 51 in the ticket count they round up. Had a wonderful time here and it was very affordable. We entertained for adults and two kids for 2 hours on $35 plus they got a bunch of little gifts from the ticket shop.
El C — Google review
This was a nice place to go hang out a bit. I love pinball machines and they have a wide variety. You can play a lot of games to win tickets to but prizes and there are a lot of games of chance for winning quarters. They have a virtual game that was very good, check out the pictures. All around good fun but can be costly if you are not careful.
Robert M — Google review
Favorite place in bremerton! The pay out to quarter ratio is great. Staff is fantastic, and really fast at helping when machine runs out! Many games to play, with kids and adults in mind. Birthday parties are a great deal compared to other places! I go weekly as a grown 38 year old and bring friends and children of all ages and we all enjoy it!
Ashley B — Google review
Super affordable, doesn’t use the silly load up cards, prizes are reasonable, they never have a non-working machine on the floor. This place is absolutely top notch just like their staff Have been taking my son here for years. It’s a gem and a pillar of what a business should be.

The atmosphere is described as great with friendly vendors and a wide variety of vintage clothing and collectibles available for purchase.
Drove up to Bremerton Vintage Flea from Tacoma and really enjoyed my time there. I didn't get much, but they did have a good the various vendors did have a good variety of items. We explored Bremerton after and had a really delightful day trip! Thanks for geiving me a reason to explore the area.

This market was smaller than I expected, but cute. Most of the vendors were talking to each other and didn't greet or acknowledge us. On one hand nice not to be bothered but at least a greeting would've been nice. There are bathrooms which was a huge plus! No food just some snacks and drinks which is totally OK, just noting for others visting to know what to expect. Lots of fun things to look at including a vendor with tons of Vans shoes that I loved! Prices were mostly moderate to high - dont go here looking for deals!
Lisa B — Google review
Temper your expectations for a flea market. Came over from Seattle, and we were a little disappointed. It is not really a traditional flea market but a small vintage and antique mall with flea market hours. Prices were all over the place and we only left with a couple of small items. It is worth a stop if you are in the area, but I don't think we will make a point of going over just for shopping there. Wish it was more like a true flea market which are hard to find now in the Puget Sound area.

Visitors can enjoy the open space for field games or take leisurely strolls along the perimeter pathway. Additionally, there are facilities such as benches, picnic shelters, easy parking, and public restrooms available at the park.
Park has limited parking, but it's so clean and well kept! One of my favorite neighborhood parks in the entire west coast. Not a huge park but plenty of space for multiple families to do their own activities without feeling squished. Went there in the evening, in January of 2025. Brought my little hanster for some outdoor playpen time. The fog rolled in early and looked eerie but pretty.

This is a nice little park down the road from our home that we enjoy walking to. There is a path around the whole park for walkers, a playground for kids, a grassy area to play with your family, and a covered area for eating or celebrations. Dogs are allowed leashed. There is gardens of vegetables, fruit, and flowers that are for viewing not picking because the plots are leased. There are restrooms that are locked at dusk, multiple garbage cans and a drinking fountain. Please take care of our parks 😃

Cool free (suggested donation $5/family) puppet museum. If you've got some time while walking around downtown Bremerton, this is a fun place to stop by. The museum shares space with another museum, but we love to learn, so we don't mind. It's small, but boasts lots of different puppets and styles. I was sorry we missed any shows, but the gift shop area also has a spot for kids to try putting in their own show. The park boasts a separate play structure for toddlers and a thrilling hillside slide for older kids. Despite its size, the park never feels overcrowded even when multiple groups are present. Its cleanliness is commendable, featuring minimal litter and graffiti.
Update: The park has turf now on the playground. It’s so cool. Especially for the little ones that can’t walk yet. Sometimes the kids from the Catholic school will use the playground for recess. Great dog park and everyone I meet there is very well cultured. 👥👍If you go during the morning there are some really great people. 🅿️👍 Ample parking 💩👍 Poop is usually picked up and land mines are rare. 🪑👍 There are two picnic tables which could seat four comfortably and perhaps six. 🌡️: 🌧️&☀️ Highly recommend going in the morning during summer. There is very little shade/rain cover 👞🥿 Don't wear your nicest shoes; After about 5 ft you're safe. ℹ️Everyone before The mid-afternoon picks up their poop which is really great for walking around. ℹ️Although the very beginning is tempered cement it becomes mulch around the water balls which are exactly at the entrance. The mulch really keeps it from mudding up which is amazing but if you mess around too much your shoes will get dirty, after about 5 ft you're safe.

I really liked this park because it’s one of the only places I feel safe going to during the day as a woman with my dog. However, the last two times I’ve been there, people have allowed their dogs to roam off leash outside of the Bark Park. It seems to be the same people each time. I don’t take my dog to the Bark Park and just walk her around the park because she is a rescue and was attacked by another dog when she was young, so she is very anxious when other dogs approach her. Because of this, I give other people and their dogs ample space and keep my dog on a leash at all times (especially because you are supposed to outside of the Bark Park). But I cannot control other people’s behavior or their dogs. The last time I was there, about a month ago, an off-leash dog was blocking a narrow pathway and my dog was afraid to pass. The owners were far away and were doing nothing to recall their dog, so I had to wait. I was there again today, and four people had four dogs, none of whom were on a leash (the four people seemed to be together, by the way — and two of them and their dogs looked like the same people from last time). Their dogs were roaming everywhere, far from their owners if they needed to be recalled quickly. I tried to keep my distance, but then the dogs gathered near my car and I had to wait in the 84 degree weather for them to move so I could take my dog safely to the car without her feeling scared. Before that could happen, however, a large dog booked it towards us. The owners tried to call for their dog, but their dog did not listen. I finally snapped and told them they need to have their dogs on leash if they’re not going to be in the Bark Park. It’s unfortunate that I’ll have to find somewhere new to take my dog, but rules really need to be enforced here.

I feel safe coming here to watch baseball games because of the overhead safety net they have covering the area people walk/sit. Very nice cemented place for children to play on their bike/scooter. Beware of the chiggers on the grass!

The dog park is phenomenal anytime of the day or evening. The dogs are all great but owners are on top of things for those rare times someone gets over excited. Then there is a 2nd side so no one has to leave early! There are water hoses and kiddie pools for the dogs and lots of area to run and play. It isn't our closest park, but it is our favorite.

Oh does my family love this gem of a park. It's huge, well maintained, safely monitored, and full of life. Simple as that. Normally ide say more but I'll leave the rest to the "experiencer"

Very large and open park. Includes a decent playground, a dog park, basketball court, several baseball fields, a sand volleyball court, and an indoor soccer field. The playground is located away from the street/parking lot. There are picnic tables and benches. Not much shade. Restrooms available. A very large parking lot.

37Kitsap Kids Playground

4.6

Park
Kitsap Kids Playground, located outside the Kitsap Fairgrounds, offers a perfect place for kids to have fun with swings, slides, and climbing obstacles. The playground has plenty of parking nearby and a porta potty for convenience. While it may need some maintenance, locals have tried to repair it on their own. There is a covered picnic area with tables inside the playground fence.
Located outside the kitsap fairgrounds this is a perfect place to while away the day or kill time if your littles are t interested in whatever you came to see at the fairgrounds 🤦🏾‍♀️. Plenty of parking close by with a porta potty 🚽 close by off needed. Swings, slides, climbing obstacles and more this is the perfect space for the 3and up crowd. There are no vending machines so make sure to bring water. There are picnic tables so you have space to eat and relax. Definitely a repeat worthy experience
FarEastFurqans — Google review
Playground is really fun. I have a 7 month old and it was still fun for her. The baby swings are up higher than most playgrounds. Which I really loved because you are able to see your babies face. Most swings are really low to the ground and I would have to sit low to see her cute face.
Priscilla — Google review
Are really love this place. The wooden structure is great and it's fully fenced. There isn't much shade so it gets hot the larger it gets in the day. Wood chips ak over so that does stink since it gets in shoes. There's tables for having a picnic or gathering at. Plenty for kids of various ages to have fun at.
Ashley K — Google review
This is a huge play area, and it’s alright the fact that it has areas for the kids to run around but it needs to be maintained better. Some of the wood and pieces are faded and falling apart. My son loves to come here though so we are there quite often. The park can get packed at peak hours after work during the week. Great place for your kiddo to stretch their legs!
Joseph B — Google review
It's been a long time since I've been to this park by OLY, and I have to say minus the tacky graffiti on the playground. Its a perfect park to bring your kiddos too and enjoy their laughter.

Playground is fun, they have many structures, good for kids. There's a lot of children there on weekends so expect it to be busy, but other than that it's a fantastic time.
Will ( — Google review
Lovely park, but its easy for tiny kids to get lost or to be out of eye sight. Its also easy for littles to get stuck, or need help. Super fun for older more responsible kids.

38Stephenson Canyon

4.1

Hiking area
Stephenson Canyon is a natural oasis within an urban setting, offering a variety of wooded hiking trails and a charming creek. The trails cater to different preferences, with some sections perfect for leisurely strolls and others providing more challenging terrain for adventurous hikers. While the small waterfall may be tricky to locate at first, the picturesque surroundings make it worth the effort.
Recently cleaned up by a fantastic crew, trails were in great condition. There was some areas near the water with natural clay, a great spot to stop and play with littles. We mostly stuck to the trails off to the left where the little waterfall was. We went to explore the right fork of the trail but noticed an encampment and turned back. We felt safe enough on the left trails though. 👍
Amber M — Google review
Beautiful little trail system with a stream and waterfall. The waterfall was difficult to get to with small children but we thoroughly enjoyed our little hike. Perfect place to go and step away from the city.
Kristin S — Google review
I wish the city would clean this up it's sad they got Lion's Field near by that could use a good twin place to have to go back and forth to... It's nice but very overgrown....too many pocket spider webs that started grossing me out... I did not even want to look at the woods... I was looking for a way out... I noticed a lot of people brought their dogs... I hope they pick up... It's very short so nice quick quiet area with a creek...
Michelle C — Google review
This is a less maintained trail with some overgrown spots, but still plenty hikeable. I'd say this spot is good for friends and couples, but would keep a close eye on small kids you bring here. There is a hidden waterfall down one of the main paths, you will have to climb down to it, the pictures I added show the climb, there is a set of ropes to make it easier, it's not a bad climb at all, but you will get some dirt on your clothes
Robert B — Google review
It was a beautiful sight. I little bit of a incline hike but most of it with stairs. Not really marked, but if you go with a picture of a map of the trails you'll get to where you wanna go. And it's also a great place to find an adventure.
Dara H — Google review
Gorgeous little trail! Super pretty and shaded, and the loop itself is super short, but with plenty of side trails to explore, somebof them going down to the creek. Heads up, there is a bit of litter and camp remenants along the creek.
Aneesa F — Google review
Lovely place to hike around. Some areas have the trail washed out. I've also experienced people on small electric motorcycles driving around the main sections. Lots of small paths and approaches that get very steep suddenly that might be dangerous if you're walking/running around too quickly and not paying attention. I found the steep sections quite fun myself and the bottom with the small waterfall and brook is lovely.

Quaint little park next to my house. I walk my pups here often, beautiful lake. Unfortunately like most lakes in the area it has an ongoing algae bloom issue. Otherwise it's a beautiful lake and fantastic area to reside in.
Gary F — Google review
Borrowed a friend's kayaks for the kids to have fun at the lake. I wish the outside shower worked. That the grass areas were available that there were a couple shelters due shade on hot days. Also, if there could be some type of person to fine boaters who are jerks. There was one today who was blaring music that was inappropriate for some of the kids trying to enjoy the lake.
Oliver O — Google review
Renovations completed at dock and boat launch. Park shelter still under construction. Bathrooms are open and clean. Did not try to use outdoor shower, so unsure if it works. No pass needed to park here. Loaner life vests available for children. Our kids enjoyed fishing from the dock. Easy to launch a kayak at the boat launch (lake shore is pretty muddy, otherwise.) Multiple boats used the boat launch while we were there without issue. Picnic tables and benches available. Some people stayed in vehicles just watching the lake.
Laura P — Google review
The lake is relatively small. There were a lot of speed boats, so not ideal for paddle boarding.
Tessa F — Google review
Small waterfront park with docks for fishing and setting up kayaks.
Conner — Google review
It's not too dirty, but it's really only good for launching. There is some flat space to play, but all tables are in direct sunlight, so bring shade. Docks move as they should, but small kids should be supervised at all times.

40Chico Salmon Viewing Park

Park
Chico Salmon Viewing Park is an excellent location to visit prior to the arrival of salmon during their migration. The park boasts well-maintained trails adorned with a variety of indigenous flora and fauna. It serves as a cherished and properly cared for destination for educational purposes, particularly regarding salmon and native plant species. Additionally, there is a designated area where visitors can observe the salmon in their natural habitat, accompanied by informative signage.
Short and enjoyable trail with a variety of flora that takes you along the river while you watch the salmon migration. Just beautiful.
Andrea — Google review
Visited Dec 11th to understand how many fish had come up Chico Creek to plan for visits next year. From the photos you can see a lot of decaying fish. I bumped into a fisheries biologist. He told me that they estimate from their counting program that 40K fish migrated up the Chico this year. He suggested that most years the fish peak the last week of Oct and into the first week or two of November. This year the peak was 2 weeks early. He said this was the biggest year for a very long time. The park isn’t very large but it is well marked and there is some good signage. It is a nice sized creek and the park stewards and park team are doing a nice job here.
Eric B — Google review
The salmon were in when we went last week, and the steward there was very helpful in teaching us about them! We got to see them spawning and learn more about their reproduction process.

Native plant restoration project is contributing to the return of salmon. A short nature trail takes you to multiple viewing areas for the salmon run from August to December. We went for Kitsap Salmon tours (first Saturday in November) and there were multiple community organizations there to answer questions about the salmon.

41N.A.D. Marine Park

Park
N.A.D. Marine Park is a serene bayfront park in downtown Bremerton, offering beach access, walking trails, and a wooded area with abandoned military bunkers. The park provides a beautiful and secluded getaway in a nice residential area. Visitors can explore the colorful graffiti-adorned bunkers, although some are not accessible to the public. The park features free parking and easy walking paths, making it an enjoyable destination for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike.
Can't wait to have time to fully explore. We stopped for a small drive brake to stretch our legs and it is BEAUTIFUL. Nice path but where you park the stairs down to the water lead to a a big drop so we took a weird way to get down because we didn't have time to explore the path (I'm sure there are easier ways to access the water) really quiet area and super relaxing.
Kay — Google review
It's nice because it's on the water, unfortunately it's not safe. Long story short, don't go at night and don't go into the wooded area. If you have a dog bring him with you. The image shows the latest criminal activity here, the gate was torn off, but there has been much worse....
Bernadette _ — Google review
Cool little park at a dead end street. A quick quiet getaway right in town. Has a couple picnic tables. Lots of squirrels. Hike up the hill and check out the old military bunkers. There are many more than you can see hidden all along the hillside covered by vegetation. Down below at Oyster Bay the beach is very rocky.

We went on a Sunday afternoon, and found the gate closed across the driveway. After finding an alternate place to park on the side of the road, we walked in and used one of several trails down to the beach. We also walked the length of the park on the old road, and enjoyed seeing the huge trees with their canopies over the path. We didn't have time to venture up into the woods to find the bunkers, but did see smoke from someone's campfire up in the woods... There are a couple picnic tables near the park entrance (one down by the water's edge), but no restrooms or playground.
Ethan M — Google review
Was told the bunkers were no longer open to the public. The entrance is at the end of Shore Drive to the left up an access road and not marked so that may be misinformation .Easy walking with a lot of colorful graffiti on the bunkers.Bring a flashlight. Some are spacious enough to walk around in and are sometimes used by the homeless.

Very private place. Out of the way. It is right next to the freeway. I love the sound of the cars actually. There is a huge anchor and chain from a carrier or destroyer. Each link weighs at least 70 pounds. Great place to eat lunch. No bathrooms though. And the grass is cut by volunteers, very cool. Today the gate was closed. I still had lunch there. Personally one of my favorite spots to go to.

I love this place to sit and chill. It has a really good view for watching the traffic. If you want a nice and easy view of the highway going in and out of town, this is a great place. It looks like some famous people have left there mark there. Also, if you play the niantic games it is a good place that. I noticed that it seems to stay locked all winter, but during the summer the gate opens and closes at reasonable times.

Mountaineers Foundation Rhododendron Preserve offers a beautiful and enchanting forest experience, perfect for visitors of all ages. The handicapped shuttle service is highly recommended, so arriving early is advised to make the most of the visit. The natural beauty of the trail is mesmerizing, reminiscent of scenes from movies like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. Hiking in this majestic forest with some elevation gains provides a great outdoor adventure.
I arrived too late to connect with the handicapped shuttle, a wonderful service. Arrive early for many reasons. Pack a picnic. Enjoy the beautiful walk down to the theater area. Mother nature & the Mountioneers do a fabulous job making this a beautiful experience. This little park is quite nice for looking out onto the inlet and feeling the light breeze as you lazily sit in one of the two benches near the water or the octagon-shaped gazebo or by the lone table further out by the road. There is one handicapped parking with a wheelchair accessible way all the way by the water. There are also plenty of parking lots, more than this place needs as it's quite quiet and not busy compared to the nearby Lion's Park. Great place for a picnic. There's stairs at the end to access the rocky beach and the water. When it's low tide you can possibly even walk out all the way to underneath the Warren Ave. Bridge, however I do not recommend it as it's quite scary. Very quiet and serene, but fairly small so keep on the lookout or you might just pass it by.
